I find fan edits of ttrpg shows hysterical. Cause it’s just the most dramatic music set over clips of just people at a table. And you have to quickly sleuth by outfit and background what scene and character we’re talking about.

Like if you aren’t into these shows it must be the most inscrutable thing like why has this white man betrayed these people?

thinking about the calroy reveal.

it's the use of "always" right at the beginning that's getting to me right now.

it wasn't that he started as a friend and grew to hate him, or that he was corrupted by some other force to turn on him. it was all lies and manipulation, from the very beginning.

especially after "i'm saying this as your friend, you're a good king" and amethar trusting calroy with his deepest wounds and fears in episode 1. we learn, right off the bat, that amethar needs him. that he's really the only person amethar can be vulnerable around.

and calroy kicking that foundation out from underneath amethar before actually revealing the truth was an extra level of cruelty that is as devastating as it is delicious.
