I don't think enough people talk about how Daisy lost four parents
She watched her father kill her mother to save her
She met her father after his entire memory was wiped
She watched Coulson leave the Zephyr knowing he was on his deathbed
And the worst of all imo was when she held May in her arms as she died

Coulson and Daisy’s father/daughter relationship may be one of my favourite things ever, but no one talks enough about how much Cal adored Daisy too. Was his way of loving her unconventional? Yes. Was he extremely flawed? Absolutely, but he loved her so very much.

AoS as DnD archetypes… Villains edition!
ask and you shall receive, @just-ten-cents
first up, ~Cal~
Look, y’all. He’s a silly little guy. He occasionally goes into a rage so deep and painful that he kills everyone around him. He is the dark side of barbarians. The painful side of barbarians. And look, i’m not saying he was justified, but I am saying he really tried to be a good dad.
~Raina~
I love her your honor. Look. She is very charismatic. She’s intelligent. She has great survival instincts. She’s a very well-rounded player… but I have to place her as a wizard in the school of divination. I think she’s always one step ahead, whether from a vision or intuition, and being a divinatory wizard just makes sense to me.
~Ruby~
Ruby is my bbg I know she’s a bitch and also a pretty weak villain but she’s also my age and the teenage angst is real. I’m calling paladin for her! She’s athletic and charming and I feel like she’s a paladin of the oath of glory.
speaking of mom, ~Gen. Hale~
Warlock. She made so many deals with so many devils for power and it turned around bit her. She would have been a great warlock if she wanted to be good, but instead she bargained for more and more power and went along with schemes that she knew were wrong and just. look the Hale’s make me so sad and angry. cycles of abuse and all that
~Kasius~
This blue bitch Veruca Salt hamf. I cannot stand him. He has zero skills. His only skill is acting entitled and being dramatic. This bitch doesn’t even have a class because Sinata does it all for him. He’s basically an animal companion like hello?
~Sinara~
Assassin rogue
~Ward~
Time for everyone’s most hated, Grant Ward. I have so many strong words for him. I’m mostly mad because he’s actually a well-written villain, like he is the epitome of villain that even though he wanted to be redeemed he just plain couldn’t. I want to call him a paladin of oath of revenge but honestly? he’s just a fighter. He isn’t a fighter like Bobbi, no, he isn’t fighting to live and love and survive. He’s fighting and reaching out and clawing at everything around him because hurting people feels good. He is the worst type of fighter.
~Jiaying~
This hurts me to type, but Jiaying is a cleric of the grave. Her gift was supposed to be used to carry on a legend, to teach and foster new generations and stay alive long enough to look after the inhuman community. She was supposed to work to provide a safe place for healing and recovery. She was supposed to be a cleric of haven and healing, but instead she’s a necromancer.
Anyway! Stay tuned for pt. III where I assign my fav side characters classes!

I’ll say it:
despite all its flaws, “once upon a time” did a really good job showing us Emma’s childhood and how it impacted her decisions even as an adult, and her relationships with others.
The show also did a good job having her reunite with her parents and how all characters involved dealt with their complex and confusing emotions.
it’s the kind of writing I wish Daisy had been given on agents of shield.
I wish we’d gotten flashback of her childhood. I wish she’d gotten to spend more time with Jiaying and Cal. I wish the show itself had included them in future seasons.
Either by not killing Jiaying, and having her be there in afterlife (Daisy having a safe space she could go to, a wise person she can trust or an ally she can rely on, especially with the events of upcoming seasons).
Or by having Daisy go to Cal, despite his erased memories, every now and then.
So much more could’ve been done with Daisy’s story relating to her life as an orphan and her eventually finding her parents, and while I understand the whole point of it was for Daisy to become Daisy Johnson, Quake, and Agent of Shield, I still feel as though there was a lot of wasted potential.

My 4+1 most relatable AoS moments:
Daisy's look watching May destroy the fake cop in the pilot
Sam Koenig fanboying over May (S2) and Daisy (S4)
Coulson fanboying over Quakerider
Sousa deciding Daisy was his favorite agent within a day of knowing her and then focusing pretty much all of his attention on her
Bonus: Cal's "hEr nAmE iS DAISY!!!!" when people still call her Skye out of context 😄

hot take
Jiaying and Cal were never really villains, they were simply traumatised good people who resorted to violence from their life experiences, making them more antiheroes than villains.

wait actually has mostly biracial relationships now that i think of it like:
coulson (white)/audrey (white)
coulson (white)/camila (latina)
skye (half chinese half white)/ward (white)
fitz (white)/jemma (white)
hunter (white)/bobbi (white)
jemma (white)/trip (black)
ward (white)/may (chinese)
ward (white)/kara (half white half sri lankan (at least the actress is, they never specify kara's race))
cal (white)/jiaying (chinese)
may (chinese)/andrew (black)
daisy (half chinese half white)/lincoln (white)
coulson (white)/rosalind (white)
elena (latina)/mack (black)
radcliffe (white)/agnes (white)
fitz (white)/aida (white...? i mean she is a robot modelled after agnes so technically speaking she doesn't have a race but she's white for all intensive purposes)
coulson (white)/may (chinese)
daisy (half chinese half white)/sousa (white)
haven't seen s6 or s7, so there may be others, but the only one i know about is dousy. not all of these relationships are important or even kick off (ie: simmons/trip, i included that one because it was more than implied and affected character actions, mainly fitz's). so, to tally that up, that's 6 single race ships and 11 biracial relationships. and the uniracial ships include: past relationship where one half thinks the other is dead; half of ship is killed off to send other half on a rage trip; past relationship that is broken off and only matters for one episode; alongside the more important ones of fitzsimmons, fitzaida, and mockingbird.
so, yeah, that's interesting, lots of biracial relationships!

Daisy: *grabs a picture frame* Ah this is Jiaying, my mother. She was insane.
Deke: Yeah she looks kind of wild.
Daisy: No I mean clinically. So was my dad
Deke: *disturbed*

just wanna point out that in 2x19 "The Dirty Half Dozen" at the same time as coulson is trying to convince may to let him go rescue a bunch of enhanced prisoners from hydra, skye is doing the same exact thing back at afterlife. shes his daughter, period.
