About the movie, I didn’t enjoy the Florence Pugh storyline that much, but I think it was to show the whole destructive world they were into. Well, idk. Did you watch Barbie? This is probably a really unpopular opinion… maybe I was expecting another thing, but I didn’t enjoy it that much, which makes me sad lmao.
Right? That was one of the story points I thought could be cut. He liked her, but she didn't like him, except she kinda did but she didn't want flowers but he kept giving her flowers and?? FOR WHY?
BUT the scene where Oppi talks about his affair? Das some excellent cinnamon tography 😌👌
Barbie was... fine? It felt just like the Lego movie?? Will Ferrell was even the same guy lmao. I understand why Barbie means so much to so many people but the movie didn't hit the way I thought it would either :/

after this month’s HG movie marathon i decided to compile my final thoughts of all of this lad’s films to see how much we rlly stan that Man

bridget jones’s diary: i know hugh grant is a womanising bastard but i did not believe him as the womanising bastard character in this story even tho he acted it well, still glad bridget dumped him tho and that fight scene was ingenius, five fight scenes set to its raining men out of five

“How’s Your Faith Now?”
The Nativity Story (2006) dir. Catherine Hardwicke
4.5 STARS!
So the bible is BURSTING with very Good stories and plots and is actually very eventful and exciting but the thing is that it covers like 500 years per paragraph and theres not a lot of imagery but i guess what can you do when the Holy Spirit is speaking to you that fast?
anyway!!!!!!
What can you expect for the movie that every Oscar Isaac Fan loves to hate because it makes them feel like they’re sinning for having a crush on the Son of God’s mother’s husband? And what can you expect from the director who would later make Twilight? :|
Answer: Good movie if a good movie is what you wanna watch... cause it pretty much ticks all the boxes (historical accuracy, POC characters, good score etc). You’re probably not going to enjoy it if you don’t care to much for religion history or historical movies and you feel guilty about perving at Joseph......
JOSEPH is my favourite bible character of all time (not the dream guy with the coat-Jesus’ dad.) let me explain you why:
I think Oscar also encapsulated his character and understood his POV because if i remember correctly he did an interview explaining why joseph is literally the most underrated, under appreciated, over looked character in the nativity story. Here we have a guy, who likes this girl like a lot - and you can see he does! he does the right thing (according to the customs of the time) asks his father if he can marry her, BUILDS HER A HOUSE, waits for her and THEN
she’s pregnant.
but its not his.
And not only did this woman maybe cheat on him - this puts them both in danger - because even though they’re married, they can’t have sex for a year… and, just, so many risks ok.
SO because Jospeh in a faithful Man of God who Loves His Wife, he trusts her. And he believes the Son is the Son of God  like real deal (after some convincing).
He: 1. breaks off his engagement with her so to protect her (this wasn’t actually in the movie but its in the book okay so just ok) 2. believes her 3. does not leave her 4. raises the child as his own.
And this is like #GOALS because he did all that DESPITE the fact that the son was not really his son - his DNA. (”To see yourself in a young face there is no greater joy”) yet he is humble and loving and faithful and kind and jUST SO GOOD LOOKING
But anyway, thats just the Joseph/Oscar side of things, and i think it is a good thing Oscar grew up in a Christian home - maybe that aided his construct of the character, but he hit the nail on the head. He portrays the sweetness and awkwardness of falling in love, the anger and heartbreak he endures when keeping this a secret (i mean COULD YOU IMAGINE being the earthly father of the Son of God and YOU CANT TELL JUST ANYONE WILLY NILLY)  and the strength and faithfulness it takes to follow God in such a capacity.
Anyway, the rest of the film:
Funny where it needed to be funny, excellent filmography, cinnamon tography, wardrobe and aesthetics. Excellent acting and authentic representation of not only the story itself but the people. I don’t think i saw one white person, which is a plus generally. it was a little slow, but heart felt. And i can’t wait for Christmas now.
