We are breaking down the crossover step in today’s BXB Fundies. The crossover step is used as a counter, (after blowing by in one direction and getting past our defenders they will adjust and start to cut off that angle), to go opposite of the direction we just jabbed. The best way to use this move is by first establishing you can blow by in one direction to make the defense become honest on committing to a side. Secondly you can use it against a closeout which will open up an opportunity to drive or shoot. Attack the closeout with a jab and crossover step usually works simply due to the defense reacting too quickly in an undisciplined fashion. Some tips to make sure this move is highly effective. Angles: Make sure we either jab in the direction of the backboard or the rim. By having our jab foot in line with these markers we are lined up perfectly to sell the move and also get down hill. Deception: Making sure we sell our eyes head and shoulders in one direction before going opposite. There are growing pains we experience in life, and these pains tend to leave scars we rather not acknowledge. Yet, by acknowledging our growing pains and reflecting on them is where we gain our true knowledge of self. By being still and having an unbiased look at the event you see where you went wrong, how you could improve, and how the situation actually made you grow. These lessons of growth will always come with some heartache, but in life you will never be given a load you can’t carry. It will in the end only make you stronger, so embrace it, then move forward. The wisdom you gain from it will be worth more than any monetary gain.

#brickhouse (Split Stance Anti Rotation Hold) First off when y’all gon realize I don’t miss a god damn beat. Shit crazy how I see y’all show love to these bullshit pages that be inconsistent but be do me dirty like a tinder date. It’s cool, it’s cool, I’ve been fighting for respect my whole life. Anyway time to dive in. Tonight we are going over split stance anti rotation hold. Benefits: Better end range control in the shoulder joint Forcing the body to maintain posture in a vertical position which exposes the flexors and hip extensors to a rare stimulus since we rarely work on stability in this position. Also forces the adductor, from the outside leg, to resist the rotation and aid in the stability of the pelvis looking forward. You can finally pick up that heavy ass box from the top of your fridge. I love doing challenging core exercises on active recovery days or if I’m going into a high intensity workout I would use it as a warm up. You can use this exercise however you deem fit this week all I can say is that this will bust your ass because we rarely train for overhead stability. Humble yourself and start off small. Now if you want to be a show off cool, go ahead I know some great PTs that will look after you once you strain either that rotator cuff of those pecs for being slow.
