Hi, how are you? Lovely blog you have here. I would like to ask you, have you ever imagined what the dynamics of immortals would be like when they no longer have Andy to be the 'boss'?
hello! thank you nonny :)
i haven't thought about it before, but it's interesting - especially given the bit in the script where she talks about how the others all call her boss and their leader but they're in this together now and will fight together. i feel like when andy is gone, even if quynh is back with the others, it'd be more likely that joe and nicky would take on general leadership roles themselves, splitting the kind of work andy does - with quynh there to add in perspective when necessary, but i think she'd be unlikely to take on much ~leadership when she's only a decade or more out of the ice.
i think having two immortals who have been around and together for such a long time as joe and nicky would be healthier than just one person being in charge and responsible, which i think is a large part of andy's problem. when quynh was with them it would have been more equitable (by the time joe and nicky turned up, anyway) and the respnsibility could be shared. having one person who has lived so much longer than even the next oldest people she knows is difficult and strange! but also i think they're more likely to shift towards that even before she has necessarily left/stopped fighting - she will need to learn to take more of a backseat role as nile is training up, which makes them an odd balanced pair alongside nicky and joe. so kind of more reliant on each other than one person in charge, maybe!
