**A Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack fanfic staring @the-spirit-of-adventure OC Missy and my personal OC Jillian! Please give Spammy a follow here and on Twitter/X @Spammykins**

Shouts and clashing metal filled the air as battle rang about the sea. Two long-time rival crews, the Screeching Sirens vs. the Bushy Beard Pirates.

“Stay still, you wench!” Captain Bushy barked, stabbing his sword at the woman in front of him. His personal arch-rival rival and not at all stand in on his feelings towards his mother, Captain Missy Benchir of the Screeching Sirens.

Dodging, the ginger cackled as she moved her waist from the jabs,

“Aye, what’s the matter, Bryle.” Missy mocked with a laugh, “Age finally catchin’’’ up to ye, old man?”

“I said stay still!” Bushy shouted, bringing down his sword only for it to be blocked by Missy’s sword.

“I know seals that fight better than ye!” She scoffed with a smirk, rolling out of dodge and leaping to strike.

Meanwhile, across the ship and on deck, was the cool of the ship also fighting for her dignity and crew.

With a throw of her arm, Jillian lassoed men left and right, however, there was one who grabbed the rope before the fall.

“Is that any way to treat a lover, lass?” The raven-haired man chuckled, pulling the rope towards him to reel the brunette before him.

“I wouldn’t call you a lover,” Jillian admitted as she dug her heels into the woods and haled the reeling, “More like a waste of three minutes.”

Pivoting, Jillian whipped the man over the railing and into the water.

Just as she watched the bearded pirate fly into the ocean, she took notice of a certain blue blob who was supposed to be below deck.

Before the ensuing battle, Captain Benchir had ordered her cabin monkey to stay below deck and away from battle.

While K’nuckles didn’t like it, he obeyed as it was the much safer and lazier option.

But give or take about two minutes and with his syrup gone, the blue man decided it wouldn’t hurt to sneak across the battle to get to the Syrup Vault in the kitchen.

So he tiptoed his way up the stairs, slithered out under the hatch, and began to crawl across the crowded battleground that was the main deck.

Men were shouting, women were letting out battle cries, cannons fired, and swords clashed.

It was pure chaos, and it was already spreading to him.

“Please don’t notice me, please don’t notice meeeeeeee!” He pleaded internally, hopping along on his belly like a seal.

Hiding behind a cannon, K’nuckles was spotted and charged at by a Bushy Beard pirate. In a desperate and stupid way to protect himself; he lit the cannon, leaving a wrecked hole just above the water.

“Oi! Crew, retreat to Stormalong, and prepare to make repairs!” Missy ordered, “We've got a hole as big as a treasure chest on the starboard side above the water, and I'll be blown if I'm lettin’ 'er sink!”

The crew scatters and retreats, making their way away from the enemy and to safe waters. As shipwrights began the repairs, the captain called for the rest of her crew to line up.

“Now, who did this!?” Missy spoke, arms crossed and eyes glaring, “Someone speak up! Otherwise, I'll have ye all walk the plank one by one!” She threatened.

A member speaks up, a thin young woman with straight black hair and sun-kissed skin.

“It was Skipper’s cannon!” She called out.

“Oh yeah!” Another woman chimed in.

“It was her cannon!” Said another.

“She posts pretty good headcannons.” Said a third.

“Oi!” Missy busted in with a sarcastic laugh, “Skipper left sickbay in three bloody days! The cannon just went off by itself, then?”

Stepping forward, Jillian met the gaze of her captain. Missy’s eyes burned into hers.

“I know who did it, Captain!” She spoke.

“Oh?” The ginger scoffed, “Then who?”

Turning her head, Jillian pointed at K’nuckles, causing him to freeze from obviously trying to sneak away.

“I saw canon boy over here shoot to save his own ass!”

“What!?” Missy roared, her eyes glowing red in anger, “That worthless piece of meat!”

“You have to punish him for this, Captain,” Jillian stated.

The captain clenched her fist, clearly upset and wanting to exact revenge; but also, wanting to protect the man she loved.

“K’nuckles,” Missy spoke.

“Ye-yeah, Riley?” K’nuckles stuttered, cowering from the ginger-haired woman.

“K’nuckles, ye can look forward to extra mopping and being on potato peeling duty for a month.”

“Are you kidding me!?” Jillian spat and without thinking, shivered her captain back by the shoulders.

“Are ye crazy??” Missy barked, the crew's attention snapping to her. “How dare ye suggest I have a soft spot for him!?”

The ginger then moved her attention from Jillian to the rest of the crew.

“The next one who opens their mouth gets an extra week of peeling potatoes! As for that no good scum-sucking pirate Knuckles, he may as well be a part of the crew cause we all know I ain't getting rid of him!”

She turned back to the curly-haired brunette,

“Now, cook, what's for supper??!”

Jillian fumed, her knuckles turning white in her fists as her neck flushed,

“I ain’t cookin’ nothin’ until that blue blob is gone!” She replied with a stomp.

A vein in Missy’s neck popped as her blood began to boil, never in her career has another woman disrespected her like this!

“I'll shove that blue blob up your arse if you don't shut it you miserable little bilge rat!” Missy threatened, approaching Jillian with her fists at her sides, “Knuckles ain't going nowhere and you know it, so get in the bloody kitchen you rat-faced bilge swiller, and get cookin'! I don't care what you make, just make it edible!”

The cook was visibly taken aback by this, her jaw dropping and tears pricking up in her eyes as she was now nose-to-nose with her captain.

Taking a deep breath and closing her eyes, Jillian met Missy’s gaze.

“It’s him or me, Missy.” She said softly.

The ginger-haired woman’s eyes darkened dangerously as her face now took on a scowl.

Suddenly, the spotter called for Stormalong.

An announcement that would change fate.

“So be it!” Captain Benchir ruled, pointing jaggedly at her now former cook, “You've been nothing but trouble since ye joined me crew. I think 'tis best that you leave and I have no doubt that me good buddy K'nuckles will take your spot with pleasure!”

All Jillian could do was hang her head in disappointment, whether it was towards herself or to Missy could be anyone’s guess.

“Fine.” The brunette muttered as she held back tears, “I’ll pack mah bag and be gone when we hit Stormalong.”

Soon enough, the Miss Fortune docked in Stormalong.

With her suitcase and cookbook in tow, Jillian descended the ramp and onto the dock.

“Good riddance!” The ginger-haired woman shouted, her fist in the air, “Go on, get off me ship! Don't let me see you hanging around waiting for me either!” She continued with a broken deep breath, “Ye scoundrel, I know you still have feelings for me! You're not nearly as good at hiding them as ye think!”

Wiping around with tearful eyes, Jillian exclaimed,

“I don’t hide my feelings! I let people know how I feel and that’s better than bottling up all yours!”

“You think you know me so well, don't ye?” Missy replied sarcastically, “You think your words are going to melt my heart do ye!?”

Scoffing, the cook marched away from the ship with nothing but a knapsack, the clothes on her back, a cookbook, and tears in her eyes.

Jillian didn’t know what would come of her life at the moment but she did know one thing.

She wouldn’t be setting sail anytime soon.

Missy watches on, biting her lip to keep her from crying. She couldn’t show the guilt and regret she felt. As the ship pulls away, she swears to herself that she is the last crew member to walk away from her.

‘Maybe it is time to take a good hard look at myself and become the captain I was meant to be,’ she thought to herself, ‘Who treats her crew properly and would never let feelings get in the way of running a tight ship.’

Evolves from Brionne when exposed to a Shiny Stone.

This Pokemon is far larger than Primarina, even though they both evolve from Brionne. Their native region is quite far from Alola, though that doesn't stop this Pokemon from habitually swimming the whole distance in a single trip without resting. They make shows of lifting heavy objects and completing other feats of strength, including digging channels through solid rock with their bare fists. However, they tend not to exude their full strength unless they're performing for an audience. They are known to get into feuds with Malamar, though they tend not to fare well against the psychic Pokemon.

Portions of The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack pitch bible that Thurop Van Orman made to sell the show to Cartoon Network

Starshine Silvar, the mermaid cop who uses her brains & sex appeal to stop the criminals of Stormalong and would have a love-hate relationship with our curmudgeon tall tale spewing captain, made two appearances in some early season 1 episodes, Footburn and Revenge. The latter of which had her name tattoo’d on K’nuckles and seen after the pirate robber Flapjack accidentally helps to catch And The Wise Crackers were seen in Several Leagues Under the Sea in which they served their purpose and again in Revenge in which one of them tells flapjack that he’s a nice guy

1. dr barber is trans (i will not hesitate)

2. I ABSOLUTELY ADORE CAPTAIN K'NUCKLES and i also adore how much of a coward he is, in a way. and that's why i kinda think that he is not much aware of what 'human morals' are, because he is more like a sea creature animal that at one point of his life just went 'fuck it, i'm human now'. he learnt human language bc previously he used to just communicate by barking and growling, he is able to go feral, he is able to do stuff that humans are sick of doing, like consuming raw flesh or feeling comfortable sleeping in a trash barrel. his biology differs far from human-like, so his skin is literally just. grey-blue. but he's not like a real animal like a seal, this variant is more like a fun theory (mine too lol), he's just a mythic beast that decided to turn alcoholic. flapjack doesn't see him as such, he still thinks he's an average great adventurer man due to his naivety, but he personally likes to think that k'nuckles is a dog man. a man that is like a dog. he bites

3. dr barber is trans and gay (still will not hesitate) and married to candy colleague. i like to think that colleague is still alive please let him stay alive

4. peppermint larry has anxiety disorder (but undiagnosed and considered just 'weird' because that's the middle ages setting we're talking 'bout)

5. talking about middle ages, dr barber probably was the first one to actually invent an idea of top surgery, and practiced it on himself. he included it in his surgeon book, but yet he is uncomfortable to actually come out to anybody, 1 because he prefers to keep his identity in private 2 he doesn't trust anybody lol, especially in stormalong & everyone already sees him as male and he doesn't have the need to overshare something like this that no one educated abt

6. candy colleague, on the other hand, knows about doc being trans, 1 because julius actually trusts him, 2 because uhhh y'know, 3 he is great at keeping secrets because literally no one can hear his voice except dr barber lol

I fixed up some of my New American Cryptids, and designed a few new fellows.

The five Alcatraz Sirens were former escapees who were lost in the San Francisco Bay. Their songs sound like accordions and drills, haunting the piers of the City by the Bay.

The two Gardner Thieves appear as police officers and can slip in and out of buildings without being caught. They walk out of the fog on Saint Patrick’s Day and may steal things both priceless and worthless.

The Max Headroom Hijacker was a broadcast pirate who has never been identified. They can crawl out of error screens and radios tuned to static.

Cooper the Jumper was better known as D. B. Cooper, the man who jumped from a plane with a ransom and disappeared into the night above Oregon. He can fall any distance and appear any place for the price of twenty bucks.

The Anthrax Messenger was a silent killer who hopped through the mail system. They can flit through any slit or crack small enough to admit a fly.

Pilot Earhart went down with her plane into the Pacific Ocean and was never seen again. She usually looks like nothing more than a puff of exhaust and the whir of a propeller.

I’ve hammered out a few other designs elsewhere: Johnny Appleseed, Molly Pitcher, Paul Bunyan, and Captain Stormalong, most notably. I’ll probably show them later.

Today’s random item is the headband. Funnily enough, ever since I came back from Walt Disney World last Sunday, I’ve been toying with the idea of creating outfits based on the resorts as I’ve done quite a few Disneybound looks in the past and wanted to do something slightly different but still Disney-related. I feel the resorts are a good idea as they all have different themes.

So, when I saw that today’s item was a navy headband, I figured I might as well give my idea a try and decided to create an outfit inspired by Disney’s Yacht Club, which is one-half of the Disney Yacht & Beach Club (two hotels that share amenities like the amazing Stormalong Bay). The Yacht Club has a New England nautical theme, and I feel like the colours of this outfit and the overall look reflect this theme well without going for the captain look of the greeter.

One detail that might not be nautical-themed is the earrings, which are more of a wink to the curtains you find in the room. The print of the curtains is constellations, but not the ones you are familiar with. These constellations are actually Disney constellations. For example, the Simba-shaped constellation is named “Lionus Regalis” while the Pluto-shaped one is “Houndus Loyalus”. Since I would have brought those original curtains back with me if I could have, I decided to pay them a small tribute in this outfit.

Based off of the Annie Oakley, she was known for her incredible markmanship.

Buffalo Bill Cody

Based off of the man of the same name, he was known for his abilities as a soldier, hunter, and showman of the Wild West.

Calamity Jane

Based off of Martha Jane Canary, she is know for her aquaintence to Wild Bill Hicockok and being a top notch frontiersmen and scout.

Captain Stormalong

A giant nautical figure with a large clipper ship known for his many adventures on the seas.

Charlie Chan

A Hawiian figure based on Chan Apana, he is known as a great detective and solver of mysteries.

Cordwood Pete

A lesser figure, he is brother to Paul Bunyan.

Daniel Boone

Based off of, well, Daniel Boone who was a pioneer explorer and frontiersman that had many great adventures.

Davy Crockett, King of the wild frontier

Based off the man of the same name, he was a frontiersman, soldier, and politican that represented tennessee; he took part in the Texas revolution and Battle of the Alamo.

Jigger Johnson

Based off of the real Jigger Johnson, he was a lumberjack and log driver known for his off the job exploits.

John Henry

Based off of the African-American steel driver, John Henry, he is known for his strength, work ethic, and most of all going head-to-head in a race and winning against a steam powered hammer that was threatening to put man railroad workers out of work.

John the Conqueror

An African-American figure known for his trickster ways to gain and maintain his freedom from the slave masters, possibly the inspiration for the Br're Rabbit.

Johnny Appleseed

Based off of John Chapman, he is credited for planting forests of cider apples across multiple states.

Johnny Kaw

A settler of Kansas, he is credited for shaping the state's landscape and making wheat and sunflowers major crops.

Lone Ranger

Possibly based on Bass Reeves, he is known for his battles against raiders, robbers, and other criminals.

Mike Fink, King of the keelboaters

River boatman and brawler that personified the men that ran keelboats on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.

Molly Brown

A lesser figure known for her time on and survival of the Titanic.

Molly Pitcher

Thought to be based off of a woman named Mary Hays or possibly a college of many couragous women, she is known for her part in the American Battle of Monmouth.

Paul Bunyan and Babe the Oxe

Created by the lumberjacks and woodsmen of Canada and the US, and thought by some to be based off of Bon Jean of French-Canadian folklore. He is known for his giagantic stature, immense strength and endurance, large appatite, and feats of logging with his faithful, loyal, and hardworking companion Babe the Ox.

Pecos Bill

A cowboy known for being able to ride anything into submission, he lassoed and rode a tornado until it dissipated.

Stagger Lee, Stagolee

An African-American figure known for being a big shot in the criminal underworld and murdering an aquaintence for trying to take his hat.

Zorro

Based off of salomon Pico and other mexican bandits in the California area, he was known for combatting the corruption in the political and wealthy circles in California.

Funny dream I had

Okay so I barely remember much. I know I wrote it down somewhere but I'm too lazy to go get it. But I simply MUST tell the world. So the dream starts, I KNOW something happened, but it was cut off. After that segment was over I was suddenly in my elementary schools library. The shelves were short and it smelled the same. I think the scholastic book fair was happening or something because there were alot of new book displays! So I walk around a bit, and find this small round table with a dark red book ontop! And all it read was "The Life of Captain K'nuckles". So you know I just HAD to snatch it and look into it. The book was so nice too. It was a hardcover book! With the title in cursive and gold. And it had a picture of K'nuckles hat with dramatic lighting on the cover. I turned it around and there was a description on it. Still that same fancy cursive writing. And you know how sometimes books will have tiny reviews on it? It had reviews from different characters in stormalong! One from Flapjack, one from Bubbie, and one from Dr.Barber. Peppermint Larry I guess didnt read it. I mean why would he? I dont fully remember the reviews but from what I know, they were positive accept for Bubbie who I think made some snarky comment. ANYWAYS! I read the description. And it read and I quote

"Why did my parents give me such a british sounding name?"

SIR??? WHAT??? I have no idea why my brain decided he'd say that. Still bamboozled, I open the book. And it was so adorable, next to the numbers of the pages, was a tiny silouette of K'nuckles. So every page just had a tiny him on it. It was so well made I wish it was real. I honestly woke up and contimplated if I really did just go to my elementary school and get the book. Unfortunately...it was all a dream.

Famous Cartoon Characters with Big Noses Some are well-known Cartoon characters with large noses have found a perpetual place in our hearts and will continue to reign over the world of cartoons 15. Hugh Neutron Hugh Neutron is tall and has a long nose. His glasses are perfect because of his long nose. His hair and eyes are both brown. Because of his eccentricities, he prefers to live life his way. He forgets things all the time. Two things are his favorite: ducks and pies. He is the father figure to Jimmy in the Jimmy Neutron series. 14. Dick Dastardly Hanna Barbera Productions created several animated series in which Dick Dastardly plays an anti-hero. He was most well-known for his appearances in Wacky Racings. He plays the role as a driver in races to be first. The name of his car is ‘The Mean Machine,’ and the number of the car is 00. He had hoped to win every race but failed. His nose is visible only partially. The illustrators created the criminal look by making the nose slightly longer than the average. He has a mustache and wears a blue coat with red gloves.  13. Nigel Thornberry The Wild Thornberrys' Nigel Archibald Thornberry is featured in nearly every episode. He is 47 and has dedicated his whole life to wild animals. He is a complete skeptic. He is distinguished by his distinctive red hair and bushy mustache. His big nose makes him stand out. Also, being the show’s narrator, he will do anything to save the life of his wife and daughter. Characters in the show wear khaki shirts and green shorts.  12. The Little Man (Pink Panther). The character ‘The Little Man’ in the Pink Panther cartoon was officially renamed later as ‘Big Nose’ because of the large nose. He is mostly presented as an antagonist. Sometimes he is just a bystander, and in most of the episodes, he ends up being the target of Pink Panther’s mischievous acts. The character doesn’t speak as the show, in general, has little to no dialogues. The little man usually wears nothing but, sometimes, he may wear costumes to suit his character's needs.    11. CAPTAIN K’NUCKLES Captain K’nuckles is a bad-tempered old pirate. He lives in Stormalong Harbor. If you want to see him in action, you can watch the animated series ‘The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack’. Stormalong Harbor is where the show's main location. The story of Flapjack, a young boy, who sets sail to Candied Island. He is the cabin boy of Captain K’nuckles. Captain’s nose size convinced us to have him in the list of big nose cartoons.   10. SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS SpongeBob SquarePants the main character of the animated series is named after him. He is a friendly sea sponge and works as a fry chef at the Krusty Krab. He first appeared in the episode ‘Help Wanted’ in 1999. Stephen Hillenburg was the creator of this cartoon character. SpongeBob’s aim in life is to get his driving license from boating school. He is our most optimistic man. 10. MR. BURNS Charles Montgomery Burns is the owner and World War II veteran of Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. He is the main antagonist of the American animated series ‘The Simpsons’. Matt Groening was the creator of this evil cartoon character. He is a very old and weak person but he uses ruthless tactics to get what he wants. You may be asking yourself, "What is he doing in the list of big nose characters?" His long, beak-like nose is perfect for our list. 9. NIGEL THORNBERRY Sir Nigel Thornberry is one of the main characters of ‘The Wild Thornberrys’. He is the host of ‘Nigel Thornberry’s Wild World’. Nigel, 47 years old, has mustache and red hair. He is a passionate admirer of wild animals, and his entire life has been spent studying them. Eliza Thornberry is the animated series' main character. If you want to see Nigel in action, you can also watch ‘The Wild Thornberrys Movie (2002)’. 8. DICK DASTARDLY Dick Dastardly is the cartoon character, first appeared in the animated series ‘Wacky Races’. He is the show's principal antagonist. Joseph Barbera and William Hanna created this evil character. Dick’s facial structure inspired from the English actor Terry-Thomas and fictional character Professor Fate. 7. Mr. Bean (Cartoon). Mr. Bean, the animated series, is based upon the British sitcom of the same name. The animated series centers on four main characters: Mr. Bean himself and his teddy Irma Gobb. Mrs. Wicket is his landlady. Mr. Bean is the most famous of all animated characters. Cartoon characters with large noses. He wears his brown tweed jacket with a red tie. Mr. Bean speaks very little and only occasionally uses mumbled words. These animated series are known for their unusual approaches to everyday tasks. Bean is not mentioned as an extraterrestrial being.    6. Dr. Doofenshmirtz Heinz Doofenshmirtz (also known as Dr. Doofenshmirtz) is 47-year-old evil scientist from Drusselstein. His main job is in an office, but he also works to ensure his plans work. He wants to cause havoc throughout the Tri-State Area. He is dedicated to his work but his enemies Perry the Platypus made his plans fail. He has coconut-shaped, brown hair, round eyes and a bigger nose than the average scientist. 5. PHINEAS FLYNN Phineas flynn is a Danville student. Ferb Fletcher, his step-brother. They are the main characters of the animated series ‘Phineas and Ferb’. They are part of the Flynn–Fletcher family. Phineas first appeared in the ‘Rollercoaster’ episode of the show. Dan Povenmire created and designed this cartoon character. Phineas’ large pointy nose made him capable to be in the list of famous cartoons with big noses. 4. Ferb Fletcher The cartoon character is one the two main characters of the show. Ferb Fletcher is from an English family and currently resides in Danville, America. His constant companions include his parents and two step-siblings Phineas Flynn and Candace Flynn. Ferb may appear shy, but he's very brave. His nose is large, and his big, round eyes are the most distinctive features of his face. He is calm and steady even in difficult situations.  3. GOOFY Goofy, a male cartoon character, was created in 1932. Walt Disney was the creator of the cartoon. The first appearance of him was in Mickey’s Revue (1932). Goofy is a very funny dog. He has names like Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse on his friend list. He is a member of the Goof family. His wife is Mrs. Geef, and his son is Max Goof. You can see the movie to see him in action. A Goofy Movie (1995). He earned his place on the list of cartoon characters with big noses. 2. SQUIDWARD TENTACLES Squidward, a male Octupus, is the character. This cartoon character is part of the popular TV series SpongeBob SquarePants. Stephen Hillenburg was the one who created this character. Stephen Hillenburg is a marine animator and biologist. Mr. Tentacles works as a cashier and lives near SpongeBob SquarePant’s House. He first appeared in the “Help Wanted” episode in 1999. Squidward Tentacles can be seen in action in his 2004 film The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. 1. BILLY Billy, a silly little boy from Endsville, is an example of a sarcastic person. His IQ is extremely low. When we think about his friends, Mandy is his best friend and Grim his worst enemy. You can watch Billy in action. Check out the American animated series ‘The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy’. His curiosity causes him to get into trouble, which he cannot escape. HAPPY SUMMERWEEN!  (click to embiggen)

This year the theme is “Tall Tales and Legends”, and so, we have:

Dipper as Pecos Bill.  One of the tales involves Pecos Bill using a rattlesnake as a lasso (the snake's name is Shake, which leads me to believe the snake is kind of okay with this? In this case, Mabel created a plush version for Dipper to carry.)

Mabel is Annie Oakley, who was a real person, but around whom legends have grown.  Famous as a sharpshooter, nicknamed “Little Sure-Shot”, I figured Mabel would be into that connection.  Plus her outfit is awesome (that skirt with the rose applique is one that we have photos of Oakley wearing).

Stan is dressed as Captain Alfred Bulltop Stormalong, a legendary giant sailor from New England, who is mostly remembered today as the subject of sea shanties (and also the name of a hard cidery here in Massachusetts).  Stormalong was the sea-going Paul Bunyan -- 30 feet tall, his ship was so big its mast had to be hinged to let the sun and the moon pass by.  Stormalong had a lifelong rival with the Kraken... and so one of the young Pacific tree octopuses (from 2020′s Stan Twins Birthday pic) is hitching along as a guest star in the role.

Speaking of giants... Ford, of course, is Paul Bunyan, with Waddles obviously done up by Mabel to play the part of Babe the Blue Ox.  I’d like to think that Ford develops the same kind of fondness that Stan has for Paul Bunyan, who after all, with the statue in town, is a Gravity Falls fixture.

Finally, Fiddleford is Johnny Appleseed -- another real person around whom legends grew. John Chapman really did go from state to territory to state in the early 19th c., introducing apple trees to parts of the upper midwest.  (And speaking of hard cider -- I read an interesting theory that most of the varieties that John Chapman planted were not really good eating apples, but would have been more valuable for hard cider-making, which was a staple at the time.)  Anyway, Fiddleford was halfway to the look already.

The Tall Tales theme was a lot of fun to research and do.  And I can never resist folkloric stuff for Gravity Falls; it just fits so well!
