I'll be honest the whole argument about it being imperative that the gang never "wins" is still so fucking stupid to me. did you watch 3x01 with your eyes closed. dennis has "won" before, and it ruled, actually. why do we need broad ass arguments like this trying to pin down sunny when there's like. countless examples to the contrary to show it's been like this the whole time.

Literally it’s like. Mac comes out and he’s like “okay. Now that I’m out I can fully admit to myself that my feelings for Dennis are romantic. What am I gonna do about it?” I can just picture him thinking about if he should confess or not—deciding he needs to, it’s been so long he can’t not. So he plans a big romantic gesture on Valentine’s Day. And it goes amazing and Dennis is so happy even without the rocket. When it turns out Dennis has a kid he makes starry-eyed plans of being a family he sees a bright future stretching out before him—

And then Dennis leaves

Mac not thinking Dennis is serious at first, then finding Dennis’ note—but don’t worry, there’s a phone number on it! Which leads to a mental health hotline (which is shitty but I mean. nicer than he could have been in a way). Mac’s left adrift, unsure of himself again after finally figuring out what he wants

So Mac throws himself into bodybuilding to distract himself, to take some control of himself back. To have an excuse to be away from the bar and the apartment for long periods of time. To make himself feel strong physically in a way he doesn’t emotionally.

And another really good episode! This season is shaping up to be one of the best for years.

There was a lot of insight into childhood trauma in this one. Obviously there’s Dennis and Dee having to deal with Frank’s gun (I’d be surprised if that weren’t an element of their childhoods) and Mac getting burned by Mrs Mac (which is implied to have been a common occurrence), but one of the more visceral ones was Charlie. 

Just seeing the way Bonnie hurt herself when she got upset, and the way Charlie reacted (slamming the phone, getting angry about being the sibling to have stayed behind) and then Bonnie’s reaction to having upset him (going near catatonic). It just felt like this horrific cycle that’s really demonstrative of what the Kelly household was like growing up.

Macaque gives the pregnant person who doesn’t have much of a baby bump so he probably just went “wow, coming back to life makes people nauseous a lot.” And because of not showing, he’s annoyed when people ask him if he really is or just joking around. But he’s also glad not many people try to touch his stomach and get all handsy (something that probably happened with Wukong).

The idea of Wukong and Macaque’s eyes twitching when anyone talks about their birth experience and how their way is the only correct way is incredible.

Also, was Macaque pregnant around LBD?

in the Slow Boiled Au; Macaque is also pretty darn skinny compared to Wukong, and he hasn't exactly been eating well since he got back. He legit assumes all his early symptoms are side-effects of coming back to life.

The twins eggs you see, are still super tiny compared to Yuebei's. Their parent has been caught in an enviroment of negative life energy for all this time, so they havent been able to absorb much dao to grow. Once Mac reconciles with Wukong and becomes a member of the Monkie Kid gang, the twins' eggs finally start growing as normal.

Also Mac has zero idea that being physically dragged into the Underworld triggered the Stone Egg creation process within him. So yes, he would be carrying the Eclipse twins' Stone Eggs when he was around LBD in S2 & 3.

Would be hilarious if after punishing Mac with the ice curse for his disobedience; the twins' weak magic acted up to try and protect him. Mac still seeks out the Samadhi Fire to free him of the magic ice, though he notices briefly that *something* within him tries absorbing it... he'll look into it later.

Even after learning that he was "with Egg", Macaque more so doesn't wish to "advertise his weakness", and deliberately dresses to avoid people from noticing his baby bump unless he feels safe around them.

If someone tried touching Mac's stomach without permission, he'd break their arm. Even the little earth monkeys on FFM know to wait for a nod before touching a baby bump on anybody due to times where Wukong was really sensitive about his body.

Mac is also *super-cuddly* around this time and he hates it. He hugging everybody just cus his emotions/hormones need the cuddles. Wukong is happy to be of service :3

Fully questions if he accidentally gave you part of his powers, even if was the tiniest bit, it still concerned him greatly since you never asked for it in the first place, and thinks you were ignorant of your strength until you tell him a minute later. The great sage is fully both confused and impressed when you tell him that you always had this strength, asking you if you’d be up to fight sometime (is shocked when you tell him you only know basic defense).

Nearly jumps five feet in the air when you run into the room yelling about your keys and he suggests that you retrace your steps, asking if you want help but you decline and state that they probably got swept under the couch. You walk over to the said couch that your lover was previously napping on and lift it up with one hand like it was nothing, scouring the ground and ignoring the screaming that the monkey was doing when you spotted your keys.

Once you grabbed them something or rather someone tugged on your wrist which caused you to turn back confused at Wukong and question why he was holding you up when you had a doctor's appointment to get to. Wukong was slack-jawed as you explained you had always been super strong and you rarely showed around others cause they were either freaked out that you were a hidden demon or they tried to take advantage of your strength for their own gain.

Slowly but surely you (and more importantly after the doctor's appointment) get more confident about displaying your abilities and spar with Wukong and the gang. He becomes even more attached than he already was because now he knows he doesn’t have to hold back as much since you’re quite durable and his cuddles/hugs just get tighter since you give it back twice over.

Six-Eared Macaque

Ok….You just scared him. Like dead serious. Secretly very impressed and even more infatuated with you if that’s even possible, tries his best to not stare but it’s kinda hard when you’re both attractive and lifting up boulders like it’s nothing.

Macaque is lazying around his little spot on Flower Fruit Mountain when you come groggily marching in and stood in front of him. “Open the door.” “No. I want you more to myself.” See the problem was that you’d been real busy with assignments that your boyfriend felt neglected (which was fair) but since he was a petty bastard Mac blocked the entrance to the cave aka his home with a giant boulder.

You huffed while flipping him off and went in the direction of the entrance, not missing the dark-haired monkey stretch and trailing behind you after he got off his hammock. “Fine, I’ll do it myself.” Macaque is wide-eyed when you grab the enormous rock with both hands and drag it to the side, looking back at him with a smirk and then heading out. “Heh, Guess you still have some secrets to dig up, moonlight….”

From now on he decides that he’ll just hold onto you if he wants to keep you with him instead of using giant rocks but in his defense, he didn’t think a fragile mortal like you could move them much less lift them and yes he did double check that you are a mortal. The shadow demon definitely asks to spar with you whenever he’s feeling up to training and tells you to not hold back, giving you tips on how to use your fragile look to your advantage before pummeling them with your super strength and knocking them out of commission (or rather trying to knock your boyfriend out to no avail).
