thunder was always scary.

remmy had gotten all your blankets, pillows, and stuffies and made you a blanket fort! he also got his tablet so you could watch movies together!!

you were helping him too. you got all your favorite books! you also got coloring books and crayons and bubbles and stickers and puzzles and your headphones. they play music and block out thunder!

"alright pumpkin, ready to rock?" he asked, waving a hand to tell you that you could go inside the fort.

you giggled and nodded happily at him. "yay! rocks!" you squealed, causing your caregiver to chuckle.

"not quite sweet pea. i mean, are you ready to be brave?" remmy asked, crawling in the fort with you.

remmy ruffled your hair, making you pout, and gave you a forehead kiss. "it's alright pumpkin. wanna watch a show?" he asked.

"where's bagels?" you asked. "need 'im bubba," you frowned.

remmy pulled out the bear and handed him to you with a smile. "here you are sweet pea. now, what show?"

you cuddled up next to him and watched him tap a brightly colored button and one of your favorites came up. "that one!" you squealed, accidentally clicking on the animated show.

"anything you want sweetheart. wanna color?" he asked, turning to get the coloring book and crayons you brought. "or would you rather a puzzle?"

you stared at remmy, slightly confused, for a few moments. "s'it my... my octonauts one? wif da... da... vegimals?"

remmy nodded. "uh-huh! your favorite pumpkin."

you nodded excitedly, making remmy put his hand on your head. "careful baby, don' wanna give yourself wiplash."

"'m not a baby!" you argued. "'m a big kid!" you told him.

"okay kiddo." he chuckled, taking the top off the puzzle box. "c'mon, let's do the cute octonauts puzzle."

you laid down on your stomach with remmy and helped him find the corner pieces. then all the edge pieces. he helped you put it together and you were happy when you two finished it.

unfortunately the storm came later and it started thundering right as you finished the puzzle with remmy.

"bubba?" you asked, reaching for him but not able to find him. it made you want to cry since you couldn't find him.

he put is hand on your back and rubbed it, helping you calm down a bit.

"i'm right here pumpkin, right here." he reminded you, laying down next to you. "here, pick another show?"

you nodded and jumped at the next loud clap of thunder. you teared up a little and nuzzled into remmy's side. "here, wanna watch bluey?" he asked, pushing a couple of buttons and bluey turned on for you.

remmy had helped you on your back and let you rest your head on his chest as he held up the tablet for you.

thunder claps.

you whimper and jump.

this happens for a couple minutes until it clicks in his mind that you probably need your headphones. "c'mere pumpkin." he lifted your head, which wasn't hard since you were watching bluey closely, and put your headphones on.

you looked up at remmy and could feel yourself talking, hearing yourself a little, but still pouted.

"bluey."

you watched remmy push a button on the side a couple times and you could hear it now. "tanks bubba."

you felt him say something through his chest but you didn't know what he said.

soon you fell asleep on your bubba, stuffie in hand, comfy and forgetting about the storm.

In regards to your post about Miraculous being a slowburn post, I just want to add something.

Slowburn doesn't mean no development in a relationship between characters for a few seasons and then Bam! they're together. It means the relationship should slowly develop over a longer period of time. There's no such development in Miraculous, only a few cute moments that in the end don't further the relationship in any meaningful way.

You definitely make a good point.

This show has always been infamously known for having the slowest moving plot imaginable, which in most cases just meant undoing the little bit of plot progression and character development we did get just to keep the status quo.

But then in s5 especially, it sped through the "plot progession" and "character development" like it meant nothing.

And I'm not gonna lie, I felt almost nothing when Adrienette finally happened, because it gave me wiplash of how long I spent waiting for this after years of being teased with it, so it suddenly happening felt a bit unearned.

A slowburn should be what the name suggests, slowly burning it, not tickling me with lukewarm bullshit for 7 years before smacking me across the head with a burning stove.

Ozai was kinder than the fire lord himself, who lectured and demanded i change, that i should feel gratful to be in the palace. My nature change rather quickly. I learned that pretending to adhere to royal luxury was better than facing the fire lord's ire again.

Forgettful Church anon again, back from the library! I Did remember my library card but I forgot my credit card and had a late fee so I Still couldn't borrow their Usagi Yojimbo comic. I still read it, just felt mad. Anyway! Usagi! I read a translated compilation of book one and two? I fricking loved it. He's both heavy(?) and a bit silly, everything is very melancholy and also goofy, I get wiplash. In one he kills seven flies as a power move, another, he visits his home village (angst central)

(forgettful anon cont) like God. The way his return to his old home village was probably the standout part for me. Like, yeah, the ghost and monster stuff is cool, and his rivalry with this bounty hunter is funny but like. *feelings* man! And the end reveal, that they both kept those keepsakes, all those years!! On their person all the time! The thing about how she's better than Usagi at following the code? Duty vs Love? God it was more setup/hints than exploration™ and I Still went coco over it

IT'S A LOT. the love and duty thing makes me crazy. and yeah!! it's SILLY!!! it's a heavy comic set in a time where life is cheap and death is common, and also he fights off some assholes with a couple of fish. issue 1 he fights someone who was once across a battlefield from him and became corrupted into a monster by only cultivating hate and bitterness for the next three years, and issue 2 he runs into a tiny godzilla. the stories where usagi goes home (there are a few different times) and learns all over again that it's not a place he gets to call home anymore is. AGH. those are my favorites. i love mariko and kenichi and jotaro all so much, and how messy that whole situation gets, and how under the layers of all the societal pressures and considerations there's a very deep and genuine care. also mariko defense squad 2kalways. #MarikoDidNothingWrong.

“I doubt it!” You call back finally leaving his house.

“Dude!!” Your friend laughs as you get in her car you smile and laugh your phone goes off “grabbed your number anyway. How’s dinner Monday work for you?” Sebastian texts you you scoff shaking your head.

Honestly, the She-Hulk twerking scene is definitely over-hated, especially concidering its an end credit scene. The episode isnt forcing you to watch it, it isnt interrupting the flow of the narrative. Just dont actively make the extra effort to skip through the credits to watch it.

BUT

The twerking scene sure as hell isnt as unproblematic either as other fans will try to make it out to be. And in my opinion nothing showcases that better than that the gifs you mostly see from these fans coincidentally almost never including the shots from THIS angle:

Seriously, I dont have too many problems with the twerking when it comes to the other angles besides what others are correctly criticizing in my opinien - meaning the fact that Jen’s butt just grew a ridiculous amount for this one shot, where her spine ends up looking broken because of how much her ass is made to stick out

But in general I dont mind it one bit and I absolutely agree, its over-hated as hell, but dont turn around and say that the end credit scene isnt overly sexualizing She-Hulk either. Again, there are 2 shots where her butt is straight up entirely in the frame and they deliberately made her butt bigger.

Defend the scene because its a little fun in the end credits, its not even interrupting the episodes narrative, but dont go around saying that the gif in the middle is all the scene is because it isnt. The scene got needlessly overly-sexualized in its framing and THAT indeed made me, personally, uncomfortable.

For a show that is attempting to directly call out the daily sexism women in the USA face, the angles and animation priorities of this scene definitely gave me wiplash.

I keep forgetting how.... depressing the lore in Genshin can be sometimes. Even some of the NPCs have sad stories, from the dude who sings to his daughters grave behind the church to the guy outside of Liyue who still has a child like state of mind and plays hide and seek with his dead parents( which honestly gave me wiplash after finishing his quest)

yeah!! those npcs caught me so off guard, i cried during their quests ajdfgkjh ;w; but its those little details and bits of humanity that really make me love the lore!!

What makes this worse is that in s3 we knew the boysquad were trash and expected they would have that kind of storyline in Robbes season but we knew Robbe had Milan and the flatshare to fall back on and were pleasantly surprised with how they developed at the end of the season with Moyo actually physically apologising. The girl squad this season are written so ooc and they've somehow been made worse than the og girlsquad with miscommunications. I don't see how they can fix this

Oh this reminds me of the final fight in Trigun 98, how the angel arms would cancel each other out when both used at the same time! I wonder if this was an inspiration for that part in the fight

Here we go, Livio vs Elendira. I bet this will be an interesting fight! I do really hope that Elendira doesnt actually die here, shes such a cool character but I understand if its the only way to stop her

AWWW Livio is adorable with kids, although he did probably traumatize them for life with all the nails and blood lol

His reaction is interesting here, I wonder if hes being reminded of Wolfwood maybe?? Also their face isnt showing which is an interesting choice

Oh shit!! Is that the girl he saved when he was at the orphanage??? Oh thats really cute. Also the kid giving him the hat was very cute as well

Man what a good volume, how Elendira fights is pretty interesting. Even though Livio definitely isnt as strong fighting wise as Razlo, its still crazy to see the difference in strength. Shes a badass person. Although the whole thing with the actual nuke worries me a bit lol

I love how Livio has really become his own person and he is such a sweet guy. Such a shame Wolfwood couldnt see Livio like this

Im wondering since there is 3 volumes left, I bet the next one is gonna wrap things up with Legato and Elendira and maybe the start of the fight between Knives and Vash? Something bad is gonna happen for sure between Knives and the spaceships. But who knows, they seem to have seen what Knives is doing before so maybe they have a way to combat it.

Very interesting way to start wrapping up the story, I guess we will see how the next volumes goes
