what if i said "but I would die for you in secret" but imagine merlin and arthur.
peace lyric analysis as merthur:
"Our coming-of-age has come and gone
Suddenly the summer, it's clear
I never had the courage of my convictions
As long as danger is near
And it's just around the corner, darling
'Cause it lives in me
No, I could never give you peace"
OUR COMING-OF-AGE?? okay, listen. as we know, arthur's coming-of-age moment is linked to his coronation. He literally has an episode called "The Coming of Arthur" parts one and two (S03 E12-E13). it's arthur becoming king and merlin starting to finally feel like he's getting somewhere with their destiny because of arthur's crowning. this is our setting. we're now in the after.
"I never had the courage of my convictions as long as danger is near" SHUT UPPPP SHUT UPPPP like actually oh my god. as long as danger is near is so so sick and speaks so loud. merlin absolutely does have the courage of his convictions and just to clarify, collins dictionary [colin morgan ;) ] states it as the confidence to do what you believe is right, even though other people may not agree or approve. BUT when arthur is in danger he does not do the "right" thing. he listens to the giant lizard instead or gaius (still love him) and does anything, anything, to make sure arthur doesn't get harmed no matter what.
rip morgana and getting poisoned.
rip mordred's entire existence.
although arthur attracts danger, merlin attracts just as much. and merlin is magic. (ugh, I'm getting sad and the only reason i won't cry is cause i'm in the middle of a lecture. a nighttime lecture). merlin can never give arthur peace because he is everything arthur was conditioned to hate. arthur can never give merlin peace because he's a king with expectations from Camelot and neighboring kingdoms. aka they can never be peacefully together without the threat of danger from them both and towards their relationship.
"But I'm a fire, and I'll keep your brittle heart warm
If your cascade ocean wave blues comes
All these people think love's for show
But I would die for you in secret
The devil's in the details, but you got a friend in me
Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?"
merlin lights arthur fires. that's it. that's the tweet.
merlin is also arthur's closest friend and confidant. he definitely gets arthur to see other perspectives on a situation and makes sure he remains compassionate and fair. for example, that look arthur gave merlin in S05 E11 during kara's trial?? my god. or the episode where arthur killed that one king's son under the influence of his uncle, the sleaze.
THEY WOULD DIE FOR EACH OTHER IN SECRET. NO ARGUMENTS. they've proved episode after episode again that they would no questions asked. people who don't know them just go "he's just a servant" or "you would choose him over your kind?" (ouch) not knowing the depth of their relationship. but yes. yes they would. and they would not have a single regret. they would deny the hell out of it but the proof is in their actions.
but you got a friend in me yes ma'am they do.
and it would be enough. it would. do they need a reminder that they were both born in mind of each other? that it was written since the beginning of time? that both of them have their own personal demons that instead of running away they'd take care of each other instead? that they're the most important person for each other and nothing can split them apart because they've grown to trust each other so much that their souls have intertwined? two sides of the same coin? other half of my soul, as the poets say???
"Your integrity makes me seem small
You paint dreamscapes on the wall
I talk shit with my friends
It's like I'm wasting your honor"
from arthur's pov he knows merlin is better than him. the way he interacts with people, his morals and values, his humbleness, just everything really. he pretends to be mad and upset about it but there's such deep admiration in it that he's actually self-aware.
dreamscape (google) definition: a landscape or scene with the strangeness or mystery characteristic of dreams
arthur finds merlin so strange!! so strange and mysterious.
the walls: i read this one fanfic on ao3 called "The Tragedy of Godhood" by Lilmia_Casand (read it!! it's so good. short, but beautiful) and the summary states:
"Merlin had gotten better at controlling his magic over the years, but it still spilled over, as if he were the source instead of someone calling upon it. It seeped into the castle walls, into the stone floors..."
This was the first thing I thought of (this quote stuck with me, it got bookmarked) and i couldn't have said it better. here's a play by play: arthur lives in a castle. the castle has walls. a lot of walls. he sees these walls everyday. the walls are familiar. the walls stay. the walls are forever. he can't imagine the castle without his walls.
walls = life/the future
magic is part of merlin's mystery because he's essentially hiding HIMSELF.
(does this make sense? no, prob not but bear with me)
there's an air about merlin where when you think about him, you realize you actually don't know much about him. he's a mystery. you know his jokes, you know where he's gonna be at whatever time of day (not the tavern, contrary to what arthur thinks), you know his favourite food. you don't know about his parents, you don't know why he saved arthur at his first feast, you don't know why he stays around.
arthur reflects on this and realizes it one day when merlin starts to become unavoidable in his mind. then he thinks, 'i really know nothing about this boy.' over time, merlin stays by his side, always, and arthur is so dependent on him that he starts worrying if he'll ever leave and if not him, camelot (he has abandonment issues 100%).
also see: S01 E10
hence, "you paint dreamscapes on the wall" is arthur saying, "you're the biggest mystery i've ever met and you make me wonder what every day will be like with you. will you be here tomorrow? and the day after that? until I'm married and have children who will favour you over me? will you be here to see them? to see me? i can't see it through the haze. i can't see you through the haze."
moving on—fuck that was so much longer than it needed to be—arthur and merlin talk shit about each other ALL THE TIME it's hilarious. and they know the one "bad" thing they talk about doesn't define their entire character because they hold each other in such high regard but... well...
(they definitely have regrets after)
"And you know that I'd swing with you for the fences
Sit with you in the trenches
Give you my wild, give you a child
Give you the silence that only comes when two people understand each other
Family that I chose, now that I see your brother as my brother
Is it enough?"
they both go all out for each other but with a focus on merlin, he goes ALL. OUT. it's war with him. nothing is half-assed. he fights, and fights, and never takes it less than seriously. but he also is there at arthurs lowest moments. when they're losing and when arthur is feeling too much or has too much on his shoulders. he's there. through it all.
merlin will give arthur anything he asks. he's already given him the purpose of his life and has hidden his magic until arthur's dying day because he thought that's what arthur needed and thought he would never accept him as he is so he gave it up.
but he's also given arthur the best thing he has. a friend. understanding. communication without words. souls recognizing souls, so much that the silence may be quiet but words are being exchanged through that same silence.
also, speechless eye conversations that range near the line of sexual tens—
then in the last line, merlin is saying: your people are my people. your burdens are my burdens.
"But there's robbers to the east, clowns to the west
I'd give you my sunshine, give you my best
But the rain is always gonna come if you're standing with me"
this goes both ways!! the only difference is that arthur's is visible and merlin's is hidden. explanation: arthur no doubt has enemies, it's not a secret. being a king and a target from the magic community, that man is almost getting killed everyday. it is not a peaceful life. he knows that. but nonetheless, he has shown merlin his best before—merlin is literally the reason he reaches the best person he can be, like the growth omg—so he knows he can give it but he knows there's a lot of baggage (external and internal) that comes with being with him.
as for merlin, his enemies are a secret. and they're dangerous. arthur faces some of those same enemies but from the product of what they've created, not them personally. no, merlin goes head-to-head with the people who curse/try to kill arthur. and he gives arthur a version of his best (he still has to keep many many secrets) but even if it's limited it's still genuine. although his secrets, his late nights, and his pure exhaustion are a part of him as well. and you can't have sunshine without rain.
okay ,WOW, i'm wrung out. it feels incomplete so i might add additional things later on but for now, enjoy.
once again, thank you if you read this, thank you bbc merlin, and thank you taylor swift.
(notice how i didn't use the word love once)

“ NEVER ” ft. lee minho
Tumblr media
timeline : january, 2021
summary : moving forward in life by hiding their broken heart is not something simple. especially for two best friends who can't say a word to each other without feeling their hearts break.
word count : 1.1k>
Tumblr media
after a long, busy day, there's nothing better than spending some quiet time with your friends. or at least that was what inka thought. the atmosphere seemed tense since minho had joined the small group, felix nervously playing with inka's cold fingers as she typed on her phone screen. jeongin's compassionate gaze met that of his elder member, who gave him a small smile, finally snuggling up to the blond boy who seemed to finally relax.
the movie playing in front of them seemed too boring to capture all of inka's attention as she suddenly sighed, leaving the warmth of the blanket before heading to the kitchen. grabbing a glass from the cupboard, she poured herself a cool glass of water before leaning back against the counter, fixing the ground.
her eyes were empty, but her head was filled with a million thoughts, all clashing with each other. a glimpse of frustration was felt in her muscles, accompanied by a slight hint of anger and more particularly, sadness. this situation with minho was more burdensome than she thought, and avoiding it was much more complicated than she expected.
as she sighed loudly again, slapping her cheeks mechanically to give herself some courage, footsteps were heard in the room, which drew her attention — and in a few seconds, her black orbs were on the tired silhouette of lee minho.
clearing her throat and positioning herself correctly, regaining a certain composure, inka finished her glass of water in a few sips, crossing her arms against her chest. next to her, minho imitated her movements by serving himself a drink, before settling down at her side, remaining however, completely silent.
« what are you doing? » he finally asked her, causing the girl to giggle. « i play tennis, can't you see? » — her sarcastic answer caused minho to roll his eyes and sigh, inka watched him out of the corner of her eye, suddenly feeling somewhat ashamed of her childish behavior. but she couldn't help it, she was angry at him for breaking her heart and acting like nothing had happened. they had not even been able to discuss about it, not been able to clarify things between them, it's like.. it just happened, and everything was fine.
but inka was clearly not well.
as a sigh escaped her lips, the girl straightened up to leave the room she was in, but a delicate and suppliant hand clutched her wrist. pivoting to face the boy, inka raised an eyebrow, « what are you doing? » — her crackling voice caused minho to slightly release his grip, plunging his chocolate eyes into those of inka, « we need to talk. »
« oh so, you want to talk now? » declared the girl while getting rid of her elder's hand, crossing again her arms against her chest, « i've been wanting to talk with you for weeks. »
minho lowered his head, shaking it, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, « i know. i know and i'm sorry. i wasn't ready. »
« oh, because you think i am? » a nervous laugh left inka's lips, as she couldn't help but find the situation more hilarious than she expected, « i'm the one who got rejected minho, i'm the one who shouldn't be ready to talk. »
minho completely understood why she reacted like that, and it was a completely normal reaction. but he couldn't prevent a certain annoyed feeling from creeping into his thoughts. as he was about to retort, she finally spoke again, looking everywhere else but at him.
« you don't think i'm severely blessed? i mean.. » she sighed, seeming to search for her words, « if you had explained to me why, i could have understood. i think you know me well enough to know that i know how to keep things separate, minho. »
the boy lowered his head again, taking his eyes off the girl who was standing in front of him. he was pretty sure that everyone had gone to their rooms to let them explain themselves, but he still didn't feel ready to say everything that was on his mind. « now, all you did was pretend that nothing happened, » a certain bitterness was felt in her words, as she finally dared to lay her eyes on the boy, « and i'm not just talking about that day, i'm also talking about what happened between us. »
« you act like i didn't give you all the love i had in me, and that's what hurts me the most. » — she finally confessed, not taking her eyes off of him as he finally raised his head, looking deeply into her teary eyes. inka took a deep breath, rubbing the top of her nose as if to prevent a few tears from running down her cheeks, while minho approached her gently, placing one of his hands on her shoulder.
kalaya looked up at him, getting lost in his piercing gaze, feeling her heart dangerously racing in her chest. but contrary to what one might think, it was painful and not at all pleasant. minho could see in inka's pupils, all the sadness and the sorrow of the world overhanging her glance. she looked so broken that he could feel the ground crumble under his legs, a terrible feeling of guilt instantly crushing him.
« i'm sorry.. » he whispered softly, as she frowned, finally letting a few tears escape from her eyes. she felt as if minho had just broken her heart a second time, she didn't even have the strength to get away from him, to get angry, or to cry. she just felt sorry and tired.
« that's all you have to say? » she asked in a small voice, even though her words sounded more like a statement than a question. minho did not know what to answer, looking at her incredulously while searching for the right sentence to come out. but after a long minute, she finally nodded, smiling faintly as she patted his chest, « okay. understood. »
while she moved away from him, minho tightened his hand to grab the brunette's wrist, but he was stopped in his movements by kalaya's tired voice : « don't worry, i'll do the same as you do, » she began, moving closer and closer to the kitchen exit door, « as if there had never been anything between us. »
and this time, it was to minho to feel a horrible pinch in his heart, as if someone was trying to wrest it from him in a machiavellian way. the pain was too strong to describe, but it was present enough to feel it. when inka was now at the level of the exit, she turned her gaze back to the boy, offering him a sad little smile.
« i just hope you know.. » she started, whispering in a voice that was barely audible, but which he heard clearly, even though he would surely have preferred to be deaf at that time, « ..that our friendship will never be like it was before. »

r u mine?
summary: you are tired of the back and forth of the chase with zhongli and decide that it's finally time to him what you two are.
warnings: gender neutral reader, fluff.
notes: inspired by r u mine? by the arctic monkeys.
you played with your hands when you got nervous. cracking your knuckles, lacing and unlacing your fingers, twiddling your thumbs. it was a tell as clear as day, and all those around you recognized it.
so when you stood in front of your door, hands moving with a mind of their own, zhongli had to wonder what you could be so worried about. to him, the day was a good one. almost perfect, even. after finishing up at the funeral parlor, he had offered to walk you back home just like he always did, and you accepted, just like you always did.
although, looking back on it, zhongli remembered a slight look of apprehension when you replied. and throughout the walk, you seemed a little more quiet than usual tonight, preferring to let the conversation fade in and out. zhongli didn’t think anything was wrong with that. maybe you just needed some peaceful silence after a long day.
but now at the end of the walk, it seemed that he should have been more concerned at your initial abnormal behavior.
zhongli glanced down at your hands and back up at your face. “is there anything wrong, [you]?”
you opened your mouth to reply, but shook your head instead. you gave him what you hoped was a reassuring smile.
zhongli thought it looked more like a grimace.
“i’ll see you tomorrow,” you said. you sounded a little resigned, your voice laced with tiredness and something else zhongli couldn't quite place.
zhongli could have said goodbye and left right there. on any other night, he might have, letting you to mull over your worries on your own, as you usually preferred to do. but tonight, zhongli couldn’t help but ask again. “are you sure you’re alright?”
at that, your hands started fidgeting faster, if that was even possible. so without thinking, he reached out and held them, effectively rendering them still as he covered them with his own.
or maybe it was your surprise that stilled them. you were used to the fleeting brush of hands, a brief moment of contact, when working together. but never had he done anything like this.
“i’m fine, really,” you quickly replied. “but, zhongli, i just—“ the words were falling out of your mouth with your permission. a part of you wished you could reach out and stuff them back down your throat.
a smaller part of you was glad you couldn’t.
“please, what is it?” he asked. his eyes were completely sincere and he had subconsciously begun rubbing small circles into your palms with his thumbs.
you forced yourself to relax and summoned all the courage you had. there was no turning back now. “are you mine?”
the world stilled at the question, as if it was holding its breath, waiting for the answer. you had been wanting to ask him this for a long time now, ever since he first started walking you home all those months ago. ever since you and him exchanged more glances and smiles during work. ever since he took care of you and made you tea when you were feeling unwell.
and today, you felt that you couldn’t go another day wondering what you two were to each other. if anything at all.
a relieved smile bloomed on zhongli's face. “was that what you were so nervous about?”
he clasped your hands together with his on the outside. “i’m sorry, my dear. i thought it was rather obvious.”
you tilted your head to the side, which earned a chuckle out of him.
“i adore you. i thought you knew that,” zhongli clarified. the world stopped holding its breath. “you shouldn't have needed to ask. i am yours. i have been for a while now.”

Finding Family 5
Finale
Ao3 *** Part 1 *** Part 2 *** Part 3 *** Part 4 *** Finale
Did it take me forever to get around to finishing this, yes!
~~~~~~~~~~
The moment Marinette opened a portal they understood the question a lot better. One second they were standing in an extra room in the mansion far away from the gala. The next, they are standing on a rooftop, in the early morning, and they can see the Eiffel tower. Meaning that he, Dick, and Tim are trying to figure out what’s going on.
"About time you guys got here Cerise, who are these three?" A young woman in black and gold was waiting on the roof top.
"Long story extremely short, Amber they the bats from Gotham and before you say anything, Hood works with them so we can trust them. They also have experience with the League." Marinette, Cerise, answered holding up a hand to stop the question before it was asked.
"Perfect, so Krait and Tatsuya were patrolling Notre Dame. And like always they were settled in one of the towers, but that's also when they saw the league go into the cathedral."
"Any idea what they want?" Red Hood asked.
"No Krait said he would be in contact soon, but it’s been a while."
"What do you mean when you say a while, how long are you talking about." Tim voiced, knowing that time is of the essence wherever the league is involved.
"Three minutes." Amber answered, causing the bats to stare back dumbfounded.
"He should’ve come back by now, and knowing Tatsuya, she would’ve charged." Cerise mused.
"Wait you’re worried about three minutes." Dick voiced the collective bafflement. "Thirty minutes would be cause for alarm not three."
"For a person who can rewind time three minutes is quite a long time without contact." Shadow, Damian, clarified while rolling his eyes, at the obvious information.
"Well, I have a plan." Cerise interjected before any of them, Amber specifically, could ask questions. "Shadow, Hood, Bats with me. Amber take Robin, Nightwing, and Saphirus to make a perimeter."
"You got it." Amber pulled his son's away along with Alfred, but this wasn't his City, so he had to trust her, if only for Jason.
---
They moved quickly and easily, as they moved through the city getting ever closer to the Cathedral. She has to assume it was a trap with how easy it was, but she and her little group made their way deeper in.
"The information saying the miraculous were active again is true it seems." The man speaking was at the end of the aisle. Eyes she's only met once before studied her. Eyes she hasn't forgotten, even years later.
"To what do we owe the displeasure of this meeting, Demon?" She quirked a brow under the mask, while her voice remained a stoic mask.
"I want you to take me to the Yīng Táo of the house of Cheng." Came his brief response, never once suspecting who he is speaking to.
"Why would I do that?" She asked never dropping her mask.
"She has stolen something of mine." When no one said anything he continued. "She has stolen the Prince of Shadows, my grandson, from me." Her mask finally slipped as she started laughing.
"Her sons are not, have never been, and never will be your property." With each tense she flicked up a finger to emphasize her point.
"He is my blood, my heir, my..." She didn't let him finish.
With a flick of her wrist, she threw an escrima stick at him. He easily dodged it but that wasn't it’s purpose. As it passed him it turned back into a yo-yo with the other end still in her hand. She caught him with it and throwing the second, ensnaring him even further in the magical cords. She moved forwards, her little Yīn Yǐng on her heels.
"The blood of the covent is thicker than the water of the womb." She heard her little one speak up beside her. Her expression softened knowing the courage it took him to speak back to his grandfather. If it wasn't for the man's next words she would have cooed.
"You insulant child!" The man spat, still tied on the floor. "You dare lecture me."
"That's enough from you." She sent an electric shock through the wires, so the man collapsed on the ground unconscious.
Not a second later various assassins fell from the rafters in various states of consciousness, paralysis, and some were even frozen.
"How many times, Krait?" She asked, already suspecting the answer.
"Just once." She could practically see Luka's grin through the mask. "I had to see that again."
"You had us worried!" Chloe pushed him off balance, a small laugh laced her voice.
"How do you feel Dal Sghaier?"
Jason knelt in front of his littlest brother.
"You and Mama, and the pack, and the kwamii are my family." By the end Damian's transformation fell as he hugged Jason tighter and tighter. At this point all three of them dropped their transformations and held each other on the floor of the cathedral.
They stayed like that until they heard the tell tale sounds of high heels on stone floors. Resulting in everyone turning to watch the new arrival.
"For the record I tried to stop him."
"And we could all tell you that would be a hopeless endeavor, Tahlia." She responded to the newest arrival, who stopped between the pack and the bats.
"I know." The woman came up to their little family. The bats looked ready for a fight. While the pack stood back, almost casually. "As your birth mother I can't say I approve. But..." Tahlia started, her expression softening as she spoke. "But as someone who wants the best for you. I know you found your place. Wouldn't you agree, Beloved?"
"I don’t see how my input would affect your decision." Bruce voiced; his two boys looked as if they were still waiting for the woman to attack them.
"I suppose it’s only logical." Tahlia said in response. "He however is our child."
Softer so that only Marinette could hear she whispered in her ear, so sincerely that Mari could finally smile since arriving in Paris. "Take care of them for me, both of them."
"Of course." She smiled at the woman but turned into a smirk. "Just tell your father if he ever tries to harm or touch any of my family. Bats over there won't ever find his body." The assassin smiled, chuckling at her response.
"I'll hold you to that." With that the woman took her leave, leaving several of them with more questions than answers. But also, two less demons in the room.
Mari quickly turned back into Cerise, and with Kaalki's help opened several portals to drop the assassins back in Nanda Parbat. And she then opened another door to the room where they had all left from in Wayne manor.
They were gone for maybe twenty minutes at the most, that however seemed to be more than enough time for the reporters to start their newest gossip on the tabloids.
Bruce Wayne’s mysterious meeting with designer Mira at gala, ended up being the trending headline the next day.
So did most believe they had a fling and now she was bringing in their child into it. They did. Because anyone with a pair of eyes and a brain cell can tell, Mira's child looks suspiciously a lot like Bruce Wayne. Did both she and Bruce try to explain it. Also yes, but that didn't go too well. The tabloids went on and on, so they also decided to roll with it for fun more than anything. Later speculation revealed their original explanation which was believed more by the people of Gotham. And that only re-enforced exactly why both of them prefer to stay out of that light.
---
A few months later he and Marinette we’re happily dating, sure it turns out her youngest ended up being his biological son. Was he still a bit paranoid and decided to do a DNA test. Yes. Did either of them judge him for it. No.
But now as he sits here watching all of his children on a lazy Sunday morning, he finally felt whole in a long time.
For the first time in a long time he was truly happy, and he knows it started a long time ago, when he first met that girl in a small village in Tibet. He would have never expected his life to turn out the way it did.
He never expected to become a vigilante.
Much less a father.
Or to even find someone he truly loved to call his own.
This is his life now, but he wouldn’t change anything, because this is the family that he found and built. It’s his, it might be little, majorly crazy, and broken ninety-nine percent of the time, but it’s his.
Family is not always just the one you are born into. But also, the ones you choose to stand by, protect, and love.
And he’s glad he found this one.
Fin
HOW DID THE CHAIN MEET IN YOUR STEVEN UNIVERSE AU???
HOW DID TIME BECOME…TIME?!
ARE THE GODDESSES THE DIAMONDS? AND IF THEY ARE ARE THEY LIKE THE DIAMONDS IN THE SHOW???
WHAT IS RAVIO?? IS HE LIKE- A GEM THAT WAS CUT FROM THE SAME CRUST/KINDERGARTEN AS LEGEND???
TELL ME ABOUT IT SAHDE
OKAY
HELLO(I just got from my nap, sorry for the wait)
FOR THE FIRST QUESTION
All heroes, instead of having a triforce, they have a shard of First’s gem, also called the Shards of Courage. These shards are made of basically just Light because that was Hylia’s parting gift, to make his shards shine brighter than the morning sky. Ask the chain, except Sky, they fucking hate it. It’s Sky’s nightlight by the way. It’s like a naturally made flash bang. It’s an activation thing, so it’s not always there.
I don’t know why I explained that last part but whatever.
I actually haven’t thought about how they met, but I suppose we could stick with the iconic dream montage. Like, they all pass out randomly and suddenly First is talking to them like, “Hyrule needs her heroes to assemble and-“ blah blah blah
A lot of them probably ignore him, but some days later, when they all end up through a portal, surrounded by each other with their bright ass shards, they definitely believe the magic dream man.
SECOND QUESTION
Time is a fusion between Fierce and Mask
I should also clarify that Majora and Fierce were never masks, their gems were put in stasis. Skull Kid and Mask were able to gem those gems out of stasis(I didn’t think about how yet) and I guess the final fight was like a Pokemon fight and I love that idea so much but it’s also so stupid-
SO WHAY HAD HAPPENED WAS, AFTER THE BIG TERMINA FIASCO,
Mask and Fierce were going to part ways, but Fierce has been in stasis for so long, he knew that the surface had changed. Not only that, but being in stasis for so long made him weak. It made Majora and Fierce weaker than they used to be.
So Mask, still in a existential crisis, was like “we can be travelers together then” because mask didn’t want to seem like he used Fierce (even though he kinda did) so he offered to be travelers together with Fierce.
My boy Fierce took that “together” the wrong way and kinda forced Mask to fuse with him.
THEN BOOM, TIME EXISTS
Mask is kind of shaken like, “What the fuck?”
Fierce is kinda like, “Isn’t this what you meant?”
Mask is like, “No!” Mask then uses they mirror shield. “I mean…”
So now they’ve been fused for a good while. They also just feel safer inside the fusion because they know that if one fumbles, the other has their back.
I also have a feeling that no gem truly knows what it means to be married, so when marriage was proposed to Time, he was kinda just-🧍🏼‍♂️
Then Malon(I’m keeping her human…hylian) explained it sort of like, “Marriage is like promising to be best friends forever-“
“Then me and Fierce are married?”
“NO-“
THIRD QUESTION
I would give the Goddesses Diamonds. Nayru gets Blue, Farore gets Yellow, Din gets White, Hylia gets Pink.
Hylia gets pink because she is all over the place. But she is actually shattered too. She shattered herself after First got shattered so her shards(Shards of Wisdom) could be beside First’s for all eternity. You know Demise’s hating ass shards(Shards of Power) are also there, tearing shit up🥰🥰🥰
The other diamonds, Nayru, Farore, and Din, just monitor what the shard wielders are doing and making sure Hyrule doesn’t fall in on itself.
FORTH QUESTION
Yes, Ravio was born in the same Kindergarten as Legend. The same hole too. He was made after Legend though and came out “deformed”. Physically, Ravio doesn’t look really deformed, but other amethysts disagree. He’s skinnier and weaker and far more in the mind(smarter) than he should be.
That being said, my boy did not have fun while trying to serve his diamond. So he ran away. He attempted many times to run away, in turn, he was kind of tortured by his “siblings”. Don’t worry, there’s no crack, but other amethyst would forgive and forget in a solid three human years, but Ravio? Those nights are engraved into him gem.
In order to truly escape, he had the help of an opal(Hilda) they kinda just hang out together until they find another amethyst(Legend) on earth and started spying on him and WOW ANOTHER GAME INCOMING
Kinda dropped backstory there whoopsie😅
Ch 1 Ch 10
If he expected to take advantage of their time alone in the ride back to the cabin, Simon would have been wrong. Instead of continuing their conversation from earlier, they wordlessly elected to let the car fill with whatever radio station Johnny had settled on. He wasn’t familiar with the music, but Johnny seemed to be, mouthing along to the lyrics as he stared out the passenger side window.
Soon enough the buildings grew sparser, and the road transitioned from paved asphalt to gravel to well-packed earth. The town became farmland became forest, with the light of the moon guiding them on their way home.
He felt like the drive had passed in an instant. Moving exclusively through muscle memory, Simon parked and pulled the keys from the ignition, but before he could open his door, a warm touch pulled his attention to Johnny.
The man looked unsure, chewing on his lip and staring at the pristine-looking rental car already parked out front. He didn’t remove his hand from where it lay on Simon’s wrist, thumb idly passing back and forth over his pulse.
“Kate knows, doesn’t she?” he asked, betraying his uncertainty.
“Know what?” Simon had gotten lost in the labyrinth of his own thoughts, so he was having a harder time than usual following Johnny.
“About us? Me and Price and Gaz and the pups…”
“That you’re not exactly human?” he supplied, turning to give Johnny his full attention.
He nodded before finally making eye-contact. His eyes were the vivid blue that signaled his shift was just beneath the surface.
“Aye…” He was silent for a moment, collecting his thoughts. “And you trust her?”
Gently, he broke Johnny’s hold on his wrist. Instead, he tangled their fingers together.
“With my life. Kate is one of the only people to have ever stood by me, especially right after— after my family’s deaths.” He stumbled over his words, but he pressed on. “She’s only ever done right by me, even when they were calling for my head.”
Raising their fists to his mouth, Johnny pressed a hard kiss to Simon’s knuckles.
“Then I trust her.”
His eyes had faded to their usual shade of blue by the time he was finished speaking, but they fell to Simon’s lips. Positioned as they were, leaning toward each other across the center console, it would be so easy to kiss him, he thought.
Despite their mirrored confessions while they were jailed together, they hadn’t actually clarified what their relationship would be moving forward. And even though he wanted so desperately to kiss Johnny again, Simon wasn’t sure he was prepared to open himself up to that kind of vulnerability again. At least not yet.
Reluctantly, he cleared his throat and dropped Johnny’s hand.
“They’re probably wondering what’s taking us so long…” he murmured.
Before he could get too far, though, Johnny reached out again, cupping his face with one hand and turning him back to face him again.
“I love you, Simon Riley. And whatever it takes, I’m gonna win you back,” he promised. “You’re gonna trust me again, I swear it.”
With an unexpected surge of courage, Simon leaned forward and kissed Johnny’s cheek.
“I’m counting on it.”
And if he smiled to himself as he exited the car at the stunned look on his face, it was no one’s business but his own.
It was late when they got back. Late enough that Simon wasn’t surprised that Duncan and Ailsa did not greet him when he opened his front door.
Instead, Kate sat at the table with Price while Gaz leaned against one of the kitchen counters.
“I see you’ve helped yourself,” Simon noted as he took in the tumblers that sat in front of Price and Laswell, filled with what he knew to be his favorite bourbon.
“I was invited,” Kate said simply, nonchalantly taking a sip of hers. “Don’t know if these two can say the same.”
“We’re pack. We get privileges,” Price shrugged, adding “The pups are down for the night in the bedroom.”
Simon nodded, ducking down the hall to peek into the bedroom just to lay eyes on the little lumps under the covers in his bed. Smiling softly to himself, he emerged back into the kitchen.
He shrugged off his coat and quickly poured his own drink as the door opened once again to reveal Johnny with cheeks that were perhaps pink from more than just the chill in the air. Simon held out the drink he had just prepared to Johnny as he joined them in the kitchen, grunting at Johnny’s nod of thanks before fixing himself another.
“If you’re pack because you came with Johnny, Kate is pack because she came with me,” he tossed out, ignoring the raised eyebrows shot his way. Was it really so surprising he had friends other than them?
Gaz was the first to chuckle. “How do you two know each other exactly?”
“She raised me from the dead,” he deadpanned.
Kate rolled her eyes fondly. “We worked together. He was in a different unit. Your Taskforce was exclusively supernatural. Ghost was probably the only human I’d even consider adding to your crew. Luckily you all retired and I didn’t have to.”
“Wait, how did you know that? That’s supposed to be classified,” Johnny asked, clearly lost.
“John, she’s Watcher,” Price explained. “Did you not know who she was this whole time?”
“What?”
Simon and Kate shared secret smiles between them.
“Yeah, mate, how did you not recognize the voice at the very least? We worked together for years,” Gaz said, clearly overjoyed at finding something new to tease him about.
“How was I supposed to know? We only ever called her Watcher, and we never met in person!”
“You never met her in person,” Price corrected.
Before the conversation could devolve into further bickering, Kate spoke up.
“We need to discuss what’s been happening.”
The room fell silent, everyone automatically deferring to Kate.
“Simon called me awhile ago to organize some paperwork for Duncan and Ailsa. I take it that this D.C. Collins is the reason why?”
“Yes,” he affirmed. “For some reason, when we met in town, he became fixated on Johnny and Ailsa in particular.”
“Aye, the bastard seems to have picked up that something isn’t normal with us,” Johnny grouched, shooting back the last of his bourbon.
“Well I was able to look into him a bit,” she explained, pulling a file out of the bag at her feet. Flipping it open, she turned it around so that the rest of them could scan it as she spoke. “Matthew Collins, Detective Constable. He’s with the police where he and his brother, Harry Collins, are from.” She pulled out another folder, this one much thicker, and flipped it open alongside the other.
“It looks like Harry has gotten himself into trouble over the years. Drunken disorderly, breaking and entering, poaching, among other things. It took some digging, but I was able to learn that Harry fancied himself a monster hunter.”
She flipped to a few photos where the man was posed with some others around the body of a suspiciously large bear. Simon recognized the other two from the night he killed them.
“There’s no hard evidence of this, of course, because ‘officially’ supernatural creatures don’t exist. He and his cohort seem to have been better about not documenting the more outlandish creatures that couldn’t be explained away. Luckily, they weren’t particularly successful. I was able to find only about five victims in the last decade, including Duncan and Ailsa’s parents. There might be more, but I doubt it with the way these men operated. The Collins’ father seems to have been much more active in his time, but he was killed when the boys were about twelve and fifteen respectively. I suspect that’s where this all started, with their father’s death.”
“So they decided to take up the mantle,” Price growled.
“So that’s the dead brother,” Gaz said. “What about the one that’s after us now?”
Kate smiled thinly. “Matthew. While his brother became a murderer, he chose to pursue a career in law enforcement. His numbers are pretty average, but it looks like he was able to get big brother Harry out of trouble a few times. He’s been investigating this on his own. Officially, he’s not even on the case. I was able to speak with his higher ups and have him reprimanded and pulled from the case. They’re not happy with the mess he’s made of things out here.”
She pulled out yet another file, this one incredibly thin.
“This is Harry’s missing persons file.” Flipping it open for them, she placed it on top of the other two. “Officially, this case is impossible to close. No body, no evidence aside from some eyewitness testimony from earlier in the week, and the last known location that pinged off his cell that’s a handful of kilometers from here. He’s running this show on nothing but his gut. I was able to get all the charges thrown out, but Simon,” she paused, looking him dead in the face. “You did not need to get arrested too. I had to promise to replace the receptionist’s paperweight. She didn’t let up until I told her it was all in the name of love.”
He ignored the knowing look in her eyes when he grumbled, “You told me to get in to see him…”
“In what world does that mean get arrested?” Kate asked incredulously. “That’s how I knew it was real. When Simon Riley is making foolish decisions over a man.”
“Kate,” Price murmured, trying and failing to subtly gesture for her to stop.
“Oh, are you…?” She looked from Price back to Simon and Johnny who were standing stiffly beside each other. “I didn’t realize you were pretending not to be in love.”
“No, uh, it’s just complicated at the moment,” Johnny tried to rescue him, his face progressively getting redder and redder.
Laswell looked between them again before rolling her eyes. She took another swallow of her drink before muttering something that sounded suspiciously like “Men” under her breath.
“Regardless, I am hoping that getting Collins pulled from the case by his bosses is enough to get him to back off, but with how persistent he’s been, I doubt it. I recommend continued caution until I can confirm he’s gone home and will stay there.”
They all shared a look, wordlessly agreeing about the likelihood of that happening (next to none).
“On that note, I am turning in for the night,” she declared, drinking the last bit at the bottom of her glass. “Whoever is coming back to the Price-Garrick abode, you can join me in the car or make your own way.”
“Ruthless,” Price teased as he and Gaz went to grab their coats.
As she cleaned up her folders, Simon went to help her, and Johnny began gathering glasses. Before Laswell put them all away, however, she pulled one last file from her bag, holding it with more care than the others. It was unassuming for the most part. It was a decent size, but there were no notes on the outside to denote what lay within. There were a few sticky notes peeking out from the sides, and a handful of paperclips that ensured it didn’t lay evenly.
When he went to open it, Laswell gently laid her hand over his, stopping Simon.
“This is everything I could find on their parents,” she murmured. “They don’t have any other family from what I can tell. It’s probably more than strictly necessary, but just in case they want to know more as they grow older. I included all the photos I could find.”
Johnny stepped up to stand next to Simon as she spoke, addressing both of them.
“That’s unusual for wolves, to be the only ones,” Johnny said, grief implicit in his voice.
Kate smiled sadly. “They had each other. From what I can tell, theirs was a small but happy family.”
Johnny made a sound in his throat, something caught between a whine and a chuff. When Simon slung his arm around his shoulders, he leaned in.
“We’ve got them now,” he murmured. “Thanks, Kate.”
“Of course, Simon. You know you ask and I’m there.”
As she passed them on her way to the door where Price and Gaz were waiting, she squeezed them both into a tight hug.
“You boys are doing a good thing,” she reassured.
When the door shut behind them, Johnny turned back to Simon.
“And then there were two,” he mused, going back to cleaning up anything left out for the night.
But Simon wasn’t paying attention. His eyes had made their way back to the file folder sitting on the table. Images of a woman, covered in blood, begging him to keep her children safe flashed before his eyes.
He slowly opened it, eyes scanning over basic demographic information, and a driver’s license photo.
Danica Anderson. A name.
She had Duncan’s eyes. Ailsa’s nose.
He flipped the page to find a man. Patrick. When he died, he had been in his wolf shape, so the face staring back at Simon was unfamiliar while simultaneously looking exactly like his children.
When he felt a hand on his shoulder, he startled.
“Just me, Si,” Johnny murmured.
“Sometimes I wish I had just left town earlier that night. Then maybe I could have gotten there sooner,” he whispered, reaching to slide his arm around Johnny’s waist. “I know I can’t change what happened, but they shouldn’t have died.”
A particularly wolfish sound left Johnny’s throat at that.
“Oh Si, I know. We do our best, but we can’t replace them.”
Gently, he pushed past all of the documents to the photos Laswell had mentioned. Johnny leaned further into his side as they looked at images from social media, photos likely hacked from some app online, and school photos from when Danica and Patrick were younger.
“She was bonnie,” Johnny observed, running a finger down a photo of Danica laughing at what appeared to be a professional conference.
“She was damn smart too. Doctor of entomology,” Simon commented, pulling aside a photo of the two of them at Danica’s commencement, proudly holding her degree while Patrick kissed her cheek.
Johnny smiled at that. “Now we know where Dunc’s love of creepy crawlies comes from. Oh and here’s their Da playing footie! Think I can convince them to get into it?”
There was a soft smile playing at his lips when Simon looked down at Johnny.
“I think you could probably get those pups to do just about anything with you.”
Johnny tilted his head back to look back at him.
The two of them weren’t fixed, but they were getting there.
They spent a little longer looking through the photos and learning about Ailsa and Duncan’s parents. Johnny got a little misty eyed when they found Danica’s maternity photos, and even Simon wasn’t sure his own eyes were totally dry.
“When it’s calmed down some more, I think we should talk with them about how they want to remember them,” he murmured as they gathered the file into some semblance of order again.
“Aye, that’s probably a good idea.”
When it was as together as it was going to get, Simon headed into the living room. He pushed the couch aside to reveal one floorboard in particular that lifted to reveal a fireproof lockbox.
“Code is ten-ten-eighty,” he said out loud.
The door popped open to reveal a small fortune in cash in multiple currencies, several passports, a handgun, about half a dozen knives, and a pile of several file folders where Simon stacked this one.
“I’ve got hard copies of the documents Laswell drafted up for the pups as well as some backups with aliases just in case. You’ve got some in here too.”
He didn’t look back to see what Johnny’s reaction was. They were retired, but Simon had learned that they had both been special forces. Hopefully the other man understood.
When he stood back up, Johnny wordlessly stepped forward to help him replace the couch.
“I guess I’ll sleep out here, if you wanted to take the bed with the wee’uns,” Johnny offered.
“I don’t want to wake them,” he admitted. “I can take the couch if you want the mattress.”
“Alright…”
They were back in awkward territory.
When they moved at the same time to move the mattress, they bumped into each other, muttering apologies. Simon stole a glance only to meet those blue eyes again, a blush once again taking up residence across Johnny’s cheeks.
They laughed softly, smoothly falling back into a partnership as they set up the living room for the night.
A creak sounded from the hallway behind them, and when they both turned to look, they found wide, sleepy eyes staring back at them.
“Simon? Johnny?” Duncan spoke, sounding small.
Instead of saying anything else, his sister pushed past him to march up to them, practically climbing Johnny to get him to hold her.
“Easy there, girly,” he chuckled.
She was still very clearly half-asleep, so all she did was snuggle closer and close her eyes again.
“Don’t leave again. Missed you,” she mumbled.
Duncan walked over and stood in front of Simon, lifting his arms up.
Like a well-oiled machine, Simon responded to his cue by hauling him up into his arms, and letting the boy latch around his neck like an octopus.
“Come sleep,” he demanded, surprisingly bossy in his sleepiness.
“We can tuck you in, Bug,” he assured.
“No. Everyone in the big bed.”
Simon and Johnny shared another smile.
“Aye, think we can manage that,” Johnny agreed.
Instead of putting away the mattress for the night, the silent agreement was to leave it for the morning. It was late. Their presence had been requested in the bedroom.
It was still a tight squeeze with all four of them, but the pups snuggled close. When Ailsa, almost definitely asleep already, felt Simon lay down beside her, she looped her arm around his, cuddling his biceps like her favorite stuffy. She did the same thing with her other arm when Johnny slipped in on her other side. Duncan just settled himself on top of Simon, never having let go of his neck.
“G’night,” he mumbled, promptly falling back asleep.
Before long, they were all tumbling headlong into the Sandman’s embrace.
Just Soonyoung and Haneul things
Tumblr media
synopsis: just a compilation of hoshi and heaven's (oc) dynamic
a/n: will write a more detailed version of some of these in the future hehe. feel free to send in asks or thoughts !!
-----
SLOOOOW BURN. You wouldn't imagine the sigh of relief their members let out when they finally got together
The "He's shy and gets flustered easily while she's shameless and unintentionally makes him blush" trope.
First interacted when Heaven was an MC at a music show during his debut and she saw how nervous he was and cheered him on
She praised him when she saw seventeen do a cover of Dumb Dumb during their rookie days
Gets more interactions whenever they bump into each other at music shows and award shows
Became closer when Yeri and Chan became friends
Only got their numbers by the third year they've met each other
Began texting each other frequently ever since
Sends each other memes and words of encouragement
Soonyoung attempted to ask her on a date multiple times but he kept chickening out on the last minute
Wants to go on a date with him too but she saw interviews and videos where he says that he wants to focus on his career first
He does but he's also interested in her
Sees each other as friends but everyone knows they want it to be more
Yeri and Chan pulling their hair out over how much mutual pinning they have for each other
Heaven eventually tried giving up on him because she genuinely thought that all he wants to be is just friends and that she doesn't want to get in the way of his career plans so she started seeing other people
When Soonyoung finally got the courage to ask her on a date, she was already going on dates with someone else
Took him another while to get the courage
He also thought that maybe he doesn't really stand a chance so he just kept it to himself for at least another year.
Her and the guy eventually called it off. They both thought it wasn't going anywhere and that they're better off as friends. Their dating life ended in 2 months.
Soonyoung didn't know this though. By the 6th or 7th month since he found out he still thought they were dating because they had a good break up and are still civil with each other.
Only found out when Chan asked Yeri and Yeri clarified it for him.
Her feelings for Soonyoung were still there but she didn't know what to do with them.
Her feelings for him just increased when Red Velvet started touring for Redmare and they began texting again more frequently
Until Heaven couldn't take it anymore and decided to confess first
Confessed right after their tour ended when she asked him if they could go eat together somewhere because "she missed eating at Korean restaurants" when in reality she just wanted to see him
Hoshi was speechless. Literally. Couldn't get a word out when she confessed that she likes him.
She thought that she ruined the friendship. Scared for a moment because she thought he doesn't know how to reject her.
Then he asked "Are you for real? You aren't lying are you? Because I really want to kiss you right now and I can't do that if you're joking."
Didn't make it official until after Hoshi's Ode to You tour and La Rouge tour because they said that they might miss each other more once they did.
They just didn't have a label but they've actually been acting like it ever since the 1st date.
Yeri and Chan said that they deserve some credit for their love life
Something about them them being their bridge
Wonwoo and Joy were the first ones to find out. Best friend privileges
Seventeen and Red Velvet weren't surprised
They words, "It was bound to happen at some point" and "Finally! What took you guys so long?" were mentioned along the way
VERY CLINGY with one another
The kind of couple that everyone loathes because they're so cute all the time
But no one really hates them together because they're just so in love they just let it slide
Speaking of the L word. They didn't drop it until they became offical even though it was obviously there during the months they started seeing each other
They both don't have a dating ban so their managers and staff know
But they made them all swear that no one else should find out because they wanted to keep it a secret first and enjoy each other's company without the public knowing just yet.
Dropped subtle hints but the fans just thought they were being friendly TT_TT (they are more than friendly tbh)
Still very much in love after being together for almost 2 years.
When the news came out that someone leaked info on their relationship, it only made them stronger
Held onto each other for support
It made them nervous at first but they aren't afraid to talk about each other in public now
They will post each other on their instagrams and mentions the other in interviews, lives, and videos.
Fans want a collab but they're still thinking about it because working together as a couple might be difficult but they are open to the idea. Probably just a small collab, like a dance video or and song cover.
I love them so much, i love writing about them :<
Invited her for their Be The Sun Concert in Seoul
Carats freaked out when they realized that they were sitting next to Heaven
She was holding a caratbong and even has a Hoshi photocard chained to her bag 😭
Sang along to their fanchants
During one of their ments Seungkwan mentioned that there were a lot of special guests that attended. (there really was, my multifandom heart was so happy when I saw the list of everyone who attended)
Then the camera panned to Heaven who was minding her own business while watching the concert.
Her eyes grew wide when she realized she was on screen and she started waving her caratbong and greeted everyone with a bow
DIDN'T MISS THE CHANCE TO HORANGHAE WHEN THE CAMERA WAS ON HER
Hoshi was caught giggle into the mic and called her cute (in his defense he didn't notice that he was holding it that close to his lips)
The other members went WILD
Carats had a field day of teasing Hoshi for being extra energetic during the whole concert
Had special backstage privileges (of course)
Haneul could not let go of Soonyoung after the whole concert because she was just so proud of him
Lots of kisses and hugs backstage
Lots of teasing from the boys too
But they love their pair nonetheless
Haneul posted concert pictures on instagram and IG story. Captioned it "Seventeen is the best 🫶"
Went on bubble to gush about her boyfriend after the show
"Hi (y/n) how is everyone? I went to a concert tonight"
"Yes I went to see Be The Sun hehe"
"They're so cool"
"My seventeen bias is Wonwoo"
"Haha just kidding please don't tell Soonyoung he'll get sulky hehe"
Definitely missed him more when he began touring
But he didn't fail to send her updates every now and then
Can't Help Falling In Love With You Chapter 5
Masterpost
Midorima was debating wether he should ask you for you number. He had already confessed to you and given you a gift, asking you for your number should be the next step, right? You hadn't answered his feelings, but neither had you rejected him. That means you were okay with opening up to him, right? Midorima pondered endlessly. He didn't knew who he could ask for advice. Shinju was too young to have him ask her for girl advice, he was too embarassed to ask his parents and he knew Takao would tease him. His mind drifted to what Kise had said about Kuroko, that Momoi had a crush on him. It was true that Kuroko was more emotionally mature then most of the guys he knew, but should he really ask Kuroko for girl advice? Midorima honestly didn't wanted to. Which is why he sat outside like everyone else during lunch, eyeing you from a distance, unable to do something else but watch. He was annoyed with himself. Midorima drank his canned soup as he felt Ichijo's gaze on him. Damn it, had the intoxicated fool of all people caught on? It appeared so, as with he shook you and Midorima saw you looking his way. He tried not to become red as the two of you made eye contact. You smiled at him across the school grounds and Midorima's heart fluttered in his chest. See? That couldn't mean you were a closed book. You would allow him to approach you. But did Midorima have the courage to do so in the sea of students enjoying the sun? It's not like their opinion mattered to him, but he hated getting teased by his classmates. And your reputation did give them plenty of fuel. He really wished everyone could see you as the way he saw you, as someone who shouldn't be written off for having been born in the bad part of Tokyo. As someone who deserved to be given a chance. But people preferred to be blind when it was easier. As the two of you watched each other for a while, you broke eye contact and seemed to ask Ichijo something. He slowly produced a pencil and his notebook that Midorima bet contained only drabbles instead of notes, and you started writing, occasionally glancing up at him. His heart thumped in his chest. Were you writing him a letter? The thought made Midorima feel light-headed. Lunch, since the moment you started writing, became agonizingly slow for Midorima as anticipation build up in his veins. He waited and waited for te bell to ring and signal the end of lunch break. He lost count how often he had glimpsed the clock on his phone. When the bell finally rang, he sprang up almost giddily. He walked towards the hallway as you approached, handing him a note as you passed him by. Midorima felt as if he could faint at that very moment. He tucked it into his pocket right away as he rushed to his classroom. He knew he couldn't open it until after class, risk he'd get it confiscated by his teacher. Besides he preferred wanting to read your letter in the private confines of his bedroom, were no one's eyes could befall on those words meant only for him. And thus, he waited until he got home.
'Hi Midorima-san,
I see you're too nervous to approach me in public. If you wish to pursue me, then you should better be ready to face the music, as they say. Leave a note in my locker and please clarify to me if you wish to ask me out or if you had wished to keep to your feelings to ourself and that confessing them to me was a mistake on your part. I'll understand.
Sincerely, Y/n-san'
Prompt #17 - Pheromone Supervillain x Sentient Swarm Villain part 2
Tldr: Supervillain and Villain finally make and go on that amusement park date they planned. They start getting to know each other and the "quirks" they both have.
CW: Toxic behaviors, puking mention, possessive behaviors, implied stalking, bugs
Author's note: Supervillain and Villain both display some red flags in this story but both interpret them as romantic. They will be explored in future stories but I want to clarify that these shouldn't be romanticized in real life.
After Supervillain got home from the "bank robbery" they threw themselves on their huge pillow-covered bed and squealed into the closest one, legs kicking up behind them. It felt just like all of those dumb sappy movies that Supervillain had truly never cared for.
What was most surprising was that Supervillain had never been this giddy about anything in their life. Not when they planned their first heist. Not when they officially became a millionaire. Not even when their favorite cafe came back with their favorite seasonal item (Crab cake Eggs Benedict with an add-on of Strawberry french toast if you were so curious).
However, they now had a huge issue on their hands. What should they send Villain? What could they send them? This would be their first official text. This text sets the entire tone for whatever future relationship they have. It had to be perfect.
They spent each and everyday after their initial meeting pacing around their lofty mansion, often with a group of pheromone zombies to ramble to.
"But what do I even say to them? 'Hi, it's that Supervillain that interrupted your pen robbery. Wanna go to a theme park?' 'How are you doing today? Let's hang out.' 'How many bugs do you have and do you have a body?' all of them sound terrible!" Supervillain exclaimed in anguish.
Supervillain turned to making corkboards of texts and possible responses, eventually having a breakdown when one of them led to Villain breaking up with them. They could only be consoled with a cup of camomile tea, a warm blanket, the butterfly that they still had from Villain, and the first wink of sleep they had in 3 days.
Finally they had settled on a half decent text that read: "Hey, it's Supervillain. If you're still interested in going out I'm free this weekend. We could go to my amusement park?"
In total it took one week for Supervillain to gather the courage to text Villain back.
It took 10 minutes for Villain to respond.
In those 10 minutes Supervillain had already written away their future, believing that Villain would be tired and through with them. So when they heard that familiar ping of their smartphone their heart sank. They picked up the phone with shaky hands to read what would definitely be a rejection text.
"That sounds great! Count me in! See you Saturday?"
Supervillain felt their heart pound in their chest at those words. It was so stupid but the relief from hearing that was indescribable. They quickly replied back saying that sounded perfect.
Their next move was to get a gift for Villain, which they guessed was customary for dates. Luckily they had just the thing in mind and the perfect place to pick it up.
_________________
The weekend couldn't have come soon enough.
Supervillain and Villain had spent the week texting back and forth. Nothing raunchy or risque, just casual questions and conversation. Supervillain often apologized to Villain for their texting issues and asked them to let them know if they ever said anything weird, odd, or rude as they'd never texted anyone before.
Villain thought it was baffling that Supervillain had never texted before but also kind of cute. They remembered what it was like trying to relearn how to text after becoming a sentient insect swarm and even though their experiences were pretty different it was something they had in common.
Villain also found Supervillain to be more wholesome than creepy. From their first interaction Villain thought they'd be some mega creep that wanted feet pics or something. They didn't expect to be asked what their favorite color was or get into in-depth conversations about what cartoons they watched when they were younger.
By the time the weekend rolled around Villain felt shockingly comfortable climbing into the backseat of Supervillain's hot pink limousine which was pulled over on the side of some backwoods dead end dirt road.
On second thought maybe Supervillain was too comfortable going out to the middle of nowhere to pick up some scraggly looking bug Villain.
Either way it was a bit surprising to see Supervillain in the back of the limo lounging on several pillows. The way Supervillain's eyes lit up at the sight of Villain could have stifled Villain's heart. Well... If they had one anyways.
"I'm so delighted you accepted my offer. Come! We have much fun to be had!" Supervillain beamed, clapping their hands to signal the driver to step on it.
"You really do always talk like an Englishman gentleman huh." Villain bluntly stated. Supervillain only looked in confusion.
"Whatever do you mean my buzzy companion?" Supervillain asked genuinely.
"...nevermind." Villain decided on not pushing the subject figuring Supervillain was just like that. "Anyways, thanks for the invite. You know I've always wanted to try riding a rollercoaster."
"My pleasure. Though I find it hard to believe you've never ridden one before. You seem to be a thrill seeker through and through."
"I have ridden a coaster before, just not since the Event TM." They emphasize the TM with air quotes. "And you're one to talk, you've never texted anyone before me. Hard to do in today's time."
"You should feel flattered that I took the time out of my schedule to send you a text. I'm a very busy person you know and to hold my time is an honor."
"I could probably leap out of this car..." Villain teasingly said earning an abrupt "NO! I mean, nope nope, you couldn't just back out now. I mean you could but we're already nearly there and it'd be a shame for you to scrap your weekend plans."
Supervillain looked somewhere between embarrassed and ashamed at their outburst. Villain sighed and sat next to them.
"I'm sorry. I... I shouldn't have said something like that. Of course you're free to leave. You're always free to leave." Supervillain murmured, using their hand to block eye contact with Villain.
Villain felt bad because they only wanted to tease Supervillain a bit. They didn't expect them to take it that serious but at the same time they could kind of understand why they had that reaction.
Supervillain has never met someone who didn't fall victim to their pheromones. Not even their own parents. So to have someone they could actually talk to and have a conversation with was probably something they'd never done before. They'd probably never texted before because they had no one to text.
Supervillain was one of the strongest people in the city. Constantly surrounded by hordes of soldiers and servants. The center of attention anywhere they went. Was probably the loneliest person on this Earth.
It wouldn't excuse any excessive possessive behavior but to completely panic about the thought of the only person in the world you can talk to leaving made a bit more sense. Even if you'd only met a week ago.
Of course, being the blunt Villain they are they wanted to confront this whole thing head on.
"Attachment issues?" Villain asked.
Supervillain looked at them with a startled jolt before looking away again, shame burning against their cheeks.
Villain hesitated with their next move but went for it anyways. They took a deep breath before leaning against Supervillain. Supervillain flinched before becoming still.
"Don't worry too much about it. I have attachment issues too but they're a little different from yours." Villain pressed into their arm at the wrist, pushing until it was clear to Supervillain that a wrist could not be there. Interestingly enough the hand still moved, showing the bugs did functionally act as that hand/limb? at least.
Supervillain seemed a little snapped out of their mental boxing ring by sheer amazement at Villain's wrist, however when they realized Villain was looking back at them they quickly looked off to the side. At least it was an improvement to before.
Supervillain was about to say something but was beat to the punch by Villain.
"I just want to say I'm sorry too. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable but I definitely did. I have a bad habit of joking at inappropriate times and going a bit too far. It wasn't fair to you, especially because you invited me to come. I'll try to be better about not saying things like that but please let me know if I'm making you uncomfortable as well. I understand why you're probably interested in me and that you're still learning how to 'people' but I'll also let you know if you're being too much. Deal?"
Supervillain was stunned because people should run at the sight of red flags. Being a Supervillain is usually the biggest red flag but maybe it'd be ok. Maybe it'd be fine so long as they stuck to the deal. Supervillain leaned against Villain and nodded, agreeing to the deal.
"...thank you.."
"Enough about that! Tell me about your theme park! I want to know everything about it." Villain asked to move them past the subject.
Supervillain slowly started to come back around. Talking about the rides they designed and a couple fun facts about them. When they finally got to the park Supervillain seemed to be their usual self.
When they got out of the limo Supervillain excitedly ran inside the park practically carrying Villain with them (who happily went along for the ride, pun intended).
They went on the twirling cups first. Supervillain was the type to keep speeding up the cups and Villain refused to back down from the challenge. Both of them needed half an hour to stop their heads from spinning.
Next they went in the classic haunted house. Supervillain thought it'd be a great bonding experience (that might have led to Villain jumping in their arms) but instead Villain wandered farther along than expected and scared Supervillain when they rounded a corner. Villain couldn't deny the little 'eep' sound they made was kind of adorable.
Villain then dragged Supervillain over to the rollercoaster, insisting on riding it with them. Supervillain, who only had the coaster made to make more money and because it looked cool, accepted the offer with grace and dignity. Of course all of it flew out the window the moment they were staring down a 10 story drop.
Villain did their best to comfort Supervillain but as it turns out many insects cannot stand up to mach 3 speeds even when there is a thin layer of fabric keeping them in place.
The ride ended with Supervillain gripping the handle bars till their knuckles turned white and losing the battle to keep their food down while a small pile of bugs were clumped in the seat next to them, some landing on Supervillain due to their scent while others were trying to fly back to the end of the coaster to rebuild Villain.
Needless to say both of them refused to go on another coaster ever again.
After another 30 minutes when Villain reformed and Supervillain could safely move away from the nearest trashcan they sat down at a table to take a longer break and possibly order some food (if Supervillain's stomach stopped turning in knots).
"So... Having fun?" Supervillain nervously asked, sitting in front of the life-sized cutout of themselves that seemed to be scattered around the park. It seemed almost comedic that Supervillain was their own mascot for their theme park.
Villain looked up from their plate of nachos (which Supervillain was trying not to look at) and nodded with a firm "mhm!" making Supervillain grin.
"As much as I'd love to stay longer I think the park is getting ready to close." Supervillain announced while pointing at their watch.
"Don't you literally own the park? Couldn't you stay longer if you wanted?" Villain asked while a few locust started munching on their chips.
Supervillain bashfully looked away, once again trying not to let Villain see their reaction. Villain took a relatively clean chip and gently tossed it at Supervillain, earning a curt scoff from them. They mumbled their response under their breath.
"... I'm kind of tired and want to go home to sleep..." Supervillain answered. It was already 10:30pm so Villain understood. They took another chip and ate it while getting to their point.
"You can be honest with me dude, I don't bite. Don't feel bad for getting tired. Let's get going then." Villain started packing up their stuff before Supervillain stopped them.
"We don't have to go just yet... I think I can go on one more ride before we leave." Supervillain said now more confident.
Villain thought carefully before choosing what to do. They didn't want another dizzying ride or something that would send Supervillain into cardiac arrest. No, they had something in mind of a different variety that still might give Supervillain heart palpitations. They gently took Supervillain's hand and led them to one of the most popular rides in the park.
The tunnel of love.
They didn't even need to look back at Supervillain to know they were blushing like crazy.
The duo hopped in the first boat available and started the ride.
For the first few seconds Supervillain was clammed up and scooted themselves to the edge of the boat, scared to make a move towards Villain. Villain, who figured this might happen, reached into their bag and brought out a small stuffed animal. Supervillain's eyes grew wide at the sight of it and unconsciously reached out to hold it.
It was a silky soft bumblebee plush. They had a similar toy at the park but they were usually much cheaper and made poorer. Supervillain looked back up to Villain, hands still petting the plushie.
"Where did you get this?" Supervillain asked stunned.
"Made it from a toy I stole. I hope you like it!" Villain chirped back. Supervillain was completely starstruck, scooting back over to Villain to lean on them. To take something of Supervillain's, improve upon it, and give it back. Now that was something Supervillain could be smitten by.
Villain snapped them out of their thoughts by making a small "psst" noise.
"Hey, what are you going to name it?" Villain asked, the chirping of cicadas growing louder with what Supervillain assumed was their emotions.
"..Would Buzz be to generic of a name?" Supervillain responded while nuzzling against the toy. Villain laughed but shook their head no.
Supervillain looked down at the plush in their hands and back over to Villain before mustering the courage to give Villain a small peck on their beekeeping hat. They couldn't be too sure but they could have sworn they heard a surprised gasp from Villain.
They suddenly remembered they also had a gift for Villain. Supervillain elegantly reached into the breast pocket of their suit and pulled out a small package. Proudly they presented it to Villain.
Villain's hesitation registered to Supervillain as an eyebrow raise before taking the package and opening it. Supervillain had to bite their lip to stifle their laughter when Villain squealed in glee. Supervillain then had to try and keep the boat steady when Villain threw themselves in Supervillain's lap to give them a hug.
"Bank pens!! You remembered!" Villain cried while practically squeezing the life out of Supervillain. Supervillain concluded that they'd rather die than have Villain let go.
"It was the least I could do for my favorite Villain." Supervillain tried to state suavely with it sounding more choked out. Villain took the hint and immediately loosened their grip slightly disappointing Supervillain.
"I can't wait till our next date. It's my turn to take you out and I have just the place in mind." Villain said causing Supervillain's heart to do summersaults.
With that the ride came to an end and the two walked hand in hand out of the park. Supervillain had the driver take Villain back home and despite being saddened that they were parting they were also blissed out by the amazing day and promise of another date.
The door to the limo swung open sooner than Supervillain would have liked. Villain got out but turned around to say a few parting words.
"Can't wait till next time."
"Me neither."
"I'll text you to let you know when I have everything arranged but in the meantime I'm happy to keep helping you with your texting skills. Just make sure you don't have another breakdown over possible texts with me, alright? You don't need a corkboard when you can just ask me things."
Supervillain nodded, reaching out to kiss their gloved hand. Villain smiled (at least they assumed they did under the veil) before walking off into the forest.
Supervillain got halfway home before realizing they never told Villain about their week long panic or the corkboards. They then remembered how much they ranted to the butterfly that Villain left them.
Supervillain wasn't sure how they should feel about this development but enamored was probably not the answer.
Numerous days have flown by, and like clockwork Jane and Lali continue to meet every evening. With each passing day, their bond grows stronger, drawing them closer together. They take photos together and enjoy the beauty of the night, the sound of the train and laughing while sitting down beside the train station. Jane takes a photo of Lali while she's eating then Jane shows Lali the fanny picture of her, as soon as Lali sees it Jane suddenly runs away from Lali because she knows what Lali will do to her.
"Hey wait for meeee," Lali shouted to Jane, sounded like she's a little bit mad.
"Ohh she's kinda hot when she's in a bad mood," Jane said in her mind.
"She always went to the train station, I think she misses me," Lali said in her mind.
It's been 2 months since Lali and Jane met each other. Lali and Jane were stargazing by the lake, sitting on a bench, completely mesmerized by the twinkling stars above.
"Uhm, Miss Aswang?" Lali called out, breaking the peaceful silence.
"May I know your real name?" Lali asked and Jane looked at her curiously, wondering why she was so interested.
"Why do you want to know?" Jane replied.
"Oh, you know, just curious," Lali said, her eyes shining with innocent intrigue.
"Don't tell me you still don't trust me after all this time we've spent together?"Lali said with a sad tone. She couldn't help but she playfully teased her.
"Not yet," Jane said, enjoying Lali's reaction as her mouth hung open in disbelief. Jane grinned and finally decided to reveal her real name.
"Just kidding. I'm Jane Allyson Fierro, you can call me Jane, Jane Allyson Fierro," she repeated, as if savoring the name.
"A pretty name for a pretty girl like you," Lali
complimented with a warm smile.
"Last question! Why do I only see you
at night? Are you really an Aswang?" She asked with genuine curiosity. Jane couldn't resist being a bit dramatic and placed her
hand on her chest, pretending to be offended.
"How beautiful am I to become an Aswang?" Jane said acting like she's really offended.
"That's why I'm asking," Lali said while scratching her nape, not knowing what to say or do. Jane bitterly smiled and continued looking up at the stars.
"Remember the roses you always gave me?My boyfriend, ohh sorry correction my ex-boyfriend. He used to be the one who gives me roses every night. His name is Zack, he has a Xeroderma pigmentosum, " Jane started to explain.
"A condition that renders him dangerously sensitive to ultraviolet light," Jane said, hoping to help Lali understand. She could see the confusion in her eyes as she tried to grasp what Jane was saying..
"The sun hates him. He would surely die if he got exposed to sunlight and yeah he died because of the sunlight, he fought for his life since he was a child, we met at the train station and we used to stay there because the train station is our comfort zone. That's why, I love to stay there," Jane clarified and explained, trying to make her understand the severity of his condition.
"It's been almost a year since he died," Jane sadly said. While Jane was telling her the story of Zack, she saw a flower blooming near where she was sitting, then she suddenly remembered all the memories of what they have from the past, how they met each other and how they became lovers.
In 2013 while she was walking beside the train station she saw a boy singing while playing his guitar, she got closer to him and then she listened to him until he finished the song. As he finished the song Jane hurriedly approached him with a smile on her face saying hi to him and he replied.
"Hello, I'm Zack Manoban. And you are?" He excitedly said.
"I'm Jane Allyson Fierro, but you can call me Jane for short," Jane said happily. After that conversation they become closer to each other and Jane wonders why she only sees him at night time. While they were stargazing beside the train station, sitting on the bench, completely mesmerized by the twinkling stars above. She gathered her courage to ask him why.
"Zack can I ask a question? Why do I only see you at night?" Jane asked with a genuine curiosity. He chuckled and continued mesmerizing the stars in the sky.
"Xeroderma pigmentosum," he started to explain.
"A condition that renders me dangerously sensitive to ultraviolet light," he said, hoping to help Jane understand. As he sees the confusion in Jane's eyes.
"The sun hates me. There's a possibility-no, I would surely die if I get exposed to sunlight," he clarified, trying to make Jane comprehend the severity of his condition. As he glanced at Jane, he noticed her eyes getting watery.
"Im s-sorry-," Jane stuttered, feeling
remorseful.
"Hey, don't be sorry. It's not your fault, and I've learned to live with it," and he paused for a moment, locking his eyes with Jane.
"I don't want people to feel pity for me," he took a breath and glanced at his wristwatch.
"I have to go, see you again?" Zack said while smiling. Jane also smiled widely, nodding like an excited kid.
"Sure! Let's meet again, goodnight."
"Don't say goodnight, I hate goodnight " Zack said.
"Why do you hate saying goodnight," Jane curiously asked him.
"Well, for me, saying goodnight feels like saying goodbye, as if it's a forever goodbye, like a final farewell," Zack said with a sad tone.
"Don't say goodnight Zack," Jane said, like she was truly begging him.
"I can't promise," he shortly replied.
The next night, Jane is having a bad day because of some misunderstanding with her parents but shes going to their comfort zone to celebrate their 10th anniversary, Zack gave Jane his guitar and it makes her happy.
"You finally smiled," he happily said. Zack said
"You know that you're the only one that makes me happy," Jane cutely said to him and happily hugged him. Then after he broke their hug, he dragged Jane into the crowd and started to perform, playing his guitar and started singing the song titled Midnight Sun with a sweet voice of him. After that he walked closer to Jane and told her something.
"It's been 10 years since we met. And here we are again, at the train station, just watching the passersby. It might sound strange, but there's something oddly comforting about doing this together with you," he said sincerely.
"Aren't you going here tomorrow?" Jane asked, his eyes scanning the passersby. He shook his head.
"Nah, Dad wants me to take a three-day rest," he hummed, digging into his bag, and then said,
"Turn around," Jane obliged, wondering what he was up to. She felt his fingers gently move her hair aside as he put something around Jane's neck.
"A necklace, I guessed. Definitely a Zack thing to do," Jane said in her mind.
"Ta-da! There you go, it suits you perfectly," he said, beaming as Jane faced him again. His smile could light up the whole station.
"Wait, for me? It's not my birthday," Jane said like she didn't know why he was giving her a gift , but she appreciated the gesture.
"Yes it's yours, who said that gifts are only for a birthday? Wear it with pride," he said and Jane held the pendant of the necklace, tracing the delicate engravings. It was a silver heart with the word "Angel" in the center.
"It's beautiful, Zack. Thanks a lot" Jane said, genuinely touched. His eyes locked onto the necklace.
"It's exclusively for you, Jane. And whenever you miss me, just touch it, and know I'm right here in your heart," he said sweetly pointing Jane's heart.
"But still three days are so long, every time I can't see you, I feel so weak," Jane sadly said and acting like she feels really weak.
"Three days apart won't be that bad, Jane," he said with a grin.
"Three days is too many if you ask me," Jane retorted, playfully nudging him.
"I miss you already," Jane chuckled, thinking how lucky she is to have someone like Zack in her life.
"Well, I'll miss you too, my comfort person."
As the train arrived, they reluctantly said their goodbyes, promising to stay in touch during his three-day "exile" from the station. As he boarded the train, he looked back at Jane, waving at her.
"Good night, Jane!" He called out again infuriatingly playful tone.
"Hey, you told me that you hate goodnight. Don't say that ever again," Jane grumbled, trying not to let him tease her. He laughed, still waving his hand.
"That boy! Argh! Him and him teasing! Sometimes, Jane wondered if he did it just to get under her skin. When Jane got home she reached for her phone from her pocket to message him, she asked him if he already got home.
"Yes captain, it's late night already you should sleep now goodnight I love you," he replied.
"Yeah, I will. What? Goodnight, I'll hit you when we meet again." Jane said to her last message to Zack.
After 3 days Jane was now at the train station, waiting for him. She sat on the same spot where they used to hang out, a bench where you could see the dark sky above. There were few passersby, and Jane silently watched them, her mind filled with thoughts of Zack.
Jane looked at her wristwatch, it was already 1 AM, and he still hadn't arrived. She had texted him multiple times over the past two days, but there was no response. Panic and worry gnawed at Jane's heart, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong.
"Jane.." someone called out, pulling her from her anxious thoughts. It was James, Zack's close friend.
"Oh, hi James. Have you seen Zack? He's not responding to my texts," Jane said trying to hide her growing concern. James eyes were red and teary, and he held a small
paper bag tightly in his hands. Jane's heart clenched at the sight, sensing that whatever he was about to say would change her world forever.
"J-Jane, ammm.." James stuttered, his voice breaking as he struggled to find the right words.
"What is it, James? Please, just tell me," Jane pleaded, her heart is pounding with a mix of fear and dread.
"Zack is gone," he finally said, his voice filled with sorrow. The words hit Jane like a tidal wave, crashing into her soul with overwhelming force. The world around her
seemed to blur, and she couldn't comprehend what she had just heard.
"Zack, gone? It couldn't be true. Stop joking around. It's not a good joke," Jane retorted, her voice shaking as she tried to dismiss what James had just said.
"I wish I was joking. But I'm not" James replied, his eyes welling up with tears.
"If you don't believe me, you can search it up on the news. Jane's hands trembled as she reached for her phone and searched for any news about Zack. Her mind was frantic with worry and disbelief, but she had to know the truth. In an instant, she found an article with a picture of Zack. It felt as if a dagger had been thrust into her heart when she saw his face. The headline confirmed James words, and she could feel the world crumbling around her. Heartbreaking News: Zack Manoban the son of the famous company owner of LM Company Passes Away due to a kind of diseased Xeroderma pigmentosum on June 23, 2021.
"No... no, that can't be right" Jene choked out, her voice trembling with denial.
"He can't be gone." James tears fell freely now as he held Jane's hand in his, offering a little comfort he could.
"I'm so sorry, Jane. It's true. I wish it weren't, but it is. Zack... He's no longer with us," the weight of those words crushed Jane, and she felt like she couldn't breathe. Her mind raced with memories of Zack, his laughter, his warmth, and his love.
"How could he be gone? How could l go on without him?" Jane painfully said.
"The night, after your last meeting, he.. he ended his life, he sat down on the bench, your favorite spot and waited for the sun light to come up ," James explained with tearful eyes, his arms enveloping Jane in a comforting embrace. Jane cried and cried, feeling a profound sense of disbelief and devastation wash over her like a tidal wave. It was as if the ground beneath her had crumbled, leaving her in a void of despair. Gently, James broke their hug and handed Jane a paper bag.
"I think this is for you. I found it in his room," James said. With trembling hands, Jane took the paper bag and peered inside. A book lay within a diary. Summoning her last ounces of strength, she opened the diary to the first page, and immediately, his familiar handwriting greeted her tear-stained eyes. As she read his words, it felt like she was speaking to him from beyond the grave. Each page revealed his innermost thoughts and emotions, a raw and candid expression of his struggles and pain. Jane's heart ached as she realized that he had been fighting a silent battle, concealing his suffering from those who loved her most.
"Hello, my angel. I made this diary because of you, I don't know how to say goodbye in the end. But in this letter, I want to convey to you the depth of my love.
I hope it will erase the memories of pain and bad moments, and just remember the times when we were happy. You are my light, my strength in the middle of the storm, and our love is something that is most important for me. Jane, I want you to understand that I am not choosing this path because I don't love you or because I want to abandon you. This is not running away from you, but my giving up in a fight that seems to have no end. My soul is poor, and at these times, I simply prefer to escape the waves of sadness. May you not worry and find strength in the midst of my departure. Never blame yourself for what happened to me. There was nothing more you could have done. You gave me love, light, understanding, and support, and I will forever be grateful for that. Forgive me for leaving, for the pain you will feel. It may be that when I leave the question will appear in your heart, "Why?" I want you to know that the explanation seems elusive. The darkness is slowly engulfing me, the light you give is no longer enough. These words are not enough to form all the explanations, it's just that I'm really tired. I'm sorry, your loved one is really tired and exhausted. I'm getting weak and can't take it anymore to
hold on."
After Jane reading some of the content of his diary, Jane feels her body go numb, the opposite of what her heart feels.
"He's gone. Really gone," Jane said. She flips to the next page, and it reveals a picture of them. Each subsequent page details the days they spent together. The entries he wrote intensify the ache in her heart.
"The truth is that I still want to tell you a lot. I just don't have the courage. Our first meeting, that was a great moment in the dust of my life. When we first met, it was the night I was planning to give up on everything and end my life, but you caught my eye. I was performing on a chair, I held my guitar, and you listened to my tunes. It is not clear to me why, but your presence brought joy to my troubled heart. For a brief moment, the darkness is gone, only your light remains in my eyes. My only desire at first was a friendship. I felt the true joy every night we spent together. But, I never thought I would feel this for you. The emotions I've never felt from anyone else. You make me happy even when you are doing nothing. Just your simple breathing makes my heart feel better. I love you so much, Jane. It's funny to think that I only express my feelings in Writing. But, every word written here comes from the depths of my heart. I love you. Please don't mourn me for too long. Instead, use this moment to find strength in yourself and in the love we had. Live a life that makes you happy, knowing that my love will always be with you. You are the angel of my moment of life. I will be your angel from the afterlife. The necklace I gave you, that is your precaution because it symbolizes my love for you. Open the necklace. Thank you for everything Jane. Take care of yourself and find happiness. You deserve a life filled with love, joy, and all the beautiful things in this world has to offer. Cherish the memories we shared, and the relationship we had was genuine and profound. Those moments were the brightest in my life, and they will stay with me wherever I go. Good night, my angel.
Love you and will always love you: Zack Manoban."
After reading the last page of his heart-wrenching farewell, Jane clung tightly to the diary, embracing it as if it held a piece of his soul. The pain she feels right now is unparalleled, and it's as if her heart has been ripped apart. Struggling to compose herself, she takes a deep breath, trying to steady the tremors coursing through her body. It feels like she's suffocating, but she gathers her strength to reach for her necklace. With quivering hands, she unclaps the necklace and carefully opens it, revealing its precious contents. As she does so, the fragile fragments of her emotions shatter completely, scattering like dust in the air. There, within the locket, lies the first picture of them, the one
that captured the beginning of their journey together. As she unfolds the paper nestled inside the locket, a wave of trepidation washes over her, not knowing what to expect. Her heart races as she reads the words, and the pain intensifies, threatening to overwhelm her.
"Remember me by looking at the flowers. Bloom without me. Don't say goodnight my love." The message etched on the paper feels like a final farewell, a haunting whisper of his presence.
As she remembers her past with Zack, she didn't realize that she was already crying and suddenly shouted the name of her ex-boyfriend.
"Zack Manobannnnn. I really miss you and I love you for the rest of my life," Jane shouted at the sky. After Jane screamed, she remembered that she was with Lali. She looked at Lali and apologized.
"Ohh sorry, I just remembered the memories we built together, and how painful I felt when he died. When she suddenly noticed that Lali was also crying and struggling to breathe. She was confused and didn't know what to do. She calmed herself down and hurriedly asked for help from the people there to take Lali to the Hospital. After they arrived at the hospital, Lali was immediately taken to the emergency room and Jane was told to wait outside the emergency room.
After more than an hour, Lali's parents came and talked to Jane.
"The truth is Lali has heart disease and it's only been one year since she had heart surgery," Lali's mom hesitantly said to Jane. As Jane hears what Lali's mom said, she suddenly feels so weak as she remembers what happened to Zack back then. After that conversation, Jane decided to stay in Lali's room, she wanted to take care of her until she recovered.
Lali is the daughter of the business partner of Zack's parents, Lali's parents don't know about Jane and Zack's past relationship. Before Zack died, he told his parents to give his heart to someone in need, so that even though he was gone, his heart would continue to beat.
After a few days. Lali doesn't know what happened and where she is, she slowly opened her eyes.
"Where am I? am I in heaven?" She said as she only sees white like she's in heaven. Then suddenly someone called her name.
"Laliiii, what are you doing here? You need to go back, they're waiting for you," the man said whose face she couldn't quite see because of the light.
"You don't need to know who I am, you need to wake up. Take care of my heart as well as my beloved person. Don't say goodnight, okay?," that was the last words the man she saw in her dream said before she finally woke up. She actually dreams about this man every time she sleeps and this man always says the words "don't say goodnight". When she woke up, the angelic face of a lady appeared to her. As she noticed that Lali was already awake, she immediately moved away her face to Lali's face. After that she moved closer to Lali and hugged her like she didn't see her for a year. Lali asked her what happened the night they were together and how she ended up in the Hospital. Before she moved away from hugging her, Lali felt his tears running down her shoulder and she knew she was crying.
"While I was telling you a story about Zack, you suddenly started crying and you couldn't breathe. I don't know what to do anymore so I asked for help to take you to the hospital," she explained while she's still crying.
"Please don't leave me like Zack, since I met you I felt again how to live happily and I no longer think that my life is meaningless," she said that like she really doesn't want to lose Lali.
"I won't die, don't worry I will never say goodnight," Lali said and smiled at her, she could see the confusion on Jane's face.
"How did you know about saying goodnight?" She asked curiously but Lali changed the topic and she said that she's hungry, the truth is Lali doesn't know why she said those words. She knew to herself that she had to do something, she needed to know if Jane really had a connection with the person who gave her a second life.
After a few more weeks, she finally talked to the parents of her heart donor. She immediately meets Jane at the train station. As she sees Jane, she approaches her with excitement and nervousness.
"I already know the truth," she calmly said to Jane.
"Truth about what?" Jane asked curiously, like she wanted to know everything immediately.
"About my heart donor, I always dreamed about this man. He always says don't say goodnight Lali, before I woke up in the hospital I dreamed about him. He said that I shouldn't say goodnight and I should take care of his heart and especially his beloved person," Lali said with amazement in her face, while jane just listened silently and Lali continued speaking.
"My heart donor is Zack Manoban," Lali said, Jane was surprised by what she heard but she couldn't speak because Lali spoke again.
"I know, your ex-boyfriend Zack Manoban. I didn't know that he was my donor, my parents didn't tell me. He was my childhood friend, they didn't tell me because of my condition and it's not good for my health at that time. His the son of my parents business partner, the owner of LM Company," Lali added and as Jane heard all of the details she was convinced that Lali really has Zack's heart. Jane remained silent as Lali continued to speak.
"All the questions in my mind for almost 1 year, were gradually answered due to unexpected events or we were destined to meet. I was always wondering why I always go to the train station, it feels like I'm waiting for someone and when I saw you I suddenly came to you as if you were absorbing me like you were a magnet and like we've met before. There's something different about you that I can't explain, I'm happy when I'm with you," Lali explained to Jane.
"I, I can't believe it. How did all this happen?," Jane said, full of questions in her mind.
"I don't know either but I think we are destined to meet so that we can both heal the wounds from the past that we feel now," Lali said as if he was forming theories about their situation. Jane was already crying and Lali comforted her, because of what all Jane hears, she knows that Jane has a heavy heart at that time.
PURE [5] - Corpse Husband x Fem!Reader
A/N: It’s been a while.
part 1
part 2
part 3
part 4
PURE [5]
“Did you guys find anybody?” Felix’s voice sounded out when the man repeated the same question for what seemed like the third time since he joined the call. The number of players showed 7 of them, which meant that they were still missing three people. Sure, they could start the game now, but it would be way more enjoyable and funny with a full lobby.
“Yeah, Toast will be here any moment. “Sykkuno replied right away. “He just texted me; he should join us in a few.”
“Cool. Anyone else?”
“I think Corpse was also supposed to join us, right? Not sure though why he isn’t here yet.”
“Oh, yeah, Corpse will be here soon too!” Jack suddenly chimed in with an explanation. “He said he needed to take care of something first, but he’ll be here before we start.”
“Great. But that means we’re still one person short.” Felix hummed when Toast’s little astronaut appeared in the lobby “Hey Toast."
“Hey man.”
“Do you have anyone coming?”
“I’m afraid not. I asked MrBeast, but he’s busy, so...”
“Well then, we can just start when Corpse is here, and maybe we’ll find someone in the meantime?” Dave suggested, earning a few hums of approval from the other players.
“Yeah, I think that’s the best option...” Jack agreed. But then his voice blared out in everyone’s headphones with excitement. “Ha! Corpse is bringing someone!”
“Who?”
“I dunno, he just texted me he has one coming and that’s all.”
“Hm, all right. Let’s wait then.”
***
Corpse fidgeted with his phone, glancing between its screen and the chat in his stream. People were already asking countless questions, but rather than answering them, he was waiting for Y/N to call him. He was nervous - the girl still hadn’t commented on his request.
The idea to invite her to the lobby wasn’t spontaneous. In fact, he’d been thinking about it for quite some time now, but never found the courage to actually ask if she would like to join them for the game.
It’s been almost a month now since that memorable phone call. A month since Y/N last played with her friends; a month since she considerably reduced her social media usage.
Sure, she was still active on her youtube channel, but not as much as before the whole haters situation. No matter how hard she tried to just ignore them and simply continue her career, she just couldn’t. There were still these nagging thoughts at the back of her mind, reminding her of all those people and their comments, their messages. It seemed like a good idea to take a short break and sort everything out.
Her fans understood it. They were obviously sad that her videos weren’t as frequent as before, but everyone knew what the situation looked like and that Y/N needed some time for herself.
Her audience knew it, and so did her friends. Especially Corpse.
The man kept his word and talked to the girl whenever she wanted to. Which, in the end, was almost everyday. Although at the beginning their conversations mostly focused on her current problem and dealing with it, their topics broadened over the time.
At one point though, Y/N started worrying that maybe she’s annoying him with her so frequent calls. She thought that she shouldn’t bother him that much - even if talking to him was what really helped her cope with her problems. He already had enough on his plate, and sharing her own concerns with him suddenly seemed like a very selfish thing to do.
But she quickly realized how wrong she was for thinking like that. When one day she didn’t call, figuring out that she should stop troubling him with her own issues, she was very surprised when Corpse reached out to her himself. He expressed how worried he got when she didn’t call, and when she explained what was the reason, he spent the next fifteen minutes lecturing her that she should never think she’s bothering him.
From that day on, they talked every single day. And they talked about almost everything.
Corpse enjoyed their late night-talks more than anything. He liked to listen to Y/N talk about the things she finds exciting, her hobbies, and her dreams. Hell, she could talk about what she ate for breakfast, and he would still listen with interest.
And even though they haven’t seen each other in person, even though she still hasn’t seen his face, they managed to get really close during those past weeks. For an outside observer (who also didn’t have access to Twitter) they would seem like a couple of very good friends.
But not for Corpse.
He couldn’t pinpoint when exactly did it happen. They were talking one evening and Y/N was telling him about the TV series she had finished watching recently. He listened intently and watched as her facial expressions changed from excited to frustrated, as she was enumerating everything she liked and disliked about the series finale.
And then he suddenly got this weird feeling in the pit of his stomach, and simply couldn’t take his eyes off her.
He tried to play it off and act as if nothing changed, but he couldn’t stop his heart from doing backflips whenever she laughed at one of his dumb jokes or called him partner. It was still a running joke between them and among the group of their friends, but there was something in the way she said it that made him instantly smile like an idiot.
He also started paying more attention to the hashtags on Twitter and Instagram. #PartnersInCrime was still rather popular, even though it was a month since anyone last used this phrase on stream. Corpse also found out that #Y/Nforthebride was trending for some time; he even managed to stumble across a few fanarts.
There was this urge to send them to Y/N, but he was too nervous that it would make things awkward between them... After all, he didn’t know how she felt about that whole shipping thing.
That’s why he decided to just leave things between them as they are, and be happy that he’s at least her friend.
Corpse nearly jumped out of his skin, when he was brought back to reality by the sound of an upcoming FaceTime call. Y/N’s photo appeared on his screen, her smiley face which he had assigned as her contact photo. His lips corners curled up in a smile almost unwittingly.
“Hey Y/N/N” he said after answering the call.
“Hi Corpse” she smiled softly upon hearing his voice. Although the screen on her side was dark, she didn’t mind not seeing Corpse’s face. She respected his wish to remain faceless and enjoyed their conversations anyway.
“Whatcha doin’?”
“Just editing the new video. I guess I’ll upload it in the morning... but I’m not sure yet.”
“Well let me know then, I wanna be the first one to see it.”
“Sure thing, Corpse” she chuckled, lowering her gaze bashfully. Corpse just looked at her face for a moment, unable to stop smiling to himself. Then he remembered why they were talking in the first place.
“So... have you seen my text?” Y/N sighed at his question but nodded her head slowly. “And what do you think?”
“I don’t know, Corpse...” she ran a hand through her hair in a nervous gesture. “...if that’s a good idea, I mean.”
“Well, it’s been a while. No pressure though, if you don’t wanna play then it’s totally fine.” he quickly clarified. “I just thought it would be fun if you joined us, even if just for a moment. I’m sure everyone would go crazy.”
Her smile widened slightly at his words, but she still didn’t look convinced. Sure, it was tempting to join them. She wanted to do it each time Sean or Felix bombarded her with messages and codes to the lobby, both inviting her to join the group in the game. But then she remembered how people reacted to her appearance in their streams... and suddenly it didn’t seem like such a good idea anymore.
“We’re gonna play on Polus...” he added after a moment when she still didn’t say anything. “That one map with the planetary base... there’s a lava pit, y’know. Just saying...”
She laughed wholeheartedly at his words, remembering their last game when Corpse jumped into the lava for her.
“Sykkuno’s gonna be there as well” Corpse continued. “And I promise I won’t kill you this time.”
“Even if I’m the last player alive?” she joked.
“Even then, Y/N.”
Corpse stifled a laugh, as she cocked her head to the side and narrowed her eyes slightly as if trying to spot him in the darkness.
“Are you streaming, Corpse?” she then asked.
“Not yet. I’m gonna start the stream as soon as you say yes, though.”
“Oh c’mon” she laughed at his words “That’s emotional blackmail!”
“Maybe. Is it working?” he asked.
Y/N let out a heavy breath and ran a hand down her face. Corpse watched in anticipation as she seemed to have some internal battle with herself. He hoped that she’s gonna agree, he really missed playing with her.
“All right, then.” she suddenly said, and his breath hitched in his throat. “I’m gonna stay for a few rounds I guess...”
“Wait, really?” he asked, a smile on his face only widening.
“Well, yeah, partner.” she replied, which made his cheeks go warm “Your imposter techniques haven’t been very effective lately... Someone needs to help you out, or you’re gonna lose your title of the king of the Imposters.”
“Oh, is that’s how it is now?” he laughed in fake shock. “I wouldn’t have to worry about losing the title if my accomplice hadn’t left me all alone!”
“All right, all right.” she giggled at his accusations. “Your accomplice is on her way to support you.”
Corpse smiled even wider at the sound of her laughter. Her eyes shined with happiness when she was giggling, which only brought out their E/C color. The fact that his stupid babbling was the reason for her smile was making him feel extremely proud of himself.
“But just so you know... I still have no idea how this map works, so I’m afraid I’m gonna need you to guide me around it...”
“Y’know you could as well just say you want to hang out with me...”
“Corpse!” she laughed, her cheeks blushing in embarrassment.
“Just kidding Y/N” he chuckled at her reaction. “Of course I’m gonna guide you, don’t worry.”
“Okay then...” she said after a moment, looking at the screen again. “I’ll be there in a few minutes. Will you send me the code, please?”
“Sure I will, Y/N”
“Okay. See you later, partner” she smiled brightly.
“See you, partner.”
When Y/N ended the call, Corpse let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He sighed in relief and ran a hand through his hair, before moving to sit behind his desk.
It was only after he started the stream that he realized he was blushing. Not only because Y/N would join them, but because there was also another thing he wanted to ask her about, but didn’t find the courage to yet...
***
By the time Y/N turned on her computer and started the game, Corpse has already sent her the code, and there was a Discord invite waiting for her as well. She bit her lip nervously as her heartbeat quickened.
Was she nervous? As hell.
She did everything she could to avoid being in unnecessary spotlight since she started receiving those hate messages. Perhaps escaping the problem wasn’t the best solution, but it definitely was a comfortable one. People wouldn’t have a reason to hate on her if she disappeared.
But then she couldn’t say no to Corpse. And truth to be said - she really missed playing with her friends. From what she’d seen on Twitter, the lobby would be filled with those she’d already played with, so she wasn’t that nervous before the game. What she was nervous about though, was how people would react.
Accepting Corpse’s request was something she did due to the sudden rush of courage. And now there was no coming back.
She knew Corpse would understand if she changed her mind... but she heard how excited he was when she had agreed. She couldn’t do it to him.
So, once she’d taken a deep breath and put her headphones on, Y/N accepted the invite and braced herself for the inevitable chaos that was bound to take place in the call. She decided to wait with joining the lobby though - at least until they realize she’s with them.
“..the fuck you’re talking about?!” Felix’s voice was the first thing she heard, which made her roll her eyes with a smile. “It’s not my fault I sound like that! At least I don’t have a liar voice like Rae!”
“HEY!” the girl yelled “I don’t have a liar voice!”
“You do, you’re using it even now!” Jack argued, much to Rae’s dismay.
“What is going on here” Corpse’s deep voice sounded out suddenly.
“Oh, you’re here! Finally” Sykkuno immediately welcomed him with his always happy voice.
“Yeah, sorry that I’m late guys.”
“No worries, man” Pewdiepie spoke up again. “We were just talking about playing the voice card and that you’re basically the only one who can do it.”
“Not fair at all!” Rae chimed in, making Corpse chuckle.
“The voice card...” he hummed after a moment, before adding. “I wouldn’t really say I’m the only one though...”
“Well who else then? Everyone else either starts laughing or have a liar voice” Dave asked, and Rae scoffed at the last words.
“Well what about my guest?”
Y/N inhaled sharply, realizing that now she should probably reveal herself.
“Oh, right! Who you’re bringing man?” Sean asked with curiosity.
That’s when Y/N typed in the game code, and her white astronaut appeared in the lobby.
“Wait, who’s- HOLY SHIT” Sean all but yelled, when realization hit him. Y/N laughed loudly at his reaction, and her voice only seemed to prove to everyone that she really was there.
“KIDDO WHAT THE FUCK” Felix reflected Jack’s response, yelling over his friend.
“Oh my god, hi!”
“What a surprise!” Y/N managed to catch Sykkuno’s words. “It’s so amazing to have you here, Y/N/N!”
“As I live and breathe.” another voice spoke up, and Toast’s little astronaut came face to face with her white bean. “My lifelong nemesis. Back here snap my neck again, huh?”
“Yeah, happy to hear you too, Toast” Y/N giggled at his words, then she adressed the whole group. “Hi guys.”
“Okay I did not expect that in the slightest” Sean laughed happily “You’re here kiddo!”
“I am” she smiled from ear to ear, even though they couldn’t see her.
“Wait- Corpse, is that the thing you had to take care of?” her best friend asked Corpse with suspicious voice.
“Well...” he trailed off and cleared his throat, making everyone laugh.
“That’s so great Y/N! We missed you so much!” Rae thundered over the bickering of the boys. “The game hasn’t been the same without you...”
“Agreed. I suddenly stopped dying.” Toast commented, making her roll her eyes with a laugh.
“I don’t know if I should be happy or fucking scared right now.” Felix laughed nervously. “With Corpse and Y/N? We’re fucked now, guys.”
“I promise I’ll go easy on you, I haven’t played in so long I think I forgot all my strategies...”
“Yeah, sure.” Toast’s forever suspicious voice made her smile wider. “Just don’t kill me in the first roung, okay? I won’t vote you off just stay the fuck away from me you little murderer.”
“Okay, I promise I won’t kill you...”
She couldn’t stop herself from laughing, and the smile remained on her face even when they started the game. It only seemed to widen, when she saw the sign Imposter on her screen.
Only to giggle hysterically when she realized that Toast was the other imposter...
And so the game went on with Y/N and Toast cooperating like perfect serial killers. Corpse did as he promised and guided her through the map, both of them being closely followed by Sykkuno. Because of that she’d just sabotage the map most of the time to give Toast opportunities to kill their friends, but eventually managed to sneak out when her two fellow crewmates were doing their tasks. It just so happen that Pewds was walking past her, and she might’ve accidentally snapped his neck...
“Goddamnit! I knew it! I fucking knew it was you!” Sean yelled once the game was over and Y/N saw the sign VICTORY on her screen, her small character standing next to Toast’s one. He was ejected at some point because Poki managed to walk in on him killing Rae, but Y/N remained undetected until the very end. Perhaps the fact that Corpse was one of the two crewmates who were left alive had something to do wtih it...
“That was rude” Pewds said in a whiny voice, clearly referring to their encounter which led to his death. “I was just happily walking around, doing my tasks like a good crewmate, and then boom! Y/N happened”
“I would say I’m sorry... but I’m really not” she laughed, making Felix gasp in shock.
“That’s what happens when you work with Toast!”
“Good game, Y/N. That was amazing” the man in question said appreciatively.
“Will you finally forgive me for killing you that one time if I say that being imposters with you was cool?” she laughed nervously.
“Actually... Yeah, I guess we can bury the hatchet now. AND we should team up more in the future.”
“Great!”
“Excuse me, what?” Corpse’s voice made the whole lobby laugh. “I don’t remember us cancelling our partnership, Y/N.”
“Corpse...”
“Are you trying to steal my accomplice from me Toast?”
“Well she’s a great partner in crime after all...” Toast deliberately used the phrase, making Corpse gasp.
“Hey! She’s my partner! Find yourself your own, Toast” Corpse joked, making Y/N laugh bashfully, her cheeks warming up at his words.
“Yeah yeah, I remember, don’t worry man. No one’s gonna take your partner in crime away from you...” Toast’s teasing voice made them all laugh, Corpse and Y/N included.
For the next few rounds Y/N played as a crewmate, running around the map with either Corpse or Sykkuno and doing her tasks. During meetings they joked and laughed, and for a moment, she stopped thinking about what people watching her friend’s streams might think about her presence. After all, there was at least a small chance that they didn’t think about it at all, and simply enjoyed watching their favoirte youtubers. Just as she enjoyed playing with her friends.
Oh, and by the way, Corpse kept his promise and didn’t kill her even when she was the last player alive...
It was soon time when everyone started slowly leaving the lobby, having played for over three hours. Y/N also said her goodbyes to the others and promised that she’d join them to play a game called Raft next week.
When she turned her computer off and threw herself on her bed, Y/N immediately grabbed her phone to call Corpse. He answered right away.
“Well hello, partner...” she rolled her eyes with a smile when he accented the last word. “Or should I say, traitor, instead?”
“Corpse... you know I would never betray you...”
“Well how can I be so sure, now that I know how cool it is to be imposters with Toast?” she knew he was joking, she could almost hear the smile in his voice.
“Not nearly as cool as it is with you, Corpse” Y/N grinned from ear to ear when Corpse scoffed.
“I spare your life so many times and that’s what I get in return? You cheat on me with Toast?” he said in disbelief “I’m disappointed, Y/N, I really am.”
“I would never!” she laughed through her words, even though her cheeks were now red because of Corpse’s words. “You’re the best partner in crime, Corpse, I wouldn’t trade you for anyone else!”
Not only in the game, she thought.
“Hmm, alright. Let’s say I believe you.” he said after a moment of thinking.
“I mean it, Corpse...” Y/N said after calming down from her laughter. “I... I really wanted to thank you.”
“Thank me? For what?” he asked, genuinely surprised.
“Well, first of all for inviting me to today’s game... I really had lots of fun, it was great to play and talk with the others. And I wouldn’t be in the lobby if not for you...” Y/N mumbled, before verbalizing her previous thoughts. “And I also wanted to thank you for just... you know... being my friend. My real life partner in crime. I just wanted you to know I’m really glad I met you...”
Corpse was silent for a good few moments, and Y/N started panicking that maybe she said something wrong, or maybe he found her spontaneous confession funny, or worse, dumb. She was almost ready to somehow laugh it all off, when his voice cut her off.
“Thank you, Y/N. It really means a lot to me too.” he sounded like he had some troubles with speaking, which made Y/N furrow her brows in worry.
“Is everything okay, Corpse?”
“Yeah, I...” he stuttered, then laughed nervously. “I just didn’t expect that and... yeah. It’s not something I hear on a daily basis, especially from someone like you.”
Someone like me?
 “But what you said... it’s mutual.” he said after a moment, and Y/N couldn’t stop herself from grinning like an idiot. “You’re the best partner in crime I could ask for. And not only in the game.”
She could as well just pass out there and there...
“So uhm... there was one thing I wanted to ask you...”
“Yeah?”
“I was wondering if maybe... you know, if you’d have some time... and if you’d want to of course... would you maybe like to visit me here in San Diego?”
Yeah, passing out seems like a good idea.
What He Doesn't Know Won't Hurt Him
Pairing: Loki x Stark!Reader
Summary: You and Loki had been doing a fairly decent job at keeping your relationship a secret from the other members of the team, specifically your father. But what happens when word finally gets out?
Word Count: 4,480
Warnings: fluff, implied smut, angst
a/n: This gif, that is all
Tumblr media
You had your music playing at full volume as you worked your way around the lab, your latest suit laid out on the table. It was almost finished and you were more than impressed with how it had turned out.
Grabbing one of the many tools strewn out on the tabletop, you got to work assuring each circuit was in place.
It was fair to say that whilst you were in one of your zones, you could easily get lost in your work. Which was probably the reasons you hadn't noticed Loki make his way into the lab.
You jumped slightly when two slender arms wrapped around your middle. “Loki,” you scolded, not taking your eyes away from your work. “I'm busy.”
He chuckled. “I can see that, dove,” he purred. “But I'm bored.”
“You're welcome to stay here as long as you stay out of my way,” you offered, smirking when Loki rose his hands innocently.
“You won't even know I'm here.”
You managed to steal five minutes of peace. And then Loki's ability to sit still and not cause trouble seemed to reach its end. He started simply, standing ridiculously close, running his hand along your side. Your frustrated sigh and visible struggle to focus on your suit only egged him on. He re-positioned himself behind you, hands resting on your hips and lips finding your neck.
When one of his hands began to trace down your stomach and towards the waistband of your jeans you drew the line.
“Loki, stop.” you chided urgently. “Not here.”
“Why not?” he asked, nipping at the exposed skin of your neck. “It's as good a place as any.”
“Someone could see,” you pressed on.
Loki’s kissing ceased but he didn't remove his arms from around you. If anything he held you tighter.
“And would that be such a bad thing?” he asked after a beat of silence. You sighed and turned in his arms, now facing the god. His eyes said it all, he wasn't hurt, but he was tired of keeping up this charade.
He hated having to wait till you were both alone to show his affection, having to settle for stolen kisses and subtle glances all in an attempt to keep your relationship a secret from the rest of the team. Loki was growing sick of it. He wanted to hold you, kiss you, mark you, to show everyone you belonged to him. He hated having to hide his feelings as if they weren’t acceptable.
“Loki, we've talked about this. If the team finds out, especially my dad, it'll cause nothing but trouble.” You frowned at Loki's defeated expression. “I want to tell them, I do. I love you and I want everyone to know that. But only when the time is right.”
Loki nodded, a smile tugging at his lips. Slender fingers wrapping around your wrist and he placed a kiss to your hand. “As you wish, darling.”
Loki turned to leave but you gently grasped hold of his sleeve and tugged him back. “Where do you think you're going?”
Loki tilted his head. “You said-”
“I said I wasn't ready to tell them,” you clarified. “I never said anything about you leaving.”
A devilish smirked spread across Loki's lips as he stepped back towards you, hands grasping your waist. “Why of course, my dear.” He pushed you against the cool steel of the table. “How may I be of service to you?”
You pulled him into a hungry kiss and he practically moaned into your mouth. Grasping hold of your thighs, he hoisted you up onto the table and slotted himself snugly between your legs. Truth be told, this wasn't what you had in mind. You were serious when you said the lab wasn't a good place to start something but Loki was just too irresistible. His kisses trailed from your jaw down your neck and you couldn't help the whimper that left your lips as he sucked on the sweet spot just above your collar bone.
Your hand tangled in his raven hair and he laughed breathlessly against your skin as he pulled you closer to him. “That's it, pet.”
The sudden sound of someone clearing their throat caused both of you to almost jump out of your skin. You turned towards the lab door and found a rather unimpressed Natasha standing in the threshold, arms crossed and glare seething into a certain god.
Your heart jumped into your throat as you hurriedly pushed Loki away and scrambled to your feet.
“Oh, no. Don't stop on my account,” Nat snarled and the venom in her tone was enough to send shivers down even Loki's spine.
“Nat! We were just-”
“Don't bullshit me, Y/N. You know it doesn't work,” Nat stated plainly and you swallowed. She was right, it was near impossible to successfully lie to her. “Does your father know?”
“No, no, no. Nat, you can't tell him,” you begged. “He'll kill us.”
Natasha scoffed, pointing an accusing finger at Loki, who was still standing sheepishly behind you. “He's lucky I haven't killed him myself.”
Loki shifted uncomfortably. When it came down to it, he was a god and Nat was human. She probably couldn't do much damage to him. But she was certainly intimidating. Loki wasn't so much upset over the fact that you'd been caught, if anything Loki found it rather exciting. His only worry was how this situation would pan out for you. And your relationship.
“Natasha, please. You know how my dad overreacts.”
“I'm not sure I'd count ‘getting pissed that your daughter's dating a criminal’ as overreacting.”
You felt helpless. With Tony as your father, the team were the closest thing you had to family. Nat had always been important to you, she was an older sister, a cool aunt and in some cases, a understanding mother all rolled up into one. She wanted what was best for you, and you knew if that meant throwing Loki under the bus, she wouldn't hesitate.
Noticing your struggle, Loki decided to intervene.
“Agent Romanoff, if you'd allow us to explain. I-”
Nat turned to Loki with a glare that stopped the god mid-sentence. “I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to Y/N.” She turned back to you. “Tell your dad.”
“What?!”
“Tell Tony about this.” She clarified, gesturing between you and Loki. “Or I will.”
“Nat,” you started but as she raised an eyebrow you knew she wasn't bluffing. She was dead serious.
“Okay, okay, fine. We'll tell him. But just not yet-” you hesitated. “Just give us a little more time to figure it all out.”
Natasha seemed unconvinced, to say the least, but when she noticed the genuine worry in your expression she backed off and her voice softened.
“Fine. But if he finds out beforehand, I had no idea about any of this,” she ordered. “And you,” Nat glanced at Loki who was still standing behind you. “Are on thin ice.”
Nat turned to leave, shooting one final glare Loki’s way. “Oh, and a bit of advice. Next time lock the goddamn door.”
You both sighed in temporary relief as the door slammed shut and you were left alone.
“Well, that went well,” Loki commented sarcastically, rubbing at his temple.
“And that was only Nat. How do you think the others are going to react?” You took a seat on the workbench and Loki joined you.
“Were you serious?” he asked. “About telling them? Telling him?”
You sighed, dropping your head into your hands. “I suppose we don't have much of a choice now, do we?” You murmured and Loki chuckled slightly.
“I suppose not.”
“You're enjoying this.” You growled as Loki’s mood seemed only slightly diminished by the situation you’d just been landed in.
“Yes, I find being threatened by a world-class assassin immensely enjoyable,” he noted nonchalantly. Loki sighed when the fear remained evident in your expression. He gently caught your wrist and pulled it away from your face, lacing your fingers as he did so. “Honestly, my dear. There's no need to worry. It will be fine.”
“You sound awfully sure.”
“That’s because I am,” Loki smirked, his tone reassuring and soft. He placed a harmless kiss against your cheek, but couldn’t resist the urge to continue down to your jaw.
His nose grazed your neck as his breath fanned out over your skin. His voice fell to a low whisper. “Now, what was it we were getting to before we were so rudely interrupted?”
You couldn’t help but laugh in slight disbelief. “You never learn, do you?”
Loki flicked his wrist as he began to plant kisses down your neck. “Do you take me for a fool?”
 You glanced at the labs' door to find the keypad had turned red. Locked. Smirking, Loki pushed you down and picked up where he'd left off.
Tumblr media
It had been a little over a week since Natasha had found out about your relationship with Loki and thankfully, she hadn't said anything as of yet. She was giving you a generous amount of time to build up the courage to tell both your father and the rest of the team, but it was courage you were yet to find. The stress of the whole situation had been getting to you, something that was becoming more and more apparent to Loki.
In some desperate attempt to help you blow off a little steam, the god had dragged you down to the training hall. You and Loki often trained together, though since the beginning of your relationship, training seldom actually took place during your sessions.
But you needed it today, and after less than fifteen minutes of sparring, you could already feel some of the stress dissipating.
“Let's try that again,” Loki stated, helping you up from where you'd fallen back onto the training mat. He steadied you before pacing back a few steps as you both prepared for another round.
You made the first move, Loki easily blocking your strike. He caught your other arm as you tried to hit his shoulder and he only barely avoided a knee in the groin by spinning you around and catching you in a gentle headlock.
“Fighting dirty today are we, darling?” He purred in your ear and you smirked. Leaning forward, you used the momentum to throw Loki over your shoulder, straddling him to assure he stayed down.
“Problem with that?”
Loki chuckled, staring up at you. “Certainly not.” Throwing his leg over and shifting his weight, he threw you off of him and you landed on the floor beside him. He then took up his position on top of you. “Two can play at that game.”
He used his new vantage point to lean down and kiss your shoulder. “And I do enjoy it so very much.”
You turned your head to the side to grant Loki better access as he kissed up your neck, but your blood ran cold when you noticed a familiar figure standing dumbstruck at the halls entrance.
“Shit, Steve!” You pushed Loki off of you and for a moment he thought it was an attempted diversion until his own eyes locked with the captains. “Steve, wait!”
He was already turning to leave and you took off after him, Loki right behind you. You barely caught him before he reached the door. “Steve, hear us out, please.”
He turned to look at you with slight disappointment, his cheeks still tinted red with embarrassment given what he'd just walked in on. “Why didn't you tell us, Y/N?”
“I swear I was going to. I should have sooner and I'm sorry.” You rushed. “But please, Steve. You can't tell my dad, not yet.”
Steve hesitated. He'd taken you under his wing from day one and he'd be lying if he said he saw you as anything less than family. He didn't want to put you in a situation where he knew you'd face hardship. But he also didn't want to put his relationship with Tony on the line. He knew what that could lead to.
“I won't lie to Tony.”
“Then just don't say anything!” You tried. “Not saying anything technically isn't lying.”
Steve sighed, glancing between you both, his eyes lingering on Loki a moment longer. Loki seemed to have read the captains mind.
“Captain, I understand your concerns. But I can assure you my intentions are completely good-willed.”
Steve shook his head, questioning his sanity. “Does anyone else know?”
“Natasha, that's it.”
Steve seriously pondered the dilemma he was being faced with. Part of him wanted to march off and tell Tony, part of him wanted to strangle Loki for even putting his hands on you and the other part was still hung up on how upset you’d be if he chose either of the latter options.
“Alright,” Steve said after a moment of silence and relief flooded your expression. “But if your father asks-”
“I understand.” You nodded, still breathing a sigh of relief. “Thank you, Steve.”
You counted your lucky stars as Steve left the training hall, the whole conversation having gone way better than you could have possibly imagined.
“You know, my dear,” Loki stated from behind you. “We really must stop picking the worst possible places in the compound to make out.”
Tumblr media
You'd been peacefully working away in the lab, adding the finishing touches to the suit you'd been working on. A few more final touch-ups and a test run and it would be ready for missions.
The door slamming opened behind you immediately caught your attention as a severely pissed off Loki stormed in. His jaw was set and his hands were balled into fists. This couldn't be good.
“Loki, what's wrong?” you asked, rounding the table and approaching him. He was already pacing.
“Thor knows,” he growled and your heart stopped. “He was asking ridiculous questions about you and I and he knew I was lying.”
You inhaled sharply and did your best to avoid groaning in frustration, unable to grasp how Loki of all people had gotten caught out lying. “Loki, you're the god of lies.”
“And Thor's a persistent bastard!” He bit back.
You grappled with the little composure you had left and sighed. Loki was still clearly fretting and at least one of you had to start thinking straight.
“Okay, well what did he say?”
“That he wouldn't tell anyone,” Loki murmured, running his index finger along his top lip, something he often did when nervous.
“Alright then, what are we worried about? He said he wouldn't tell.”
Loki scoffed. “It's Thor! He struggles to keep the simplest of secrets, he's going to let it slip!” Loki took a seat and wrung his hands. “Your father is going to kill me.”
You stepped towards him and ran a comforting hand through his raven hair. He sighed and wrapped his arms around your waist, resting his head against your stomach.
“You're a god, Loki. I don't think he could kill you even if he wanted to.”
“He'll find a way,” Loki moped, tightening his hold on you.
You huffed at Loki's dramatic antiques as you continued to run your hand through his hair. One thing was now painfully clear, you needed to tell your dad. Before anyone else found out.
Tumblr media
It was all planned out perfectly. The team was set to have dinner together in an attempt to bring some normality to your crazy lives, and you figured it would be the best time to break the new. You'd wait until everyone had finished eating and you and your dad were alone and then you'd tell him.
Not only did you think it would be better to have the conversation one on one, but Loki not being there also lessened the likely hood of your father trying to kill him if he didn't take the news kindly.
The only major challenge now was making it through the dinner itself without losing your nerve. Loki assured you that he'd be by your side right up until the moment he had to leave, and he meant it. Your father sat at the head of the table, because of course he did, and you sat to his right. Loki was seated beside you.
Most of the dinner passed as they usually did when the team ate together. Clint complained about the take out choice, Nat downed an impressive amount of wine whilst somehow remaining sober and a philosophical debate had broken out despite their being no indication as to what had started it.
For once, you and Loki remained silent, too nervous to offer any input should your worrisome tone give you away. You had spent most of the dinner toying with the food on your plate with your fork.
Loki's hand gently held yours beneath the table. It was risky, but no one had noticed and it was currently the only thing keeping you sane.
“You alright, kiddo?”
You glanced up to find your dad staring at you. He motioned to your untouched plate of food.
“You haven't touched your take out. It's your favourite.”
“Oh yeah, I- uh,” you stumbled over your own words and cursed yourself for being caught off guard. Most of the team were still chatting amongst themselves, but Steve and Natasha were now watching the exchange between you and Tony attentively. “I guess I'm just not that hungry.”
He seemed entirely unconvinced and leaned in slightly, away from the prying ears of the table. “You sure everything's alright?”
You gulped. Your father was no idiot and he knew something was eating away at you. From the corner of your eye, you could see Nat nodding her head and Steve smiling supportively. This was the perfect opportunity to bring it up and you decided it was now or never. “Well, actually-”
“Nice going, Clint!”
Both your heads snapped up to see that a knocked over wine bottle had stained both the end of the table and Bruce's white shirt.
“Hey! It's not my fault. Who even drinks this stuff anyway?!”
“What the hell is that suppose to mean, bird brain?” Sam yelled, possessively grabbing what was left in the overturned bottle and dunking it into his glass. Bucky hid his smile behind his bottle of beer.
Everyone else's attention had turned to Bruce, who seemed to be doing an excellent job at not hulking out and sending Clint through the nearest wall.
You bit your lip.
“Dad, is it alright if I leave? I'm not feeling up to eating right now.” You asked. Now clearly wasn't the best time to bring something up and you decided waiting till after everyone had turned it in for the night was probably best.
“Sure thing, sweet pea,” he smiled as you stood and pushed in your chair behind you. Loki followed you, rising to his feet.
“I think it's time I also take my leave.” No one paid much attention as Loki mimicked your actions and prepared to leave the table.
“Leaving already?” Wanda asked politely and you smiled back, already prepared to answer with ‘Yeah, I'm just tired.’
“Of course they are! I'm sure my brother and Y/N have much to do and discuss,” Thor smirked, winking and raising his glass to the both of you in a not so subtle way.
Silence fell over the entire table and you and Loki grew rigid. Natasha and Steve turned to glare at Thor, who lowered his glass, realising what exactly he'd just said.
“What?” Tony said, turning to Thor with a shocked expression. Loki quickly stepped in.
“I think my brother may have had a tad too much Asgardian ale, I-
“No, what did you say?” He asked again, voice raising. All eyes were now either on Tony, Loki or you.
Thor seemed to shrink into his seat, taking interest in the bottom of his cup as he attempted to backtrack and fix his mistake. But it was too late.
Your father's gaze turned to you and then Loki, who was cautiously standing behind you.
“One chance.” He was livid. “You get one chance to tell me the truth.”
“Dad, can we not do this now,” you asked quietly.
“The truth, Y/N.” You couldn’t recall the last time you’d seen your father so angry. And as terrified as you were, you knew lying would only dig you a deeper hole.
“I was going to tell you,” you started, wincing as he ran a hand down his face. “I just didn't know how and then Nat told me I should just-”
Your father's glare turned to Natasha who choked on her wine at your words. You mentally grimaced as you realized what you'd just said.
“Oh, so you knew!” Tony yelled, pointing an accusing finger at Nat. He turned back to you. “You told Thor and Natasha before you told me!”
“I didn't tell her! She just sort of found out...” you fumbled and Tony laughed humorlessly.
“Did anybody else know besides Nat and point break?” he asked, addressing the whole table. Steve fidgeted awkwardly in his seat and Tony immediately singled him out.
“Steve.” He crossed his arms as he glared at the captain. “Something on your mind?”
Steve sighed. “Look, Tony I-”
“Don't bullshit me, Rogers.”
Steve nodded wordlessly and Tony bit the inside of his cheek, looking as though he was prepared to rip into each member of the team. You cowered back slightly and Loki stepped infront of you, shielding you from your fathers rage the best he could.
“Great! Awesome! Did anyone else know my daughter was dating a psychopath and just decided to keep that information to themselves?”
Everyone awkwardly shifted in their seats, some clearing there throats and others offering you sympathetic glances. Natasha mouthed a ‘sorry’ and Thor seemed to still be beating himself up for letting it slip in the first place.
Loki stepped forward. “Stark, I can assure you-”
“Zip it, Reindeer Games,” he warned and for once, Loki did as he was told. Tony pointed to you as if he were scolding a child.
“You are grounded,” he stated. “No more missions, no more lab privileges, nothing.”
You scoffed. “I'm not a kid!”
“Yes, you are! You're my kid.”
“Dad, will you please just listen to me.” You begged as you stepped towards your father in hopes of reasoning with him. He rose from his seat to meet you.
“No. This,” he gestured between you and Loki. “Ends now. End of discussion.”
You took a step back, feeling as though an arrow had hit you in the chest. Tears were brimming your eyes and you couldn't find it in you to meet anyone's gaze. Seeing how upset you'd become, Loki refused to bite his tongue any longer.
“Stark, with all due respect, I won't allow that. I understand your disdain for me and it's more than warranted but do not take that anger out on Y/N. You have no reason to trust me but I can assure you that my feelings towards your daughter and nothing but sincere and genuine.”
Loki's sudden statement seemed to have surprised Tony. He opened his mouth to argue but Loki didn't give him the chance as he continued.
“She has given me a second chance and I love her dearly for doing so. And I would never do anything to harm her. I love her unconditionally and all I ask is for a chance. Allow me to prove myself.”
Loki's speech had left you teary-eyed with a warmth spreading in your chest. A smile pulled at your lips as Loki turned to you. The genuine and loving look in his eyes spoke volumes and it took every ounce of control you possessed not to launch yourself into his arms then and there.
“Tony, I don't know about you but that seemed pretty convincing to me.” Nat voiced from the table and Thor immediately agreed.
“My brother may be the god of lies but he has spoken nothing but the truth tonight.”
Steve, ever the diplomat, offered Tony an encouraging nod. “All he's asking for is a chance, Tony.”
“It's pretty sweet if you ask me,” Bucky murmured from beside the captain, Sam and Wanda nodding in agreement.
Tony watched as the table seemed to take Loki's side and he battled with himself until his eyes landed on you. You were standing side by side with Loki, whilst he smiled at you in adoration. The glances you shared were nothing short of loving and Tony couldn't help but notice how genuine and mutual it truly was. Loki's hand was brushing against yours, desperate to grasp hold and comfort you but not wanting to overstep the line the tension had drawn.
Tony sighed as he realized what he had to do. You were his daughter, his everything. And he just wanted you to be happy. Even if it was with someone he didn’t initially approve of.
“You love him?” he asked nonchalantly and you nodded.
“And you, Frosty,” Tony motioned to Loki who tried not to frown at the nickname. “You love her?”
Loki glanced at you, smiling softly. “Wholeheartedly.”
Tony swallowed down the lump in his throat as he watched the both of you, not completely ready to accept that you weren't a kid anymore.
“Well then, I guess that's that.” He smiled at you softly. “Leave it to you to fall for the God of mischief. You always were a troublemaker.”
Your father pulled you into a hug, muttering a quiet ‘love you, sweet pea’, before pulling back to look at Loki.
“You hurt her,” he started and Loki cut him off with an amused chuckle.
“You'll kill me?” He guessed.
“Oh no, not just me. They'll kill you.” Tony smirked, pointing to the table full of avengers.
Loki nodded. “Understood.”
Nat sent you a wink and Steve and Thor smiled whilst the rest of the team seemed to congratulate you with supportive, and in some cases embarrassing, comments.
You and Loki smirked at each other, slowly turning to leave the dining room when your father's voice called you back.
“Woah, where do you two think you're going?” he asked. “Cats out of the bag now so no need to run off and hide. Sit.”
Seeing no point in arguing, you both took your seats, Loki holding your hand atop the table for everyone to see. Things quickly settled back into a comfortable conversation, you and Loki feeling freer than you had in months. The domesticity of it all was enough to make your heart burst.
“So,” Clint, who was slightly tipsy at this point, yelled. “When's the wedding?”
Tony turned red. “Don't push their luck, Barton.” He partially joked, glaring daggers at his teammate as the rest of the team laughed. As for you and Loki, you couldn't help but smile at the possibility.
Tailor!Reader in Dream SMP
Dsmp x reader prompt; Tailor!Reader in Dream SMP. Credit would be appreciated so more people can find this and make their own things based on it.
Can fully be read as platonic. GN!reader with they/them pronounce as a placeholder so anyone can adapt it however they want. Both general and character specific parts included.
Characters who have a lot written for/about; Eret, Ranboo, Foolish, Tommy, Technoblade, Philza and Michael. Mentioned; Tubbo, Sam Nook, Purpled and Foolish Jr.
This ended up being super long so I’m putting it under the cut in order not to clutter people’s pages. My personal favourite part is Phil’s and Techno’s part. These could be read as headcanons but are still available as a prompt(s) to use for anyone.
------------------------------
The reader joining after the doomsday as a time frame in my mind.
The reader helping people patch up their current clothes since most of it got pretty banged up during the doomsday, and it's not like they can just go get a new outfit since quite a few people had just lost all their belongings and only had the clothes on their back. So at first prioritizing helping patch up the current clothing people were wearing and then moving on to making some simple fast to make and easy on the resources clothes for people. Just like basic shirts and shorts/pants, nothing fancy. Then when everyone has at least a couple of different clothes to change to and from starting their own business to sell people more if they wanted. However waving payment if they brought them the materials and what they wanted wasn't overly complicated.
People at first thinking they are just some chump who knows basic sewing or something. A very kind chump, but still a chump. So imagine their surprise when one day they are just walking by the reader's now established tailors and they see these absolutely stunning designs displayed at the windows.
Just like their reactions seeing these beautiful designs they can't help but stare at. I'd imagine some of them just doing a double take when they walk by, someone pressing their face up to the glass trying to see it closer, the braver ones going inside and talking to the reader about their designs and the more anxious and/or shy ones only going inside when the reader isn't there to look at designs closer.
And the reasons they like/are amazed by the designs vary also ! Some just have monkey brain that goes "Pretty. WANT", some who just love the colour and art of the pieces, some who imagine how epic this design or others would look on them, some who love the fashion aspect of it and of course the very small portion who actually know anything about tailoring/sewing and the amount of work that goes into making something intricate.
Some specific character/group interactions I thought of;
Making warm well insulated clothes for people moving to Snowchester so they don't freeze. +A warm cape for Ranboo for the same reason.
Eret being one of the firsts (if not the first) to get himself a fully tailored and customized outfit. Them also being the first and very possibly only person to get a dress or a skirt since most of the other people on the server prefer to wear pants (excluding maid dresses which people might get as joke). The reader crying in joy for getting to design something different for once. And hey if the reader ends up making a few extra ones that she didn't order, but decided to give her anyway it was all just some extra ones they had lying around, never mind the fact that the dresses/skirts are perfectly tailored for Eret and are her style. Just a coincidence, nothing suspicious there. Eret also models for the reader and once he even convinced them to hold a fashion show to showcase some of their work to the whole server. Of course he was the main model presenting the outfits.
At start of the reader beginning to display their designs at their shop Ranboo sees a really cool looking suit on display and his brain just goes "Want." He probably wouldn't be able to buy anything pre-made and be comfortable in it due to his physique. And him having just moved into the arctic and only starting to get settled in, he doesn't have comfortable enough funds for him to get something as expensive as a custom tailored suit AND have enough for any possible rent that he might be required to pay.
Eventually when he gets richer he starts considering getting one but the anxious side of him always ends up winning and he doesn't. However once he finally gets the courage to go commission the suit for himself he doesn't regret it at all. The reader did their best to not overwhelm him and to make it the best possible experience. Just imagining the absolute joy he would feel for having a properly fitting suit that's made just for him, not too short sleeves nor too wide torso and shoulders, just perfect. If he ends up ordering a couple more suits that's between him and the reader. He actually ends up probably being their most frequent and reliable customer.
And we should all know why that is, but let me clarify just in case; Michael.
The reader basically becoming Michael's personal stylist (/hj) . Not only does Ranboo buy a god awful amount of clothes for Michael, the reader also makes some free ones for him. The free ones are things the reader felt like designing since they absolutely adore Michael and the ones Ranboo pays for are commissioned by him. Michael absolutely has the biggest wardrobe in the whole server. The reader learning how to make plushies so Michael could have some more toys, this learning experience including learning to crochet and knit to see what he like best.
Using their newly acquired plush making skills, the reader starts their quest to make some plushies for others after seeing people stare at the plushies wistfully either while they were working on them or seeing Michael with the plushies. People who got them include the minors, their close friends and basically anyone they thought might benefit from them. Some of the ones they made (that I could think of);
Of course a bee for Tubbo, but also throwing in a little ram one as well
Ranboo gets a grass block plush/pillow
Tommy gets a cobblestone block plush and a cow plush. He also later receives a Sam Nook plush while he's working on the hotel
Purpled getting two different sized ufos, one to hold and the other more of a big pillow
Eret definitely gets a flamingo plush
Foolish gets a totem and a gold block plushies
Phil gets crow plush as well these tiny fake coin and gem plushies (the latter causes problems for him which I'll expand upon later)
Techno gets a pig one as well as polar bear one
Back to the individual/group part
The reader just chilling w/ Foolish as a fellow artists. Them talking about both their arts and catching up every time the reader comes to deliver something to Snowchester when Foolish is building the mansion. Just two pretty peaceful artists talking about their passions. I’d imagine Foolish and the reader could relate to each other and their place in the server due to their similar hobbies/jobs as well as their similar time of joining the server. Foolish's first commission from them being an intricate blanket for Foolish Jr so he could have a more comfortable resting place. He may or may not end up receiving that and several other (though less intricate) blankets as well as a tiny shark plush to give to Foolish Jr. Later on when the reader gets better at either knitting or crocheting they end up making a tiny shark jumper with a hood for Foolish Jr as well. Foolish would definitely cry when he sees his tiny shark baby. Any commissions of clothes for himself tend to always take some time due to sheer amount of work needing to be done due to his size so he always makes sure the reader doesn’t already have a lot on their plate and that they know he’s fine with waiting if they need to take a break from it.
Then there's Tommy, who they sometimes teach more about sewing since he already knows some basics. Him probably being the first person aside from Michael they make a plush for, due to him demanding one once he saw the reader making them. Then proceeding to get three plushies in rapid succession. The first being the cobblestone, the second being the cow and the third one being the Sam Nook one. He ends up losing one of them during the prison fiasco and when the reader asks if he'd like a new one they only get the answer of "Don't want to think about what happened and the same one might make me do that". He then promptly receives new clothing (so he isn't wearing the same ones he was wearing in prison) and some extra blankets (for comfort) from the reader.
After Tommy meeting Michael does he use him to scam the reader to make them matching outfits for free? Yes, yes he does. Does it work? Yes, yes it does. Are they bothered by it? Not really, they look adorable in their matching outfits.
The reader being the source for Sam Nook's construction gear/clothes or at least the original patterns for them.
And then there's the arctic boys (minus Ranboo, who will still get mentioned) who are an interesting bunch clothing wise. The first one to commission the reader out of them would be Phil who got the original warm cape for Ranboo but also at the same time commissioned one for himself that would include slits for his wings. Eventually getting to design clothing for him which is always an exciting challenge with his wings. And when Phil finally manages to convince Techno to get something made for himself as well, Techno almost immediately gets addicted to having high quality clothing when they finish their first piece for him. The fun the reader has designing clothes for these boys is immeasurable with their different styles and needs in the clothing. Aside from clothing Techno also commissions them for a pet bed for Steve.
When the boys got their plushies it was adorable but also a very chaotic. Techno giving his pig one to Steve so he wouldn't miss him when he was away from home, but also bringing the polar bear one with him when he couldn't or wasn't allowed to bring Steve with him but still needed comfort. While on Phil's side of things; he was showing his crows the crow plushie joking about he'll replace them if they aren't careful however he made the mistake of showing them the tiny coin and gem plushies as well. I want you to imagine hundreds of crows descending upon this poor fool of a man in the background while the reader is walking away hoping they like their plushies.
The war that ensued the couple following days amongst the crows starts to cool down but the bickering doesn't, every waking moment Phil can feel eyes on him and one or more of the crows coming to complain about the others having had the shiny plushies for too long. He quickly caves under the pressure and commissions more of the tiny shiny treasure plushies. And by more I mean a lot more.
When he finally has enough of the things he goes around distributing them to the crows. Finally a moment of peace, but he still feels like something is staring at him occasionally. Deciding to ignore it since it's finally quiet he goes to makes himself a cup of tea and while waiting for the water to boil he fishes out the few shiny plushies he had saved for himself. The second he does he feels eyes burning into him and now that it's quiet he hears it, quiet muffled snuffles and snorts of discontent. Then he sees what ‘it’ is, it's Techno behind the window looking at the shinies in his hand with such intensity Phil fears for his life (/hj). Phil just sighs deeply before walking over to the window and opening it. For a second Techno looks like a deer in headlights before returning to intensely staring at the shinies in Phil's hand before Phil just dumps the shiny plushies into Techno's hand and closes the window. Happy piglin noises can be heard outside while Phil debates the pros (getting to have shinies himself) and cons (the embarrassment of having to commission even more of the shiny plushies than he already has) of getting new ones from the reader. And in all this the reader has no idea the amount of chaos they inadvertently caused.
And finally; Techno commissioning robes/cloaks for whole the Syndicate to wear in their meetings, because he’s dramatic like that. But since he’s a thoughtful guy, he wants them all to fit the members well and not be uncomfortable to wear so he gets everyone’s measurements. Once he has them all he goes to the reader with the order for the robes, he has all the measurements written down under just Person 1, Person 2 etc. to keep their anonymity and when asked what the robes are for he just tells the reader it’s a book club. When he gets them all and the reader asks no further questions he thinks he’s gotten away with getting some cool robes for the Syndicate with their secrets safe. Little does he know the reader actually now knows all the members in the Syndicate since they can just reference the gotten measurements with everyone’s measurements written down from previous work done by them. Whether the reader thinks it’s some weird cult they all are a part of or just an actual book club people are too embarrassed to admit they are in, is up to interpretation.
The Only Teenage Bitch Worth My Time (Jotaro x Sister!Reader)
(I literally wrote this for my English final exam- But obviously modified and without cursing.)
(Y/n) had always been the star child; not one instance in her life had her intellectual potential been questioned by anyone in her family. Alas, this was one of those moments in which she felt like she didn't deserve to be the gifted child of the Joestar family.
Her brother, Jotaro, was as clever and quick-thinking as her, yet he was treated as intellectually challenged because of his demeanor. He was a rude teenager in his junior year that simply walked around acting like he didn't care about anything. He could walk into a restaurant and if he didn't like the food, he would refuse to pay no matter what. If you were to ask him for his opinion on how you looked, if he didn't like it, he would tell you his opinion straight up. No sugar coating, no nice little words; a simple "You look stupid." would suffice. Not to mention he didn't seem to respect his mother.
(Y/n) tried her best to appease her adoptive mother, Holly. But Jotaro? Oh, he didn't care about respect. He would talk back to her, go out and leave her to worry until he returned hours after his curfew. Yet, for some reason, their mother never scolded him. It was like she didn't even care about all that. She would let anything slide so easily. It baffled her to an impossible extent.
Yet, she knew there was more to him than that. (Y/n) seemed to be the only person he actually cared to talk to. She found it odd at first but eventually stopped asking herself why.
Jotaro would tell her about how annoying it is to walk to school and instantly be swarmed by his annoying fangirls. And with all honesty, (Y/n) felt the same way when she saw all those girls literally push her away from walking with her brother to school.
It wasn't soon until (Y/n) picked up a few delinquent habits from Jotaro, though. They were walking down the pavement as (Y/n) spoke to Jotaro, "Hey, you think I'm gonna do good in that science fair? The top prize is 148000¥!". In her hands, he held her science fair project. A small homemade printer she had been working on for months.
"You're pretty smart, I think you'll give those other nerds something to be scared about," Jotaro mumbled.
"You think you can help me set it up in the gym?" She asked smiling at him softly.
And just before he could respond, the stampede of girls ran towards them. They pushed around to be able to bother Jotaro. And when they did, one of them pushed (Y/n) out of the way, causing her to drop her project.
And that's when it happened. She balled up her fists in anger and punched the girl in the face.
Jotaro looked at her, taken aback by his sister's actions. Then he chuckled, pulled the brim of his black hat down to his face, and mumbled a proud, "Good grief." With that, he continued walking. Leaving (Y/n) alone to be caught and sent to detention, which eventually led to her being suspended for a week.
So that was exactly why she was sitting in the middle of her living room right now.
"Why'd it have to be today of all days..." she thought to herself. The reason being that her father, Sadao, came back from his Jazz tour that same day to go support her in the Science fair.
She looked around, wondering if there was anything she could do while she waited. Eventually, she decided to change out of her school uniform. Making her way to her room and changing her Japanese uniform with something that accommodated more to her Italian fashion desires.
She fixed her (H/c) hair and adjusted her (F/c) dress. Though, just as she was sliding on her boots, she heard a car in the driveway.
"Oh shoot-" she exclaimed, running out into the living room. She knew darn well that her mom had already informed her dad of her suspension. So playing it off was no option.
Her father stepped out of the car and hugged her mom. As soon as he saw him walk towards the house, she knew she was fucked.
"(Y/n), I would like to have a word with you young lady," he announced, not wasting a single second after entering through the front door.
"Yes sir." She gulped. She slowly walked towards him, already regretting what she had done earlier that day.
Her father sat down on the couch and patted the space next to him, signaling her to sit down. Once she did as instructed, her father sighed.
"(Y/n), your mother informed me of what happened in school today. Why did you do that?" he asked calmly.
(Y/n) grew nervous. She was too scared to lie to him, but would he be mad at the truth? She just knew he would, but she honestly had no choice, did she?
"I... I just hate it when all those girls crowd around Jotaro. He doesn't even want all that attention! But you know what just infuriated me?! They are constantly pushing through me to get to him! They made me drop my project! And- and you know what's worse?! I CAN'T EVEN ENJOY A SMALL WALK WITH MY OWN BROTHER! And I just thought, 'Ok, what would Jotaro do if he was as mad as I am?' And well... I don't want to excuse my actions... but it just... happened." She ranted, her voice trailing off at the end.
"I see, you were angry about a situation you constantly find yourself feeling helpless in, so you decided to strike at it as you've seen Jotaro do when he's in a problem." He spoke, attempting to understand what she meant.
"Well... he only reacts like that when someone makes him mad, so yes." She mumbled back.
"See, sweetheart, the past few years, I've seen that Jotaro looked at you as too perfect to even try to be like you. And now I see that in your own way, you see Jotaro as stronger than you. Perhaps more courageous? You have found a hidden nobility inside of him. A resilience that he doesn't even show us. And I know you admire it so much, that you wish you had the capability to be as carefree and careless as he is." Sadao commented.
"I... I guess you're right." (Y/n) admitted.
"Whether you see it or not, you two make a great duo because you're what the other wished they were. I'm not saying it wasn't wrong that you punched that girl in the face, but I'm saying that you should try to channel that newfound courage into... less violent things." He suggested.
"Just go where destiny guides you my cherry blossom," Holly added as she walked by them on her way to the kitchen.
"I'll take this as permission to be mean to people, verbally."
"Take it as you will, just don't get yourself into any more trouble, ok kid?" He clarified.
"Yes sir!" She cheered.
Sadao got up from the couch, he was about to leave the living room, when he stopped in his tracks and turned to see his daughter once again, "Oh and (Y/n)."
"Yes, Papa?"
"You're grounded."
"Awww! What about the science fair?" She asked.
"Well, you have a project to fix." He reassured her, letting her know he was still going to take her.
"Can I at least pick Jotaro up from school?"  You asked.
"Yes, but remember the conversation we had, (Y/n)." He responded as he walked into the kitchen.
(Y/n) nodded at him, as she walked outside and laid on the grass. As she looked at the clouds. She really wished Jotaro had come to get her out of detention. Or had at least snuck her out of school for one of his smoking sessions before she got caught. Obviously, (Y/n) herself didn't smoke, so she really was just gonna sit there and maybe even snack on something while they both had a sensible conversation.
That's where she got an idea: Jotaro was probably skipping class to smoke right now, and she had nothing to do, so she thought sneaking out of the house to hang out with him wasn't a bad idea. So she went back into the house and walked into the kitchen where her parents were talking to each other.
"Hey mom, dad, I think I'm gonna go take a nap until Jotaro is out of school." She announced.
"Alright honey, just let me know If you want anything, ok?" Holly smiled as she kissed her cheek.
(Y/n) went into her room and got a small backpack full of snacks. Slowly, she opened the door back up and ran out into the yard and out of the house's territory. Then she ran towards the school.
Once she got there, she looked around for Jotaro. As always, she found him sitting on the bleachers, cigarette in hand and black hat covering his eyes. (Y/n) made her way towards him, climbing up the bleachers and sitting next to him on the top seats.
He slowly turned to her, and chuckled, "Weren't you in detention?"
"I was suspended you jackass." She responded.
"Oh, well that sounds bad for your permanent record," he spoke softly, taking a puff of his cigarette.
"Yeah... it was worth it though, those bitches have been getting on my nerves for some time now." She shrugged, taking a bag of chips out of her backpack.
"Really? Is it because they always push you around," he asked casually.
"Well, that's part of the issue... but mostly it's because I hate how they just won't leave you alone. It's like every hint you throw at them completely misses them! I mean, you literally call them bitches in their stupid faces!" (Y/n) complained.
"Yeah, it's pretty damn annoying..." he mumbled softly.
He didn't want to actually thank her for getting him out of that situation; it would ruin the careless delinquent image he'd worked so hard to build. But he saw his sister's sweet gesture as the only reason why she was the only teenage bitch worth his time.
And even though he didn't say it, (Y/n) knew damn well that he was thanking her from the bottom of his heart with that response.
"So, you want to help me fix my printer before the fair? I promise I'll let you use it." (Y/n) asked.
"Sure, it starts at 10, doesn't it?"
"Yeah, I'm sure that if you help me we can get it done by 9:30." She spoke.
"But you have to tell me what to do, or else I'll probably fuck it up," he responded.
"Don't worry, I'll tell you, little Joot!" (Y/n) said as she pulled down his hat.
"Don't call me that you bitch." He turned away, hiding the embarrassed blush on his face.
"Come on little bro..." She pouted playfully.
Jotaro sighed, "I'm not your little bro. I was here first, you bitch." he grunted.
"Yeah, but I'm still older than you by one year."
"Yeah, I'm pretty fucking sure that doesn't count." He rolled his eyes.
"Uh- I'm pretty sure that it does. Age is what determines who's the oldest sibling, dumbass." She said, matter-of-factly.
"I still refuse to accept it." He grunted in annoyance
"Fine... suit yourself... little Joot.~" (Y/n) chuckled.
She wouldn't change what they had for anything in the world, and she knew Jotaro thought the same thing. Even if he didn't really tell her.
How He Loves - Eventually pt. 2
Barbatos x MC | Song Fic
How He Loves Series | Brothers Masterlist | Dateables Masterlist
Inspiration ~ Haven't Had Enough by Marianas Trench
Description: Barbatos watches MC fall I love over and over again only to be heartbroken each time. His finally jump leads him to the most painful heartbreak, or does it?
Just a preface, I don't fully understand how Barbatos' power work, I know it has to do with time, and I know when he sent MC to another timeline in the game there were two MC's in one place. So just to clarify how I am using it, I am thinking that he moves his consciousness from one Barbatos timeline to another when he goes through his time doors, not that more than one of him exist at one time. This is just my preference to one make it easier for me to understand, and two to make it simpler to write. I hope you enjoy!
Warnings: angst, very fluffy ending
Without missing a beat MC gently held his hand in place and tried their dish. In that moment, Barbatos saw it. His sliver of hope. A single timeline where MC was his.
He saw them cooking this exact recipe, but instead of ending in tasting the soup, it ended in a sweet kiss... Now that he knew he had a chance to be with MC, he just had to figure out which timeline was the right one.
Barbatos thought back to that single hopeful scene. It felt like a distant memory to him now. Immediately after Mammon and MC left the castle that day, Barbatos had rushed to the door that could send him back to the beginning. To his first meeting with MC, to see if he could change it all.
During the first attempt he was chivalrous, going as far as to kiss MC's hand on first meeting. This only seemed to lead to MC falling in love with the prideful Lucifer who flaunted them in Barbatos face every second he had.
He went back again, taking a more calm and friendly approach, only to have MC fall into the arms of Simeon, who eventually took them back to the Celestial Realm leaving Barbatos alone without even getting a proper goodbye.
Attempt after attmept, Barbatos would introduce himself differently thinking the start of their relationship was the error, only to have MC fall in love with someone else in the end.
Hundreds of jumps through time later, Barbatos began to loose himself. Leading to his previous dedication to Diavolo faltering because he was consumed only with winning MC's heart.
His current attempt was one of the most painful. Barbatos had given up on introducing himself long ago when the hundredth time still led MC into someone else's arms. Instead, he opted for silence and a small smile. Time passed and Barbatos watched as MC got closer and closer to Lord Diavolo making his heart ache.
The human was currently running around the castle giggling with the demon prince in a game of hide and seek. While he was stuck in the kitchen forced to hear their laughter echo through the ornate hallways.
Even though Barbatos had a long list of tasks to get done, he could not focus even if he wanted to. Each little chuckle that resounded through the hallways from MC in the distance made his mind drift off. He dreamed about the day when they would finally run into his arms, giving him the sweet pecks he had seen everyone else recieve.
As his mind wandered, Barbatos began to notice the vividness of MC's laughter. It no longer sounded like a distant dream, but something closer to reality. He was finally brought out of his thoughts when he was tackled to the ground.
Even though the blow was fast, it was not too much for the demon to handle. He began to stir under the weight and finally opened his eyes when he heard a voice.
"Oh no! Barbatos! Are you okay?"
With one quick glance Barbatos discovered his culprit to be none other than MC. They were currently hovering over him with concern written all over their face as he lay on his back.
"I'm fine, MC. There is no need to worry about me. Demons are quite resilient and can take a tackle or two." He smiled as he said this. His heart warming at their concern.
Barbatos then pushed himself up so he would be sitting. MC on the other hand, back peddled and sat on his legs. Leaving the demon stuck in this position under them. Their face was red as they looked at the pristine tile floors he had just cleaned.
"I still feel bad about tackling you... is there anything I could do to at least make up for it?" MC fiddled with their jacket refusing to look at Barbatos as they talked. He found this endearing. How could this human be so cute without realizing it? It wounded him.
Barbatos pulled from his thoughts, began to ponder their request until and idea popped into his head. His one sliver of hope, "You could help me make dinner tonight if you wish. We will be having Newt Fire Soup and I could use another set of hands in the kitchen."
"Alright!" With that MC jumped off of him and reached out their hand to help Barbatos up. A smile spread across his face as he grabbed their hand and they helped him stand up.
The pair got to work, and MC was just as good at following instructions in this timeline as they were in the first one. It almost felt like deja vu to Barbatos as MC seemed to follow his commands the exact same way as they did previously.
Of course, Barbatos was just as distracted by MC the second time as the first time, but what he didn't notice before was MC staring at him as well.
Whenever he would turn his back he could feel their eyes boring holes into him, and when he would turn around their face would go red and they would quickly look away. These actions seemed odd to the butler. Wasn't this MC in love with Lord Diavolo?
Eventually, Barbatos got bold and wanted to see if his suspicions were correct, "MC you need to stir it clockwise, not counter-clockwise."
That was a lie, it really didn't matter how the soup was stirred. He just wanted to test his theory. After speaking he walked up behind MC putting his hand on top of their's on the spoon and slowly spinning it in the opposite direction.
MC's face began to flush as they looked up at him, "O-oh, um... thank you." Their words sounded like little squeaks, Barbatos was about to pull away, worried that he had frightened them, until he looked down to see them biting back a grin. Maybe this was finally his chance.
Eventually the soup was finished and just as Barbatos had before, he grabbed a spoon holding it out for MC to taste test.
"Barbatos this is the best thing I have ever tasted!"
"I am glad you enjoyed it, but remember you made it as well so you also have yourself to thank." After these compliments, Barbatos waited, but there seemed to be no kiss in sight.
He sighed sullen and turned his back to them as he began to clean up the kitchen. Even though this time had started rough, he thought that it was turning around MC seemed interested in him, but maybe that was all just an illusion.
"Barbatos."
MC's voice cut through his thoughts like a knife.
"Yes?" He turned focusing all his attention on a now fidgeting MC.
"W-well, I just wanted to say something..."
He looked at the human confused, "What would you like to say?" MC seemed to be stalling as they thought of the right words to say.
"Well..." MC took a deep breath before quickly speaking, "I really like you Barbatos, and I hope you aren't mad at me for tackling you earlier today, but I really just did that because Lord Diavolo told me it was the only way I could get your attention."
Barbatos stood there stunned, staring at them as they continued, "I just... ugh... when we first met you seemed so... I don't know... intimidating? I wanted to get to know you better, but I didn't want you to think I was some nuisance."
A nuisance? Barbatos was flabbergasted, is that really how he had made them feel.
"I told Diavolo and he started inviting me over so I could build up the courage to talk to you." MC took a deep breath before continuing, "I really like you Barbatos. I see how considerate you are to everyone else and I just want to do the same for you- Wait are you okay?"
MC runs over to him gently grabbing his face. Barbatos was so overwhelmed by the human's words that he didn't notice tears welling up and trailing down his face like a waterfall.
"You don't know how long I have waited to hear that." A bright smile spread across his face as he speaks. The pair sit for a moment in silence as Barbatos catches his breath with their forehead pressed together. Eventually they both lean in slowly until their lips finally collide in a long soft kiss.
MC pulls away breathless and says, "Barbatos, you might just be the best thing I have ever tasted." Their combined laughter swell and full the kitchen reverberating back to their own ears.
"Better than the soup?" Barbatos replies while chuckling as he pulls MC in by their waist
"Definitely." MC leans in again after answering capturing his lips in a passionate kiss.
Extra:
Diavolo: "Oh there you are MC! I see you found a prize for being the best at hiding! Remember, no funny business in the kitchen."
MC: *Embarassed* "LORD DIAVOLO!"
Barbatos: "Ever unchanging, my Lord."
Broken Time
An EoWells Oneshot
Eobard comes back by walking through a time portal. The team needs him to help them close it but it seemed like he doesn’t know any of them yet. Their only hope is you, because you were the closest to Harrison.
A/N: English is not my native language.
One may think that when you get a call of your best friend to tell you a time vortex had opened in town, you’re going to be at least a little surprised. The truth was, since you teamed up with Flash and his friends, time travel wasn’t even the most surprising thing you’ve heard about. Heck, you discovered that you could travel on other Earths, like parallel world, so there was a few thing that could surprise you now.
Cisco, explained that he needed you back at the lab the fastest you could, saying it was an urgent matter. You knew Cisco and you knew that he had a tendencies to exaggerate things but you recognized that panic in his voice. You tried to calm him down and asked for details, explanations but he remained vague. He wouldn’t tell you what was so urgent, not on the phone and it made you wonder what was the big deal. Another metahuman attack? If so, why would Cisco be so scared about it, you were facing this kind of situation every day.
Not thinking longer about the how and why, you grabbed your bag and keys and drove to S.T.A.R Labs as quickly as you could. It was night but traffic was still big and you grumbled behind your wheel, trying to get to your friends in time. You arrived at the Lab thirty minutes after Cisco’s call and when the elevator doors opened, you rushed in the Cortex. The complete team was there, and all were wearing long faces, some were pacing nervously. When they heard your footsteps, they turned towards you, even more anxious. You noticed Barry as he stood up from his stool and you detected the look in his eyes. The kind of look that told you he was sad for you, that he was about to announce you bad news. Caitlin was toying with her fingers, a bad habit she got when she was nervous and stressed. She barely manage to meet your eyes. Cisco tense when he turned towards you, his whole body rigidifying when you walked closer to him. His eyes fell in yours and you could see the fear inside them. Fear for him and for you.
You stepped carefully in the room, eyeing each one of them with caution. You didn’t liked the aura in the room, it was announcing something bad. Really bad.
“What’s going on?” You asked, dreading the answer.
Joe and Iris were a little in the back, assisting but not taking part of the situation. Barry shared a look with his adopted father and when Joe gave him a nod, he sighed and approached you. You felt like running. You didn’t like the ambient, your heart was already racing even though they hadn’t said a thing yet.
“Y/N… A time vortex opened up tonight.” He began to explain, reluctant.
His puppy dog eyes met yours and you feared the worst.
“And someone went through it.”
“Someone went in the vortex?” You asked, confused.
If a civilian went into the vortex, then, why weren’t they trying to find a way to get them back? And why the long face were turned towards you? Was it someone you knew? Someone close to you?
“No. Someone came from the vortex.” Barry clarified.
Okay, that was becoming too stressful for you. You needed them to spill the beans already.
“Who?”
Oh, so, that was the problem. They all shared a look, as if they were silently asking if it was a good idea. As if they were trying to find who would have enough courage to tell you.
“Who?” You insisted, your voice raising a little.
“Eobard Thawne.” Cisco finally spilled.
Your breath got stuck in your throat and your heart missed a beat. The shock was great. Eobard Thawne was dead, he couldn’t be back. But as you knew time travels were possible and therefore, you knew he could be back. And now, the long faces and the anxious towards you were all making sense.
The team Flash all suffered from Harrison Wells’ betrayal. Cisco and Caitlin were trusting him, he was a guide, a mentor to them. Cisco even found a father figure in Wells. Barry was a big fan of his. And he lied to all of you.
But even if they all have lost something because of him, you were probably the one who would take the news the worst. You’ve been in love with Harrison for years. You were practically living with him, you were imagining your life alongside his. It was all before you discovered he was in fact another man, from the future. All those years of lies and yet… Deep in your heart, you knew… You still loved him.
He lied about his identity, he lied about his handicap, he lied about his intentions… He lied about everything. But you couldn’t forget those years spent with him. You couldn’t get rid of the memories of your shared laugh, of your kisses, of your love words… Harrison might have not been the man you thought but you knew you had love him truly and deeply nevertheless.
“What?” You asked, when the shock had lessen a bit.
“He came back.” Cisco said again, looking at you with compassion.
“Why?”
“He said the vortex opened in front of him and swallowed him before he could escape.” Caitlin explained. “He still wear the face of Harrison Wells, but he doesn’t know any of us. We think he comes from before he build S.T.A.R. Lab.”
“Before he met us.” Cisco added.
You nodded your head, still trying to process all the information but it was rather hard. The only thing going on in a loop in your head was “he’s here”.
After you discovered his true identity, everything went so fast. And too soon, he was dead. You didn’t had a chance to talk to him, to the real him. You didn’t had a chance to let him explain why he did all of this, why lose his time with you, why making you believe he was in love with you. After his death, you always wondered if he was pretending from the beginning or if with time, he end up falling in love with you too.
“Why am I here?” You finally asked.
“We need you.” Cisco said.
“Eobard knows how to close the vortex. If we don’t close it, time will be altered and consequences will be disastrous. We need his helps but he refuse to cooperate.” Barry explained, calmly.
“Okay, but that doesn’t explain why I’m here.”
Silence fell in the room. They all shared a look once more before Iris got fed up and walked towards from the back of the room.
“He was in love with you.” She stated forcefully.
You looked up at her, surprised.
“No.” You said, shaking your head firmly.
“Y/N, he spent ten years with you. I know he lied to all of us but I can’t believe he faked being your boyfriend for ten years without having real feelings for you.”
Tears were coming up in your eyes. This was too much. Your breath was coming short with a strange feeling taking hold of your chest. Panic? Hurt? Hope? You shook your head no vigorously and made a step back, wanting to escape all the eyes on you.
“He was in love with you and you’re our only chance. We need you to talk to him, to make him change his mind and help us.”
“I can’t.” You stuttered.
“Y/N…” Barry said calmly, holding a hand out for you.
You took another step back.
“I know this is difficult.”
“No. You don’t.” You cut harshly. “You don’t know what it’s like to spend every day of your life torn between love and hate. You don’t know what it’s like to spend every single minutes wondering if he ever loved me or if I was just a part of his big plan to kill you. You don’t know what it’s like to still love him, even after all he has done, and hating yourself for it.” You cried, your voice breaking at the end.
“Y/N… You’re the only one that can reach out to him. If he doesn’t help, then we’re all dead.” Cisco said lowly, feeling so sad for you but needing you to understand what was a stake.
You hated all of them in that moment. You hated all of them for asking you to do this. But at the same time, you knew they were right and that you didn’t have a choice. Trying to calm down, you finally nodded, accepting.
Minutes later you were walking in the pipeline. Your hands were slightly shaking as you walked to the control panel. A side of you wanted to run away and pretend that all of this has been a very bad dream while another side of you really wanted to see him one more time.  You still didn’t know if you hated him of still loved him and it was eating you alive. You needed to face him, you needed to confront your feelings. You opened to thick door and you saw him in a box, facing the glass door, waiting. He raised his eyes towards you and your breath got stuck in your throat.
He was as you remembered him, still wearing Harrison Well’s face, like when you had fallen in love with him. But now, you knew. You knew who he really was. His behavior was different though, he wasn’t standing like the man you knew, he held confidence and something dangerous in his way to stand. His eyes were looking at you with calculated hate and curiosity, it made you shivered.
“Well, well, well… Who have we here?” He asked.
His voice. The voice that had haunted so many nightmares and lived in so many memories. You suddenly had the urge to run away. It was too much. But you were glued in place, unable to move.
“Flash can’t do the work himself, he sent you instead, how pathetic.” He railed.
“I’m Y/N.” You finally said, finding back your voice.
“I’d say nice to meet you, but I don’t really care who you are.”
“You will.”
That got his attention. He straightened up and looked at you more attentively. He noticed your shaking hands. Fear? Apprehension? So you knew who he really was, maybe he will even threaten you in the future. He noticed the tears in the corner of your eyes, the tears you refused to let down. Brave but not enough, he thought. But then, something in your eyes caught his attention. Yeah, you seemed scared and you had every reason to be if you knew his real identity but there was something else in  your eyes. Something that wasn’t fear or hurt. Regrets?
He squinted his eyes, trying to search why you would looked at him with so much emotions. And then, it clicked.
“You knew me. My future me.”
It wasn’t really a question but you nodded nevertheless. You gathered enough courage to step closer to the cell he was imprisoned in. You approached slowly until you were standing just in front of him, only separated by the glass. Eobard raised an eyebrow at you and continued to observe every detail of your face. He was feeling that you wanting to tell him so much but you couldn’t. He sensed that you were holding back so much things and he wondered what he had done to you for you to look at him with such… passion?
A storm of memories appeared in your head as you got lost in his blue eyes, as if the movie of your life was being played in your mind. You remembered the first time your met him, your first date, your first kiss. You remembered the night of the explosion of the particles accelerator, how you’ve been worried sick for him when he was in the hospital and how you helped him get used to his wheelchair. You remembered the nigh spent in the lab with him or in his arms, safely in his bed.
Did you knew him? You liked to think that despite all the lies, you were the one that knew him best.
Eobard tilted his head to the side, noticing the faraway look in your eyes and the small sad smile tugging at your lips. Your reaction wasn’t the one he expected and it made him more curious.
“What was I to you?”
Everything, you though.
You remembered the sweet promises he would make to you, late at night, when you were only the both of you. You remembered how he would promise to build a better world for you and that he would love you forever. You still wanted to believe those promises.
A tear escaped your eyes and slid down your cheeks. You quickly wiped it away with the back of your hand and blinked a few times, trying to chase the others menacing to fall. Eobard was still waiting for your answer, brows slightly furrowed, surprised by your tears.
“You were the love of my life.”
Eobard leaned back and froze for a moment, his eyes looking for something in yours. But after a long silence, he let out a mocking scoff. Your heart broke at the sound because you knew what it meant. You’ve heard it before. It was the sound Harrison made when he was mocking or doubting himself.
“No one can love me.” He answered.
His voice wasn’t cold nor harsh nor mean. It was simply empty.
If only he knew how much you had loved him…
“Yet, I did. I think I still do. And I need your help.”
In the Cortex, the team has been listening since the beginning and where exchanging glances. They felt bad. For putting you in this situation and for intruding this intimate moment. But when you asked for Eobard’s help and he didn’t rejected you, they had hope again. Maybe they had been right, maybe Eobard would listen to you.
