Can I ask about your Kuina theory? Youve mentioned it once or twice but I havent seen it laid out in full

I have it laid out better in a post I'll have to find, and be warned there's lots of speculation but it's a theory for a reason(one i will die by) but basically I think she was killed by order of the 5 elders. The dawn and joy boys return was prophesied even before oden, when the kozuki clan made the poneglyphs and told zou to hide theirs until the "dawn"(meaning the prophecy of joy boys return(Luffy))

Anyways... ryuma as zoros ancestor, was a very famous and revered swordsman and dubbed a king to the ppl of wano. His existence is so important to them that hiyori gave Zoro the one precious momento she had from Oden in order to get shusui back. So ryuma holds a lot of importance in the world. And then them touching on ushimaru being locked up by kaido (seems like there was somewhat of an orchestrated suppression of the samurai)(also that odas making a point to tie in the shimotsukis)..

Lol gosh I know I explained this better in my other post but... okay, kuina is a shimotsuki. If this prophecy mentioned "great swordsman that is a descendant of ryuma shimotsuki" then, in the worst gen, if the World gov was trying to track these prophesized individuals down, then, observing kuina, with the last name shimotsuki, being an incredible swordsman with natural talent, they'd target her. I have a lot of speculation around this bc it seemed her father discouraging her swordsmanship mightve been a way to protect her from following this "fate" and being targeted. Also it'd make sense that Zoro wasn't targeted bc his parents are dead and he has no attachment to the shimotsuki name anymore and also? He's losing to this girl. So to them, It's obviously this girl who was prophesized, right? Her dad's energy throughout the whole thing was weird to me too. Somber and somewhat angry?

I feel it even more given, the only others who were specifically attacked &targeted by the military were Robin and Franky. Robin who has connections w the poneglyphs, Franky who has connections with Pluton. And then we have Luffy, who was purposefully hidden away from the world, in the mountains, with a grandpa that BEGGED him not to follow his destiny. A grandpa who knew Roger. Who knows more than we know he knows. These specific ppl being targeted, Franky and Robin, garp knowing things and hiding away Luffy, is what makes me believe kuina was targeted and was the only one successfully stamped out, even though they got the wrong guy. Chopper nami sanji and usopp probably didn't seem as much of a threat so they weren't targeted or maybe weren't even prophesized bc they have no super big connects to the void century. (Although I am suspicious of brook)

I also think this will be a great moment for zoro if it becomes reality bc he'll have a moment where he realizes it should've been him instead of kuina and I can only imagine the emotions the would stir in him.

Hear me out—Redacted Supernatural(-ish) AU [Milo/Sweetheart Edition]

Listen listen i’m trying to finish supernatural (for the like tenth time over the last five years) and this idea would not leave me alone. Hear me out:

Sweetheart, who comes from a line of hunters, mother died when they were young, father taught them the ropes until he went missing. Milo, who is the son of a hunter, but he was raised normally. his dad died as well. Sweetheart is on a vendetta to get their dad back. He wasn’t always the best to them, but he’s all they got. they’re in town hunting something else, and decide to stop at Milo’s dad’s place to ask for help. they’re met with a woefully ignorant Milo and his aging mother. Marie explains what happened, which also reveals the truth to Milo. Milo doesn’t believe it at first, he throws the equivalent of a temper tantrum, which is understandable. He storms off, much to Sweetheart’s chagrin because it wasn’t safe out there. Marie tips them off that when Milo gets upset he usually ends up at the old park. They go out looking for him, worried that the thing they were hunting was going to beat them to it. They find him where his mother said he would be. They were relieved for about three seconds. the spirit got ahold of Milo. Sweetheart’s instincts kick in, and with Milo being a distraction they finally got the upper hand. When the thing was finally dealt with, they were able to tend to Milo, who got a few nasty gashes and was reasonably spooked, but was overall fine. the spirit got ahold of Milo. When they were getting ready to leave Milo stopped them. He wants to go with. He lost his dad young, didn’t really know the guy, and he could tell that this meant a lot to them. He wasn’t taking no for an answer, even after Sweetheart pointed out he’d be dead weight knowing nothing ab what they do. He promised he could learn. Marie wasn’t thrilled, but she knew it was inevitable. She made Sweetheart promise that they’d look after Milo if he went. Sweetheart still wasn’t convinced, and Milo basically had to strong arm his way into their car. They finally stopped fighting, figured he’d probably get scared off after a few hunts. They’d bring him back, leave him to live out his life, just a bit more aware of the nightmares. They’d be rid of him soon enough, they just had to wait. This doesn’t happen. No matter what, Milo still sticks by them. Sweetheart had given Milo information as they went, letting him look through their dad’s journal when they were staying in motels. They’d answer the questions, the inquiries, the what if situations. The two get closer over the months. Sweetheart is afraid they’re catching real feelings for this guy. They couldn’t love in a profession like theirs, not really. It was too dangerous. It’s why their dad never let them get too attached. But, something about Milo was… different. of course this story goes on, they fall in love, learn how to keep loving each other, trials and tribulations and near death experiences, the two find Sweetheart’s dad, he goes off on his own, Milo and Sweetheart probably keep hunting together but this time unabashedly in love, blah blah.

thats… that’s all i have. BUT i do really like this, i’m keeping it close to my heart.

Ok the best explanation for the whole complicated timeless child bullshit is that it was all a part of the time war.

Like maybe the daleks tried to pull a ‘genesis of the time lords’ so the division was created to ensure that time lord history took it’s ’correct course’ (maybe bar a few alterations such as preventing the death of rassilon) and that meant sending a time lord capable of regeneration back into the past to ensure the time lords greatest biological defense system was developed and thus allowed for the rise of their civilization and discovery of the time vortex.

So maybe they picked the war doctor because the time lords canonically love using the doctor as a pawn so they forced a regeneration and memory wipe like they did with 2 and sent him back in time to be the timeless child with modern day gallifrey being what was on the other end of that mysterious portal. Eventually through either living all the way through gallifrey’s history until the original point they were sent back (potentially becoming the other along the way) or time travel they returned to the division at the same point as they originally left in the form of Jo Martin’s Doctor. Then the division continued to use them as they saw fit until they believed the doctor was no longer needed and so forced another regeneration and wiped their memory. The war doctor we saw in day of the doctor may in fact be an ‘echo doctor’ of the younger version in night of the doctor, like fourteen or the curator, and then his timeline picks up as we know it.

Personally I think this is the best possible outcome of this whole storyline even if it is convoluted (tho a time war kinda should be convoluted) and until explicitly disproven, this is my headcanon.

I was thinking I'd probably see one of you! You're wrong :) Let's review the history a bit, shall we?

In this case, what we're talking about is the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft, or in English, The Institute of Sexology. This Institute was founded and headed by a gay Jewish sexologist named Magnus Hirschfeld. It was founded in July of 1919 as the first sexology research clinic in the world, and was run as a private, non-profit clinic. Hirschfeld and the researchers who worked there would give out consultations, medical advice, and even treatments for free to their poorer clientele, as well as give thousands of lectures and build a unique library full of books on gender, sexuality, and eroticism. Of course, being a gay man, Hirschfeld focused a lot on the gay community and proving that homosexuality was natural and could not be "cured".

Hirschfeld was unique in his time because he believed that nobody's gender was either one or the other. Rather, he contended that everyone is a mixture of both male and female, with every individual having their own unique mix of traits.

This leads into the Institute's work with transgender patients. Hirschfeld was actually the one to coin the term "transsexual" in 1923, though this word didn't become popular phrasing until 30 years later when Harry Benjamin began expanding his research (I'll just be shortening it to trans for this brief overview.) For the Institute, their revolutionary work with gay men eventually began to attract other members of the LGBTA+, including of course trans people.

Contrary to what Anon says, sex reassignment surgery was first tested in 1912. It'd already being used on humans throughout Europe during the 1920's by the time a doctor at the Institute named Ludwig Levy-Lenz began performing it on patients in 1931. Hirschfeld was at first opposed, but he came around quickly because it lowered the rate of suicide among their trans patients. Not only was reassignment performed at the Institute, but both facial feminization and facial masculization surgery were also done.

The Institute employed some of these patients, gave them therapy to help with other issues, even gave some of the mentioned surgeries for free to this who could not afford it! They spoke out on their behalf to the public, even getting Berlin police to help them create "transvestite passes" to allow people to dress however they wanted without the threat of being arrested. They worked together to fight the law, including trying to strike down Paragraph 175, which made it illegal to be homosexual. The picture below is from their holiday party, Magnus Hirschfeld being the gentleman on the right with the fabulous mustache. Many of the other people in this photo are transgender.

There was always push back against the Institute, especially from conservatives who saw all of this as a bad thing. But conservatism can't stop progress without destroying it. They weren't willing to go that far for a good while. It all ended in March of 1933, when a new Chancellor was elected. The Nazis did not like homosexuals for several reasons. Chief among them, we break the boundaries of "normal" society. Shortly after the election, on May 6th, the book burnings began. The Jewish, gay, and obviously liberal Magnus Hirschfeld and his library of boundary-breaking literature was one of the very first targets. Thankfully, Hirschfeld was spared by virtue of being in Paris at the time (he would die in 1935, before the Nazis were able to invade France). His library wasn't so lucky.

This famous picture of the book burnings was taken after the Institute of Sexology had been raided. That's their books. Literature on so much about sexuality, eroticism, and gender, yes including their new work on trans people. This is the trans community's Alexandria. We're incredibly lucky that enough of it survived for Harry Benjamin and everyone who came after him was able to build on the Institute's work.

As the Holocaust went on, the homosexuals of Germany became a targeted group. This did include transgender people, no matter what you say. To deny this reality is Holocaust denial. my top bit of advice going into the new year: compliment people. especially strangers. literally everyone you interact with if you can. when you buy coffee in the morning compliment the barista's tattoos. when you're chatting with a coworker tell them that by the way you like their outfit. always find something they've chosen to do on purpose. nail polish, jewellery, tattoos, hair colour/style, statement accessory, outfit, etc are all good bets. things people hope will be noticed. things that aren't too personal so it doesn't make them uncomfortable (eg probably not their physical features). i've gotten into the habit of scanning everyone i talk to for something about them that i think is cool so i can tell them. it's a great habit because it makes me notice people and realise just how many neat little details there are in people's presentation of themselves that might pass me by if i wasn't paying attention. and it brings out so much joy. you'd be surprised how much it disarms people to receive an unexpected compliment from someone they don't know. it is the most sincere smile you will see all day long. it feels nice to make people happy but it also means you win the social interaction. establish dominance by complimenting a stranger's earrings and disappearing into the fog
