Hey fic writers, can I just-
This is my blog so Imma get on my soap box for one more thing about the whole "spam likers should be blocked" rhetoric.
People seem to have taken the idea from places like Instagram that spam liking gets you shadow banned because the algorithm thinks they're bots and—let me be clear when I say this:
THAT IS NOT HOW IT WORKS ON TUMBLR
Bots do not like your fanfic and fanart posts and tumblr does not ban you for getting multiple likes in a row!!!
Likes are literally part of the algorithm because tumblr has changed from the way it was back in the 2010s. Reblogs are absolutely one of the most helpful and valid ways to see posts on here—and people should definitely be encouraged to reblog and share with others, but reblogs are not the end-all-be-all of pushing content on here anymore.
The posts that the algorithm shows you takes into account the posts you yourself have liked and what those you follow/interact with have liked. You know these little feature here in preferences?
Tumblr media
THEY ARE ALL BASED ON LIKES AND FAVORITE TAGS
Its why you see posts like this if you turn on the option.
Tumblr media
Likes have become almost as equal in the algorithm as reblogs. Nowadays, a lot of people on tumblr's userbase only views the site via the mobile app instead of a laptop/desktop. It means that they're more likely to hit the like button on a post and scroll on so they can go back and find it later than they are likely to stopping every second to reblog each post.
That's just how things are now 🤷🏾‍♀️(and yeah that sucks lol)
If you don't believe me, the next time you see a post that has a lot of notes suggested to you in a search, tag or on the For You page—or anywhere on here, check the reblogs vs likes. Sometimes they're relatively equal
Tumblr media
But I have noticed that a lot of the posts suggested to me also have way more likes than reblogs.
Tumblr media
Again, I am NOT dissing people asking for reblogs because people really should be trying to reblog things from your favorite artists/writers/fandoms, but sometimes people will look at a post with a lot of notes and are more likely to reblog it. If you're looking for engagement then likes count towards that.
Social media has trained us to look at posts with a lot of traction (notes in this case), and make us more likely to share it. When you discourage and block people engaging with your posts via likes, you're just making the algorithm less likely to push your posts in the first place unless someone reblogs it.
And hey, if that's your jam, go on ahead, but even posts with ZERO notes that haven't been liked by people I follow get pushed to me if the algorithm thinks I'm going to enjoy it based on what I post and have liked before.
Tumblr media
I could also get into the fact that with the way tumblr is set up, you could be blocking people that have to like posts and follow you from their main blog and reblog via a different side blog.
You could be blocking people that are too shy to openly engage with certain content right off the bat.
You could be blocking newcomers into your fandom.
You could be blocking people that see your content promoted to them in passing and might decide to come back and follow you later.
If you don't care about likes and only care about exposure via reblogs, then uh...ok. But my point is: please stop spreading the idea that likes mean nothing on tumblr 🙃
With all that being said:
PLEASE LIKE AND REBLOG YOUR FAVORITE ARTISTS, WRITERS AND FANDOM CREATORS✨

Some thoughts as I'm starting out...
My goal is to at least get through New Gods #11. I keep thinking maybe people would check out the comic if they knew more about it, so this entire blog is me saying here it is, here's what it's all about. It's also me making the content I wish already existed. So it's for future me to look back on and re-listen or re-read. So there's that too.
After working through this first summary, I know each will take about three or four hours to read, write, record and edit. This isn't a trivial amount of work, and like I said in the intro, my time is limited. This is especially true for recording time because I don't live alone and we're always home at the same time. So I'm really hoping to do about one a month, but there's absolutely no guarantee. I want this to remain fun and not become a chore or obligation, so that's why there isn't a release schedule.
Besides New Gods, there are other random comics I want to share also! I've done a bit of this on my main, so I may reblog them here occasionally if this place gets enough followers who haven't seen those other posts. But point is, I want to do more, and I might intersperse them or go out of order. There are so many I'd like to cover!
And speaking of my main account, I don't plan to reblog the KRC summaries over there hardly ever, so you'll have to follow here for updates. I know that's going to limit visibility, but I really want this blog to stand on its own if it can.
And because I want it to be good and enjoyable and worth following, I am open to constructive criticism as long as it's truly coming from a place of positivity, and valuable enough to call out. Nothing discourages me faster than negative offhand remarks, and I know I'm not alone in that. So if you see something that ought to be done differently, let me know in an ask. I may choose not to do the suggestion, but I can certainly explain why (probably time and effort).
Last, I've gotta say that I am NOT a voice actor. It was incredibly difficult to read character dialog in a way where it doesn't get confused for narration, or one character doesn't get confused for another. Chances are by the time I record the next one I'll forget how I made each of these guys sound. I had a hard enough time remembering just in the one recording session! And you know what's interesting? What I ended up doing sounds nothing like how the characters sound in my head when I'm reading the comics. Moral of the story is, voice actors and audio book readers are so freaking talented.
(oh and if you're on desktop, I know the custom theme is a little broken. I'm working on it!)

Helloo 👋 it's been a while (as in almost 2 years hjfjdhdhjd) so if you're wondering who's this random blog suddenly on your dash, can't blame ya.
Been feeling the pull to get back here for a while, and almost did a few times before but the thing that finally made me go like "yes i have to rb this i just gotta" was seeing marner in a high ponytail and that's just so incredibly on brand from me ngl.
I've also realized i'm not really attached to any team (other than team finland), i'm just following the teams where my fave players currently are. So expect to see canes, leafs, panthers, flyers, stars and some hawks, maybe sabres too coz i apparently cannot not root for them. So, a mess basically, just like before 😌 And probs every team at some point but everything will be tagged!!
Anyways insert here we go again meme 🕺🏻

Its just like. I was a larrie up until around 4 months ago. But I had pretty much stopped caring about Harry way before that. By the time Golden released I suppose, maybe even earlier but if I had to choose a concrete time, it'd be that. The entire campaign was just so off putting and detached and straight up annoying. When I think back now, I realise that I was pretty much exclusively posting about Louis and even seeing Harry brought a distaste in my mouth, I just didn't realise until later that it was because of him. When all of you solo louies say that Louis is the one who makes Harry palpatable to Larries, its the absolute truth. I had actually joined the fandom in April as a solo harrie, then discovered Larry and thus Louis pretty soon. I suppose I became an ot5 larrie for a good while, but my stan list dwindled down to just the two of them pretty soon, with a soft spot for Zayn of course. it was when the vogue cover and article released that I decided to take a step back and view the whole thing from an unbiased view, because the exclusion of Louis pissed me off till no end. I also admit I hadn't read Harry's interviews before that because well nobody ever talked about it and I didn't know. But once I did... boy oh boy were they absolute shit ("sexuality is fun", "haven't found my cause", etc). It was also the time when I discovered yours, sea's and a few other solo louie blogs. And seeing the amount of shit (BLM link, the reality of euphoria, txf timings and the whole circus of things) he has done and is just brushed under the carpet, it really threw me off balance. Like how was I so blind? So wrong? More so, I also thought how do more people not see this shit and even in the larrie subfandom, why wasn't it talked about more? But anyways, all that was the final nail in the coffin. I suppose I was just hanging on a little at the end because he was the person who I started stanning and made the account for in the first place and it felt disloyal somehow even though I know/knew that's bullshit, its a stan account, he isn't gonna care lol but still. Also, I read a lot of fics around that time (again, probably I knew subconsciously that Harry isn't what he seems but I was not to keen on letting him go yet and fic Harry fulfilled that gap) and I think some of those good traits of fictional Harry seeped into the real life Harry, making him seem okay for longer. And even though some things still weren't entirely clear to me and the livestream t shirt threw me off a little but then I decided not to care by then because the evidence for the opposite, including Harry being a grade A asshole, was way overwhelming. Also, looking at their lyrics (one of their main proofs right now) with an unbiased opinion (where its not just interpreted as love songs was an eye opener. I also felt so bad that Louis was saying something different while I didn't even realise it as a fan.
I don't know why i'm telling you this exactly but I think that if i'd discovered blogs like yours (or twitter accounts, since i'm not really a tumblr user) earlier than when I did, I'd have unlarried so much earlier or maybe not even stabbed Harry in the first place. It just makes me sad that i've seen a bunch of larries, like past me, are on the cusp of becoming solo louies but don't because they refuse to acknowledge Harry's actions and the complete lack of larry evidence for the past few years (I do believe they maybe dated for a while in the band, but that's it).
At the end I just hope more larries see solo louie accounts and blogs with a fresh mind (especially since when we fight them on twitter, they really have no answers to our very valid questions and just decide to ignore, block or go private) and see the things for what they are. And thank you all for documenting everything so well.
I hope louis is having a great time, and is being loved up and cuddled hopefully while working on new amazing music and blesses us with a selfie soon.
Thanks for the message. I’ve heard/seen a lot of people saying similar things about becoming a solo louie.
Welcome to the louie side of things. It’s not always easy here, but there’s a lot of genuine love.

Hey I was wondering if you had any tips on starting a simblr? I'm pretty new and although I still haven't quite figured out how to recolour hai yet as Mac is a lot more difficult i do want to start a simblr although having no clue how! Thanks
Hiya! First of all, I would like to quickly apologise for taking so long to answer this, but I’ve been really busy working and such all week and I didn’t want to give you a half-assed answer so I decided to wait till now, I hope you don’t mind!
I am not entirely sure whether you want some general tips about having a simblr or more for recolouring/making custom content, so I will do a bit of both :’)
For Starting A Simblr (or just for Simblrs in general idek yo);
If you’re starting completely from scratch make a new account, so you have your simblr as your main blog and not a side blog - this’ll just make it easier for you to interact with people and vice versa!
Use correct tags for everything, please - For example, a lot of people incorrectly tag their stories, legacy pictures, edits and even random text posts as “s4cc/ts4cc” and it drives me and most of the community absolutely bonkers! Those tags in particular are for finding custom content and not for random sim edits/stories, so please, please do not be one of those people. The same principle goes for tagging your text/personal posts - some people only want to see sims related content so they block tags such as “nonsims” and “saviourhide” which are used to tag personal posts. I, personally tend to use “nonsims” for reblogs if it’s not sims related and “made” my own tag “purrsonal” for all my personal/non sims post so people can block it if they wish to. The same thing goes for tagging your NSFW and any sort of sensitive posts! (If you are unsure what to tag something as, then feel free to ask me - I’m more than happy to help!)
This is somewhat related to my previous point - personal posts are fun and enables your followers to get to know you, but there is such a thing as carrying away with sharing absolutely everything - It can be dangerous in general, depending on the amount of and kind of information you share online, but if you post a lot of rants/controversial/negative posts, people are more likely to unfollow or not follow you at all as most people don’t really want to see negativity on their dash. It is normal to get annoyed and rant, because sometimes you just need to get it out of your system - but excessive, unnecessary ranting/negative posts can deter people from following you!
Getting discovered and making friends can be quite difficult at times, but a really easy way to make acquaintances and friends is to be active on their blogs - like, comment, reblog, send asks/messages and so on! Most of the Simming community is really kind and polite, so don’t be scared to drop them a message or ask them questions :)
Again, this is related to my previous point - recognition of any sort of is nice and everybody wants to feel appreciated, but don’t get wrapped up in trying to gain followers, notes and attention! If you do, you’ll lose interest in your game and blog really quickly - and you may gain some negative/unwanted attention if you get too caught up in trying to become “famous”. Remember, notes and followers are not everything and it doesn’t matter how many followers you have. I know it can be a bit upsetting and disheartening if you don’t get recognition and attention when you want people to see your stuff, but all in good time - everybody’s different and different blogs grow at different rates, so enjoy what you do and post what you like and people will eventually come!
.. and most importantly; Treat others the way you want to be treated. Always be kind to others and the gesture will be reciprocated!
For CC Making;
Tutorials, tutorials and even more tutorials!! That’s honestly how I learned everything I know - I started with simple recolours and tried more and more things and I can somewhat mesh/frankenmesh stuff now, although most of my cc making is still done through texture editing!
If you’re struggling with something or not sure if you like it or not, save it and leave it for another day (…. or be like me and completely forget about it, then discover it again weeks/months later lmao). If you look at it the next day or whenever you next have some free time with a fresh mind you may be able to fix it or decide which direction you want to take the CC :)
If you are struggling and don’t know how to fix an issue and couldn’t find the answer googling it, don’t be afraid of posting it and asking for help - there are also some really talented and lovely creators out there too who have no issue lending you a helping hand if you’re struggling!
Last, but definitely not least - have fun with it and don’t give up!! It’s very rare that something turns out perfect with your first try, so don’t get disappointed, try again - it’s all a learning process after all!
I also put a little list together of a few tutorials for recolours and such I found really useful and used to make my stuff;
Solid Clothing // Patterns // Hair // Recolouring using Paint.net // Frankenmeshing // Retexturing* // S4S Forum Tutorial Master List
*Note: I didn’t actually learn how to retexture/edit textures via tutorials but through trial and error and playing around, but I found this tutorial and I thought it was useful so I included it! I have used all the other tutorials at one point or another though :)
