problems with rick riordans writing part one:

racial stereotypes with every single character of color: i.e Piper and rick's complete disrespect for Native culture, Leo randomly saying things like "mamacita", etc. Theres so much more that im not going into here. read posts by fans of color to get more detail.

ricks utter lack of knowlege of Muslim practices when creating Sam, as well as putting a lot of islamophobic stereotypes into her character: i.e arranged marriage with her second cousin (into which she was engaged at the age of 12), not bathing during Ramadan (thats not even fucking accurate), etc.

having uncomfortable or inappropriate depictions of children. ie Pipers sexualization as a Native child when she is claimed, Hazel as a Black 13 year old girl in a relationship with a 16 year old. also having Leo, a 16 year old kid, in a relationship with a 3000? year old woman, but she looks like a 16 year old so its totally fine /s

having LGBT characters experience abuse and violence. nicos forceful outing rubs me the wrong way, especially because hes called a coward for being in the closet. its violent and kind of disturbing to make your gay character come out of the closet by force. maybe write better. additionally, alex's abusive father and subsequent homelessness because of her being trans is badly written.

the fact that he inserts history into his books badly. he makes nazis be the children of Hades which is so. so fucked up. those arent your fantasy characters, they were real evil people who genocided millions of people. i think its kind of weird to insert real world things like the Holocaust into an originally escapist fantasy series.

rick has a complete misunderstanding of all the mythology that he writes about. a few examples of this include: saying artemis wasnt accepting of wlw relationships in the Hunt, despite artemis having both sapphic and asexual/aro interpretations in the mythos, making gaea evil, making ares abusive, making loki evil despite him being a morally grey trickster originally, making Aphrodite and Freya basically ditzy characters. etc

AHHHHHHHHHH THIS IS GOING TO GET SOOOO LONG!!!! i have a different view of the indo fam as a whole. i call them the indo fam but i mean the found family trope!!!! theyre like a group of college students sharing a dorm if that makes sense, since their servant selves are obviously different from their initial myths/human vessels!!!

OK SO. RECENTLY, i have an oomf that found books about arjuna that summarize his exploits in the mahabharata(I DONT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO READ IT ALL IM SO SORRY) and also talk about him in a more philosphical manner such as his states of mind during each event etc and i’ve been meaning to read said book because im genuinely interested in arjuna now!!! and i’d like to know more about this indo prince because from what i’ve seen, he is portrayed in a rather bad light(?) in FGO which i find extremely !!!!!!!!!!! and incrdibley !!!!!!! strange !!!!!!! the mahabharata’s conflicts can be put in a mostly grey area where there’s no good nor bad, its not black and white. so seeing arjuna get bashed because of the way his conflict with karna was written is... hm. let’s say that im REALLY starting to understand arjuna fans that dislike seeing him get mischaracterized so much. OTHER THAN THAT, his design is adorable, his travel outfit is my favourite because he deserves to relax and have some fun!!! fgo making him a chuuni is cute and his VAs little moans are cute cute cute!!!!!!!!!!! (mash grabs my shoulder and forces me to sit down) i think that arjuna deserves better and im really happy to see him have fun in his travel costume voicelines. i think we should take arjun on a date!!! he’s a great lover, we’d have the best time!! ANEWAYS i also have quite the thoughts about karna, his characterization in the game is linked to arjuna’s and thats fine but i think that forgetting how much of a little sassy bastard he can get was a mistake! did you know that in apocrypha’s german dub on netflix, when jeanne calls his name like “You’re Karna, aren’t you ? The son of the Indian Sun God !” HES LIKE “So ?” AND THAT WAS SOOOO BITCHY OF HIM, i think that karna is a good boy in fgo but the fact that he was such a fighty old man in the mahabharata shouldnt be forgotten and is a charm trait. I MEAN ???? HE THREW HANDS WITH AN 18 YEAR OLD(ARJUN) WHILE BEIN LIKE... THIRTY TWO. WHATS WITH THIS ANNOYING OLD MAN !!!!! knowing these little facts about him made me like him so much more actually !! i think karna being so nice is adorable!! but the little bitchy energy u can find in his voicelines is also very charming!! i think karna looking at me emotionless as i ask him to lend me his notes for the nth time that week and then saying “...Mn.” when i thank him is cute!!! his voiceline towards things he dislikes is interesting to me. karna seeming aloof and mean bc he doesnt know how to communicate but is actually nice underneath...... hey... thats a little delinquentcore........ i wouldnt say yankii but hes like... hes like... u know hes the handsome quiet one of the group of yankiis... u know the one...? hey where are you going

ganesha is also a character im deeply interested in but i havent played CCC so i dont know that many details about jinako herself !! my brain goes HMMMMMM it seems lord ganesha is trans in fgo ! (since kama used to be a male god originally as well!!) ganesha uses all pronouns!!! and ganesha is also special to me because they share similar traits with kama when it comes to their characterization AND mischaracterizations. ganesha isnt JUST jinako. theres a part of a god in the servant mix!!! and jinako HERSELF is actually a pretty sad character imo. the whole otaku/neet thing is obviously a facade and her true wish being that she wants to redo her whole life is also proof of how much she hates what shes become, yet at the same time, she doesnt know what else she could do. but anyways, i prefer looking at servants from a lore POV so i think that ganesha should still be considered a god and be adressed as such!! i like seeing people portray ganesha as jinako but i prefer it when a certain lavish more godly side of them is put forward. a side of jinako that managed to move on a little bit if that makes sense ? that got more serious. and became someone else entierly despite sharing similarities. needless to say their bond with karna makes me happy since he shows them respect as you should towards a god!! its a bit different from their bond in CCC... like they matured somewhat!! anyway ganesha is the one who taught everyone else in the indo fam about video games and technology and i will NEVER shut up.

(... would sita count.) and lakshi being a jeanneface is a waste. well, she’s still very pretty and her lore is also quite interesting!! i havent looked into it fully yet but i think she should be kissed on the mouth. her bad luck makes me slip on a banana peel whenevr i get close to her to kiss her and i hit my head on the pavement and pass away- 

parvati is on a tough spot for me atm. i genuinely love thinking of her as the way the indian goddess herself is portrayed because thats where the fun lies for me in her character. especially when shes involved with other indian servants, thats a given!! i would like to see parvati grow, suffer and heal. because branding her as an “all-knowing mom” is easy, but every single parent makes mistakes if you follow that logic. also, since shes the sakura servant “thats closest to her initial personality”, she’s got some of the most Repulsive fans ive Ever witnessed in fandom spaces and lets say that im trying to work my way out of this hellhole and find things to like about parvati without the fandom’s influence. needless to say, im going to keep looking into her mythos and her lore by myself at my own pace and keep doing my own thing in my little corner. 

rama shouldve been a jock. THE RAMAYANA IS OLDER THAN THE MAHABHARATA, WHY IS.....Hrm well him being summoned as his baby version gives me hope for a future rama alt perhaps??? but i think that he shouldve been a total jock and he shouldve been huge with a huge red lion-like mane for his hair and a teethy grin and big biceps and intense love for his wife. Drarry idea?

i wrote this in my notes app ages ago (around july 2020?), and just came across it again and thought that i would post it here to see if it is something that others find plausable and interesting for a fic to be made about.

so obviously it starts with the idea that draco had a crush on harry during his time at hogwarts. but it is not that simple.

to accept this idea, you have to also sort of accept the idea that lucius malfoy was not a good father. he was not supportive. examples of lucius showing how bad he is at being a father include

his reaction to draco falling off his broom in his first quiddich game (was he embarrassed? ashamed?)

how he treated draco in borgin and burkes (obviously you dont want him messing with the stuff because some of it is likely dangerous, but you dont need to go swinging that cane/wand around like that to prove your point)

the way he tried to force draco to identify harry in the malfoy manor (narcissa basically had to tell him to calm down because be was trying to force draco to identify harry so that lucius could make up his failures)

the fact that he was willing to try kill harry when he was only 12 years old???? and when dumbledore was only in the other room??

theres likely more instances that i havent even mentioned, but this is just to maybe help justify dracos actions towards harry over the 7 books. i believe that these examples, which for some arent even in private, show that at home lucius was likely not any better. maybe whenever he got angry or did anything to upset draco, narcissa would come into his room afterwards at night to comfort him, and say “your father loves you very much draco, he is just a busy and stressed out man” or something along those lines/

draco would become so used to hearing that his father loves him despite what his actions might suggest, that internally he would somewhat begin associating this behaviour as a behaviour that was done with love

and then we get him with harry

and maybe hes in denial at the beginning, or maybe hes just oblivious, and he just thinks that he wanra ro pick on harry because harry rejected his friendship. but in reality hes trying to express his emotions in a way that he is used to ‘witnessing’. harry doesnt see him as a friend, so hes gotta do the next best thing which is bully him in the same way that his father bullies him, because hes subconsciously created this idea that it is acceptable to treat the people you care about this way. 

there could even be instances where draco actually tried to act in a more affectionate way, but we wouldnt really know much about this because harry was so oblivious about half the stuff going on around him.

if anyone would actually read this as a fic, let me know, and let me know whether its something you would rather read within 5-20k word range, or 50-100k range or whatever like that. i wanna do something that people would actually read, and getting feedback will help me to motivate myself to actually write this

some other ideas that i would input into a fic include

one of the first things dobby says to harry is that it is an honour to meet him, but being a malfoy elf makes that hard to believe, unless hes overheard stories from draco 👀

in the chamber of secrets movie, draco is seen ripping a page out of a book at the beginning, and i like to believe that that is the page that hermione used to learn about the basilisk, so thank you draco

and the following is two different ways i can go towards the end, being stick to canon with

in the bathroom, when draco was going to cast crucio, it would not have worked because you have to actually mean it - he did not mean it

the reason narcissa asks harry about draco in the forest is because she has spent the last 7 years listening to draco talk about harry, whether that be in a complaining or affectionat way, she knows that harry will know whether draco is ok. a mother just knows

drarry begins to develop after the final battle

or i can diverge from canon around 6th year? harry knows something is up, and somehow rather than casting sectumsempra, ends up helping out draco and drarry begins to develop during this time.

when draco hears about his task and that the plan is to kill harry, he becomes uneasy about everything, but his father is still 100% believing in voldemort despite everything. draco begins questioning all of his family beliefs and values, because if his father has faith in the dark lord when he doesnt, then what other values should he reevaluate?

okay i feel like my movie taste really does come down to what did i see in theaters that made me define my personality around them for the rest of the week, and i usually have Allergic to Watching Old Movies Disease so most of these are p recent! my movie taste is Also defined by what i saw enough on tumblr that eventually i broke down and watched it and it was actually amazing lol

✨favorite horror movies✨

Jennifer’s Body: THEE movie of all time, it literally has anything i could ever want in a movie: excessively campy dialogue, a plot around making a deal with the devil, a town that’s slightly fucked up, extended metaphors about gender violence but in a palatable PG-13 non-graphic format, Megan Fox going feral and eating boys, a homoerotic friendship where they also kinda hate each other but its mostly bc neither of them can deal with their feelings in the world they were brought up in, and a soundtrack that slaps. Seriously i could probably quote this movie word for word at this point, and like technically its horror but its also really funny and theres not really any jumpscares or anything. Im gonna stop talking about this one bc if i keep going i could write a whole essay but its so good (also i wont elaborate but Jennifers Body and Heathers are sisters, spiritually)

Us: hhhhhhhh this is so good, ik Jordan Peele’s only directed two movies so far but he never misses, like this was genuinely terrifying for me but also raises a lot of Questions and made me think about the implications of it for weeks afterward. It’s about this family vacationing in Santa Cruz, CA at the same time that there’s this planned uprising of doppelgängers all around the US (i cant remember if its the world or just the US? But it makes a lot of commentary about the US in particular so im guessing its just the US). I’ve still only seen it once but the aesthetics are so good, its definitely more on the violent side than Get Out was, but its not too bad (like idk if you’ve seen Midsommar but like. its nowhere near as gory as that lol). I swear i didnt have a fear of doppelgängers before this but between this and tma i sure do now

It (chapter 1): this one is so close to my heart omg 🥺 i associate it super strongly with watching it with friends so thats at least half the reason its a favorite. Also i love horror-comedies so much as a genre, mostly bc i scare easily so its nice to have jokes in between to break the tension and this movie’s hilarious

Cabin in the Woods: i cant say what this one’s about without spoiling it but i’ll say it definitely goes under the same category as It for me, in terms of horror-comedy. Its such a fun deconstruction of horror movie tropes and it gets so insane at the end, like when you watch it you can *tell* it was made in 2011 but like in a good way

Also honorable mention to The Love Witch for sending me into a spiral about what truly is the female gaze/if there can be one definition of that/the relationship between love and violence etc etc basically it’s Extremely Gender. Also not v bloody and doesnt have any jumpscares, and its an aesthetic masterpiece omg

✨favorite comfort movies/romcoms✨

Juno: i dont normally have favorite actors but Elliot Page is my emotional support favorite actor, like idk how to explain it but all of his characters just scream comfort character somehow. Juno has the same screenwriter as Jennifer’s Body so it has a really similar sense of humor, but altogether v wholesome plot about a pregnant teenager and her bff, michael cera. Also highly quotable, and i dont think ive ever watched this without crying, like this is one of those movies where im like love is real actually 🥺💕

Easy A: this movieee!!! Oh my god this movie, its so intensely californian and thats def part of why i like it. Also realizing now a major factor in movies i like is how quotable they are bc this is another one i feel like i quote all the time. Plus theres something so fun about baby Emma Stone living her 80s movie protagonist dream AND doing the “you think i’m a villain? I’ll show you a villain!” trope bc thats always fun

All of twilight but especially the first one: i mean idk what to say, i got brainworms when i was 11 and made twilight my whole personality for like 3 years, then grew out of it, then the twilight renaissance happened and im Back on My Bullshit 😂 i also just like having a purpose for me memorizing everything possible about twilight in middle school so like.... if you ever want any fun twilight facts hit me up (this goes to AR but if you’re not AR and reading this too this also applies lmao im down to talk about twilight any time)

And honorable mention to Scott Pilgrim (okay not a romcom but def a comfort movie), to be fair i havent seen this one all the way through in a looong time but i go back to the most iconic parts a lot

i feel like i tend not to like movies that feel like they’re trying too hard? Like if i watch something and *instantly* know its trying to be Oscar bait, or if its trying to be camp but like,,., pretentious high end camp. Like anything by Wes Anderson is a hard nope for me, also i saw Gravity in theatres on a whim whenever that came out and it just didnt click for me at all. (Also okay The Love Witch kiiiind of checks the boxes for this but its still a fave)

Also okay this movie isnt any of those things but i still dont like it: It Chapter 2! I feel so bad cause It chapter 1 was so good and created this huge hype for the sequel for me, but the plot just went off the fucking rails. Sure we got bill hader being in love with his childhood best friend which spawned the whole Reddie craze on here for awhile..... but that came at the price of naked old ladies being used for shock value and whatever the hell was going on with Pennywise being an alien/god/something??? Like if the book is like this i know i couldn’t get through it, i was laughing my way through the whole movie but like, laughing (derogatory)

I feel like this section just became a reason to dunk on It Ch 2 but honestly the only other sequel i can think of that betrayed me like that was Endgame 😂

Also unrelated but while im still on the topic of movies i dont like/my hot takes: 10 Things I Hate About You was too sexist for me enjoy, i see it hyped on here a lot and im like ??? yall that did not age well 😭 but tbf i still like Mean Girls so we all have our things 😂

ok so like this isn’t gonna be about my headcannons because those are for another time this is... jklgjlk it’s complainy mostly and long so. sorry mobile users

SO in the original movie (or at least like. in the concepts, novelization, etc) the use of he/him for the skeksis and urru is meant as neutral, not masculine - here’s a quote from the novelization featuring a 1000 trine old lizard who did not once try and figure out gender in all that time

"urSu had never been helpful in the matter when Jen had put questions to him. All he had answered was that the urRu had evolved as a species of neither gender, and that it was therefore a subject of which he had no concept."

it both uses ‘he’ for the urRu and specifies that they don’t have a concept of gender. theres some of the equating gender & sex stuff but like, i think it still stands pretty solidly. & the urRu not really doing gender (at least gelfling gender) implies neither do the skeksis (i believe they were described as having “the worst aspects of both” in some interview which like. that’s a whole other bucket of worms but y’know)

however with the introduction of skekSa/urSan, who use she/her the neutrality is messed up (i love these dinosaur lesbians with my whole entire heart to be clear). like. ok we all know pronouns ≠ gender, etc, but i think its fairly safe to say that the intention is that they are somewhere in the woman zone, and again like. this isn’t necessarily true but it does kind of put the implication that the other skeksis & urRu (gonna get to skekLach and skekEkt in a sec) are male which is like. Hmm

and THEN... we get the show versions of skekLach & skekEkt. i’m gonna use ‘they’ for them here. i will say i havent read the age of resistance art book thing yet but a friend who has has mentioned both being referred to with she/her and there are a couple of reasons this rubs me the wrong way

skekEkt being the most stereotypically ‘feminine’ skeksis & being the only of the original 9 to be voiced by a woman in the show and having their pronouns changed is.... hm. like ya couldve chosen anyone. ya couldve done an even number. but you did this

that’s still 3 out of 18, or 3 out of 16 if you ignore the ones that died immediately... 

this is kinda minor, and i DO love show skekLach and how generally gross they are, but the fact that you go from Big Fighty in the books to Tiny Nerd in the show, and switch the pronouns, is.... also hm. i swear if they make skekSa anything besides Beefy As All Hell i am gonna throw a fit

i WILL note that as far as i can remember neither has actually been referred to in the show as such, i think theyve always just been mentioned by name. & iirc the quotes using these pronouns are from the voice actors. all the same it still bothers me. 

i don’t really know where i’d go with this in terms of like. solutions. i guess refer to them however you want... idk. i’m not sure if i wanna keep using he for skekEkt (& urUtt) or not, or what to use for skekLach since the book and show versions are basically differnet characters... idk there is something distinctly uncomfortable to me about using she for skekEkt particularly though.

i read an awful academic article disparaging pj today and thought of u-this person criticized pj for having percy hate school while ostensibly being a book that /teaches/ kids abt classics, without picking up on the fact that percy has a learning disability so that kids with ld's can see themselves as heroes, not cause school sucks. anyway im doing a classics degree and i keep having Percy Jackson Was Right moments. nothing wrong with getting kids into classics through fun books w. silly jokes!

you can say stuff abt riordans writing style - theres stuff to raise an eyebrow at (particularly in later books cough cough) like how its choppier and faster based than post books of the same genre. i can agree with that, but ill argue back that the writing style helps ppl w adhd (and i assume dyslexia) like me and his son read it easier. and there are aspects of it that havent aged well at all (use of r slur is som (of course, percy is very clearly on the side opposed to calling tyson this), the treatment of rachel by annabeth, the weird age gap luke/annabeth thing) but.. ugh

📃 - OK SO. without like, spoiling too many plot points, our main character is cara and she lives with her grandmother. her mom is dead and dad is out of the picture. one day theyre getting chased by these people that her grandma knows and cara gets thrown into an alternate realm full of fantasy creatures using her grandmothers amulet. she meets a unicorn named lightfoot and a bunch of other rad people and basically, starts a journey to save that world from the Hunters. the Hunters are an organisation who specifically hate unicorns and want them all dead, led by Beloved, and cara and her friends have to try and stop them from entering the world and wiping them out. its sooo so so good and i highly recommend it cause i have no one to talk to about it please god

unicorn chronicles: i loved unicorns as a kid and read it when i was in elementary school, and over the years its remained just as compelling and well written as i remember and like. god the whole concept is so godamn cool and all the subplots that get introduced are fuckign fantastic and like all the different creatures are amazing i literally cant sing its praises enough

howls moving castle: must i have a logical reason? is it not to vicariously live my fantasy of running away to the countryside with a wizard boyfriend, his demon and his apprentice?? for real though, its such a fantastic story with beautiful visuals in the movie and wonderfully compelling prose in the book, and esp in the movie the whole time travel subplot with sophie seeing howl and calcifer in the past and then howl finding her in the future makes me go feral

penumbra: gays in space. need i say more? im a huge slut for gay found family and especially in futuristic space, and im a huge big fan of the lgbt utopia its created. like yeah capitalism sucks but at least im not gonne get misgendered in space starbucks, u kno? all the writing and dialogue is so incredible and the SOUND DESIGN GOD, alex i know u specifically can relate when i say i would kill a man for sophie and her incredible sound design skills, like dude the dance scene in man in glass p2 you can hear every single individual step they take and every swish of junos dress and i jusT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! god its so good, plus the whole the characters help me work through my trauma and repressed anger haha

911: this one is entirely your fault. so obligatory horny on main everyone on that show is so hot i want oliver stark to cradle me gently in his beefy arms oh my god. other than Men, the way it drives home the whole ‘you can’t save everyone, and it will kill you to try, so just focus on what you can do and keep living’ makes me so emo. the way it tackles big bureaucratic issues as well as closer to home interpersonal ones is amazing and i love how it shows people going through and dealing realistically with trauma.

treasure planet: again, who doesnt want to live in Cool Steampunk Space Travel Future? i really really love jims story and his arc, the way he deals with his trauma is uhh very familiar lol and his relationship with silver is like the ideal. the story is just the coolest concept and i love all the wonderful character design and animation, plus the soundtrack SLAPS and everything is beautiful

legend of zelda: ive been associated with this series from a very young age due to my name and as soon as i gave into my fate and looked it up for real i just kinda fell into it lol. i cant really tell you exactly what draws me to it besides ‘wow fun game!’ and ‘god i wish that were me,’ but like the absurd amount of detail thats put into each installment and the creative ways they retell essentially the same/similar story over and over is incredible

guardians of gahoole: so i had the same experience with this and treasure planet which is i remembered ‘oh hey this is a movie that exists and i cant clearly remember watching it, ill look it up :)’ and then it consumed my life for a solid 3 months. firstly this movie is absolutely gorgeous, the animation and framing is fucking stunning and the way they handled owls talking like people as far as the movement of their very inflexible beaks was amazing. it sort of has the same draw for me as warrior cats? secret animal society ft incredibly traumatic experiences and the characters dealing with it. like, the whole concept is just so fuckign wild and it works so well, i rly enjoy this niche genre.

💎 - alright trivia time, so guardians of gahoole is based on a book series and the movie only covers part of the first arc i think idk, BUT theres another series set in the same universe called wolves of the beyond that i devoured when i was younger! i didnt know they were connected for the longest time and when i found out i was :000, i still rly love wolves of the beyond and wanna reread it, as well as read the actual gahoole books. in the howls books, sophie is a redhead! also, markl is named michael and like a fully functioning young adult who ends up marrying one of sophies sisters. treasure planet is, obviously, based off treasure island but its so much better than the book dont bother reading it lol i tried and it was boring. there was plans for a treasure planet sequel that was fully scripted and cast but it was cancelled cause disney sabotaged treasure planet from the start with the shitty release and advertising and tldr we were ROBBED, also amelias concept was much more octopus like and while that wldve been rad im p glad she was switched to a cat for. several reasons lol. uhh i dont have a lot of Fun Facts abt the unicorn chronicles but for the longest time i thought there were only 3 books and then last year i found the fourth book by chance in a kitsch store and nearly had a breakdown i was so happy, like full on i started shaking and crying cause there was so much joy in my body i cldnt contain it.

im hesitantly curious about psychonauts 2 and the last of us 2. psychonauts was a game i played and love when i was younger, but doublefine’s last few years have been.... troubled, and im interesting to see if it pulls off (and honestly improves upon) the original. and while i was never super into TLOU... like... its still TLOU, it was a cultural touchstone of its generation. sooo

i wish i could say im excited for sword and shield, but i’m not

hmmm i wish i could list some indie games but i usually find those like years after the fact

oh, red candle finally released a statement, so... im excited if they ever decide to re-release devotion (which they don’t plan to anytime soon), but also whatever they do next. i fully believe theyre making some of the best horror games rn, if not the best games of the generation overall

i havent talked about my new interest of affection. i am writing this now because even if things are way waaaay far from being normal, i just wanted to reminisce the good old days while im still not feeling bitter about it. i am not into mushy stuff and sappy things but here goes. he probably would never even get to read this so lol. 

i was totally fine with being alone. i had a bad case of a heartbreak earlier this year and i was confident with being alone. i’ve learned it the hard way; not seeking for others company to feel secured. but then this soul came out of the blue. it wasnt like at first sight. errrr or should i say that it wasnt like at first virtual conversation. nor the second. or the third. it started out as something purely virtual, yes. we just talked and talked and talked. gradually, though not slowly, i became comfortable with this soul. i am the type of person who feels lowkey anxious with phone calls yet this soul made it so easy for me to talk to him on the phone from 10pm til dawn. it lasted for a few days. then for a week. then for two weeks. slowly, without realizing, it kinda grew into me. he grew into me. 

he was far from my ideal. oh god, he was barely my ideal. hes apathetic, hes not into chivalry, he has a lot of pet peeves, hes detached, he keeps on maintaining this cool headed doesn’t give a damn type of facade, hes too honest, and hes annoying. he had these ear piercings, one he pierced on his own. he smokes more than five times a day. he usually isn’t sober. but then theres this side of him who’s into literature so much, who gets lost in his surroundings the moment he gets so immersed reading a book, who writes his heart out, who writes poetry, who believes in passion (he wouldnt agree on this but i can see it), who loves films and music as much as i do, who loves memes ranging from dank to dark. he was a mix of both good and bad. he was the perfect balance of good and bad. 

this soul made me become more in sync with myself. he taught me the art of saying no. he taught me to say whats on my mind despite the fact that i may hurt other peoples feelings. he taught me not to be too much of a pushover. i guess i may be romanticizing it too much. but thats how i felt. he made me happy. i felt like i was a teenager in her coming of age years all set up for a free fall. i felt butterflies on my stomach. and he said he did too. its crazy. its overwhelming how you can give and receive the same amount of affection from a person. i wasnt asking for him but the universe let us cross paths even for a little while. it mustve meant something. sometimes i wonder why we had to click and vibe easily only for the connection to be taken away from us on such a short notice. if he was given to me only to be a lesson then alright. i guess i have to swallow the fucking pill. i just done get it sometimes. i havent felt this connection throughout my experience. im not even exaggerating it. i havent found someone i can truly be comfortable with. why did it have to end so soon. whyyyy

people say that ill find someone new. that hes not the last person ill feel this connection with. im forced to end it because my parents told me so. it sucks. both of us are so happy yet we had to let go because of all these external forces coming right at us. honestly, im a coward. i cant go through the process of letting go and moving on yet again. i dont know how ill be able to cope this time knowing that this soul grew into me unlike nobody else before. so if the heartbreaks ive went through already hurt so bad, i dont know how this one would. im also scared when the time comes, if the time comes, that ill find a new love, i may end up comparing the rush to this one. no one will make me feel the way he did. 

its crazy. my parents said they will never accept this guy. how could so much love for me hinder me from being genuinely happy? i know this is me being selfish. ive tried the best i can to be the ideal daughter for my parents. i mess up one time and now im not allowed to do anything except to drop the guy. im starting to lose hope that there will ever be any slightest bit of chance for compromise. harsh words have been said already. heavy heavy words have cause hurt and pain. everythings fucked up. it sucks that i cant do anything to fix it. but okay, ill try to get my shit together. ill try.
