So I watched the final season of Hsmtmts and it was, in my opinion, the best one yet. The characters were all developed brilliantly (my favourites being EJ and Mr Mazzara as usual, but I loved them all) and I almost wish there were more seasons even though I'm glad that it ended on the high it did. I'm going to miss the wildcats but I'm so glad I found this little theatre show and followed it through to the end!

"Oh my god, Ash." Carlos practically ran into the robotics room.

"What? I thought you had rehearsal with Seb?" She asked, looking up from her computer.

"We just finished, but guess what. I–"

"Mr. Rodriguez, this is a meeting for the robotics club, I know Miss Jenn allows just anybody to walk into her room, but I don't," Mr. Mazzarra interjected.

Carlos waved him off and turned back to Ashlyn, "I asked him to homecoming and he said yes!" The pair cheered loudly, much to Mr. Mazzarra's displeasure.

"What are you going to wear?" Ashlyn asked excitedly.

Carlos thought for a moment before finally saying, "I think the dark suit with red roses, it brings out my eyes. Oh I hope he wears something that brings out his eyes." He sighed, looking into the distance longingly, "He has such nice eyes..."

"Hey! Sebby!" Kourtney bounced into Ashlyn's kitchen. Seb didn't hear her. He was too busy staring at the boy in the living room.

Carlos was explaining a challenge to the two teams listening intently. Seb didn't think he could ever be more in love with a person than he was when Carlos whipped out High School Muscial: The Choosical.

Kourtney waved a hand in front of his face, "Seb, are you okay?" She followed his gaze to a certain boy and sighed, "oh, you're in loooovvvveeee."

Seb jokingly pushed her, smiling as he did so. "Can you blame me?" He asked, "Carlos is just so passionate in everything he does!"

Carlos looked up from the card he was reading and flashed a quick smile at Seb, whose heart instantly melted. "He's so cute."

Kourtney laughed, "Oh, Seb, you've got it bad for that boy."

Seb nodded, "Yup, I definitely do."

Kourtney needed comfort and never got it from the people around because everyone was caught up in their own drama. She was who she needed someone to be for her to the kids( young Anna and Elsa) reassuring them and herself.

Carlos,Kourtney, Maddox and Ricky are carrying the comedy this season.

Gina will always slay I just want her to be happy and to be the star she was born to be.

Val Hsmtmts is underrated and only trying to help and everyone is getting mad at her, yelling at her or giving her attitude. She was right they needed to walk it off after a long stressful day and the drama never would’ve went that far. Ashlyn was a weirdo for trying to shut her up.

side note: the way she was slapping everyones picture on the board but gently put Gina’s picture. She was team Gina the second she met her.

I’m so proud of Kourtney everyone else is so focused on ships but I’m proud of Kourtney. I’m happy for Maddox for getting some closure and making up with Jet. Proud of Carlos too (I can relate). Im happy that Gina knows what she wants. I still don’t like Ricky but im happy he finished his bucket list. Also Kourtneys song was wonderful and I want to hear her and maddox sing more.

I’m not excited about what’s his face getting ready to ruin a show the EJ literally gave up spending the summer with Gina for. Also it would be a big break for all our favs but guess it’ll go in the trash if what’s his face has anything to say.

Wonder if that’s why he’s been fired from different projects. Like if you’re so good why aren’t you still there? Anyways EJ needs to man up and speak to his dad and tell him what he wants to do because im pretty sure he does know he just doesn’t know how to tell his dad.

I liked the finale, it made me literally sob (although most of that was over EJ looking absolutely beaten down). But, I really think it should have ended before the "one month later" bit. And this isn't me being anti-Rina, in fact, I think that after all their build up they deserved a less rushed confession scene. The last part of this episode just felt so bizarre and I reckon they thought they weren't going to get a season 4 so they tried to wrap things up as best as they could, but a lot of it could have and really should have been left for season 4. But also, there were a lot of things that weren't wrapped up? It's very confusing.

Here are some things I really loved though (from a writing perspective):

Kourtney and her anxiety was handled so well this episode, and her performance of Let it Go gave me chills

EJ. Enough said, every scene with him made me cry.

The performance of Everyday made me cry as well, it was so cute, and so was the campfire scene (peep Corbin wearing one of Chad's shirts from the original hsm)

Nini getting Ricky the lottery ticket was a lovely send off for them

Ashlyn and Big Red are both bi! What a win

EJ and Ricky are brothers and I love them

Gina and Kourtney are sisters and I love them

Gina, Ricky and Corbin all putting Channing in his place was chefs kiss

I'm excited for season 4!!
