Hello wish! I've followed you for a really long time (and have almost wondered for just as long):

What makes Rewind sans think differently of Hunter!Papyrus as opposed to being attracted to his own Pap? If it's still #fontcest, then why wasn't he simply interested in rewind!Papyrus too?

With lots of love for you and your characters (and hop I'm not too out of line with this ask) I anxiously await your response ^^'

The answer is very simple: Snares (Huntertales Papyrus) and Ghost (UndeRewind Papyrus) look and behave differently from each other. Even the universe they originally come from is very different in setting and tone.

To clarify this reasoning; I've always treated the same characters from different Undertale AUs (like Sans) as looking different from each other, even slightly, unless it's truly intended for them to look and act the same as the OGs by their creator. Unfortunately, skeletons don't have skin, hair or noses and what else to make them stand apart from each other like humans do, so it's the slight differences like facial bones, socket shape, height, bone color, soul/eyelight color and so on that count.

For example, when Rewind meets Underfell Papyrus for the first time in the 'Kill or Be Killed' fanfic, he didn't instantly think "this is my brother"; he didn't recognize him. Even after UF!Pap introduced himself as Papyrus, Rewind refused to believe him right away. It wasn't until UF!Sans popped into the scene that he started to doubt his own disbelief. Granted, this was the first time Rewind met an AU Papyrus, but it remained rare to find another Papyrus that looked exactly like Ghost during his journeys through the multiverse.

The truth of the matter is that I myself don't consider Rewind and Snares to be fontcest; they don't see each other as brothers, at all, and aren't reminded of their own brothers when looking at each other. But because they are technically a Sans and a Papyrus, other people will consider it as such (no matter that it is cross-AU) and that is why I label it as fontcest; so anyone can block/mute the tag/word and not see it if it bothers them. I do this mostly out of respect for people rather than the belief that this ship is true fontcest.

And my other question relating to Six: What do you think of my AU called 'Rewind' so far? I have all 9 sequels planned out (though they may be subjected to tweaks or modifications as I go), and I made this AU for multiple reasons, but the main ones being to give the relationship between her and RCG the justice and attention that it deserves, and to make things fair for Six from the AU called 'Channel change' whom Hezu did so dirty (and I'm so mad at Hezu about it, so thank you on the recent posts you've made about how the fandom tends to not give a rat's ascent about Six's suffering and even tend to make Mono's suffering overshadow or matter more than Six's or turn Six's suffering into Mono's (Like your post on when Six gets kidnapped they act like Mono's the only victim). You've surely seen the posts that Hezu made on why she did what she did to Six in her 'Channel change' AU and it doesn't take a genius to see her bias, especially the one where I sent her an ask when she reblogged the first page of my Rewind comic and Hezu says that Mono couldn't have known that Thin Man was behind the door, that he was the Thin Man, etc. Yet the fact that Six had no way of knowing that Mono would survive the fall (let alone everything that happened to him afterwards) and that the Nomes were children are oh so 'conveniently' left out of Hezu's explanation. And it honestly comes off as very dismissive in regards to Six's suffering like 'Oh but what happened to Six due to Mono's actions were an accident so her suffering doesn't matter, but I do care a lot about the suffering that Mono goes through due to Six's actions but not the other way around because reasons'. Though to Hezu's credit, in a more recent ask about Six in her AU, Hezu did write in the tags that Mono/Thin Man ruining Six's life is more reason for her and Mono not to be together, and this time she didn't get defensive about Mono's/Thin Man's actions, and even better, she pointed them in the direction of the first page of my Rewind comic that she reblogged, as I previously asked her to do if people continue to ask her about Six. It's not perfect, but it's good).

[Sorry for the rant, I just needed to get that out of my system. And if you want to see an example of excellent fair judgement between Mono and Six, I highly recommend you read @scruffiberri's comic called 'Togetherness' because neither kid's suffering is dismissed or held against the other, and Mono accepts responsibility and accountability for the role he played in what happened, it doesn't get defended or held against him and it allows Six and her suffering to actually matter and Six to voice that uninterrupted, something that Hezu seems allergic to do]

So what do you think of my AU? And something related to this AU: I have another big AU in the works and have had for several months now (I think nearly a year by now) that, like the Undertale AUs such as Underswap and Underfell, I encourage everyone to make their own content of this other AU I'm making, without needing to ask me for permission or needing to credit me (just don't steal is my only rule). I'll release the initial content of it after I make and upload the first two 'Rewind AU' sequels. I say initial content because I plan to make more content of my own of this AU in the future and the initial content is to introduce everyone to this AU and they can get the idea of what it's about and what happens in it. If you become invested in it, I'd love to see any content you may make of it (You can also make content of my 'Rewind AU' without needing my permission).

So those are my questions about Six for you. Plus I like the drawing you made of Samurai Six ;)

I'm sorry but I haven't read that post, that's just a lot to read and I'm burnt out enough from school so I don't really have energy for that. I might read it during thanksgiving break.

Rewind is a good comic. I like the ending you gave to Six and RCG. The only thing that bums me a tad bit is the lack of Pretender but she's the antagonist so I completely understand not wanting her, I just got accidently attached to her character and her not being there doesnt make anything worse so this isn't a critism at all lol. I won't speak on RCG's and Six's dynamic yet because there isn't enough of it.

I do agree that Hezu's ending was sorta cruel, it does make sense that Six would still be in the cabin but to say she deserves it is a bit too much. I wouldn't care as much if she didn't add it to the end of the comic. The comic was great but the end with Six soured it for me. If she wanted that to be the ending for Six, it'd be fine if she didn't add it to the end of a happy ending and reveal it if someone asked instead. I understand that she said that she wanted to have the ending be happy because it is LN but 1. the point of bittersweet ending is that the person having the bad stuff happen to them isn't suppossed to "deserve it". 2: It's a completely different tone than the rest of the comic, it should've been it's own post. 3:I don't want to be too mean to Hezu(especially considering she can't see this cuz i blocked her and you said she isn't that bad) but it's, idk, a bit fucked up to say that a child who got kidnapped deserves it because of something they didn't even do yet(even if she did its still fucked up).

Also okay! I just read up to ep 4. It looks good so far.

Rewind? I like it, And about the Au you're working on, I'm excited to see it. I might want to draw fanart depending how I think about it. Also if you want content for it I'd recommend asking on your own post, not mine. At the end of the day though I'm not sure it'll get a lot of content. Maybe a close mutual would make some. I think you should've talked about the au more so people could start to like the idea before considering makeing their own content. But I love the idea of a "community" au you have.

Conclusion: I am a very descriptive/visual writer and most of the time I start out my stories with describing where the characters are or what's going on. I think there's always places I could improve of course but I can see that I have gotten better, even in the last couple of months.

Honeymustard isnt a ship you can find on AO3. Do yall know why?

Because nobody tags it.

Do you know how many Honeymustard fics there actually are on AO3? I sure dont. Even AO3 doesnt know! Because only 2 people have actually tagged "Underfell Sans/Underswap Papyrus (Undertale)" [tag page here] in the additional tags, which based on my memory of rolling around in utmv ship fics is abysmal.

You know that 144 is probably mostly the undertale ship. I know that 144 is probably mostly the undertale ship. But the exact number of what of that is the Undertale ship (verses some other use of the tag Honeymustard) is something we cant so easily know. Thats not a disambiguating tag and AO3 isnt wrangling it even after years.

Undertale AU ships cant be filtered for except with freeform tags that have been wrangled. And if nobody tags them in the freeform tags with a tag AO3 is willing to wrangle, the ship tags dont get wrangled, and then they never become (reliably) searchable.

For two years now, Honeymustard, a ship that has been considered almost vanilla common for years, has been a Rarepair by the metrics of the Official Rarepair New Year Event simply because none of its fics are tagged.

I find this to be some weird ass blend of funny and sad. I wish we could wrangle this stuff in the character and relationship tags, but apparently ao3 refuses to make that a thing. (i was bummed to hell when i figured that out). so freeform tags are our friend.

Thanks for the- wait, was it poisonous? Eh... still! Thank you for the mushroom! I am a little busy trying to think of poses, names and stuff to make more drawings for this specific ask, sorry. Anyways... I'll do you a solid. I have many different favorite types of ships, after all! All falls under a simple tag: Sans X Reader. I'll do a 'keep reading' because of how long it'll end up being.

Vanilla (Undertale Sans) x Reader : He's someone that values the person he likes. Most of the time, he hangs out with those that he likes, meaning that he'll prefer to spend time with you over some others. If he starts doing things for you, that's when you know he's fallen head over heels. After all, he's typically too lazy to do anything, but if it would make the person he likes, you, smile... he'll do it.

Python (Underfell Sans) x Reader : Flirting. However, not many would have innuendos at first. He would flirt to hell and high heavens. If you walk into the room? Flirt. If you ask him to stop? Flirt. If you flirt back- oh, you opened a can of worms. Now he flirts with innuendos galore. After he comes back to his senses when you flirt back, that is.

Bear (Fanon Horrortale Sans) X Reader : He's a cuddle bug. He'll keep you in his grasp as he purrs, rubbing his check against the top of your head. Also, it's easier for you to count how many days of the month that he doesn't cuddle with you. Oh, and if the person he likes was AFAB... anything you crave during that time of the month, he'll get it for you.

Dust (Murder!Sans) X Reader : With how crazy he is... if he seems to relax around you, that's a good sign. He's, also, not trying to kill you either. If anything, he seems just to be a bit more like how he used to act, back to being who he was before the many different resets happened. Oh, and whenever you wake up... somehow he's sleeping with you. How he got into your bed without waking you if your a light sleeper... well, only he knows how.

G (G!Sans) X Reader : He's a bit of an asshole. However, he'll be a forward asshole. When he realizes he has feelings for you, the very next time you both meet up... he's confessing to you. Sure, his behavior hasn't changed much... but he'll still put in the effort to woe you at that point of time. Oh, and he will remind you all the time how much he adores you.

Blue (Underswap Sans) X Reader : Surprisingly enough, he's a hopeless romantic at heart. When he realizes he loves you... it depends on how you react. If there's even an inkling that you might not reciprocate his feelings, he'll keep his feelings hidden, burying them and only letting those feelings be fantasy. If he knows that you like him back, though... well, he's the type that moves fast. He wants to make as many experiences with you as possible. He, like G, would remind you all the time how much you mean to him. However, he'll be using flowery language to do so. Long ended essays worth of how much he loves you.

Edge tried to obey, limping along, leaning too hard against the taller, gangly body next to his own. He tried, but he could hear the laughter too close behind them, getting closer. All too soon, it would be upon them.

It started like any other movie night, except this one was in Edge’s world, foolishly so. Underfell was not as safe as the alternate worlds, but to not take his turn at entertaining galled Edge, struck at his pride. He was perfectly capable of offering food and movies when it was his turn and if it took days of desperate scrounging to do so, torture could not have dragged it from him.

By the end, his bartering, begging, and occasionally, blackmail netted him not only a modest number of snacks, proudly laid out in bowls or set carefully atop their packaging but also a DVD that none of the others had seen. New movies were a high prize indeed, even if it would have to be sold hastily before the interest on his debts rose past their ability to repay them.

Red never said a word about the debts Edge took on for a single night, not to protest or mock. Either he understood how much Edge needed it, in ways that Edge couldn’t articulate himself, or he wasn’t up to arguing about it. Either way, he only took his own allotment of popcorn and settled on the sofa, preparing to watch John Wick.

Before the credits were even finished, a phone chimed. That in itself was a bad sign; there was an unspoken agreement between them all that no phones were allowed to interrupt the movie. Worse was after a flurry of pocket checks through their ranks, it was his own brother who frowned at the phone screen.

“bro, dogressa’s sayin’ doggo didn’t run his trapline. said he was feelin’,” Red hooked his fingers into exaggerated quotes, “‘under the weather’.”

Edge bit back an insult, grinding his teeth in frustration. ‘Under the weather’ was usually unintentional code for ‘too stoned to walk’. But the trapline needed to be checked before dark; outcasts lived in the woods, Monsters who were lost to their LV and they were constantly testing their limits. The possibility that they could break through overnight was entirely too dangerous to let their vigilance drop even once.

In theory, his brother could do it, but even with his shortcuts it would take him much longer to walk the entire sector. Better that Edge check it, faster, and truthfully, he trusted his own assessment of the traps more than his brother’s which tended towards ‘good enough’.

The others were watching and waiting, Papyrus, Blue, and Sans crowded in on the sofa together with their popcorn in their laps (and that had taken some serious trading to get, popcorn was a luxury item not often seen and the fierce bartering for it would not soon be forgotten). There was no sign of impatience on their faces, they’d likely be content to wait the hour or so it would take to run the line without a single complaint, and he couldn’t ask it of them. “Start the movie, I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

“hey, i’ll come along, edgelord.”

Edge whirled around to see Stretch slouching against the wall on the other side of the living room, swallowed up in his oversized orange hoodie. The stick of a lollypop was poking out of the corner of his mouth, the candy clattering against his teeth as he rolled it to the other side. Stretch wasn’t the very last person Edge would want with him on patrol, but second-to-last was hardly an accomplishment.

“I’d like to get it finished sometime tonight,” Edge snapped. “Not spend the evening waiting for you to catch up!”

Stretch only rolled his shoulders in a lazy shrug, unperturbed. “yeah, that’d be why i’m coming along. we head out and once you’re finished, couple of shortcuts and we’ll be back home ‘stead of having to walk.”

That made him hesitate. It was tempting. Stretch was hardly his favorite person, but surely it would be worth suffering him for a short time to cut his journey in half. They could be finished and back before the canapes gently warming in the oven were finished, and Edge would actually be able to enjoy the movie he’d spent so long tracking down. So very tempting and in the end, Edge allowed him to come and if his agreement was more grudging than gracious, Stretch offered no complaint.

No complaints at all, not even when things turned south and if Edge possessed even a fraction of foresight, he wouldn’t have let Stretch take even a step out the front door, not even long enough to light the cigarette that came out the moment they were out of the house.

Of all the outcasts out in the woods, the most dangerous of them were the ones whose sanity wasn’t yet overtaken by their LV. Brutally violent and without mercy, yet still possessing enough sense to plot, to tear apart his traps forcing Edge to become ever more creative to keep them out of Snowdin proper.

Intelligence balanced by insanity and in this case, still able to learn. Planting a well-hidden trap in front of a more obvious one was one of Edge’s best tricks, one that he’d used many times, never suspecting that the outcasts could figure it out and plant one of their own. Set right in front of his own trap and when he’d approached it to check it, Edge stepped right into it. Years of studying and all it took was a fool at his heels smoking to addle him, along with his own petty distractions, his mind on popcorn instead of threats.

Worse was Stretch noticing what he missed, his head jerking up, cigarette falling to the ground as he called, “hey, wait, look out!”

Too late and the best Edge could do was hold back his scream as the teeth of the trap snapped around his leg. Excruciating pain, worse than any Edge endured during his brother’s training sessions, graying out his vision as he fell into the snowdrift.

“don’t move, don’t move!” Stretch was suddenly in front of him and Edge wondered dazedly if he’d teleported or if his current gauge of time was unreliable.

“Don’t,” Edge managed to grit out. “Get out of here, they’ll be coming.”

Stretch ignored him, prying at the trap and despite the renewed surge of pain, Edge was distantly impressed he’d managed to open it without using blue magic. He cast it aside with a muted clang, the teeth were stained crimson with marrow. Edge did not look at it long, didn’t look to see what the damage was to his leg. It didn’t matter, not if it was merely broken or the leg was actually gone, nothing mattered except that he couldn’t run and a shortcut was not feasible. Going through the void with an injury like this was a quick invitation for death. Though perhaps an easier one than what was coming.

“You need to get out of here,” Edge tried again. Already he could hear sounds in the woods, the outcasts coming to inspect the noise.

“yeah, we both do.” Stretch fumbled a bandana out of his pocket, reaching down, and another surge of pain made blackness swim in Edge’s vision.

“No,” Edge shook his head, trying to clear it. “They’re coming.”

To his credit, Stretch didn’t bother asking who. Less encouraging was the way he didn’t do as he was told, instead slinging Edge’s arm over his shoulder, dragging him to his feet. He stifled another scream as bright pain jagged up from his injured leg. He supposed he should be grateful, his leg had to still be there, it was impossible to think so much pain could come simply from amputation.

“we need to go,” Stretch took a step, trying to pull Edge with him. “edgelord, right now.”

“Can’t.” Those sounds were getting closer and it was tempting to ask for Stretch to shortcut, to end it quickly rather than what he knew was coming. Except that would leave him coming from the void covered in Edge’s dust. Unacceptable, this was Edge’s fault and he would have to suffer for it. “Leave me here.”

“you think i’m going back to your house without you?” Stretch’s laugh was ragged. “nah, might as well die out here than let your bro kill me.” He wouldn’t, Edge couldn’t say, not entirely certain himself who Red might blame. There was something tighter in Stretch’s voice as he added, “i’m not fucking leaving you. now come on. it’s not that bad, you can walk on it.”

“Can’t,” Edge repeated dully and when Stretch dragged him forward a step, a cry hissed out between his clenched teeth.

“yes, you fucking can,” Stretch snarled. A voice Edge never heard from him, in that moment he sounded more like Red than himself, the tone stiffening Edge’s spine, “you measly little coward! you aren’t getting us killed, not tonight! if you can keep upright, you can move! lean on me and let’s go!”

Edge couldn’t say whether it was the insult or the fact that got him moving. Either he moved or they’d both pay the price for his arrogant carelessness and he couldn’t…he couldn’t allow that. He’d seen what outcasts did to their prey and thinking of it happening to Stretch…the pain that blossomed in his chest was unlike the one in his leg, an emotion Edge did not have words to express. He managed a single step, an awkward hop as he leaned on Stretch. The second was better, easier, his injured leg dragging between them. Edge ignored the pain, the flecks of red dotting the snow as they made their difficult way back, following their own footsteps in the drifts.

“That’s it,” Stretch panted, “keep walking, you bastard, keep moving!”

He dragged Edge along, bumping and bouncing over the hardpacked snow and stumbling through the softer drifts. The pain was gone, fading into trickles then lost in numbness as the cold overtook it. They could barely see the lights of the town on the horizon.

“almost there.” Stretch’s voice was weak, already tiring, and Edge could hear the lie.

“We’re going to die,” Edge mumbled. Dying, whether they were caught by the outcasts or frozen to death in the cold. Not only him but Stretch as well and Edge was distantly upset by that. His own death was something he’d been anticipating since he was a child living on the streets of New Home. Being unable to protect Stretch galled, the knowledge that Blue might never know what became of his brother because of Edge’s weakness.

“nah, we just gotta hang in there.”

“We’ll never get to town before they catch us.”

The crunch of their footsteps in the snow halted as they came to an abrupt stop. Edge forced his sockets open, confused. Stretch was standing in the middle of the path, staring into the dark nothingness in front of them. His expression was tight and he closed his sockets briefly, wincingly tight. “you’re right. we won’t.” He breathed out hard through his nasal cavity in twin streams of fogged air. “okay, come on over here.”

He detoured from the path into the knee-deep snow, slogging through the drifts to the treeline where he lowered Edge to the ground. The cold leached past his trousers instantly and Edge hissed through his teeth as it almost cleared the heavy cloud surrounding his senses.

“stay here for a minute,” Stretch said firmly.

“Wha--?” Words were slurry and slow on his thickened tongue. “where goin’?”

Was he going to shortcut away after all? If his plan was to leave Edge so he could go to town for help, he would be very disappointed when he came back to a scattering of dust. But perhaps that would be for the best, better that only one of them perish than both.

Instead of vanishing between one blink and the next, Stretch jerked his skull in the opposite direction of town. “gonna have a chat with these guys, see if we can come up with a compromise.”

By the time the words actually registered, Edge was already battling to sit up in alarm, struggling to stutter out a protest. They’d kill him, Stretch was too soft, his soul was too pure, someone from the gentle world of Underswap couldn’t possibly understand there was no reasoning with those driven insane by their LV. The only compromise was a merciful death at the risk of raising your own LV, increasing your chances of becoming one of them. Edge tried to say that, the words clotting on his tongue the way the marrow leaking from his leg refused to do.

“shhh, keep quiet, yeah?” Stretch hissed, “our footsteps in the snow are bad enough, don’t need to advertise with a calling card! now stay here.”

Stretch turned and walked back into the forest, the orange of his sweatshirt the last thing to fade from sight. Edge tried to stand, to follow him and only managed to slump over to his side. He couldn’t even lift himself back out of the snow, useless, so useless, his sockets drifting closed. His last real thought was dark amusement that at least if he dusted right here, he wouldn’t have to explain to Blue what became of his brother.

Edge didn’t know what happened next. He didn’t know how long he lay there, drifting in the shadows of consciousness, wondering distantly if he’d dust before they found him.

“come on, upsy daisy.”

Cold hands roused him, pulling him free from the snow. That wasn’t possible. Stretch was dead, dead and dusted, he must be, he couldn’t have survived.

Except it was. Stretch brushed the cold, clinging dampness from the side of Edge’s skull as he pulled him to his feet. It was only the sudden resurgence of pain that assured him this wasn’t a fantasy borne of the last desperate dregs of his magic before he froze to death or bled out. Thickly, Edge asked, “How?”

“what was that?” Stretch was breathing heavily as he pulled Edge back to the path. “gotta speak up, edgelord.”

“wh’ appened?”

“eh, just had a chat with ‘em.” Stretch said breezily. “i can be a pretty persuasive guy if i try.”

“I know, I am often persuaded to punch you in the face,” Edge mumbled, distantly proud of the insult.

It earned him a bark of laughter, too loud, too close to his skull. “heh. really, edgelord? we haven’t even started cooking tonight and you’re already roasting me.”

Edge didn’t have enough sense to allow for indignance at the pun. Pain was an excellent way to bring clarity and Edge breathed through it, limping along with Stretch’s insistence. He noticed suddenly that the air smelled strange; the cold crispness was usually scented only with pine needles. Here was a hint of ozone, of something else. Something dark and ugly and scorched.

Unnerved, Edge managed to dredge up enough energy for a check. *Papyrus 1 atk 1 def Their sins are crawling up their back. No LV, no dust on his hands or scattered over his shoes. Outcasts never gave up, so how…?

“hey, that tickles,” Stretch complained mildly. He urged Edge to keep walking. “c’mon, let’s get you back so my bro can sic his tender mercies on ya. feels like getting healed with a baseball bat, but, eh, it works.”

There was a sound coming from the woods, reminiscent of a sob, low and eerie. Almost, Edge turned to look, ready to squint through the darkness and see what could be lurking out there in the woods, softly weeping amongst the trees and falling snow.

A tug in the opposite direction distracted him. “seriously, it’s cold, let’s go.”

Edge followed the insistent pull, concentrating on putting one foot in front of the other. He found himself listening to Stretch amicably rambling on instead of the sounds of the forest, and where once it would have been an irritation, now he was oddly comforted by his presence.

“healing first,” Stretch went on, “then it’s movie time. wasn’t sure about the flick before, but i gotta tell you, kinda feeling john wick right now. i’ve heard what it’s about and dogs are definitely on my shit list right now.”

Dogs, yes, Doggo would be getting his share of Edge’s wrath. But that would be for tomorrow. Today, he let Stretch’s voice distract him, the lean warmth of his body pressed against Edge keeping the chill at bay and despite his injury, despite everything, for once, Edge felt safe enough.

Hey! I saw you commented on the AO3 history post, and I’ve always had a question I’m not sure you’ll be able to answer but thought I’d give it a try. Anyways, there are some tags on AO3 that you click on and it says they’re not marked as “common” enough to be a tag yet. Usually ones that are super highly specific so only one or two fics have them. However, when you click on “mind break” it has this message but also has like 180 pages worth of fics with that tag. Like thousands of fics. Have you heard any reason they have chosen not to acknowledge this tag? The only reason I even care is you then can’t use filters when looking at the tag.

This, I can answer! (I used to be a tag wrangler.)

Tags not marked "common" have not been made "canonical." It has nothing to do with how much they're used, just whether or not they've been set to "canonical" in the database. Once they are, other tags can be synned to them.

Short answer: Tags that don't belong to a specific fandom, mostly don't get wrangled. There are complex reasons for this (something database something), and yeah, it's getting out of hand.

(They get wrangled. Slowly. By advanced tag wranglers. With consent from the committee. At specific times of day.) (There is a HUGE backlog for this.)

Tags that belong to a specific fandom have a "rule of three" - if three different authors have used the tag on three different fics, they get made canonical. (Sometimes it's Ro5 for slow/tiny fandoms. And having the rule doesn't mean it gets done immediately; the wrangler(s) for that fandom have to see it, and they might be too busy with other things. But. Eventually they get added.)

Specific-fandom tags include characters (so, "Tony Stark" is the canonical tag, and is considered identical to Anthony Edward Stark, Iron Man, Tony Stank, Tony Starks, Toni Stark, and so on. (Because the "Character" field only allows characters, not modifiers, tags like "Girl Tony Stark" and "De-aged Tony Stark" also wind up synned to Tony Stark. If you want those separately searchable, they need to go in the Additional Tags field.)

"Fandom" tags also include relationships, the name of the fandom itself (...Undertale (Video Game) has dozens of syns because people don't realize that putting Underfell or Swapfell or Mobfell or Yandereswap in the fandom field, instead of additional tags, will just get synned to the main tag.)

In the Additional Tags field, some tags are fandom-specific (Dark Harry Potter, Arc Reactor (and Arc Reactor Kink), specific episode tags, etc.) and many are not - that's most of the sex acts & kinks, Coffee Shop AU, canon-compliant, I Was Drunk When I Wrote This, and so on.

The ones that were common during AO3's first few years have been wrangled. (Even then, there were rules about no-fandom tags.) A few years ago, no-fandom tag wrangling basically stopped. It still gets done... a little bit... here and there... but it's getting to be an actual problem - people can't search for the tags they want to find, can't avoid the content they don't want to see, unless other fans have all latched onto the exact same phrasing for a tag.

The exact reasons wranglers aren't allowed to touch the no-fandom tags are blurry to me. I just know it can cause database problems if it's not done very carefully. (Technically, any tags can - but the fandom-specific tags are less likely to cause those problems, and the people wrangling them know the fandom & aren't as likely to accidentally connect or disconnect the wrong things.)

in regards of your post about being a hater, what are your thoughts on the Undertale Fandom? specifically all the different AU's for Sans?

Okay. So. I like some AUs, and by that I mean I like two AUs, Underfell and Inverted Fate. Inverted Fate doesn't have any Sans problems, but when I check the Underfell tag it's Sans Sans Sans Sans Sans Sans Sans and also some Papyrus, but I don't want that. What I want is UNDYNE and METTATON, and nobody provides because nobody cares about AUs outside of Sans, like BRO. Tell. Me. About. UNDYNE. And. METTATON. Make content CENTERED on them. Please.

Pretty much every other AU has me completely uninterested, and tbh I don't even understand what the hell was going on with Dreamtale and shite. I also really don't like Horrortale because I feel like Undyne there is SO BOTCHED, oh and also ableism, there was a post about that but I'm too lazy to get it rn. And I semi-recently discovered something called Underworld where everyone was fucked up and monstrous and the player is forced to do a True No Mercy because there is no way to spare anyone. That. Is. Infuriating. It basically is just taking all the love out of Undertale. God. Makes me so mad.

And on the subject of taking the love out of Undertale, when people make True No Mercy the good ending or justified or monsters don't care or whatever the fuck in Underfell. NO! No no no! Underfell is about taking Undertale's messaging and pushing it to a limit, but YOU DO NOT CROSS THAT LIMIT. The question is "do you believe even the worst person can change? that everyone can be a good person if they just try?" AND IN ANY AU WORTH ITS SALT, THE ANSWER IS YES. Underfell monsters are the worst people in question, but we can guide them back! God!

Do you have any good sans/sans long fic recommendations? Papyrus/papyrus and papyrus/sans is good as well

If you go on AO3, you'll find there are 895 undertale fics that have wordcounts over 100,000 words. I generally consider that a longfic. Of those, 101 are tagged Sans/Sans, 18 are Papyrus/Papyrus, and 47 are Papyrus/Sans. Of those, I have only read a very very small fraction, and remember even less because I have terrible memory.

Part 1 and Part 5 are consecutive, and technically focus on the same ship. The Anthology (Part 6) has multiple ships in it, but its a bit messier and jumps around. Overwhelmingly romance focused, domestic, and feel-good themes, but mind the tags in some places.

My oldest Undertale fic, Resonance, is finished at 241,287 words. There is a concurrent sub-fic with extra scenes in it too. It has several different kinds of ships in it, as I was experimenting, which include Sans/Sans and Sans/Papyrus, and I like to think one of the big important ships is Underfell Sans/Underlust Sans, but the story's focus is action based rather than romance based. It's a Dead Dove so really read through all those tags and don't eat things you don't like.

Part on of Mercy_Run 's KR Trilogy is called Karmic Retribution. It's 127,905 words and the ship is Sans/Underfell Papyrus/Underfell Sans. It has been a while since I read it, but I remember it takes place underground in Underfell after classic Sans is displaced there. It was one of my first reads when I got in the fandom and I think it had a formative influence on me <3

Another Sans/Underfell Papyrus/Underfell Sans longform story I can highly recommend is the ain't this the life Series by Nilchance (aka @glitterchance ). While each of the installments average around 3-8k words long, the series is 524,061 words long across 39 works as of now. It's technically still ongoing too! It's written evocatively and with a sort of grounded, judgementless emotion that lets the characters be flawed and worthy of love like- like thats how it's supposed to be. I think I remember the feeling of being free to feel things more than the details of the fics themselves, although I am still screaming about certain emotionally charged plot twists. Rated E for Smut.

If you don't mind a whole fucking lot of Dead Dove Hurt/Little to No Comfort, I can enthusiastically recommend It's Not That Simple by GoldAU (aka @jellyfish-swims-through-gold ) and @tkwolf45 !! It's 231,555 words long by itself, AND it is ONLY PART 1 of a 624,897 word long 4 PART SERIES!!! It's an Ink/Error/Reapertale Sans/Aftertale Sans (plus more secret poly additions later)* fic, and while it starts out rather wholesome, I will warn again though, that it is a Dead Dove with a lot of trigger warnings and heavy topics and Hurt that doesnt really have any sign of a happy ending until the end of Part 4. But I cannot stress enough that it is amazingly written and, if you can handle the pain, absolutely worth every moment!

I can also suggest Omega's Respite by my friends @diyami and GetMcDunkedOn (aka @starsgivemehp ). 249,320 words long and still ongoing. It focuses on a lot of surface AUs with a lot of cross-au skeleton ships! If you like A/B/O you might like this one!

I saw a few titles while doing my search that stood out to me, but I couldn't remember reading them so I can't be honest about recommending them. Which sucks, cuz they are probably also really good. You can try checking out HailSam's Fics or Raithwin's Fics or Lady_Kit's Fics (i filtered for the ships and wordcount already for you), whom I have heard good things about. I also generally like rec'ing MsMk for Papyrus/Papyrus stuff (although she doesnt usually do longfics per ce, she has some in the 25k and 50k range).

Or if you wanna pioneer, I'll even give you the searches I used! You can edit it a little (like lowering the wordcount cap, maybe you consider 50k a longfic) and even exclude tags you know you dont like uwu
