i firmly believe that palamedes sextus is drop-dead, jaw-on-the-floor, sexiest man alive and the only reason this isn't canon is because he keeps being described solely from the pov of lesbians

I was thinking about WOL outfits and what not, so here's a question:
And to elaborate on the difference between option 1 and option 2, a brief explanation of my interpretations under the cut:
Illusion magic only masks the true appearance of an item, bending the light aether around the item to make it look different to the naked eye. No physical properties of the armour changes. It maintains its original dimensions and weight. If your WOL was wearing full plate armour then glamoured it to something more revealing, if someone tried to stab an exposed area, their knife would stop on impact of the concealed armour.
Transformation magic will fully alter the physical appearance of the armour into the applied glamour. It will take on the shape and structure of the WOL's desired form, but the properties of the materials used will be maintained. The high grade metal of the armour will be altered to a state where it was like a woven thread. The item would provide the same degree of protection as the original where it physically exists in its glamoured state. If your WOL glamoured their plate armour into a the street wear top, their actual abdomen could be pierced by weapon.
Because this is magic you could fudge the physics if you so choose or say there's a secondary spell involved; but I'd imagine that if the transformation was completely lossless, your glamoured item will weight the same amount as the un-glamoured version. (Otherwise it would be more like a transmutation which is a lossy conversion and not reversible. The WOL turned their new savage tier BIS armour into a hempen camise and lost 95% of the material in the process. When they dispel the glamour they have that hempen camise's amount of the original armour piece.)
That's my take on the two options! I don't know if either of them really contradict any canon in-game explanations to the glamour system tbh. It's been so long since I picked up the intro quest and the only time I remember glamours being used as a plot device it was in the ARR Hildebrand quest line (I think the very end or within the coliseum arc, either way I'm not doing all that just to check and see that it says nothing of note)

I gave myself a writing challenge and I am fascinated by it
So basically I put the robins in a randomizer to give them a new order/role (because I just...kinda wanted to see what would happen + I like role-reversal AUs) and got results that are giving me a fucking brain blast.
Stephanie, the first sidekick who defines the role
Tim, the sidekick who dies and comes back wrong
Dick, the sidekick who saves Batman from himself
Damian, the sidekick who was never supposed to be a sidekick but would go on to prove everyone wrong
Jason, the youngest sidekick who is still the Kid Wonder
...So this is fucking wild. I've got some ideas and several of these fit perfectly (Dick's role is pretty similar to his one in canon), but some of these are fucking INCREDIBLE to explore (Steph being the first Robin is something I never even considered but tbh I kinda love it).
I probably won't write a fic or anything because tbh I don't like publishing my writing that much, but I might expand this into a full AU and post about it. I might randomize other stuff too (ie, stuff that I cannot change vs stuff that I cannot keep the same) but this fucking rules as a starting point.

for finish your fics friday
I'm putting this under the cut since there are minor spoilers for Chapter 4 of the alpha build of Shepherds of Haven. It's a lot more than five sentences, yet not even everything I wrote yesterday and today! Kyrahlise has crush on Blade in this one, but that won't stop her from doing or saying what she wants.
The slight nod she got in response was more than she was expecting. Unlike the faint frown when Blade glanced at the open window.
“The angle of the sun cast a glare on the window, which means I can’t see the colors of the mountains accurately.” Kyrahlise wasn’t going to apologize for opening the window. Not when the chances of the sun being out again were rather slim. At least she’d been able to block in the shapes of the mountains when she was on the roof. So the change in angle wasn’t too much of a hindrance.
“It’s well below freezing.” A different glare than before was levied at her.
“I’m not going to get frostbite or die because of the window being open. And in case you forgot, I’ve managed to escape either of those fates for the past 16 years. Despite having no one hovering over me to fuss about it.”
She thought the corner of his mouth twitched slightly. “You are still quite stubborn.” He’d said much the same when she told him to stop beating himself up about not being with her in the caves.
A slow smirk spread across Kyrahlise’s face. “You'll just have to get used to it, Blade, because that won't change."
Set after the main events of Chapter 4, Kyrah is just trying to paint the mountains on the one day the sun finally shows it's face. Of course Blade did his mother hen thing about her sitting on the roof while drawing. She comes down to mollify him, but she isn't going to give up finishing her painting while the light is just right, lol!
In my mind it's Chapters 3 and 4 where she starts to get rather confused by his behavior towards her. Between her confusion and how protective Blade gets, she starts to get frustrated with him. This won't be the only time she low-key tells him off for it. I have this headcanon that he actually likes the fact she will stand up to him and disagree with him. (Though I don't know how much of a headcanon it is, because I think there is a lot of textual evidence for it.) To me, he sees it as a sign she isn't afraid of him, and trusts and respects him enough to be honest.

what you’ve got to understand about working conditions in education (and also other care-oriented careers) is that if they’re shit, two things are true at once:
that does not ever excuse being cruel to a kid, no matter what
until those conditions are fixed, education will continue to suck absolute shit
this is because when working conditions for teachers are really bad, many of the good teachers who recognize when they are reaching a point where they can no longer be the sort of teacher the kids deserve due to burnout WILL quit. they will do the responsible thing and go away for their own sake and the sake of the kids. and you end up stuck w a combination of new teachers who are trying their best but won’t last long, burnt out teachers who are trying their best but have nothing left to give and therefore aren’t very effective at actually teaching, and cockroach shitheads who take out their misery on the kids.
we have all had terrible experiences with bad teachers, many of them flat out traumatic, but for fuck’s sake please try to look at the systemic underpinnings of the problem for one minute. spitefully declaring that teachers don’t deserve good working conditions or even the right to complain about bad working conditions because ms. whoever in 5th grade was a bitch is only going to create more of her. if you want good teachers then we need an education system they can survive in
