FORGOTTEN LAND'S SECOND ANNIVERSARY :3

I AM SOOOO BACK

I started this drawing yesterday around afternoon and finished it just a few minutes earlier.

I went with a messier type of drawing instead of more clean like the elfilin one from yesterday, i find it fun doing it like this, mostly cause i dont have to worry about making it perfectly so i dont get as frustrated as normal. Id place this one as my second best digital drawing. im pretty sure i havent posted what i consider my best digital drawing here, tho i do have it in instagram, i might post it here one day, tho these two are way too tied up, i love how this came out, its not exactly like how i imagined it but its really close to it, and also itd say that since i dont tend to play around lighting that much, this was such a joy to draw and i cant help but stare at it a lot, at least until i start hating it because i made quite a lot of errors. i also changed my elfilis gijinka just a tad bit from last time, but its not that big of a difference, mostly.

ofc i had to draw elfilis for forgotten land's anniversary, i tend to deny it in my head but yeah they're my fave of the kirby characters even tho i hate them a bit. I wanted to draw some more doodles, like, elfilis eating cake, kirby car, a bunch of other stuff (not elfilin cuz i already drew him yesterday) but when i tried i couldnt draw anything more, guess this drawing burned me out a lot, huh?

you can definitly tell i spent all the efforts on him cuz if you look a bit closer to the bottom part you'll see its almost barely detailed, but i mean, they're the focus so make sense i guess for me not add that much detail there. um also, maybe because i dunno i had OVER 130 LAYERS jeez no wonder firealpaca was slowing down so much, i need to manage my layers better next time, tho i did do something i keep forgetting, wich is naming them (most of them at least) that was a real life saver

Also, antares (fecto elfilis' spear/cadaceus), as always, was a pain to draw, but this time its probably been draw the most accurate out of every other drawing ive made with it in it, i didnt notice it was like, a little curved when it reached the blade

fun fact! actually, this is technically a redraw, somewhere around between february and march i started a fecto elfilis drawing for the first anniversary, but i couldnt finish it in time, and i never finished it

thats...quite the improvement! (i remember being so proud of it)

also his wings are like that cuz i did not want to draw the pattern, its way too hard, i literally copy pasted it, wait, i was talking about the 2024 version but i looked at the 2023 one and i just noticed it also has the pattern copy pasted, i guess some stuff never changes since i still abuse the ctrl+c ctrl+v to this day

Also i ended up making a huge error there, i was planing to add the phantom spears from orbital pulsar (the attack he does first when you battle them at lab discovera) but theres an innacuracy, when they do the attack, they always close their eyes, i had actually sketched him (well i mean both these drawings are basically the first sketch (2023) or second sketch(2024) with some color, shadows and lighting. i didnt do lineart in the 2024 one cuz i wanted to be a bit like the og i made (too bad i sketched that one with black since the og was sketched with white due to me drawing the bg first)) with his eyes closed but them decided to make them open for a reason i cant remember, maybe i thought itd look nicer? idk

ive had the idea of redrawing this for quite some month now so it was kinda already planned

background cuz i think it came out really pretty

doesnt have the little stars since without elfilis and the structures it looks fucked up. the actual sky in game is more blue, but the clouds have some orange, in the 2023 ver. i made the sky orange, and in the 2024 ver i wanted it more accurate, but i didnt wanna loose the orange sky, so i did a gradient. pretty...

also here's a screenshot i took when i was like halfway trough it, its barely noticeable but i changed his mouth in the final drawing

I really love katfl, like a buncha whole lot, its basically almost my first mainline kirby game. 100% the demo, finished the game in almost one day, i literally play it monthly, like, every month i put the card in my switch, start it up, get morpho sword, and go shred elfilis in lab discovera. i would probably not even be here on tumblr and the kirby fandom if it werent for it. and i love it so much i genuinly cannot express how much i like it and treasure it with words or anything

Hi, um idk if you’re in the mood to write this and you don’t have to if you don’t feel the energy to, but could I request a story where its Latino male reader x Loki?

Like where its smut and the plot is that the reader speaks Spanish everytime he and Loki “do it” just to tease and fluster Loki, and the reader always feels proud of himself.

But a few nights go by and Loki really wants to learn how to speak Spanish; not only because it can be a way to communicate with the reader better but to get back at him and remind him who’s in power. (So like a smut and power kink story basically). And Loki takes lessons from one of the readers’ family members (but they don’t tell the member the reason ofc)

And then when the night comes, and the reader and Loki are invited to come to this super fancy party with the Avengers, and the whole night, the reader decides to tease Loki discreetly and later, Loki can’t tolerate it any longer so they both teleport back to the tower, and blah blah blah they start to have steamy sex.

Loki then decides to tease him and starts whispering Spanish in his ear all seductively: and suddenly the reader gets all shy. And then they do it, and the end there’s the obvi aftercare, and they live happily ever after :)

He hummed, the bartender nodding and pouring your drinks, passing them to you both before walking off to deal with other people at the bar.

"Thinking of all the the things we could be doing if we weren't here."

oh gosh. i'm not sure, but i know it definitely WILL affect their parenting... i think at first donnie will find himself just... deferring to his partner a LOT in almost any situation because he's afraid that he'll fuck it up, because he DOESN'T feel like he understands proper boundaries or what parenting is supposed to look like, etc etc etc, and he's afraid he'll mess up. he probably reads a TON of parenting books as well because RESEARCH and will often try to pull directly from them in any situation he can, and is confused when things don't go exactly the way they were described in the text... leo i think kind of tends to flounder between being overprotective and feeling the desire to protect his son from everything and anything and wanting to overcorrect this tendency by pulling back and trying to give him as much freedom and space as possible, which sometimes leads to some... inconsistencies. there's definitely a learning curve for both of them, but they both get the hang of it eventually. they both have lovely partners and a very loving and supportive family to help them and they'll figure it out with a bit of practice.

i like to imagine them all staying very close, especially coz i'm loosely planning on them all going through the kraang-apocalypse together (and then coming through to the other side!) so i can't imagine them ever drifting too far from each other, emotionally or geographically. there's a bit of a rocky start for a lot of them, but all of the siblings end up a very tight-knit bunch.

im nuts and also made a tufkin texture mod. its very funny because they have no arms

animations that rely on the arms existing are very silly but most everything else works surprisingly great???

i actually finished the textures for this mod well before uglette just because i barely had to draw anything for this. teensies consist of a grand total of three sheets (and i forgot to replace one of them so you just kinda turn wizard teensy mode when you die) and since i could literally omit half the sheet the drawing process was really quick

also i figured out the issue with the crispness that i had with uglette i literally just had to enable mipmaps i think

i do wanna make the other rayman 3 teensies, so far i only have a sylkin made (with no hat i literally cant get it working!!!) and... i think the only other one i could make realistically is griskins even if thatd look janky

like. look at nookins they still have arms but no sleeves. i cant get that working without the arms detaching from the hands constantly (and thered be the issue of not having a hat anyways, even sylkins dont have hats sometimes but thats not the case for nookins ever it seems)

on a sorta related note me and my friends played origins together through steam remote play yesterday with my uglette mod and i am So frickin proud of how it turned out actually

its also very funny that bc of the crispness you can literally tell which of the tiny little mosquitoes is for uglette. ill fix it i think but its so funny

Im impressed by how much you're art evolved to today, do you still think about your art in the past and how you evolved to today to obtain this level of quality and story telling ?

Thank you very much! :D It always means a lot when other people tell me my art has improved over time. I feel like I can definitely see it in little ways. It's just super nice and cool when other people see improvement too! Like wow it's not just me, I really have come a long way with my art.

But yeah, I do think a lot about the art I did in the past and how I got to where I am today. It's really fascinating to me how the skills that kind of come naturally now were all things I had to learn over time. Like to some extent, I can just "feel out" where facial features go now without thinking too much about it, whereas in the past, I know I had a lot more trouble with that. I feel like I tended to draw eyes too big and I had a really weird way of drawing noses. I don't know. I also had pretty bad same-face syndrome I think. But yeah.

When I'm sketching in my sketchbook, I like to flip through the whole thing and look at all the sketches I've done in the past couple years/months and look at the way they've evolved over time in a "big picture" way. It's cool. I think it's especially because although it's a little more than just a hobby now, a good deal of the improvement came solely from my passion and excitement to just bring ideas to life. I was never really "practicing just to practice", and although I did do little studies based on photos from time to time, most of it was just me noticing things and picking things up from the real world but also from art styles I really enjoyed. And wanting to create something that meant something, and just trying until I was happy with it. Like I definitely never had "natural talent" - that doesn't exist - but I've always had a passion to create, and I feel like the act of drawing as a way of expressing my ideas has always come kind of naturally to me, probably because I did it so much when I was younger. It's always been my "thing". It's just cool to see that passion I've always had turn into art that I'm really proud of today!

Yooo!!!! Anyone wanna see all the assets I made for the first part of my hikaru visual novel!

First of all, I was honestly surprised by how few I had. Even then, theres a lot I wouldve wanted to put more effort into. Its good this is just a prologue then, as it let me figure out what worked for me

These are all six Hikaru sprites I made for this first part of the game. I really like all of them, except the angry sprite, which I struggled with the posing of (might try redrawing it). Her design was pretty simple, I went off the show pretty closely while changing a few of the colors slightly. I decided pretty early on not to shade my sprites, so I would feel more confident about making more. I also decided to give her two more neutral sprites, one a bit more serious, so I could switch between them for different emotional moments in dialogue.

Ryo only got three sprites, which is a testament to how much I hate drawing this man and how much. well. he really just had some of the easiest emotional beats for me to capture. I like his neutral sprite (the first one) the best and am very proud of it!

Madokas sprites... I love them, but now I'm worried because I realized I want to give her a different, maybe slightly more grown up design for later portions. I worry that her using her fusion outfit accidently complicates people's understanding of when this takes place. Either way, if i want to change her, I'll just change her, but dnndlbgbgdjgjlbs sorry for any confusion that might cause. Im actually very happy with all her sprites! Her thinking sprite was the funnest to come up with

These are my backgrounds. Im sure you can tell which ones I had screenshots to base them on. I'm very proud of Madoka's workshop, but otherwise, I plan to work on my background skills a lot. They're very fun and I want to improve at them!

Now, there are two more art assets im not posting here, which are the two ending cgs. So if you want them... Well actually the video only includes the good one but i have a video of the good ending on my blog! please go check it out! the game is also posted to my discord server.

As a bonus though! Here are some development drawings.

In the first draft, I used a completely different sort of sprite shot. I also directly color picked from her reference with no changes. And I hadnt figured out how to draw her hair.

So these first drafts included a lot of changes to Madoka's design... that I just forgot to include in my redraws. Welp, next time you see her, she might be beat up! I had a lot of solid concepts for what i wanted her sprite work to look like, so just transferred that into my redraws.

It’s super inspiring seeing the development process for your books and it’s definitely pushed me to pursue that in my own work as well.

I was curious to hear more about your own art journey into erotic art and writing. I am trying to lean more in telling adult stories but am finding that I’m fighting a lot against the “pressure” of keeping that aspect of my art separated from the rest.

I’ll still keep fighting against that pressure (it’s definitely been a process) but I’m wondering when and how did you conscientiously decided “yes, this is what I want to do and it’s what feels right?”

the funny answer for how i got into producing porn more actively is "i started T". that second puberty is no fucking joke and you Will be clawing at the walls of your own libido that first year. i'd been drawing/writing adult work on and off for years beforehand (largely through rp, but also my earlier romance books) so it wasn't like, out of nowhere for me to draw it more. and then when i had a really positive response, i kept doing it because i like attention and it was pretty quickly lucrative. i have never had a problem monetizing my hobbies because like if i'm gonna be doing it anyway, might as well make money off it. and now i can pay rent with it. wild.

as for the pressure, it's helped that in my fields of work (comics, publishing, a little animation), nobody cares? like you won't lose a job at a studio for drawing porn on the side because fucking everybody in the industry draws porn on the side. my impression of publishing is that they would only care if you were putting out porn and kids work under the same name, which i don't do anyway, and even then it's more about good business practice than prudism.

obviously that will all be different depending on where you work or what you want to do and what sort of spaces you exist in. my friends all know i make this work but i don't talk about the horny details out of courtesy, except in the designated spaces for doing so. i think it's a good idea to keep things separate for purposes of clarity and the sake of people who wouldn't want to see/hear about it, but i also don't care if people who know me under my main know i make this work. it's good quality work and im proud of it!

i think getting out from under the pressure just takes time. you'll get more comfortable in the space the longer you're at it, imo. i'll think back sometimes to when i was starting out and things i was afraid of drawing and now i'm like, i wrote a whole novella about that thing. just takes time!

oh my word I LOVE this question!!! first off: HI!!! You might know this already, but maybe not — I just want to assure you are literally so, so adored by Jesus and nothing you do or choice you make or person you marry is EVER going to change that. if you want the love, it’s yours.

personally, I don’t think of it as a balancing act. Being queer is just a part of who I am. It’s part of how I was created, and because my faith is somehow present in everything I do/who I am, it’s also present in my queerness. I used to be really scared to try and step out of the just-stay-celibate-and-dont-talk-about-it-and-you-won’t-go-to-hell box, because then I’d need to deeply examine my beliefs on organized religion, the Bible, and God. There came this moment when I realized I’d rather die then spend my entire life scared and running from something that I was supposed to love. I just didn’t want to be scared anymore. Even if at the end of all my research it turned out the conservative Christian’s telling me I was going straight to hell were right — I just wanted to know. I didn’t want to be scared anymore.

so I started researching. this is something I’d highly reccomend you do on your own, too, so you can draw your own conclusions! But what I found was that there was no definite place in the Scriptures which condemned homosexuality and that a sizable amount of the scholarly community did not chalk up to being an interpretation or translation error (or purposeful homophobic manipulation of scripture.) also, Jesus never talked about it. He did have quite a bit to say about people who ignored their own sins and selfishness to try and block other people from the kingdom of God, however.

if anything, my faith helped me come to terms with my queerness and help me find queer joy knowing I was divinely created to live in joy and without shame. I know it can feel horrific to exist particularly as a queer teen in a lot of Christian spaces, but hang in there!! There are absolutely lovely queer affirming churches. Also, don’t be afraid to step away from organized church space if it’s harming you. There are seasons of faith that are meant to be solitary, and they are no less powerful!

so honestly ? My advice would just boil down to stop listening to what other people are saying and look really closely into YOUR relationship with God and how YOU feel about that independent of others. It’s a journey for a reason — explore! Think deeply! Talk openly, meditate, dance in your bedroom (as strange as this sounds, I’ve found it to be one of my greatest acts of joy and appreciation and therefore worship.) you are so incredibly loved and valued and you are not ‘giving into the dark side’ or whatever other bullshit conservative Christian’s would have you believe. Biblically, there is a special love for those who are outcast from traditional religious circles or shamed for being ‘different.’ I’m so proud of you for your entire journey to get here!!! There’s so many amazing things ahead :))

I suppose im fond of doing fanarts yes because i genuinely love the things im drawing for, but also because i know i wont be rejected. Even with 3 notes let's say, it'd mean my skill is not at a high enough level, not my ideas. There are plenty of people and fanarts to choose from, a grain of sand wouldnt get upset that another got picked up to form a castle. It's infinitely scarier to put out original projects for me and i really dont know how to break out of it. Fanfiction too feels like a more intimate thing, where you can tell more about a writer than a visual artist for example... and of course posting original stories would be out of the question for how deeply scared of being perceived (judged?) i am now. And i keep going back to thinking i shouldve taken a gap semester to work on this... i dont know how it can be even fixed. Saying "oh haha i probably have rsd" is a nice excuse, but it feels exactly as that, just an excuse. Well this is the real loop i must break out of, isnt it, to find something i can feel proud of, or at least happy with and willing to continue. I have stories, ocs, whatever, i just dont see a purpose in doing things. And it cant be (just?) external validation cuz that didnt work, or at least nothing actually registers inside me and builds up my confidence

i dont know if theres like, a specific time we usually save the fangirling for on this blog (it seems to come in waves) but im in my feels right now so, heck it, here we go! i just wanted to say that, as a trans person, your work makes me so happy. the fact that you’ve created such a compelling story where a trans person not only survives but thrives in their identity and their relationship is so special to me, even more so with the fact that you never seem to shy away from caro’s transness in your art even outside of the comic. it is genuinely SO awe-inspiring, and i just wanted to thank you, as one trans man that your work has touched the heart of !! (and also just, beyond all of that, your writing is so lovely and all of your characters are so lovely and i am positively in love with the story you’re telling through seemingly dark) so yeah- thank you, again, for putting this story out into the world, it means so much !!

Well, congrats cuz you put me in my feels too, and I spent WAY TO LONG drawing this little bb Caro newly on their path to transition to say thank you for this incredibly sweet message.

When I created Caro, i didn’t have a lot of experience in anything trans-related. I had a lot of help from friends who told me their stories. I created them because I knew it was an identity I shared, but I didn’t know how to navigate it. My trans friends and Caro helped me find my words, myself and my own story. I wanted a strong (in some ways lol), incredibly cool and beautiful (imo) character everyone in the story liked, who dealt with body image issues in such a positive way, being fem in so many ways, while knowing inherently they are not a girl. I wanted Caro to embrace their body and be proud of what they had, and what they made from it to fit their identity. Obviously there’s moments they deal with in Seemingly Dark, phobic assholes and fear of coming out officially to John, just like most of us have in real life, but I wanted Caro to be confident enough in themself and their found family to know the people who matter love and accept them. I wanted Caro’s character flaws and obstacles in both comics to have nothing to do with their transition, I wanted their identity to be their joy. Supernatural problems, difficult relationship stuff, uncertainty of the future, but the one thing that they know for absolute certain is who they are. And they embrace it.

Caro’s transition is important to me, and I’m really glad you like and notice my artwork surrounding them, I want to celebrate them, cuz I love seeing beautiful trans art and I thought, hey! Maybe I can do that too.

Warnings: Swearing, Gracie (Because she's fuckin adorable), Aaron (Cuz he's fuckin hot), fluffy af!

A/n: This one is definitely on the cute side, extremely fluffy.

Summary: Aaron, Gabriel, and Paul "Jesus", are going out on a run. Aaron has Y/n watch over Gracie, but little Gracie tells Y/n one too many of Aaron's secrets.

"You guys gonna be okay?" Aaron asked, Y/n and him stood next to the gate watching Judith and Gracie play on the porch.

"Yeah, we'll be fine." She chimed. "Im worried about you, Aaron. You're going out there, and I know that you can handle yourself. But it's still extremely dangerous, so stay alert."

Aaron smiled and nodded at her words, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a hug. Y/n embraced it and snuggled her head into his shoulder.

"Keep her safe." He whispered.

"You know I will."

Y/n watched Gabe, Jesus, and Aaron walked down the road and into the woods before she closed the gate. Gracie came walking up and leaned her head against Y/n's hip.

"Daddy will be okay, right?" She asked.

"Nah, he's as good as walker food."

Gracie gasped.

"I'm kidding, Pumpkin. You're Daddy is one of the most bravest men I know, he'll fight to his dieing breath to get back to you. He'll be perfectly fine, I bet you he won't come back with a scratch."

"Really!?" Gracie asked, sounding cheery.

"Damn right, Princess! Now let's get inside, it's hot out here."

The two walked up to Aaron's house, Y/n was about to walk in, when she stopped. She turned back around and faced the street.

"Hey, Jude! Wanna come in? Imma make some Mac!" Y/n yelled.

Judith got up off her spot on the grass and ran up the steps. The three went inside, and like a pack of Lil Jabba the hutts, they headed for the kitchen.

"You alright?" Jesus asked, looking at Aaron.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Im just worried about Gracie."

Gabe chuckled. "Y/n will take good care of her. She loves that little girl like she's her own."

His comment making Aaron smile, the thought of himself, Y/n, and Gracie all being a family made is heart beat faster.

"Y/n is a lovely person. Very kind, someone a lot of men must've chased after in the old world." Gabe continued.

"I know I would've." Jesus said. "A girl like that-"

"Hey!" Aaron interrupted.

Paul threw up his hands. "Im just saying! Besides I thought you guys were a thing."

"Well quit saying! And no we aren't."

"Why are you so salty? You like her?" Paul asked.

"What? No."

Gabriel and Jesus looked at him as Aaron walked in silence, looking down at the road.

"She is beautiful isn't she?" He asked.

"Y/n? Hell yeah!" Jesus looked at Aaron like he was insane. "I didn't want to say anything because I thought you two were something, but now that I know you aren't....I might try my luck."

Aaron then tackled Jesus and wrestled him into the dirt. Gabriel stood on the sidelines laughing and the two men fought like boys.

Y/n served up the Mac and cheese and sat down with the girls.

"So, what were you guys up to out there?" Y/n asked.

Judith smiled. "We were drawing."

"I remember doing that with my big brother." Y/n leaned forward. "My drawings were always better."

The girls giggled and pulled out their drawings, Y/n looked at Judith's first. It was dog, the drawing was actually really good.

"Nice job." She said.

Y/n then looked at Gracie's, it was a picture of three people. The smaller one was obviously her, and the taller one was Aaron. She pointed at the woman in the middle.

"Who's this?" She asked.

"That's you."

Gracie's words stunned Y/n, she looked back down at the picture.

"Why am I on there?"

"Because Daddy talks about you all the time. He's always saying how proud of you he is, and how he enjoys spending time with you."

Judith nodded. "I over heard him talking to Mom. He was saying that he trusts you with his life and that he really cares about you."

Gracie smiled. "Only I think he likes you. Like really likes you."

Y/n chuckled at their enthusiasm.

"Well, your dad and I are friends."

Aaron, Jesus, and Gabe began heading back when the sun started to go down. The three all laughed and joked about Y/n and Aaron. Jesus was making sarcastic comments while Gabe was speaking words of wisdom.

"I think you should talk to her." Jesus said. "Have you seen the way she looks at you? The way she blushes when you look at her!"

Gabe turned back to the men. "And that hug." He said. "At the gate, that wasn't any normal hug of friendship. Or as Y/n likes to call it "Foo foo shit", there was a spark in there."

Aaron smiled and looked at the sunset.

"You think there could be something between us?" He asked.

"Definitely." Gabe replied. "Or you'll fuck it up and she'll move to Hill top."

Y/n put Gracie to bed and went downstairs, she began putting the dishes away when Aaron walked through the door.

"I was wondering when the man of the house would get back."

Aaron chuckled and set his knife down on the table. He glanced up the stairs and looked back at Y/n.

"She's sleeping, I took care of your little angel."

Aaron nodded and looked over at the drawings on the table, he picked up the one that had Gracie's name written in the corner.

"Who's this?" He asked looking at the woman in the middle.

"She said it was me....along with a couple of other things."

He looked over to her, she was faced away from him setting a bowl in the cupboard.

"Other things?"

She turned to him and tossed the hand towel over her shoulder.

"You got something to tell me, Aaron?" She asked.

She walked closer and took the paper out of his hand and set it on the table. Y/n grasped his hands and smiled.

"Your little girl told me that her Daddy appreciates my work. And that he talks about me a lot, and that he really likes me...like really likes me." She said in a bold tone.

Aaron smirked. "Well, she isn't lying." He copied her tone of voice.

Y/n smiled again and rose up onto her tippy toes, to where there lips were almost touching.

"So what are we gonna do about that?" She asked.

He leaned in and closed the gap between them, the kiss wasn't rushed, it was slow and loving. He slowly wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. Only stopping when they heard...

"Ew." Come from the staircase.

nearly all of the character designs from 'UNITRES Dreams'

(once again, this post didnt have a “read more” part in da original cohost post, so im putting it here... click more if U Dare !!)

so, trying to get back into making art again, i decided to draw brand new references of all the character designs from my game, UNITRES Dreams. cus why not. anyways these references arent Perfect.. some of em ive made better reference sheets before (while for this i just wanted to draw em all together with a sort of consistent color style and their current, up-to-date designs) and also i didnt get to draw Every character as it is Too Much and i am Too Lazy to draw all of the enemies and boss designs ... so ive just included the enemy and boss sprites for now.. but ill probably draw new art for them sometime.

Anyways. let me tell ya a bit about making Character Designs for this game. as ive talked a bit about in my post about making Character Sprites , making stuff for the game is hard because i am pretty much the Only person working on the game and i have to split my time working on the sprites between working on Every Other Aspect Of The Game , meaning i dont get to spend as much time making the artwork as detailed and polished as id want to.

and the same thing goes for making the Character Designs. sadly, i didnt get to make as many Actual Characters as i wanted (you can tell which are the Actual Characters as theyre the ones i Actually Redrew Here). when the project started, i only really had the Main Three Playable Characters in mind.. in fact most of the other Actual Characters didnt even Exist until the Very Very End of development.. which is the part im sad about. i just didnt have enough time to think about adding any complex new characters or figure out how i would Make a new character design . Which leads me to the Other Characters... which includes Most (but not All) of the Bosses and Enemies. Their designs are well , Basic . their designs werent really thoughtout ;they were created to serve a single purpose: to be made quickly so that the game could Have enemies and bosses. if i were remaking this game now, id probably remove or even completely Redo a Ton of the enemy designs (except the post-UNITRES Dreams enemies ... im kind of proud of them Lol !!)

thats just how things were. i didnt have enough time to focus on making character designs, so i didnt get to make a Ton of them and i had to make them Fast . in fact, early on in development, i hadnt really had much experience making character designs (as , before UNITRES, i didnt really make too many Original Characters for my games before), so i struggled experimenting and making characters for a lot of its development. And The Designs themselves .. a lot of them (even the ones i like) are pretty simple. Most characters are comprised of simple shapes and details , making them easy to draw and animate. and a lot of the early designs used Very Few Colors , which made drawing them quicker.

Despite All Of This , However, i am actually pretty proud of a lot of the designs ive made for this game (Especially the ones with the fancy new drawings i made here ..). while theyre simple, and while i wish i couldve made More characters with more unique designs , i really like the designs i got to make for this game ,with some of em being my favorite to draw even when im bored .. and i just felt like id talk about em.

the Main three characterz

"trees"

so first off , let me talk about "trees". before i can get into their Actual Design , let me tell u a bit of history so u can understand why theyre designed the way they are.

So . around November 6, 2018 , before UNITRES was really a thing , i designed the very first version of Trees that u can see above. while i didnt know what the game was going to Be , i had a Basic idea of what i wanted the Character to be from the very beginning. you see, Trees (the character) ,while having the same name as me , is Technically Not a self insert , Kind Of . I designed this character near the beginning of when i started entering a Very Low Point mentally in my life (which involves some personal stuff im not going to get into , Aswell as this point happening Around when Among the Others released) and i thought Very Negatively of myself . And So , this character is sort of an exaggerated version of the negative thoughts i had about myself at the time .

the main characteristics of the character was they Did Not Show Their True Emotions , instead bottling up their feelings and showing a very Fake , happy version of themself. theyre also kind of Fucked Up in the head and try to hide it . anyways theres more stuff going on with them that you can probably extract from both the games and the old descriptions in this concept art , but i wanna leave that as a surprise for when i get to make my next game. There Are some outdated things from the descriptions in the concept art , such as an idea where Trees would be Always Facing Forward , hiding away their backside. And Also , you may notice theyre referred to as "it" and "his" in this , which has well. Changed . teehee.

as for The Design Itself , i wasnt really sure what i wanted to go for at first. this character was actually one of the Few first Actual Character Designs i made at that point , so i didnt really have any idea on what to do. One day , i thought up of a Little Bear Looking character , and i tried drawing that character .. only for it to Sort Of look like a little fox-like character. and i imagined this character emoting mainly by very subtle details , such as the Hat and Ears changing shapes based on their emotions ..

Anyways , later that month , i drew the very first sprite of Trees , which ended up being used as the Idle sprite for the UNITRES tech demo. i wont be sharing What that sprite was originally for , as im saving it for Something , but i Will show you Trees' sprite evolution:

from left-to-right , it starts with the very first Trees sprite. Then there's the first revision, which was done when UNITRES Dreams started development. Then there's the second revision , done for the Newgrounds update in 2021. And finally, there's the TREES' ADVENTURE version, which is the current version of the sprite.

with the first version, the sprite is Pretty Close to the first concept art. However , iremoved the blue part in the tail as i couldnt get it to look good in sprite form (or i just forgot to include it.. idont remember). I also removed some details , such as the little hair and the red blush, as i couldnt really include them on such a small sprite.

Anyways , so how did the design mutate into the current design ? Well , over time , i ended up drawing their ears and tail Longer , and ended up giving them longer and longer limbs (as it was Hard to animate them with the tiny limbs they had). Eventually , it got to the point where i decided to just redo the sprites to make em consistent with how i was drawing them , and thats how i got the second revision.

But Then , i started consuming media Other Than Sonic ! i think the main thing that infected my brain was Spinel from Steven Universe ... while Trees' design Did have a bit of the sort of rubberhose , silly limbs before (along with a Bit of contorting their form , as u can see with the expressions in the original concept) , when i saw the steven universe movie , i saw spinel and was Immediately like " Oh My Goodness Gracious . I Need To Make My Character As Silly As Her". And so , I leaned more into the silly , stretchy limbs . You can see this in the following sprites:

Anyways , as i kept drawing them and consuming more Non Sonic media , i ended up experimenting more with their design and adding some small elements from my inspirations .. one of the other main inspirations was Wander Over Yonder ,where i decided to draw Trees' hat to be more Silly and Big , like Wander's hat. i also ended up perfecting how i drew Trees , giving them more Sharp lines , Bigger and Sillier "hands" and "feet" , making their tail Huge , and just giving them a nice silhouette that i like . By the time of the Newgrounds update , i realized Trees' sprites were kind of Outdated , so i ended up redrawing Most of their sprites , and ended up with the version you can see in the current version of UNITRES Dreams ..

And well , Im Really Really proud of how their designed turned out . I Like to draw them a lot. and i think the way their design evolved has ended up fitting with their Actual Character really well .. the sort of Round , Soft elements such as their Big , Blobby hands/feet and their cute , silly face make them look , on the surface , cute and Silly . But then you have the more Sharp lines and elements , such as with their head and tail which i think makes their character have a bit of depth .. if that makes sense .

Idk . im not good at words or describing things . i just think their design now works really well with what i want to go for . and hey , a lot of my friends have drawn them and have drawn them Really Really Well .. i particularly like how people interpret their design .. with some people leaning into the more Soft , cute elements of their design , while some have drawn them Really Really accurately .. its really cool and im thankful for everyone whos drawn them before ..

Last Thing ill mention about their design (and i guess this goes for Most of the other designs) : Most of the characters in UNITRES aren't really supposed to be any Specific Species . Theyre all just sort of weird , ailen-like characters who do not abide to any sort of rules or reality or whatever. Trees is just Trees ; they're not supposed to be a Fox or any sort of Real animal or species or whatever, and that goes for every other character.

so here's the very first designs of ?????? , who for now ill unofficially refer to as The Pink Character. When i first started development on UNITRES , i Knew i wanted there to be Three main characters: Trees, and two mysterious characters. and when i started work on UNITRES Dreams (back when it was known as UNITRES - BRAND NEW WORLD Edition) , i needed to create designs for them .. However , at this point i was still learning how to Properly Make Character Designs , and so i created the first sketch above ,and then created their first sprites , which . Well. I Ended Up Not Liking Their Design Very Much !

So . The whole point of this character is that they dont really know their own identity , with them not even having a Real Name . Their design was Supposed to be sort of Ambiguous .. However i was Not Sure what to do for their design . i wanted to make it so you couldnt really tell what their gender was (as originally , they were a girl ... but they do not have No Gender anymore) . However , when people first started testing the game , they just . thought they were a guy.

anyways . i just Did Not Like This Design . they didnt really have a Clear Silhouette .. they just didnt look like an appealing or memorable design to me. and i also i didnt like their color palette. So . when the game became UNITRES Dreams , i decided to completely redo their design . And Well ..

This is the first drawing of the new design. At First , i wasnt sure about their design , with things such as them being Pink and Having A Skirt, i was worried about Some People immediately being like "Oh , Theyre A Girl !".. but you know what ? Ive grown Very Very Attached to this design .. i think theyre both Cute and Recognizable , while still fitting the sort of character i was going for . Their sillouette , while not as Recognizable as the other characters , has enough goin on to where i think it is a bit recogniable and easy to read while still giving them a sort of Mystery regarding their identity .. if that makes sense . And their more monochrome palette compared to every other character helps sell that , i think .

i think theres probably some people out there who see this character as a girl , but i think theyre a good Non Gender Having character design . just cus theyre pink doesnt mean they gotta have Gender ! anyways , i love them. theyre my silly little strange creature. i hope you love them too .. there is so much i want to explore with this character in a future game .. and i think their new design has really stuck with me.

So , ??? , who i will refer to unofficially as The Blue Character, is supposed to Sort Of be the opposite of Trees (the character). they're Very Tired and Chill , not really too crazy or anythin. and i wanted their design to illustrate that, and well , out of every design ive made , theirs was pretty much perfect from the very moment i created them.

I dont know if i have any old concept of them on hand, but i Do have both the original sprites ,aswell as the newer ones which are pretty much the same as the old sprites , but more polished and with redone colors..

And, well. Yea . they didnt really change much ! The only aspects that changed was that i removed like , Two details that i felt cluttered up the sprites too much , that being the little Tired Eyebag/ whatever its called line beneath their eyes, along with the little Red Dot that was on their boots. Other than that , their design was pretty much Perfect. they were also pretty easy to make , as , with them being a sort of Opposite version of Trees , theyre pretty much based off Trees' design , except with a bunch of differences to make them feel like their own character (such as different body/head shape , a big silly hat , and Actual Boots).

there's nothing much for me to say about them. they're perfect.

Alright . so before i can explain These characters , u need a little bit of History .

So. when UNITRES - BRAND NEW WORLD Edition was "finished" , i went on to help with RRThiel and his game, MEGA MAN PERFECT BLUE. as you can see here, i worked on various backgrounds and tilesets for the game. Anyways , at one point , ithought itd be cool to remake the Intro Stage in UNITRES , as a sort of tribute to the game and also as a little extra thing for the new update i was planning on making (which ended up becoming UNITRES Dreams).

at first, this was Just going to be two levels based off the Intro Stage from Perfect Blue , However , later in MMPB's development , one of the backgrounds I did for one of the levels ended up being Completely Redone by other people on the team ,as my background didnt really fit the game's style .. However , i still really liked this background .. so I decided to reuse it for a new level in UNITRES , with it also being a tribute to the level in MMPB (though its a lot more loose compared to the Intro Stage level , Lol).

This level ended up becoming Greenhouse Frenzy in UNITRES , and i ended up turning what once was just going to be a two level bonus into an entirely new campaign with its own story in UNITRES Dreams. and with it being a whole new campaign , i wanted there to be New Bosses and New Enemies ..

So , for Greenhouse Frenzy - Section 1 , I was planning on a new boss ... and this boss was going to be ... Mr. Sauceman !

You See , for UNITRES Dreams i wanted to go Hard with including all sorts of little tributes to my friends and the people who helped with the game . Mr. Sauceman , being one of the composers of the game , let me use his character from the game hes working on as a boss in the game , and i thought itd be nice to have him be in Greenhouse Frenzy ,since that level is pretty much a big tribute anywayz.

So , Originally , i wanted the Sauceman boss to start out with a little Fake Out . You See, the MMPB level that Greenhouse Frenzy is based off has a robot master that i asked RRThiel if i could use for the level , but he said no. So , I decided for this boss that i would create a silly character Inspired by the robot master from the MMPB as a silly little joke , but then Mr. Sauceman shows up and that character explodes . And So , I Designed Suzy , a character who , while inspired a bit by the character MMPB , was made to be a bit different and also to be used for a silly little fake-out intro and to die in 5 seconds . You can see this on the reference sheet , where she didnt even have a name and is just referred to as "GF2 Fakeboss".

However . Two Things Happened : 1) I Grew Kind Of Attached To This Little character I Designed , And 2) I Ran Out Of Time. i couldnt implement the fakeout that i had planned ... and i didnt have a boss fight for Greenhouse Frenzy - Section 1.... So. I decided to just. Make her the boss fight of GF1. it just made sense ! i Originally had planned a boss fight based on the Magik Master boss from Chaotic Carnival , but reusing the character design for the silly fakeout ended up being quicker , and so she ended up being an Actual Character in the game.

And Then There's Wavey . she is a robot. i originally designed her as an enemy for the Intro Stage tribute level (a.k.a , Perfect City) , as i wanted it to have its own enemy. Her design is also Some What inspired by one of the robot masters from MMPB , though not as much as Suzy's is.

Anyways , despite Suzy and Wavey being inspired by characters from MMPB , i wanted them to be different and have their own sort of Character . And well .. their actual Personalities are different to the ones from MMPB , at least . In UNITRES Dreams , there is a hidden "Storybook" mode , which contains various stories which add a bit of Worldbuilding into the game .. and one of the stories details Suzy and Wavey . Basically , Suzy is a lonely gardener , who lives alone on her own strange little planet , who then travels across the galaxy to the Perfect City , where she ends up meeting Wavey , a military robot who Suzy becomes fascinated with ..

Anyways . my writing aint exactly the best , and i Refuse to go and reread the stuff i wrote for the storybook mode in unitres . but i tried my best to make suzy and wavey their Own sort of characters , having their own identity compared to the characters theyre based on. Oh , and by the way , suzy and wavey are gay LOL !! and they have a little baby plant that they raise . this is also told in the storybook but i unfortuately didnt get to explore this Much outside of that in the game... though there Is a secret you can find in one of the levels.

So. what do i think of these characters and their designs ? Well. Honestly. Im Not Sure . when i designed them both , i still wasnt Totally comfortable with character designs as i am now , and honestly . theyre not my Favorite designs . Wavey in particular is just . Well . Shes Just Metal Sonic in A Hat . she has her own little differences , but i cant lie . i probably coulda done better with her design . and suzy i think hasnt aged as well either . Idk. Also. In Case You Cant Tell , I am BAD with coming up with names . I Genuinely cant do it. i came up with both of their names on a Whim . i justdidnt know what to call them and i was running out of time LOL !!

anyways. last things ill mention are : the plant is a species known as Shine Catchers, which appear as enemies in Greenhouse Frenzy. Oh , and also , here's some concept art of them Lol !!

(oh , and i also forgot to mention: originally , suzy had green dots on her "hair", but i didnt know how to properly draw them on the sprites , so i left it out)

the Silly ones (a.k.a my favorite ones)

Millie

So . Millie is the most self-indulgent design Ive created .

Here's how it went: one December day in 2020 , I was sitting around bored as hell , when all of a sudden , the Silly Brained part of me Saw an idea pop up: A Tall , Hot , Cute Clown Man . And Instantly , I KNEW I had to draw him . But I Was in the middle of a Zoom call ... So . I opened up IbisPaint on my old Android phone , and drew the First sketch with my fingers that you can see above . And Instantly I Knew : I Had Done It . I Made Perfection .

More ideas grew , and i realized : I Could Do Something With This ! So , later , I came up with a whole reference sheet for him , and started planning on something: I was going to make More characters for UNITRES Dreams . You see , at the time , I was working on the v3.0.0 update for the game. This was Very Very late in development , before i even Planned there being a Newgrounds version (and before ninjamuffin convinced me to Make the newgrounds version LOL !!). Anyways. for so long , iwas disappointed that i didnt get to make a whole lot of original characters for the game .Most of the characters were either Enemies or Bosses. there was Barely any NPCs (aside from the guest character apperances).

i Also Realized: Chaotic Carnival , one of the most Important levels in the game , needed More love . So. I decided i was going to make new NPCs just for it , so that the level could feel even More alive and lived in. And that's when i created the Silly Trio , which started with Millie.

As for Millie's design , there isn't much for me to say. he is perfect. i love him and he is one of my favorite things ive designed. Yes , it Is self indulgent . Yes , i Do Want Him Carnally . teehee. Anyways , after designing Millie , i knew i had to design more characters .. which leads me to..

Goldian and Ellie

Goldian is a tall , polygonal magician man. He is in love with Millie. They are canonically dating.

Ellie is a bunny-like clown girl. She likes to entertain people with magic. I think she might be asexual , but i wasnt very sure when i created her.

Anyways. there isnt much for me to say. i Could get into some of the Character Lore perhaps . Millie , Goldian , and Ellie are all characters with troubled pasts.. they all had to run away from their homes due to circumstances , and they managed to find the mythical Chaotic Carnival, where they all met and decided to become entertainers. It gives them purpose , to see people happy. And they work under the Magik Master , a strange magician who has the ability to bend reality at will. They're all like a sort of Found Family .

that's all ill say about them. theres so much more i want to do with them in the future... i love these characters so much. theyre my favorite designs ever.

Oh ! Iforgot to mention . these characters (including millie) names also suck LOL ! Im not good with coming up with names !! all their names i came up with at the last minute

nothing much to say about Vie . she's a flower girl, who spreads flowers to every level in the game. she got the flowers from the Suzy's Greenhouse ..

so i’ve been kinda existing and looking at your work for quite some time. ever since the hikari yo flipnote back on sudo in i think it was 2017? and ever since i was hooked on your artwork and your animations. learning about hotarubitale and how someone was just making these things and having fun was so inspiring to me.

unfortunately i was kind of out of the undertale fandom at that time and i sort of just had you as an artist i liked to look at every now and again… and then you started getting back into errink and with that i discovered rsp and treehouse and i slowly started to look at your works again. rsp actually helped me process something in my life that i realized was a really shit situation… and i got out of it. treehouse has slowly been becoming a cute comfort to me as well. the cutlery animatic helped me process things in my life. i really loved how you explored niji’s grief in it and it was such a unique take on ink and RAAH!!

now i’m back at your blog, rereading rsp, rereading hotarubitale, looking at your art or your fun reblogs every now and it. just made me rediscover a lot of the joy i had in the undertale and by extension underverse lore again. all the things that you do to talk about your favorite little sanses and of course gin has made me really happy again? your art has inspired me and has taught me “it’s okay to draw the shit you like because someone’s gonna love it.”

when you reblogged your old comic about niji seeing hotarubitale again it sparked me to revisit my old aus i made when i was 12.., and now i’m recreating it, having fun, and im being a little goober imagining ink being all happy to see those dumb names getting a brand new fresh banger coat of paint

i think i finally remembered why i always hate my art

so in 5th grade, my teacher was telling my class to make "welcome cards" for a kid that was arriving to class from Ukraine or something and so we HAD to make him a card or something

at the time i was kinda like experimenting with art styles and stuff so i decided to draw the card in the new art style i was trying out

when i had finished i was proud! it wasn't perfect but it also was as good as a 10 year old can do with crayons and sharpie.

i went to show it to my teacher, excited to see her reaction, and all i got was "i know you can draw better than that try again"

i, probably very understandably, was heartbroken. someone, i looked up to, had said something i made wasn't good.

instead of, y'know, telling the teacher she was an idiot for telling a 10 year old that their welcome card wasn't good enough, i just kinda stood there

like, what am i supposed to do in this situation. i just got told something i thought was pretty good, wasn't as good as i could do, and therefore, bad.

i was known for crying in elementary school. alot of people thought that this was gonna make me cry. someone even said "uh oh i should have brought earplugs"

but instead of crying like i wanted to i just didn't react. just went and started over in the art style that i had used at the beginning of the year. and i never really changed art style the rest of the year. infact i kinda just stopped drawing.

i think this is why i never really wanted to improve in art for the longest time, and why im so hard on my current art.

why would i change the thing, when people like the thing.

i really wish i could go back in time and tell past me that she did her best, and that's all that matters.

because that's something nobody ever says to me, they just point out the bad.

but yeah i think this is why im so hard in my current art. that's all i really have to say. if you read all of this, thank you.

For the first time in my life Jimin won't be around he won't tease me for following him everywhere, for trying to copy him and his dancing or following him to the dance studio to see if he can teach me anything. He just left...to Seoul to be the next Big Bang or something. It's gonna feel weird without Jimin, it's only been a month but it's just been me and Jihyun. Im gonna miss my oldest brother so much. I'm gonna work hard and try to do the same thing as Jimin has and always will be one of my biggest influences in my life not just because he's my older brother but because of his passion.

I put my pen down and walk downstairs to only see Jihyun sitting watching T.V. by himself without anyone around, I try to sneak around to see what's he's watching but I know I got caught when I hear "Still miss him little one?"

I look up to see Jihyun talking to me and tell him

"One, We are Irish twins which means you're not even a year older than me, two, yeah..."

I sigh as I sit next to him and lean my head onto his shoulder before asking. "What do you think is going to happen? Do you think we'll see him again?"

I look up surprised as I wasn't expecting an immediate answer

"Well, first things first we both need sleep"

I look at my brother in disbelief and laugh. "Next you'll need to practice more than ever to either do the same as Jimin or be better than him"

I suddenly laugh at him before swatting his shoulder from laughing before asking

"Whoever said I'll be doing the same thing?"

Jihyun just pats my head. "I just know it, you have the same passion as Jimin, and your teacher is gonna tell you what they told him and try to get you into an entertainment company as well, unlike me you guys are talented in the dancing and singing area."

I giggle at that comment before teasing him. "Oh yeah? Like you are not mister 'I draw all the time' but I guess your right"

Jihyun smiles at me. "make your brothers proud and be the best at what you do Poppie and beat Jimin at his own game that will wind up his gears"

I smile proudly and giggle slightly before smiling at him as I walk into Jimin's room as I felt my phone vibrate.

Its Jimin!!

he only left a month ago and he can't stand not talking to his little sister

Hey Poppie! I couldn't stand not talking to you! I wanted to say that I miss you and the members are already so nice to me! One day I hope you can meet them!!Well I gotta get going practice awaits. I'll Facetime you when Im finished Love you!~

I smiled at his message and layed on Jimin's bed and looked around before thinking.

This can be my escape room where I practice until I'm at least seventeen.

This is gonna be great...right?

Jimin facetimes me almost every single day, well whenever he has any time that is, I have seen some of his bandmates in the background. I only know of SeokJin,Yoongi and Hoseok. They are very nice. I like the one named Yoongi he's quiet like me. Though I really do miss Jimin, but I am improving my singing and dancing everyday so I can be the best I can be and be just like him. Its my dream.

I put my pen down and go into Jimin's room and put on a song from his mp3 that he left here a song called Miss Independent by an American artist called Ne-Yo (if you know that song you're a real one) and start dancing. I dance and dance until I fall onto Jimin's bed right as I do so I look up to see Jihyun walk into the room.

"Exhausted Poppie?" I hear him ask.

I nod as I am panting from dancing to much as he chuckles slightly. "You try doing this, It may be exhausting, but it is worth it in the end." I said in between pants before I get up walking to my room to get some rest.

August 7th, 2012

I met the rest of Jimin's members, they are all so nice, but ever since I met his best friend, Taehyung, he is always in the facetime with Jimin. He is funny and all but I facetime my brother to see my brother which low key gives me odd vibes. I don't say anything, because I don't want to hurt his feelings and because that's his best friend. Jimin tells me he thinks he is fat, which wants me to smack his head, because he is not. Summer is approaching to an end which means more time practice in the dance studio and I can practice my singing now. The more I practice the more I will get accepted in an entertainment company when I'm seventeen!!

October 6th, 2012

Mine and Jimin's birthday is coming up, its lonely without him but I'm starting to get used to it, my teacher today told me I'm as talented as Jimin when he was my age which makes me smile wide, why wouldn't I? It's what I'm going for after all, Jimin is doing well training for his debut to become an idol. I am going to follow in his steps, no matter what it takes.

Jimin told me that the CEO of his entertainment "Hitman Bang" is thinking about a debut date sometime in the summer, I will be In Seoul from May to July for a trip with my class. I hope it's around the time I'm there, I wanna see Jimin so bad, just to get a hug from him would mean everything to me. I told Jimin about this trip and he was very excited. I hope I do get to see my older brother soon, it has almost been a year since I have seen Jimin in person. If I can see him I can observe what it's like to be an idol and that makes me so happy!

Jimin invited me to some music show to see what it's like and I just met all of the members of Bangtan Sonyeondan. They all are so lovely, but Taehyung; well V is always at least 5 feet away from me. Its nice to see my brother again, its nice. I really missed my big brother and Yoongi he even more quiet in person which makes me shy as well I hope I can be friends with all of them
