redesigned the evil fellas and rewrote some of their lore,,
for any1 who cares, basically donella is now a healer / medic. when she and ulla found the eternal library, they still got into an argument but this time don wanted to go home because they found what they wanted to find while Ulla wanted to keep going deeper. accidents happen and ulla is cursed to stay in the library while don is cursed to stay out of it. don then dedicates her life to trying to get her bestie out of there. The curse also caused her to get a lazy eye plus a scar. Hugo used her scar eyebrow slit as inspiration for his own eyebrow slit. Most of the people who work for her are people she has healed / provides medicine.
her muscle for hire (cyrus) got a massive design overhaul bc i thought they both looked far too Evil. He works for Don because his brother is a bit ill and he cannot afford the meds normally, so he acquires them through don instead. I think hes a bit like laios from dungeon meshi in terms of personality, kinda goofy and well meaning. when he has to attack Varian and Co, hes like keeps apologizing because he feels bad hurting kids (hes like 30is).
Hugo comes to work w don bc of his arm (in me and my sister’s rewrite, hugo doesn’t have his left arm no more (blonde and no arm trope) ) and don is the one who made sure he didnt bleed out so he kinda owes her. also she helped to Make his arm. She tends to set him up with jobs here and there, before she sends him on the Eternal Library quest mostly to test his trust.
In terms of visual design, don gives people that weird metal wrist band to show other rogues and criminals that they are under her protection. She gave hugo one but he mistook it for a Strange hair tie and uses it as such. He uses a wrench to tighten it btws. anyways, don doesnt say anything about it because she dgaf.
uh sorry for the long ramble, i just have a many of thoughts about vat7k (specifically my ver) uh but yeah, i have more to say but just so the post isnt too long lmao (also funny snufkin doodle bc i was watching moomin)

Season 3 of Moominvalley (2019) Once again is banger after banger and has honestly become a show that I’ll definitely rewatch again!! (Especially since I now have someone to watch it with!!) P.S THIS IS PROBABLY GONNA BE A PART ONE BECAUSE IM ✨TIRED✨
To be honest I think Jack Rowan as the new voice of Moomintroll is honestly a pretty great choice, he sounds like he took time and grew into himself. With a nice hint of Moominpapa in his tonality (especially when being dramatic) but still is relatively soft spoken and mixes well with the rest of the cast.
God Episode 3 got me in the guts too, seriously what is it with this show and knowing just where to attack me. Little My’s struggle with feeling like one of the family, especially with her father figure is. Once again very relatable considering so when Moominpapa said he loved her, my heart warmed up so much because goddamn I wAnT tHaT…. And seeing the family growing closer together is always a delight!
Stinky going around saying ‘pinch, grab, take, steal’ over and over is so goofy and that Moominmama has/had a bad girl streak feels so appropriate for her. We love a badass, good mama.
I’m honestly shocked that Moomin didn’t immediately go to Snufkin when it came to taking toffle home p.s my partner literally was like
“ah there’s ya boyfriend” (he hasn’t fully watched the show he’s just watching with me now)
I was so hyped for the lonely mountain episode and honestly it was pretty darn great and fruity with just the right amount of pinning!!
“Your wetter than a fishes flannel”
Lil Ma’am w h a t. We lost our minds to that
Jesus Moomin found him so fast like I know Snufkin said where he was staying but like GODDMAN THERE WERE SO MANY MOUNTIANS. I also love how Snufkin immediately was like ‘alrighty let’s warm you up dear ^-^ ‘ and then immediately got overwhelmed. Once again completely understandable, especially since my partner had just moved in the week before we started watching it so we’re learning to co-exist and I’m so glad the Moomin parents were there to save the boys and the possible confession of Snufkin In which way? Who’s to say.
I’ve very much enjoyed this season and I’m super hype for what they have planned next!! I’ll probably post part two tomorrow sometime!! (Also how is this style of formatting?? Please let me know!!) but thank you very much for reading this!! Have a lovely day/night/time!!

moomins characters in D&D because im hyperfixating
(note: theyre all staying their normal races because im not doing all that)
Moomin: a Peace Domain Cleric in the Hermit background. tbh I see a lot of them coming from the Hermit background because they do live in relative seclusion, but I will try to spice it up a bit going forward. Moomin's kinda generic as a character (at least, in comparison to to others) so he gets to be the second-most generic class. the only reason he's not a Fighter is because he's a lover
Snufkin: Swarmkeeper Ranger, Outlander background. i feel like this is pretty obvious but i'll explain myself anyway. outlander is just "vagabond". and Ranger just suits his vibe the most. Swarmkeepers are described as feeling a deep connection to the environment around them, and often are outcasts or hermits. if he HAS to have a swarm, it would ideally be something inanimate, like a bunch of leaves.
Little My: this one also feels pretty obvious. Thief Rogue, Charlatan background. she's just a conniving little gremlin and that's all there is to it. not to say that she's evil by any means. Charlatans are described as having a way with people, being smart and intuitive.
Snorkmaiden: again, easy. Bard, College of Eloquence. she'd want to be a Noble, but she's actually be an Entertainer. one of their suggested personality traits reads "I'm a hopeless romantic, always searching for that 'special someone'."
Sniff: one HUNDRED percent a Fiend Pact Warlock. i think he'd be foolish enough to stumble his way into a pact like that. as for his background, Failed Merchant suits him pretty well. in the D&D world, i can see him going into various ventures as a merchant, only to fail, and become an adventurer as his last big attempt at getting money. his thirst would override his cowardice. he'd think, he can't be an adventurer if he can't fight OR use magic, and he doesn't have the patience to study to become a wizard, so he'll just make a quick deal with some big powerful demon and get some spells that way. this definitely won't have any consequences!
let me know if i should do a part 2!

If the moomin characters where joined to ask a cult worshipping Cthulhu who do you think would join and who would refuse-
((asking for a moomins and call of Cthulhu crossover campaign- also I want your opinion oh great one/silly))
Oh wow that is a very difficult question... I feel like some of the characters would join under false or naive pretenses, none of which actually have to do with worshipping Cthulhu. The Moomins would probably join because they don't actually know what it's about, or Moominpappa and Snorkmaiden think it would be fun/believe it's the right thing while Moominmamma and Moomintroll air on the side of caution.
Sniff would probably join if there's money to be made (or they offered him enough money), Little My would probably join because she thinks the giant octopus-dragon monster is sick as hell and she would make a great minion to Cthulhu, Mymble Jr would probably join if a crush asked her to...
If anyone would actually look forward to the New World Cthulhu would bring, it'd probably be Stinky, not because he's evil or actually hates anyone or anything, he just likes seeing the world burn while he drinks champagne on a pile of gold while he's on the Big Guy's side.
I'd imagine more reasonable characters like Snufkin, Snork, Mrs. Fillyjonk or Inspector would stay far away from that crowd. Snufkin would probably stay just a little closer and make comments on the situation in the hopes the Moomin family would get out of the cult.
It's just like any other day in Moominvalley
(Also can I please join your campaign that sounds awesome)

I heard you were looking for Bruno x male reader ideas 🤤
Ooo what about a Bruno x male reader where the reader is like a vagabond that comes to Encanto every year to hang out with the Madrigals? Kind of like a Snufkin and Moomin thing. Like they're kind of together/pining for each other?
One year that M!Reader returns he finds that Bruno isn't waiting for him because he's 'disappeared' so he travels even further in order to look for him, he still comes back every year to see if he's returned. After the events of the movie reader is reunited with Bruno and obviously he's super pissed but he's also so relieved that his favourite boy is back and alive.
Mayyybeeee they get married? uwu'
sorry you had to wait so long for this, hope you like it!
Bruno Madrigal x Male reader
Tumblr media
With your backpack heavy on your shoulders, you finally arrived yet again at la casa Madrigal. All year you would travel, you slept in a tent, and made your money by playing the guitar. You made great friends along the way and got to tell all your amazing stories to anyone who would listen. Every year you hung out with the family for a few days sometimes even weeks. You had never been one to settle down but with the family Madrigal, you wouldn't mind staying in the same place forever. When you sprained an ankle or had back pain Jullietta patched you right up with her cooking. Delores would keep everyone updated on your whereabouts and well-being and when you were close to the village Luisa would meet you halfway to help carry your baggage and gifts with pleasure. The Madrigals were basically your family.
They loved to listen to your tales, especially Bruno who hung at your lips every time you spoke. Even when most people wouldn't really talk to Bruno you saw him as the highlight of your visit. After years of your annual visits to the Madrigals you realized your feelings for the dark haired man. You had a while to think about them on your travels. You were certain he would be the one to make you stay and settle down.
You arrived with Luisa at casita, Camillo and Mirabel ran in your arms. You entered casita with the little girl on your back and a copy of yourself. The other family members came to greet you one by one. Julietta welcomed you with a plate of arepas and Isabella gave you a beautiful flower crown as a welcoming gift. Felix welcomed you with open arms "Here comes my favorite visitante!" The weather was perfect and a big smile was plastered on your face as you chatted with Felix and Agustin.
You tried to keep calm but your eyes couldn't stop wandering over to the door of Bruno's room. Agustin noticed the way you looked around, waiting for that one special person. You turned back to him "Where's Bruno?" Suddenly the room went quiet and the faces around you grimaced. Abuela straightened her back and spoke "We don't talk about Bruno" you were so confused and everything felt wrong. Julietta's hand landed on your shoulder and lead you to the kitchen where she let you sit at the table. While making you a drink she told you how Bruno had disappeared without a note.
The following days felt wrong without his presence, you tried to find him but when you realized he really was gone you stayed alone in his room. Your heart ached as you thought about the last time you had seen him.
The dark eyes look at you with admiration as you sing about the things you had seen on your travels and then a goodbye song. Your song ends and you smile at Bruno "Will you write a song about me by the time you return?"  he asks. "Look in the future and find out." You wink. Bruno opens his mouth"I don't want to" You give him a confused look. He takes your hands in his "I don't want to ruin our future with a stupid prophecy." You give him an understanding look and hold his hands tighter. "I'll be back."
Years passed as you looked for Bruno, asking every person you meet if they had seen the small dark-haired Madrigal.
You didn't find him.
Still, you returned to the Madrigals every single year. The smaller Madrigals had now grown into teenagers and the town had been growing too. Even though it was a delight seeing the colorful family your mind kept turning back to Bruno.
It was your annual visit and you arrived at the spot where Luisa would usually wait. Instead, you were met with Bruno. Your Bruno. Maybe a bit older and with more grey strands of hair. But still yours.
You dropped all your stuff and ran over to him. Grabbing his shoulders to make sure he was real. "How the fuck could you do this to me? I was so worried! I- I didn't know what had happened to you..." Bruno kept apologizing while you teared up. You threw yourself into his arms and you hit the ground together. You hugged the air out of his lungs. "I'm just happy you're back" you told him. His hands cradled your face and wiped your tears. "Te amo" he whispered before passionately kissing you, this time it was him making you breathless. You melted into the kiss. "I still want to hear that song"
A few months later you held the most beautiful wedding the town had ever seen, Pepa didn't ruin it (only because Bruno was marrying you). The whole family worked together to make sure you had the best day. Isabella took care of the flowers, and Julietta cooked a heavenly buffet with delicious desserts... You couldn't stop smiling and every time you met his eyes your heart could beat out of your chest. You finally found your reason to stay.

🌱 Snufkin x Reader Oneshot Dance under the moon ⛺️
Snufkin liked to play his harmonica. Sometimes even at night you could hear the melodies he was playing. And at night, when the stars were shining in the sky and the full moon was visible, he decided to play the melody again. He was admiring the night sky and playing the harmonica when he heard someone humming the melody he was playing. Looking at where the sound was coming from, he saw you. You lived in Moominvalley and sometimes you came to the house where the Moomin family lived. You smiled, exposing your face to the moonlight, humming the melody that he played and danced. You danced in the light of the moon, like a fairy or a spirit from ancient legends that he had heard in distant lands. He felt his soul become light and calm. He liked you for a long time. You always seemed as free as the wind. As soon as a fair wind blew, you left the valley and went on a journey. You came back as unexpectedly as you left, bringing with you various little things from distant places and with them different stories. In this you were similar. However, unlike him, you left and came regardless of the time of year. You just wanted to travel, but then you also wanted to go home. And now you were back in the valley and dancing to the music he was playing. He was watching you, watching how relaxed you were, as if that was your element. You smiled at him as soon as you noticed him and continued to dance. You kept dancing and Snufkin kept playing his harmonica. He didn't know how long you'd be in the valley, but he wouldn't mind spending the time you'd be staying in the valley with you.

character: Snufkin
Nice! Thank youuu 🥰
My first impression: Would you believe it, I don't remember... I'll tell you that when I was a wee child and my mother read me those tiny notebook-like Moomin books that were handy to carry around, I used to call him "Usikatta".
My impression now: An excellent character through and through. He has never become my favourite, but I really enjoy his philosophy and interactions with others.
Favorite thing about that character: His response to authority, especially re: the children surrounded by the signs forbidding them of doing anything.
Least favorite thing: Can one find something about Snufkin to dislike? I guess if we were scraping the bottom of the problem barrell, he does sometimes act rather uncaring, but you know, he's just an introvert and he's valid.
Favorite line/scene: Once when one of my best friends went away for a long time, I gave him a card with Snufkin on it that said "One must first leave so one can return", so that's a simple but meaningful, to me. And I think there is something very interesting in Snufkin's line "One can't be completely free if one admires another person too much", it highlights Snufkins own priorities very well.
Favorite interaction that character has with another: His accidental child acquisition after freeing the forementioned children from the rule signs. And him giving a name to Teety-woo.
A character that I wish that character would interact with more: Moominmamma! I love the episode in the animated series when they go on an adventure together. Power team.
Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: Because of a prior question I have Määttä of The Unknown Soldier fame in my head, so I am going to go ahead and say Määttä. Quiet observers who are somewhat strange but who sometimes bring reader's/viewer's own perspective into the story.
A headcanon about that character: There's a mymble bun underneath that hat.
A song that reminds of that character: Okay okay here me out. Kulkuriveljeni Jan. Esp if you think it from the perspective of Moomintroll (sorry about connecting them to brotherly love, snufmin shippers, i swear i'm on your side). Something about you loving a person who wants to travel the world and you being unhappy while they're away, and you only being happy if they come home to stay, knowing it'll cost their happiness if they do stay. You know. Also, Länsituuli by Cumulus has Snufkin & Moomintroll vibes too. "Niin kuullaan ystävälleen monen kuiskaavan, kun syksy ikävän taas tuo."
An unpopular opinion about that character: I think it's unpopular that he was not my childhood crush. I only had eyes for the Water Nymph, I was a child and I thought it would be cool if she tried to drown me.
Favorite picture: I'm not very unique with this choice:

I've read that some characters from the moomins like Snufkin, little my and their mother and their sisters are not really humans. So how would Snufkin, Moonin and the other characters react when they meet s/o who is a girl human that one day appeared in moonmin Valley?
You added other characters and I will absolutely use it to push more Sniff content on you! Also yeah. Considering moomins are canonically REALLY damn tiny, the humanoid looking characters would be like fairies or sth. But I will make them human sized bc I think it's easier to write (if you want more accuracy, sent me a message and I'll do one more)
Tumblr media
Snufkin is pretty unfazed compared to others. He’s been travelling enough to have come across humans at some point. Pretty surprised to find out that his upbringing is something so strange (I mean, im pretty sure he was allowed to wander around before he would be considered old enough to do so by human standards). Sometimes, when he’s feeling a bit silly he makes stuff up about his kind to trick you. Says it in the most chill voice too so the only way to fact check him is to ask his half-sister. Little My calls him out every time just to be a menace, in true older sister fashion
Tumblr media
And when it comes to Little My, she treats you like one of the group regardless. But that doesn't mean she’s not going to complain about your long human legs and so on. Will absolutely use you to get the things she wants off of high shelves. And will laugh if you bang your head on something. I mean, the creatures you come across come in different sizes so it’s not uncommon to find homes and structured built for them. But it's sweet sometimes too (as sweet as she can be) when she calls you her human. And maybe, sometimes (since having humans around isn't something most residents are used to) she’ll drag you around to some events with the neighbors to see their reaction (and maybe to brag about her gf, but she won't tell you that-)
Tumblr media
On the other hand Snorkmaiden is so curious! Asks you about human culture and fashion. Sometimes the others joke that she’s turning into her brother. Begs you to take her to a human village, though that would either require crazy high stealth or some magic. Since you just showed up in the Moominvalley, she’s very open to show you all the kinds of wonders that were ordinary to her before. Being with you made her see them as more special, she loves that part of your relationship a lot. Plus, if you compliment her ability to change colour (not sure if that's a part of the show, but she can do that in the books) she’ll flush and turn all colours of the rainbow
Tumblr media
Okay, Sniff is a funny one because this guy’s afraid of so much but also wants to seem so brave and cool in front of you. Of course, he insists that he was totally not terrified when you two first met. And he thinks being human makes you kind of special (I mean, in Moominvalley it actually does) so he’ll always emphasize that he’s your favourite. Yeah, that's right guys, he has a human girlfriend and she likes him best. Right? You do like him best, yes? Overall, he’s pretty silly and will exaggerate everyday things just to see the shine of wonder in your eyes (and because he feels like he has to give you something special so you stay with him). Still terrified that you just found your way into the valley though, what if bad humans come too 😰😰
Tumblr media
Moomin is a lot more carefree about the idea. He’s so happy to be with you and show you around though he tends to forget that the things that might be ordinary to him are totally new to you. Obsessed with any type of human trinket you have on you. And if he could he’d stay up all night just to hear you talk about your life before coming to live with them. Honestly, he asks a lot of questions and some of them might be a little intrusive, but he doesn't get upset if you don't want to answer them. Oh, and he might have forgotten to mention the hibernation thing to you. Oops
Tumblr media
As expected, Snork would ask a ton of questions. Ready to answer any you might have too, but be prepared for a lengthy rant every time you ask. Though to be fair, if he’s your significant other, then you might not find that too dreadful. He’s more of a theory guy though, so half the time when you all go on your adventures, you’re not much more prepared than when you first joined the group. Still, he truly does find your world interesting and will listen, no matter what you choose to tell him
Tumblr media
And for the bonus character that nobody asked for - Stinky! To be fair, I think it would be funny for a normal human girl to appear in that magical world and just go like, yeah, I like this mean creature the best. I don't think he would be nice about you being a human, but that's kind of on brand. He would be interested in your human possessions and stories. Even if it's hard to tell that he’s genuinely interested. Later he would add to the stories you told him and scare other creatures with them. You’re free to join at any time if you wish to contribute to the chaos

By My Side (Part 1)
Fandom/Media: The Moomins (1990)
Ship: Snufmin (heavily implied)
Content Advisory: Brief descriptions of hunger, stomach growling, stuffing, tummyaches, tummy rubs, caretaking
“Oh, I’m so glad you’re staying the winter with us, Snufkin!”
“You’ve said that about a dozen times today, Moomin.” Snufkin replied, setting down a book he had picked off the moomintroll’s shelf and had been absently skimming for the past few minutes. It seemed to be about pirates.
“Well what else am I supposed to say? You’ve never stayed the winter, and you hardly sleep over in Moominhouse, but I suppose it makes sense now that the snow’s almost taller than the tree you pitch your tent under… You would have been buried if you’d stayed out there all winter!” Moomin rambled, pulling himself away from the window where he had previously been watching the snow fall from the sky in heaps. Snufkin got up to take Moomin’s place at the window upon hearing that, feeling some small urge to check if that claim was true.
“Well how about that.” His tail swayed back and forth gently as Moomin checked the clock on his wall, as if growing impatient for something. “All these years and I’ve never seen Moominvalley in the snow. It looks like a bowl of sugar.”
His stomach panged hungrily at the word ‘sugar.’ Surely the Hibernation Feast was nearly done by now, right?
“I suppose it does, I hope it’s mostly melted by the first day of spring though, I’d hate to have to trudge through the snow while we’re off on our adventure.” Moomin couldn’t keep a smile off his face as he finished that sentence. ‘Our adventure’ sounded like a dream come true; a dream that Moomin had dreamt countless times after hearing Moominpapa’s tales of his youth.
“You forget that’s what I do every winter, Moomin.”
“Oh… Adventure sounds hard.”
“You getting cold feet already?”
“Not a chance!” Moomin defended quickly, crossing his arms as Snufkin chuckled and turned to face him. Eager to change the subject now, Moomin shuffled over to open his bedroom door. “Let’s go find Little My, I’m sure she needs to be reminded to wash up before the feast, like usual.”
Snufkin’s thoughts were already preoccupied with something else as he stepped out of the bedroom, however; the smell of Moominmama’s cooking had hung heavily around the kitchen since breakfast, but now that the sun was nearly set and dinnertime was fast approaching, that glorious meal could be smelled from every inch of the house. Snufkin’s stomach grumbled impatiently, and Moomin’s ears flicked before the troll stole a glance back at his friend.
“Maybe we should ask Mama for some bread before dinner, too.” Moomin proposed.
“You go ahead, I wouldn’t want to spoil my appetite.”
“You sound like you have enough of an appetite.” Moomin teased as Snufkin rested a hand against his belly and opted to look anywhere but Moomin as he willed his stomach to quiet down for the time being.
The smell of food cooking was even heavier down in the dining room, where Little My was already sitting expectantly at the table.
“Spending the winter in Moominhouse again, Little My?” Snufkin asked as he peeked briefly inside the kitchen, where Moominmama, Moominpapa, and Snorkmaiden were hard at work.
“Obviously, Moominmama’s Feast is the best thing to have before hibernation! I’ve been spending the winter here since before you could travel.” She explained, briefly flaunting her status as the older sibling.
“Oh, that reminds me!” Moomin suddenly exclaimed. “This might be a little late to ask it, but you can hibernate, right Snufkin? Because I know some people can’t hibernate like Moomins can.” Snufkin opened his mouth to answer, but Little My quickly interjected.
“Of course he can! He’s half Mymble, and I hibernate just fine.”
“Well, yes, but I’m also half Mumrik.” He reminded, taking his own seat at the table. Moomin sat dutifully beside him. “And Mumriks don’t hibernate at all. I may be able to for a bit, but not nearly as long as you or Moomin.”
“Oh, what are you going to do during the winter then?” Moomin asked.
“I suppose I’ll try to hibernate, and if I wake up I’ll stretch my legs a bit and then go back to bed. There’s not much use in trying to stay awake if I’m snowed in.” He explained, though the thought of being trapped in one place all winter was particularly daunting.
He was quickly pulled away from those worries as the kitchen door swung open, to reveal Snorkmaiden carrying a large basket of bread.
“Oh good, you’re all here already.” She smiled, ducking back in briefly to grab two more plates heaped with different starting dishes. Little My climbed onto the table and made a grab for some bread, but Snorkmaiden swatted her hand and shook her head. “You have to wait! It’s rude to start eating before everyone’s at the table.” Snorkmaiden scolded, and Little My only slinked back into her chair and crossed her arms with a ‘humph.’
And just as she did, Snufkin’s stomach growled rather fiercely, and as his face flushed, Snorkmaiden just giggled and headed back towards the kitchen. “I’ll tell mama and papa to hurry up though, the food’s nearly done.” She assured, but that didn’t do much to assuage Snufkin’s embarrassment as he pulled his hat down over his face.
She hadn’t lied though, Moominmama and Moominpapa were out in a matter of seconds carting their own plates of food, everything from roasted and seasoned vegetables to hearty pasta and homemade sauce, and of course the main dish: A beautiful roast duck. Snufkin couldn’t help his mouth from filling with saliva just at the sight of the feast; he couldn’t ever recall being in the presence of so much food. He was snapped out of his momentary trance as Moominmama set a pie before Snufkin on the table, and then gave him a little wink.
“I made this special for you, dear.” She said proudly, arranging a few more things on the table as she spoke. “You helped us catch so much fish this season after all, so I tried out a recipe for black bass pie. I do hope you like it.” Snufkin just stared up at her, nearly dumbfounded.
“I can’t wait to try it Moominmama, thank you…” He replied, taking up his knife and fork as everyone sat around the table. Moominpapa grunted in agreement.
“Neither can I, working in that kitchen is torture! I’ve been waiting all day to try a bit of everything…” He grumbled as Moominmama sat beside him and gave him a quick peck. “Then stop complaining and start eating, dear.”
And that they did.
With as much polite restraint as he could continue to muster, Snufkin began piling food onto his plate. He took a little bit of everything, but he made a point to take a heaping slice out of Moominmama’s black bass pie. He couldn’t help his curiosity about the dish, and he ended up taking a bite out of that first.
And my goodness, was it heavenly.
Snufkin could hardly stop eating after that initial bite, everything was just so good; the vegetables were crispy, the fish was savory, the duck was roasted and spiced just right. It didn’t take him long to clear his plate, and when he saw everyone else reaching for seconds, he figured he might as well do the same. There were still things on the table he hadn’t even gotten around to trying.
“Make sure to eat a lot Snufkin.” Moomin advised plainly, passing the duck that the mumrik had motioned for once again. “This meal has got to last you all winter!”
“I know, but that shouldn’t be a problem, Moominmama’s cooked enough to feed the whole of Moominvalley.” His fangs tore into a leg of duck, and he couldn’t help his tail from swaying gently at the taste. He hardly ever got to eat a luxury such as cured meat.
Moomin himself couldn’t keep a grin off his face as he saw the other’s tail swaying. Not much could make him happier than when Snufkin showed those little telltale habits that reminded the world that he was, in fact, a mumrik.
Mumriks weren’t accustomed to Moomin-sized portions, however. Snufkin heeded Moomin’s advice to ‘eat a lot’ regardless, and throughout most of the feast, he was far too preoccupied with eating his fill of each and every dish, and made sure to put a helping of his favorites back on his plate during every serving. It would be rude if he didn’t try a little bit of everything after Moominmama and Moominpapa had worked so hard on such a big feast, after all. But by the time he was halfway through his third helping, Snufkin began slowing down a bit, on account of realizing just how full he was getting. He paused briefly to set a hand on his belly, which had rounded out considerably since he began eating. He’d been so caught up in eating that he had hardly noticed himself getting full, and now he just felt positively stuffed.
But he still had half a plate of food left, so he tried to push away the thought of how full he was getting in favor of clearing his plate.
When he eventually did, the stuffed swell of his belly was near impossible to ignore. At least for him. Thank goodness it was hidden beneath his cloak, but he could feel his overfull stomach straining against his undershirt and gurgling with the effort it took to digest the massive amount of food. Thank goodness the chatter of the table was enough to mask the noises, and that chatter only grew when Moominmama got up and returned with a few more heaping dishes of dessert.
“I hope you all aren’t too full yet, you can’t hibernate without some nice dessert in your belly, after all.” She insisted kindly, though Snufkin found himself groaning inwardly. The food looked absolutely delicious, Moominmama had brought out pies and cakes and cookies, and Snufkin silently envied how everyone else looked ready to dig into the final stretch of the meal while he was already stuffed to the gills. He would eat dessert nonetheless though; he’d rather be too full than wake up starving during hibernation, after all.
So he ate a cookie, and then a cupcake, and then a piece of cake, and then a piece of pie until he’d had at least one of every dessert. But after that he positively had to sit back and put down his fork to place a hand on his overfull stomach; if he didn’t he feared his tummy would burst with how much he’d crammed into it.
Thankfully it didn’t, but it did give a rather displeased rumble at the amount of food it had to deal with now, and like usual, Moomin’s sensitive ears swiveled before the troll glanced down at the swell of Snufkin’s stomach, now round enough to be noticeable even under his cloak. Moomin gasped.
“Snufkin-!” But the mumrik just held a hand up, shook his head and stared back at him with a look he hoped communicated ‘please, not here.’ He stifled a hiccup, and Moomin quickly got the message, finishing off the last of his own dessert before standing up.
“Can we be excused, mama?”
“I suppose, have you two had enough to eat?”
“Oh yes, more than enough mama, thank you.” Moomin insisted as Snufkin hoisted himself out of his seat with an agreeable nod.
“Everything was amazing Moominmama, thank you…” He said, one hand still resting on his rounded tummy as Moomin led him towards the stairwell.
“Alright, you two have a good hibernation then! Sleep well.” She called after the boys. Snufkin just stared up at the stairs and then exhaustedly back at Moomin.
“You’re mad if you think I can climb up to your room in this state…” He murmured abashedly. He’d really overdone it, his stomach was starting to churn and gurgle uncomfortably beneath his palm, not used to such an immense amount of food.
“Oh dear… Well, how about I just carry you up?”
“Carry me?” Snufkin couldn’t keep the blush from spreading across his cheeks.
“Of course, how else are you supposed to get to bed?” Both the boys paused as Snufkin’s stomach churned noisily, and Snufkin glanced down at the floor, placing his other hand on his belly in the hopes that he could hide the busy noises. “Best to get you to a place where I can tend to that tummy too, I don’t want you starting hibernation with a stomachache…” Moomin fussed as he gathered the mumrik up into his arms and started the trek up the three flights of stairs.
“Oh please, there’s no need to tend to me, I’m just full.” Snufkin insisted, but the journey up the stairs proved otherwise. Being jostled around and so close to Moomin that the troll could surely hear every churn and squeeze of his overworked gut was enough to make Snufkin silently give into Moomin’s offer for help. Especially now that an uncomfortable ache was starting to bloom in his belly.
Moomin set Snufkin carefully on his bed, and, with a bit of hesitation, the mumrik began making himself comfortable by wrestling his way out of his cloak and kicking off his boots. Moomin hung both his cloak and his hat on the bedframe before climbing up beside Snufkin, and nearly gasping again at the sight of his tummy.
“Oh, Snufkin… You really overdid it, didn’t you?” The smaller boy’s stomach certainly looked full. Where there would normally be the gentle slope of a soft and well-fed tummy, there was now the distended swell of a stomach that was a little too well-fed. Not to mention rumbling like an avalanche around the food that had been crammed inside of it. Snufkin had overindulged to the point where his belly was rounded like a ball and pressing against his undershirt, and after a moment of stewing in embarrassment at his overindulgence, Snufkin carefully undid the belt of his trousers and heaved a relieved sigh. Moomin chuckled gently and tentatively reached a paw out, and after a silent ‘go ahead’ nod from Snufkin, he placed a hand on the top of his friends belly.
“I bet that feels a little better, huh?” Moomin asked, slowly beginning to rub the gurgling swell of Snufkin’s belly. Snufkin just nodded, leaning into the gentle touch of the other’s paw. “Goodness, your belly’s all firm like a rock! Just how much did you eat?” He exclaimed, pressing in ever so slightly to help relieve a bit of the achiness. Snufkin’s stomach just released a string of distressed grumbles in return.
“Four plates, including dessert… How do you manage this every winter?” He huffed. Now that his hat was off and his ears were visible, Moomin could see that Snufkin’s ears were pressed flat against the side of his head, and his face was still flushed in embarrassment.
“Oh, that’s all? I had six, but I suppose your tummy is smaller than mine.” Moomin nearly teased, patting his own round tummy for emphasis. Snufkin just smiled gently, he couldn’t help but adore Moomin’s warm and round softness, everything about him was just so comfortable. He supposed that’s why Moomins hibernated in the winter, that softness couldn’t be properly appreciated if they blended in with the snowy white landscape. “You’ll be alright though-“ Moomin started again, interrupting Snufkin’s train of thought. “It’s your first Hibernation Feast. Once your tummy settles you won’t want to do anything but sleep.”
“Aren’t you tired then, Moomin?”
“Oh yes, but I need to make sure you get to sleep alright before I do. Like I said, this is your first hibernation, so I’ll make sure you get proper rest.” He insisted.
“Well, I learn by watching, so how about you just show me how?” He asked before wincing as Moomin worked on a particularly painful cramp in his stomach.
“Only after you start feeling better.” Moomin worked that spot a little more with the careful pads of his paws, and he was able to loosen the cramp and release another string of gurgles and growls. Snufkin just sighed in relief at the untied knot in his stomach.
“…Deal.”
So they carried on that way for awhile, with Moomin massaging, Snufkin reclined on the bed, and his stomach rumbling away around a lovely feast. Eventually Moomin was able to ease most of the aches in his stomach, and as soon as he was able to focus more on the weight in his belly as a comfortable fullness rather than an achy mass, he began to feel his eyelids drooping. And without a second thought, he began to purr.
“Snufkin!” Moomin gasped, causing the mumrik to crack an eye open. “Oh, you’re purring!” He said in a more hushed tone upon realizing how tired the other was getting.
“Mhm? I suppose I am…” He murmured, stifling a yawn. Moomin did the same; the action contagious. “Well, your belly rubs do feel rather nice…” He continued to purr, and with wide, admiring eyes, Moomin continued to rub Snufkin’s belly with one paw while he pulled a blanket over them with his other. He lied down facing the mumrik to continue rubbing his belly, as Snufkin simply lied there, finally enjoying his fullness.
“I’m glad… Do you feel better yet?”
“Oh yes, much better… Thank you Moomin.”
“Of course Snufkin…” Moomin could feel his eyes getting a bit droopy as well. But before he could ask Snufkin another question, his purring continued as his breathing evened out. He’d fallen asleep, and Moomin just smiled.
“Goodnight then, Snufkin.”

PLEASE give me moomin headcanons I want to hear them /gen
ALRIGHT. Well, this got longer than I thought it would so... enjoy <3
General - In and around Moomin Valley, same-sex couples, as well as polyamorous ones aren't all that uncommon. Adoption is also very common, there are a lot of children who need parents and a lot of couple who want kids but can't have them. - There are no humans in or near Moomin Valley, but a little ways out from the Valley are mixed-species settlements, though the further out from the Valley the less and less non-human species you'll come across.
Species-centric Mymbles - Mymbles are long-lived, non-monogamous, very large creatures. Easily being one of the tallest species around the Moomin Valley, they slowly grow and age after many years. They reach maturity at around 20 years, like many other creatures, but are only considered young adults in Mymble culture until they reach around 40 years of age, at which they reach their full height. They hit a growth-spurt somewhere in their late 20's to mid 30's and grow rapidly until they reach their 40's. - Mymbles can live upwards of a hundred and fifty years. - Mymble children almost always take after the Mymble parent, though will take certain aspects of the other parent. For example, Little My looks very similar to all of her other siblings, except she has sharp teeth and claws, which come from her other parent. - Mymbles rarely settle with one romantic partner, though it isn't unheard of. Mymblemamma/The Mymble actually fell in love romantically with the Joxter, who acts as a step-father for almost all the other kids when he's actually around. - The Mymble is an odd one in Mymble culture, having many, many, many children. While Mymbles will bear quite a few children, she took it to the extreme, having many sets of twins, triplets, and even a few quadruplets.
Mumriken - Singular is Mumrik, plural for a couple is Mumriks, plural for many is Mumriken - All Mumriken are very cat-like, with cat tails and cat ears. They also have cat-like eyes, which reflect light when it's dark, and have the trait of being able to see in near pitch-black conditions as if it were daytime, though everything is in grayscale at night. - Mumriken with tabby stripes, or spots, or wild-type markings like rosettes or tiger stripes are common, as well as those with white spotting in their fur, or two-toned fur. Their fur length also varies from person to person, some having shorter fur and others having long fur. - Mumriken don't have whiskers, but they do have fur over most of their body. (Think how the costumes from the Cats the musical broadway show look, with the fur around their faces but their face itself being mostly skin w/ markings.) - Surprisingly, Mumrik traits overpower most Mymble traits, and most other species' traits too when hybridized. Mymble-Mumrik hybrids are extremely rare, Snufkin being the only known offspring of a Mumrik and a Mymble. - Mumriken are also non-monogamous, and will have many partners over the course of their lives, whether romantic, sexual, or otherwise. It is rare for a Mumrik to settle for only one or two true loves. - They are all vagabonds at heart, preferring the open road and seeing many different places to staying in one spot for their whole lives. While not unheard of, and not looked down upon either, it's rare for a Mumrik to settle somewhere permanently, though there are a few cases of such happening. It's more likely to happen in hybrids then pure-blooded Mumriken. - Certain families of Mumriken have an ability called Forebodings. It can be prophetic dreams that may give a snapshot of a future event, or simply bad feelings or thoughts about things to come, or even the ability to see things where others can't, giving a peek into the future. The Joxter's family line, Snufkin included, all have this ability.
Moomintrolls - Moomintrolls look a little like white capybaras. They have wedge-shaped faces. They also have small eyes. Their claws are blunt, made for digging and foraging. - Moomintrolls, while omnivorous now, originally were herbivores, living off roots and plants that grew underground mostly. As such, most make very good farmers, and are adept as foraging. Many are able to identify whether a plant is edible or poisonous without being taught. - Moomintrolls aren't all pure-white. They tend to be slightly off-white, with Moominmamma being slightly yellow-tinted, and Moominpappa being slightly blue-tinted. They're born pure white an get their unique tint as they mature. Moomin himself is pretty white, but has a silver sheen to his fur, showing he'll be silver-tinted when he grows older. - Moomintrolls are very family-oriented. While many -trolls will move out on their own once they reach adulthood, it's very common to see multi-generation households with three or more generations of -trolls living together. - They are one of the few species which naturally hibernate. Snorks and Fillyjonks also naturally hibernate, but other species, like Mymbles, can force a hibernation. Likewise, -trolls can forego hibernation at will.
Snorks - Snorks have lion-like heads, including manes. All Snorks grow manes, regardless of their sex, though the length and thickness vary. The Snork has a short, nearly non-existent mane while Snorkmaiden's is very long, thick, and luscious. Snorks with the biggest, most well-kept manes tend to be seen as more attractive than those with smaller ones. - Snorks have the ability to change their fur color at will. When they're born they don't have the best control over this, and as such it'll change with any emotion they feel. As they grow older and better get a handle on their ability, this stops happening... unless they want it to happen. - Snorks, in the past, were carnivores, and as such have sharp teeth and claws. They have great senses of smell and and even better eyesight, though they tend to be far-sighted, and many require glasses or contacts due to this. - Snorks, while being communal creatures, don't tend to stay close to family once they reach adulthood, moving out on their own as soon as they can. They tend to have large friend groups instead. - Snorks, like Moomintrolls, don't tend to have specific names, but they will sometimes have family names that are passed down. Neither Snorkmaiden and her brother, nor the Moomintroll family have family names.
Character-centric Snufkin - Snufkin when he was younger looked very much like a typical Mymbleling, bright orange hair, short, and a thin tail with a tuft at the end. As he aged he looked more and more like a Mumrik, fur darkening and growing more, claws and teeth sharpening, and tail filling out. He's nearly indistinguishable from a pure Mumrik. - He's the tallest of his friend-group currently, though once they all reach maturity he'll be the second tallest. - He has heterochromia. I'm basing this off of the fact that some depictions of him give him brown eyes and others green eyes, so he gets one brown and one green eye. - He also has phantom-stripes in his fur, they're barely noticeable but there. Think of a black panther, how in certain light you can see their spots even when they're normally hidden. - Snufkin can play the harmonica, acoustic guitar, piano, and flute. - He's trans! - He's polyamorous, and pansexual. - His birthday is June 15th, and I hc him to be anywhere from 19 to early 20's depending on what idea I have. - He's thin but has muscle, think a healthy cat. - Transmasc (perhaps even a transmasc enby, but I am unsure) - He has anxiety, and suffers from panic attacks. (They can range from a normal, freaking out panic attack to getting super irritated and snapping at everyone panic attacks). He also has ADHD. - Went invisible as a Mymbling, he was the quietest of the bunch and therefore overlooked for his louder, more trouble-making siblings. Because of this he felt unwanted and went invisible and then left the Mymblehouse, never returning. Being on the road made him turn visible again. ((The Joxter and Mymble both remember him though don't recognize him at first, but are quick to both apologize and he doesn't blame nor spite either in the slightest.)) [ I know canonly he's like, put in a basket on a river or something but idk that seems.... i just don't Like That because I don't think The Mymble is a Bad Parent persay, just has Too Many Kids, especially back then when she was still pretty new at being a mom.]
Moomintroll - Moomin is the youngest of the group. His birthday is August 3rd. - He's shorter than Snufkin by a few inches, a fact that never ceases to annoy him. - He's probably one of the strongest of everyone, able to lift boulders with ease when he reaches maturity. He never really grows up, but he gets really muscular with a healthy padding of fat. (Think lumberjack, but like, not a body-builder yknow?) - He stays with his parents because he tried to move out a few times but every time realized he didn't like living alone, it was too quiet and lonely even with frequent visits. - He's a great cook! He learns from Mamma, unwillingly at first but finds he actually enjoys it! And is good at it! He especially likes to bake, but doesn't have much reason to most of the time, not that it stops him. - He can also write and tell stories really well! He's very good at embellishing his words, as well as prose and descriptions. When he tells a story, everyone listens. He gets this from his dad. - He's a bit of a homebody even if he pretends not to be. Moomin longs to travel like Snufkin, with Snufkin, but after doing so once he realized he actually likes being at home. Travels and adventures have their merit and charm, but he doesn't think he could be like Pappa or Snufkin and travel most of his life. - He has a wild imagination, a - Moomin also has a snarky streak a mile wide. He can be super sarcastic, though it never comes across as mean because everyone knows him too well. - He's kind to a fault and always believes the best in everyone he meets. All he wants to do is help anyone who needs it and be friends with as many people as he can. - Moomin is a transman, and knew very early on that he was trans. Both his parents were immediately accepting of this. - He suffers from seasonal depression. He's also autistic. - He's bi!
Snorkmaiden - The tallest AND strongest of all of them. She can lift Moomin, Snufkin, and Sniff all at once with ease. - Second oldest, her birthday is May 22nd. - When she was younger she couldn't quite control her color-changing, all of her fur changing with every strong emotion she had. Now that she's older she has it mostly under control, so her color-changing is relegated to her mane and tail-tuft, and only when she has really strong emotions or she lets herself change colors. - She likes to weave flowers and shiny things into the fur of her mane. - At some point she grows her mane out, going from just bangs to a whole, wavy, flowing mane. - She's a transwoman (perhaps even genderfluid. She/her/they Snorkmaiden???) - Her and Moomin dated when they were teenagers and broke off amicably because both realized they weren't ready for a relationship. This changes when they get older. - She is a great singer, and likes to make up lyrics to Snufkin's Spring Tunes. - She lives with her brother, and eventually moves in with Moomin, which is very uncommon for her species. She's fine with being seen as weird, after all, she's with those she cares for. - She likes fashion and clothing and dressing up, and will drag anyone in her vicinity into joining her in doing so. She also really likes make-believe, and doesn't always want to play the part of a princess. Sometimes she wants to be evil, or a knight, or even a fierce dragon. - Snorkmaiden has OCD, and autism like her brother. - She's very very very bi.
Little My - The oldest of the group, being 4 year older than the others. Her birthday is July 10th. - She grows, but never reaches Mymble Height, staying the shortest of everyone she knows, though she does grow eventually to be nearly eye-to-eye with Sniff. - Her and Mym(ble Jr) have the same father, and she is actually a twin. - She likes to cause problems on purpose. If there isn't anything fun to do, she'll make something happen. - She is extremely smart and very good at problem-solving, as well as math and science, but she hates to admit this. - She has the typical Mymble horns (antenna?), and at one point debated cutting them off because she didn't like how they looked, but ultimately decided to keep them because she realized they were cool. - She lives for chaos, hates things being calm and quiet. - Little My has been arrested no less than five times. She broke out of jail every time, before a bail could be set. She is very proud of this fact. Even Snufkin is impressed. - She didn't realize Snufkin was her sibling, sh - Aggressively Asexual. To the point where whenever someone is being affectionate in public she makes a snide comment because she can. (She actually doesn't mind but she has a reputation to uphold). - She lives part of the year with the Moomins, part of the year with her sister and Too-Ticky, and sometimes just straight up disappears for a few weeks. (She goes back to the Mymblehouse but never admits this.) - She has ADHD. - She's the only cis one of the bunch /jk. She's genderqueer but doesn't care what pronouns others use for her. She personally goes by she/her.
Relationships - Snufmin/Spring Dove (Snufkin/Moomin) ; Very good ship, and one I am partial to. I love the angst of Snufkin leaving every winter. If I'm going this route I like to imagine that Snorkmaiden and Moomin broke up because they realized they weren't right for each other, and that Moomin is In Love With Snufkin, while Snufkin knew he loved Moomin for years and never said anything. - Springtime Trio (Snufkin/Moomin/Snorkmaiden) ; My OTP (OT3?), and what I tend to think about the most. I like to imagine that it starts out in a 'Moomin has two hands' situation, where Snufkin is dating Moomin and Snorkmaiden is dating Moomin, but Snufkin and Snorkmaiden aren't dating each other, yet. Until they end up talking, and getting closer, and getting crushes on each other, and then getting together so all three are equally dating each other. - Mymble Jr/Too-Ticky - Idk I really like these two together, and then add Ninny as Too-Ticky's adopted younger sister who both loves them and hates how grossly in-love they are? Perfect. - Little My/Snorkmaiden - I think these two definitely dated at some point, and whether it works out or they break up depends.

Ok so I’m thinking about that one Joxter au that goes with that animatic I just posted and
(this one https://www.tumblr.com/floralstorms/716707502289551360/smol-animatic-this-time-about-the-cat-dad-idk?source=share )
so Snufkin would be half whatever kind of spirit Joxter is (perhaps if it’s seasonal with a different season than Joxter because of Mymble) or something but also half mymble right (yeah)
Both very forgetful creatures unless if Mymble herself is forgetful and not Mymbles in general which I will incorporate both ideas probably. We shall see on this rambling ramble.
So Snufkin keeps returning to Moomin Valley and not forgetting Moomin, probably?? Hm how does this work out… Hmmmmmmmm
ok so Snufkin is probably a bit foggy on some memories but if mymbles aren’t inherently forgetful that could help I am likely going to go with that (also Mymble Jr and Little My don’t seem exactly forgetful so. Yeah going with that)
Also this adds a layer
Snufkin must travel he has to; he loves it, he needs to wander to feel truly happy, etc, etc. we know this stuff. But after he and Moomin hear about Joxter’s memory conundrum from the memoirs, Snufkin and Moomin get worried that during Snufkin’s winter wanderings he’ll forget Moomin (because this might kick in later, the forgetting, and they’re worried about that) and that worries them both a lot and they care immensely about this (Moomin outwardly showing his anxiety on this subject, Snufkin is Snufkin, and likely gets quiet on this topic, but also tries to work with Moomin to put precautions because Snufkin actually doesn’t want to forget). But Snufkin still has to wander and wouldn’t be happy staying. So Moomin probably gives him a locket with directions to Moomin Valley and maybe a small notebook which Snufkin keeps in his pack with stuff about Moomin Valley, his friends, Moomin, etc.
Idk but I have ideassssss

I've forgotten what happens in that episode all of mooninvalley is a blur to me. Would you like to elaborate? You don't have to but personally I love hearing mutuals/my mutuals talk about stuff they like! ^^
Hi! This got So so long so uhm. Undercut, ok? Sorryyyy (^_−)−☆
November is the last episode of season 2, based off of the final book of the Moomin books, Moominvalley in November. I still need to read the books (I’ve skimmed through some and finished the first one years ago) but the story brought me to tears regardless.
It follows the inhabitants of Moominvalley as they wait for the Moomins to return, not knowing that they have decided to stay on a island permanently (well Moomin comes back but not in this episode). Mrs Fillyhonk, the Hemulen, the Mymble, Muskrat, and Snufkin all wait at the home and Toffle comes by. A small creature who imagines the moomins and wants to meet them. So they tell him all about them, bonding over the story of the Moomins. Snufkin all the while is attempting to find a note that Moomintroll never left for him, for he’s certain Moomintroll will come back and has said when. He hasn’t. Toffle also has a big imagination, thinking of deep sea creatures and how they come to life with the sea. He’s convinced one of these creatures is coming to follow him, and Snufkin tells him to stop reading stories. Later on he asks Snufkin if the moomins are real, and it upsets him and he says goodnight.
The current inhabitants of the Moominhouse end up paralleling the family while staying at the home. Fillyjonk as Moominmamma, the Hemulen as Moominpappa, the Mymble as Little My, Muskrat as Moomin, and Toffle as Snufkin in the sense of being an outsider of the family but still welcomed with open arms.
It cumulates to Toffle saying he brought a beast with him, that it will eat the house up and that they cannot leave. And the beast? Winter :) the arrival of Toffle has brought winter, and Moominvalley is covered in white snow. They say that they can meet again in the spring, when the moomins come back. They all go their separate ways, and Toffle and Snufkin decide to leave the valley. The episode ends with Toffle by the sea, saying the moomins are coming home and Snufkin running fast to see them. But it ends there.
Sorry for my badly done but long summarization of the episode. I liked it a lot! I really recommend rewatching Moominvalley if you can, maybe watch it with a friend if it helps you focus. It beautifully weaves a story based on the books and comics done in a unique and stunning way, tugging at one’s heart strings the whole way through. Love it so mich

So I’ve finished Moominvalley season 2 (2019) and my god I loved it but it hurt me so much in return holy wow. Anyway if you’d like some of my thoughts about it feel free to keep reading ^-^
(fair warning it’s a lot longer than I thought it’d be)
Episode 2 the fire spirit got me so bad in my feelings and even funnier yet I could tell it would by not only the title and thumbnail but the second I heard the song by cavetown I literally was like ‘hm it sounds like something by cavetown…This should be fine’
oh how wrong I was because of how it ended with the little fire spirit sacrificing itself to save Moominvalley and how upset Snufkin was, he seemed to be pretty attached to the lil goober when the gang dropped it off.
So having his care and attempts to protect it, be basically for nothing would’ve been soul crushing for him. Especially with the fact that in the next episode it’s implied that he hasn’t left/been near his tent, makes it seem like he’s grieving the loss. (Or it could just be me being delulu again, because like snufkin wasn’t really needed for that episode but still.)
Holywow I loved how the Hobgoblin and Sniff were just bouncing off eachother so well. Then the Hobgoblin giving Sniff ✨EMPATHY✨ my god that was amazing, especially with how Moominpapa and Little My were like “ew get away from me”
I love how the Groke is now just becoming a more casual part of the community especially with the trial episode, like don’t get me wrong they’re still uneasy with her presence but they still wanted to give her a fair trial and everything.
Ooooh no the ✨The bad feelings✨ I was having about Snorkmaiden and Moomintroll were riiiighttttt. Moomintroll seemed more angry about having to leave the valley (and Snufkin by association) than leaving Snorkmaiden to the point he was unintentionally hurting her. Twice. Technically thrice if you include the fact they broke up. But I’m glad that Moomintroll is beginning to learn that he’s gonna have to accept a couple of things about Snufkin, if he ever wants him to stay. But still kinda hurts a bit.
I loved that Moominpapa and Moominmama have character arcs that don’t involve getting divorced, it’s refreshing and sure they still fight and have moments being mad at eachother but at the end of the day they still love each other and honestly? I love them for that.
Ah Moominpapas midlife crisis, I hope that I can be able to just pack up and go when I hit mine. Sounds like the dream honestly and I wish I could be as creative as Moominmama, just painting the walls with no worries.
I also LOVED the sea shanties just 👌😩 it brings me so much joy because there was a good chunk of time where that’s all I’d listen too.
The last episode though also gave me a gut punch because of the fact Snufkin came back before he left for the winter, and that he just welcomes himself in because he knows that they wouldn’t mind him being there, regardless of if they are or not. I hate it here. Snufkin you found family fuck. And that everyone there played ‘The Moomin Family’ for the kid.
“Have you checked his bedroom yet?”
“Naturally c:”
of course you have you absolute loser I love you for that. Seeing him get so excited about possibly finding HIS letter, only to be disappointed was devastating too.
Oh but the puppet show, oh when I tell you I almost cried, It’s even sadder that Moomintroll (seemingly) isn’t going to back to Moominvalley. Also my heart dropped to my ass when they almost lit the fire with the ancestors inside, but Snufkin excitedly finding the note inside the fireplace? Put my heart right back in my throat
But more lightheartedly damn Snufkin has got some moves and seeing everyone close to the Moomin family looking back at their time and memories together fondly was so incredibly sweet.
Anyways TL;DR a super strong season that got me right in the feels every time, I’m so excited to be able to start the 3rd season soon!! But thank you so much for reading this! I hope you have a wonderful day, night or time and take care!!

are there any top five potential character dynamics you think aren't talked about enough but are interesting to think about, or are just really underrated?
ooh that's interesting!! alright let's see
5 Masamune and Kenta, the little interaction they had was really nice, their energies worked well together, it was a cool moment for Masamune too. I wish Kenta could have had more time to shine in Masters and in general, and idk their arcs work well together too?
4 King and Zeo, their personalities are so different and just,, I think it would be explosive and uncomfortable at first but they could be good friends eventually. This is totally based on Deity's fanfic about team dungeon
3 Ryuga and Hyoma: Yeah I know I'm annoying rgfhjekl This is one of my favourite character dynamic that literally doesn't exist and that I made up from 2 lines of dialogue and one frame where they face each other, that's it,, it's mostly based on a joke, like Hyoma following Ryuga around and being annoying and chaotic, breaking the dragon boy's mind... But also I think there's like a lot of potential between these two,, once again based on one thrownaway line from a beyblade ds game. And just,, I want my two faves interacting and fighting and Ryuga being roasted, that's all
2 Hikaru and Gingka: like,, in canon? it's so little elements when there's so much to think about... Thank you Deity and Sadie for bringing Hikaru and Gingka sibling dynamic to life!! Hikaru totally becomes a Hagane, thats canon in my mind. They are just so dear to me, they can bond about pressure and dead parents (lol), their relationship to failure, to learning to trust their friends... They should have been bigger rivals like pls,, i keep thinking that their relationship and dynamic could have been so much better than the Kyoya/Gingka rivalry fr... So yeah, Gingka Hikaru rival/sibling dynamic my beloved
1 Gingka and Hyoma: Most things related to Hyoma are like,, one line of dialogue that my brain somehow connects to his character traits and story and it's pretty sad :') But I really like to think about a pretty complicated relationship bc they love each other so much, but after the dark nebula attack and Gingka having to leave Koma, he changed so much, Hyoma notices it and I imagine a distance growing between them as the seasons go on. Not helped by the fact that Hyoma just disappears from the canon too :') but it's so interesting to think about their dynamic, as people who mean so much to each other, had to see the other change and leave, maybe they don't know what to do exactly to support the other? Maybe there's a little bit of bitterness and jealousy from both, Hyoma from seeing Gingka being always so far ahead and at the center of everything, always saving the day, and Gingka from just seeing Hyoma being able to stay in the village like nothing happened, keeping this place of paradise that he couldn't keep??? Idk there's so much like aaa And their dynamic makes me think a lot about moomin&snufkin relationship too I love them soo much
sooo I had to think real hard about it vgrjhdek and idk if these are really underrated, i don't think so?? idk if I answered the question well, but yeah here it is

21. Moomin-starfall
Moomin! I’ve never actually finished/posted any Moomin fic, but I am still quite fond of all things Moomintroll. This story is loosely inspired by Stardust (novel by Neil Gaiman and also a movie), wherein the Moomin gang rescue a strange young lady who bears a striking resemblance to a certain scruffy mumrik.
Moomintroll stepped closer, raising his voice enough to be heard over the crashing of the waves against the rocks. "Snufkin!"
"Oh, Moomin!" Snufkin looked over, his eyes gleaming with a fierce delight that belied his calm composure. There was something undeniably wild about Snufkin in weather like this, almost as though he was throwing off a mask of civility, just like the clouds were, and reveling in the coming chaos. "Hello! What brings you out here?"
"I was looking for you. Shouldn't you come in? Mama says the storm's going to hit soon!"
"She's quite right about that. That's Moominmamma for you."
A particularly strong wave hit the rocks, sending up a curtain of water that just barely missed soaking Snufkin from hat to boots. Moomintroll jumped in surprise, and nearly lost his footing on the slick rocks.
Snufkin didn't even flinch. "Oh, this is no kind of weather to be outside in!" "Now that's where you're wrong," Snufkin said, in that peculiar way he had of disagreeing kindly, so that a moomin almost forgot he was being disagreed with. "This is the best kind of weather to be outside in. When else but during a storm is the world so beautiful?" "I prefer a sunny midsummer's day myself," Moomin answered honestly. He followed Snufkin's gaze out towards the heaving waves. They looked cold. And dangerous. "And I'm not really sure it's a good idea to stay out here much longer unless you really want to get wet."
"That's true," Snufkin said, with a wistful little nod.
Moomintroll brightened. "Does that mean you'll come stay with us in Moominhouse tonight?"
Snufkin hummed thoughtfully, his gaze still fixed on the broiling clouds sweeping towards them. "No," he decided. "Not this time."
 "But-!"
Snufkin's eyes were warm as they flicked over at him. "Maybe next time. You can help me pack up my camp, though, if that would make you happy."
"Alright," Moomin agreed, even though it didn't, not really. "Where are you going?"
Seemingly almost without his permission, Snufkin's gaze drifted back towards the storm.
7. DCMK-gypsy AU
This is going to be a little present for the delightful @rainyfox3, once I get my act together to write it. ^_^; She asked for an AU where Kaito was part of a nomadic group (similar to the Romani), and Shinichi was thoroughly not prepared for that.
Warm, callused hands wrapped around his wrists, startling Shinichi into looking up. Bright, mischievous blue eyes stared back at him. It was the boy with the ringing laugh. “Come on!” he grinned.  “What a- ack!” Shinichi's words dissolved into a yelp as he was dragged bodily out of the crowd and into the centre of the square. “Dance with me!” the boy commanded, and immediately pulled Shinichi into a spin. “Wait, no, I don't-” Shinichi tried, but the boy's grip was firm, and he seemed in no mood to listen to protests. In the midst of the whirling scenery, Shinichi saw the other travellers tugging more people into the dance as the crowd of onlookers grew. He mentally shrugged. Getting out of this situation was likely to be more trouble and attention than it was worth. The reel the fiddlers were playing was familiar, at least, and the boy was a good enough leader that Shinichi's rusty dance lessons weren't all that difficult to recall.
Ask me about a WIP!
