15: spiderverse! every single component of it is good enough to be a standalone movie just by itself. my favorite thing tho is probably how they had such a focus on style. alot of 3d animation only uses animation as a medium to tell a story in, but instead, they built the movie around it, and it really shows i think

lemme put it this way: alot of 3d-animated films could have been made as 2d-anim or live-action or comic or even a book or whatever, like illumination’s films: they’re fine, but all of those films could translate to any other medium. spiderverse made a very specific stylistic choice: the blend of 3danim and comicbook features makes it so special, because no other medium except the specific blend of 3d and comic could capture that film the way they did

(im gonna cut it short bcs there's 3 other qs, but spiderverse is a masterpiece in every way and analyzing the whole thing and all its intricacies would take a novel)
