I'm sick as a dog, but at least it gave me the time to stay home and finish this update! This special though is definitely going to be lasting through into the new year, but I figure I would rather take the time to see it to completion rather than try to stuff it into some arbitrary date. It was so fun finally getting to do Casey Sr and Raph though. I wanted to give these two some time to shine since we see so little of them in Replica.

MOTHEROOD/CASEY TED TALK TIME UNDER THE CUT

I will admit... I've never been a big fan of the dumpster baby scenario for Casey Jr. It's not a bad scenario at all! Plenty of amazing stories have used it and it certainly embraces the "found family" theme of TMNT. It just always seemed a little unrealistic given the harsh state of the world (or at least as unrealistic as you can get in a story about brain aliens and mutant turtles haha). It's certainly an easier and simpler setup (removes the dad out of the picture for sure) but I wonder sometimes if this choice of origin story gets picked a lot simply because it's difficult to envision Cassandra going through pregnancy and typical motherhood willingly. However, if that's the core reason, I feel as if that does her character a great disservice!

After re-watching a few episodes with her, it's shocking the amount of depth of character Cassandra has (even compared to some in the main cast). I love her because while she's a passionate woman who makes mistakes, she's also extremely introspective and sensitive (something we see a great deal in the Brownie episode).

While I have never been a mother myself, a good number of my closest friends have been. Some of whom I could have NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS seen becoming mothers. Yet those people end up becoming some of the most amazing moms I've ever seen. Being a mom changes you, both physically and mentally in a way that I think gets glossed over in general storytelling. While I can't necessarily show that change much in Replica, I can at least give a nod to the fact that Cassandra, for all her flaws, is an amazing woman who I think would be an awesome mom! Something done for @somerandomdudelmao 's apocalyptic series! I haven't used color on anything for a while.

I've been wanting to do fanart for them for such a long time now but I'm a nervous internet person so I don't show myself much or know what to say or how it's okay to interact. HALF THE TIME I DONT EVEN DARE REPOST AND ITS KILLING ME BECAUSE I LVOE THIS SERIES SO MUCH I CRY, as I'm sure everyone can relate.

Raph had never really been my favorite, but lately everything about him makes me so soft and with cass's newest updates? There was no way I could just sit still. It was enough to draw me out of my "too scared to post"-cave and I'm glad.

Also currently saving to buy a new iPad cause mine is usable no more, so I'm borrowing my brother's. The pain of not being able to draw when I want wherever I want has never been greater. I do have some things I wanna show though so idk maybe 🤲

Ok but Casey finding a little turtle boy and taking him home like,

lol! Pretty much! I've said it before and i'll say it again, I love Casey's mom (Mrs. Jones. I wish she had a cannon name in 03 damn it!) She gives no shits and takes no shit. She is awesome! (in cannon, her first reactions to the turtles was to catch Splinter and Leo sneaking around without them noticing and just...continue doing whatever she was doing almost completely unphased. The only way we know she saw them was because she eventually mentions to Casey that “You don’t have to tell me now, but one day I would really like to know the story being the big rat and the giant turtle.”)

I also think that, for this at least, Mrs. Jones is a Lawyer. B/c 1, she's got that vibe to make it work, and 2, I'd imagine they'd need one to make sure Donny got legal citizenship and what not. (also just because lil donny bragging about his mom being a lawyer would be very adorable lol)

But yes! she would definitely be a little shocked her eight yo kid came back with a turtle shaped toddler. : )

Base on the "humans are space orcs" tag I'm obsessed with recently.

"So let me get this straigh" says a faceless octopus like creature. Her antennas shaking slightly wile she crosse four of her eight appendices in a disappointed manner that manages to be slightly terryfiyin to the two creatures in front of her.

"YOU" she point at the younge rock like creature while this one tried to put back its broken hand in to place "play a prank in our captain. Our HUMAN captain. To demonstrate HIM" she pointed at the small 3 legged boy that just keep looking at the floor in shame "that humans are not to be feared because 'human are on average week and most likely to flee'. Did I understood correctly?" She finishes.

"I mean yes. That's the basic of it" says the rock person while they finish to attach their limb back "I didn't expect her to kick my hand, or break it apart from my arm and then run away into a wall" they finish In a sheepish tone "didn't know humans were so strong, I mean not even in a combat I have lost a limb!"

"It was terrifying to see" says the smaller boy "you say she would freeze or run! Why did she atack?!" He scream.

"In most circumstances of danger most Humans would run" the faceless woman speak "but sandy, do you really belive we would have a 'defenseless' human has a captain without them being combat efficient?" She questioned "humans might not be the strongest in the galaxy but they can still pack a punch when trethen"

"But marcy, she is a human. How could she break my hand?" sandy says while they rub their wrist.

"Casey might be human. But Humans have a tendency that when under panic of a threat they can get an extreme strenght boost in exchange of the abilty to sence their own pain. They can easily break a golem under those circumstances" marcy states while moving her antennas to the captains body to sence any harm "now, she doesn't have any actuall injury. She just pass out. Leave my medic unit while I wait for the captain to wake up. Then she decide what to do with you two" she finish.

"Yes doctor" says the golem.

"Why me!? I didn't do anything!" Says the three legs boy.

"Randal you could have stop them. I have seen you convince sandy to stop themselves before. If you didn't do it its also partially your fault" marcy states.

Randal stays silent for a moment before saying "fair enough. Come on big stone, Lets leave and enjoy our time before death"

With that say Randal and sandy leave the medic station.

"How much longer are you planing on staying" says the octopuses while looking at the human in the medic bed "Because I have a new medic assistance to train you know"

"The kids got a cockroach in MY ship. Let me rest before I chew them a new one" the human spoke without moving or opening their eyes.

"O for the stars. Is just a small insect. You smash the spiders without a second thought"

"Marcy you don't get it" Casey stood up from the bed and start pacing in the room "it was a FLIYING cockroach. It flew from their hand and now I have a FLIYING cockroach in my ship!" Casey states hysterically.

"Your a captain. Act like it, Now leave" says the faceless lady.

"Fine. I'd leave, but if I die I blame those kids and apoint you has new captain" with that say Casey leaves, looking cautiously everywhere.

"So..." says a small voice "when are you gonna tell the captain she have a 'cockroach' has a new member of her crew" a small insect like creature similar to an earth cockroach crawl from under a desk and flew to the doctors shoulder.

"When she stops eating my melron berry cake" marcy says "she is allergic to it but I swear to the stars humans would eat everything has Long it doesn't let them on bed rest"

"You are a menace doctor" says the smaller creature amuse.

"Adicus I will not be the second in comand of this ship if I wasn't. Now help me organize the crew next medical screening"
