teenage jesse tagging up random places around albuquerque with his stupid little signature is funny as fuck because obviously thats what he was doing back then but it kind of becomes bittersweet when u think about how thats probably all of jesse that remains in abq. most of the graffiti got covered over or cleaned but theres probably a pay phone or a sign somewhere in the city that still has a faded "jpi" long after he's escaped to freedom. every part of his past self has been either forcibly stripped away or reluctantly relinquished and his identity for the first twenty-five years of his life, the twenty-five years he spent in this city, is completely erased from physical existence except for a lone tag tucked under some corner like the last fossilized remnants of some ancient civilization.

Rykard getting the second fewest votes in a best sibling poll???? you have GOT to be JOKING they did him so DIRTY!!!!! putting aside the fact that Malenia is obviously the best answer, Rykard is canonically a GREAT brother… he made sure both siblings (and mom!!) had at least one of his abductor virgins protecting them (and he even sent Radahn a whole army of them probably to aid his war effort), he supported Ranni in her plan to shed her empyrean flesh and plotted with her to overthrow the golden order (even if he has to challenge Maliketh himself!), and he has a portrait of Radahn hanging in his sitting room just because he loves and respects him… yeah he’s a nasty guy but there’s more evidence of his love for his siblings than there is for any other demigod barring Malenia and Miquella like come on!!!!!

Yeah, as someone who was in boarding school a lot of my childhood- it's not neglect ffs. There are welfare roles, teachers, staff, other kids.
Do I have some issues with my parents now? Honestly yes, I do. I often wish they had been more involved.
But so do people whose parents have divorced or had to work a lot or honestly most people have issues with their parents.
Equating that to neglect??? When neglect is legally abuse? Is very serious
There are abusive/neglectful boarding schools but there are good ones and Tim went tk good ones
Yes boarding school can suck but between being home alone rather than with friends/teachers who raised me, I know which I'd pick. Most of my friends from college did not come from the same privilege I did and their parents also worked super hard but they didn't have the resources to pay for something like boarding school. I consider myself very fortunate!
Boarding school gave me community and an amazing education. My parents placing me there and paying for me was them taking care of me. And I can recognise that I'm extremely privileged for being able to have that education
(On anon because it's personal but no pressure to reply if you don't feel like it isn't relevant)
I think people throw around terms like negligence and abuse way too often when it comes to Tim without actually knowing what those terms mean and it results in people getting the wrong idea about his child hood which like considering I also grew up in a household were I never saw my parents since they both went out to work before I woke up in the morning and weren't home till after I went to sleep I don't get the fuss parents need to work it happens doesn't qualify as neglect and yeah we can talk about boarding school and how they can be good and bad but Tim never seems to have a problem with his and yeah I still think it would have been worse for Tim if his parents had flown him off to every corner of the earth like that's no life for a child

I think people forget a little just how much conservatives would get up-in-arms about adult cartoons. I mean, they still do, but adult oriented cartoons are a bit more...expected nowadays, I feel. Back in the 90s though, when this stuff was first coming out, it feels like its existence became a national issue. Like, people were out here feeling legitimately threatened by Bart Simpson and Beavis and Butt-Head. They were the US #1 most wanted for a time.

Picturing Chakotay forever upset about the Threshold thing and Tuvok forever amused by it. (Janeway is just over it)
Starfleet Command: So...the warp ten incident.
Janeway: -sighs-
Chakotay: -already glaring at Tuvok who has steepled his fingers in his meditative pose-
Tuvok: Yes the...warp ten incident........I apologize. It is...difficult to discuss.
Chakotay: -glare intensifies-
Janeway: -looking out the window-
Starfleet Command: Of course. Please, take your time. It must have been quite unsettling.
Chakotay: If it unsettles you so much Tuvok please don’t feel pressured to continue.
Tuvok: (ignoring him) I actually believe the commander is more knowledgeable on the subject than I. His report was quite illuminating. Have you read it?
Chakotay: I don’t think they need to rea-
Tuvok: I believe they should read it. To get the ‘full picture’.
Janeway: Maybe they can read the commander’s report later. We wouldn’t want to trouble them wit-
Tuvok: -pulls a PADD from his bag- I have taken the liberty of bringing the report with me.
Chakotay: -teeth grit- Wow. How thoughtful of you.
Tuvok: -staring him dead in the eye as he hands it over to the brass- Thank you. You will also note I have highlighted several passages of interest.
Chakotay: Of course you did.

Brennan as Aesop correcting Mother goose with “it’s actually pronounced ee-sop” is so funny to me like in no world is that close to the real guy’s actual name but go off

Last night was my grandfather’s birthday party, and I’d put it in my top 10 most awkward social events. Me, my younger sibling and my dad drove together. My brother and his wife sat with our aunt and uncle (uncle had an affair in my families house a few years ago, no longer speaking with my parents), and behind him were my second cousins (stole shit from the families church, no longer speaking to us) and then there’s my dads step siblings (they steal my grandmas medication and jewelry, but still speak to us like it never happened. Not my business) and oh my god I got through two hours of it and booked it home
