(sorry, I know that's a lot of questions, I just love hearing about people's ocs!!!)

hi!! tysm for this i decided to split the questions between a fewww different characters (i should really get a character page together so this is less confusing)

18. is your sim neurotypical or neurodivergent?

i would consider her mildly autistic? most of the pack members are neurodivergent in one way or another though so it's not like a huge part of her life tbh

19. is your sim a pet person? if so what is their favourite animal?

most of the pack aren't really pet people in general sdfghk kind of a byproduct of becoming a giant wolf at least once a month. she really likes horses though, and is one of the few members of the pack to own one. his name is florus

she wass planning to go to college and major in physics and work her way up to astrophysics eventually

25. what is one thing your sims wants to do before they die?

this is ambitious of her but she really wants to discover her own brand new star. or planet. anything really, she isn't picky

28. does your sim like books? if so what’s their favourite one?

she's a stem girly and doesn't really enjoy reading thaaat much, especially fiction- i don't think she has a favourite book

insofar as he believes in the general tenets of confucianism (which can either be a philosophy or a religion depending on which way you look at it) and also ancestor worship, yes

41. what does your sim look for in a romantic partner?

he likes people who are very clear and honest about what they want and like- he admires courage a lot! he's sort of more of a follower than a leader mentality and he likes someone who'll take charge and be steadfast in their own beliefs. being short and cute is also something he's found he enjoys ghjkl

42. what is a secret about your sim?

he thinks sometimes he's a bit too serious and predictable and boring of a person ToT every attempt to drive himself out of his comfort zone has been WILDLY uncomfortable for him. the mullet is the most hip concession he can make for himself... dressing even slightly more daring than usual is terrifying for him

she'd like to visit japan sometime, see if she has any living family members over there. she's just never been outside of america...

44. what is a flaw your sim has?

when faced with a difficult situation she's very prone to hiding parts of the truth from others if she thinks they can't handle it or be of any active use in working out a solution. ummm a good comparison to this would be batman's tendency to hide the moving puzzle pieces of an unfolding case from his batfamily. it's not that she doesn't trust other people..... okay she might not trust other people. sometimes it works to her benefit but sometimes it might not

47. If they have one, what is your sim’s greatest regret?

she regrets not saving them. or at the very least telling them she loved them one last time

Okay these are juicy !!! Sorry this will be a long and rambly post ghjkl.

Philautia 1: Does your OC have a healthy sense of their own worth and value? Or do they see themselves as failing to live up to their original potential? Perhaps they are convinced of their own sinful or inadequate nature?

Oh no, not at all. Burden is a very sad and bitter individual, who is convinced that her whole existence was a mistake. This aspect was very much preyed upon by the church, who kept Burden’s beliefs of being a sinful child alive through her early teenagehood. She was taught that she was only to serve as a meat in the Ascension, someone easy to kill.

As an adult she found more and more purpose in life by being Aina’s friend and partner, but even that self-worth is something she built out of devotion to others.

Stroge 5: Is your OC able to love without necessarily needing or expecting reciprocation or reward? Or are all their relationships to some extent transactional? Have they ever loved another person unconditionally, whether a child or another adult?

This actually follows up perfectly with the first question. Burden views all relationships very much through a transactional lens, devoting herself to certain people with the hope that those people will love her a little back. She’d like to think she loves Aina unconditionally, but I don’t think Burden is really capable of loving someone without expecting a reward or a punishment based on their own actions. If she could, she’d just be Aina’s and do whatever she wants and tells her to be, for the exchange of being held by her. Aina tries to work with Burden to weaken this belief since she very much does love Burden unconditionally, and they certainly made progress before being sent to the death game.

I think a closest relationship to unconditional love or something alike is the friendship between Burden and Philip. They are both pretty quiet, but enjoy eachothers company. Burden likes to listen to him read poetry and Philip likes that there is someone to read to. They sit at the opposite ends of the sofa, but understand that the empty space between them is not out uncomfortability, but because both of them want it to be there.

Philip is also the one to kill Burden very late in the game. And it’s a much kinder death than she ever expected she’d have.

Pragma 2: What is the biggest challenge that your OC has had to overcome in a long-term relationship or friendship? What helped them get through this?

Okay for real though, she did make small steps on learning how to love herself more and letting herself be loved, without her needing to do anything special to warrant that. She did need a lot of gentle directing though. Talking to people who were not part of the church also helped a lot. Especially to the other people with no magic. I can only imagine that there are some therapy options/guidance for the people with no magic, since in the end, they do know that they have to take part of the death game at some point of their life.

Philia 2: Does your OC find it easy to make friends? Or are there barriers to them doing so? If so then are these due to issues of inclination, communication, or something else entirely?

Aina loves making acquaintances. She is sweet and surprisingly talkative and humorous. Her being very open about both her health and her having no magic are also something that draws people to come and talk with her. But friends? She kind of does not want to make more.

She does have few people in her life that she considers true friends, that she can let the mask fall with. In the end, Aina is upset that her life must come to an end so soon, and hates being treated as a martyr, when a similar faith has faced many people older and younger than her. She hates that there are already people mourning her death, when she is still alive and well. Maybe that’s why all her closest friends are other people with no magic, who are going to face the same fate that she will. Yes they all cope in their different ways, but at least no one is crying about how sad they will be once Aina dies.

Agape 5: Does your OC find it easy to empathise with their enemies? Or do they see it as important to dehumanise them in order to combat them with sufficient determination?

Aina is a bystander in every conflict they can be. She does love her enemies and will mourn them, but will also be comforted by the fact that her hands are not the ones around their throats. She can slice and stab, and defend herself, but if she can, she’d like to avoid a final blow. She doesn’t like to think how much influence she does have on people, who are willing to commit violence for her though.
