mittens !!!! pattern X - i modified a bit because my yarn was a bit more thick, so i shortned a few rows of the colorwork & added the burnt orange details instead :)

#remember when i posted almost a month ago about a friend that commissioned some mittens #? #so yeah the one i was making initially turned out fine i suppose #i even posted the picture here #but the i noticed the sizing wasn’t right & the yarn i was using was sooo annoying to work it i just couldn’t get it right... it was also #like dyed like ombré? & the colors were a bit off. like each mitt had a different color like the weren’t even a pair... #but i was insisting too much like i undid & knitting that thing like +10 times #knitted* #so i decided so grab some yarn that i like for my mittens & that i’m already familiar with & found this pretty pattern & so!! ta-da!! #it’s so much nicer than the other one. also my friend wasn’t that specific & gave me a lot of liberty do to whatever #she gave me a general idea of the colors she liked so these are perfect #also the inspo pics she sent me all had this kinda fair isle design but at first i was a little intimidated so i barely did it on that one #first mitten that i had posted. so i’m glad i tried a diff pattern a managed to make these!!!! #anyway that’s basically what my month was all about lol worrying abt the mitts then finally finding a solution #also i got a commission from a instagram mutual to crochet a bag with that little sleepy snoopy design on it!! i’ve seen it on tumblr a few #times now & i’m excited to finish this project & finally get to it!! already bought the yarn & it’s so pretty #SO MANY TYPOS SORRY #girl knits world #knitting

chaotic monkey bot who wants to fight in underground mecha/bot tournaments and leave to become a space hero

his human sister, the daughter of failed revolutionaries who has been working her whole life to free their city from oppression and inequality, especially with the recent rumors that their planet is scheduled for destruction

and an old unearthed bot whose function is to observe & record the story of a client who meets the siblings and quickly becomes involved in their lives

#The Jinn-Bot of Shantiport #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #I really loved this #a little robot with a big personality? TWO of them? im in. #The pacing is a bit weird - the first half could honestly be a contained novella. the second half is a bit all over the place #But I’m ultimately glad to have that extra more complex part of the story #it’s like very action packed with a few dense moments especially like the infodumps about what Lina / her mother’s deal is. #which kinda makes sense on a technical level (Moku learning this all at once) but also I definitely felt a bit confused at why/how some of #the stuff that was going on was happening #I did also find every now and then weirdly worded prose took me out of it? but I can look past that #I felt the side romance was random and weird. I felt like it did a disservice to her otherwise complex character to have her just forget #her goals and values because Hot Man? #idk. it’s lampshaded a bit by being viewed through the POV who also thinks it is weird and makes no sense #but they still get together again in the end…. I would have preferred if they didn’t. #that's mostly complaints LOL but the world is so rich and interesting and i love robots that are little shits (affectionate) #queer books

Some fun facts about them: they’re native! Specifically they could be from the Salishan (but I don’t know too much so I leave it ambiguous) and are half Filipino, born and raised in British Columbia, Canada around Vancouver. They were raised by their mom and brothers, then moving to dahlia for college.

They originally planned to secure a high end job in Vancouver just going to California for school but they met David. They still visit their family as often as they can.

They’re 5’4, the shortest listener! Aklag is still beefy and could definitely throw David over their head. Their callouses are from being raised on a farm, and they’re starting to fade now.

I took them out of another story I made a while ago so I’m still trying to tweak them seamlessly so I’ll actually maybe probably not but make a backstory sheet for my listeners?

Deku to Ochako - (don’t remember which ep this is…)

One of the main reasons I like this ship (and any other ships that I ship) is because in my time on this earth, I’ve seen what kind of relationships bring true joy, and what kinds don’t. I’ve seen ‘vanilla’ be labeled as a bad thing, or a boring thing. But with genuine, human connection, it’s better to feel loved and secure in a romantic relationship (or any relationship) rather than just passion or drama or spicy or whatnot. Feeling passion is good, but it’s only one aspect of a romance that really isn’t the most important part of that connection. The drama of tension and clashing of wills without complete emotional fidelity brings insecurity in a relationship that should be your most secure place. A healthy relationship is of cooperation and selflessness, where you seek to bring joy to one another, and it can give a safe place away from anxiety and fear, etc. I know it has for me.

This is the kind of potential I see for izuocha. They genuinely care for one another. They admire each other, and are lifted up by one another. They both genuinely enjoy each other’s presence, and bring happiness to each others’ days. I’ve seen accusations of them not having much development, but I think that’s a misunderstanding of how a genuine, joyful, healthy relationship works. They don’t need to have passion or lustful longing to show romantic progression. What’s been developed between these two is trust and friendship and connection. There is attraction there, yes, but that is secondary to those more tangible aspects. They make each other happy and safe, and that is what makes real relationships last for decades.

It’s so funny to me, as a non-American, seeing all the hate about Lin Manuel Miranda being in Percy Jackson.
