(Platonic) Avengers cast x GN/Female/Male Reader Feat. on the panel: Elizabeth Olsen, Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie & Robert Downey Jr.

A/N — So this was delayed at first because I'd kinda gotten second thoughts, then did a bit of research (just watched some of the cast in interviews and stuff). And then I thought "fuck it, write it." So I did just that. Though I'm not counting on this being "top tier" and very well may be the only time I do this sorta thing. Because I have come to realise when writing this... I CANNOT write celebrities, so great kudos to those who can, and also they make it look so easy!

SUMMARY— You meet your fellow cast members on the panel for Comic Con, the debut for the final instalment to Habits of Mother Nature's Will releasing that weekend at the premiere.

You never thought you would hear anything louder than the sound of applauding fans and cheers as your name was announced by the panel moderator.

You swaggered onto the stage, your outfit was casual but styled in a way that could pass for formal dress easily. Your hair styled to what you favoured most.

You raised your arm up and waved to the crowd who roared with such vigour, you silently admitted to yourself it was a tad bit intimidating. But you were excited for this panel. To be beside your cast members who you had bonded with over the course of production, and to finally meet those who loved the project as well.

The Avengers series had been a cinematic hit and when you signed the contract, had anyone told you that the three part short series would have been a major hit for audiences, you would have scoffed.

Your co-stars each turned and greeted you with grins as they waved you over. “There they are!” Chris announced into his microphone with a wide grin.

You were assigned to sit between Lizzie and Chris. Anthony sat on Lizzie’s other side.

“Where you been, Y/N? We missed you,” Anthony questioned you with a pout, hands forming a heart over his chest. You chuckled and held up your other hand that held a cup of coffee.

“I needed my fix, leave me alone,” you grumbled. Lizzie squeezed your shoulder lightly with a shake of her head, ushering the others to stop picking on you.

“And you didn’t bring me one,” Anthony tutted and Seb called after him, “the betrayal.”

The crowd laughed and cheered.

“So we were just about to get to the fans' questions, Y/N, and I don’t doubt a lot of them have questions about your character in particular,” the moderator said to you and you nodded.

“Prepare yourself for marriage proposals, Y/N. There is always at least ten for each of us,” Robert said, his voice deep and calm over the mic system.

Your face went bright red. “Well…” you wanted to swear out of habit, but you held your tongue, your head fell forward. “Dammit.”

More laughs came from the audience. The microphone was set up and any fans who had questions were directed to stand in the queue.

The first fan was a young woman, probably about college age. You leaned forward, your arms folded on the table and made your clothes pull against your frame and you looked intensely focused on the fan. Engaged with what they had to say.

The very act made quite a few people swoon and scream, only your eyes flickered to your cast mates with a raised brow.

“I think the proposals have increased quite a bit now,” Chris said with a smirk. It didn’t help relieve the flush in your face when a few whistles of agreement followed his statement.

The girl giggled nervously into the mic in front of her and you refocused your attention on her. “Hi,” she said through her giggles and you nodded, hand lifting slightly to wave.

“Hey, how are you?” you asked and she nodded, “good thank you. I just want to say personally I’m a huge fan of the character, C/N, and I just wanted to ask you how you felt when you got the role to portray them?”

You raised your brows under the weight of the question. You smiled and thanked her for the question. “Hmm, well, I’m not gonna lie it felt scary that I wouldn’t be able to portray the character, but the script writer and director - along with my cast members - they really helped me where I felt I lacked in providing the performance that C/N would. So yeah, thank you for that question, and I’m glad you enjoyed my take on the character, other than that it was a lot of fun.”

She beamed from ear to ear and nodded eagerly. She thanked you profusely and expressed her excitement to see Aftermath in cinemas. Elizabeth patted your hand with a smile. “You did good,” she uttered away from the microphone and you nodded in thanks.

Another fan walked up and greeted the cast. “So I want to know, who would win in a fight against each other: Bucky or C/N?”

“Uh, the correct answer, obviously, would be Ironman.” Robert’s interjection made the crowd fall into a frenzy of hysterics. You grinned, the act natural and your own that you made signature component for your character.

“Remember who killed your parents,” Sebastian taunted and Robert smirked down the table his way. “Uh,” Sebastian began as he leaned back in thought for a moment, “I kinda want to say Bucky. I don’t think C/N could bring themselves to hurt him. So I think he’d use that to his advantage.”

When the fan inquired about your opinion, you shrugged with a tsk. “I think C/N would only win if someone hurt Wanda.” Your answer made the fans giddy, the uproar of cheers enough to bring the roof down like an earthquake.

“I have to say that the fight sequence was so intense, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The cinema I was in was in such a state, I thought it was gonna get shut down,” the next fan began with a giggle. You and your fellow co-stars couldn’t help but chuckle and smile. It really did make you happy to know that you had done well to provide fans with such excitement. The Avenger films were great and adored by the fanbase, your only wish was that you wouldn’t let the dedicated members of the production and the fans down.

“The fight choreography was brilliant and I wanted to ask what you could share about what went on behind the scenes? Like, how was all of that done?”

Oh, that was a loaded question. “Well…,” you chuckled, “let me first tell you that the entirety of my character fighting in their ‘wolf form’ was me. I did all the motion capture for that–” The room was filled with applaus. “Thank you. Yeah, my stunt double thought it would be funny to visit their family overseas and leave me to do all the motion capture. So I have them to thank for the harness that was riding my ass for the next couple of days,” you answered, though everyone could tell you only meant to tease, that you didn’t mean anything ill about it all.

The experience of doing all the intense choreography was actually one of the most fun aspects you’d ever done in any of your productions thus far.

Anthony laughed into his mic then. “I kid you not, we all have a video around twenty minutes long of Y/N doing the motion capture from the gag reel. And it’s hilarious,” he sighed at the end and earnt a laugh from the crowd.

“It wasn’t easy, man,” you whined, “but– but when I had to do scenes that required a more realistic build, I was saved the embarrassment and actually we had my dog, D/N, do all the motion capture for that.”

A photo of your German Shepherd appeared on the screen above, your arms encircled around them, their head tilted and long tongue hung from their mouth.

“They’re so cute!” a fan in the crowd shouted and you chuckled. “Damn adorable, I love them. I had to be on guard, I was scared Chris would take them home.”

Chris leaned over in his seat, hand slapped to his chest with a toothy grin as he cackled to himself. “I love that dog so much, what can I say?”

The fan thanked you for your time and walked back to their seat. The next fans were two girls, again around the age of college students walked up together. “Hi!” one of them greeted and the other looked incredibly shy, her friend held her close around the shoulders.

“Hey there, how are you?” you asked again. You always asked how the fans were, a habit that was just natural. Human. Kind.

“We’re good thanks. Uh, so this is my friend, Taylor,” she said and indicated to the other girl next to her. She waved and mumbled a meek hello into the mic. Your cheeks folded out into a smile, adoring the girl’s shyness. It was adorable. “And it’s her birthday and I want to ask if you could give her a little birthday present as your character, C/N, please? And with a cherry on top, add your wolf voice?”

Your tongue danced over your teeth as fans left, right and centre cheered and hollered. You could tell it was as much wanted by them as the fans asking for it themselves. “Just out of curiosity, who else is here for their birthday?” you asked and quite a large amount clapped in answer, a view yelled their response.

“Okay, so you can consider this a gift to you guys as well.” You sat forward and rolled your shoulders, getting into the mind of your character.

“Happy Birthday, Taylor.” You stopped to let the fans burn out their screams before you continued. “Told you, marriage proposals all of them,” Robert commented just as you went to speak and you broke out of character for a moment, face palming your hand.

“Go on, Wolfie, you gotta appease the fans,” Robert uttered with a wave of his hand to usher you on.

“I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Wanna play fetch some… sometime in the park?” Despite the momentary hiccup, unable to contain the embarrassed giggle in your throat as your face brightened, you finished.

Even some of your castmates imitated getting flustered, even Lizzie herself fanned her face. Taylor hid her face in her palms and her friend thanked you.

The other beauty of your performance was that the sound editors had little to do with mixing your vocals for the werewolf voices, you had a knack for making it naturally guttural and animalistic.

Anthony snickered playfully. “So I think we can agree that Y/N “Wolfie” has taken over the panel. Can we get a shout or clap if you enjoyed Y/N’s performance of C/N?”

You don’t know how it was possible, but that was the loudest you’d heard the fans.

I'm very happy that What If season two came out but the "Why is there more Peggy if Sam is Cap" slander is back on Tiktok and it's unbearable.

Peggy is the main focus of What If... Sam is getting a film, Sam will be in multiple films, he is Captain America. Peggy isn't Captain America, she is Captain Carter. Give Peggy an animated show and a five issue comic series, Sam literally has been in comics as C.A. for years and will be billed as a headliner for the next few phases.

Also, tbh, and I really love Hayley Atwell, but I have a feeling she's more available for a tv show than Anthony Mackie. He's a bigger star than she is.

Oh my gosh, such a good question to ask! 😆 A very hard one too Cassie, lemme think on this 🤔

Okay, a few things that would be a must would be:

A "Meanwhile, on the boat..." moment, or perhaps a montage of moments where things are happening throughout the MCU movies that happened post-TFATWS and Sam and Bucky are just 😂 on the boat, hearing about the events after the fact. I keep thinking about the scene in season 7 of Supernatural where they montage Dean commenting on what Castiel does with his new godlike powers while Dean fixes his car, but it doesn't have to be like that (3:16-3:46 here for reference lol).

Sam needs to save Bucky from falling. Sam had someone he couldn't save in the air. Bucky didn't have anyone to save him when he fell. Sam and Bucky both need that catharsis and it's wild that didn't happen in the first season.

Sam flying around as Bucky snipes at things 😂 Again - how did that not happen in the first season?

Sam and Bucky must either be already roommates or looking for an apartment which will be the place they will live in together.

Sarah, AJ, and Cass must be in it as well as other people we've seen like Carlos, Tommy, Isaiah, and Eli.

Another song by Curtis Harding must close the show's next sunset ending (it MUST be a good ending where they look into the sunset again, I'm sorry, I don't make the rules). Perhaps Can't Hide It by Curtis Harding?

Joaquín! There must be more Jay, I refuse to believe there wouldn't be so much more Jay in a season two.

FLASHBACKS. WHERE. WERE. THE. FLASHBACKS. Gimme Sam and Riley flashbacks, flashbacks of Sam with his family, gimme more info on Sam.

Can we???? Get more info on Sarah too???? Like was she married before??? Who are Cass and AJ's dad or dads??? How does she feel about Sam disappearing for a huge chunk of years??? I just want to know more about her.

Acknowledgment that Sam found Bucky in Europe but kept Bucky's secret and visited Bucky. Also that Sam visited Bucky during his time as a goatherder in Wakanda, possibly with a reference to the costco tub of lube 😂

MORE EPISODES. GIVE US MORE EPISODES. GIVE US TEN EPISODES AT LEAST, YOU COWARDS.

Things I can live without but I think would be a waste if they aren't in a hypothetical season two:

A huge and exciting action sequence during a New Orleans Mardi Gras Parade with Sam being the King of that parade.

There's a team of villainous jugglers in the Marvel comics called the Death-Throws. I really want them as secondary comedic villains who may or may not be kind of good people a la Jessie, James, and Meowth from Team Rocket in Pokemon movies. Just let Sam and Bucky have some comedy villains in the background doing their thing, Marvel.

Visiting Steve on the Moon. I just think Sam and Bucky deserve space shenanigans. I will also take a Facetime, if that's too out of budget, though.

Misty Knight cameo where Sam and Misty either imply or outright talk about being exes. Probably amicable, though, it would be funny if Sam's a bit awkward about it, but Misty's chill with him.

Karli resurrection. She deserved more of a redemption arc than Walker. Bring her back to life, Disney, I dare you.

Bucky and Falcon!Redwing don't get along. More because Bucky is jealous than anything else.

A VISIT TO WAKANDA! Do they go to Birnin Zana? Do they visit the town Bucky was living in as a goatherder? Do they go to Ayo and Aneka's home for dinner? Maybe they possibly only let Sam into the country while Ayo is like "I told you to lie low for a while, White Wolf" to Bucky 😂

Baron Zemo can have a cameo, if only because Anthony Mackie was bummed that Daniel Brühl isn't a part of Cap 4.

Wildest Options I Don't Think Would Happen But I Would Love:

SamBucky wedding. It all takes place the days leading up to their wedding. Or, if I'm being more realistic, a wedding. Like, if, say Sarah and Rhodey were getting married or Carol and Valkyrie or perhaps Ayo and Aneka.

SamBucky kiss? Though, again, highly doubt that and I'm really okay with SamBucky not being canon.

Fourth wall break where Feige himself walks into a room, sits down, and apologizes about how he treated Sam Wilson's character in the MCU and promises to do better. He pulls out an entire slide show and the episode is just him talking about how he will be integrating Sam more thoroughly into the MCU. I'm talking how specifically Sam will cameo, where he will cameo, pitches for other projects Sam will be heavily tied to, the works.

Not romantic chemistry, but overall onscreen chemistry...

I think in Marvel Chris basically had chemistry with everyone.

Actually, I think if he was still in the franchise they might actually be doing better. A while back on twitter fans were reminiscing how the old Marvel OGs vibed and hit way better than the new generation. People were saying Chris had fun with virtually everyone he was paired up with during those Avengers press tours and there was always laughter and hilarity in those interviews he participated in. His personality was just inviting and charismatic and I really think it rubbed off on a lot of people. Not everyone, but the majority. And I think now that he's no longer there, there is a hole.

He and RDJ really had chemistry. Hemsworth. Scarlett. Renner. Elizabeth Olsen. Chadwick.

Danai and him didn't have too many scenes on camera but IRL they vibed very well.

While not everyone appeared to get along with Brie Larsen when she first showed up, her and Chris vibe well.

Him and Don Cheadle have great hilarious snarky banter.

Even him and Frank Grillo - everyone has to hate on the whole Hydra thing but they actually had chemistry. It was weird but interesting. Makes that whole dynamic also intriguing and terrible.

Anthony Mackie and Chris have excellent chemistry. IMHO, Steve and Sam's friendship was one of my favorites - they immediately lit up the screen upon first meeting. I wish they explored that friendship more when they could have.

Outside of Marvel, I think Chris has great chemistry with Octavia Spencer. I also thought he did better with Betty Gabriel in Defending Jacob than Michelle Dockery. Maybe because Betty's character wasn't his wife and he just does better when he's teaming up with someone or portraying a friendship or even a nemesis.

Bryce Dallas Howard and him did pretty well. I think she's a really good actress too and that pairing of their characters actually worked for me.

Overall, I thought Chris and everyone else in Knives Out had great chemistry. Not a single miss IMHO. I also think that was one of the best casts of modern times. I'm a bit confused, annoyed, and irritated as to why they didn't get a Best Ensemble Cast nomination.

I agree with all this. No one has to ever complained about him on set. Everyone seems to get along with him well. He just can’t fake being in love 🤷🏻‍♀️ being a love interest is his weakness.

I just saw this article and I'm somehow even more disappointed.

But it turns out no one warned Captain America himself that a very personal piece of his history was about to be broadcast to the world. "I laughed my ass off," Ruffalo tells EW. "I'm like, 'Does someone need to talk to Captain America about this?' I haven't. I was afraid he was going to have it cut. Too late now, buddy. The cat's out of the bag."

Like... yes? He would have it cut because it's such bullshit? The fact that Chris who genuinely cares about Steve and who played that character for ten years wouldn't approve should've been an indicator.

Reducing Steve to jokes about his virginity is such a cheap shot. Avoiding that Sam is Captain America is too. I don't even know anymore.

My friend.... this is really funny, because I also just read this article today, and I was all geared up to write a rant about it when you popped into my inbox 😂

This is one of the most asinine articles I've ever read 🤣🤣🤣 and I've read quite a few in regards to certain characters in the MCU.

First to address your point about Chris Evans-- I do feel pretty bad for him. I think he genuinely connected to and cared about Steve Rogers as a character. From the interviews in which he talks about Steve, and particularly Steve's relationship with Bucky, I can tell he really put a lot of thought into Steve's heart and frame of mind, and I think he really made MCU Steve Rogers his. Certainly any new film incarnations of Steve will be measured up against Chris' interpretation, haha.

It's just... I don't think Chris would have wanted Steve to be disrespected like this. Ruffalo himself said he thought Chris would have put a stop to it. So it's distasteful that everyone would just go ahead and make obsessing over Steve's virginity a big part of Jennifer's character while laughing at it all the while. (I can't read Chris Evans' mind-- maybe he doesn't care, though I like to think he does.) As a big fan of Steve, Disney has not failed to disappoint me time after time, and this is just the icing on the cake.

And Sam, our new Captain America! Why does the MCU seem to forget that they have a new Captain America? Is it because they're spending all their energy marketing another Captain? 🤔 You'd think he would be of more note to a Manhattan lawyer's mind since he stopped freedom fighters antifa terrorists from killing the GRC members? Hell the Hollywood Reporter forgot and Chris had to remind them. I do feel bad for Anthony Mackie. 🤦 Silver lining-- at least She Hulk isn't obsessing over Sam's virginity??

And yes, I do agree that reducing Steve to jokes about his ass and virginity are a cheap shot. And it shows how puerile and insipid the MCU has become. They have nothing of note to say and they grab for anything that they think is funny, to the point of making jokes of their most beloved characters. I know they're aiming for the widest audience imaginable, including kids, but that doesn't mean they need to write like high schoolers (though tbh I know fanficcers in high school that write better than these guys). What mature adult honestly gives a such a huge crap about whether or not a (thought to be) deceased public figure and national hero had sex?

The first paragraph had me rolling my eyes already:

Jennifer Walters is the hero we all deserve, because in the very first episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, she finally gets to the bottom of one of Marvel's biggest mysteries: Did Captain America die a virgin?

And it just gets worse.

As She-Hulk continues, viewers can expect to see more hilarious, meta, and, yes, horny moments like this. "The horniness! That stuff is my favorite," Maslany says with a laugh. She loved how Jen is obsessed with Captain America's virginity because "it's the human side of him, the real side, the thing that she would [relate to]."

You're telling me that Jennifer Walters, a lawyer whose opening scene showed her practicing her closing argument for a case against powerful business interests that caused the deaths of innocent people-- that Jennifer Walters, who was standing up for the little guy-- that this strong, compassionate woman, is "obsessed" with Captain America's virginity of all things because it's the "human, real" side of him that she would relate to?? Not the side of him that stood up against bullies at great detriment to his own well-being, even before he had the serum? Not the side of him that curled over a grenade to protect his fellow soldiers? The side that went into a Nazi death camp solo to rescue his best friend (and hundreds of other POWs) when the army left them for dead? The side of him that leveled a Nazi-infested US intelligence agency? The side of him that did exactly what she was shown to be doing right at the beginning of her own show??

I think @luna-rainbow said it best-- "to reduce “the human side of Steve” (or anyone, for that matter) to whether or not they fucked…is seriously superficial, intrusive and just pathetic."

But the actress admits she had no idea this was something Marvel fans have been wondering for years, adding, "I love that that's how everybody's thinking. In that vein of that question, there's a lot more Easter eggs like that throughout the season. There's something later that's a really great moment with a cameo that I won't say what happens, but it's basically like a walk of shame that's really funny."

I shudder to imagine what horrors await us.

And if any fans are wondering how credible Bruce's intel is, the debate can be put to rest: This is officially the true story of how Captain America lost his virginity. "We didn't set out thinking that we were going to be able to answer it," Gao tells EW. "It used to just be a running joke, that it's going to be a lifelong obsession for Jen, that this is the one thing that keeps her awake at night. It actually used to be in the show a lot more, where in every episode there would be some little reminder, like you'd see that her search history was this, and she was always in asides talking to other characters where everybody's reaction was like, 'She's talking about this again.'"

You're kidding me right? Does nobody on this team see how creepy it is for a grown woman to be obsessed lifelong with a dead man's sex life? Compare it to a random male character obsessing every night over whether or not Natasha had been a virgin when she died. And for this to be the thing that keeps her awake at night? Out of all the things she's experienced??

But then Gao got the definitive answer — and permission to use it — from Marvel's mastermind. "It was actually Kevin Feige who said, 'I know the answer. I can tell you. We can do the answer,'" Gao recalls. "And I was like, 'You have the answer, and we can tell everyone?' And he was like, 'Yeah.' So this is Marvel canon. This is straight from Kevin Feige."

SO IT WAS YOU, KEVIN FEIGE!!! Honestly when I read this I almost felt relieved. If it's Feige's own fatuous headcanon, I can ignore it. Why does the status of Steve Rogers' virginity take up so much of his headspace that he feels the need to insert it into a show that has nothing to do with him? And they were going to have it in every episode? Why?! PLEASE tell me they aren't doing that anymore. I don't want anyone in the MCU to ever utter Steve's name again.

My question is this: why does Marvel seem to have no faith in Mackie/Sam Wilson? TFatWS did decent. People liked it. People liked Sam finally fully becoming Captain America. If there are problems with CA4, it has to do with script and direction, not with Mackie having no ability to carry the film. He has presence.//

May I go a step further? Marvel, for whatever reason, has bent over backward to make Peggy/Captain Carter happen, even though she had that awful ending in Endgame.

I wish Marvel showed more dedication to Sam than they have for Peggy. She had her time; Marvel give this love to Sam.

If Chris does step back as “our” Steve, that would be a big slap in the face to Anthony. I despise Chris, given the last two years, but this would knock him further down the board for me.

I'm going to say something that some people may find offensive. I don't mind Peggy. In fact, I really liked her tv series, and wished it had gotten another season to explore the early days of the Red Room. I wasn't offended by her inclusion in Endgame, and thought the problem with it was not her character, but the fact that the writers completely undid Steve's character development to force in that "happy ending."

I didn't mind Captain Carter in Dr Strange 2; I thought it was a decent twist to reference our universe's Avengers without using a Steve Rogers variant. I can also see why Marvel would have made that decision just from a business standpoint, as it was probably far cheaper to get Hayley than other Marvel actors.

I don't see that DS:MoM cameo role by Peggy as stepping on Mackie/Sam Wilson in any way, anymore than I see the other cameo roles in that segment as doing so.

so i watched a movie called Half Nelson last night, for which Ryan Gosling was nominated for an Oscar in 2006. it's about a middle school teacher struggling with a drug addiction who forms a deeply inappropriate relationship friendship with one of his students after she catches him using.

i have no pertinent craft thoughts about this film (you can read my Ryan Gosling Summer craft essays in this month's newsletter) but my notes for this particular movie became as unhinged as the movie itself, and i thought i'd share them.

because my handwriting is mostly illegible, i've provided a translation and context below each note.

Jesse Pinkman vibes

Calculator watch!

Dan (Gosling) is basically a proto Jesse Pinkman in this movie. and he wears a calculator watch. it's worth noting that during the sex scene later, there is an inordinate amount of attention placed on said watch, and i honestly can't tell if that's supposed to be funny or not.

Gets high, goes to a bar, starts lecturing girls about pedagogy

this is the only part of the movie where i liked Dan, because i too lecture on pedagogy when i'm high.

Broken Social Scene ass soundtrack

just found out that Broken Social Scene did in fact score the film.

"I cleaned up," he says before railing a line of cocaine

no context needed.

"Are you a communist?"

"It's just not cool to be a Nazi anymore, baby."

This is so hard to watch.

i don't know how to provide context for this. i had such profound secondhand embarrassment that i could barely keep watching. the succession of events goes something like: Dan has sex with a woman who asks him the next morning if he's a communist. they have a conversation about politics. we skip to a middle school dance/mixer where Dan dances very inappropriately with the 13 year old he's "befriended," Drey. by this point the movie makes it very clear that their relationship is inappropriate. Dan gets high behind the school building and offers to give Drey a ride home, but she goes with Frank (Anthony Mackie) who is a drug dealer but a way better guy than Dan, even though he's trying to get her to sell drugs for him. Frank is trying to save Drey from Dan; Dan is trying to save Drey from Frank. the next day, Dan gets a nosebleed in class and later comes home to find his cat dead? for some reason? i don't know. it's all so painful.

to pass the time i created this handy little chart, which puts Ken (Barbie) and Lars (Lars and the Real Girl) in the likable/good quadrant, with K (Blade Runner 2049) and Noah (The Notebook) slightly below them, Sierra Six (The Gray Man) and Dean (Blue Valentine) in the likable/bad quadrant, Jacob Palmer (Crazy Stupid Love) in the bad/unlikable quadrant (sorry i know i have followers who love this movie but womanizing just really pisses me off, even though he does grow as a character by the end), and Dan Dunne (Half Nelson) in the good/unlikable quadrant, even though i kind of changed my mind by the end of the movie.

i forgot Handsome Luke (Place Beyond the Pines) and the driver (Drive), but i think they'd both be close to the center but in the bad/likable quadrant.

For all this movie's faults, burnout drug addict middle school teacher Ryan Gosling pouring an entire pot of coffee into a thermos is a LOOK.

this scene had very little context and i have none to add.

still bored, i made a checklist. Ryan Gosling's characters are always at least three of these, with "shirtless" and "mommy issues" prevailing. also "cute blonde girl" isn't a description as much as a flat character type that fascinates me.

HE BUYS FROM HER WTF WTF WTF

okay during what i found to be a both boring and torturous film, a scene happens that made me go "oh, i get why he was nominated for an Oscar for this." Frank has gotten Drey to start selling for him, and she goes to a motel to drop off, where she finds two sex workers, some random guy, and her history teacher, Dan. this is the third time she's caught him using but he's always kind of guilty and apologetic about it, and my interpretation is that a lot of their "friendship" has to do with him trying to earn back her admiration. but this time, he's on the bathroom floor and he just gives her this look, the patented Ryan Gosling "i'm in love with you" look which is probably why he's the romantic lead in so many things, and hands her a wad of cash. and it's so wildly fucked up to see that look used in this context, weaponized, because it's not to her, it's to the baggie she's holding.

the whole movie is very much a critical commentary on white savior narratives. i have no idea if it's a successful commentary, or even if it's a good movie, but i can safely say i've never seen anything like it. i don't think it's aged well, overall i don't think it's Gosling's best performance even though many people believe it is, and i absolutely don't recommend it.

As it happens, I've been having an ongoing pre-sleep Evanstan fantasy recently that's similar to this? Imagine established actor Chris, much like he is irl but a little older, going to his actor pal Anthony Mackie's house for a 4th of July party and meeting slightly bratty twink Sebastian: the nephew of the guy who helped Mackie design his house, who tagged along to this party because hey, free booze and hot famous people! Of course Chris immediately spots Sebastian and asks Mackie, "Who's the kid?" and Mackie's like "Uh, I think his name is like Jonathan or something? Or no wait, Sebastian, I think. Why? *suspicious face*"

Chris is like, "Hm, no reason", even though he, in fact, definitely has a reason, and the reason is that this kid (who is still clearly of age, of course) is an absolute vision with his messy hair and his indecently low cut shirt and the bedroom eyes he's giving Chris from across the lawn... You know Seb would pull out all the stops to get Chris to come over and hit on him, from wrapping his mouth around his beer bottle and drinking while keeping eye contact, to tugging at his shirt to flash a bit of nipple...

Little does he know that Chris was gonna come over anyway and he's just waiting to see what else this kid will come up with, because he's highly entertained not to mention low key turned on by how obvious Sebastian is about wanting to get dicked the fuck down, preferably by Chris, and as soon as possible. Meanwhile Chris is very much enjoying making him wait a little, and already planning on teaching Seb a thing or two about delayed gratification...

Oh man I have many more thoughts about what happens next but I think I'll save them for now in case I'm actually writing this fic at some point because loooorddd do I want to 🥵

You had already been feeling off but getting the texts and calls that your great aunt had died messed you up more than you thought it would. You cried and cried in the tub with your mom on the phone. You don’t have a close relationship to her but for some reason you just needed her.

You should have went to movie night but you wanted time to think about everything. You loved doing movie night when RDJ was in charge but you weren’t ready for anyone.

Bing

SEB- “Hey sweetheart. Are you ok? Chris and I are missing you right now. Want me to come get you?”

Through tear filled eyes you read the message. You wanted to be around them for comfort but you didn’t wanna bring down the room

So you just ignore it

You took you medicine for your condition and anxiety meds that relax you. Closing your eyes hurt from crying so much then trying to get your contacts out.

Right now you just wanted well NEEDED to little space. Chris, Seb, and Anthony all knew about it they kept your secret.

After coming out the shower you put hempz lotion on you then put one of Chris shirts on with your panties, and Seb’s socks. They weren’t your boyfriends but their scents calmed you. You snuggle up with you paci, blankie and unicorn hopeful to relax and get rid of the emotional pain.

“Did she reply yet?” Chris asked in a worried tone. He won’t admit it to anyone but he is in love with y/n. He loves your smile, laugh, witty comments, unruly curly hair. She makes his day better when he sees her.

“No, which makes me worried. I know what she use to do in the past and I’m worried”. Seb replied looking at his phone for the 6th time.

He knew something made her sad and feel off. He was aware of her being a little was to cope and wondered if she was doing it now alone to refocus herself. Everyone has their own kink in life but hers intrigued him very much. The idea of just taking care to help relax was a great mechanism and a lot less self destructive then drugs or alcohol.

RDJ could see the worry on his friend’s faces and knew they wouldn’t enjoy the movie night ritual unless they checked on her. “Guys go check on your girl. She never misses these things and if she isn’t responding there actually might be something wrong.”

The guys agreed. They ask Mackie if he wanted to go and he happily tagged along. Since filming the movie they were like brother and sister in real life even though their characters were siblings. Everyone thought it really made it life like at how they acted with jokes and pranks but still supportive.

They wave their good byes then walk over to her trailer. **knock knock**. No noise comes from knocking and they were just about to leave when they heard the crying.

In all of the times they have been with her never heard any tears. She is mumbling but still crying. **knock knock**. Seb knocked again but much harder

“Hold on i have a spare key to her trailer” Anthony says as he reaches in his pocket. He quickly figures out which is yours and unlocks then let Seb and Chris in.

The living room looked the same but the guys looked for the source of the sound. Didn’t take long to figure out where it was coming from.

Y/n was snuggled up with a unicorn and hello kitty blanket. Chris knew automatically that she was self soothing. Whatever was going on had to be serious. He does breathing exercises that help sooth his anxiety.

While studying her beautiful position, Seb walked close enough to her to know she is crying and making herself sleepy.

“Bunny. Baby bunny. Are you ok? Seb asked in a semi serious tone.

His look made her feel worse. Pleading eyes to her guys. Chris sensed her need for touch so he went to the other side of the bed and pulled her close him with her head in his neck. He rocks you for a while and watches how you

were slowly closing your eyes and your breathing steady.

After a few more minutes she was peaceful sleeping nuzzling closer into Chris’ chest. Your tears soaked his shirt but he didn’t care. “She’ll tell us when she is ready. Can’t push because it has got to be traumatic” Chris states as he was smelling her as if he was trying to remember her.

“Agreed, she looks peaceful now that she has stopped crying. Has she said anything to you two?” Mackie asked.

Both men shake their heads at the question trying to figure out what has you like this. “I wish I knew but I just don’t like her like this.” Seb states as he paces the trailer for any signs that might be out along with getting her sippy cup filled.

Chris and Mackie looked at him and sigh knowing he won’t drop it. “Not. Until. She’s. Ready. She probably hasn’t processed it enough to say anything.”

“Fine. But I just want her to be ok. What kind of medicine is Gabapentin for?” Seb asks while making sure the pills were hers. He didn’t think she was on drugs but he would rather be safe then sorry.

“Honestly, no clue. Mackie you are awfully quiet. Do you know?” Chris questioned.

“It’s not for me to tell. When she wakes you two can ask her. That’s my sister pretty much I’m not telling her secrets.” Mackie says. “Will you two be ok with her or do you want me to stay? I’m starving.”

Chris and Seb shake their heads as Mackie goes over to kiss the top of her head as he leaves. While she still stayed asleep she gripped Chris’ shirt tightly and whimpered.

“Bunny. Bunny baby. We are here. You are safe.” Chris says as he rubs her back in a soothing manner. He feels her body relax which makes him relax also. “Do you think she has been sleeping irregularly again?”

With a shake of a bottle they have their answer. Ambien. “I guess that is a yes. I told her to call me.”

“I told her also but it doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to feel like a burden. Also probably why she never texted you back Seb.”

“How are you so calm right now?” Seb asks

Chris shrugs his shoulders. “I don’t know. Having her so close to me like this at least makes me know she is safe.”

“True. I’m just gonna try to realize she isn’t alone but with us. And one of us will be here when she wakes.”

Three hours later.

You felt hot. Really hot. You try to kick off the blankets but feel arms surrounding you. Last thing you remembered before going to sleep was tears but then comfort. One whiff makes you realize it was Chris.

“Hey Bunny.”

His gentle tone was comforting and helped you stay in the little headspace. A very small and shy, “hellos.” Was heard. Had he not been holding his breathe he would have missed it.

The look of comfort led to your body becoming tense. He lets you pull away only long enough to stroke your cheek. Rustling behind you made you jump until you felt Seb’s hand on the back of your back.

He offered you a juice filled sippy and took it and snuggled back into Chris. “Hey Bunny. I know you are feeling little but can you tell us why you were crying.”

She felt Chris’ body tense at asking that question. She shook her head no and Seb nodded. “Ok. How about what are there for?”holding the body of Gabapentin.

Deep down she knew she couldn’t and shouldn’t hide it from her two best friends. She was glad Mackie had kept that secret for her. But just didn’t want things to change.

You sat up and moved off of Chris to sit in between her best guy friends. She hadn’t put much thought into her outfit but the men saw it and liked it a lot.

A small yawn left your mouth as you clutched your blankie tighter. “I have a cyst in my spinal cord. If I don’t take it I go numb in the left side.”

Two sets of beautiful blue eyes are piercing her with shock and sadness. You continued, “between the last two movies I woke up numb one day and they found it. There is no cure so we manage it. It acts up a lot when I stress. Sooooo . . . Right now I’m in a lot of pain. My great aunt passed away today.”

“Oh bunny why didn’t you tell us sooner? We want to help you manage.” Chris questioned.

You shrug your shoulders. “Pride. I don’t want to be a burden on anyone. And having this cyst I didn’t want to be handled with kid gloves with I’m big. “

They nod in understanding but they knew how Chadwick had done it. Secretly because he wanted to be treated as an equal.

“And my great aunt and I weren’t close it just makes me miss my nana I lost a few years ago. She was one of my biggest supporters in life. Might have been the favorite grandchild because her first name is my middle name”. You stated with a small grin.

Seb looked at your current state; you looked calmer but tired. “Bunny. We care about you so much and we want to be that shoulder to cry on. Just let us in. We won’t bite.”

“You guys are great friends you know that right?” You replied kind of wishing one or both of them would be your daddy. They knew you like the back of their hand. Chris is just your teddy bear if comfort while Seb is a small worry wart but it just means he cares.

Seb grabs your hand. “Bunny has it been harder to manage with no Daddy?”

“Yes. I haven’t found someone I trust enough to be a daddy. And the few I’ve met I feel are off limits.” You stated trying to keep your eyes and voice level.

“I mean Seb and I have been talking about that and we want to fill that role if you want us to. You’re our best gal and while we don’t know all the ins and outs of littlespace we’d love to know more to help you.”

Tears well up in your eyes. “Really?”

“You kind of have our hearts and we slowly been there to help out anyways so it seems like it would be a natural thing for us to fill those roles.”

Your heart grew one size bigger from Chris’s comment. You relaxed more and started snuggling more in Chris. The wave of tiredness finally hit again and your eyes were closing when an alarm went off making you jump but Chris pulled you closer and rubbed your back.

“It’s my med time again. Been trying to do better at taking it on time.”

Seb got up and grabbed the bottle and an applesauce packet. “Well, you have us now so how about you take this little bunny then we can go to sleep. You look so sleepy.”

A small escaped you as you stretched a little and rubbed your eyes. “Ok daddy.” You said it in an unsure tone because you just didn’t know if they were ready.

He gives your a kiss on the head while reading directions then handing you a pill. “Bunny you ready for the airplane?”

With no objections you opened your mouth as he placed the pill on your tongue then handed you an apple sauce packet. You swallowed earning praise from both men.

“We are so proud of you Bunny. Who do you want to stay?” Chris asked.

You were falling into your space and didn’t want to talk yet but just reached for both me. You couldn’t explain it but they balance you out.

“Ok pumpkin just for tonight in here maybe tomorrow in a bigger bed.” Chris said making sure everyone has room. While he did that Seb sent Mackie a text that she was alright now and locked the trailer door and turned off the lights it was alone 11 at night but she needed sleep.

While both men were busy you got in the middle of the bed with your blanket and plushie and trying to search for your paci. You got tired and gave up and started to close your eyes again when you feel something at your lips.

“Bunny do you want this?” Chris asked as he had found the paci and rinsed it off. A quick nod from you and a smile as you happily accepted it.

“Good girl.” He stated as he pulls you closer to him as he places your head on his chest. In the past it has always been his favorite thing because you always fell asleep.

Silence fell as everyone was getting comfortable and ready and that is ok. Seb finally got in and asked y/n a question. “Honey have you set an alarm and eaten?”

No movement or sound was made and Chris finally looked down to see you were fast asleep with your paci flittering every so often.

“I don’t think so I looked at schedules the other morning her call time isn’t until noon.” Chris replied in a hushed tone.

“Ok good. I want our baby bunny to get better.” Seb replied.

“She will be. She’s got not one but two daddies. She’s a lucky little one.”

Chapter 8- us

You’ve got a part in the new captain America film, during filming the directors have asked the lead actors to live together to build chemistry. What you didn’t expect was to find yourself in a relationship with Sebastian Stan, you thought everything was going well till one date night Sebastian breaks up with you.

A/N: here we are second to last chapter, what a journey this has been. Here’s your more happier chapter. I also had to cut off some of the chosen song quote as I didn’t want to spoil the ending of the chapter. Apologises for all spelling and grammatical mistakes as I’m super dyslexic, enjoy

Can we make this better? Cause I’m losing hope. Tell me how to be in this world, tell me how to breathe in and feel no hurt.

The months following the wrap party was the calm you needed. Filming was over so you were no longer confined within the prison that house became within the last three weeks of living there. Stepping foot into your new apartment felt amazing, your shoulders felt lighter no longer carrying the weight of your crushing heartache, like you could finally breathe again.

You and Jamie both agreed to share a two bedroom apartment in LA, realistically as two new up and coming actors you can’t yet afford your own place. Plus you and Jamie were inseparable it just made sense.

“Mmm this couch is amazing, it’s the nicest one I’ve ever sat on. Jamie you’re a couch god” you sighed feeling all the built up stress in your muscles melt away. “I’m never leaving this couch” “I don’t remember inviting Antony Mackie as my roommate” Jamie joked rolling his eyes in your direction. “Now help me unpack these groceries”.

Life was a lot more simpler, easier when it was just you and Jamie. You both cooked for each other or went to the same cheap bar every Friday night which would result in you both drinking an ungodly amount of caffeine to aid your roaring hangovers, or both sitting on the couch after a long day rewatching friends or the office something light hearted and something comforting.

It was days like these that made it more bearable. Sure it was torturous in the beginning especially as the moments after the kiss at the wrap party.

“Honey what’s wrong?” His face contorted in confusion the way it once did on that night Sebastian broke up with you. Shock flooded all your senses it held your response captive in your throat unable to escape. “Y/N please answer me” he pleaded grabbing your shoulder in order to make you speak. “Is she okay?” Amy questioned in concern seeing all the colour draining from your face. “H-he kissed me” you stuttered still in the full throws of shock. “I’m going to kill him!” “Jamie I know you want his head on a spike and trust me I do too, I want nothing more than to kill him. But right now we need to make sure our friend is okay, now Y/N what happened?”

You choked out what just happened, body shaking in disbelief. “I don’t want to hurt Daisy she’s innocent in this” Both Jamie and Amy enclosed you in a hug “Honey, Daisy won’t think that you’re in the wrong, he was the one who kissed you. He was the one in the relationship, he’s to blame not you” comforted Jamie holding you close. “So another round?” Amy suggested

Now it felt easier to cope with the pain, you still yearn for him. You know that you’ll always love him but you now know that it’s time for you to move on.

Both you and Jamie sat opposite each other at the table finishing up your food, Chinese takeout as you were both too hungover from the night before to cook anything . “I’ve never tried orange chicken before coming into this country but now I’m obsessed” Jamie moaned lifting his chopsticks to his lips. You hummed in agreement chewing on your egg roll. Both of your phones buzzed in unison, you both stared at each other eyebrows raised In confusion, why did someone message you both at the same time?

You looked over at your phone, the Instagram alert said: Anthony Mackie’s birthday sushi

You checked the chat in anticipation to see his name. Relief flooded over you seeing that it was only you, Jamie and Mackie in the chat.

“Are you two coming it’s this Saturday?” “Count me in” “I suppose I can make it if I don’t have anything better to do” “Wow thanks Jamie, I feel so loved” “He’s kidding we’ll both be there”

“I’m glad that he didn’t invite Sebastian” You sighed in relief, placing your phone down on the table. “Same, they definitely have some plans considering he’s Mackie’s best friend”

You both walked towards the restaurant, with a big smile plastered on your face as you liked Mackie and your glad that he hasn’t stopped your friendship due to Sebastian’s mistakes. It was 2pm you were hungry for sushi but also to catch up with Mackie as it’s been six months since filming ended.

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me” Jamie growled, you could feel the steam of his anger radiating from his skin.

You entered the restaurant and that was where your heart dropped, you felt sick you needed a way to escape.

There he was laughing with Mackie across from him in the booth.

Jamie darted towards the booth, “Anthony, what the fuck!” Jamie spat. “Alright calm down, I know you’re both angry-“ “That would be an understatement” you sarcastically stated “I just want to speak to you, can I speak to you please?” Sebastian begged “I owe you an explanation”

Jamie clutched your arm close to him, “You don’t have to do this you know? We can run out of here” “I have to speak to him at interviews and during press night, I might as well rip the band aid off now and get this over with”

“ Jamie could you join me outside?” Anthony asked getting up from the booth. Jamie said nothing but gave Sebastian another one of his death stares and walked towards the door.

“How have you been?” He asked voice shaking with nerves. “Seb just get on with it, I have no business in being your friend, we’re past that ever since you kissed me behind your girlfriend’s back” He gulped, his eyes looked away from yours, “Me and Daisy broke up” he sighed rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m sorry” “Don’t be, I broke up with her” You clenched your jaw and rolled your eyes at his pattern of breaking hearts. “I did it because of you”

That stopped you dead in your tracks, like a deer in headlights your eyes grew wide. “What?” You stuttered in disbelief, then anger grew through your voice, “don’t blame me for your break up when it’s your fault!”

He sighed, “Y/N, I broke up with you as I stupidly thought that the press and media were going to tear into me and into our relationship because of our age gap. I’ll be known as a disgusting creep who only goes after younger girls, when in reality I only date people who I can genuinely see a future with. I let my own ego and pride take priority over our relationship and I’m sorry”

You tilted your head and scrunch your face in annoyance. “ I don’t see why I have to do with your relationship being over?, that’s not an excuse for breaking my heart!”

“My PA said that I should start dating someone and suggested Daisy as she’s nearer my age and has a reputable name in the modelling world, I allowed my PA to get into my head. She said for the sake of my career I shouldn’t chase after someone who’s ten years younger. I was selfish and only thinking of myself and not how badly you would hurt. I still love you Y/N, so at the party I saw you walking away from me and I couldn’t bare it, I couldn’t live in a world without you there. Yes I was in a relationship, I was selfish and I hurt two people but I just wanted you. After that night I broke up with Daisy”

“Does she know about us?” He nodded, his eyes glanced at the table tears forming at his eyes.

You gulped loudly, feeling panic rising over you, the last thing you wanted was for Daisy to be hurt. You anxiety chipped into your brain telling you that Daisy blames you for this and it’s all your fault.

“I know you hate me Y/N” his voice trembling with the pain of his emotions, “but please give me another chance, I know I don’t deserve it. But I can’t live without you. If you say no I’ll let you go but please know that I’ll always love you”

Tears prick at your own eyes, he’s saying everything you’ve wanted to hear for months and that this is your happy ending, but your logic raged at you for the shitty way he’s treated you as he deserves to suffer the way you did. You pushed both sides aside and listened to your gut, your gut feeling decided what subconsciously you knew you wanted, allowing you to say.

“One date Seb, to see if this will work again. And I mean that we need to take this slow, start again, clean slate. We’ll have dinner to see if we can reconnect, no kissing, sex or touching me till I know for certain I’ve made the right choice” you stated, proud of yourself for standing your ground but also hoping that your gut feeling is the best decision. As now you didn’t know if this was truly the best outcome.

The smile returned to his face, his eyes still glassy. “Thank you”

Anthony and Jamie felt like it has been long enough for you two to have the conversation needed, but also slightly concerned that you didn’t kill Sebastian. God knows he deserves it but since the premier is in two months you both needed to be alive. So they both walked in to the restaurant and nervously walking towards the booth.

Jamie sat next to you and Anthony next to Sebastian.

“So what happened?” Anthony asked, half of him hoping the talk went well as he didn’t want this mess to happen on his birthday.

“I’ve decided to give Sebastian another chance, it’s just for one date to see if I’ve made the right choice” you voiced, still uncertain if this was the right call.

“Fucking hurt her like that again and I’ll gut you alive” Jamie spat, Sebastian’s eyes grew wide as he nodded in fear.

“Great memo received” Jamie smiled back at him.

basically just a fic where they both work for shield as shield agents (sam’s still cap, of course) but missions outside of the us, bucky convincing sam to enjoy his time when they’re done with a mission and just them basically going on a holiday for like two days before they have to go back stateside

if you don’t want to write anything like that at all, that’s totally fine, just the way you write them, the sexual tension and love is always so palpable and it’s beautiful <3
