Clone cadet OCs: Skimp and Corre

Brothers who developed a bond when Skimp, a cadet who’d often zone out during instructional courses, was assigned the usually dreaded task of watching over the youngest age group (2 standard) of cadets. Corre was notorious for being the fastest runner among his peers, making his little getaways a point of contention with his caretakers.

Skimp was the one elder brother who went “you know what? Same.” and would help Corre sneak off. They would spend time in an unused storage closet on a stolen datapad, and Skimp would teach Corre combat moves for fun even though he’s considered too young to learn.

After the events of Order 66, they were evacuated off Kamino along with the other cadets before it was destroyed by Vice Admiral Rampart, and taken to a non-disclosed location. Learning that their training was not actually going to continue and they were in danger, Skimp took Corre and managed to escape from the “training facility” with a stolen ship.

Now on their own and without the reliable support system they once had, Skimp and Corre must learn to fend for themselves in a galaxy that has suddenly become more hostile.

is it just me or do some people exaggerate or misinterpret jo's interactions with brick. I've seen jock being called "physically abusive"???? the ONLY violent thing jo has done out of malicious intent towards brick was crush his hand to assert dominance. That is absolutely nothing to how jo treats other people (throwing cameron like a ragdoll, using lightning as shark bait, hell she was about to beat the shit out of dawn), or how canon couples have treated each other in the show (cartoon slapstick, guys. I’m not saying they’re physically abusive).

I don't even count the slapping thing because it was in a "snap out of it, man!" way and it was def out of concern judging by the look on her face. The most jo does to brick is call him mean names or strategize against him which she does to literally everyone. Even brick sees it as her trying to annoy him. He literally takes part in their competition as well; it's not jo harassing him, it's a RIVALRY. She just teases him the most because she interacts with him the most (because she LIKES competing with him).

Idk i don't like basing how she'd act in a relationship on how she acts in a competition to win a million dollars, and I don't like when people portray their relationship as if brick's some poor defenseless victim to jo's antics. It's a rivalry.

*slides into your kitchen wearing fuzzy socks and crashes into the wall* AND ANOTHER THING I love is the use of context clues!!! Like, they clearly had limited time to tell their story, and there’s not a lot of room for filler, but they let us know that there’s more than we see on screen!!!!!

Maya’s first line makes us think Olivia is her rival, and that’s true to an extent, but then they go on to show that they’re also friends; Maya calls her “Liv” and is able to somewhat calm her down when she attacks Stanford. Adds a whole new level to their dynamic because they’re made to work together throughout the course of the show when both see the other as the one to beat. They respect each other, but it’s still tense bc everything is a contest and Maya needs this, but so does Olivia!!!

Frank and Stanford are already friends, and they establish it so easily with their first exchange, build on it when Frank gives Stanford his pep talk, and we’re never actually given any background on them but it works!!!

Also, conversations that we know happened just by catching the end of them!!! When Frank says “Told you, new Robo.”!!! They spent the whole way running there speculating about what it could be!!!

When Maya opens a scene by saying, “That’s exactly my point! It’s his first day, not ours!”!!! There was a whole argument they had where Frank defended Stanford and Maya pushed for excellence!!!!

Do not wanna get on another Sam Manson soap box but like....really wish the show explored her obsession with Danny Phantom and how that could have impacted her friendship/romantic relationship with Danny Fenton.

Alright so I wanna air a thought I have on Crosshair’s relationship with Omega.

So we all know the whole trope of ‘reluctant man accepts the child main character’ in Star Wars. First with Anakin in TPM, then with Ahsoka in TCW movie/show, Mando and Grogu, Ezra in Rebels and even Kaz in Resistance. With Bad Batch it’s interesting because we get 2 characters who are reluctant to accept the child character, in this case, Omega.

Obviously Hunter would be the main ‘reluctant man’ in the trope but Crosshair is also painted as such especially in S1. It’s rather obvious to have Hunter eventually come around to Omega over time (being the leader of the squad), but I think it would’ve been an interesting choice to have Crosshair never accept Omega and/or split from the group and not come back.

As a parentified older sibling, I do have a few mixed feelings about how the show is portraying Omega and Crosshair’s relationship. Part of it is because the show itself has messy writing. The other part I feel is because it’s a kid’s show and kids generally want to be accepted by the adults in their lives.

It’s important to note that Crosshair isn’t angry with Omega in the show. He never is. He’s annoyed, frustrated and irritated but that’s not angry. We’ve seen him angry with Hunter and he’s not that way with Omega.

Having Cross never accept Omega would’ve put an interesting twist on the classic trope that’s been done more than a couple times already. Plus it also teaches the lesson that you can’t be liked by everyone. Some people just won’t like you and that’s life. Idk just a thought.

Overall I think their relationship is ok in the show. I’m not mad about it or anything, I just wish Star Wars could switch it up sometimes with the tropes they use.

Did the Kaminoins have older clones monitoring/babysitting younger clones or did they just have a sea of nanny droids or something.

Did they encourage quick bonding with other clones to practice forming future quick unit cohesion and adaptibility necessary for soldoers, or did they discourage it so they wouldnt damage unit effectiveness by mourning brothers when they died?
