i think it's fucked up that they put in that scene where Azura looks directly at the screen and says "Hey, if you're enjoying playing this game, I have another game to recommend for you, it's called Raid: Shadow Lege
knowing my audience, i assume the cut-off bit is "super mario galaxy" and you got so horny (rosalina) you passed out

Rediscovered How To Train Your Dragon, and wrote this instead of continuing the fics people actually want to read
Another sticky finger jabbed Snotlout's back, smearing a booger across his vest as he heard a chorus of obnoxious giggles erupting behind him. He tried to ignore Ruffnut and Tuffnut all day, after failing to hide from them through the village. They were smaller, being little more than a year younger than himself, but they were much faster, and running away only prompted them to tackle him into the dirt. One of them swatted at his rear with a sharp stick, and the laughter continued.
The boy spun around to glare at the twins, "Will you two knock it off?! Leave me alone!"
"No," the little girl replied gleefully, her short braids swaying in tandem with the shake of her head. The stick in her hands was longer, and looked heavier than he expected.
Her brother bounced on the balls of his feet, "Yeah, no!"
Snotlout rolled his eyes and slipped into his uncle's house, slamming the front door in the kids' faces before they could follow him inside. They knocked on the door while he threw open the ice box for leftover jerky, and to his relief, the noise ceased by the time Stoick leaned his head around the corner.
"You wanna tell me why you're making such a ruckus in my house, boy?"
“It wasn’t me, it was the twins,” Snotlout groaned, "Are all the Thorstons as annoying as those two?"
"Ah, I should have expected. You know, I'm proud of you for staying with them while their mother is at work. They stay out of trouble when they’re around you."
"I don't have a choice," he grumbled, shutting the ice box closed, "They just won't take a hint and buzz off! Ugh, no wonder their dad left."
"Hey," Stoick's hand slapped the back of his nephew's head, "I don't want to hear that again, Snotlout, understand?"
"Sorry, sir."
"No, I mean it," he said, before pulling the boy outside by his ear. Snotlout blinked, surprised to see there was no one waiting for them when Stoick dragged him down the front steps. The stick Ruffnut had been carrying lay abandoned in the grass, but he wasn’t given a chance to pick it up as the Chief tugged him along until they reached the middle of the village.
“Do you see what I see out there?” Stoick asked, gesturing to several families playing near the docks. A couple of children sat on a man’s boots while he walked, and some fathers tossed their sons into the water.
“Yeah, I see that stuff all the time.”
Stoick bent his back to lean in close to the seven-year-old, “So do they. Don’t you think it hurts them to watch the other children with fathers, knowing they don’t have one themselves? Do you even know why he left?”
Snotlout shrugged, his shoulders sagging lower ashamedly, “I heard some people talking about how bad they act all the time. Isn’t that why?”
“Some folks around here are wary of the twins because they’re twins. The coward left his family out of superstition. It was never their fault.”
He started to feel queasy as the villagers went about their day, blissfully unaware of his guilty conscience that made his stomach churn. Turning around to walk back to the house with Stoick, he spotted an angry, middle-aged woman berating Ruffnut and Tuffnut while she hauled them forward. While Ruffnut argued back and resisted the painful grip around her small wrist, Tuffnut pathetically wiped at the tears running down his cheeks and tried to hide his face behind his long, blonde hair.
“Chief, please do something about the changelings!” she screeched, “They knocked over all of the wool I needed to make new sweaters for the cold weather-”
“It was a accident!” Ruffnut protested, “We said sorry!”
“Apologies from you two are nothing more than a trick to make us catch our deaths! You ruined my materials so everyone would freeze! You want all of Berk to perish!”
Tuffnut sniffled, “I don’t wanna kill people.”
“Of course you do, you little monsters,” she hissed in his face.
“Okay, okay, I’ll take it from here, Lambbush,” Stoick took their hands into his own and waited for the woman to storm off before leading the three children to his home. Snotlout trailed behind, and noticed the dirty looks many of the adults sent the twins as they walked past. He never paid much attention to other people, and wondered if Ruffnut and Tuffnut were just as unaware as he was. When they arrived back at the house, he sat beside them on the couch while his uncle flopped onto the rocking chair near the fireplace.
“Do you both remember what I told you the last time this happened?” Stoick asked.
Tuffnut leaned his head on his sister’s shoulder, “Pay attention…”
“...and apologize,” she finished.
“Do either of you want to explain why you weren’t paying attention?”
When Ruffnut stayed quiet, the boy said, “Ruff got sad ‘cause Astrid and her dad were having fun, and I thought I could make her feel better. She always gets happy when we dance together, but I fell, and all the wool got dirty. Then the lady started yelling at us.”
“And we said sorry, but she didn’t care! She wanted us to get in trouble!” she lifted her knees to her chin and tucked her face into her legs, “We get in trouble no matter what. Nobody likes us.”
On impulse, Snotlout blurted out, “That’s not true.”
“Yes it is. Everyone’s mad when we’re around.”
“Except mom,” Tuffnut added.
Ruffnut shrunk into a tighter ball, “Even though we made our dad go away. He didn’t like us, neither.”
“Then we can all share my dad!” Snotlout puffed out his chest, “I have the best dad on the whole island, and you can be my little siblings, too.”
“Really?” Tuffnut’s eyes widened, and his lips turned upwards into a hopeful smile.
“Yup! But that means you guys have to do whatever I say, since I’m the big brother.”
Ruffnut lifted her head to look at him with a deadpan expression, “Or what?”
“Or else you’ll get in trouble with Dad, and that’s the worst thing to ever happen!”
He told them story after story, regaling the tales of his adventures where he slayed dragons, wrestled beasts, and conquered entire ships of bloodthirsty pirates. Thinking back, he should have expected their overreaction upon meeting Spitelout. Ruffnut managed to sink her sharp, crooked teeth into his meaty forearm before the boy could even open his mouth.
“I can’t believe he didn’t send the three of you out to sea on a plank of wood for that,” Astrid laughed from across the table. In celebration of Snotlout’s eighteenth birthday, he and his friends were drinking the night away in the pub, where the twins began sharing childhood memories of him.
Tuffnut pushed his empty glass aside, “Trust me, he wanted to, but our mom convinced him to just keep us in the chicken coop for the rest of the day.”
“I actually forgot all about that,” Snotlout said, “How’d you remember? Your memory’s the worst out of everyone I know!”
Ruffnut punched his arm with a grin, “Like we’d ever forget our own brother.”

More appreciation for Pearl's timelapses please. They're a work of art, the editing is always so satisfying and I love how she includes a lil slo-mo clip (or a clip of her dying) at that one part where the music slows down a bit. They're always so good I love them so much

what's your take on another of the sharp gang as a dnd character? since there's already alexis, sterling, jake, and kayla.
Ooh, okay, I've actually thought about this!
So, one, I would be incredibly excited if there was a second episode, I doubt that will happen with the amount of series on the channel, but I can hope!
Two, because of the previously mentioned unlikeliness of a sequel, I have, of course, had a period where I hyperfixated on this concept knowing damn well it would likely never be proven. Sooo ideas below but they're really long so I put a divider:
Benny would be a variant human artificer, with the "lucky" feat. I feel both of these elements make sense.
Champagne would be a black dragonborn druid. Dragonborn because at first it was funny, but then there were also potential painful moments like maybe Macey is also a dragonborn instead of just a dragon...? It's complicated and messy in my brain, but it also kind of makes sense, like he'd work with dragons and trying to manipulate them into being more docile from hatching, and then one of the projects he's put on it isn't a dragon egg, but a dragonborn, but noone else cares because it's just a subject, but he gets attached and eventually when the Sci-5 show up he takes the kid (probaby toddler age?) with him.
Vasilia would be either a tabaxi or a human with the were-jaguar curse, and would be a . The way I imagine the tabaxi thing going would be that there is a spell that allows you to reincarnate someone but the toll is that they come back in a new body, so maybe as a kid she was killed by a jaguar or other big cat only to be revived as what is basically a sentient big cat. For her class possibly low levels of sorcerer and then multi-classing into ranger, but if she has to be one or the other she'd be a ranger.
Tayrun would also be a ranger, but for his race... it's complicated. Because originally I was like "yeah, he'd just be a human. Maybe a variant human or something, but just a human." Which then progressed to "well maybe a half-elf" to "well maybe some other fae kind but they assume half-elf", to "well maybe they assume half-elf but he's actually just an absolute mess of bloodlines which is really confusing, and the only way he realises is because of Vasilia. But then came my final idea. So one of the types of sirens in d&d are the bird-like ones, they're neutral-evil and are incredibly OP, *but* researching them I was like "hey, these are a fae race. I was considering fae blood. hmmmmmmmmmm" which basically led to Tayrun being a weaker version of a siren, but through a curse/magic rather than by blood, because sirens eat people. But he doesn't realise and doesn't really sing because dead sister trauma, and then there'd be some event where he does sing and accidentally charms a bunch of people (maybe duetting with Kayla in a tavern?) and so on and so forth. I really hope it makes some sort of sense.
Heath is complicated because I had him as either a human paladin or an Aasimar (ghaele descendant from a dormant bloodline) fighter. Being an Aasimar does take away from him gaining his abilities later in life but I feel it does fit for him to have not really used them as a kid and then had to struggle to figure them out during an equivalent event to the kaiju attack in his world. A human paladin does make a bit more sense but it also feels a bit more boring and I'm not sure if paladin really fits either. Maybe a good warlock? I do still lean toward the concept of an Aasimar fighter though.
Kate - Variant human barbarian with the feat of tough. I don't really have more to add to this?
Ana - Triton rogue. She sneaky. She fishy. If not triton then maybe a water genasi? I don't know which is more plausible.
Astra/Diamos - This also takes a bit of a long explanation, but the short is that Astra and Diamos in this are two different people, with Diamos being a red tiefling who was a warlock under her father but broke her pact and while running found Astra. I imagined that Astra was still being raised to fill a godly role, but instead of becoming the overseer, she instead was being raised as a paladin to an evil god, who when she then broke her pact was cursed to slowly transform into a dragon. In response she tried to stop it and ended up sealing herself away in a time bubble that is only broken by Diamos seeking shelter in the now abandoned building surrounding this bubble. When it's broken the transformation is sped up and gives them only a short period of time to work out what they're going to do. I don't really know how it would come about, possibly a kind god taking pity on them or something? But in the end Astra becomes Diamos' familiar and Diamos gains the oathbreaker class and starts working toward being a wizard. Then it gets kinda complicated but that's the rough idea.
Mara - Human ranger who then gets cursed by the Fear equivalent and becomes a fo-tiefling, slowly being turned into a demon. Then there are two options, one is that this just keeps going and the Sharp Gang find a way to stop or slow it, or that the only way to stop it is to become a warlock to Fear Herself which then leads to her leaving the Sharp Gang for their safety, going down the darker path that was where her story was originally going.
Um. I hope this was a good response? I don't know how to end this, but yeah. That's my thunks.

I swear to God this was an ironic ship, whatever I already ship James and Prince Hans if anything this is less crazy. Two stern dads, Lizzie being Peters sister the potential fanfiction. Different moral compasses. Idk how my brain works but I'm happy it led me here.

HELP you have absolutely entrapped me with your hookhausen content. i know them only through the gifs you reblog but i am such a sucker for an emo boy with great hair and a horrible little freak. please, is there fic? can you recommend any?
I am also a sucker for an emo boy and a horrible freak, this is hardly the first time. Unfortunately Hookhausen is very very new so there is not much in terms of fic (it doesn’t even have a common tag yet on ao3) BUT there are a couple & more people are falling in love with them everyday (because I am forcing all my friends to watch aew with me) Here’s a few I have enjoyed:
This fic is from Hooks POV and is a good summary of the various antics Danhausen has employed to get his attention:
you don't even know me by malewifemjf
A classic use of locked out of a hotel room trope (plus a bit of hair washing):
Never seen you like this Mr_Motley
This series by Rilannon
This series by tumbledown
ALSO if you are open to wrestling fic in general I highly recommend these fics with Orange Cassidy/Chuck Taylor (also part ofaew)
Stuck in a Time loop:
Get Yourself Over and Over and Over by Annakovsky
Haunted by a ghost!
Ghosted by drunktuesdays
Didn’t know they were dating troupe:
When you know why you're happy by longnationalnightmare
I hope you enjoy annon!

Chapter Six: Psycho Bitch
“What about you?” Christine asked, in an attempt to keep the conversation moving. “What about me?” “Your dad, is he...? Are you an army brat? Did your family just want a fresh start? No one seems to know why you moved from California.” “No one, huh?” Billy’s eyebrows climbed higher under his curls, and he took a small step even closer so he could grin down at her. “Looks like I’m not the only one asking around.” Christine could have kicked herself. Hyperaware of the fact that her face was probably as red as her lipstick, she took another sip from her drink to avoid having to look at him. She probably would have downed the whole thing in one go if Billy hadn’t stopped her, resting two fingers on the rim of her cup. Hypnotized, she let him push the drink away from her mouth, prompting her to look up at him once more. “How about this?” he asked in a low, husky voice. “I’ll give you the scoop, if you do something for me.” It was a miracle she found the strength to answer. “Oh, like...like what?” Billy’s grin widened dangerously.

i’m sorry i can’t stop thinking about this and absolutely no hate to this person but
when the trailer for that 90s show came out i saw someone on twitter be like “this one isn’t gonna be as good as that 70s show because the appeal of it was that it actually felt like the 70s and this one just doesn’t feel like the 90s”
like ?? you are in your very early 20s you were barely (if at all) alive in the 90s and you definitely Were Not alive in the 70s you do not have a personal frame of reference on this lmao
i promise the only reason you think it doesn’t feel like the 90s is because it’s filmed on a digital camera (which i hate i think film makes things much more authentic and digital makes everything feel simulated and disingenuous), which nothing in the 90s was filmed on
and if you watch shows that are actually from the 70s than that 70s show will feel just as “fake” to you as that 90s show does. why? because when they make these “throwback” shows they’re not gonna restrict themselves to using the technology that was available in those decades because that would be insane. it would be an interesting technique but wouldn’t do them any favours.
point is that 90s show feels inaccurate to you because it’s filmed using different technology than the 90s shows you’re used to (also this is where the inauthenticity of digital makes a large difference as well but i’ll digress about the tech convo)
again this post is not made in anger i actually follow the person this post is about i like them and if you were also thinking this, no hate to you, i see where you’re coming from, but you’re wrong.
tl;dr that 90s show is entirely as accurate to the 90s as that 70s show was to the 70s, youre just not used to seeing the 90s on digital
