Hi just wondering did you delete birds of a feather?

I did! It was quite a long time ago - I planned to, and still plan to, publish a very revised version of it as a full novel, and therefore pulled it from AO3. Honestly, the two "versions" of it are by now incredibly different, but I still felt like this was the best decision in an overall legal sense. I made sure to give readers plenty of time to download the work initially, and added a chapter announcing as much so that they'd know to download it if it was one of their comfort fics- something that I still have no problem with, for the people who did. I apologize for anyone who was disappointed and wanted to read it, but I'm standing by my decision - and have since written several hundred thousand more words of fanfiction that I hope readers can enjoy.

#i still don't feel spectacular about depriving people of it #but your girl DOES gotta theoretically eventually make money under capitalism #and also if enough publishers reject it or whatever then i might just re-upload the new version with metroid stuff added back in #because i DID edit the whole thing and if people can't enjoy it for money then i'll make sure to let them do it for free #but i DO write literally hundreds of thousands of words of fic that IS and will always remain free #i currently swear that nothing that I have on AO3 currently will ever be deleted and made into a for-profit book #i once deleted a oneshot because nobody told me the characters were 19 and 14 because the animators drew them as 17 and 16 respectively #but that's the only kind of reason i'd delete one of my fics #also for the record if i somehow become a famous author then i will still write fanfiction #i still LIKE writing fic and it's much easier and more carefree than working on an ultra-refined project #so yeah! #also i should mention i did PAY an editor to help me revise Birds #like... that's the level of serious i am about publication #okay anyways goodbye now to all 2 people who read these tags
