Dare I ask?... How would a relationship between Carine/Bella look, if it even were to happen, in another universe where everything is titled slightly to the left?
Thoughts on Carlisle/Bella. Thoughts on Bella's sexuality.
It'd have to really be tilted left.
Why?
Bella does come through as extremely bisexual, checking out the ladies and the dudes in equal measure, but oblivious in that she only notices when she's checking out Edward vice checking out Rosalie or Alice.
In other words, Bella is not realizing she's not straight (or Edwad-sexual for that matter) anytime soon. More than that, any other feelings she had would get in the way of her feelings for Edward (as we see with the whole Jacob debacle and what a dramafest that was).
So that's problem number one.
Problem number two is that Carine is posing as someone much older, is the matriarch of the family, and simply in a very different stage of life. She and Bella, in a canon-ish world, have no reason to run into each other without Edward and when Edward's in the picture it's all over.
We can't even go the Blue Moon route, as Edward would not ask Carine to sleep with his wife as Carine does not have the penis required to make this a heterosexual affair.
There's very little that might bring these two together.
That Said
If we were in a very AU world where Carine is not the matriarch of the Cullens and we don't have any Cullens, where her and Bella's destines somehow end up intertwined, then I suppose I can see it.
But like Carlisle/Bella, a lot of character development has to happen off screen and we have to be in vastly AU circumstances.

All versions of C/E are really great, but I think that Carlisle and Earnest get the least recognition. So I want to show them some love on this blog.

Carine/Aro? (I ship Carlisle/Aro, sure, but that's quite a different dynamic...)
Thoughts on why Aro likes Carlisle. Thoughts on Aro's sexuality.
Well, I think up front I'll say we're way off in headcanon land for this one. I can point to the links above, but this is a character we see very little of in canon interacting with another character we see very little of. To the point where if we start getting into flipped genders, I go shrug emoji. I can take a guess, but I'm acknowledging it's a guess no righter than anyone else taking stabs in the dark.
I personally don't see it.
I think Aro would like Carine very much, she'd still get to stay in Volterra, but Aro's just not into those breasts. Oh, Carine is a very beautiful woman, but per Life and Death descriptions she is very much a woman who you notice is a woman. She's described as having an hourglass figure and very large breasts. (Meyer... has a thing about the most beautiful female characters having BOOBS and Bella noticing them having BOOBS).
Every time Aro looks at Carine his brain tells him, "Yes, that is most definitely a woman right there." A very beautiful woman, his best friend and intellectual soulmate, but a woman.
Should they ever end up in a romance anyway I imagine Aro will be very very confused with himself because even he doesn't really know what's happening anymore.
He eventually just goes with it because, alright, he tends to go for men except in the case where he goes for Carine. He can work with this.
