Sam Wilson is Captain America.

Captain America 4 is Sam’s movie.

At this point, the main thing we need to be hoping/thinking about/worried about etc. is that Sam gets a good story, and Sam gets to be front and center, and that Sam gets more development. Sam should get a love interest and friends, and more time with his family. Sam should be shown talking to Isaiah, and developing a relationship with Eli, and mentoring and Joaquin. Sam. Sam. SAM.

We all like what and who we like, but this is Sam’s movie and Sam’s time to shine. Period.

I step back into the MCU after a little hiatus, and I am immediately hit in the face with the MCU relying on antisemitic tropes and Rhodey jokingly threatening to carpet bomb a country himself.

*Checks watch* About that umpteenth time to address the clear prejudice in how y’all bigots online refuse to honor Sam as Captain America and want to cling onto Steve still being Cap only if it boots out Sam.

Bonus: Chris Evans since forever continuously telling us it is no longer his role and that Sam/Anthony is Cap, but still being asked if he is going to be Cap again after saying no.

Bonus^2: Comics Steve adoring Sam and passing the role onto him while continuing to support him when alive. Chris supporting Anthony and men of the cast having an emotional moment about the shield being passed on. In fact, everyone ever in the cast who’s worked with Anthony adoring him.

Bonus^3: The fact that Cap’s tenure has been passed to many nonwhite characters throughout the writing history and none of them have received this same level of disrespect and refusal of acknowledgement. Some of y’all will even refer to Bucky as Cap and not Sam and that man literally spent 5-6 episodes convincing us (albeit ferally) why Sam is Cap and everything Steve believed in.

Are y’all well? Release that racial bias shit and embrace Sam. Or, suffer from the back pain of carrying bigotry.

So two of my most anticipated MCU projects coming in Phase 5/6 is Cap 4 and Armor Wars.

And as expected, too many people are already making this about RDJ or Chris Evans returning or cameoing or appearing is some (voiceover) form.

And as much as I personally DO NOT want either of them to come back (please stop looking backwards and move the MCU forwards), I can see both choosing to return. Not for any plot or 'for the fans' reasons or even money necessarily. Nope. I see it happening when either RDJ or Evans need the clout or the star power boost.

They don't want it now. Neither one even voiced their characters in What if.

But...

As soon as the flops start piling up, they'll want back in. Neither one are consistent box office or critical success stories outside of Marvel.

My concern is, as soon as those two dudes decide on a whim that they want back in, Marvel will bend over backwards for them and, in doing so, throw Sam and Rhodey (i.e. Anthony and Don) under the bus to get their big Steve and Tony reunion.

And that annoys me. Because I can see it happening clear as day. And people talking constantly about Evans and RDJ popping up in each and every MCU project only adds more power to their hand.

I just want Sam and Rhodey, and Anthony and Don, to have their moment. Their films. Their characters explored and in the spotlight unimpeded. The others each had three solo films and four Avenger films. Step aside and stay there.

i wish marvel was only known for eddie brock and venom. not thor or captain shitpants or whateve.r. venom 1 and 2 were so fucking delicious

#marvel's been my hyperfixation since i was 12 but ever since the last year or two it's just been so disappointing #and marvel treats their characters like shit. like SHIT. so many missed opportunities so many things that needed to be said but weren't #marvel phase 4 or whatever just makes me wanna throw up in my mouth #i've only seen maybe 3 movies in phase 4 and the only one that was worth watching was spiderman no way home #everything else was shit. SHIT I TELL YOU #falcon and the winter soldier wasn't bad . lots of bucky content and sam wilson becoming the new captain america was refreshing ig #wandavision was good too but at the end of the day. these shows were not very memorable to me #dont get me started on loki . i hate marvel so much for what the y put him through in that show and i physically cannot watch any movie #wuth loki in it bc the more i analyze the more i see that marvel's villains do not have any depth whatsoever. the use the same tropes :(#which is sad bc loki had such potential and i love him to death #i still love loki but im done with marvel for a while. the fake scenarios & versions of these characters that i've made up in my head are #better than aynthing marvel can come up with anyway <3 #loquitur
