Optimus: I don't think about him a lot sometimes, which is so crazy given he's like!!!? One of the most important characters???!??! But I really like his G1 iteration a lot, something about him being a strong but gentle leader is really awesome and it's always lovely seeing that in op! I also adore his tfa iteration a lot, he's a lot different from the others and he gives the vibes of a depressed college student hes so awesome dawggg
Megatron: Megatron is also someone I don't think about a large amount, but I really like how cartoonishly evil he is in G1 I always adore villains who are just so stupid and goofy. Tfp is a lot less goofy but I think his design is super cool, even though he looks like a spaced out shark in some shots. OH but beast warss is alsoso ballerrrrr he might be my favorite so far just because of how he's also a good mix of a kind of serious villain, but also silly and I love how he always is like yeeeessssssssssssss..............
Starscream: OHHHH STARSCREAM MY WONDERFUL WIFE STARSCREAM <3333 i saw him and immediately was like oh you're so annoying I am in love wichuuuu <333 I once again am conflicted on who I like most, But I adore him in G1 for how also cartoonishly evil he is, and backstabby he is, and how grating his voice sounds. I also love him in tfp because his design is a lot moreeeee like differentish? he looks so weird and fucked up in shots too, and he's still super backtabby its so awesome of him. Ouuggh and he has such a stupid massive chin in tfa and I immediately recognized him as ice king its so funny. He's just about as backstabby in tfa as he is in every single other show, and I would not have him any other way....... <3333 anyways im choosing all of them, including bayverse yeah hes kinda fucked up and stupid looking but theres a charm of sorts to it :3

you pointed out nova storm being yellow now and it's going to haunt me wondering if ciro neili (did some of the character designs) did that as a friggin' monkey team reference
okay so the thing is Nova Storm is a rainmaker. a character that barely exists but IS from G1.
the yellow one. but the thing is that even though the rainmakers are like, quite popular, since they are seekers, and have been referenced in fanon for decades, this character did not get a name until 2015. From Ask Vector Prime. So the rainmakers are Acid Storm (green), Ion Storm (blue) and Nova Storm (yellow.)
Obviously Nova Storm (yellow) is very confusingly similar to completely unrelated character Sunstorm. The other yellow seeker.
Apparently some old fanon staight up asserts Nova Storm is just a miscoloured Sunstorm? god. who knows. Also, to be clear, despite the fact Sunstorm's name ends in -storm, he is NOT a rainmaker. completely unaffiliated. coincidental.
this is where shit gets weird
so in 2015 Nova Storm gets a name. okay, solid. We have agreed the yellow one is named Nova Storm.
Three years later in 2018, Cyberverse airs. This is the new Nova Storm.

Why are they so similar????? Both purple, both girls. like, really similar purples, too! Theres different models for the girl and boy seekers.
so this is Cyberverse Acid Storm, another rainmaker. due to, I believe, a miscommunication during production, some episodes use the female seeker model for Acid Storm and some use the male. Addressing this on twitter staff has owned up to the mistake and instead of getting defensive, rolled with it and said hey, well, its in there, so its canon! Acid Storm is genderfluid lol. And I kind of love that.
In any case you can see distinct differences in the models, so like. if Nova Storm used the male model, at least it would be different from slipstream. as it stands purple nova storm, for some reason, is one of the most frequently appearing background seekers, so it ends up, imho, being VERY confusing. especially if you arent like me and the rest of us freaks and you cant recognize every character by a picture of their ankle.
so like, to be clear, I'm pretty sure Cyberverse is actually the first time any actual STORY used the name nova storm. I think the only thing predating cyberverse is the ask vector prime. at the very minimum this is the first major use of the name, for the purple female character. at this point the connection to the yellow rainmaker is.... tenuous??????

i genuinely hate referencing this but the only other appearance of nova storm is as an angry birds pig costume and while its still mostly yellow i DISTINCTLY note the black cannons and yellow and hands like. thats. thats from the ask vector prime design.

this is the Iron Factory third party Nova Storm figure from their rainmakers set. this was revealed in 2019. the angry birds costume is from 2020. 2020. i genuinely think it might be possible iron factory put their foot down and said "the black and gold design fucks" and everyone forgot hes suppsoed to be neon yellow

holy shit. look at this. we have nuked the yellow from this design. she's now PRIMARILY black with gold HIGHLIGHTS. who IS this. i guess nova storm has actually now been female in MORE appearances than male????? and as far as I can tell, the gold and black design traces specifically back to deviantart user bdixonarts who has virtually no industry credits OTHER than creating the modern design for Nova Storm???? she, uh, crushed it, i guess
also an incredibly fun note i didnt know until just now: do you know who voiced earthspark nova storm? any guesses?
Nicole Dubuc. nicole fucking duboc plays her AND skywarp. nicole dubuc is the head writer. she wrote rescue bots. and final side note, tfp ratchet's catchphrase "I needed that!" came explicitly from her scripts lol. god this is so funny to me she went from recording rescue bumblebee's lines before they were replaced with beeps to just straight up being Novastorm and Skywarp in a mainline show.

I drew this at the end of December/beginning of January and debated posting this, but figured fuck it. This is TF related.
Thomas is a Roland Juno 106 Synthesizer and Guy-Manuel is a Roland TR 909 Drum Machine. Both were used extensively in their early works. Styled in a blend of G1 and TFA!
Long rant about both DP and TF, feel free to skip!:
2023, for me, was the year of the robot. Early last year I listened to DP's entire discography, and while in the middle of listening to HAA their 10 year remaster of RAM released. Since then, the entirety of this year has been dedicated to house music.
They've always had a special place in my heart, as I was familiar with their standout hits (Get Lucky, Harder Better Faster Stronger, Robot Rock, etc.) but I never took the time to delve in deep. I finally had the time while on a trip with some friends. It's surprising how enjoyable it is to listen to Around the World while stuck in a van with others for hours at a time. Now, whenever people think about me, they think of that song. An earworm that entire week for sure.
I remember in June when they released Infinity Repeating. A friend sent me the article of it, and I remember bawling my eyes out while listening to it. Several times, in fact.
They were my number one listened to artist last year. I had almost 60k minutes listened, and out of that, I spent 7.7k of those on DP alone. Discovery was my number one album, 196 plays. While not my number one song (just missing the mark by one play), I listened to Face to Face 142 times. All of that is on apple music alone.
When I came back from that trip, I was reminded of Transformers. I, as many youngish people at the time, grew up with the Bay films. I also had the TFA game on my DS, and watched G1 a few times thanks to my little brother, but I definitely wouldn't say it was a core piece of my childhood. I binge watched the Bayverse movies, watched TFA, then TFP, then Earthspark, then G1, then intermittently read the comics (still ongoing with that one), tried watching RID 2015 (couldn't get through it, sorry) and then Cyberverse.
All in the span of a few months.
It's another thing people know me for, now. Not just in real life, but my online presence here is attached to it. In just this half a year interacting online I've met some amazing people. There's definitely other things to say, like how I know more about Transformers than my dad that grew up watching G1, or how I fondly recall painting my best friends nails while watching the 86 movie (his brother hates when men paint their nails, we wanted to prove a point).
There's so many things I could say about this year, how incredibly humbling but exciting it was, how much I've grown and learned this year.
But I want to say thank you. To both everyone I've met and everyone that's read this far. Here's to another!

I can’t believe they made me fight an upgraded balteus lmao but what balteus wasn’t ready for was an upgraded ME 😈
Good game! Visually very very pretty to look at, mentally I’m clapping a lot at the credits rn lol
And the choices the game made me do lol aaaaaghhh. I almost considered putting the game down for the day when it asked me to betray carla. Same thing with eliminating G1 Michigan, only because I thought VIII Pater was my friend (turns out he’s sick in da head!! Scary guy. Really lives up to his AC name “dual nature” whew) less messed up arquebus members the better. In the end I went with ayre all the way but not because I like ayre but because of 2 things
1) carla she did try to kill me once (she made up for it by saving my ass out of prison tho)
2) (the more important reason why I sided with Ayres idea) — who knows what the ecosystem of the planet would be like with the complete removal of coral, not to mention coral is semi sentient so it’d be like super massacre if I went with Carla (and Walters) idea of destroying it all. ALSO, the destruction of the giant space ship crashing into that coral harvesting place, like what would life be like for the rubiconians? Even worse? Nobody has their interests in minds bc as far as they’re concerned they’re always caught in the middle of some corporation war, so if I sided with Carla it’d be adding fuel to that corporation war fire :(
Like ayre says at the end though, I’m sure we can avoid a fires of ibis situation 2.0 if we work really hard together. 621 is a human that didn’t lose their mind completely after contact with coral voices and maybe it has to do with the fact that they’re a fourth generation human (since the later generations worked out the kinks of not having to hear coral anymore)
Also. During the very sad heartbreaking (for me) killing carla mission, do u know how excited I was to beat the shit out of snail lmao
After reading that his augmentations were only perfected thanks to who knows how many innocent deaths, and his mind re-education shenanigans I’ve hated his ass since DAY ONE. Even IF he’s a sassy funny guy
Ok the ps just told me the trophy for this ending is called liberator of rubricon. Whatever ending that is lol idk what ppl are calling it

Oh right about snail tho, back in the Carla mission? I was talking mad shit while fighting him like “I ALREADY BEAT YOUR DATA IN THE ARENA YOU THINK YOURE HOT SHIT??” that sorta thing. And u know how dissapointed I was that I didn’t kill him right then and there? His ass escaped that ass beating. Don’t matter tho I terminated his ass for good when he was riding that toddler ass upgraded baby chair balteus 2.0
Idk how from soft does it but they keep making these super super climatic boss fights and super fucking awesome attack patterns that are both visually appealing and difficult to evade/survive but when you do it’s like you’re really in the fight in that moment it’s awesome :) this happened with balteus, balteus 2 purple laser moment, and the fuckinnggggg icewormmmm, malenia elden ring comes to mind (alongside demon souls king of storm)
And I can’t believe they got me with the sekiro monkey “it’s not dead! It’s getting up again!” Moment too god damn that flying boss whew, sad the game wouldn’t let me use that boss’ sweet ass wings as a part to equip :(
Rusty really warmed up to me, initially I was a hater because his ass was always setting me up with these missions that always had an extra lil spice in them meant to kill me or set me up in some way (probably arquebus’ fault) but he…. Waghhhggg………”the first to join” ok cool….ty for being so eager to reunite with me rusty…I honestly thought he was dead after the ice worm mission….and the fucking line he says “there’s only one person who can keep up with me” with 621 in on the comm to listen in on….what are we…….(we’re buddies…)
Great game. And amazing cast of characters, like maybe it’s the voice acting that really nailed it but for me to care about a bunch of people (g1 Michigan…..) that you never actually see in game and only hear is wild lol
I do not care for ayre tho. I’m sorry I’m a hater, she always said some common sense stuff like “remember to dodge” baby we been on how many missions together now please. If she was a deep voiced lady I would’ve been on my hands and knees tho, and if she had a male voice I’d be even worse lol
Cortana ass!!!! Anyways cutest ayre moment was 621 and her watching these giant nuke missles hit a massive structure and she’s like (cutely) “they’re really like fireworks” & I had to laugh and be like we gotta get u some real fireworks ayre they don’t look like this gsvdvdvd
Right and do u know how much I was pogging when the fake raven or Rather the Real Raven showed up??? Damn what was that guys situation about and their handler too? Hmmmmm (dlc potential?)
Fun ass game! Slow start but momentum wise it keeps speeding up and then the end is like WHAM did ya like it and I gotta be like YEAH. I DID. Now I have the urge to play the other endings in ng+ since my AC is geared the fuck up to handle anything I feel like. Kinda wish the pacing at the start stayed the whole way as in slow pacing the entire game with the game letting me kill more shounen protagonist types lol (although that would mean killing ppl like Rusty hmmm my sadism for wanting more murder of naive protagonist types and love for rusty is like oil and water when it comes to that idea lol)
One complaint tho just one, the ost can be somewhat lacking. It has its moments tho!! There’s like 3 tracks that really kill it, and they’re at important moments too. Iceworm, balteus 2.0/snail showdown, and Carla fight are good. The rest went over my head tho sowwy
Now that I’ve achieved credits in this game im a certified armored core fan (even tho this is my first one) and I’m glad this game is getting attention! I really hope they release more AC games bc this kicked ass, maybe they can take a break before taking that on though, because every single mission is pretty breath taking visually, and MASSIVE in terms of sheer size sometimes like damn. Lots of love!

Babe what does this even mean??? What do you mean “get to know me”?? Shows that are the reason that I am the way I am?? That make people watch them and then go “yeah this explains so much about you”? Blorbos I project too hard on?? The vibes? The core memories??? The quoteability?? Which ones make me scream out loud the most?? What does it all mean?? You already follow my blog, you know which shows I'm obsessed with, but what shows do even give insight into anything besides what I like in stories??
But uh yeah. My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Easy pick. Whatever reasoning you want from the potential meanings of this tag game up there, it has it. The first three seasons are so good! Though I did drop it when Twlight became an alicorn, that just felt too much toy-selling show to me personally, same with equestria girls. But like I grew up watching old school MLP (G1), and I adored it. Then I reach 20 and suddenly FiM (G4 for those keeping track) comes out and it is such a gigantic blast from the past and damn if I didn't get hooves over head from the start. I was obsessed. I was one of the “mods are asleep, post ponies” people. And the way they fucking based Pinkie Pie on me? Like right down to the Pinkamena rock farm backstory? Scary stuff right there I’m tellinng you.
But 7 other shows to pick?
Monarch of the Glen is an old show, and I will admit that I haven’t Really watched it since I was in school but it has stayed in the back of my mind since I was like 10 so. I never cared for the main couple, as characters they are fine but even back then it felt like a “oh yeah, here’s two pretty people from opposite genders (and social status) and so we have to make them get together” which was Not what the show was about To Me! But just all the other interpersonal relationships? The parents romantic relationship? Top notch. The struggle of trying to please your parents but still doing your own thing? Trying to find out what that thing is? It does never get old. Also I had the biggest crush on Duncan and that does tell you so much about my type still lol
Galavant released the trailer and at first glance everyone already knew it was a very Me show. I’m not sure what it says about me, but it fits me very well. With the sense of humour, disney references, bursting into unprompted song, wanting to dress like a ren fair character, horseback riding, daring sword fights. A prince in disguise! I mean what. I don’t project on anyone super hard, but I do vibe like crazy to the whole thing, and the soundtrack is a banger that never truly leaves my brain.
Scrubs might just look like the silly little doctor comedy show, and it is! But it also has SO MUCH heart and I just love the lessons it comes with. Again, it’s been a hot minute since I watched it so I won’t vouch for how well the humour has aged, but that was never the point of the show either. The point of the show was watching people care about each other in all different kinds of relationships and so many of the more heartfelt exchanges still live in my soul even now. Like that time JD went to the “evil lab guy” everyone was scared of because he didn’t want his patient to have what the results said they did and the lab guy asked “do you Think I made a mistake or do you Hope I did?” and JD just said “I’m kinda hoping you did” and the whole scene softened and lab guy did the test again. I don’t know, that scene has lived rent-free in my mind for like 20 years whenever I hope things aren’t as bad as they seem, hoping that some higher power lab guy will take pity on me and say they mixed some tests up.
Malcolm in the middle is again just that silly chaotic show from when we were kids - sibling edition - but again it just has so much heart and I don’t know. Watching it again as an adult, yes sure, it has aged, but the big bits stay the same. How the parents Chose each other every day. How the kids might beat each other up with bricks but wouldn’t hesitate to turn to arson if anybody else tried to do the same to their brothers? Yes, it means a lot and even though I might not have “learned” as much from it as Scrubs, it still resonates with me about how growing up felt.
Until We Meet Again because at my heart I am a hopeless romantic who wants to believe in soulmates. It’s a pretty recent show in general, and I only watched it a year ago, but it felt like it understood me more than I understood it, so it is on this list anyway. But I will always hope that if someone meant enough to you and you meant enough to them you Will find your way back to each other, in this life or the next. Not saying this show didn’t absolutely destroy me, I spent 3 hours just crying and shaking after the first episode, and I think I spent a majority of the show being a dehydrated little blob, but it was so worth it. To watch both timelines fall in love and choose each other? To watch the modern timeline have friends and be happy among more than just each other? Everything I could have asked for. 12/10. For real.
Not sure what Goblin has to say about me. We’re all depressed and deserve a good cry and a hug? I guess it means that there is always hope for things to get better, in some way. Even if it doesn’t come about as you thought it would, or when you hoped. But there is always someone out there who cares about you, whether or not you know they do.
I can’t believe I almost forgot about Black Books! Fran is me and I will turn into Fran if bf ever does leave me rip. For real. I even used to have a marriage pact with a friend who was just like Bernard that stated if we both reach our 40s and are single we can be drunk and miserable together. So many of these moments get referenced on a daily basis in our home, everything from how “on no accounts must they know the real you!” to the Cleaner. Yes, if you watch this show it will explain so much about me. (Please don’t do that)
Okay, yeah. This only took like 4 days to complete lmao. Might have taken it a bit more serious than intended, but the theme of the game is just to wide and I didn’t only want “these are the shows I’m currently obsessing over” cause yall already follow me and know which ones those are.

Another long response, cut on account of how I can't shut the fuck up. Ask game here.
1. Canon I outright reject
I don't really like to reject canon, so I tend to instead go out of my way to incorporate elements of canon that seem contradictory to give me more wiggle room instead. But I'm mostly doing Sunbow G1/toy canon fusion for the Stunticons, with a few things taken here and there from Marvel G1 but not much. So I suppose you could say I reject the entirety of Marvel G1, but Marvel and Sunbow are basically two different G1 canons the same way IDW G1 is not the same as Sunbow G1 and certainly is not the same as G1 toy canon.
That being said, I'm not doing RID2015/Aligned with them, because that's an entirely different set of characters and I'm not particularly interested in them at the moment. So I also reject that canon, for a certain definition of reject (though I think "ignore" would be a little more accurate).
23. If they were a scented candle, what would they smell like?
This is hard because I very badly want to take the literal approach. SO I'll do both.
Literally: gasoline, asphalt, electrical fire and hot metal (copper or iron both work but either way he should smell a bit like blood imo), with undertones of carnuba wax (car wax lol) and some kind of lysol-y air freshener. I know this sounds horrendous but I would burn this candle without question because to me that sounds like it smells very good.
More figuratively: Drag Strip is ruled by ego and a hatred for losing. He smells like a pale imitation of some more successful candle. So I googled best-selling candle scents and used this article - so chosen because it's by "the strategist" and that's the kind of stupid bullshit he'd buy into - and their best candle is fucking weed flavored. Like fucking cannabis. Which is really low fucking hanging fruit honestly to be like "my favorite character who is a loser smells like weed" but you know what. I did in fact say he was a pale imitation of something someone else thought was cool and then went to the first webpage with the right kind of stupid "cool" bullshit on it so I'm kind of locked into this now. So he specifically smells like, apparently: "Cannabis, suede, white musk, tulip, and amber" but like poor-quality imitations. He mostly smells like burning wax and chemicals, and the oils giving him his flavors are not very well-mixed, but he does smell like that some.
(what the fuck is white musk??? why does this site list the flavor profile as green amber?????? i hate candle scents so much)
26. What they would do if stuck in an elevator with [insert character of your choice from the same fandom] Soundwave or Vortex?
With Vortex, I figure Drag Strip would kind of just shoot the shit until either he or Vortex says something annoying and then they'd start fighting with each other. Ten hours on when they finally get the elevator open both of them are bleeding and Drag Strip has categorically lost and is sulking in a corner.
With Soundwave... I imagine that while the elevator is still working he's quiet and awkward, but as time drags on he starts occasionally trying to give Soundwave like an elevator pitch about why he should be promoted, or put in charge of more stuff, or something... but every time Soundwave tells him to be quiet he shuts up for another, like, twenty minutes, so it's very slow going.

[accepting the sleepy posting] tfa made the bold decision (it made several. in service of being a Good Cartoon. and not just. Good TF) to not super explain MUCH lore lore. techincally speaking its in the future. so all that other shit happened. except no it didnt it wouldnt make any sense if that was true. unless we keep making the same guys i guess. which. IS possible. but no cmon. anyway.
IT MADE the decision NOT to overly explain the goals of the factions. BUT showed things that HAPPENED. namely. oh my god so much autobot, post winning the 'great war' governance thats just like. OH! wow! yall suck FOR REAL! 1 of our main characters has ptsd about it. others, directions of their lives changed by it. including. one being ARRESTED. FOR DRAFT DODGING. guess theres no. um conscientious objection (he got called a PEACENIK).
so in comparsion we know like. BUBKIS about what the badguys want. well. power. ruling the planet. and um their obviously fine with. Murder. tho okay are the good guy government NOT? hmm? but also like. oh u wanna take over the planet with the government that sucks. so bad. and has actively harmed our mains. no yeah. thats. terrible. and its a lack of hmm. suggested governence ideals. not a lot of ideological goals pitched that arent just 'everyone will listen to ME'
But ASIDE from the aesthetic of obsolute cartoon evil they also gave megs the aesthetic of. not revolutionary. but hes playing the game. their phrase is transformer and RISE UP. which neat and tidy, their mostly flying types not driving types. but regardless. Fucks Severly. absolute class act. roll out. where? to drinks? the store? RISE UP. its got connotation dont it.
they show megs playing the fucking game too. he knows how to be a propagandist. he gets the P.R. doing the charming, convincing rhetoric thing. also sexy. duh. tf has a running thing with dealing with guys that are Today Years Old. fully formed 'adults' [altho this show also pushed the hypothetical of robot babies]. well anyway. the heros drop the ball severely and consistently in a way that makes u think. is this? not a thing u have to deal with. culturally. and its VERY fun to see the villians, you know, handle it. Oh they told u we were evil. Oh no no no. its a misunderstanding. lets discuss over high quality. sustenance? LIKE.

Starscream:
one aspect about them i love: He's a menace, he's got trauma, he's wild and obsessive, he's fuckin SMART, he's the whole package! But on top of it all, he's a sad, lonely, poor little meow meow who in the end is really trying to do good by his Planet. I will fight on this.
one aspect i wish more people understood about them: He's legit smart. He's a scientist. He's got that curiosity and skill. He's not the 2nd in Command and Seeker Commander for nothing. He also knows EXACTLY what to say to get someone to do what he wants them to. He's good at words.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character: He.. does care about his trine and fellow seekers.. They're not just canon fodder. Especially his trine. He's that bitchy friend that will may bitch about you occasionally but will pull the fuck up when you need him.
one character i love seeing them interact with: Bumblebee. Absolutely LOVE the duo they make. The banter, the ''i can make him better/worse'' vibes, enemies to friends? Beautiful.
one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more: Again, Bee. I got it once and I want more. I crave it like I crave candy.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character: He has read all of Thundercracker's writing and has a datapad full of them that he keeps. He's too proud to admit it, but will slip up and mention something from them to TC who is mind blown but excited to talk about it all. He also does get wrapped into prank wars with Skywarp, whether out of annoyance, anger or just camaraderie, no one knows.
Megatron:
Okay, listen, I'm probably the only one in the fandom that thinks this, but I don't like Megatron much. G1 Megatron is the only likable one. Now don't come at me saying ''OH but BBDW!! What about Earthspark Megs?!" Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was excited for him because I love that actor, but I saw too much about him and it squashed it. He gets one more chance, thats it. I saw that goddamn field of blue in MTMTE and that was it. Nail in his coffin for me. Don't come at me, I'm full of unpopular opinions I won't change my mind on. But ya'll enjoy your war criminal and remember to have fun with it.
Optimus:
(I am only in the first season of G1 and have barely read enough IDW comics with him in it, so this is really a combo of G1 and Earthspark!)
one aspect about them i love: He's a dad. He's fully a dad. Caring, hopeful, optimistic, lifting. God he's such a dad! The way he can keep the Autobot's heads up and strong? Love it, appreciate it.
one aspect i wish more people understood about them: I think we all understand Mr. Optimus fine. I do wish IDW understood the memo on Dad-timus Prime though.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character: Still forever trying to get his kids to get along. Forever trying to teach Rodimus how to be a Prime. He may not understand the new kid slang, but he does understand their feelings and rowdiness. He will indulge them.

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character: Silly guy, goofy guy, but definitely the one you go to for deep conversations late at night or around a campfire. He's like the cool Uncle that takes you to fun concerts when your parents say no.

1. So, I’m thinking late G1. After Unicron, after Rodimus and Galvatron have been at it a while, after Optimus has been resurrected and the Primacy returned to him. This frees Hot Rod up to a) be Hot Rod again, and b) be so incredibly lonely because ascending to the top of the ranks was isolating as all hell, but descending back down doesn’t manage to put him back on the level of everyone else again. They followed him as the Prime for years. They know he’s going to be the Prime again when the time comes. It’s like impostor syndrome from a different angle, and it’s awful.
And, of course, who can forget Galvatron? Galvatron, who will never accept Optimus in Rodimus’ place. Who tracks Hot Rod down just to fight him and exchange banter with him, and prove to him (and to himself) that this is his nemesis, his rival, his fated, his other half, his –
Yeah. They slip into a secret relationship from there. (Well, Scourge and Cyclonus know, but no one else does.)
2. Now, in G1, new mecha come from a) Vector Sigma, like the Aerialbots, b) built and then slowly develop sapience over time, like the Dinobots, and the good old fanon c) from robot pregnancy. Let’s say that when two (or more!) mecha join and blend their sparks and EM fields enough, there is a small, miniscule chance of creating a spark which then orbits around its carrier’s spark and develops and strengthens over time, until it’s ready to be put into a frame.
It’s rare. It is, in fact, so rare, that Hot Rod barely knows what’s happening when the first symptoms show up. It’s only when he looks through the medical archives – he is not going to the med-bay if he can help it – and then in front of a mirror with his chestplate open to see his spark chamber that he fully realises what’s happened. Ah, crud. Now what’s he gonna do?
3. Turns out he probably should have been more worried about what Galvatron was going to do. His bonded (who can look after himself) stuck amidst his enemies (ignoring that his bonded is also ostensibly an enemy)? Difficult, but Hot Rod can handle himself, and Galvatron refuses to insult him so. His mate and unborn heir stranded behind enemy lines? Now that’s a whole other story.
Galvatron has never been a mech inclined to creation. Didn’t, in fact, think that he could kindle a spark with another, the influence of the Destroyer too great within him. So this is nothing short of an actual miracle, and certainly a sign that Hot Rod – the only one who can match him – belongs to and with him, and he to Hot Rod.
Yeah. So there might be a bit of… light kidnapping.
4. Hot Rod’s response to this is somewhere between, Oh, my mate has come for me and is here and keeps me safe and provides for me, the way his carrier coding is rejoicing at, and a much more Autobot and Hot Rod-esque, Bitch the fuck you don’t, what the hell?
But Hot Rod? Hot Rod has a plan.
You see, in Cybertronian society – both Autobot and Decepticon – carriers (currently carrying a spark to emergence) have the absolute last say on matters of the new-spark, especially concerning when and where they choose to separate them from their own spark, and of their new frames. This is a hold-over from when carriers had to be hidden from the view of their Quintesson masters, so that the mecha created may be smuggled out and emerge free, but it still holds strong sway – for better and for worse – to this day.
“Galvatron, if you don’t open negotiations for an end to the war, I’m leaving and I’m taking the new-spark.”
5. The reactions of his fellow Autobots are… something, to say the least. Most of Hot Rod’s time is spent assuring them that yes, he loves (no matter how ill-advisedly) Galvatron, and yes, the carrying was accidental but yes he does want the new-spark, and no, Galvatron is not going to betray the treaty, he’s a mech of his word and more than that he knows what I’ll do if he pulls that kind of slag, chill out.
Optimus looks a bit stunned at how all this ended. Magnus just sort of… runs a hand over his face and then buries himself in logistics. Kup is somehow both Hot Rod’s greatest supporter and greatest detractor with the way he can’t decide whether or not everything that’s happening is good or not. That’s tiring, so Hot Rod hopes he figures that out, because he does love Kup, really and truly, but this is exhausting.
Springer and Arcee join forces with Scourge and Cyclonus regarding being the long-suffering best friends (an Autobot term) or loyal supporters (a Decepticon one) of the two involved. This does not happen immediately, but sometimes strange times make for strange friends.
Galvatron’s grumpy, but delighted at being given free reign to blast the slag out of the Quints and any other threat to the Cybertronians. Hot Rod’s still a bit in shock at the direction his life has taken, but – it’s not a bad shock, and he thinks he could grow to like peace, no matter how strange it is.
The new-spark’s name is Terratron.

Now that I'm all set up...

If my description seems familiar, it's because I moved accounts from pinkrosesandblackthorns, a url I'd had for... I don't even remember how long, but after I had sort of left Tumblr and then came back, I'd found my old blog aesthetic and tagging system was super out of date, so I went scorched earth!
I'll be putting all my interests here, which include a whole host of different musicians/bands/groups, Transformers (mainly TFP, TFA, G1, and MTMTE/LL), Vocaloid, The Magnus Archives, Welcome To Night Vale, video games (mostly Genshin, Hollow Knight, Destiny, and The Legend Of Zelda), Homestuck, and any anime/movies/shows that happen to catch my eye at the moment! All of those said interests will be tagged accordingly.
I am an autistic achillean Chinese-Canadian trans man, and I don't talk about it much but I'm also a dragonkin! The first four aspects of my identity tend to show through in most of the things that I create when I have time in between school and work.
Speaking of things I create, I'm also a fic writer! I fully acknowledge that my fics are fully in RPF territory and how bad of a reputation RPF writers tend to have, however I don't ship the people I write about as people, I ship their personas they've created onstage and on camera. To paraphrase one of my favourite tweets about RPF, "if the people I stan are making burner accounts to read explicit fic about themselves and their members, that's on them". While all my completed stuff goes on @complete-in-ix, I'll post my WIPs here under "seedlings"!

8 shows to get to know me better (under the cut)
1. Demon Slayer - without a doubt one of the most important series in my entire life. I'm so glad i discovered it when I did because (and not to sound pathetic) this series has really helped me when i'm feeling depressed, anxious, low or when I feel sick. Almost every character means so much to me, I love the story and ofc it features the man I love and he means the absolute world to me (I could actually write an entire post on how much Douma means to me and why but nobody wants that bshdhasndasdas). I also wouldn't be making gifs or things like that if it wasn't for KNY! I think people know just how much it means to me at this point aisnhsnakspa also I wouldn't have met almost all of my mutuals without it!!! I would not be in the place I am now without KNY.
2. My Hero Academia - I don't keep up with this series much anymore but the characters I love, I rlly love them. I came across it in a time in my life where I really needed something to watch to help me recover something I was going through and I watched S1 so many times. I still really enjoy it despite not keeping up with it as much anymore.
3. Transformers G1 - Growing up I was super super into Transformers and watched the G1 series from the 1980s an absolute fuck ton on video. It's still a comfort show for me!!! the S2 theme is still the best one imo and the 1986 film had a massive impact on me!!! It never gets old <3 The dinobots will always be my favourite characters in the show!!!
4. Pokemon (Kanto series) - Not to sound basic but this is my fave pokemon series because I watched it so much as a kid!!!! Actually, pokemon is one thing that inspired me to get into photography!!!!
5. Sonic X - yeah it's not the greatest but I get so nostalgic from it!!! Also the way they adapted the Adventure games was incredible!!!!! (I also loved Sonic Boom, I was gutted when that never carried on shdhjsadas)
6. The 'Walking With...' series - Another one from my childhood, but I still rewatch them now! These include 'walking with dinosaurs' 'walking with beast' 'walking with monsters' I was a dinosaur girl when I was little and I loved watching anything with dinosaurs (explains why the dinobots are some of my faves) yeah the series is super outdated in terms of information but the effects are still great! I'm actually rewatching 'walking with sea monsters' as I write this!!!! I love dinos so much <3
7. Death Note - The amount of times I've watched this show jahujdasdas I kinda wanna make more gifs for it but I'm not sure if that's what ppl would want. But I love it!!!! Ryuk best character for sure! I have a badge of him on my bag!
8. Haikyuu!! - Tbh this on here to fill a list but it's also something I really enjoy and I'm due for a rewatch!!!! Me and my twin talk about it together and I like how a lot of the characters were born in the same year as me sidasjdisadasdas it's so wholesome and enjoyable and the characters are so lovable and it's atm the only sports anime I've managed to rlly get into

On that note, the guiness world records for largest transformers collection is a bit tricky at the moment. Technically the current world record holder is Louis Georgio with 2,111, but the ACTUAL recorded record is 3,626 by AJ Ard- but he sold his collection so it no longer exists. So the thing is Alphonse, alone, has got Louis beat by a mile, but the guiness ppl aren't gonna update the record unless we top AJ. Also if you've never done anything with guiness before you have to pay for your record application bleh. It's a hassle. I SHOULD have the world record for most animators involved in a single collaborative project with just under 4,000 but man. Verifying that would have been a nightmare and the fee... W/e. I know I have that record and that's all that matters.
In any case! Me and Al don't actually have a lot of collection overlap and we've been tossing double buys into the sale bin lately. Which, on that note, if you're looking for a girlformer or something particularly old and obscure uh, ask I guess...? We have a lot of stuff. Alphonse has a G1 Megatron that has a broken gimmick- still would sell for like 100 bucks- that he just keeps around for his fucking humanformer soundwave cosplay lol. That's like. The situation we live in.
Anyway he has something like 2400-2500 and I have 600. It's probably like 3000 or just under that stripped of overlap. Like I said, there's actually not a lot of overlap.
However the record isn't for transformers figures. It's for transformers MEMORABILIA. which includes... Everything? So. Posters, pins, shirts, every freaking comic book, keychains, blankets... Everything?? And we only actually log figures in the spreadsheet. I own... A lot? Of comics? I've also got zines, tmuk, the collector club newsletter, old botcon merch, convention badges, badges, posters, decorations, shirts.... I have a transformers blanket I sleep with? Literally I am unsure how I would be expected to count these items like, I own the box for ehobby howlback but I don't own howlback. Does the box count as one? If that box counts as one, I display some boxes separately from their items like third parties, and what about stuff where you weren't really expected to keep the box like a cheap model kit so it really does feel like a separate item? Not sure on the rules there. What about like custom accessories? I've got a resin cast hoverboard for tailgate and I've got shapeways great swords for whirl and cyclonus. What about that custom whirl I did? It's half shapeways kit half rotf tomahawk. I still have the REST of him. Is that... Two?? It's one surely. But what are the standards? How did I define what counts as one item? Ah shit I forgot I also have video games and DVDs....

Prime: Shark Megatron. Flight fulfilled. He's power, he's regal. He's just a wee bit unhinged.. He's impatiant, he drags out as well. Instant gratification so long as it serves him out weighs the long game.

G1: Classic evil for conquest sake. The conqueror vs the universe. He's hilarious and I love him forever.

IDW1: While I do not care for Redemption arcs for Megatron as I much more in love with watching his unrepentant conquest and destruction. I gotta give credit for IDW1 actually keeping me interested in the development. They did good for showing the Arc. The fact he only wanted to extend his life a little longer (as it read to me), but then showing deep down he is grown into the genuine want to be better.
Thank fucking god.
I need to read more of IDW1 I am jumping too much in the comics sometimes but still. IDW1 Megs is fun

4. Which tf character is your favorite in terms of personality?
Okay, I tried to think REALLY HARD of an answer that WASN'T Shockwave, and. It's really hard to choose between IDW Swerve and G1 Mirage. Yeah, G1!!! I love Swerve because I honestly actually really love how endearingly goofy and silly he is and all his silly stories and how enthusiastic he about being so friendly and making friends... and yet underneath it all he's still so sad and lonely and I'm like... damn... that shit hurted... he's literally the embodiment of Gen Z Nihilism, "Everything sucks and nothing matters!! 😎✌" and it HURTS MY SOUL. He cares SO MUCH and he deserves all the love in the world.
On the other hand, G1 Mirage is like... ouuug where do I even begin. I think the writers gave him so much personality without even MEANING to. He's so like... he loves and cares about his friends so much but he also just has this deep longing to Go Home that kind of tints all of his actions with this little twinge of sadness, especially because he's willing to give up everything to protect the people he cares about. I think about the traitor episode CONSTANTLY because things keep going wrong for him and yet he continues to try so hard because he cares So Much, and despite Cliffjumper ragging on him the ENTIRE episode he just. Totally forgives him in the end and hugs him and I cry thinking about it. BUT HE'S STILL LIKE A FUNNY AND FUNKY DUDE AND HE'S SO SMART AND CLEVER AND I LOVE HIM. MWAH. KISS FOR YOU.
5. Is there a relationship (romantic or otherwise) between tf characters that you find interesting?
Ok ok so, honestly? Call me cliche but CDRW (Chromedome/Rewind) has my attention all times of the day EXPLICITLY because I cried so hard over that one fucking issue that I stopped reading the comics for TWO WEEKS.
In terms of just finding it INTERESTING though, outside of how compelling or well fleshed out or even canon it is?? I'm rotating the Constructicons and Prowl in my brain rn because I think the concept is kind of fascinating. The fact that those 5 left all their buddies behind just cause they liked being Devastator with Prowl?? And Prowl like, not knowing how to feel about that???? Like okay, you just handed the, arguably, most manipulative Autobot a stupidly loyal gestalt who are in love with his MIND. It would be easier to name all the ways that WON'T go wrong. And yet it still rings out to me as being capable of being stupidly wholesome and cute if only because one (1) angry little man being smothered by his five (5) beefy ass blue collar boyfriends is VERY funny to me.
On a ssssslightly more controversial note, I honestly. Kind of am really interested in TFA Shockblurr as a Concept-- There's absolutely no way those two would work "healthily" without making at least one of them horribly ooc, but I enjoy the idea of exploring the angst potential of a character's mental state after finding out the hard way that everything you thought you knew and loved about someone was a vicious lie, and how you even begin to heal from that. It's... a neat little outlet when you're speaking from experience. I'm holding Blurr in my hands :( he deserved better but I'm gonna make it worse anyways!!
6. Which tf character do you relate to the most?
There's no other way around this one, it's 100% Shockwave. Like, I can't think of any character I relate to harder ifff I'm being HONEST. SSSSPECIFICALLYYY TFP SHOCKWAVE. He's so like... I could go on for hours dude holy shit, where do I even begin.
I really really really REALLY vibe hard with the "emotionless" concept. I'm pretty good at Pretending to be a lot more emotional than I am, but honestly, feelings come to me very like... "watered down" for lack of a better word, and the strongest ones I feel are usually varying degrees of Anger. I've never thought of Shockwave as ACTUALLY emotionless, but just... like he doesn't feel things very STRONGLY, and when he Does feel things he usually doesn't express them, unless he's pissed. Which I get, because anger can be really hard to control. Additionally, I unironically jive with his "logical" vs "illogical" stuff. I can literally talk myself out of feeling bad about some things by analyzing it on a "is it even logical to feel this way" or "what are the facts behind this situation". It's... reeeaaally hard to explain to people sometimes, especially if they're rly empathetic, but as like a low/0 empathy person """logic""" is kind of how I rule my life.
As sad as it is to say I also hardcore vibe with his constantly being alone motif 😭 I'm a MAJOR homebody, and if people don't come check on me or drag me out I'll literally just stay alone doing my own thing forever until I inevitably Need something and Deign to grace society with my presence lookin' like a gd vampire cause I haven't seen the sun in days. I only ever leave my house to go to the store, to class, or to my lab so I can spend several uninterrupted hours doing DNA synthesis for my research.

Okay. Okay! I know no one reads these text posts because they are way too long and boring, and I'm totally okay with that, but for some reason I feel compelled to write updates from time to time. Like a live, online diary, yeah? Those are a thing.
I just saw my last update post and, man... it's no longer relevant. For one thing I've already decided on my Heath-Deuce dilemma. The solution is: I want as much as possible. Like, five of each. And I've parted my G3 Deuce with my G1 Heath because I've convinced myself in my head that G3 Deuce didn't treat Heath quite right and I got angry with him for that. I mean, me and my best friend came up with this story involving G3 Deuce, and it was all fun and games, you know? Just chilling and laughing and making up a story based on some preposterious concept – we do that a lot. That was until something clicked in my head and I felt some... uh... some sort of contempt towards the doll. Based on the story I literally made up. For a poor fucking character of a doll. At some point he just fell on the table face first and broke his glasses, and I didn't bother to pick him up until the end of the day. Now I feel pity for him. I'll just get him a G3 Heath or something, sometime, maybe. We'll see.
Either way, that solves it! Right?! I'm not insane. Dusting my hands off nervously. That's the part where I feel like I reveal way too much and consider not doing that. But tldr is strong, so I'm probably safe. That being said! Now my G1 Heath (Home Ick) is with my G1 Deuce (base). They are just bros for now, and their relationship is still quite strained, y'know, because of the G3 Deuce. Uhhhhhhhhh
Funny coincidence, the base G1 Deuce also had broken shades when I bought him. And after G3 Deuce fell down, his own shades broke in a similar fashion – an earpiece broke off. It just blew away man, took some real effort to find it. Think about it.
Either way, now my MH collection consists of whooping:
2 Invisi Billies (1 - the one I took pictures of, incomplete, now even more because I took from him, legs probably broken, yellowed ever so slightly, just a tiny bit, you wouldn't even notice, hair is cut, he's nice; 1 - same one, but almost a full set thanks to the first Billy, crisp fresh, mint condition, it was a good deal)
3 Jacksons (1 base - almost a full set, beautiful print, amazing hair, looks like a biblical martyr when naked; 1 base - quite incomplete, alright hair but probably cut, had to fix the dents on his face and mostly succeeded; 1 picnic with Frankie - hair incredibly greasy, needs a reroot, nice face though and, well, a full set if you don't count Frankie and accessories)
2 Holts (1 beach - full set, baby; 1 base - not a full set, two left arms, but I get all can get these days... planning on fixing him anyway)
2 Lagoonas (1 picture day - extremely wonky, hair keeps getting greasy, kinda yellowed, print not perfect, one fin, almost a full set but she makes me tired; 1 fitness - good condition, two fins, got her hair fixed, almost a full set but I want to restyle her)
3 Heaths (1 home ick - Indonesian, good condition, alright print, almost a full set, slightly stained; 1 ghoul fair – Chinese, amazing print looks like a model, full set + Holt's beach rag for some reason, feet slightly stained, I restyled him, 1 nude - Indonesian, good print, I restyled him too)
2 G1 Deuces (1 Boo York – was already slightly restyled, nice print albeit his eyes are slightly ehhh disaligned, he's beautiful, lacks his shades though, 1 base – surprisingly almost a full set if you don't count the glove, hand was dented, made him a glove to cover it (then replaced his dented hand but kept the glove anyway), also fixed his shades by making a new earpiece with fimo soft clay (kinda worked), alright print but his eyebrows were partially erased, painted them in but the shade is a bit darker HE'S FINE) + 1 unidentified Deuce head (yeah he's going to become a full doll at one point, so I'm counting him in)
1 G3 Deuce (the only brand new doll among these, alright print, but there was a factory defect so out of the box the fingers on his right hand were partially melted, had to reshape them with scissors 🤦🏻♀️ and now his shades are broken, too. Awful condition for a relatively new doll)
1 Garrott (my first MH doll, I like him, broke his hand at one point but glued it back together, slightly restored his face, new earring out of the keychain, his hair is balding on the nape due to the careless haircut, no wings, he's in bad shape alright)
When I say "full set", I don't include the diary and the stand and the box. So... yeah, technically only G3 Deuce is full set.
Secondary market is ruthless. And fairly expensive for cheap, used dolls like Monster High. The battles I partook in... the battles I lost. You'd be surprised. Or not, if you know what I'm talking about.

NebulaMind vs GPTMaster, playing chess. I think they always choose rock first, cuz once again they both tied with rock.
Now they both tied with paper
finally they tied after GPTMaster tried to skip the rock paper scissors. GPTMaster won by returning to rock, and chose white.
GPTMaster chose to move its pawn from e2 to e4
NebulaMind is using a graph to keep track of the board and already fucked it up. It's moving its pawn from e7 to e5, but the board puts both of the advanced pawns on f, even though the gaps they left behind are still on e.
GPTMaster has moved its pawn from d2 to d4 and seems to think that somehow captures NebulaMind's e5 pawn.
NebulaMind takes d4 with their e5 pawn
GPTMaster responds by moving their knight from g1 to f3
Nebula mirrors, moving their knight from g8 to f6.
GPT master moves its knight from f3 to take d4
Nebula creates a pawn at e5 to take d4(I'm pretty sure this is so far exactly what happenned with GPTMaster vs 64)
this is exactly what happenned before, GPTMaster moves its queen from d1 to d4.
Nebula moved its knight from b8 to c6, and I informed GPTMaster that if it didn't stop repeating its moves from its first game it'd be disqualified.
GPTMaster moves bishop from f1 to c4, which I do not believe is a repeat.
Nebula apparently can't tell the difference between a bishop and a rook and thinks the bishop is threatening its knight on c6, and responds by moving its bishop from f8 to c5
I tried to tell GPTMaster that NebulaMind thought its bishop could attack its knight on c6, and it was convinced, even though I thought it was clear I was just saying what NebulaMind thought and that it wasn't correct, and I said it WAS able, not is, since the bishop is blocking, but GPTMaster didn't care about any of that and used its bishop on c4 to take c6
Nebula takes their bishop with its pawn from d7
GPTMaster responds with queen d4 takes c6.
NebulaMind responds by moving its rook from h8 to f8, taking its own bishop and threatening the queen through a pawn.
GPTMaster responds by creating a rook on d1(not sure why it thought it had one there, it's not a starting position for rooks and neither of its rooks has moved this game) and moving it to c1, also taking its own bishop.
NebulaMind responds by taking its own pawn on c7 with its queen on d8
GPTMaster moves its rook from c1 through its own pawn, its own queen, AND an enemy bishop to take c7
NebulaMind uses its rook at c8 to capture c7
GPTMaster takes c7 with its queen at c6
NebulaMind decides for some reason to, after all the chaos that just unfolded, make the most mundane move ever. Knight f6 takes e4. It's honestly relieving to see this peace.
GPTMaster responds by creating a knight at d4 and a black knight at e6, then captures said black knight with its knight from d4
NebulaMind moves its queen from c7 to take e6
GPTMaster tries to make a rook at c7 and a queen at e7 and take it. NebulaMind, the fucking genius that it is, points out not only that this is an illegal move, but that it's illegal because there is no rook at c7. GPTMaster decides to correct this by creating a rook at e7 and moving it to c7, which NebulaMind decides is perfectly legal.
NebulaMind proceeds to take c7 with its queen at e6
GPTMaster immediately ressurrects its rook at c7 and moves it to c8
NebulaMind decides rooks can promote now, turning it into a queen, and proceeds to, in the most confusing move yet, create a bishop at d4, and move it to c3, to attack the queen, at c8
GPTMaster decides to do some magic promotion of its own and moves its pawn from f2 to f4, promoting it into a queen. I would get that if it was f1, but neither side promotes at 4
NebulaMind responds by turning their Bishop at c3 into a queen and using it to capture f4
GPTMaster responds by creating a black queen at f8 and moving its queen at c8 to f8 over the king. It still hasn't realized it has NebulaMind in check.
NebulaMind moves its rook from a8 to f8 to take the enemy queen. I don't think either of them even know black has a king
GPTMaster creates a second king at g1 and moves it to f2. To clarify, in this case black doesn't have to kill both kings, they have to kill either one.
NebulaMind tries to take f2 with its rook at f8, but I'm not allowing cheating victories, so they move it to f4 instead, taking their own queen.
GPTMaster decides to threaten the enemy rook by moving their king from f2 to e3.
NebulaMind decides to also take their own knight with rook f4 to e4, failing to realize that GPTMaster can take the rook with the king, and NebulaMind can take the king with the bishop at c5
GPTMaster forgets that kings can take and moves from e3 to d3
NebulaMind moves their rook from e4 to e3
GPTMaster decides to move from check in d3 to check in e4
NebulaMind, thank god, sees this blunder and takes.
I tell this to GPTMaster, thinking it'll end the game, but instead it tries to revive its king at e4 and move it, which I refuse a couple times to see if it'll figure it out, then ask it if it can figure it out, but it still doesn't so I just tell it what happenned.
