i think it's so interesting to compare the way fereshteh talks about god compared to jimmy despite them being more or less equally devout?

like for jimmy it's a comfort while for fereshteh it's a guide.

she prays and thinks of god because she needs guidance, needs a purpose, needs something bigger than herself to hold onto because otherwise she feels lost. he prays and thinks of god because it's something familiar, something safe, something that has always bound him to his sense of self.

and that mirrors their other defining interests/possessions in the book (jimmy with his knife & his grandpa & his home, fereshteh with the ark & juliet)

she's always looking to make sense of the world & he's always looking to make sense of himself

Mutant Mayhem Spoilers

(Donnie appreciation post, he’s a little instigator)

Okay I’m being a little Dramatic abt the instigator thing, but I think I’m mostly right.

Before MM was released and all we had were trailers I heard a lot of people talking about the potential dynamics of all the brothers, mainly that Raph was going to be the Rebel older brother that Donnie and Mikey follow with Leo being a wet blanket.

And while they were right about Leo being a wet blanket sometimes (it’s the anxiety), I think Donnie takes the mantle for a lot of the rule breaking and planning in this movie.

In the very beginning when Raph suggests staying out longer, Donnie instantly pulled out his phone and put the idea of the Movie in everyone’s heads. Didn’t even wait for Leo to response before he was off and Raph and Mikey followed. Almost like he already had it locked and loaded.

Donnie is the first one to come up with the plan to gain acceptance through catching Superfly, which all his brothers are immediately on board.

In almost every scene when Donnie is driving he’s always pulling some NASCAR, Mario cart, movie logical racing that gets them out of all pinches, and-

Donnie was the one who snapped out of it the quickest when Superfly was threatening to grind them into powder- able to divert attention and make the whole ‘we don’t like this plan’ seem like a joke and even offering to drive by himself so they could be closer to the machine piece.

He’s also the first one who yells at Cynthia when they’re put in the milking machine, which requires some guts ngl-

Almost every plan or outspoken moment or even quick save is done by Donnie. (With Raph coming in second for those quick saves)

I’m just super happy that Donnie got a ton to do in this movie and we can really see his potential.

And Donnie is still the smartest! He wasn’t the smartest because he was a tech master, he was the smartest because he could drive and he’s straight up the biggest opportunist in the film, with his smarts being more subtle then outright. It’s a different take on Donnie’s intelligence and I’m really glad they did it.

Sometimes I'm sad, watch s2e6 again and cry. Then, I remember that we'll get to know (no matter what happens) how things will end; and Neil said everything will be fine. That's when I smile and tell myself "it'll be okay".

They'll make up. Aziraphale will understand Heaven is shit. Crowley will be valued and loved. Earth will be saved again.

Who knows? Maybe the last 15 minutes of season 3 make us cry again, but this time of happiness. Maybe we'll see our angel and demon joking in a southern cottage. Maybe they'll have a beautiful garden. Maybe they'll both have shiny rings. Maybe Crowley will offer Aziraphale an appl. And maybe, just maybe, he'll take it and smile.

Ok, so I saw a post about this and I forget it’s owner but after some re-watching I’m seriously wondering if the Megatron “poisoned” Aziraphale. Like. How he’s acting is just off. He’s too positive about heaven… it’s like him memories have been toned down. Like he watched Michael try to kill Crowley (him) he watched himself (Crowley) be dragged off by the other angels. He knows from Crowley that Gabriel said “shut up and die”. He watched them at Armageddon. He just dealt with them. He can’t. Or at least I can’t fathom. How he would just be like meh. Heaven is the “good guys”. Also just the Megatron’s looks to Crowley and in general, I think something was in the coffee. And Aziraphale saying, “where would I get my coffee”… idk maybe he’s nervous but Aziraphale doesn’t drink much coffee, he drinks tea. And his thoughts on the bookshop are just so off. Like we watched him being upset about using books as weapons when death was imminent. And now he’s ready to give it up for Heaven. No. I don’t accept this to be rational thought on his part.

Took an edible on an empty stomach the other night (mistake) and about an hour in I was sitting on my toilet with my head in my hands because everything was spinning. Then suddenly a giant equine skull manifested in front of me, floating feet off the ground, eye sockets rapidly flickering blue and red as it repeated the same phrase over and over again: "Why do you hide from your fear?", because I refused to ask for help.
