wild dream. Sorry its long: there was this tall wirey gaunt looking old man who was a gemini and he was obsessively in love with me. He was poor he lived in a big white van like a moving truck type vehicle. And He wanted to give me money. so he pretended to lose control of his truck while driving down a narrow street & plowed thru crowds of people, eventually crashing into this taco truck that belonged to his friend. i was in the back of the mans truck while this was happening but somehow escaped just b4 the crash. the two trucks were burning as everyone gathered around to watch. The man ran to me looking frantic & hurried me into a nearby pub to hide me. in the pub were random famous ppl drinking .. at this point the man explained to me he and his friend had come up with the plan to crash their trucks on purpose so they cld get insurance payouts and he cld give me thousands of dollars from it. i felt uncomfortable and afraid as i didnt ask for any money in the first place and dont want to b responsible for this money he attained fraudulently.

i felt he was treating me as an accesory to his crime in order to trap me and i got so anxious i literally had to shit LOL. BUT the only fucking toilet in the establishment was just in the middle of the bar with no stalls so i had to shit in front of everyone. And in a way i was fine w this as i knew all the others drinking there regualrly wld have had to do the same at some point. no one paid attention. Once i was done my friend Mel (who's also a gemini irl) came into the bar because she worked there, she was wearing a cute outfit with bright colors and butterfuly clips in her hair. Oh i forgot to mention for this dream i was also wearing a very over the top cutesy outfit like an 80s/90s idol creamy mami huge poofy skirt and ribbons. Mel took me into the back room to help me hide. we talked for a while and she affirmed i need to stay away from that man. last thing i remember her saying "No more breaking the law for you!" and i woke up from noises in the house. Weird ass complicated dream.

More More More

It's the first track on the album so if you stop listening there, you can't be saved. More More More sets the tone for the album by being a perfect update to the disco song for the digital age. It's a sensual dance song with a groovy bassline. I also like that it's a reference to the disco classic "More, More, More" by pornographic actress, singer Andrea True Connection, managing to outsex the original. I love it. It's my favorite song on the album!

Fever

Fever is the title track and it wouldn't be a disco album without a fever reference. Though, curiously, Fever sounds more like a straightforward early 2000s horny pop song with a little bit of a French influence than nu-disco. It’s catchy, fun, cute, and danceable. I also love an extended metaphor so it works! It also nicely transitions into the aggressive, toy phone-esque Give It to Me.

Dancefloor

Probably one of the most straightforward disco songs on the album and it’s fun as hell. I especially like the lyrics as I can definitely resonate with going out dancing to move on from a lover that ultimately doesn’t care about you and only played with you for sex (the for sex part is implied, I think). And we’re not even friends so how can we be lovers? It will definitely make you want to dance your problems away. Probably one of the most upbeat songs on the album, second to Butterfuly.

My Last 5 Reads

Aside from the first, they are sadly nothing special.

Heatwave by Victor Jestin - Taking from Goodreads: "A vivid mesmerizing novel about a teenage boy on vacation who makes an irrevocable mistake and becomes trapped in a spiral of guilt and desire." First, I'd consider this a novella at 112 pages. Talk about disappointment when seeing it on the hold shelf. But it's a solid 112 pages! Solid plot and character development with a good mix of dialog and prose. 4 stars.

Pony by R.J. Palacio - Thought I'd buy this for my classroom shelves, but our eighth grade staff will get this one. In the 1860s, the narrator's father is taken by some counterfitting outlaws. His son befriends some strangers in the search for his father. For me, this was slow. It wasn't my kind of historical fiction. But, alas, I'm not the intended audience. 2 stars.

Broadway Butterfuly by Sara Devello - This novel is based on the real-life murder of Dot King in 1920s New York. A number of characters help tell the story. The highlight was Julia Harpman - a journalist trying to outdo all the men who comprise her field. In real life, she found much success and climbed the journalism ladder at the New York Daily News. But the book overall was a little too clunky for me going between four points of view. 3 stars

LIfe and Other Love Songs by Anissa Gray - In 1970s Detroit, a father disappears. In 1990s New York, we follow the family left behind. I had high hopes as I really enjoyed her previous novel, but the back and forth in time and motivation of the characters didn't do it for me. 3 stars

For Love by Sue Miller - I should have just abandoned this. The main character, Lottie, was unbearable by the end. Her brother accidentally killed a young woman. His whereabouts are unknown. Lottie's life story unravels throughout the disappointing plot. 2 stars

Working on the animation:

Throughout the modeling part of this project I used my map and my mind maps to refer to.

I started by making mountains, I used multiple sized spheres and edited them to make a mountain shaped object.

I did a similar thing to make the tree, but i added a cylinder for the trunk of the tree. 

I made a lake but making a cube and then cutting out a lake shape.

I then made a butterfly using 7 spheres. 

I made a flower in a similar way.

This flower took multiple attempts, getting the leaves to be how i wanted them to be was difficult.However i was happy with the smoother design.

I originally wanted to make my own grass, but having my grass as objects made the maya file too big and caused the program to crash. Later i ended up using the paint too.

I added colours to my objects

I then made 2 cats, this was hard to do, but i did it by editing multiple spheres together. I then coloured them, using black on one and a gradient of colours on the other one.

I then used the paint brush tools to try out each grass tool until i found one i liked. 

After finding a grass i liked i moved on to making the city. I used cubes and made them different sizes, i then cut out windows and cubes that were slightly thinner then the original cubes and i added these so that you could see them in the window holes. 

I added a moon and sun to my animation and i animated them to go up down throughout my animation to show day and night. 

I then started to animate the camera, so it followed the path i had planed it to. 

I also animated the cats and butterfulys so they moved too. 

I then added a light in front of the sun that moved with the sun, so it got lighter and darker at the correct times.

I exported each frame at 24 fps, this took a while. 

I then edited them together in ‘premiere pro'. I added a blue background colour and edited the brightness to it would be brightest when the sun was a darkest in the ending of the animation, to show nigh time.
