They’re moving in together let’s gooooo! Another great weekend for Shoujosei stans with this, Kusuriya and Yubiren having amazing episodes.
After all the drama with the kidnapping plot the last couple weeks, it’s cool seeing Rishe and Arnold get an entire episode to themselves! The sparring match was great. I just can’t enough of how badass both of them are together. Arnold indulges and supports all of Rishe’s whims including those that are against traditional gender norms, like sword fighting. He held back a little, but still gave her genuine instruction. It’s crazy to think he’s nowhere near as strong as the Arnold she remembers from the past life!
Such a cute moment with him carrying over after she couldn’t stand. For someone who’s been thru life 7 times, Rishe sure as hell gets flustered a lot by Arnold, but can you blame her? Bro’s aura is insane and just oozes charisma.
“Then I shall lull you to sleep” Arnold hides it, but he’s under immense pressure and has a ton of stuff to do on a daily basis. It’s time for him to get spoiled for once. LOVED Rishe helping him go to sleep and wind down after a long day. It probably felt so good for Arnold to be treated like a kid when everyone usually handles him with such distance due to his position.
Rishe has no problem being in bed next to and even falling asleep next to him, but Arnold getting close up in her face is what makes her blush 😂 so much teasing today. Surprised she didn’t pass out from all that blood rushing to her face. She’s so damn cute.
The character designs looked so good today too during all these scenes, felt like they switched it up a little in those dark shadowy scenes and it worked so well! Especially when Rishe felt on Arnold’s scar.
gun to my fucking head u tell me "believe that seven in the past and seven as he is now are two seperate people and entities are not the same person and the past seven would have never been as kind or caring as the current seven became" i'll read you my will and testament right fucking there i do not care what anybody says to me that's the same bitch . that's the same motherfucker. have you ever looked in the mirror and asked yourself who you'd be if that didn't happen to you. if the tramua didn't hold you down everyday. if you lived a better life. that's what happened to seven. the same motherfucker who got a new start. that man was never some heartless killer , the man who was some "stone cold, heartless, steel-faced killer" who didn't care isn't hiding inside him because he does not exist. you can look. you will not find him. the director himself right the fuck now could say that to me and i wouldn't fucking believe him
there is EMPATHY in every action he takes in his past. the show does not make sense in any regard - in the way we pick it apart and comb over it like we always do - if he was just some heartless guy who lives on in the depths of seven who does not care. that boy would never only fight on missions. that boy would never refuse to draw his sword on redtooth until he had no other option. that boy would not consistently, and wordlessly spare bystanders who he understands are harmless and are stricken by their own emotions. and that boy would never, never go against every killer in the world to save a girl who he knew had been set out as a trap for him.
that's not a different seven that is seven in a worse scenario. he's not "unlocking his old personality" or "reverting to who he used to be" or "becoming a cold killer again" - he is once again put in the same scenario that poses danger to his life. seven is not moving backwards, nor unlocking something hidden in him - and i don't mean his memories, yes, he is gaining some back, but i mean the fundamental personality and "person" he was believed to be back then - history is repeating itself and his life is being shaped by the same inherent tragedy it once was. yes, he had one moment to laugh in season four. that does not mean he doesn't want to anymore, or can't, or won't, it means he will when he fucking can despite despite despite.
i'm so i'm going insane to a point i cannot put it into words but i dont i don't LIKE the thought process of "becoming who he used to be." or the concept that he was ever anyone else . that is unfalteringly, and indisputably seven. there's no other seven. his life was built around a world that was not fit for a fifteen year old with no visible or prominent family to be in, let alone one where at the age of fifteen he killed people to survive. there was ALWAYS a love in that man's heart but there was an inherent wall he learned to build around it. a wall that when he woke up on chicken island he did not feel the need to build. i feel like i cannot put this into words well enough
Mike being closed off, annoyed, defensive, and borderline irate a majority of the time throughout the series, is a defense mechanism.
It's because, if no one knows who Mike truly is at his core, then they cant judge or hurt who he truly is. It's a mask. They can hate him, but it's not even really him so... Jokes on them, right?
But Will. Will makes Mike feel like he's better for being different...
Mike evidently see's Will as someone that knows Mike at his core and still wants to be around him in part for those very qualities. This is the only person Mike has been able to consistently show a more vulnerable side of himself to, and it's because Will himself embodies those qualities that Mike is scared to reveal, out of fear that he will be judged for who he truly is.
All Mike's most vulnerable scenes? I can guarantee you will was present for almost all of them (definitely all of the major ones).
Mike is just not as honest in showing others how he is feeling quite like he is with Will. At the most he might lash out and hope it gets the people around him to leave him alone so that he can be honest with himself in the privacy of a moment with his own thoughts...
However, get Mike around Will and he's head in hands, literally the most vulnerable we ever see him.
once again thinking about how young before the beginning aziraphale seemed. once again on the verge of throwing up bc he was so fucking young. if you even care.
Theodore thought he had everything figured out lmao. Rishe ain’t live thru 7 lives for nothing. She broke out of that “prison” so easily.
This was probably the most wholesome possible ending for everything. No one seriously hurt and Theodore and Arnold finally come to understand each other fully.
Rishe playing family mediator was really sweet lol. Turns out Theodore just wanted the best for his older brother and was willing to do anything to accomplish that, even at his personal expense. Likewise Arnold didn’t want Theodore getting caught up in his plans and whatever it is that’s “dangerous” he’s intending to do.
Just what Arnold’s plans are remain a mystery and are kinda the central plot point right now. If it’s not a succession fight that causes war to break out, what will cause it? And they also still never explained what Theodore meant when he said Arnold killed their mother.. this show is such a soap opera and I love it.
“And I intend to live my life as your wife with no regrets” 😩 so many cute Rishe and Arnold moments after the Theodore situation was resolved. This brought them a whole lot closer. Arnold might as well just drop that promise not to touch Rishe at this point because bro is failing 😂
