okay yesterday I was frolicking about after work, popping down to the comic shop for fun and then doing some projects, painting that aarakocra mini, doing one side of the edge painting that needed done, watering plants, cleaning a bit, etc and then realized that I hadn't eaten dinner, so I nuked some pizza and was about to text the DM my plan for Adda
and pulled out my phone to do that and realized it was 2 am and I hadn't noticed. I thought it was dinnertime.
Today I am trying really hard to go to bed at a reasonable hour, just to mix things up. But I have started the process of applying mordant to papers that I'm hoping to marble this weekend, which is like a 20-min per sheet process.
So things are not looking good on that front.

Macro Monday photos of some recent marbling attempts. Experimented with mixing new inks/colors (with metallic shine in them) and using a paintbrush to fleck droplets, both of which turned out meh. All my streaks/waves were waaaaay too tight/noisy. Yet another learning experience, better luck next time...

Barra Atlantic Gin
An impressive #gin from @BarraDistillers @grovecomms #ginreview
Barra, the second southernmost inhabited island of the Outer Hebrides, is known as the “Garden of the Hebrides”, home to an abundance of flora and fauna including over a thousand species of wildflower. It is also now home to Isle of Barra Distillers who produce Barra Atlantic Gin, but when Michael and Katie Morrison launched it in August 2017, it caused a bit of a stushie. The problem was that it…

Molds - success and failures
Tumblr media
Unexpectedly agar Agar set the best , it could’ve been because it’s a mix of agar agar flakes , vege-gel and carrageen seaweed. I love how it turned out . It very firm in texture , so thé orbe form isn’t fragile .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The gelatine didn’t set well , it has a transluceny which I am looking for but unfortunately it didn’t keep the shape of the mold .
The jelly came out well , taste good too , not sure about the colour yet , could be used to represent the blood in the body ? Maybe like jelly would work better , give it a toxic cartoon look for hyperbole for the plastic pollution theme .i like the giggle effect of the strawberry jelly, the seaweed jelly didn’t have that quality.
Tumblr media
I made this video to show how the gel material is just a disposable product , easily destroyed. Like how plastics are slowly destroying the environment .
I plan to create ‘organs’ from SUP’s I’ve collected , and suspend them inside the jelly using my clay figure as the mold .

What does sea moss taste like?
Tumblr media
Sea moss has been a type of herbal medicine for centuries. It is also known as Irish sea moss or carrageen moss. It is an excellent seafood and treated as the best superfood all over the world. It is rich in nutrients and minerals and has gained popularity in recent years. Only for nutritional value and fascinating health benefits, many people want to know:  What does sea moss taste like? In this article, I will dive into the flavor profile of sea moss. So, let's see the enigmatic world of sea moss and discover the intricate flavors.
Origins, uses and nutrients of sea moss:
Before knowing the taste of sea moss, let’s know the origins, uses and nutrients of sea moss. Actually, sea moss is a type of red algae that is found along the rocky shores of the Atlantic Ocean, particularly in Ireland and other parts of the British Isles. It is scientifically known as Chondrus crispus. It has been harvested and consumed for centuries by people of the above mentioned reasons. However, sea moss is valued for its potential health benefits and culinary applications.
Traditionally, sea moss has been used as a natural thickening agent in soups, stews and desserts due to its high gelatinous content. It contains a wide range of essential minerals, including iodine, iron, calcium and magnesium that make it a valuable addition to a nutrient-rich diet.
Sea moss texture: Smooth and Gelatinous:
One of the mentionable characteristics of sea moss is its gelatinous texture. When soaked or cooked, the seaweed softens and forms a gel-like consistency. This texture can vary slightly depending on the preparation method and the type of sea moss used. Generally, sea moss has a smooth, slippery texture, reminiscent of gelatin or tapioca pearls.
The gelatinous nature of sea moss makes it an excellent natural thickener in various culinary applications. It is often used as a vegan alternative to gelatin or agar-agar due to its ability to create a thick and creamy texture in dishes.
Sea moss taste
Sea moss has a unique flavor profile. It tastes subtle and earthy. But its taste can vary depending on factors such as the harvesting location, processing method and individual sensitivity to flavors.

#666: Scituate (which is scituated near boston, MA) was the pre-war home of the mossing industry. Mim Flynn was known as the mossing queen of scituate, who started collecting moss at the age of nine in a boat of her own. she was one of the few people to do this, let along one of the few women. sadly, the industry, and the whole culture (mim flynn's daughter said in an interview) is dying out to industrialisation and decreased demand. the last irish moss king died in the 80s and the town of scituate no longer farms carrageen. there is a Moss Museum scituated there though xP
