I played D&D yesterday at a board game store and I am still a bit shook from it. This isn't a D&D horror story but there's a few things I need to vent about.

- the DM who we did not know handed us character sheets. Apparently this had been agreed with the guy from my group who was arranging everything but he forgot to tell everyone?

- I never related more to a drag queen who gets the role on a ruchallenge they hate. I was forced to play a low charisma wizard whose whole thing was being religious. I did rly good and moved the plot along despite this horrible character, I killed it.

- Anyway straight men are animals they immediately go "IM ROGUE" "IM BARBARIAN". They don't even read the character description or backstory. Or ask me and the other girl in the group if we wanted to read the roles first??

- nobody was doing character voice 🫠 "he says x" "he asks why"-- I interrupted the other players to speak like the characters and they were just stuborn. Especially the straight men they barely used dialogue they only wanted to fight?

- one of the things I HATED the most was that I got a crystal (important plot device) and one of the straights says a) he wants to break it. I start *discussing* with the group that I don't think that's a good choice. B) suddenly the guy says "I take the crystal from her and save it on my things."

????

- me and the group and still discussing what to do with the crystal but the guy decides he takes it and doesn't need to roll or interact/ask me. He then triggers a boss to appear who wants the crystal.

- Before we can discuss as a group why we should give him the crystal the same guy throws the crustal at the guy??

- The DM who had obviously put some effort into describing the boss and voice for the boss just goes ok. I guess he leaves with the crystal then.

- the same guy says he wants to fight the boss. Not for the crystal. Just because he wants ti fight.

- I see the horror flash on the DMs eyes. This is obviously a very high level boss to fight later in the campaign. He even goes "are you sure..?" I save it by saying no obviously not. We already lost the crystal let's not get killed too. Dm says "good choice".

- playing in a boardgame store is horrible. There's so much noise. I have adhd and oh my god. Also dm said something rly serious to my character and I couldn't understand him and didn't wanna ask him to repeat himself bc he did character voice and it was a tense moment.

- straight men's characters kept trying to "go investigate on their own". Boy we just started the campaign??? Maybe idk we should stick together. One of them kept "I go way ahead of them" or "I go way in the back". Which triggered events without us being there yet. At some point the DM ignored the guy and just spoke like he was there with us too.

- I was the only one (aside from dm) actually roleplaying and doing voices.

- one of the guys was mad the dm didn't let him use his own figure on the map even though it was three times the size of the figures the dm had for us.

- I am 100% sure the men were angry I was the hero of the battle we had. (It was bush like creatures and I used burning hands... They were all upset at the dm when the attacks they used barely did anything. And I mean actually arguing.

Anyway I just to take this out of my chest. They also kept asking for feedback/compliments on WhatsApp and I was nice and said I rly liked meeting with them and the dm was way better than I had imaged. And the guy that stole my crystal without asking and almost ruined the game an off comment about me being "uncomfortable" because I didn't join them for dinner after (worded like an accusation)? 🫠 And didn't even say anything about me carrying the game and helping him with his fuck ups. But ok.

- saw another post on here talking about how in black sails flint has that speech about the drunk guy named flint asking his grandpa for rum before disappearing into the sea and then in treasure island we find out flints last words were asking a "darby mcgraw" for rum before he died SO IN THE BLACK SAILS UNIVERSE DARBY IS HIS GRANDPA and so im wondering DID FLINT 1.0 EVER EXIST AT ALL OR WAS IT SIMPLY FORESHADOWING ALL ALONG but at the same time it doesnt matter because the black sails creators said the ending is intentionally canonically up to interpretation and black sails canon and treasure island canon dont match up any way but still it gives us so much to think about bc we never canonically find out who the fuck darby is

- the doctor is the funniest character ever and him giving zero shits about billy or silver is hilarious LMAO

- rly enjoy the descriptions of the contents of billy's pockets and chest. i love old shit and that whole nautical aesthetic ugh. im currently wondering about the significance of the five sea shells billy had (jim wonders abt them too) if they were souvenirs from the island or what... but we never find out!!

- and what the fuck was up with those black spots I NEED ANSWERS! It worked on Billy but not Silver?

- having grown up on PotC i'm very enthused at the references (the song, the rum, "dead mens chest," etc)

- wish we saw more of jims mom, she was lowkey a badass for a moment there telling everyone off and willing to face the wrath of the pirates with her son lol

- love how the men just take jim on for his valour and then decide to make him a cabinboy and the mom just gets a replacement son to help her around the house lmaoooo i wonder if that was a common thing for single women to do though?

- long john silver has a sort of jekyll/hyde personality (btw the author stevenson also wrote jekyll/hyde for those of you who dont know!) - also why the fuck did they leave him to his own devices toward the end and not have a gun on him 24/7 like? i was also shocked that he didnt run off with all the gold only some of it. most chaotic character ever

- my biggest questions are why did black sails take out the alcoholism and the sea shanties? but importantly the alcholism - if they were going for gritty, as they were? flint and billy's alcoholism is integral to their characters (defines their characters actually) in the book as contrasted by silvers moderation & thats rly interesting. and the lack of singing is just boring - pirates rly did have sea shanties - however i can understand for time constraints per episode and whatnot them taking out the singing for practicality - but the alcoholism again is integral to those characters as well as being historically accurate and realistic & would have added a lot imo

EDIT: immediately after posting this i realized that since there are a few years between the treasure burial and flint's supposed death in georgia, he could have become a drunk in that time if we're creating a black sails to treasure island timeline, and billy wouldn't have become a drunk til later on since black sails is set roughly 20 yrs before treasure island.

HOWEVER - by the talks of it in treasure island, and all the pirates referring to flint as a drunk etc., it would still seem that flint was always that way when they knew him, prone to drinking... but at the same time i guess you could say all the characters are jollier than in black sails as indicated by their singing and their more stereotypical piratey ways.

however i still think the alcoholism & addiction theme would have added an extra layer to everything especially after flints sad drunk scene with eleanor. also in toby stephens deep fathoms interview he said flint is essentially like an addict when it comes to his delusion & desires. anyway i digress

unpopular opinion:

so i havent rly seen that much obito meta recently (or any at all actually). so idk if this is still an unpopular opinion. but i think obito being convinced to change his path and join naruto against madara is quite sensical for him actually. obito is 1) more emotionally motivated and thus can also be influenced emotionally (unlike madara) and 2) much of his views kind of hinge on his ability to make others confirm them for him. as in breaking others down to the point of them adapting a similar worldview as him. obito did that with itachi by helping him w his genocide, he did it w nagato and the akatsuki as a whole but he couldnt do it w naruto. and thats why naruto could convince him to change his views.

man i gotta figure out what to do with juyun :/ he’s one of my absolute fave ocs but his gw2 version is kinda boring which makes me sad! also here is a couple pics of him bc i know that helps me to remember what character ppl are talking about lol

so like, og juyun is the god of beauty in his world, and him being a literal god while eless is Just Some Guy, is something i try to keep the vibe of in most aus i make. so eless is a charr, and i made her from the olmakhan bc her family, and her decision to leave her family, is also important to her character. meanwhile, juyun is a norn in the order of whispers. and like, that’s all i gave him?? and like, there is the fact that he’s from mainland tyria and eless has been relatively isolated her whole life, that sort of fits their dynamic, but i want juyun to be more special 🥺 he’s my special little beautiful boy 🥺

so like, i have three ideas rn. i ended up rambling a bit, so here’s a quick list: juyun becomes aurenes champion/branded by aurene, juyun is actually a saltspray dragon, or juyun is an avatar of lyssa (could also be an avatar of a spirit of the wild, but idk which one)

the rest of my thoughts and rambles are below the cut

first is that he gets branded by aurene. the vibes fit him SO well, like god!juyun literally has opalescent skin, so aurene crystals are sooooo perfect for him. the issue tho, is idk why he’d be branded. like, i could go the route of him being aurene’s champion, but then i’d have to figure out who the commander is. i wouldn’t want it to be onyx cuz they’re from different stories for me? so it’s like. they shouldn’t know each other. having eless be the commander would be So Good, bc that lets me have them interact a LOT and i Love Them. but then i have to deal with the fact that she’s from elona so idk how she’d get to mainland tyria at the right time to become the commander :/ like, it could work? but it would almost be easier to make her from the legions, and that doesn’t feel right to me…

my second idea is that juyun could be a saltspray dragon! i like this bc the color scheme and vibes fit him really well, and bc he’s literally meant to be (half?) korean, so him having a direct link to cantha is cool. like, norn can be asian and stuff, but it’s mostly just looks at that point? anyway, the issues i run into here is that idk if all saltspray dragons can shapeshift? like there’s kuunavang/navan obvi, but idk about the others? and i don’t know a ton about the saltspray dragons in general, tho i think that’s just bc there’s not a lot to know? i also then have to decide if he left cantha, bc if he didn’t, then he and eless meet WAY late in the story. and if he DID leave, then i gotta figure out how, when, and why he did.

my last idea is that maybe he’s like. an avatar or something? i thought about him being linked to one of the spirits of the wild, but idk what one it would be, yknow? but then he could be an avatar of one of the six? like, he is sooo similar to lyssa! he’s literally a mesmer and i already associate him with illusions, glamours, and masks. the only issue here is that idk why he’d be here. like. i looked into avatars on the wiki a lil bit, but i still feel like i don’t know enough >:/

honestly, i think both the saltspray dragon and avatar ideas are stopped only by the fact that i don’t feel like i know enough. i think a lot of that is cuz i didn’t play gw1? (technically i played the free trial cuz my cousin played it, but that doesn’t really count) then again, i could always just. make stuff up. i can fill in blanks with whatever hand-wavey stuff i want! except that i’m rly indecisive lol and i like having characters like this be as canon-compliant as possible :(

returning to juyun as aurenes champion though, i think it might work the best? like, eless could have left the olmakhan and elona during the personal story. maybe juyun does the like, 10-50 story, and then eless shows up as part of the priory? and eless becomes the commander, and juyun is just like, there to help out. and then with lws2, maybe they split up? so juyun goes after the egg, while eless does something else? then again they don’t need to split up i think, cuz aurene could still just choose juyun.

so like, i think champion!juyun would be the easiest to figure out, but then his ‘special-ness’ takes a while to happen. saltspray!juyun gives him ties to cantha, but idk if it makes sense for there to be another saltspray dragon that can transform, and that he’d want to look like a norn. avatar!juyun is the most similar to his og version, but idk a lot about the gods and their avatars, and it being so similar might be a lil boring.

mm i think i might be leaning towards champion tbh, with saltspray dragon coming in second for now

im rewatching saint seiya and i am in a phase rn so bear with me cuz im thinking about this again so much, I got lots of thoughts im just gonna talk about

Other than just rewatching the original 80s one(plus like the rest if it cuz my siblings never got to watch all of it with me), i decided i'd give a chance to the knights of the zodiac netflix cartoon too and i was super surprised I really liked the second season alot more than i thought especially cuz I wasn't really the biggest fan of the first season

Honestly, the show isn't like the worst thing ever but like it had a very bad rocky start with all of the changes (Shaun💀, the military guy, i guess i can't really say anything too bad about it but the somewhat lackluster animation and how little impact of visuals we had as compared to the original ver,(like rly still thinking of the injustice of shiryu changing the direction of the waterfall only going up like an inch and its treated like he learned the move, its rly fucking funny how it was tho) plus the seriously fast pacing to cramp everything in there before the sanctuary arc but I'm actually glad I enjoying this show now cuz there's not alot of new material or spinoffs made from this franchise that is actually enjoyable unfortunately and i really did wanna give this show a chance when it first came out but we finally got to where its good!!!!! and like i actually appreciate alot of the changes they added or expanded in the 2nd season so the characters wouldn't seem so stupid or whatever. plus now the writing is evenly paced where it doesn't feel like things just immediately happen then move on before we get to fully take it in

Ok, like first of all I know its supposed to be a build up for the Sanctuary arc but honestly I really didn't understand why they went with this plot, personally I'm still not a big fan of it but I think that they way they used it for the story of them already knowing Sienna is already a goddess rather than them thinking she's a fake like the original because it takes out the plot point of why hasn't anyone seen Athena around for like 13 years and how they let that shit slide so I can see why they changed that subplot. Plus honestly, I feel like the the reveal will probably be that Saga was lying that she was going to bring chaos to the world anyway just so he could take over, though idk im just guessing it's probably what it is but ig they could still make the prophecy happen and its just like "changed fate" or whatever

Genet (ok im just gonna refer to her original name June cuz i don't know how they spelled it)

I'm super happy they made June sort of secondary main character and expanded her relationships with Daedulus and Shaun cuz she deserved so much better and they really delivered. Like i thought it was sweet they had more of a father-daughter relationship in this one and it was really sad to see the scene when she discovers he's died(or dying from this ver)

I also thought it was kinda clever they made Daedulus be Shion's student along with Mu/be like the inventor(cuz of his name haha) since he didn't do jackshit in the original other than basically die, plus we get to see early Aphrodite appearance, and it was super cool. I really enjoyed seeing their ver and of the fight instead of the handwave in the original 80s anime, that already had to unintentionally butcher the story to make it Milo who killed everyone on Andromeda Island then last second say "oh yea Aphrodite was there too cuz he spit the rose at Shun's teacher that weakened him"(which Milo got away scotfree for, like he wasn't the one who killed everyone on the island but Aphrodite is the bad guy cuz he helped kill the important character)

But anyways it was nice seeing June just get focus in general and get to fight and actually be cool, when in the original she was just Shun's love interest cuz she's girl. also her sibling relationship with Kiki was super cute, I liked them qwq I'm excited with whatever they give her in the future honestly

Starhill subplot

June's part sort of a build up to this part but I did like that they had the other "good guys" travel with Marin and June to Star Hill instead of just sitting around playing jacks and cards while they wait for the next 12 hours. Honestly it didn't bring much interactions(other than basically June and Kiki) or rly bring depth to anyone else other than Marin having a connection to Aiolos and him being the reason why she has a mask/forgot her memory, like the most they got for the gold saints is that they're basically in denial about betraying the pope or whatever

but I still thought it was great to see something else going on and its actually very sad that Mu found out Shion(or Sion, im assuming from how they pronounced it) died the hard way, which leads to this next one

The whole reason why the Sanctuary is on the Pope's side

Since they changed the reason why anyone would actually be on the Pope's side in this one being that they don't want the world to be destroyed so they begrudgingly decide they should kill Athena no matter the sacrifices, plus they highlight the Pope's good side much more rather than his bad side, Also the explanation for why Saga's blue hair and pronouns ass isn't found out, cuz his magic turns his hair the same color as Shion's when he puts on the helmet which like yeah

This one was actually a really good change in my opinion cuz it makes some of the characters who should probably be smarter about it, seem less stupid, cuz in the original story in general, Saga's actions as the pope is probably the most sus out there that basically its hard to see why anyone would still think he's actually a good person telling them the truth about anything. Then the 80s anime had to really take liberties and just hope the people watching would forget the crazy ass lore/explanations they said about the Pope and somehow just try to paste Saga into the picture to follow the original story of the manga, where the anime starts that the good pope died so his evil brother Pope Ares took over as the new pope where things began to just suck ass for the sake of it but then they had to fit Saga into the story where he had actually killed the original pope 13 years ago instead and its like which one? the first one or Ares? Or a completely different guy altogether? (who's the Shion fill-in)

So I think that the whole "It's a hard decision but we gotta do what we gotta do because the prophecy could fuck us up if we leave it to Athena" and its like yeah it's definitely more plausible and basically when Saga's evil side does something sus, he's (im assuming accidentally)immediately cancelled out by his good side crying or whatever about his actions that the others use that to basically guilttrip the person going against him to feel bad which makes more sense why they are stuck in this dumb loop rather than just seeing a blatantly evil guy be in control, (which is something ig i can't actually fault the original story anyway cuz there was no such thing as gray morality back then in the 80s, or ig if u count whatever "gray morality" manga!Shura had ig tho imo its dumb as hell but anyways thats a rant for another time)

But anyways this rant was mainly for Shaka cuz honestly, I think the original anime made him a lot more evil or as evil as they could make him and its like there's no way in hell how someone like Shaka doesn't even have a doubt about Saga, though ig he still doesn't know that he's an imposter in either version but the manga honestly has a somewhat (really take this with a grain of salt)better explanation onto why Shaka doesn't think Saga is evil as compared to the anime ver because he explains its the same reason he spared Ikki where deep down he's not really evil, but also like you are still enabling him being evil rn dude??🤨

Cuz like the scene where Saga does the Demon Emperors fist that mind controls Aioria right in front of him to kill a person, Shaka doesn't even bat an eye that he used a move called that while in the kotz Shaka at least questioned him a little about it but then immediately justifies it to himself when the pope gave him a handwave explanation and didn't tell him of what he's actually mind controlling Aioria to do (im pretty sure)

Anyways that was probably my whole rant about this but wow I have a change if heart about kotz now, im actually looking forward to the second half since they kinda abruptly stop at Milo's fight, They really just needed that slowburn to actually become a little bit better storywise

hey icha! back again w/ a3 Thoughts, lol. this will be short as its just abt into the night! i was so confused at first bc i was like is this an ALL MEMBERS event but then after they split into teams i felt much more normal abt it lol... anyways the clothing store f&f. i wondered if thats supposed to be like, h&m but i was thinking like. what are the possibilities of what each f stands for... fashion fur flawless fabulous frills forever theres a whole lot of things. but i think the funniest option for me is that f&f stands for 4 and 5 and nobody knows why. im glad we got to follow the group we did but i would love to have just. seen a birds eye view of the masumi group because sakuya taichi and kazunari in one and sakuya running after him... it is funny to me. also im obsessed with yuki being part of running the punishment. sakyo you are letting this fourteen year old run WILD. anyways loved the part before they got in costume where yuki was like "ya they were gone a while ago. i didn’t say anything tho." *points affectionately at him* middle schooler. i was also pleasantly surprised the main cg was banri and yuki? like, i was totally expecting itaru to feature and perhaps get in a conflict with yuki but this was actually a really subdued event! that felt really fresh to me, that it didnt like escalate into heavy drama or anything. also the cg was soooo cute. like banri and yuki smiling!! having fun!!! i also really liked that it was banri to give yuki advice since hes not even that much older than yuki so it makes it like, More Meaningful. the way in highschool the people i was friends with who were one or two years older than me did sooooo much to help me figure out applications to university! uhhh other notes i had... the part where izumi decides the theme was 'pet shop' while staring at tsuzuru and yuki was hilarious. its like. the event itself pauses for a long enough time that i was staring at yuki and tsuzuru and it really felt like a horror movie zoom even before izumi announced the theme. again i also liked that none of the acting challenges posed a problem! like there wasnt any huge conflict going on just a bunch of little things and that was a rly cool vibe. the aaron guy who challenged them,, hes funny. he gives me "was a chuuni" vibes but then again theatre kids are just Like That so maybe he's just accurate rep yknow. also itaru's alex in wonderland outfit complements his eyes sooooo well for real. homare lending azuma marshmellows to coax hisoka for the duration of the event is so funny. them specifially worrying about a marshmellow scarcity also makes me laugh. like... im just sitting there like. do u think homare sat down and calculated like "hm... this is probably how many marshmallows they need" i want to know how this went. also while the no signal is realistic i cant beleive banri and itaru had to sit down while playing. like sorry if im built different but i always play gacha games while walking. also i do want to say at the end while they were talking abt while tenma was last i was like "bet he got scared of the forest/a ghost and ran" and then they were like shitty sense of direction but later misumi said he was scared of the forest and i felt so vindicated. anyways i liked that itaru takes them to f&f at the end! thats the power of a working adult huh... it did make me think tho like. does yuki approve of banris fashion choices. bc they are Choices.

Oh man i LOVE Into the Night, i'm glad you got to reach it! usually events do tend to always limit the charas to focus on, imagine having to follow all of them. I mean i kinda wish we knew what happened with everyone but…

(obvs under the cut bc the whole ask got long, and also i gushed a bit about Into the Night bc i love this event)

and omg your brain fr f&f. I'm sure Fashion is one of them for sure. THOUGH I DO LOVE THE 4 AND 5 JUST TO FUCK WITH PEOPLE LMAO.

Masumi's group does seem to have been pretty funny. Just 3 sunshine boys trying their damnest to keep the broody one in place for more than 5minutes. I imagine them always having a big smile planing their play and then suddenly being "wait where did Masumi go OH NO". Plus, cat Sakuya and cat Kazunari together.

I also ADORE Yuki being part of the running punishment, the Yakuza really just saw a middle schooler and went "wait this guy can be my assistant in punishment" and he was right. It's esp another layer of funny considering how much Sakyo is always fighting him about the budget for their costumes, so he both knows that Yuki is restless when he prepares quality stuff, and, while he's so stingy about spending money, just went "listen i'll give you any money you want for the most high quality ridiculous costumes you can put anyone in" and Yuki just couldn't let the once-in-a-lifetime situation run away from him. Those two are a deadly duo.

dFDKJFLD Yuki is SO funny i love him so much.

And yeah omg this event really was low on drama but i did love the themes it explores and the dynamic they decided to have shine. Banri and Yuki probably have one of my favorite friendship in the story because of this specific event. (and their CG is SO CUTE i’ll never be over it i love it SO much, probably one of my fav event CG of all time)

The idea of Banri, who said himself he had a hard time understanding why people were struggling with anything, who generally doesn't really plan ahead or gets excited about anything about the future…. ended up not only doing the effort to understand Yuki (and, ever since Banri has been doing theater he's much better at understanding people's struggle anyway), but also have Yuki's drive and passion inspires HIM, the guy who never had any to start with… it makes me so emo. Yuki usually keeps his worries for himself so it was so nice to see this upperclassman whom Yuki actually respects (in a way), recognizes Yuki's strength completely unprompted and tell him that he'll always be here to cheer for him, and that he was inspired to be serious about what he loves because of him… it means SO much to me.

It brings me back also to how Banri is a fashionista (i know we judge him with western standards but from what i figured doing some researches he's apparently on top of fashion regarding Japanese trends. I have a friend, who knows a lot more about Japan's day to day life, who upon hearing that people clowned Banri for his fashion, reacted to me going "i've seen so many people in Shibuya with his exact clothes what"). For a Japanese audience at least it is supposed to be implied Banri has a good eye for fashion and Yuki is responsive to it.

Anyway i also bring it up bc remember how in the Autumn Chapter when Taichi destroyed all of Yuki's costumes, Banri gets very angry not because their show was ruined, but because "how DARE they attack YUKI'S HARDWORK". He gets upset on Yuki's behalf. And at this point they didn't exactly connect or anything, Banri was just fashionista enough to recognize Yuki was fantastic.

So after this event establish how much he respects Yuki and how he decided to protect him and encourage him i'm just… soft…. i genuinely love their dynamic so much.

Forever ago i've found a fanart on twitter (which mean i LOST IT and will NEVER RECOVER IT, Twitter lack of saving feater is my curse and burden) of Yuki, as an adult, preparing his first runaway as a fashion designer and getting nervous, until Banri comes in and puts a hand on his shoulder and smiles going "see i told you you'd get here. I'm so proud of you" and i'm crying in the club.

When i first started a3 i did have a really hard time to get into Banri's chara (which is a SHOCKER now considering he's very high on my top chara now), and by the end of Autumn i was just okay he's on thin ice but i'll be willing to listen to him. But Into the Night really was the event where he totally won me over. It really showcases his sweetness and willingness to help, especially the younger people in Mankai.

And it also speaks volumes about how now that he found a passion that really set his heart ablaze, he would do ANYTHING to protect this passion in the heart of people too. It showcases so much how Banri has grown and how much just finding a way to appreciate life and passion became so precious to him.

I have so much thoughts about this event in general it makes me teary.

I've also seen so many bad faith fandom takes back where shitting on Banri was the norm on tumblr (ie the reason i don't go in the tags) about Banri being a bully and would "probably be a bully to Yuki" and stuff like that and it would always enrage me in a "oh i BET you didn't read Into the Night." rage. Imagine being so wrong. So yeah this event means a LOT to me it's just so much.

But also as you say i think it's just so lovely to have just, healthy dynamic between "senpai and kohai" in a way, to really see how just having someone a couple years older than you guide you and help you… is really nice. Tho yeah Banri is just as guided by Yuki than Yuki is guided by Banri and i find it SO soft.

Yuki and his group of older teenagers who'd fight for his hope and dreams.

THE PET SHOP PART WAS SO FUNNY YOU'RE SO RIGHT ABOUT THE HORROR MOVIE PATHING LMAO. Just Tsuzuru and Yuki slowly dying inside.

but yeah the event having such cool vibes was really soft. The "battle type" events are usually laid back that way, with a random guy NPC (though it's often Aaron) challenging to act off, bc this was the new mechanism of the gameplay itself, so it's really superfluous to the plot but still pretty funny. Aaron is definitely a bit Chuuni yes. Accurate theater nerd rep.

Itaru's costume is sOO good you're so right. Another Yuki wins in term of costume designs.

YEAH OMG THE MARSHMELLOW THING. It's so fucking funny. I can totally see Homare calculating it very carefully knowing exactly Hisoka's pace and stuff and giving just as needed and a little more. Meanwhile, Hisoka, like a cat he is, knows that without his usual owner he can pretends to be starved and never have eaten in hIS LIFE to get more. This is literally Homare getting a list of "here's what you need to feed my cat at each hours" to Azuma, while Hisoka is just "actually those doses are left to starve me by my unloving father. I am dying. I am knowing level of starvation no cats should ever go through save me". And Azuma who's just a good sports is just "aw but what's one more treats!" which makes him a very easy target to the cat starvation tactic.

This is the Homare/Hisoka/Azuma dynamic in a nutshell and this event shows it off.

Also i genuinely love in this event how Tsuzuru has to "big brother up" Hisoka, having to carry him around. this event really was "the teens are carrying the team and the adults are the most useless people you might run into". Azuma didn't even try and tbh i respect that about him so much, kings of knowing his limits.

(tbh there's something i can't mention there but there's something about Hisoka's future arc that made me return to this event and fucking yell during his bits. I will of course not say anything and it is probably vague enough. But i genuinely ended up crying rereading this event bc of that. "but Icha, you always cry when Hisoka is involved" MAYBE BUT SHUSH.)

Banri and Itaru sitting down for their games is really funny yes, tho i believe it's a mix of they've been walking all night and only have a little break so they're gonna rest as they can (esp Itaru who's not made for walking). And prob the fact they're afraid to lose their connection while walking. But else mood, playing gacha while walking ftw.

DLKFJKLDFJ THE FACT YOU NAILED DOWN WHY TENMA GOT LOST. PERFECT. I love how Misumi points it out, once again with how he's babying Tenma is just muah. Poor Tenma. It's so onbrand that it hurts.

And i LOVE that about Itaru too. I love that he felt genuinely guilty and could see how much Banri and Yuki worked for it. I think it also speaks volumes about Itaru in general becoming more and more of a team player while being a "solo player" for the longest time. Even there he realizes he dragged them down and he needs to amke it up to them.

But anyway back on your last comment, like i mentioned, Banri fits Japanese standards for the fashionista lmao, and everything else in game (from mini chat to backstage to coin talks) points to Yuki really liking Banri's style. There's one, i think Mini Chat? about how he thinks Banri always have a good eye for clothes and his advices is super valuable because of that.

So i know we all want to dunk on Banri but the friendship between Yuki and Banri is pure and sweet and Yuki genuinely thinks Banri is one of the most fashionable people in the company whom he can trust with shopping and fashion advice. We all have to live with it and if we insist on Banri's fashion sucking i'm afraid we also have to say the same of Yuki's because those two are bird of feathers.

im LOVING your st season 4 thoughts and i don't want to sound like a Know It All but ALSO want to make sure you know there are still two episodes in left in the season that come out in july, it's not done yet!!! I didn't realize that when I first finished and was underwhelmed by the last episode. They're sayyyyying Mike is gonna have a Big Monologue in the finale so im hoping they do him a bit more justice??

ive been kind of arguing with my mom about this tbh because i hated the 001 storyline so much and my mom is low key convinced that it’s all a red herring and none of it is even true. but like my point is, even *if* that’s the case, then it’s still bad? like either way it’s poor storytelling. if it’s a bad retcon of the s1 origin of the upside down and the gate, then it’s bad and it contradicts itself. but if it’s all a red herring and that was all a ploy to get elevens powers back… then it’s bad pacing? because in that case we spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME in the lab for something that isn’t even real!!! so either way i don’t like it!!!

and yeah i agree im hoping mike gets his redemption but regardless im still annoyed about what they did to him this season for the same reason — like even if they redeem him in the last 2 episodes, we’ve spent way too much time with him being a dick!! like excuse me but who is this guy?? this is mike “i literally jumped off a cliff so the bullies wouldn’t hurt dustin” wheeler and now you’re telling me he won’t even give his bestie will a HUG? and that he only seems to care about his “girlfriend” but also he won’t say he loves her and that’s the core conflict of their relationship??? like im sorry but that is NOT my mike of s1 and 2.

(side note i also rly dislike the ‘i love you’ story beat. like i think the conflict of [mike: why did you lie to me about being popular, eleven: you think of me on a pedestal and it intimidates me, will: you are kind of ditching me for eleven and it makes me sad] is a good enough conflict on its own? why would eleven, a girl RAISED IN A LAB, care about mike saying i love you? it’s such an unnecessary addition to a character dynamic that was already fine!!!!! but ugh whatever they keep butchering mileven for literally NO REASON like they’re just supposed to be cute awkward kids please stop giving them actual relationship drama?? it’s weird)

ANYWAYYYY yes i am really hoping for redemption for all my issues in the last 2 episodes but regardless of what they do i will still be mad about how they massacred my boy mike in these first 7 episodes!! he did not deserve that!!!!! and i am still frustrated by the eleven storyline because like that was just not good no matter what direction they decide to take it LOL

this year my goal was to read at least 25 books (which now seems too easy) and i decided to start with rick's books cuz i loved pjo

(i then realized i had actually never finished the pjo series - i didnt finish the LAST book... thats crazy)

i went on yt and found a vid that showed the RIGHT way to read all his books so my journey started.

anyway blah blah blah, i wanted to talk about the kane chronicles

obv spoilers if you havent read those and if you care

hell nah. that series was so bad 😭😭 (imo ofc and ill explain why i think so)

i should mention that i read the first and third book, but i only read half of the second book cuz it got very looooooong and boring to me (i just read the wikipedia summary for it)

also the only reason i read these books was cuz i knew there would be a collab between the magicians and demigods and that sounded rly interesting to me!

im usually not that picky when it comes to books/fics/anything so i was surprised i didnt like these books. first of all theyre so long, and for what.. the world ends in 3, 4, 5 days yet each book is 90k words at best and 120k-ish words at worst. it just dragged ooooooon and onnnnn and onnnnnnnnnn. i thought maybe its just the length that im not used to (even tho ive read way longer fics but i thought maybe its not the same..) then i started reading the heroes of olympus series which was a similar length and i sped thru those. which prob means that the kane chronicles were just boring. i was gonna say that it just felt like there were attacks and fights just cuz, but then again, thats kinda similar to percy jackson books. i cant put my finger on why some fights felt kinda useless and filler.. unlike in pj books. also when they beat apophis it felt too easy. there was so much build up to that final battle, and in the end he got destroyed in like half a page or smt.. not satisfying! and since we know the kane siblings are still alive (cuz of the recording being sent etc), it didnt feel like there was anything at stake.

the egyptian mythology was actually pretty interesting, i did like learning about it. however, at times there was just a LOT of info being dumped- so many gods/stories etc that i had a hard time remembering everything. i think w the percy jackson/greek mythology books there was just more time for rick to set the scene and build the world so it didnt feel that overwhelming (even tho it was still a lot, im ngl).

and now my biggest complaint... i thought rick could write powerful female characters butttttttttt maybe that was just annabeth LOL. SADIE WAS SO ANNOYING!!!!!! she was SO unlikeable but i think we werent supposed to dislike her??? yeah shes young but so was percy and annabeth and every demigod from the pjo series and they were much more enjoyable to read about. all she cared about was guys. more specifically, sadie, a 12yo, was head over heels for ANUBIS, a THOUSAND YEAR OLD god, who oh yeah,,, looked like a 16yo guy but idk if its just me, thats still a WEIRD/uncomfy AGE DIFFERENCE 😭shes so lucky that she ended up w basically both guys she had a crush on, but she still made it such a big deal when that happened.

like anubis had stabbed her in the back or smt lmfao. also should mention that in the pjo books for ex., percabeth didnt just happen when they were 12/13... a long time passed so that relationship could feel unrushed and natural.

dont get me wrong, liking a guy etc is all normal and very teenage-y (even tho sadie wasnt even a teenager when all this happened). but making that MOST of her personality, or smt she constantly thought about and prioritized during the END OF THE WORLD. she just seemed very irresponsible and immature (which makes sense cuz shes a child.... maybe i shouldnt be reading these books as an almost 20yo) (but i can still tell when some1 has annoying qualities objectively) (even if its still a kids book)

idk thats just annoying. carter was tryna save the day/world and sadie had other things in her mind. or when she wanted to go hang out w her friends for her bday even tho the world was ending VERY soon and they had to get going. yeah she wants to be a normal kid but rn theres more important things you gotta think about bbg (and yes i do understand that the dance or her bday hang out would help w morale but at least be on the look out for stuff and dont think that youre not still on the job and most likely putting every1 in danger..). save the world first, then enjoy your life. maybe take a cake to go while youre traveling. maybe call your besties and talk to them on the phone for an hour or whatever

carter wasnt perfect, but even his obsession w zia wasnt THAT bad. it felt more normal and smt the reader (or i) could get behind and not dislike him too much for.

(when carter said that i thought he was in my head cuz i was literally thinking that sadie always leaves him to deal w important stuff)

i feel like theres more i had to say but theres too much negativity in this post already LOL im sorry 😭 this trilogy wasnt a 0 or 1 star, it was closer to 2 or maybe even 3. i didnt mind ignoring most of these. the only thing i couldnt ignore was sadie's attitude sometimes and ofc the weird relationship between her and anubis, but when walt showed up etc i had hope and it did get slightly better!

ofc im not a writer and i couldnt prob never write anything half as good as any of rick's books, but this is just my experience as the reader. as i mightve mentioned , rn im reading the heroes of olympus books for the first time and im enjoying them quite a lot!

anyways since scott himself couldnt keep the timeline clear (making the prequel thing first noticeable in 2 by having pg mention a guy using the suit to lure away the kids, implying the 5 missing kids happened there and willy remastering the old animatronics was to better hide the bodies, (i actually believe this is when william, being a narcissitic butthead, decided to frame henry properly, bc he realized henry wasnt coming back) meanwhile then contradicting that later, then again, and then a third time, while also contradicting everything else for funzies, like my guy—)

heres how i do tend to have it, not entirely canon ofc but nothing is and who rly cares, but again this is my main timeline, i’ll adjust for who im writing with of course, but its the timeline i made and i follow, whether some parts are right or wrong idc, dont tell me how you dont see it that way bc this is how i see it for how i write willy, anyways

fredbears first becomes freddy fazbear is after evan gets… squished, they retired the golden suits (in public) then whole the old/new animatronics are out aka freddy foxy bonnie and chica, is when he kills charlie, and she possesses the security puppet henry made, william sees that she possessed the puppet, got ideas, bc ofc he did, but he was already working on the toy animatronics. The ‘rumors’ about freddys werent about a ton of missing kids at the time, it was about how michael went missing the same time charlie died, and michael returned a few weeks later ‘spouting nonsense’ about being kidnapped by a man in fredbears suit, because william disguised himself as henry before taking michael and putting him in his little torture chamber below the ‘warehouse’ (that eventually becomes the ‘sister location’, or ‘circus baby’s rentals’)

aka yes, william actively tormented his son, which is in fact canon (as is the hallucinagetics, and he used voiceboxes in the plushies to talk to kids/in this case bc it makes more sense to me, he thought the voice boxes in evans plushies would help evans anxiety snd ‘make him stronger’, it just.. backfired a bit) it was about a year before he killed charlie that evan died and they retired the gold suits, foxy and chica were already made for events that called for freddy’s friends, henry and william built bonnie and freddy’s main suits we know and love after retiring the golden suits; which is why freddy and bonnie look so much newer than chica and foxy do,

and charlie’s death was not on purpose. he built the the fnaf 4 location under the SL for michael AND charlie, but charlie put up a fight and he ended up killing her on accident, which is why he didnt hide the body and just left her there. but then he saw charlie possess the puppet, and he got ideas, he could pick the kids and build himself and henry the ‘perfect family’. for the spirits to possess the animatronics and hold only life, there had to be a reason, which is how he discovered remnant, and he could use that to bring evan back to him, and make him and henry live forever. and as he went more and more mad with ideas, henry got suspicious and left.

while in the fnaf 2 location, william started to realize henry was not coming back, and thats when he decided to frame henry for the murders he was going to commit. spent each day of the week luring in kids, hid their bodies in the ‘old’ animatronics, etc, we get phone guys call, the police arrested the (fired) dayshift security guard first (bc william was bad at framing) and would turn their attention to henry later. ofc mangle rips out jeremy 2’s frontal lobe and they have to shut down again, william fixes up the old animatronics, freddys reopens, etc,

thats all ill give for now bc this is long but yeah william rly got set tf off by evans death and he wasnt really a decent person before that anyways but that made him a lot more murdery and michael knows first hand bc some of his friends were willys first victims bye

wowwow lol started today like hmm maybe life is looking up n good and ate breakfast n everything n got up then decided to drive to the thrift since i havent been there in like a month and need to rly be 100% comfortable for my driving test lateer this month and when i get threre two of the ppl who treaeted me like shit and just overall been weird w/ me were there shopping lol. well atleast two including the person who i was genuinely convinced was close friends w/ me like ugh . like bro i live here u guys live like a 30 min drive from here why are u frequenting the thrift liteerally walking distance from where i live. idk i guess theey were meeting up there lol cause one of them who i kno definitely probably thinks im ugly af was actually driving right behind me as i was turning into the thrift storee LOL like right behind me i dont kno if she noticed it was me since my hairs grown out longer and like i dont think we locked eye contact at any point but then when i noticed the person who i had legitimately thought i was close friends w/ there i just basically was like i need to get the hell out of here lol. well that thrifts hiring theere rn so i asked for an application first n everything but like ughhhh wtf. genuinley felt so nervous uncomfortable and gross when i saw them lol. like idk the audacity to treaet someone the way they did me and then to STILL go to the thrift that they know that i live walking distance from and regularly frequent and also like probably introduced them to. like its just so insane to me like isnanely childish to have drama for no reason otheere than that they were v awful ppl who would lie to ppls face constantly and like never take accountability for their actions. like why should I feel nervous there ugh.
