I personally think throughout the flashback and present-day arc that nhs is having his own epic romance with some kind of fascinating nobleman but we don't see it because it's not relevant to wei wuxian's journey

#its what he deserves #bc i don't like nhs with any canon character. though the idea of wn/nhs postcanon is delightful #seriously i know he was focusing on revenge but the idea he was entirely alone the entire time is bizarre #hes an incredibly intelligent and careful leader. just bc you dont see it doesnt mean it's not there #he does some things personally but he has GOT to have a loyal team working secretly for his purposes. and why not also a bf #theres a lot we the audience know nothing about #and im not one to prioritize romantic relationships over any others or like ship characters for the hell of it #but i think it would be good for him and in-character godammit. id read that fic #cql txp
