The last (4) Jedi time traveling to the Clone Wars era is just a comedic goldmine. Erza’s chasing after young and adorable Caleb Dune while Depa chases him to get him to leave her Padawan alone. Cal and Ahsoka and trying to make sure no one meets their younger selves, most of all themselves because they’d have questions for Big Soka and Cal. Luke’s just smiling like a sun in the middle of all the chaos, happy to see Yoda again.

I need to talk about the latest episode of Ahsoka. So obviously, there are spoilers.

The flashbacks to the Clone Wars were brilliantly done and I noticed something that the live action version was able to pull off better than the animated version.

Just how young Ahsoka was at that time.

She was 14 when she joined Anakin on the front lines. 14!!

Now, I know that the Padawans being on the front lines was all part of Palpatine's plan to corrupt the Jedi Order, but the Jedi Council went along with that plan.

A group of Jedi Masters sat there, and when it was suggested that they put children into battle, they went: "Sure, that sounds right."

They turned an entire generation of Jedi into child soldiers. Granted many of that generation didn't survive because of Order 66, but if they had the Jedi Order still would have been screwed. The amount of trauma those children experience could never have been undone.

Ahsoka was 14. Kanan (Caleb Dune) was probably about 12/13. Cal Kestis was 12.

Any way you look at it, these are kids. And the live action Ahsoka was able to really drive that home. Age can be difficult to gauge in animation, but to see a teenage girl playing Ahsoka really shows the age gap between her and Anakin.

Another thing... part of the reason the Council approved the idea to send the Padawans onto the front lines was their own hubris. Their way of thinking at that point was, "We're Jedi, we're the only ones who can do this because we're the greatest."

They couldn't imagine a galaxy where they were in the wrong. This arrogance is seen times and again throughout the Clone Wars but also before it. Master Sifo-Dyas foresaw a war coming. When he tried to tell the Council, he was told he was wrong. They couldn't sense anything coming, so he was wrong. He wasn't.

There are other examples that I can't fully remember of Jedi and others warning the Jedi Council of the threat only to be hand waved away.

Anyway, this was my anti Jedi Council rant that bubbled up after watching Ahsoka. The Jedi themselves were the reason for their downfall. All Palpatine did was take advantage of their own arrogance and blind belief that they were infallible.

Lots of actors in Twin Peaks have some sort of connection to each other, to others actors, or had worked with Lynch before Twin Peaks.

Here are some examples:

If you've paid attention to the credits in the opening you'll see the name Warren Frost. He played Will Hayward, Donna's father, and was Mark Frost's, one of the creators of Twin Peaks, father.

There's also Stephen Gyllenhaal who directed episode 27 who is Jake and Maggie's Gyllenhaal father.

There's also some Twin Peaks actors whose children are now famous. Such as Peggy Lipton, who played Norma Jennings, her daughter is actress Rashida Jones, her father is legendary music producer Quincy Jones. Mary Jo Deschanel, who played Eileen Hayward, is the wife of Caleb Deschanel, who directed three Twin Peaks episodes. Their daughters are Zooey and Emily Deschanel. There's also Russ Tamblyn, who played Dr. Jacoby, he' the father of Amber Tamblyn.

Eric Da Re, who played Leo Johnson, is the son of Twin Peaks casting director Johanna Ray.

Robyn Lively, who played Lana Budding Mildford, is the half-sister of Blake Lively.

Miguel Ferrer, who played Agent Rosenfield, was the cousin of Goerge Clooney.

Jack Nance, who played Pete Martell, collaborated with Lynch in Eraserhead when he played the lead role and had minor roles in Dune and Blue Velvet. Kyle MacLachlan, who played Agent Cooper, played the lead roles in Dune and Blue Velvet. Frank Silva, who played Bob, worked on the set of Dune, Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart, Catherine Coulson, who played the Log Lady, did assistant camera work on the set of Eraserhead. Everett McGill, who played Big Ed, Grace Zabriskie, who played Sarah Palmer and Charlotte Stewart, who played Betty Briggs, also had small roles in Lynch's early work.

Catherine Coulson was married to Jack Nance.

Richard Beymer, who played Benjamin Horne, and Russ Tamblyn both starred together in West Side Story.

A collection of random Travis headcanons:

He changes his bed linen rotation seasonally, percale for the warm months and flannel for the cool ones. He does not know what cotton sateen is. He has two sets of each and they are old enough to drink.

He's a decent cook but doesn't enjoy it. He also doesn't usually like eating, but that's mostly the depression talking. When he feels okay he loves food...he's just rarely okay, since the fire.

For all his life he's insisted he hates nicknames, but mostly he just hates the kind he's been given. They always feel demeaning or cruel or uncomfortable in some other way. He feels like the butt of a joke. Secretly, though, a part of him wants just once to be called something nice, by someone who means it.

His parents discouraged him from having any interpersonal relationships outside family because it might make him harder to control. They've always had some intuitive sense that Travis is strong-willed enough to forge his own path even despite the abuse, and they were all the more desperate to keep him in line.

As a result, Travis has barely dated and had few one-night-stands. He doesn't think it's plausible anyway, and something never feels right -- there's never the connection he craves, the feeling that defies description.

He probably won't ever hear the word demisexual but if he ever does and finds an explanation, he will feel the most incredible rush of realization that he's not the only one. He's not broken. It's okay to feel this way.

His penmanship is shit most of the time because he hates writing and hurries through it, and his printing isn't much to write home about even when he tries. His cursive is passable, not beautiful, but it's so regular it almost looks like a computer printed it. Each letter is perfectly sized and shaped.

He's pretty handy. He's the least handy of the three Hackett brothers, but he's still plenty decent by normal standards. He doesn't share Chris' fervent belief in building codes being followed at all times, no matter what, but he appreciates the importance in professional matters, if not personal ones.

He read Dune in his twenties in a fit of boredom and liked it, but was not enthused about the movie. He's quietly excited to see the new one with Kaylee and Caleb, though, and get the chance to share something he likes.

He has very strongly-held opinions about media he likes but will only voice them when sufficiently drunk.

One of the only kind things Constance did for him in his childhood was make soup when he was sick. She was terrifyingly smothering whenever he was ill, but the soup was a comfort and she mostly left him alone to eat and rest after, and it's one of the purest memories he has of her. That even it is tainted is something he avoids considering too closely.

He actually likes sleeping in, but his body rarely lets him, and once he's awake there's no way he'll get back to sleep. It actually frustrates him a fair bit.
