he's the chill kind of best friend who makes your life so much more enjoyable just by being in it
your friendship with him is steady beyond belief
and you bring out the best in each other!!
while it may take him some time to get to know you because he's a quiet and shy guy, once he does, you get to see a different side of him compared to most people
for one, he's SO funny and he's ALWAYS cracking jokes
like he figures out your kind of humor and makes jokes in that style because he loves seeing you laugh
tbh he just loves seeing you happy and enjoying life
so he wants to get to know the things you like and partake in any and all activities you do for fun
but he always asks before doing something with you because he respects that we sometimes want to keep certain things as a solo activity :,-) he's SO respectful :,-)
when you do share things with him, he is ALL. IN.
you want to rewatch your favorite childhood tv show? he's coming over to watch it with you, and, when he's unable to come over, he'll watch episodes on his breaks and text you his reactions
he really appreciates you opening up any part of your life to him, so he treats it with the utmost care
and you do the same for him! because you also know how lucky you are to have a wonderful person sharing the things they love with you
regardless of whether you game, he will teach you how to play whatever he's into at the moment, and he'll give encouraging commentary while you learn
once you're getting better, he'll probably start to make jokes like oh, are you really gonna do THAT? interesting choice there, pal
cut to you both playing the same game for hours on end and you get so emotionally invested you both are yelling at the game and/or each other in excitement or defeat (depending on how well you're doing)
his little bookworm heart will recommend books to you out of his favorites, but he'll curate them to what you like or what he thinks you'll like <3
same with games, movies, food, etc.
he asks a lot of questions about you, your likes, your dislikes, and any trivia about you
because he's genuinely interested!!! he thinks it's so cool he gets to know someone like you <3
like he's the type of person who will ask you "what's your favorite color?" when you've both just been sitting in the same room on your phones in silence for hours someone give me quality time with wonwoo please i'm begging you
he also tells you things about himself that he doesn't share with others
he trusts you so so much and he shows he's grateful to you by giving you special parts of him
sometimes he'll text you in the morning when he wakes up from a strange dream just to tell you about it
he really values what you think, on big and small things
which is why he'll come to you if he's struggling with something, feeling low, stressed out, etc
because he knows you'll listen to all his thoughts and concerns and you'll also take the time to work through things with him
and he is the same when it comes to consoling you. he wants you to live the best life you possibly can, and he's going to do everything in his power to help you to achieve that!
he's just such a sweetheart
but don't get me wrong
with all the things he knows about you, he will use it to tease you when he's in the right mood
i can see him teasing his bestie (you) the way he messes with hoshi sometimes like he won't let you live but it's coming from a place of love lmao
if you aren't a fan of teasing, he of course won't do it, but it's really just a way for him to be playful with you :,-)
i think he'd give silly little gifts too
for your birthday, he'll buy you a trinket that represents something in your friendship
it's heartfelt, but it also makes you laugh ! like he really gave you a small snail lamp because you both had a phase where you obsessed over snails and sent cute cartoon drawings of them back and forth
omg or he gets you a lil fun fact book on something you both like so you can share weird fun facts with him every time you meet up for coffee/food and he'll pretend as though he hasn't read a bunch of them already
all in all, friendship with wonwoo is filled with intention. he's an extremely thoughtful best friend down to the tiniest details because he values you so very much <3
*cries in loving wonwoo* brb gotta go pray to the universe that i can have a wonwoo in my life

I'm currently outlining a sci-fi novel. It happens on a far future where some ecological problems are appearing, but I don't want to make it a dreadful dystopian thing in the whole story, I feel like there should be room for heartwarming moments. Do you have any advice on how to balance the stress of those big and complicated problems with moments of hope and kindness without making the external conflict feel like it's not a big deal?
I'm not sure if my English is good enough, but don't worry. I'm competent in my native language for sure.
Balancing Light Moments with Darker Themes
Even The Hunger Games--a dystopian tale where a corrupt and oppressive government forces teenagers to fight to the death in a televised event--has its lighthearted moments. In fact, even in the real world, joy and humor can find its way into the most grim backdrops. This photo of some smiling London moms taking a walk after the Blitz in World War II is a great example:
Tumblr media
So, it's important to remember that humans are capable of joy, love, and humor in the darkest of moments. The key is to find the right time for lighthearted moments and the right timing for humor. If your characters are in the middle of a magic battle that's not going well, that's probably not a good time to have one of those moments where two love interests talk at the same time and then look away bashfully. Or, another example: in a book I read ages ago, the characters were attempting a very dangerous escape from the villain. I think a character had been lost in the face-off prior to the escape, and it was very sad and scary, but as they're escaping one character stopped to admire another character's cute purse. It was so silly and out-of-place with the mood in that moment, it pulled me right out of the story. That said, to work in your lighthearted moments, mainly look for "down time" where characters are catching their breath, maybe resting or gearing up for what's to come.
Humor, on the other hand, can usually be injected even at the worst possible moment if the timing, delivery, and character are right. I think Marvel movies do this exceptionally well. This is why it's helpful to have a character who's capable of injecting a little humor and wit when it's needed.
One other way to inject a little lightheartedness into your story is to look for "silver lining" or "on the bright side" moments. These don't have to be commented on necessarily, but they can still be shown. For example, let's say your character's city was ravaged during an attack by people from another planet. Maybe in the aftermath of the battle, after people have begun to rebuild, there are vegetable gardens where crowded city streets used to be. Or, maybe a character who lost their significant other in the battle is seen getting cozy with a character who was previously single and known to be a little bit lonely.
The key with all of these is to not overdo it. Use your gut instinct to find the right moments, and the right types of moments, to lighten things up a bit.
Happy writing!

honestly guys can we like stop shitting on the Percy Jackson films? I shat on them too but I was fifteen when I understood how poorly adapted they were.
Listen if those movies had done well we would have maybe had a four or even five film series and it probably would have been entertaining okay.
Honestly with what they had to work with the first film is actually kind of decent? Making the main characters sixteen instead of twelve was okay in general, everyone except Grover's personality was roughly adapted and we got the main idea through the screen. Listen the film really streamlined a lot and made a pretty decent action adventure film on a mid budget. Maybe it wasn't that funny or as heartwarming and Annabeth's character was really bare bones but it was competent screenwriting for the most part.
The second film was where they shot themselves in the foot. Mainly because Rick Riordan in the first two books showcases his cheap sense of humor that borders on bad and the second film just really...showcases the worst of Rick Riordan's type of humor to the extreme. I won't defend the second film, especially with the early reveal and fight of Kronos, which was super stupid but I can defend the first film.
Partially I want to defend it because one, I'm getting really nostalgic for filmmaking of the 2000's and early 2010's ever since the MCU and Game of Thrones and Star Wars shat their respective beds.
I think the first Percy Jackson film produced by Twentieth Century Fox was fine. Not the best adaptation, but they got a lot of good actors for their time, the age ups were a smooth transition, the special effects were done mostly tastefully, and at least it introduced a lot of kids, myself included, to the books and to mythology in general.
And I believe that this insistence that the twenty first century films were bad (the second one is) just because, is really childish behavior.

For the dbh ask game: 3, 14, 17, 18 💙
I'm apologizing ahead of time because I ramble like hell. LOL Thank you for the ask!
3. Which character do you relate the most to?
Aaaaah, almost really hard to answer. I relate to most of the characters in the game to some degree. Grew up in a broken home like Alice, taken in & cared for people like Kara. I can go on and on but if there's a character I really, really relate to - It's probably Luther, the protector, guardian, however you want to refer to him. He really deserves more lines but I can firmly say I can relate to giving everything in my power to see those around me be safe. I won't type an essay about it because my response is long enough but I can really relate to Luther in many ways.
In a way, I've also really related to Hank lately but I don't want to trauma dump on here or make anyone worried.
14. How do you feel about Kara’s role in the game compared to her role in the Kara short?
Admitly - I'm torn. I actually love both. When I first saw the Kara Short (as a bonus in Beyond: Two Souls), I thought it was AMAZING. I remember my brother and I saying "I wish they'd turn that into a full game". Lmao, and obviously they did. However, I feel in-game Kara is faaaaaaaar different than the Kara in the short. The short is, well, short, and says what it needs to convey and shows Kara moreso as an android that just wants to live life free, whereas in the game, Kara does have those wants, but her main goal is to protect Alice. I love them both and her story in the game is very much packed with the angst I know & love... It's hard to choose which I like more but the Kara short is probably better written (let's face it, it's harder to have plot holes in a 7 minute video rather than a long video game with branching paths).
17. Favorite moments of each playable character?
Oh I have sooo many but I'll try to narrow it down to 2 for each character.
Markus: I love his introduction with Carl. I know the subtext is bad but the moment Markus does his painting, always swells my heart (I think it's partially the amazing soundtrack that gives me emotions). All of the different arts he makes are just...sooo good.
However, I also ADORE crossroads & I love Markus making his way down to blow up the ship while rescuing any androids can. Oh the music, the action, I love it lol.
Kara: There's so many moments I love with Kara. The river endings always have me sobbing my eyes out lol (even if both Alice & Kara make it). I do love the humanity in when you enter the checkpoint and the soldier hands Alice back one of her gloves. I always found it really heartwarming.
Also, Kara talking with Rose. The two just feel like really close friends and Rose cares for Alice on the same level Kara does, I feel. At the final checkpoint at the border, I love Kara finally being able to cry & getting one last hug from Rose before you hopefully make good choices. LOL
Connor: Oh man, hard to choose but I will ALWAYS laugh at Connor breaking into Hank's house via the window...then "Sumo, attack! ...good dog." It gets me every time. Connor convincing Hank to go to the Eden Club in the most sly and manipulative way - I love Russian Roulette as a chapter so much. The depressing subtext is just, *chef kiss*. I love angst & I also love humor.
Then, the chase in the nest. Watching Connor just gun it and run, doing stunts that are impossible for a human being. The music, the action, watching our RK800 dash at probably 15 or 25 mph. Idk, I love it. I'm a sucker for it everytime. I also feel obliged to mention the "I like dogs" & the interrogation sequence. I'm a sucker for interrogation scenes in movies, games, etc. (I also love his little chat sessions with Amanda).
18. Which NPC gave you the most feels?
It's hard to just pick one! Rose gives me mega feels when she brings up how hard it's been since her husband passed. Alice for - obvious reasons. Hank's self destruction, past, addiction, I've seen it irl, I've been it irl. I feel so sorry for him. North - just thinking about her history. It is sooooooooo hard not to feel bad for all the NPCs. I really can't pick one. D:
Thank you for the ask! :D

okay. i said i would write a post about how much i adore how to train your dragon 1 & 2 to balance out all the complaining about bad dreamworks movies that i've been doing, so:
i can be very indecisive at times when i try to rank and rate things. but httyd 1 and 2 are definitely both in my top 5 favorite dreamworks movies. the first movie is in my top 3, easily, because it's just a little more special to me than the second one. and then personally i have... some issues with the third movie, but god, the first two are just amazing. i think i'm mostly just gonna talk about the first one in this post since it's my favorite.
httyd 1 is a very simple story, about a boy finding his place in the world and earning his dad's acceptance through forming a forbidden friendship with a dragon. but it is so emotional and so beautifully told. every single scene matters to the story, and everything hiccup learns is used either in his training or to defeat the red death. the movie never ever feels slow or unbalanced, it all just flows perfectly. hiccup is loyal and stubborn and sassy and insecure and a genius inventor and one of the best leads in a dreamworks film. he feels so real and so well-developed. and toothless shows so much personality and has such a beautiful bond with him. astrid could, i suppose, have been more fleshed out in the first movie, but she still has a lot of great moments. she's fierce, passionate, and driven, and the way she grows to accept hiccup and softens up toward him is just adorable. i love her.
also, the character designs, animation, and the score were already amazing in httyd 1 but they only improve in the second movie. the flying scenes and toothless himself with his catlike mannerisms are especially well-animated in both movies and songs like test flight from httyd 1 and toothless found from httyd 2 are fantastic. and the humor of these movies is great. it's not reliant on making tons of pop culture reference and toilet jokes like dreamworks usually loves to do, instead it's just really witty. hearing hiccup say "any food that grows here is tough and tasteless, the people that grow here even more-so" is hilarious to me. berk also has such a unique atmosphere about it, especially in the first movie, i feel like.
i would argue that httyd 2 isn't quite as masterfully written and has some pacing issues, but i still love it a lot. valka's story, and the tragedy of her relationship with stoick, is so well done and i love seeing hiccup start learning to be chief and to be more responsible. httyd 1 is sweet and upbeat and heartwarming but httyd 2 has this epic fantasy feel with a darker type of story. and hiccup's dialogue at the end does not get enough appreciation for how beautiful it is: "we may be small in numbers, but we stand for something bigger than anything the world can pit against us. we are the voice of peace, and bit by bit, we will change this world."
and anyway anyone who's been following me for a while can probably tell i am bad at writing analyses and reviews lol. but i just love how to train your dragon so so much and i don't wanna seem like i set out to watch every dreamworks movie just so i could complain about them constantly. so yeah, these movies are amazing to me and i really should get around to watching the httyd tv shows one of these days.

Review: Elf (2003)
Elf (2003)
Rated PG for some mild rude humor and language
Tumblr media
<Originally posted at https://kevinsreviewcatalogue.blogspot.com/2023/12/review-elf-2003.html>
Score: 3 out of 5
Elf is the kind of Christmas movie that you'd think was made in 1983 or even 1963, not 2003. It's a straightforward throwback to the Rankin/Bass Christmas specials of the '60s and '70s, with a plot largely devoid of crude humor... starring Will Ferrell at a time when he and the rest of the "Frat Pack" of gleefully lowbrow comedy stars and writers were pushing boundaries with a new breed of decidedly grown-up sex comedies. Director Jon Favreau consciously toned down the original PG-13 script into something a lot more lighthearted and family-friendly once he got on board, at times to a fault (and to Ferrell's frustration on set), but it ultimately worked out in the end to produce a film that a lot of people of my generation regard as a comedy classic and one of their favorite unironic holiday movies (i.e. not something like Die Hard or Bad Santa, the latter of which came out the same year as this). As someone who missed the film when it first came out and only saw it recently, I don't quite have the same attachment to it, but I definitely see where the affection comes from. There's barely much of a plot, but what it has is ultimately enough, the film being largely the kind of "sketch movie" that's about dropping unusual characters into funny situations and seeing how they react. I had a very nice time watching it, thanks to both Ferrell's performance as the titular elf and an old-fashioned sense of humor that's not afraid of getting cornball and doesn't try to pretend it's anything other than what it is, and while it did feel kind of insubstantial, it's still a film I'd happily recommend around the holiday season.
Our protagonist Buddy is a human who, as an infant, accidentally snuck into Santa Claus' sack when Santa visited his orphanage on the night of Christmas Eve. Growing up at the North Pole, he's always known he was different from the other elves: he's much bigger, for one, and he aged into an adult far faster. One day, he finally learns the truth about his ancestry and realizes why all the other elves made fun of him, which marks the beginning of a journey to New York City to find the birth father who abandoned him, Walter Hobbs, now an executive at a children's book publisher and, by all appearances, a right jerk who values money over his family and even the quality of his company's books.
If you've ever seen a heartwarming holiday special, then you don't need me to tell you where this movie's going from there, and this movie knows it. It devotes fairly little time to its story, instead concerning itself with its jokes and its comic routines, most of which revolve around Buddy, played by Ferrell as essentially a young boy in the body of a grown man, interacting with the modern world and causing chaos wherever he goes. He's not completely helpless, shown to be a surprisingly gifted handyman thanks to his experience in Santa's workshop (where do you think all the toys under your tree as a kid came from? Your parents? China?), but he's otherwise a less shouty, more family-friendly take on the archetypal Ferrell manchild character, with the emphasis here placed on the "child" thanks to him having been raised in a candy-cane, primary-colored version of the North Pole straight out of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (complete with a cameo by Ray Harryhausen voicing a stop-motion polar bear). And honestly, Ferrell was perfect in the role. There's a reason this kind of character has been his type as a comic actor, and that's because he brings exactly the kind of energy that a movie like this needs. There's just something inherently funny about a grown man dressed as a Christmas elf, but Ferrell doesn't just rest on the premise here, he gives it his all and always makes me smile.
The cast here is large and sprawling, and some of them get more to grab onto than others. James Caan as Walter is the closest thing a movie this wholesome has to an antagonistic force, and while his arc of realizing that there's more to life than getting ahead in the cutthroat corporate world is predictable, he otherwise sells it admirably. The first act at the North Pole is filled with memorable presences like Ed Asner as a Santa straight out of an old Coca-Cola commercial and Bob Newhart as Buddy's adoptive elf father, as well as great set design that makes for a very sharp contrast to the rest of the film spent in the Big Apple. Peter Dinklage only has one scene as a full-of-himself children's author, but the moment he steps foot on screen, you can figure out immediately what the casting directors of Game of Thrones saw in him. Unfortunately, I thought that Zooey Deschanel got short shrift as the cynical department store clerk Jovie, feeling as though a lot of her character arc was left on the cutting room floor. She gets a lot of focus in a few particular scenes and sells them very well, especially when it comes to her singing voice, but she's otherwise absent for such long stretches that I was at times surprised when the film remembered that she existed. (It was amusing, however, seeing her play the grouch who doesn't believe in Christmas and has Ferrell's manic pixie dream guy inject some excitement into her life given how she'd later be typecast. Especially since she's blonde in this film, without what would become her signature bangs.)
This was a symptom of the film's biggest fault, the manner in which the plot jumps all over the place, from Buddy's relationship with his father Walter to his romance with Jovie to Walter's problems at work and home to a sudden third-act turn into Buddy having to literally save Christmas. It's very scattershot, and while I was often amused, I wouldn't say I was particularly hooked by the film's story, threadbare as it was. At times, I wonder if Ferrell might have had a point in wanting this to be a somewhat darker movie than what we ultimately got, one that spent more time with its characters and gave them room to breathe between all the jokes. The 2000s were a time when comedies weren't afraid to slow down, and when Pixar was in its golden age of animated family comedies that nevertheless threw a lot of kids my age for a loop. I think a version of this movie that's ten to fifteen minutes longer, mostly devoted to character beats and interactions, might have left more of an impact on me.
The Bottom Line
At the end of the day, though, Elf is still a very funny movie with Will Ferrell doing what he does best, one that I don't think would've endured as it has if it hadn't been as lightweight as it is. Overall, I had a very good time watching it, and whenever I have kids, I guarantee this one's gonna be in rotation every December.

I'm 5'4 and I have strawberry blonde hair in a pixie. I'm a hufflepuff through and through. I enjoy baking for family and friends. I'm a dancer, I used to do ballet when I was younger. I love seeing people happy and I try to make that happen. I'm not very outgoing, I prefer to stay indoors mostly. I have a dry sense of humor for the most partI like watching cartoons and anime. I think my favorite color is purple. I enjoy gaming as well, my cousins are huge gamers and it's fun hanging out with them and playing stuff. I'm not very fashion forward, I mostly wear sweat pants and sweatshirts and get dragged for it by literally everyone 😭
I'm practical but also a very optimistic person, I like giving people the benefit of the doubt. I hate changes to my routine it makes me v v nervous lmao. I like steady and grounded people I guess someone who is practical like I am. I have a dog I love. I like animals very much, not a fan of frogs tho, they scare me. I'm studying to be a nurse .
based on your qualities i think you’d work best with javi gutierrez!
warnings: NONE! just pure fluff <3 hope you enjoy
Tumblr media
because of javi’s line of work, it gives him the opportunity to feed into his hobbies— as well as your own
javi can be very bashful at times when talking about things he loves but he’s also very sweet and outgoing
of course javi likes to use his wealth to his advantage and explore the world but he’s also a home body
he literally has a room dedicated to his favorite films? he definitely likes to stay home watching movies or even learning how to play your favorite video games
his type of work can make him very busy at times so the both of you dedicated a day of the week for movie/game night
during those days you’d always bake him sweet treats and he’d comment, “delicious as always, cariño.” (translation: love, darling, or sweetheart.)
ever since he met you, he knew you were the one for him. you had made him the happiest man in the world
he’s very supportive of your dreams and encourages you daily to fight for them
javi is also a very optimistic person and believes anything can happen if you take the time and just believe in yourself

although his work may not be on the practical side, his kind, heartwarming, funny personality is what pulled you into him

Unleash the Ultimate Fun: Exploring the World of Pitbull Costumes
When it comes to dressing up our four-legged friends, pitbulls often steal the show with their bundles of energy and charming personalities. Pitbull Costumes are known for their strength, loyalty, and playful nature, making them popular pets for many individuals and families. To celebrate and showcase their unique character, many pet owners have adopted the trend of dressing their pitbulls in various costumes, allowing them to become the life of the party in all circumstances. In this article, we will delve into the fascinating world of pitbull costumes, exploring their appeal, versatility, and creative potential. Whether you're a pitbull owner seeking inspiration or simply interested in discovering more about this emerging trend, this comprehensive guide will provide you with everything you need to know to make your furry friend sparkle at any event.
The Popularity and Appeal of Dog Costume (300 words):
Pitbull costumes have gained tremendous popularity in recent years, thanks to their unique ability to combine fashion, humor, and cuteness. These costumes allow pitbull owners to showcase their pet's unique personality, creating an aura of excitement and amusement wherever they go. Whether it's for Halloween, birthdays, or simply a neighborhood gathering, dressing up a pitbull in a costume never fails to captivate onlookers and bring a smile to their faces.
While some might argue that dressing up dogs is unnecessary or even demeaning, pitbull costumes promote an inclusive and joyful atmosphere. These costumes allow owners to express their creativity while treating their pets as part of the family. With a vast range of options available, pitbull costumes are designed to fit all kinds of occasions, themes, and preferences. From superheroes and movie characters to adorable animals and humorous ensembles, the possibilities are endless.
Exploring Different Types of Pitbull Costumes (500 words):
To truly grasp the variety and creativity in pitbull costumes, it is crucial to explore the different types available. Costumes for pitbulls come in a myriad of designs, ranging from simple and elegant to outrageously elaborate. Here are some popular options that allow your pitbull to steal the limelight:
a) Classic Costumes: Classic costumes, such as pirate outfits, princess gowns, or superhero capes, never go out of style. These timeless choices are perfect for themed parties, allowing pitbulls to play the role of everyone's favorite characters.
b) Seasonal Costumes: Costumes tailored to specific seasons or holidays add a touch of festivity to any event. For Halloween, pitbulls can become witches, vampires, or spooky monsters, delighting both children and adults. During Christmas, dressing your pitbull as Santa Claus or a reindeer ensures a joyful and festive atmosphere.
c) Animal Costumes: Transforming a pitbull into another beloved creature is a popular choice among costume enthusiasts. From cuddly bears to fierce lions, these costumes allow pitbull owners to showcase their pets' versatility and adaptability.
d) Humorous Costumes: Sometimes, laughter is the best accessory. Humorous costumes, such as hotdog suits or banana outfits, invoke laughter and smiles wherever your pitbull struts its stuff. These costumes are perfect for light-hearted events or as conversation starters.
e) Matching Costumes: Another trend gaining momentum is pet-owner matching costumes. By donning similar or complementary outfits, pitbull owners can create an unforgettable and heartwarming experience for both themselves and their pets.
Choosing the Perfect Size and Fit (400 words):
As with any pet costume, it is essential to consider the sizing and fit for your pitbull's ultimate comfort and ease of movement. Pitbulls come in various shapes and sizes, so it is crucial to measure your dog accurately to ensure a proper fit. Using a flexible measuring tape, take measurements of your pitbull's neck, chest, and length to select the appropriate size range.
When choosing a pitbull costume, keep in mind that comfort is key. Look for costumes that allow easy breathing, unrestricted movement, and have adjustable features to accommodate your dog's unique body shape. Consider fabric types as well, opting for breathable materials that won't cause skin irritation or overheating.
Safety Considerations (250 words):
While dressing up your pitbull in a costume may seem harmless, safety should always be a top priority. Ensure that your chosen costume does not limit your dog's vision, hearing, or ability to pant, as this can quickly escalate into a dangerous situation. Avoid costumes with small parts, loose accessories, or tight-fitting elements that could become choking hazards or cause discomfort.
Additionally, monitor your pitbull's behavior when wearing a costume and remove it immediately if signs of distress, discomfort, or anxiety are observed. Dogs, including pitbulls, have their unique preferences and personalities, so it's important to respect their comfort levels and never force them into a costume if they show resistance.
Conclusion (200 words):
Pitbull costumes serve as a creative outlet for pet owners, allowing them to enhance the bond with their furry friends while inspiring joy and entertainment for those around them. These costumes provide a platform to showcase the unique personalities and playful nature of pitbulls, making them the life of any gathering or celebration.
From classic and seasonal costumes to humor-inspired and matching ensembles, the versatility in pitbull costumes is immense. However, pet owners must prioritize safety and comfort when selecting these outfits. By considering size, fit, and avoiding any potential hazardous components, pitbull owners can provide their beloved pets with an unforgettable dress-up experience.
Ultimately, the trend of pitbull costumes is much more than just dressing up dogs for fun. It is an expression of love, creativity, and the desire to celebrate the uniqueness of our pets. So, dive into the world of pitbull costumes, unleash your creativity, and let your pitbull be the star of the show, garnering all the love and attention they deserve.Pitbull Costume Store

2023
I watched Dungeons And Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)
I'll admit, I was talked into seeing this movie because my roommate, Jori, is a big D&D fan. Glad she did.
Within the Dungeons and Dragons universe, after a bard is betrayed by a con-man, he escapes prison and must put together a rescue party to save his daughter, not knowing he'll also need to save a city from a red wizard.
I'll start by saying that, my roommate is a Dungeons and Dragons fan and I have barely ever played. We both very much enjoyed our time with this movie. She got to enjoy every reference throughout and the film was perfectly accessible for someone like me who knew almost none of the references. It's a really good time at the movies.
Going the route of comedy was the best choice. You really do get the feeling that certain decisions and conversations are being made by a group of friends playing the game. And, this is a very funny movie. The writing is on point and never boring in a rather long film. Despite the comedy, the movie also has real heart and some decent action segments throughout. It's a really well put together story With an excellent cast, lead by Chris Pine and which has an amazing Cameo which I won't spoil here.
Personally, any movie that has this many practical effects is something that will catch my eye. Yes, there are plenty of CGI monsters and environments, but the directors (one of which is the kid from freaks and geeks) definitely wanted put in as many real things as they could. From dragon people, to cat people, to bird men, to giant fish and corpses, the movie takes advantage of old school style makeups and puppetry, and I loved that so much. It adds to the sense of fun and the fantasy world as a whole.
Like I said the movie is mildly heartwarming. I even got a little teary eyed at one point at the end, even though it was cliche and I saw it coming. Cliches can work if you really like the characters, and you really like these characters. They are well developed, even if not each individual is fully drawn out. We get glimpses into their lives and honest moments that give them purpose. Like a good D&D game, each one is integral to the success of the team.
You may notice some very close resemblances to the Avengers film or Guardians of The Galaxy. Tough to avoid for sure with this type of film, but I will say I found one moment to be almost exactly the same moment from the Avengers. A small moment, but still a moment.
We do have a lot of these types of movies coming out, especially since Marvel is almost constantly throwing us high adventure superhero action films with a decent sense of humor. But, despite it's $150milliom dollar budget, D&D feels like the film going underdog. You're almost immediately on its side when it starts and it keeps you there throughout.

Violent Night
“Violent Night” is just about what I expected, a gratuitous gore porn movie with the gimmick of Santa being the perpetrator.
Santa Clause is starting to get jaded after countless Christmases. It seems like kids today just take selfishly and get bored too quickly. Santa is seriously considering making this year his final Christmas. That was until he gets stranded at the Lightstone residence. The Lightstones are a bunch of cynical rich folk who aren’t very good people. They’re held hostage due to the matriarch of the family being an extremely rich and powerful person. A man calling himself ‘Mr. Scrooge’ is determined to take the money for himself. Santa is about to leave when he sees little Trudy Lightstone is being held hostage too. She’s a true believer in Christmas, so Santa stays behind and decides to rescue her.
I watch a lot of movie trailers, so I usually have a good understanding of how a movie is going to turn out based on its trailers. Granted, this isn’t always the case and there are a ton of exceptions to the rule. But, when I saw the trailer for “Violent Night”, I pretty much knew that what I saw was what I was going to get. What I saw was just another ultra-violent action movie with the gimmick this time being a holiday backdrop and Santa as the action hero. There’s nothing wrong with a simple action movie, but it just feels boring to me. Gratuitous violence lacks the substance I’m looking for in movies. When I saw that this movie was getting really good reviews, I thought that maybe I had judged this movie too quickly. Maybe this movie creatively uses its violence to strengthen its themes and messages. Maybe this movie would actually be pretty heartwarming underneath all of the gore. Nope. That was not the case at all. After watching the movie, I can confidently say that I was right in my assumptions. The movie is just decent all around. It has decent fight scenes. It has decent humor. It has decent moments of heart. There’s nothing this movie excels at. I want to say that the action is really good, but then there are fight sequences that feel way too choreographed for my liking. I want to say that the comedy was great, but there are a lot of jokes that just don’t land. There were a lot of performances that didn’t land too, either because the actors were hamming it up too much or just didn’t care at all. I want to say that the movie has heart, but the arc that Santa goes through is generic and predictable. The movie also makes it hard to root for anyone. Everyone is a shitty person and it made me want to see everyone get their comeuppance. There were a ton of tone-deaf moments as well, like Jason and Linda passionately making out after murdering a man for the first time. Some of the brutality felt mean-spirited which made it unenjoyable at times. Jason seems like the nicest dude out of the whole family and he basically gets his finger cut off for it. The writing also got a bit annoying from all the lampshading it was doing. Yes, this movie is heavily inspired by “Home Alone” and “Die Hard”, but they’re towing a fine line between being inspired and straight-up ripping off. The unashamed nature of laying out all of its plagiarisms on the table is indicative of how much the movie doesn’t care about being original. If you’re the type of person who thinks Santa, but as a murderer is a wholly original concept, then by all means, go watch the movie. If you don’t like rewarding movies that don’t put thought into the experience they’re crafting, then definitely skip this one.

Avalon: a Heartwarming True Cat Story by Vanessa Morgan - Deck the Halls with Books Holiday Extravaganza
Tumblr media Tumblr media
EGG NOG RECIPES FOR YOU... AND YOUR CAT
No Christmas is ever complete without at least one serving of Egg Nog, the holiday-themed cocktail drink that is popular in the United States and Canada. It is a frothy beverage that contains milk, cream, and eggs. You can combine this mixture with other ingredients such as alcohol, sugar, and spices. It is best served chilled.
You can easily modify the Egg Nog recipe below to be vegan-friendly (by replacing the eggs with silken tofu and by using almond milk instead of cow's milk).
When I was in my twenties, I used to buy Egg Nog in the supermarket at Christmas-time. Nowadays, however, I prefer to make it myself.
My cat Avalon used to go all crazy whenever I pulled out the Egg Nog, so I started by making a cat-friendly version, just for him. It may sound a little crazy, but trust me on this one... Kitty Egg Nog is sure to please even the most discerning palates, and your cat will be eternally grateful to you for it.
On top of that, we are celebrating the French edition release of Avalon's memoir, so we should all indulge a little extra this year, don't you agree?
Here's what you need to make Egg Nog for both you and your cat.
Egg Nog for you
Tumblr media
Ingredients:
2 cups of milk
3 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla powder
1/8 tablespoon nutmeg
¼ cup cream
If you like it sweet, you can add three tablespoons of sugar. Also, I usually make Egg Nog without alcohol, but if I do add some, I prefer to add rum over any other type.
Preparation:
Beat the eggs until smooth
Add the milk, cream, vanilla powder, and nutmeg (and any other ingredients)
Put everything in the blender
Serve chilled
Tumblr media
Egg Nog for your cat
 Ingredients:
200 ml cat milk
1 egg yolk
1 pinch of turmeric (don't use cinnamon as it can be toxic to cats)
A little whipped cream
Preparation:
Put all ingredients in the blender, and blend until smooth
Serve in small portions, as it is a heavy drink, even without the alcohol.
Warning! Don't use real milk for your cat's Egg Nog. After all, the lactose in cow's milk may cause diarrhea and other digestive problems in cats.
Let me know in the comments if you will be making Egg Nog for yourself and your cat this year.
Enjoy!

Book Description:
From Amazon bestselling author Vanessa Morgan, Avalon is the heartwarming and once-in-a-lifetime love story of a girl and her neurotic Turkish Van cat.
With humor, the author details how Avalon made other creatures cringe in distress whenever he was around, how he threw her dates out by means of special techniques, and how he rendered it almost impossible for her to leave the house.
Avalon was so incorrigible that even the landlord ordered to get rid of him. But beneath Avalon's demonic boisterousness, Vanessa recognized her own flaws and insecurities, and she understood that abandoning Avalon would be the worst she could do to him. Thanks to her unswerving loyalty, Avalon transformed into a tender feline and even landed a major role in a horror movie. In turn, Avalon made it his mission to be there for his human companion.
Avalon is a memoir for anyone who has ever been obsessively in love with a pet.

Filming of The Strangers Outside took place in August and September 2010. Avalon joined the set for two days. The location: a vacation cabin in the woods of Sint-Katelijne-Waver, a place where shadows came alive and danced with the rare patches of light. The perfect site for a horror movie.
Outside the vacation cabin, the film crew prepared for action. Camera tripods and lights were set up. An actor in monk clothes smoked his last cigarette before the shoot.
Two large tables with food and drinks sat in the shade, each bottle of water labeled with the name of an actor or crew member. Avalon had a bottle all for himself.
Avalon was remarkably at ease on set. He examined the vacation cabin for about half an hour, sniffing his way through the dusty corners, before settling into a deep sleep on the couch.
While everyone fawned over Avalon and fed him snacks from the buffet table, the director gave us a quick rundown of the scene to come. “The camera focuses on Avalon lying on the coffee table. In the background, through the windows, we see actors Pierre Lekeux and Iulia Nastase arriving home. Avalon follows their movements with his head as they move from one side of the house to the other. When the front door opens, Avalon jumps off the table to greet them.”
“Avalon won’t do that,” I said. “Just like children, cats are uncontrollable. It’s a great idea for a scene, but I’m afraid you’ll have to come up with something less demanding.”
Apparently, I didn’t know my cat very well, because Avalon did exactly what was expected of him.
The scene was shot several times in a row and Avalon never missed a beat.
In another scene, while eating his Schesir dinner, Avalon suddenly had to look up in panic. The fear in his eyes looked genuine. He was perfect.
Sitting at the dining table, actor Pierre Lekeux watched Avalon with incomprehensibility and admiration, shaking his head in denial. “I need at least twenty minutes to prepare a scene, to enter a certain state of mind. But this cat nails it in a matter of seconds. Avalon’s the best actor on set. He’s even better than me.”
Pierre was right. Avalon had this air--he carried himself in a certain way, very much aware of his charisma. He was a natural performer. A miniature star.
