Spooky season is here and I was just thinking about that tiktok (maybe) of the couple at the haunted house where the guy pushes the girl onto the feet of the ax wielding haunt and then the girl and haunt have a conversation that ends with the girl chasing the asshole with the ax and the haunt happily following her.
But make that Steddie. Steve as the girl. Set between seasons 3 and 4, but in a world where Steve going on a date with a man is surprise not a thing of revulsion (as in people would surprised that he was dating a guy having been a ladies man in high school, but no one would give him shit about it). Because it's my sand box, damn it. I make the rules here!
*
Steve wasn't sure what possessed him to go on this date with Jeremy. He didn't like haunted houses. He had seen too many real horrors in his life be frightened of fake ones. But Robin said he could pretend to be scared and cling to the guy's arm, maybe even get a kiss out of it.
What he wasn't expecting was for it to actually terrify him. He was clutching Jeremy's arm the whole way through, chanting in his head "don't hurt them, it's not real." Over and over again whenever the urge to push the actors away or in one extreme case when they were in the haunted hospital break the doctor's nose.
The actor looked too much like Dr Brennan, and while the patient on the gurney wasn't a girl or even had shaved hair, but Steve's protective instinct went into overdrive. It took every ounce of self-will Steve had to keep clutching Jeremy's arm.
They finally hit a room that didn't look so bad. It had a wood floor and four garish statues, one in each corner. Their fog machine was working in high gear but seemed to collect around one figure in particular.
It held an ax over its head, its mouth open in a silent scream. The robes that gathered around its sandled feet were perfectly rendered in stone. The sleeves of the robe revealed a couple of bat tattoos on the right forearm.
Steve was entranced, he let go of Jeremy's arm for the first time since they started and took a step toward it.
It was then the actor jumped off his pedestal and swung his ax down.
Jeremy did the inexplicable. Maybe even outright despicable thing. He pushed Steve forward into the waiting arms of ax murder. Steve stumbled landing on the actor's feet.
"Whoa!" the actor asked. "Are you okay?" He put the ax down and helped Steve get to his feet.
"Did he really just shove me at you to save his own ass?" Steve asked in shock.
The actor cocked his head to the side. "That's what it looked like to me. I hope that was a friend and not a date..."
Steve winced. "Sadly, the latter."
"Fuck, dude," the actor said. He spotted the ax. "You want to get revenge?" He picked up the ax and handed it to Steve.
Steve laughed. "Hell yeah!"
He ran after Jeremy, very plastic ax in hand, the actor cheering him on.
The next room was holding Jeremy so that he wouldn't be split from Steve and gotten lost. It was full of evil clowns. Something that apparently Jeremy was terrified of, judging by the screaming he had been doing.
The actors spotted Steve coming at their prey with an ax and Eddie cheering him from behind, they immediately clocked what had probably gone down. They let Jeremy pass them and two of the clowns broke off to chase him out of the haunted house, gaining cast members with each passing room (still enough remaining to scare other patrons but obviously gaining a crowd to hound this guy.)
He exited the haunted house screaming obscenities at Steve and the actors. The crowd laughing and pointing. He got into his car and drove off.
The smile slid off Steve's face. "Fuck. There goes my ride home."
The ax murder laughed as all the other actors went back inside. He pulled off his hood to reveal a mess of dark brown curls and grey face paint around his eyes on his lips. "I've gotcha, big boy."
"Eddie Munson, right?" Steve asked when he finally placed the face.
"Aww," Eddie cackled. "You do remember me."
Steve scoffed. "Kinda hard to forget."
Eddie's grin grew big. "Duly noted." He scratched the back of his head. "I am sorry about the shitty date though."
Steve shrugged. "It turned out more fun then I thought it would."
Eddie cocked his head again. "True. It's not every day you get chase away a bad date with plastic ax."
Steve handed it back to him. "Shouldn't you be getting back? Won't the other patrons find it odd when the room is empty of scares?"
Eddie smiled slyly. "Who says I left my post unattended?"
Steve's eyes went wide. "How many more of the statues are actors?"
Eddie leaned forward into his space. "I'll never tell," he said sing-song.
Steve laughed.
"Just let me inform my boss I'm taking you home and clean up this makeup, I'll get you home, Stevie," Eddie said.
"You don't have to do that," Steve mumbled. "I'm sure I could call someone."
Eddie shook his head. "Nah, I've got you."
"Thanks."
Ten minutes later Eddie was back on the pavement standing next to Steve. He was back in his usual shredded black jeans and leather jacket. But he wore a denim vest over top of it.
"I like the vest," Steve murmured. "I like pins and things."
"Patches," Eddie said.
Steve hummed his confusion.
"The other things are patches," Eddie explained.
Steve smiled. "That's cool."
Eddie pulled up to Steve's house without asking for directions.
"Should I ask how you knew that?" Steve asked as he got out of the van.
Eddie just waggled his eyebrows as he got out of the van too.
"You gonna walk me to the door, Eds?" Steve asked with a smirk.
"These woods behind your house are pretty fucking scary, dude," Eddie said with a huff of laughter.
Steve just shook his head and bit his tongue to avoid saying exactly how much.
They got to his door and Eddie pressed a kiss to Steve's lips.
It was sweet and warm. "What was that for?" Steve asked, breathlessly.
"Isn't that what you do at the end of a date?" Eddie asked with a teasing grin. "Walk them to door and give them a kiss good night?"
Steve laughed. "Yeah. Yeah it is. Good night, Eds."
"Good night, Stevie."
Eddie walked to his van. "If you want to go on a date that doesn't end you chasing your date with an ax, you know where to find me."
Steve grinned. "I might just take you up on that. Provided it's not another haunted house."
"Don't worry, baby," Eddie said with grin. "I'm loyal. Just a one haunted house kind of guy."
Steve shook his head and unlocked the door. Before he close it behind him he could hear Eddie celebrating, cheering and hollering.
Robin was never going to believe him when he told her how his date went.
But that's okay. She was right. It was fun.

Dragon hybrid!Bakugou x Reader
part 2
Synopsis: You and Bakugou are now getting used to life together. Will you finally find out that he sees you as his mate? As you both roam the festival will you both know each other’s true feelings? Be careful though danger lurks around the corner. Warning; nsfw? Part 2 to this
Wc: 1.9k
A/N: Hii! Thank you all for the support!! Here’s part 2 sorry it took so long lol I just finished with my school work. Hope you enjoy!
You were sleeping peacefully, dreaming lightly, when you felt something soft nudge your cheeks. “Wake..up” You groaned as a complaint and turned the other way to continue your soothing slumber. “Wake up” Now you feel someone laying on top of you, soft clouds tickling your neck. You start giggling and slowly open your eyes. It was Bakugou, cuddling on top of you, forcing you to wake up. He started playfully biting shoulder, then started giving kitten licks on your jaw. “I’m up! I’m up” You laughed as you continued feeling ticklish by Bakugou’s playful licks and bites. “Ab..out time..” Bakugou huffed and pouted as he helped you get started on the day.
Your day with Bakugou usually started with eating together. You would usually be the one cooking, but lately Bakugou began to enjoy cooking. He would always take the ingredients from you and start cooking. You offered many times to help, even in cutting the vegetables but he would simply dismiss you and say “Too danger..ous.. I cook.” He would make little explosions in his hand to start the fire, and you never fail to stare in awe. When eating he would look at you expectantly, and you would always praise his cooking “Mmmm! The flavors are melting on my tongue! You’re really great at cooking Bakugou!” He would blush at your words and shyly avoid looking at you while he ate his food. “Eat.. well.”
After eating, you both would do your chores, while you used to go look for food, he would now do it in your stead. When he comes back after hunting and foraging, he would immediately go to your side to help you in whatever you were doing. “Let me.. Help” He would say as he tries to get the sheets you were washing from your hands “Nooo! Its okay Bakugou! I can do this okay? You already went hunting for us” But he is ever so stubborn and still helps you by washing the remaining sheets and clothes. As you were washing sheets on a basin, looking at the bubbles gave you an idea. You took a bit of the soap foam bubbles and suddenly placed it on top of his nose. The look of confusion he gave you, as if you were going crazy, made you laugh loudly. He looked at you as if you grew two heads, he removed the bubbles on his nose, and placed some on yours. You continued laughing and he looked at you confused before slowly chuckling himself. “Weird Y/N”
After your chores, you both would prepare for your little study session. Ever since Bakugou became part of your home, you would teach him how to read, write, and speak your language. It was admittedly difficult at first, but he learns fast and soon enough you could talk to him with ease. Although there are still words he doesn’t know and he still finds some words difficult to say due to his dragon tongue. “Y/N..what is.. This.?” You would teach him the things he didn’t know, and if you had questions about him, he did his best to answer. “Umm so Bakugou.. That time we met, why were you..hurt?” He looked up to you “I.. don’t remember”
“Oh.. I’m sorry.”
“Its okay”
“Well, where did you come from Bakugou?”
“Somewhere far”
“Do you want to go back to your home?”
He looked you in the eye and said in a gentle yet serious tone “You are my home” You blushed at his words and quickly returned to writing stuff for him. After your little session with him, you would eat then take a bath separately. You started taking baths separately ever since you saw his.. Well you know. After the fresh bath, it's off to bed for both of you. Though you both took a bath already, he would snuggle real close to you and begin rubbing himself on you. At first you found it weird, but it was oddly relaxing so you just let him do his thing. Little did you know he was actually scenting you. And just like that both of you would fall asleep in each other's arms.
This was now the routine for both of you daily. Today while you were both studying, basking in the comfortable silence surrounding both of you, you suddenly got an idea. “Bakugouu” you say as you lean on his arm. He turned to you blushing slightly “What..?” You smiled at him and asked “Would you like to go to the village with me? There will be a festival there tonight! Lots of delicious food, pretty lights, fun games.. Oh! And there will be a firework display!”
“Fire..work..??”
“It's basically some pretty fire in the sky!... i think.. Anyway, it seems fun and you’ve never been to the village before.. So what do you say?”
Bakugou seemed to think about it for a while. “Oh but if you’re not comfortable with it then its okay! I’ll make sure to bring you back some good stuff” He looked lost at thought then finally spoke “Would they not be.. sc.ared of me..?” He looked at you with puppy eyes and you swore you felt your heart skip a bit. “Hmm.. well I can’t speak for everyone..haha..” “You were sc-ar..ed of me..” “Well yeah! You were going to attack me!” ”...S..orry..”
You suddenly felt bad, you knew that he was probably just trying to protect himself “hey.. Don’t feel too bad it wasn’t your fault” “I’ll go.. I want to go.. To fes..tivul" “Oh great!! Don’t worry I’ll protect you okay” You raised your arm to flex your non-existent muscles and Bakugou laughed. He thinks that you are the most fragile thing in the world. You both were preparing to go to the village, Bakugou told you that he didn’t want others to know that he was a dragon hybrid so you went and gave him a long haori to hide his tail. You told him that the others will just think of his horns as a headpiece as others would be wearing masks and such. You both went to the village and Bakugou was stunned by the beautiful lights and cheery people. You went to some food booths and bought food for the both of you. “Here say ahhh!” He looked at you before opening his mouth and you fed him. He was very flustered but it went away quickly as he tasted the food you gave him “it..s good.” As you both ate he made a mental note to remember the spices and tastes to improve his cooking.
You both roamed around the festival and found a good and secluded place to sit to watch the fireworks. As you both were waiting for the fireworks Bakugou knew that this would be the time to tell you, his mate, what he feels for you. Slowly he held your face to look at him. “Hmm? What's wrong?” He looked at you, his eyes serious with a glint of softness for you. “I…need to tell you s..omething.” You felt your heart race as you looked at him, a soft blush engulfing your features.
“I like you.. No I love you.. mate” He said as he gently smiled. The way he held you was like you were the most precious thing in the world, and to him, you were. You both looked at each other for a while, he suddenly felt nervous because you weren’t responding, did you not like him back? Was he just imagining all the soft touches between the two of you? The gentle words and the soft looks? Just as he was about to pull away you suddenly moved. You came closer and closer to him.. Barely any space between the two of you.
“I love you too”
You closed the space between the two of you with a soft kiss. Bakugou closed his eyes and deepened the kiss.
His hands tangled in your hair, your hands holding onto his broad shoulders. Soft moans were coming from the both of you. He pulled you in closer and you let yourself be engulfed in his warmth. You felt his tongue drag across your bottom lip, asking for access. You opened your mouth and his tongue explored yours. You felt lightheaded, as if everything was melting. The kiss was getting passionate, too much if you suppose, as both your tongues fought for dominance, his long tongue winning for sure, a low growling coming from him. You were getting handsy as your hands went to his chest. He pulled you on top of his lap and started grinding you on his hardening length. You were beginning to moan loudly and his growling and purring got louder as well. You pulled away from the passionate kiss, a string of saliva connecting both of you, panting, you said “Bakugou please..” He growled and made you lie down then-
Boom
Bakugou looked up in surprise and covered your body to protect you. It was the fireworks. You giggled and told him that it was harmless “Look Bakugou! Look at all the pretty colors!” He slowly looked up and saw what seemed to be dancing colors in the dark sky. He looked in awe as it was his first time seeing it. You hugged him while you both watched the sky. “Let’s come here at every festival okay?” “hmm” Bakugou hummed in approval as he watched the sky. He turned to look at you and kissed your cheeks. “You.. prettiest” You laughed and said “You mean prettier?” “No, prettiest” You blushed and knew right then, Bakugou has your entire heart and soul.
The walk back home was very comforting as you both held hands, his thumb caressing yours. You couldn’t stop thinking about what happened earlier and what would happen if the fireworks didn’t take both of you in surprise. You wondered what this meant for both of you from now on. Would things between you change? Little did you know Bakugou also couldn’t stop thinking about the events earlier. He cursed himself for being startled by the pretty lights in the sky. But now that both of you knew each others’ feelings, Bakugou knew that he was yours and you were his. You were now both laying down on the bed and cuddling, your head on his chest while he played with your hair. Surprisingly after what happened earlier you both weren’t doing anything naughty. “Bakugou?” “Ye..ss mate?” You blushed at the name. “Since, I’m your mate now.. Is there anything else that I should know? Like, what dragons do and stuff?” Bakugou thought about it for a while. “Nothing for now.. I tell you when time come..s” Bakugou had already thought about all the things he had to teach and prepare you for, his heat isn’t coming yet, but you had to be ready to take all of him in. At first he was wary if you wanted him, but after what happened earlier he got reassured. You weren’t scared of him anymore. You both drifted to sleep waiting excitedly for the next days to come.
“Hmm..?” You were disturbed from your sleep by sounds coming outside. You checked if Bakugou was awake and to your surprise he was still asleep. Usually he was first to notice these types of things. You hesitantly got up, still tired and sleepy, to go and check the sounds outside. As you stepped outside and looked there was nothing there. You were about to go back inside when someone hit you at the back of your head. You fell down, the last thing you saw were people entering your home. You had to warn Bakugou! But as you tried to open your mouth your eyes felt heavy. You lay on the ground unconscious.
Here is Part 3 !
A/N: heyy!! Thanks for bearing with me lol i think this chapter was too long but i hope you enjoyed it! I almost went straight ahead with the smut lol i’ll probably be making another part since if i included the next events this part might get too long. Gonna ask me to dance, Cowboy?
Jasper Hale X Reader
Summary: Reader was in an accident that damaged her spinal cord and left her temporarily wheelchair bound. It's during this time that the Cullens move to Forks, and she meets and falls in love with Jasper. A little bit of your story, wrapped up with a big surprise at the end. Requested by @twilightlover2007
Words: 2457
Note: Obviously went with Jasper and boy did this take on a life of its own! I hope you like it!!! It's a little cheesy, but that's what I like.
Disclaimer: I have limited knowledge of temporary paralysis and life with a wheelchair. If I'm wrong about anything, please let me know!
---
The accident happened before the Cullens moved to Forks. You don’t remember much of it, which the doctor says can be common given the head trauma you experienced. All you know is that you were driving home from a game and a drunk driver decided not to stop at the red light.
The accident left you with some severe damage to your spinal cord. Not irreversible, but enough to strand you in a wheelchair. It took almost two months alone for the fractures in your leg to heal, and then another to find a good physical therapist in Seattle who could work with you.
In the midst of this, the Cullens showed up. And you fell for Jasper like a newborn fawn trying to walk for the first time. A fitting comparison considering your legs worked just as well.
Your friends thought you were crazy. Afterall, he was the least…approachable of the group. Always frowning. Not at all talkative. Everyone thought he was a bit of a grouch. But you knew better.
You met the real Jasper the first Friday after they arrived. It was another game day, meaning your little high school was going all out cheering for the team throughout the day (even though everyone knew you didn’t stand a fighting chance).
You were making your way to the pep rally at the end of the day when someone jostled you from behind, sending your wheelchair right over the sidewalk’s ledge and into the grass. You cursed the school’s outdoor hallways so hard that day. It was raining, as it always was, and the moment your wheels hit the ground, you could feel them sink into the mud.
You were effectively trapped.
Or at least, you thought you were. Until a certain blond appeared out of nowhere.
---
“Are you alright, miss?”
You huff out a laugh, trying to keep a smile despite it all, “Yah, yes, I’m okay. Just a little stu-”
When you look up, the words get stuck in your throat. Jasper Hale. Jasper Hale is standing right in front of you, in the rain, hair already sticking to his face, and despite the concern dripping from his features, you can’t help but notice how absolutely gorgeous he is. How did you not notice before?
Before you can stop yourself, the thoughts spill out of your mouth, “Wow, you’re really pretty.”
Shock flickers across the blond’s face, though it’s quickly replaced by a soft smirk that makes his eyes crinkle just a little, somehow making him look more attractive. You blink. And blink. And blink. Until what you said finally sinks in.
Your face goes impossibly red.
“I am so sorry,” you squeak, eyes wide. His smile only widens when you continue to sputter, “I’m fine! Really. And um, I, you can, you don’t have to worry! I’ll just-”
You try to push yourself forward, anything to escape this moment, but your wheels just spin futilely in the mud. You’re not going anywhere, not without help, and Jasper seems to know that, his gold eyes glinting with amusement. You purse your lips, face only going darker.
“Would you like help, darlin’?” Jasper asks, voice low and honey-like, and wow - it seems so unfair for someone to look so handsome and sound like that too.
You cast him an embarrassed smile, “Yes please. If you really don’t mind, that is.”
The blond chuckles, the sound making your heart flutter. He makes it look effortless, the way he maneuvers you out of the grass and back onto the hallway sidewalk. You hum happily when you’re back on solid ground, wheeling back and forth a bit to dislodge the mud from your rims.
“That’s better,” you sigh, spinning back to face him, “Thank you so much.”
Jasper nods, “It was my pleasure, miss.”
You roll your eyes playfully, “Please, call me (Y/n). (Y/n) (L/n). Miss makes me feel so old, and I’m like, a hundred percent sure you’re older than me.”
Something flickers behind his eyes, but it disappears as quickly as it came.
“Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss (Y/n).” You narrow your eyes, but he only grins a little teasingly, which you refuse to admit makes your pulse race even more. “The name’s Jasper Hale.”
“Nice to meet you too, Jasper.” Officially at least.
“I suppose you were headin’ to the rally?”
Your nose scrunches,“Yep. Before the impromptu shower, at least.”
“Would y’mind if I accompany you?”
Blinking, you glance up at him in surprise. Jasper just looks down at you, face still set in a charming, calm smile, so different from the scowl you’d grown accustomed to in passing. He’s being genuine. Actually genuine. It makes your face go warm all over again.
“I think I’d like that.”
---
You don’t know what possessed Jasper Hale to help you that day, but he did.
From then on, you and Jasper became friends. He was still a bit odd, but his whole family was. And you liked them. Even Rosalie, whose bluntness was refreshing compared to most of the girls at your school. You befriended all of them, but you and Jasper were particularly close.
Falling for him was easy. Between the soft smile he seemed to reserve only for you and the way he always supported you, how could you not? You realized it after a particular hard day of physical therapy, when your legs were aching and it felt like you were making absolutely no progress. It was a day that Jasper offered to pick you up because your dad had to work late.
---
Jasper can tell you’re upset before he even reaches you.
You sit at the entrance to the rehab center, head ducked, fingers fidgeting in your lap. You see Jasper’s shoes first before he’s kneeling in front of you, honey eyes dark with concern as they flicker over your features. You look back at him, eyes blurry with unshed tears.
The blond’s gaze softens, “Oh, darlin’.”
And you break.
All the pent up frustration and guilt you’ve been holding onto comes pouring out. You manage to stay quiet, barely, but your whole body trembles with your tears as you collapse forward into Jasper’s arms. He holds you close, not saying a word, just humming softly into your hair.
The longer you stay like that, the calmer you feel. It’s like magic, the storm of your emotions calming to a dull roar, until you can take in a few deep breaths
It’s only when your hiccuping goes quiet that he draws you back, eyes scanning you again. You glance down, feeling too raw, too vulnerable like this, with his thoughtful gaze burning over you. But you also feel undeniably safe somehow.
“You’re doin’ so well, darlin,” he eventually murmurs, voice low, soothing your frayed edges. “I know you’ve been hurtin’ and you’re feelin’ like giving up, but we’re all so proud of you. Someday you’ll be back on your feet and I’ll be here ‘til that day comes. And long after it.”
It’s the most you think you’ve ever heard him say at once. His words ring with something so genuine, you can’t help but melt.
“Thanks, Jasper.”
“Always, darlin.”
---
It felt like more than a promise about that day. More than just a friend being there for another friend. And it was the moment you realized you really liked Jasper Hale.
It was only a matter of time before you learned about his world.
None of them told you, of course. They couldn’t. But the truth was hard to deny when a lone vampire came through Forks and almost killed you.
You knew it was a bad idea to go out by yourself. Even though your legs were getting stronger from your perseverance in physical therapy, you still couldn’t walk by yourself. Which made you quite the easy target.
Luckily, Jasper was just in time to save you.
After the shock, though, came all your questions. Why did that man try to bite you? How did Jasper throw him all the way down the alley? How did he know where to find you and that you were in trouble?
A silently distraught Jasper ended up taking you back to the Cullen house. The air was tense, except for Alice, who was more than excited. She foresaw it all, of course.
Carlisle explained it all to you as Jasper paced off to the side. A scowl lingered on his lips, his eyes set on something distant. The moment you felt a flicker of panic though, he was there, kneeling at your side, smoothing a hand over your shoulder. You covered his with your own, holding on so tightly that if he were human, he'd probably be hissing in pain. You had a good grip strength from wheeling around for a few months.
It took time to settle into this new reality. Jasper gave you space to process, scared to push you too hard, but you wouldn’t have it. Vampire or not, you couldn’t stand the distance. You hadn’t realized just how ingrained he was in your life until then. Whenever something happened, no matter how small it was, you wanted to rush to him and tell him everything. You hated life without him.
So you ended up asking him out.
Dating came as naturally as breathing. Nothing changed. He still drove you to physical therapy and walked you to all of your classes. Only now, he would press a kiss to your forehead when you parted ways and take you on dates after every p.t. appointment.
You had never been happier.
That’s when you came up with an idea for the upcoming school formal.
---
“You ready, darlin?” Jasper pauses at your side of the car, wheelchair pulled out and set up behind him.
You grin, squashing the nerves buzzing in your chest before he can sense them, “Yes! Now help me out of here, mister.”
The blond chuckles. He helps you down from the car, touch overwhelmingly tender, as if he’s scared of breaking you. Which, you suppose, he could. You settle into your wheelchair with practiced ease, your dress only causing a little trouble.
The night starts off perfectly. You take your pictures and meet up with his siblings inside the venue. Everything is beautiful. As usual, Forks high went all out with the theme. It’s something cheesy, like ‘a night under the stars’, everything draped in a deep navy blue, the ceiling decorated with shimmering stars.
When the dancing starts, you give Alice the cue. She sends you a little wink before dashing off to the dj booth. You catch Edward grinning out of the corner of your eye. It was impossible to keep him out of it, what with the whole mind reading thing, so you just shoot the man a playful glare. He stifles a chuckle, making an excuse to go get some punch, despite the fact he can’t drink it.
Sighing softly, you steel your nerves, spinning back to your boyfriend.
“Hey,” you call, catching the cuff of his suit.
Jasper’s eyes turn to you, and oh, wow, you’ll never get used to that. The way he looks at you, it’s like you’re one of the stars decorating the night. His eyes glow with an overwhelming warmth and something so so fond. All of a sudden it feels like you’re the only two in the room, everything else fading away.
“Yes, darlin?”He hums, slipping your hand into his to brush his thumb over your knuckles.
The touch sends sparks cascading over your skin, settling in your chest among the wild butterflies. You bite your lip to try and hold back a massive smile.
“You gonna ask me to dance, cowboy?” You tease.
A smirk pulls at the corner of his mouth.
Jasper makes a show of pretending to tip a hat, voice bright with amusement, “My apologies ma’am. I shouldn’t have kept you waitin’.”
“Mmm, I’ll forgive you,” you hum, biting back a laugh, “just this once, Mister Hale.”
“That’s very kind of you, darlin. Now, would you give me the pleasure of escortin’ you to the dance floor?”
“Why, of course.”
Jasper figures he’ll hold you up as you dance, or maybe spin you while you sit. Anything you want.
Except you do neither of those things. Instead, you gather every ounce of your strength, and shakily push yourself to your feet. Your wheelchair disappears (thank you Alice) and you stand there, all on your own.
After a few seconds, you’re certain that your legs won’t give out, and glance up at the blond expectantly.
Jasper stares back at you, eyes wide, brows arched. It almost looks like he’s forgotten to breathe, his whole body rigid. Shocked. Your grin finally breaks loose, so wide it makes your cheeks ache. Squeezing his hand, you take a tentative step closer. A little wobbly, but you stay standing. It’s only one step, but -
You’re walking.
In an instant, Jasper’s hands are cupping your face, and it’s only then you realize you’re crying. Tears race down around your smile and he’s quick to wipe them away, drawing you close so he can rest your foreheads together.
“My Lord, darlin-” He lets out a breathless laugh. “-you’re goin’ t’make this old man’s heart start again.”
You giggle, curling your arms around his neck, “I wanted to surprise you.”
“Been a long time since I’ve been surprised.”
“But I did?”
“Yes, you certainly did.”
Jasper leans down, pressing his lips to yours. It’s soft, featherlight, and you feel like you’re floating. It’s perfect. Everything about it is perfect and so much better than you expected.
The vampire pulls back, just enough to whisper against your lips, “You’re amazin’ darlin. Absolutely amazin’.”
“I couldn’t have done it without you,” you hum back, “Now, dance with me, cowboy.”
Your song comes on. The one you first danced with Jasper to in your kitchen, when he set you on his feet and held you close to support your weight. A knowing grin falls across his lips, his eyes creasing as he looks down at you.
“It would be my pleasure.”
Unlike that first time, you don’t have to stand on his feet. You don’t even have to clutch onto him to stay upright. Instead, you rest your hands on his shoulders, and Jasper traces his along your waist. The two of you move together slowly, perfectly.
By the end of it, you’re leaning against him, head tucked under his chin, just soaking in the feeling of his arms around you, his lips pressed to the crown of your head. Your legs are shaking, but you don’t care.
This is everything you could ever ask for.

I had fun writing this!! It came really clearly for me, though it ended up being a lot longer than I thought because I wanted to add so much exposition.

Okay so like hear me out.
Reader went on a quest years ago when her and Clarisse were still young and they went missing/were pronounced dead. But in reality they got stuck in the Lotus Casino so when Chiron sent some campers to retrieve campers that he already knew were stuck there they found the supposedly “dead” reader playing in the arcade.
Reader goes back to camp and finds Clarisse after all these years and returns like some weapon or smth that Clarisse gave them so they could defend themselves. (Reader obviously aged somehow so theres no weird age gap or smth)

Pairings - Clarisse La Rue x Fem! Reader
An - i tried to find a way to write this without a plot hole since in the lotus hotel you don’t age key example nico di-Angelo so I hope this helps some 😭😭
Tumblr media
“It’s Vegas”
“No it’s the best place in America. AND! And they have legal gambling” you laughed walking along side clarisse down the streets of Las Vegas.
Being placed on a mission together you both had an older saytr leading. Your main assignment was to locate a demigod that was near by and to help return them to camp safely.
Brushing your hands against clarisses you blushed some, it was just a dumb crush. You were 13 and so was she anything that could between you both was just pointless. Contrasting your thoughts however clarisse slowly reached over taking your hand.
The saytr guide gave you both a teasing face causing clarisse to pull her hand away embarrassed. As the guide chuckled turning back to lead the way you patted your cheeks trying to make the burning feeling go away.
After about an hour you all decided on getting lunch. While just waiting outside with clarisse she tapped your shoulder making you look at her.
“Here.. I saw your dagger got broken in our last fight so have mine” she tried hard to play it off but you could tell she was really just trying to show a form of love.
“Thanks” you happily smiled taking the blade back. Looking down at the blade you could see in the reflection clarisse looking Away embarrassed. Cute
It was weird.
One minute you were running away from a hippalectryon, next you were laying on the ground with a glowing wolf over you? Then you woke up in a casino like hotel.
The following week felt unreal, gambling every once in a while. Finding other demigods and running around with them, meeting some kids who said the Roman gods were real? Weird. Even becoming friends with this small kid named nico who un-ironically liked mythomagic just as much as you.
Being so caught up in the moment you hadn’t realized your body and mind growing. On Monday you were happy to eat a tub of ice cream all day while most people treated you like a kid, on Tuesday you were schooling some little kid on why he shouldn’t cheat in games and the older demigods you had seen before suddenly invited you to hangout with them.
Sitting in the lounging area you saw a familiar set of bright orange shirts paired with some of your friends you had just met. Quickly getting up you jogged over. “Hey! Wait up!” Finally standing before them your happy face turned to confusion. “Chris..?”
The Chris you suddenly Remembered had been 14 and recently shaved his head as he lost a bet now.. he looked older, way more muscular than before and for some reason he seemed more mature.
“Holy shit” he spoke shocked. Almost scared he reached out grabbing your shoulders. “What’s your name” he cautiously spoke.
“Yn Chris when did you get so old” you shoved his hands off of you. You had been gone a week not a lifetime.
“Are You dead?” He asked earning him an unamused look from you. Placing your hands on your hips you gave a heavy sigh. “No I’m not dead why are you asking”
“Because you’ve been dead for three years”
..
What..
The ride back to camp was weird. While Travis and Connor drove the truck back to camp you talked with Chris as he updated you and all the campers with you that in-fact everyone was trapped with the lotus eaters.
Though what confused him and everyone else was how you were able to age and mature like a normal person.
Pulling your dagger out from your side you studied it ashamed. So much time passed without you.. your siblings grew up, the camp evolved, it was like you didn’t even belong in this timeline. Shining the celestial bronze blade a sudden memory came back to you.
A girl named clarisse came back to you. A girl named clarisse who you loved, came back to you. With that all the flustered emotions of a young teenager followed suit as well.
Stepping inside to camp a familiar sense of comfort washed over you. Three years later and the damn place still hadn’t changed.
Though the walk though camp was awkward to say the least. All your friends were 16/17 now and there was so many new kids and dead ones that it was honestly a lot.
Eventually you found yourself sitting in the Aphrodite cabin with silena, leaning on her bed laughing like it was old times.
“You know what!” The daughter Aphrodite smiled leaning over the side. “There’s a certain lesbian here who misses you”
“Who” You chuckled slowly remembering everything. Silena looked at you with a knowing look. “Wait clarisse?! No no she doesn’t— we never liked each other like that” you laughed trying to play it off.
“Then I guess it won’t be weird for you to go meet up with her right now”
After a silent back and forth you caved in standing up. “Fine! I’ll go see her but we’re just friends” You warned leaving the cabin.
Jogging into the arena you had to take a moment to appreciate what you saw in-front of you. 5’10 and lean just swinging her spear around with a concentrated look plastered on her face. Even even she was taking her anger out clarisse was still beautiful.
She stuck her spear into the sand and started tying her curly hair back. Placing her hands on her hips she let out a heavy sigh just letting the energy fall away from her body.
Slowly walking towards her you cleared your throat nervous… justtt friends that’s what you were. “Hey..” you managed.
Instantly she looked over stunner and a little embarrassed. Clarisse didn’t move, didnt even speak. She opened her mouth for only a second before just closing it again not sure what to say.
Deciding to take the first step you gently patted your sides. Pulling the dagger from your side you held it out. “I figured I don’t need it anymore so I should return it-“
“Keep it” she quickly spoke. “Sorry.. I’m just, it’s been a long time” a tired breath left her lips causing you to blush slightly.
“Right..“ placing the blade away you looked back up deciding that maybe just standing in silence was the best think to do.
What felt like an eternity soon came to an end when clarisse decided to finally speak up. “Can we.. can we hangout tommorow” she slowly asked.
Nodding your head adamantly you smiled. “Yeah, I’d like that a lot.”
———
“Shut up it did not feel like a week” clarisse laughed walking around the forest with you. For majority if the day you both had just spent time together, almost like a date.
Now with the moon rising you both decided to finish the hangout off with a walk in the woods. “It did” you giggled. “I swear to the gods I was only there for a week”
She just rolled her eyes. “Must of been nice” she mumbled shaking her head. Confused you chuckled back. “What do you mean?”
“Well you didn’t have to spend three years thinking the first girl you ever actually fell in love with was dead and having to find some way to continue yourself that leaving her to bleed out after she protected you from dying wasn’t yourself and was the right thing to do”
You stopped walking and just looked up at clarisse. “You love me”
She looked back at you and just shrugged her shoulders. She was completely different from the dumb childhood crush you had. Slowly you grabbed clarisses arm and took her hand into yours. Looking down you smiled as she was wearing one of your favorite rings.
“I don’t remember a lot. I don’t know how I ended up in the hotel.. but what I do remember is that throughout my long week stay I always remembered a girl who could effortlessly make me laugh and always made my stomach do flips” a small laugh left your mouth. “Out of everything and everyone I always remembered being in love with you clarisse”
Shyly with her free hand she cupped the side of your face. Brining you close to her she muttered. “Can I Kiss you..”
Laughing some you nodded. “Yeah you can kiss me”
Placing her lips onto yours you couldn’t help b it smile happily. It made you feel warm how some way some how clarisse waited for you. Guess it was a good think to since you had no choice but to wait for her too.

Eddie x cheerleader! Reader, so, Eddie's FWB ends things with him and he's kinda sad about it, but during a deal with Cheerleader! Reader, she offers to make him feel better (hurt/comfort to smut?)

Deal?
Tumblr media
Y/N has bought weed from Eddie for months. She was one of the only cheerleaders that wasn't scared off by Jason's freak speech. As a result, she got sent to do everyone's deals. But she didn't mind, she enjoyed talking to Eddie.
He was energetic, funny, and the life of the party. He could make anything fun. Y/N enjoyed talking to him because she finally got to talk to someone real.
But today he seemed distracted. He was quick to deal, with no small talk as he silently separated the bags of weed. Y/N watched him closely. She noticed the frown on his forehead, the pout of his lip, the defeated sighs that kept escaping from his lips.
"Okay, what's wrong?" She finally asked, he was about to stand up to leave.
"Nothing." He shrugged, continuously packing up his stuff.
"Sit and talk. We're friends. Let me listen." She offered, and she gave an encouraging smile as he thought it over.
"Remember Becca?" Eddie asked, sitting down back on the bench. His eyes looked over Y/N as she tried to remember the name.
"Sex girl right?" Y/N remembers slightly talking about a Becca. But it always was about sex.
"Yeah. Well, she ended our little exchange and I'm screwed." Eddie sighed, he put his elbows on the table, crossed his arms, and leaned down on it. His face was close to the table as Y/N softly hit his nose.
"Eddie, you're hot. You can easily go to a bar and ask for a fuck." Y/N didn't see the big deal. It was just a girl, and he could find another.
" I need....just never mind." But Y/N didn't let him adventure off.
"Explain."
"I struggle to sleep. Like I went days without sleeping. And I learned that if I have sex or an orgasm, it helps me sleep. But it's like immediately if I'm in bed. I can't bring a girl over and pass out in seconds. She could rob me or think I'm a loser. Becca understood that and she stayed. Some nights she'd stay the whole time and some she left once I was asleep for a few hours to make sure it worked. She understood me. " Eddie explained. He felt like an idiot. It was such a first-world problem. Here he is crying about not getting fucked to sleep.
"What if I help?" Eddie snapped his head up to look at her, sitting up straight.
"Um, what?" Eddie choked. Spit stuck in his throat as he coughed.
"You explained it all to me. I understand what you need. " She said, standing up and walking over to him. She stood behind him, her lips against his ear as her hands ran down his chest.
"It can be a little deal. You call me when you need help sleeping, and I get free weed. Sound fair?" Eddie shivered as her voice ran chills down his spine. Her hands slowly moved down to his belt.
"But...you sure?" His voice went higher in pitch as she unbuckled his belt. Her lips softly kissed his jaw. He looked around, he saw nothing but trees. He couldn't even see her, but he loved feeling her pressed against him.
"Definitely. Tell me it's a deal." She said, her hands were now in his boxers, her fingers circling his tip.
"It's a deal." He moaned, a smile on her face. She removed her hand for a second, her palm under his chin.
"Spit"
Eddie spit in her hand, moaning as she yanked his hair. His head flung back as she kissed his jaw and neck. Her wet hand was back in his boxers. She ran her fingers up and down his length. She enjoyed the way he stuttered and shook.
"I know, baby. Just let me make you feel better." She encouraged. She wrapped her hand around his cock and began to jerk him off.
Eddie felt his nails digging into his palm. His mind was racing. He can't lie, he always thought of Y/N in a more friendly way. But never did he think she'd be giving him a handjob in the middle of the woods behind school.
"See, no reason to be sad. She's just a girl." Y/N whispered but Eddie could only think about her. Becca lost his head as Y/N's name was on his lips.
"Fuck, Y/N." He moaned as she sped up. He could feel every muscle tightening but also melting. He felt like he wasn't even there.
"That's it." She praised them, he could feel himself getting closer and closer. He looked down, seeing her hand disappear under his boxers, his jeans down to his ankles.
"Close." He warned, expecting her to speed up but she stopped. He went to protest when she asked him to turn around. He was confused but listened.
He turned himself around, kicking off his jeans. He now faced her as she dropped to her knees.
"Oh, you're gonna kill me," Eddie smirked, and she winked in response.
She felt branches digging in her knees but she didn't mind. She wrapped her lips around his cock, grabbed his hand, and placed it on her head.
Eddie got the hint and began to move her head. Helping her bob up and down on him. His hands gripped her ponytail as he fucked her throat. He chased his orgasm, moaning as his stomach clenched.
He tried to pry his eyes open to look down. Her eyes were watering as she gagged around him.
"Cumming!" He moaned, both his hands pushing down on her head as he came. Forcing her further down his cock as he shook. She felt his cum hit the back of her throat, breathing through her nose the best she could.
Once he slipped out, she took a deep breath. She coughed a few times as she stood up. She leaned down and used his shirt to clean her lips. Eddie always came a second time.
She dug in her backpack and grabbed a sharpie. She wrote her number in his palm.
"Call me." She winked. Eddie put his sensitive cock back in his boxers. His eyes on her as she wandered off.
Eddie has no idea what just happened.
But he knew for sure he was calling her.

The pungent smell of fryer grease sifted through the air of Benny’s, a mountain of food divided into a few plates as you sat with Robin, who was in the midst of discussing her most recent ‘study date’ with Vickie.
“Get this! We’re sitting there, talking about chemistry, and bam!” Robin exaggerates, voice lowering in fear of someone overhearing, “She looked at me and kissed me!”
You gasp, smacking her shoulder with the back of your hand, a french fry between your thumb and index finger.
The couple had kissed a few times now, but the excitement remained as you knew how badly your friend pined over the redhead.
“We just need to find you someone now.” She teased, taking a bite of her grilled cheese as a string of orange came from between the bread.
“I’m determined to get laid by the end of this month,” You proclaimed, giving yourself around 30 days, “I want to experience it because when or if I present, I want to be somewhat prepared.”
Presenting was a concern for your age group, freshly out of high school, as everyone awaited to discover if they would become an alpha or omega. There had been a few start to show, including your best friend, Steve.
His presentation was expected, his father a well-known alpha in town, and the traits of one showed early. He was fiercely protective of those he cared about, known to be more than good in the sheets, and strong. Having grown up with him, you saw it happen in real time, making it even stranger when you realized how attractive he became.
Still, Robin supported you on your journey, but worried for your safety. Over analyzing any recollection you shared of a man flirting with you, deciding he was a murderer or ugly, or both.
In her bedroom, you stood in a loose blouse, tucked into a jean skirt and a matching jacket. Applying another layer of lipstick, you fretted over your appearance as you waited for the clock to strike 6:30, and for your date to pick you up here.
“Steve is coming over.” Robin mentioned, sipping on her water bottle, sitting cross-legged on her bed.
“Okay,”  You reply, “We just need him gone by the time Devin comes.”
Steve was a great best friend, but he could be a real pain in the ass. He had been scaring any potential boyfriend away since middle school, deeming them not good enough or them being too intimidated by him as he faked a macho persona.
For the plan to work, he couldn’t know. He would go on a tangent about how you didn’t have to have sex just to do it. That was true, but it was hard to listen to a guy who had numerous sexual partners preach it.
The front door swung open as if on cue as you and Robin went to the living room, Steve kicking off his shoes. He began his rant about work, Family Video making him lose hair from stress and children yanking on his hair.
You paid attention, but kept an extra eye on the clock, noticing the hands nearing 6:30. Cursing Steve’s tangent for not letting him leave sooner, you swallowed your anxieties, peaking to make sure a car wasn’t outside. As inconspicuously as possible, you stood and went to grab your heels from Robin’s room.
Toeing quietly, you were hoping to go unnoticed, but Steve decided to be aware for one of the first times tonight. “Where are you going? You’re dressed up.”
Shrugging, you leaned against the wooden door, “Just out for the night, a friend is picking me up.”
A terrible liar, you thought of something that wasn’t completely fictional, however, they both could tell. The sight of headlights caught your attention, standing straighter, “Okay, bye!”
Robin rushed to the front door to stick her head out as you walked away, “Wrap it before you tap it!”
Embarrassment crawling up your neck, you flicked her off behind your back, opened the car door, and stepped in.
“What!” Steve gasped, startling Robin as she shut the door and who hadn’t expected him to follow her or hear him. Thankfully, the car had pulled away, leaving a confused man with a bit too much heat in his cheeks at his best friend to get some.
“I’m just kidding, Harrington. Don’t get your panties in a twist.” Robin snarled, shoulder-bumping him as she went back to her couch.
The date was fine, Devin was a kid you’d gone to school with since diapers. He had boyish features, cheeks a bit chubby with dimples, and was always polite. He had asked you to hang out a few days prior, agreeing on tonight.
Curls in your stomach that you attributed to nerves hadn’t vanished, even as you both mutually realized midway through your walk in the park that things were platonic.
Heat simmered within you, discarding your jacket and feeling beads of sweat trickle down the back of your neck. It wasn’t hot outside, even as you walked around and chatted.
“Are you okay? I don’t mean to sound rude, you don’t look well.” Devin questioned, a hand on your shoulder as your legs began to wobble.
Nausea flooded you before dissipating, wavering emotions as you tried to make sense of what was wrong.
Through the nerves, you kept thinking of Steve. How he would let his fingers trail against your lower back in hugs, kiss your head when leaving, and put his hand in front of your body when he hit the brakes too hard while driving.
“I don’t know.” You mumbled, feeling tears threaten through. As you made that statement, you felt the surge between your legs, knowing you had presented.
It couldn’t be happening now. Not with someone you didn’t know well. Not when you hadn’t been able to score a boyfriend first. Not now.
“I think I need to go home, I’m so sorry-” You began, huffing as streaks of mascara fell down your warm cheeks.
Assuring you it was okay, Devin drove you home, even stopping to get you a snack to make your stomach feel at ease. While it didn’t help, you appreciated the thoughtful gesture and thanked him as he waited for you to get securely in your apartment.
The space went from chilly to scorching, removing any amount of clothes you could besides a pair of boyshorts. Your mind raced with confusion as your nipples became hard, feeling a chill, but like a fire on ice.
Anxieties without category hit you, curling in a ball as you cried, sitting on your floor. It felt pathetic, but no stream of thought was strong enough to withstand the hormones.
Time slipped by as you tried regulating your breathing, applying slight pressure on your clothed core. A shrill ring came from your black phone, lifting the handle and pressing it to your ear.
“You were not supposed to answer!” Robin grumbled, already giving the heads up that she’d call to see if you were getting some, that no answer would be her answer. You had forgotten this rule, her tone making you bring in a fresh set of tears.
On the other end, Robin sat in her room with Steve walking in, not staying in the living room as she had asked. Her priorities were averted to the cry on the other side of the phone.
“Wait, what happened? Why are you crying? What happened with Devin?” Robin frantically questioned, Steve glancing over with furrowed brows as Robin had never stated who she was speaking with.
“Devin? From junior year math class? That was the friend?” Steve grimaced, toying with nicknacks in his friend’s bedroom, earning a finger on the lips to quiet him down.
“I presented,” You whispered, “I’m so scared and uncomfortable and overwhelmed! What alpha do you know, I don’t care who it is anymore.”
Though you would probably care later, the clouded judgment had you aching for any form of reprieve from the pain.
“Fuck, I don’t know!” Robin squeaked, not wanting to reveal your status to Steve for fear of your embarrassment, but she contemplated. The gears of her brain turned as she questioned his overprotectiveness, the way he was quick to frustration when discovering you were on a date.
“Don’t worry, I’ll figure something out, Y/N. I promise.” She concluded, hanging up and grabbing her yearbook.
The faces of former students made her ill, but word got around about presentations, and she hoped that seeing their faces would make her recollect.
“What the hell’s going on? Do I need to go fight Devin?” Steve eyed his friend, an unnerving worry in his stomach.
Biting her lip, she debated internally, “She needs help.”
“What is looking at that going to do?” Steve gawked, used to his friend’s antics, but still astounded when they acted erratically.
“I’m trying to remember who’s an alpha.”
“Why would you need to know who became an alpha-”
As the words left, his mouth ran dry, and he gulped while looking at Robin. She slowly looked up, watching the dark iris’ before her enlargen.
“Steve-” Robin began, the corner of a page between her two fingers.
The stern look on his face was withholding a multitude of emotions, ones she couldn’t quite make out. She made the judgment call that maybe Steve was your best bet.
“She’s at her place.”
That was all that needed to be said before Steve ran out her front door and into his car. He had driven your route a million times, but never this fast.
His blood pumped with nerves and excitement. He had spent his ruts alone, a fist full of himself with the occasional tears of frustration as he tried to alleviate his knot. But now you had presented as an omega.
Refraining from palming his crotch, he watched your streetlights come into view, throwing his car into park. The dark hallways were typically concerning, but your door was practically glowing within his mind.
He growled at the smell in the air, catching his attention more the closer he got. Gripping the door handle, it was unlocked, thankful no one else had noticed the compromising position.
Choking on his own breath, he fumbled with the lock behind him and trekked down the dim hallway. The protectiveness he already felt was consuming, his palms sweating as he made his way closer.
The door swung open too quickly as the handle slipped from his grasp, seeing you flinch from your curled position on the floor.
As if you were nothing, he lifted you from your armpits, making you stand in front of him. Eyes blazing, he looked pointedly as he undid his belt.
“Your door.” He stated, voice wavering with stability.
Furrowing your brows, you looked up at him, “What?”
His shirt was shrugged off, tossing it to the ground as your eyes drifted to his broad chest, whimpering at the sight to his delight.
“It was unlocked, don’t you ever fucking do that again.” He gritted pushing his jeans off, cupping your cheek with one hand and leaning forward so the back of your knees touched your bed.
His nose had skimmed against yours, breath fanning against your cheeks as you drank in every pheromone he perpetrated. Breath quickening, every thought coming to your head was vulgar, eyes softening in need.
“I won’t.” You whimpered, yelping as your back hit the wrinkled sheets, and his chest soon pressed against your bare one.
“I mean it, don’t ever do that again, you could’ve gotten hurt.” He gripped your chin in his grasp, looking down at you as your clothed centers touched.
The brief touch made you wail, your body suddenly aware of what was to come. Equally as impatient, he grabbed one side of your underwear and ripped it. Repeating the act on the opposing side, the shreds of fabric were now a relic of the you before this moment.
Palming himself, looking down at your frame as a predator and prey, he growled.
“How bad do you want it?” He egged on, ripping his own boxers off and onto the floor.
“Please, Steve, please.” You whined, watching as his cock bobbed. Blushing profusely pink, your mouth watered at it and your chest began to burn with greed.
He seemed far too composed, the performance of himself he was forced to obtain through most of his teen years floating to the top. However, his soft spot was you. It always had been and both of your fresh senses were sensing the discomfort in both of you.
“Alpha, please.”
That was all it took for his body to be pressed to yours and his lips to meet yours for the first time.
Grunts and gasps came from you both as the underside of his cock rubbed against your folds, too consumed with how he tasted and how you smelled.
“Keep that door locked, do you understand?” He gritted, fisting himself in his own grasp, his first thrust in synchronizing with your nod.
A pained cry rose from your lungs, tears already streaming down your cheeks, his lips kissing where the beads were.
Desperation reeked from you both as you grabbed at one another, needing any form of solidification that the other was there.
Steve found comfort in your warmth, trying his best to soothe your discomfort with affection. Kissing on your neck or rubbing your clit, the latter making you shriek from sensitivity.
“My omega now,” He sighed, balls reaching the curve of your ass as he settled against you, “my girl. Always have been.”
“Always yours, alpha, always Steve.” You trembled, the veins of his length stimulating every ridge within yourself. His brown hair crowned around his face, only able to see him in your state of need.
Though you were the one presenting, Steve felt the same wave of emotions he felt during his first rut, but now even more with another person. His person. The one who knew him since he had gaps in his front teeth, since he had graduated, and every minute moment before and after.
“Fuck, I love you.” He blurted out, feeling his own bashfulness creep up his neck.
To his relief, you began to be more overcome with emotion, agreeing. Each thrust hit your spongy spot inside you, convincing you more and more he was the only one who could make you feel this way.
“I love you too,” You revealed, locking his lips between yours briefly, “M’sorry I didn’t ask for you first, I was nervous.”
Your words were sweeter than honey, but the implication that someone else almost came to your aid burned him deeply. His hands pushed up your thighs, your knees coming up as he fucked you deeper than you could comprehend.
“Devin asked me out and I just wanted a boyfriend, but I didn’t want him, I swear-” You cried, unknowingly provoking more possessiveness.
“Honey, please, it’s okay.” He gritted, clenching sheets in his shaking hands, suppressing the urge to flick his hips quicker.
“I wanted you, alpha, please.” You sighed, stroking his cheek and hair, anywhere you could touch, “I’m so happy, I’m sorry, thank you-”
“Don’t worry, I would’ve found you anyway. You’re my girl, my omega.” He assured, gulping down the emotions he felt when you looked into his eyes.
His words appeared to have a larger effect than any physical reimbursement could do for you as your fingers clenched within his hair.
Your cry as you came made his hormones go into a flurry. He could feel your uneasiness being thrown into release. It was as if your chests opened in tandem, reaching out and moving in sync as he finished inside you.
White noise filled both of your ears as Steve’s body hovered over yours with much of his weight on top of you. Instinctively, you wrapped your arms around his chest, shoving your face against the crook of his neck.
Pumping himself within you until sensitivity took over, he gasped at how you clenched around him. His stature shook as he knotted, a hand going to your hip to keep in place, chest heaving to regain a steady tempo.
“Thank you.” You whimpered, hugging his chest closer to your front, an embrace he matched. Pressing a kiss on the side of your forehead, he trailed down to your ear with pecks and bites.
Rolling to his back, he pulled you to his chest, rubbing your back after you tried sitting up.
“Just relax, honey.” He cooed, the exhaustion already hitting you both, stilling your hips from causing you both more frustration in the compromising position.
“I want to make you knot again.” You whine beneath your breath, trying to sit up again, ignoring the pain shooting through your body at his swelling.
“Easy tiger,” He chuckles, biting his lip to stop his own need, “we’ve got time.”

“If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story.” ~Orson Welles
It was the most beautiful you had ever looked.
Shopping for a wedding dress was one of the most terrifying experiences you had ever lived through, and you had been shot multiple times.
But being surrounded by your closest friends and family members as you tried on dress after dress kept you going.
You finally found the perfect one in a small shop outside of the DC area, hidden in a little suburb where life wasn’t as rushed as it felt.
You tried on only three dresses at this little boutique. The second was almost perfect, and you were about to “say yes to the dress,” but someone was reorganizing the front rack, and that’s when the one you were currently wearing appeared, sent by the higher powers.
It fits you perfectly.
You started to cry when you saw yourself in the mirror, which caused Garcia to start crying, which caused Emily and JJ to cry, and the rest of your family quickly followed.
So it was only natural that staring at yourself in the mirror right now made you tear up again.
“Oh, Babe, no.” Emily was quick to fan your eyes as you tilted your head back, letting the tears melt back into your eyes.
“I can’t help it.” You grumbled, eyes wide as you tried calming your breathing slowly. “It’s just so pretty…”
“I know, I know. My money is on Derek crying first.”
“Oh, please. We all know Rossi won’t stop crying the second he takes his seat.”
You had decided that the only people you wanted at the ceremony were close friends and family. That meant the team, their little ones, and each of your parents. Small. Peaceful. Intimate.
Derek was over the moon when you asked him to officiate your wedding, wanting him to be there for you in every way since that’s always been his role.
You had taken him out for coffee under the very real guise that wedding planning made you want to rip your head off and chuck it out to sea.
“Okay, baby girl, talk to me.”
The ice was melting in the cup from the warmth of your hands, making your hands wet with the condensation, hiding the sweat from your nerves.
“Do you know how much flowers cost?”
Derek chuckled and shook his head. “No. I don’t think I do.”
“The government doesn’t pay me enough for the amount of flowers I want at my reception.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t have picked the Peabody Library as your reception location.”
“In my defense.” You furrowed your brows. “You were with us when we toured it. It’s perfect, Derek. Don’t tell me it’s not.”
“No, it’s perfect; I just don’t understand why you need that many flowers.”
“Sometimes, I feel like you don’t even know me, Derek Morgan.”
“He’s going to cry first.” Emily smiled, lightly dabbing under your eyes with some of your powder foundation to show that you weren’t almost crying.
“I will buy you a whole bottle of Möet that Rossi will cry first.”
As JJ entered the room, you and Emily shook hands, giggling like school girls. “Almost ready?”
You nodded, glancing over at yourself in the mirror.
Honestly, you had never thought this day would come. Your wedding day. After everything you had been through, all of the heartbreak, all of the confusion, all of the traveling and running away. Everything you could possibly think of going wrong just went wrong. Suddenly, the flowers weren’t delivered, and then no one showed up to the reception, and then you were left at the altar, abandoned and unloveable again. You couldn’t breathe; your chest was seizing. It was too tight. There wasn’t enough fresh air in the room. Your heartbeat was too loud, and you couldn’t look away from yourself in the mirror. This wasn’t real; Everything bad happening was in your head.
Or maybe it was an awful dream, and you need to wake up before it gets too far and your heart gets shattered again.
JJ whispered your name, reaching out for you, sending a shock of electricity through your arm when she touched it.
You jumped.
“I want to talk to him.” You blurted out, looking over at JJ. “I–I need to talk to him.”
“You said yes.”
You nodded, staring down at your wine glass, pondering if it was the right decision. Emily was wondering the same thing.
“I don’t know if it’s the best idea for you to go back to—”
“It is.” You cut her off, not harshly, just firmly. “I haven’t been the same since I left the BAU, and I left for perfectly valid reasons, Em, I know. But….”
“But?”
“But I miss it. Don’t you? It flexes my muscles in ways I couldn’t replicate, and I was so good at it. I felt smart and useful and not lost, wandering the islands of Greece.”
If you didn’t know her so well, Emily’s fake gasp could have easily been mistaken for a real one. “We had a fantastic time, and you know it.”
“Yes, but I also know that I was feeling so unfulfilled intellectually that I went off and got a Ph.D. Like, come on, I never wanted a PhD before I left; I just didn’t know how to challenge myself.”
“That is fair. I just think you need to consider the fact that you’d be working with you know who.”
“You can say his name, Emily. He’s not some dark lord; he’s just an idiot with an IQ of 187.”
“Yeah, Yeah, look. I have to go, but we are not done with this conversation, okay? I’ll need a full PowerPoint presentation with all the pros and the cons.”
“Yes, ma’am, I can do that. I’ll talk to you later. Love you.”
You heard the click of her line going dead before there was a knock on your door. You quickly pressed play on your movie, letting one of your favorite rom-coms (When Harry Met Sally) play in the background as you scrounged around for where you had left your wallet.
Clad in an oversized shirt you’ve had forever, plaid pajama shorts that were once part of a Christmas set, and your comfiest fuzzy socks, you slid over to the door once you had found your wallet.
You opened the door. “How much…”
His eyes met yours, and you took a small step back.
“You are not the pizza guy.”
“No. I’m not.”
His answer caused you to laugh a little bit, filling his chest with a warmth he hadn’t felt in over two years.
“Can I–” He gestured into your house, and you moved to the side, allowing him to enter.
“I, um….” You bit your lip and eyed him up and down. “As long as you’re okay with When Harry Met Sally playing in the background.”
“Time for the annual rewatch.” He smiled at you nervously, but a very small part of yourself enjoyed the fact that he remembered.
You headed back towards the couch, casually trying to clean up as you went to give the impression that you were cleaner than you were.
“Shoes off before you get to the couch.” You called over your shoulder.
The door closed behind Spencer with a soft click.
“Honey, you said you don’t want a first look.”
“We don’t have to look at each other—I don’t know, like a corner or something. I just..I-I-I.”
JJ watched as your panic started to bubble over, and she took your hands in hers. “Want to call him first?”
You nodded. “Y-Yeah, let’s try that.”
JJ handed you your phone off the vanity, watching as you dialed the number, panicking even more when it wouldn’t connect—there was no service.
Spencer had asked you to play chess with him that night, and you obliged. Something about falling into an old routine felt good; it felt right. A movie you chose in the background while playing chess against Spencer. Some things were always meant to be. The night was filled with laughs, small talk, and contentment–life feeling like it should.
A familiarity shrouded you both, mocking the comfort you once used to feel.
When you won, he was a bit baffled. You had only beaten him a few times, and he was focusing on all of the outcomes. How could he not notice—
“You can’t win every game, Spence.”
His heart lodged in his throat at the nickname, and he looked up at you, that goofy half smile on his lips.
Lovestruck. He looked lovestruck.
And then you exhaled. “We can’t avoid it forever. I know that’s why you came here in the first place.”
He blinked away the love, replacing it with guilt, hurt, fragments of something you both had grieved in your own time.
“Y-yeah. Let’s um, let’s talk about…”
You redialled the number only to be met with the same beeping as before, eyes wide as you looked at JJ. “There’s no service. JJ, I can’t–he won’t…”
Emily handed you her phone–it was ringing, thank god.
“Hey Emily, is everything okay?”
“It’s me.” You said simply, but the wobble in your voice said everything he needed to hear.
“oh–Honey, talk to me. What’s going on? What’s wrong?”
“I-I…” You swallowed your tears and looked over at your two friends—you gestured slightly, silently asking them to leave the room so you could talk to your future husband alone. They obliged, letting the door close. It was nice of them to pretend like they weren’t running over to see if they could eavesdrop from his room, but they were just met with Derek in the hall, who had also been booted out.
“Is she okay?”
Emily shook her head. “No idea. She was fine one moment, and she was about to burst the next. Like a complete shift of personality.”
Derek sighed. “I’ve never seen him switch so quickly either. He was all nervous one minute, but the second he heard her voice….he almost sounded like Hotch doing damage control.”
JJ laughed slightly at that, glancing back at the door hiding you behind it.
“Do you think she’ll go through with it?” Derek whispered slowly, making sure no one was around to hear him.
Emily fidgeted with the bracelet on her wrist. “She’s terrified he’s not going to.”
“Look, Spence, I get it. Shit happens. But you don’t know what it was like, coming home one day and you were laughing with someone else. You hadn’t laughed for months, almost a year, before then.”
“I know. I’m so–”
“Say sorry one more fucking time. Sorry isn’t explaining…or talking to me. I know you have trouble expressing whatever bullshit is going on in your head, but you have to try. It’s me, for fucks sake, Spence, And while I am willing to wait, I can only be so patient for so long with no actual explanation—”
“I was terrified of you.”
“What…”
Spencer stood up, pacing back and forth in front of your coffee table, trying to find the right words. “You were so far gone when Em died, and you had sunk into this pit of despair, and I was scared of watching you push down this path, destructive and–and; I didn’t know who you were, and I was so scared to watch you go down this path so I turned away instead.”
“Spencer, you ran to JJ. You just left me here, alone. And then, when she comes back, you fucking threaten the fact that you were having Dilaudid cravings?”
“I think he’s even more mortified that she will back out on him. He knows everything she’s gone through. I mean–I love her, but she’s got major commitment issues.”
JJ slapped his arm and glared at him. “And for good reason, Derek.”
Derek grumbled an ‘ow,’ rubbing at his arm. “I’m not saying it wasn’t justified–I completely side with her on it--I’m just pointing out what we already know.”
Spencer closed his eyes. “I don’t love you anymore.”
Your heart leaped into your throat, or maybe it was vomit, you weren’t sure, but all you could do was stare at him from across the kitchen countertop.
“Since this was my place first, uh…I can give you a couple of weeks to find a place, and I’ll even sleep on the couch…”
You hadn’t even spoken yet, shaking your head. “Stop. Spencer. What.”
Your head was pounding, hands gripping onto the counter to try and steady yourself.”
“Sorry.” He whispered. He couldn’t even look at you. He was just staring at his hands, almost unsure about what he was saying.
“Sorry?” You laughed, tears starting to track down your cheeks. “Spencer, this has to be a sick fucking joke..”
He shook his head.
Behind the door, You were just pacing back and forth, listening to his voice, trying to erase this memory from your mind and find a new one to replace it, barely listening to the man on the other end of the line.
“Hey, listen to me. It’s going to be okay. If you want to call the whole thing off, everyone will understand. If it’s not right—.”
“No.” You responded immediately. “I–I, I want to do this, I want to marry you…just…”
“You just needed some reassurance. I know.”
You nodded, not realizing he couldn’t hear you nod, but somehow, it felt like he did.
“I love you.”
You smiled, exhaling shakily. “Good.”
His laugh bubbled through his lips, causing you to take another breath.
“I’ll see you out there?”
“Can you just stay on the phone for another minute or so? I just need, like—”
You could hear him nod over the phone. “Anything you want.”
Somehow, you were back in that fucking elevator. Again.
But this time, it felt like a homecoming rather than a curse you were trying to break.
When the doors opened, you saw your family leaving little presents on your desk—flowers, balloons, chocolate, even cupcakes from your favorite bakery. They were all so busy setting it up that they didn’t notice as you walked up behind them, peering over their shoulders.
“Looks good, guys.”
“You think—” Derek did a double take and clutched his chest. “It’s supposed to be a surprise.”
You laughed and smiled at him, dropping your bag onto your chair. “It looks wonderful. You guys didn’t have to do anything for me–”
“Actually, we did. How could we not? I mean! She’s home! She’s back solving crimes in sexy-looking outfits!” Garcia wrapped her arm around your shoulders, resting her head on yours.
“I love it, guys, thank you.”
JJ briskly walked past you all, giving you a brief smile, almost running up the stairs and into Hotch’s office.
“Well, looks like you’re getting thrown right back into it.” Derek sighed.
Hotch came out of his office and smiled at you before nodding at the others. “Wheels up in forty, everyone. I’ll brief you all on the plane.”
“Good.”
“Just breathe y/n. Okay? I’ll be the one at the end of the altar with the incredibly well-tailored suit and those flowers you like so much pinned to my chest.”
“You’re gonna cry.” You whispered jokingly, taking in a deeper breath than before. “I look so good in this dress. I actually was crying about it before I made Emily call you.”
“It’s like you’re trying to kill me.”
Derek knocked on your door, leaning his ear up against it, trying to hear what you were saying. He called out your name, and after about a minute, you told him it was unlocked.
“Can I come in?”
“If you want Derek, it is entirely up to you.”
He opened the door, tears welling up the second he saw you.
Hearing him enter, you faced him, smiling softly at him.
All Derek could do was take you in for a second, unable to really think of what he was about to tell you. This felt a bit ridiculous since he was there when you picked out the dress, but watching you now, ready to actually wear it for its intended purpose, was a whole different ball game.
“You look…..”
“Right.” You whispered, walking over and squeezing his hand. “I’m ready. Let’s do this thing before shit goes south.”
______________________________________________________________
“Y/n, You are the love of my life, and I could give you an eternal list of every single moment of my life where I felt nothing but complete and utter adoration for you. But then last week, you picked the movie you thought we should watch: a nineties rom-com, obviously, with big romantic gestures and a heroine who doesn’t need to be tamed. And those two inspired me to give you instead a list of the ten things I hate about you.”
Spencer had gotten a good look at you for the first time in a long time. He had already felt guilty about the fact that he had Maeve and that you had broken up. But what he had failed to realize was the same thing Derek had–You were someone entirely different, a ghost of yourself. The guilt was gnawing through his stomach when he told Hotch what was going on, and he had begged Hotch to let you sit out, trying to save you from this, but clearly, Spencer couldn’t do anything right for you anymore. He hadn’t been able to in a very long time. Hotch had cleared his throat while Spencer shook his head. “I-I tried Hotch, I really didn’t want…”
He just nodded at Spencer. “I know, Reid, but you must have known there was no way this conversation would go any better than that.”
Reid just nodded and stood up, going out into the bullpen, not missing the way all of their eyes snapped to him as Penelope dumped her broken mug into the trash.
Before anyone could say anything, Hotch walked out of his office and looked at everyone. “As you all could have guessed, Agent Y/L/N will not be joining us on this case. I expect everyone in the conference room in ten.” with that, Hotch walked past Reid and down the stairs toward where he had assumed you had run off to.
Reid just returned to his desk, sitting and staring at your now empty desk. Hotch had fulfilled your request, letting you move across the bullpen so you didn’t have to sit next to him anymore.
Some part of the thought that you couldn’t even look at him anymore caused his gut to lurch, causing his hearing to burst for a moment. Maybe this was too fucked up. Perhaps he had been wrong. He thought he was doing the right thing by letting you go, not weighing you down with all his own bullshit, but he realized he had failed to pay attention.
Spencer thought long and hard, trying to piece together everything he had thought about in the past couple of months when it came to you, and that’s when he realized it was every day. He thought about you every day.
But he had ignored you. He had failed to notice as you crumbled to nothing in front of him.
“Number ten is that I hate the way you fold laundry. It’s incredible how you manage to fold every single item in a completely different manner. It baffles me. One of the great mysteries in this world that we might never have the answer to.”
“So you two spoke?”
You held up your finger as you finished the prosecco in your glass. Once you finished, casually, you picked up the bottle and poured yourself a second glass, only beginning to speak when the glass had been filled to your liking.
“He came over to my apartment, Derek. I had already opened the door, and what was I going to say—”
“How about no?”
“It’s rude to interrupt Derek Morgan.” Penelope elbowed him and took a sip from her own glass. “But he’s right, Y/n. You could have said no and slammed the door in his face.”
“But that’s not who I am. You know I’m a sucker for closure. You know I wanted to talk to him anyway. I just wasn’t expecting the discussion that ended up happening….”
Derek raised his eyebrows and tilted his head. “Do tell Princess.”
You shrugged and took another sip. “We talked about Maeve.”
The looks you received were exactly what you had expected, only because it was how you felt about the conversation.
“Number nine. I hate how you pick out what we will watch each week. You just skim through every single title on every platform until the one with the right ‘energy’ calls out to you. And they’re never the same. You manage to match a film to the night perfectly, and I hate how well you can pinpoint that about me.
“Eight. I hate the way you drive. You manage to be the safest and most dangerous person on the road. There’s nothing more to that one. You terrify me.”
“I cannot believe you, Spencer Reid. You have the audacity to come to my house, lose at chess, and then accuse me of being the reason our relationship ended!?”
“That’s not what I said.” His voice was desperate. “I’m not blaming anyone but myself, okay? I fucked up. I know I fucked up. I just—You were so–”
“I was so what, Spencer. What about me was just soooo fucking terrifying to you that you decided you didn’t want to propose to me anymore.”
“That’s not fair.”
Your jaw dropped. “You’re fucked in the head if you think the part that isn’t fair is me calling you out on that.”
Spencer paced around, running his hands through his hair. He was going to wear a path in your carpet the way he was pacing back and forth and back and forth and back and forth.
“Seven. I hate how captivating you are. Whenever you tell a story, there’s no use in getting any work done because all anyone can do is wait for the story to be finished. If there’s no ending–I’ve watched Morgan sulk at his desk until you returned from a meeting because you were running late and didn’t wrap up the end of the story for him. Something about the way you speak, the way you capture people’s attention, is one of the most dangerous weapons I’ve ever seen on the planet.
“I hate—oh, sorry–Number six.” He smiled at you and squeezed your head. You were shaking slightly as you rapidly blinked away tears, trying to inhale and exhale through your nose. It wasn’t working. Every word this man said made you one second closer to jumping onto him and kissing him senseless. “I hate how smart you are. It’s ridiculous. You can argue so beautifully and eloquently that it makes anyone arguing against you look like a fucking idiot. You speak four fucking languages, making you invincible and even more aggravating since you’ve decided to start learning a fifth one. You have started to beat me every other game in chess, which is actually humiliating for me, and I can’t figure out how you’re doing it. You read everything under the sun and still manage to have a life, friends, and family. I don’t know anyone in the world who could compare to your intellect.”
“Five. I hate how you steal my chocolate-covered pretzels. I bought you a whole fucking cabinet’s worth, and somehow, mine still got eaten.”
You watched him give you a bit of a stink eye for that one, causing you to kiss his hand lightly. “My apologies.”
“You don’t mean it, and you know it.” He grumbled, flipping his page so that he could keep reading.
“I hate how beautiful you are. It’s distracting. I can’t work near you anymore because all I want to do is daydream about you. I want to watch you smile for the rest of my life if I can help it.”
“Three. I hate how much you care. It terrifies me how much you care about other people. I have seen you at your best and your worst moments.” You squeezed his hand in reassurance. “I have seen the worst outcomes of cases we could ever imagine, or the best, and yet you put the same amount of effort and care into all of them. It’s infuriating because you put your life on the line constantly to be able to give people a chance, whether that be to save them from others or to save them from themselves. You are the most considerate person in the world, even to those who might not deserve it.”
This was not a good case.
It was never a ‘good case,’ but this one just sucked the absolute life out of you. You had been back for only a month, and it was going too well. You were on top of your game. You were better than ever—but you knew the other shoe would drop.
And it did.
You were never a big fan of getting shot at, but you would prefer that rather than have to escape a burning building. It was one of your biggest fears, and here it was, being realized.
You had managed to crawl down to the first floor before everything started to go black. He had sealed the windows. He had sprinkled broken glass along the stairs, causing you to rip open your legs and hands as you slid down the stairs. The more significant shards of glass shredding the back of your pants. It was fucking painful. But you had managed to make it to the kitchen.
That’s when you saw the firefighters bursting through doors, trying to contain the fire surrounding you. You could feel the burn on your skin as they pulled you out of the building, blood dripping down your legs and hands.
You must have been one fucked up sight for Hotch to drop everything he was doing and run over to you. But you wished he didn’t because the building behind you exploded. The flames must have hit the gas line, and the house came crashing down.
You were thrown back from the force, causing you to land on your back. Nothing was broken, nothing was sprained, but adding road rash and hearing loss to your ever-growing list of injuries was not fun.
Spencer and Hotch, who were shoved to the ground by the blast, scrambled over to you, where you were just lying on the ground, facing the sky, trying to breathe.
Maybe they were yelling your name or just trying to speak to you, but your head buzzed with the remnants of the explosion.
You watched as the sky above you filled with smoke and flickered with red hues. At some point, you saw Spencer come into your line of view. He was definitely mouthing your name.
Just then, like a wave crashing over you again, your hearing came back. Overwhelming could barely describe the feeling of shock running through your body. Your eyes widened as tears sprung to your eyes, your lungs gasping for air, and your mind flooded with adrenaline, with panic.
“Y/N. Hey. Listen to me. Hey.” Hotch had been trying to get you to sit up. He was going through his own internal panic attack—this scene was a little too close to NYC, to Kate.
Ambulance sirens blared, and you could hear a beam crash down and spur on the fire—” It hurts. So. Bad.” You finally managed to whisper, still gasping for air.
Reid wasn’t sure you were even registering that you were sobbing and that tears were racing down your cheeks.
“Can you sit up?”
“My hands.” You mumbled. “There-there was glass…so much…”
You flinched as Hotch yelled for a gurney.
“I need you to try and sit up, okay?” Spencer was next to you. He was on his hands and knees, slowly trying to gain your attention. There is a gentle touch on the arm here and a brush of your hair out of your eyes. He was just trying to give you peace, a breath amid everything going on.
“Spence.” You whined, flexing your hand, wincing when a tiny shard of glass shifted in your palm, causing even more pain.
“I know.” He said to you, gently taking your hand and wincing as he saw the microscopic shards scattered across your palm. “I need you to sit up for me.”
“Please don’t make me get up, Spence.” You whispered.
Hotch had moved away from the both of you, trying to clear a path so two EMTs could reach you.
“Once you sit up, I promise you won’t have to do anything else.”
You closed your eyes and let out a cry. It felt so relieving to just let whatever tension you had left in your body. But the thought of not doing anything sounded even better, so you slowly made your way to a sitting position, leaning against Spencer’s chest as he kissed your head and carefully ran his hand up and down your arm.
Spencer’s entire body relaxed into yours. He had never been more grateful that you could make it out of that building before…he didn’t want to think about what else would have happened. The two of you had just started talking again. You were hanging out. He would have never forgiven himself if he left things the way they were.
It felt wrong for him to be grateful at how much you got hurt because all of your limbs were still intact, and you were still conscious, still breathing. But he was thankful as he held you on the pavement, in the middle of the road, while everyone ran around you both.
You, on the other hand, were not happy to be sitting up. The adrenaline started to wear off, and your body was no longer buzzing. “Spence.” You whispered to him, trying to get his attention. You were nauseous, and the world was spinning. Everything was phasing in, and out of clarity, you could actually feel the earth rotating.
“Spence.” This time, it was said with more urgency. And it caught his attention. “I need to lie back down.”
“You can’t—”
“I’m gonna vomit.”
“Shit shit shit, okay, nausea is usually a sign of a concussion, a really bad one, most likely in the red zone—”
“Spencer, please.” You mumbled, closing your eyes and slumping against him, trying your best to hold down whatever you felt slowly creeping up your throat.
“I can’t let you lay back down.” He mumbled, turning you in his arms, prepping for whatever would come out.
Luckily for both of you, the two EMTs and Hotch had made it back over, bucket in hand, because Hotch had told them you most likely had a concussion. And god bless that stupid bucket because it managed to save some of your dignity by not throwing up all over the street. The EMTs had checked you out, flashing that stupid fucking light in your eyes, looking at your hands and doing their best to pull out some of the larger chunks of glass, and then helping to get you onto a gurney, and eventually into an ambulance to be shipped off to the nearest hospital.
Spencer was the only person you would allow to come with you in the ambulance.
“Two. I hate how well you know me and can read me like an open book. I have never met someone who knew me in the same way you could. You know things about me before I could even fathom the possibilities. You have been there for me in some of the darkest times of my life, and I would not have survived if it wasn’t for you. You picked me off the ground countless times, more than I could ever repay you for.”
“And last but not least. I hate how I can’t live without you. I hate that if you’re not in the same room as me, I can’t breathe. I hate how you manage to make my days filled with comfort, support, and love when sometimes I don’t deserve it. I hate when you go away to conferences, and I have to wake up to an empty bed, and the only thing that motivates me is the fact that I know you’ll text me as soon as you’re awake. I hate how you are the last person I want to see at night before I go to sleep. And I hate that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”
You were fully crying, tears tracking down your cheeks, as you squeezed his hand tightly. You laughed slightly, trying to wipe away one of the stray tears, but he beat you to it, using his thumb to wipe away your tears gently.
“Did you just quote When Harry Met Sally at me?”
He smiled cheekily, handing the paper back to Derek, who put it in his pocket. “What else would I be able to quote at you? It was playing that night…”
You shook your head, unable to stop the smile across your face. You heard him whisper, “I love you,” but it still made your heart ache.
“Okay, Doctor Reid. Work your magic.”
“You make it sound like I’m performing a spell or something. I’m literally just fixing your computer.”
You snorted and shrugged. “Isn’t it you who always said that physics and magic are basically the same thing.”
“Okay, yes, but—”
“And computer science is a science, right?”
Spencer just rolled his eyes, realizing he would not win this argument, and began to futz with your desktop.
It had crashed on you while you were in the middle of a report. At home. In your pajamas.
This was a practice that was familiar to Spencer. Whenever you were working on something that was not classified or very sensitive information, you had gotten special clearance from Hotch to bring it home. So Spencer has seen you write up preliminary profiles for cases around the country in nothing but your pajamas many times.
Except he hasn’t seen you in just pajama shorts and a tank top since, well.
He was supposed to be focusing on the desktop, and that is what he is going to do.
“I really appreciate you coming over at like 10 pm, Spence. I really do. I’m sure you were busy, so I really appreciate it.”
He shook his head and looked over his shoulder at you. “It was no trouble, really. Besides.” He turned back to the screen with a cheeky grin across his face. “I know how you get when something breaks.”
Your jaw dropped slightly, and you leaned against the kitchen counter. “Spencer. Are you…flirting with me…”
His face turned slightly red as he quickly faced the computer screen again. “And so what if I am,” he mumbled, focusing on the task at hand. He wasn’t sure how you managed to freeze your computer this badly, but he was determined to work it out.
You shrugged and checked your phone, looking at the text from Emily that you had chosen to ignore. Maybe she told you not to ask Spencer over. Maybe she had warned against moving too quickly with anything.
But you were a grown adult, you could make your own choices. You could—
“It’s, uh, it’s all fixed for you.” Spencer had stood up and was nervously fiddling with his hands. He hasn’t been like this towards you since you had both started dating over seven years ago.
You bit your lip and casually turned your phone on DnD.
“Thanks, Spence. I really appreciate it.”
He nodded, doing his best to stop eying you up and down.
The two of you stood there, unsure of how to continue on with one another.
The tension was thick, almost like a humidity in the air that covered your skin and ruined your hair, just by stepping into it.
Spencer eventually broke eye contact and wiped his hands on his pants. “Well, I’m going to uh…Have a good night.” He quickly grabbed his bag from the counter and shut the door behind him.
Your hands dragged down your face as you sighed and shook your head. Maybe it was for the best that you two just stayed friends. Maybe it was for the best that you two never were in a relationship again. You remembered what happened last time. Maybe you should just finish the report and go to bed. Or maybe you should run after him. It wouldn’t be that embarrassing, considering he was staring back at you, right?
Who said you didn’t deserve to make a bad decision every now and again.
You grabbed your keys and slid on your slippers, not even bothering to grab a coat. You opened the door and came face to face with an out-of-breath Spencer just about to knock on your door. You took one look at each other.
And that’s when he reached down and brought your lips to his.
Emily reached over and gently handed you your vows.
“Fuck fuck fuck.” You whispered, causing everyone around you to laugh softly at you, desperately trying to stop crying.
“I said I was going to try not to cry during his, and that obviously was not the case.” You slowly exhaled your lips, taking his hand and smiling up at him.
“Hey.” You whispered, causing him to whisper it back to you. “So–um. I wrote my vows a long time ago. Like, a while back. And I was looking for them and almost couldn’t find them. But I remembered that I had written them in that really small brown, leather journal thing that you got me for one of my birthdays that I kept losing because I always put it down and never remembered where.”
The small, collected group laughed together, watching you turn the page in that small brown leather journal.
“I didn’t know where I wanted to start when writing my vows. I knew how I wanted it to end, though. I’ve always known how I wanted my life to end and everything to go. So that’s what I did. I started at my endgame and worked my way backward. But shit happens, and life never goes according to plan. Never.”
He squeezed your hand.
Those weeks after were fucking brutal for you.
Relaxing was something you were never fantastic at, so having to take two weeks off to recover from your concussion, burns, cuts, and bruises was excruciating.
Maybe it would have been worse if a certain someone wasn’t basically living in your apartment with you, doing anything and everything to be there for you.
You woke up to freshly brewed coffee, sometimes breakfast if he wasn’t away on a case. Sometimes, he’d be home in time to make you both dinner. It felt oddly domestic for you, reminding you of before Maeve, before everything that had gone down over the phone.
Once the two weeks were over, he might have visited to check up on you. There would be nights where he would stay over just in case your head or back started to hurt again. It took more convincing for Spencer to let you go back to work than it did for your actual neurologist.
“Need I remind you I’m a doctor too, Spencer. I’m going back to work on Monday, meaning two over one, majority rules.”
Spencer scoffed and crossed his arms. “The lights will cause headaches, and staring at screens and files will only add to that. It’s a bad idea, y/n. Especially if we have to go somewhere, traveling across the country in a plane. You might as well knock yourself out because the air pressure would kill your head and ear drums.”
“Always the one for dramatics, aren’t we.”
Spencer rolled his eyes. “I’m not being dramatic. I just care about your well-being, apparently more than you do—”
“Spence.”
“What.”
You kissed him softly. Just to shut him up. There were no ulterior motives. None.
He hummed, hands sliding around your waist, keeping you close to him as you broke the kiss.
That was another development you were keeping under wraps. The two of you might have decided to give it another shot. It had been over a month since you rejoined the BAU, and even before you got severely injured, Spencer had been doing everything he could to apologize. Whether that be his apologies or through his actions, he was stepping up.
But both of you had yet to outright tell the others. Emily knew something was going on, especially when you showed up to work in the same outfit two days in a row, but she had assumed you had seen someone else, not your ex.
You didn’t mind, though, when he took such good care of you when he bought you fresh flowers every week, when he kissed you past the point of breathing when he would—
“What are you thinking about?” Spencer whispered, interrupting whatever spiral you had started.
“What book I should read next.”
“Liar.” He squeezed your sides, laughing softly and kissing you again.
“There’s not much I can say about how life doesn’t go as planned since everyone here with us understands and knows how quickly life changes. But I realized that I need to have you by my side regardless of how it changes. I don’t want to be back in a place where I’m not with you because it just didn’t make any sense.”
“My vows are short because I would never make it through them if they were any longer.”
This caused another ripple of laughter throughout your friends, giving your fiancé a moment to wipe away another stray tear on your cheek.
“All of this to say.” You cleared your throat, but it didn’t stop the tears from clouding your vision. “Shit. Give me a second.”
Emily gave you a tissue, which you used to wipe under your eyes. You shook your hands slightly, trying to calm yourself down and shake out the rest of the emotions so that you could at least finish saying your vows.
“Having begun to love you, I love you forever—in all changes, in all disgraces, because you are yourself.”
Spencer beamed joyfully, realizing you followed his same path, quoting something you knew the other loved.
And suddenly, the stars aligned. A soft breeze picked up, and the world was quiet.
Everything was alright. Everything was okay.
And for that beautiful, brief moment, you had everything you could have ever asked for, and there was nothing you would have changed, nothing in the whole world that was worth the love and happiness you felt in this moment, beaming at Spencer as you both said
I do.
“To love or have loved, that is enough. Ask nothing further. There is no other pearl to be found in the dark folds of life.” - Victor Hugo, Les Misérables

Day 16 of Kinktober: Finally Meeting Colby
Pairing: Colby Brock x fem!reader
Warning: protected sex, getting hickeys
A/N: sorry that i’ve been posting late I’ve been busy lately!
Tumblr media
Y/N’s POV
I’m been messaging a youtuber name Colby Brock for a year and I’m finally going to meet him at the Trap House. We met at Playlist Live last year and we’ve been chatting since then and facetiming each other and Colby showing me his roommates including some friends of youtube friends as well.
One day, I bought a plane ticket to go to LA so I can meet Colby in person, but I didn’t tell Colby about it because I want to make it a surprise. I text the Trap House guys without Colby in it and told them when I’m landing and where my luggage is at so they can meet me. When I landed I text them that I’m in Los Angeles, Elton, Corey, Devyn, and Jake came to pick me up from the airport and we made a plan because they said to the rest of the house that they’re going to Target, so we went to Target and got some stuff they needed and I got some stuff for myself.
“Let’s put your stuff in a separate bag so Colby will kinda figures out that you’re here.” Elton says getting a separate bag ready for me.
“Okay. Are you sure this’ll work?” I ask.
“Colby tells us what you eat by the facetiming you guys do.” Corey says.
“Okay.” I said. I hope this works.
When we got to the house I get nervous, Devyn notices and tries to calm me down, I can’t believe I’m meeting Colby since we saw each other last year.
“Alright, Devyn, stay with Y/N and Corey text Devyn when it’s time for you two to go in.” Elton says with a camera on and has the Target bags in his other hand.
“Alright, you ready Y/N?” Corey asks.
“I am but still nervous.” I say.
“I’ll be here with you okay?” Devyn says rubbing her hand against on my back.
I nod. I’m ready.
Elton, Corey, and Jake goes in and Devyn and I were talking quietly so no one inside can hear us. Corey texts Devyn, it’s time to see him. Devyn takes my things and opens the door for me, the house looks so cool in real life. Colby walks out, his face looks confused but excited at the same time, I run towards him and runs towards me, we hug so tightly, I can’t believe I’m here with him.
“I can’t believe it’s you! I thought you have school today?” Colby stops hugging me and says.
“I lied, I had a flight to come here and Elton, Corey, Jake, and Devyn helped me.” I say.
“I knew it! I saw the bag of things that you eat, I knew there was something going on!” Colby says looking at the guys.
I laugh.
I get settled in the house in Colby’s room and I felt tired so I took a nap. After the nap, everyone and I went to Dave & Buster’s, Colby and I went around to other games so we can talk to each other privately.
“I still can’t believe you’re here.” Colby says while we’re walking to a game.
“I can’t believe it either.” I say following him.
“You wanna get in the photo booth?” Colby asked.
“Sure.” I smile.
We go to the photo booth and we take pictures, like us smiling, kissing, and some of the trap house boys came in and photobombed us. The pictures came out great! I send a picture of the four pictures of Colby, the roommates, and I to my parents so they can tell that Colby is real including the roommates as well. My parents believe me!
A FEW DAYS LATER
Colby and I have been talking about our personal lives for a while now and we began to kiss each other sometimes, but we’re not ready to go too far.
“You still tired?” Colby asks me.
“I am, it’s just the time zones, you know.” I tiredly say.
“I get what you’re saying Y/N/N.” He says.
Eventually, Colby introduced me to some of his youtube friends like, Brennen Taylor, which he’s kinda nice but he makes me uncomfortable.
Colby and I went on some dinner dates and some of his fans were nice but really rude at the same time. We went to some haunted places in Los Angeles as well which I really enjoy haunted places and anytime I get scared I would hold on to Colby and he would understand what I’m doing so he would hold on to me as well.
One night, Colby and I were alone, everyone went out to do a video or something but Colby and I stayed back. Colby was really touchy this night. All you can hear is me giggling by him touching me, and we start to kiss. I haven’t been kissed before so this felt special to me. Colby and I made out for a few minutes until we began to take our clothes off and Colby getting a condom for protection. He goes in and out of me and us moaning at the same time. He gives me hickeys, I moan even louder, I don’t want him to stop.
We continue our session until Colby’s door opens and it’s Sam looking horrified and Colby covers us, I look embarrassed. I hide my face in Colby’s chest, I never felt embarrassed in my life. Sam runs out of Colby’s room and Colby and I look at each other and chuckle.
“We’ll go somewhere special next time I promise.” Colby gets a strand of hair out my face.
“I’d like that.” I smile.
I’m so happy I’m with him but I hope we do something else then what we just did.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
“pssst—so you’re coming, right?”
the sudden interruption to your note taking makes you jump slightly, raising your head to lock eyes with itadori who is so obviously turned round in his seat to lean across your desk, and you can tell by the stupidly cute pout on his lips that he thinks he’s being quiet.
“coming where?” you hum, you know he’s talking about the frat party on friday — it’s all anybody had been talking about all week. your college football team have a game on friday that you know they’ll win and then the whole school will celebrate at the frat, it was tradition at this point.
but you still feign ignorance because you haven’t had enough time to come up with an excuse to not go yet.
“to the party! you’ll come right, please? it’s not fun if you’re not there, you said you’d cheer for me at the game too.” yuuji replies, enthusiastically and the whispers that he seems to think are leaving his lips are only growing louder with each word.
“i don’t know.. i might be busy.” you grumble, trying so hard to avoid his bright gaze while you scribble down whatever comes to mind — a whole load of stuff that doesn’t make sense while you think of a real excuse because you know that won’t cut it.
“hey, come onnn. you’re lying.” yuuji whines, playfully shuffling at your paper so you’ll look up at him and you regret it immediately when you notice the way his lips are jutted out, in addition to the wide eyes he’s sending you so shamelessly — is he really using puppy dog eyes to get you to go to a frat party?
“please! you can come with me and fushiguro, we can go together—“
“itadori! are you even listening?” your teacher finally hisses, narrowing their eyes at the back of the class which unfortunately includes you also.
“sorry, sensei~” yuuji calls back, but he turns round to pout at you again before he faces forward. “you gotta come okay.”
but unfortunately, like most of the school, you had a soft spot for the quarterback— he was different from the usual douchebags you would expect, the ones in the movies who break hearts and have you swearing to never love again.
itadori yuuji wasn’t like that. he was athletic, your typical jock with rippling muscles and a varsity jacket, bubbly, goofy and in shape. he didn’t do great in studies but he tried and with what he lacked in general knowledge he made up for with spirit.
he knew every one of his classmates by name and stood up for them against bullies (even the ones on his team), he was charming in a sense — like when he’d get flustered after confidently answering a question wrong or when he’d make playful jokes with your teacher back and forth, there was a natural charm to him that made you want to know him.
and you did, you don’t know how it happened — his seat was right infront of yours in class, he’d made a habit of collecting papers for two whenever it came to handouts and if he was ever having trouble with a question, he’d much sooner turn round to ask you than stay behind. you wouldn’t call you guys best friends by any means but what you had felt nice, you walked with him to practice on wednesdays because you went that way home and he invited you to games — always shooting you a bright sort of grin through his helmet whenever he noticed you in the stands.
which makes it even harder to avoid him even after class, because it is unfortunately a wednesday and you’re standing at your desk, packing your things away while said quarterback rambles to you about all the reasons you should come to the party on saturday. his pleas don’t even falter when he’s expectantly grabbing your bag from you and slinging it over the shoulder opposite his own as you both leave, making your way down the hallway that’s now mostly clear from students despite a few stragglers.
“i was being serious, you can come with me and fushiguro! he hates parties but even he’s coming.” yuuji smiles in earnest, you’re honestly surprised that he’s even convinced fushiguro to go — him hating parties was definitely true but you’re pretty sure hes had to deal with the exact same loveable jock that you are right now, so you also can’t really blame him for giving in — most likely just so he’d stop going on about it.
“i don’t want people to think i’m following you both around.” you argue, but there’s no real annoyance to your tone when you nudge into his side — trying and failing to playfully knock his well trained body even a little off balance.
“they won’t think that cause we’re friends, right? it’ll be fun. even gojo and geto will be there and you know them too. i want you to come.” the blushy haired jock next to you grumbles and there’s a real honesty in his tone despite it being spoken through a smile.
although you find yourself mentally cursing the warmth that blooms along your skin when you finally turn to look at him, painted in a warm hue by the swirls of amber in the sky and you feel yourself soften when you realise that yuuji’s eyes were already on you.
but any tension pooling in your mind is quickly broken with a hopeful grin followed by a see you tomorrow and a pat on your shoulder, watching yuuji hand you your bag before he runs to practice and you can’t help the exasperated sigh that falls from your lips when the silence finally settles after he’s gone.
you’re aware your soft spot for the quarterback was probably just as much of a curse as it was a blessing, because now, that same bright grin is staring back at you while you stand in the kitchen during the very frat party that you were trying to avoid — just because itadori had insisted through the remaining days before that he wouldn’t have any fun if you didn’t come.
the atmosphere at the party is as you expected, there’s students littered around the fraternity — an ocean of red cups and gossip, places like this were breeding grounds for rumours and drama.
but you’re with itadori and megumi so you don’t really care, leaning against the kitchen counter and too preoccupied with yuuji’s enthuastic rant about the game while the bass thumps through the walls. but his eyes are on you and his gaze is just as warm as the humid air around you.
although just before he can ask you if you were cheering for him like he was hoping you were, he’s interrupted by a familiar drawl.
“oh? you really came.” you hear a smooth tone echo from behind you, the ragged sound pulling you from your hazed mind before it’s followed by an arm being hooked over your shoulder and you’re being pulled against a hard chest.
“so itadori really convinced you, huh.” satoru hums from where he’s got both you and megumi in some form of makeshift hug, although it feels more like a chokehold given his stature and the way you’re both swaying to look up at him.
“quit it, satoru.” geto sounds from behind him, sighing before hes shifting to stand next to him to send you all a kind-hearted sort of grin - one thats vaguely different from the menacing one on his white-haired counterparts lips, who chooses to ignore his interruption.
“you guys are just in time, we need you for the game. you’re in, right?” satoru goads, but you notice that the smirk on his lips is a lot more devilish than the ones you’ve seen before. even when you make a curious sound, you can see the way his crystalline eyes reflect amusement when he looks at you. he was always one for joking around, more times than not he had you laughing — mostly at him, but his words felt different this time.
you’re not surprised when you watch itadori send him a starry-eyed glance, but theres a certain thickness in the air that you’re pretty sure goes completely over the loveable jock’s head when the next thing you know, the three of you find yourself squished together on an old worn couch in the living room.
satoru’s situated himself in the middle of the room, like a sort of game-master you guess you’d call him — expected considering he was one of the oldest in the frat, listening to him list out the rules to a game that you’re more than familiar with, and now you understand the sort of amusement that was present in his smirk earlier.
you should’ve known you’d made a mistake as soon as your eyes met his and the soft light was glinting off the playfulness in his gaze, ending up with you being roped into going first — which surprisingly seemed to pull an almost uncomfortable shuffle from itadori at your side as his thigh bumps yours.
“hey, you okay?” yuuji smiles, his voice low and barely audible but he knows that you hear him — his attention taken with you so casually when your face twists to meet him at the sound, but his question is appreciated and heartfelt.
you nod when you look at him and he blinks quickly at the sudden close proximity before you’re turning to face the room again with a sigh.
but itadori’s gaze is still on you while satoru’s giving you a hooded look thats entirely too perceptive for your liking, a smirk curling at his lips as his brows arch from over his glasses and he’s spinning the empty beer bottle that’s lying in the middle of the floor with a quick twist of his wrist.
you were fine atleast, until that same bottle lands on a man who has bile turning in your stomach when he shoots you a smirk that’s thick with desire, dark and expectant. you didn’t know him, but you knew of him and he was the kind of person who you’d rather smack than be locked in a closet with, especially alone.
he was a playboy and a loser, you’d only ever seen him trailing behind satoru and itadori — kissing their ass and sucking up to the rest of the team, or drooling all over women who definitely did not want him. he was a sleaze and a douchebag, and before he even has the chance to move you’re already curling back against the couch.
“not happening.” you hiss, fingers squeezing against your thighs when you narrow your eyes at satoru, and you watch him raise a brow at you before he’s rising to his feet.
“you agreed to the game, princess.” the white-haired male shrugs, although you can even see the sorry distaste on his features when he notices the hungry grin on the other bastards. but just as your mouth opens to protest a second time, you feel a strong arm wrap around your middle before you’re pulled to your feet.
“i’ll do it, gojo-senpai.” yuuji grunts from beside you, curling his arm around you to press you protectively against his chest and there’s a burning hot rush of blood under your skin where his thick fingers grip at the dip of your waist. “there isn’t a rule against it, right?”
the frown on his face seems almost unnatural when you tilt your head back further to look at him, unfamiliar given the smile you were normally used to, but when you feel his hands squeeze at your restless figure you still can’t help but feel safe. you watch the gears turning in satoru’s mind at yuuji’s outburst though, shooting a glance at suguru from over his shoulder before his dark haired friend shrugs and he’s sighing with a click of his tongue, failing to hide the soft smirk of amusement that’s twitching at the corners of his lips.
“i’ll allow it, yuuji-kun. just you kids behave, yeah?” he drawls and you hadn’t realised your heart was racing until those words leave gojo’s lips and you’re squeezing yourself closer into your.. saviour of sorts, before you’re both ushered down the hall and thrown into a darkened-closet by the same white-haired upperclassman.
but you don’t fail to notice that itadori’s arm never left your figure, even as you strolled down the halls or when you both crowded into the equally small closet — it feeling even smaller giving his broad physique, even now his fingers on your waist were still present and grounding— a feeling you could quickly find yourself yearning for.
“i’m sorry you got roped into this.” you speak first into the shadowy darkness of the small space, the soft light glinting prettily off of yuuji’s eyes when he meets your gaze, and you know you probably look as awkward as you feel when your fingers trace along the lettering on his varsity jacket. but he still grins before he squeezes your waist — like a sort of reassuring touch, like he knows you need it.
“hey! i volunteered you know, and well i was kinda hoping it would be me anyway.. but that guy really sucks.” yuuji’s grinning, a little flushed in the face but you put it down to the stuffiness of the closet rather than anything else when you blink up at him. but you watch him scratch at the back of his neck with another grin when his words finally sink in and you're casting him a wide-eyed glance.
“what did you say?” you reply quickly, something unfamiliar curling down your spine as your hands twist nervously in the fabric of his shirt — fingertips grazing the sharply carved planes of muscle underneath and part of you wants to explore more at the first, almost intimate touch.
“huh? that guy sucks. he’s really mean to girls and it’s always made me mad, even gojo-senpai doesn’t like hi—“ yuuji taps at his chin, his eyes never leaving yours before you cut him off again.
“no before that.” you gape, feeling your fingertips against his chest again when he hums and thinks back to a few moments ago before he’s smiling again.
“oh! i was kinda hoping it would be me anyway.” he grins in earnest, his tone never once faltering and there’s a sincerity to the way he pats down the curve of your spine. “why?” you swallow, and the atmosphere in the closet suddenly feels stuffy with the question.
“because i like you.” itadori answers, voice unwavering, again, and you don’t know if the tingling in your skin is embarrassment or desire when you flutter your eyes back up to meet his and notice the sudden heaviness that stares back.
he doesn’t look nervous at first glance but his hand almost trembles along your back when you press closer against his front, feeling the way his heart is pounding against your palm as his broad chest expands with every exhale he takes, and if you looked closely you’d be able to make out the slight dusting of pink on his ears underneath the soft curl of his hair.
“yuuji, um—“ you start, laughing quietly in disbelief and you watch itadori’s eyes glance down at your lips before he’s swallowing dryly and hugging you closer, “i mean like really like, that’s why i like seeing you cheer for me at games and that’s why i asked you to wear my jacket, even though you said no..”
the last few words of his sentence are said through a pout but when you find yourself patting at his chest at his confession, you watch an earnest, bright grin curl at his lips before he’s sending you a vulnerable sort of look that’s is so handsomely unfair.
“i—just didn’t think of it like that.” you breath, a whispery sort of tone to your voice and you watch itadori’s eyes jump over your features before you hear him gulp and take a nervous breath. but a hardened look of determination comes over him as his cheeks flush deeper, and his fingers twitch against your skin when your hand comes up to rest against his cheek — encouraging him to lean closer.
“would you take it now?” he asks, words almost an exhale across your lips and you don’t realise just how close you’ve become, until you feel itadori’s heart kicking against his impressive chest under your palm. “yes.” you answer quickly, and the closet suddenly feels stuffier when his wide eyes jump from yours to your lips before he’s grazing them with his own.
he’s a little distracted once he sees just how pretty you are up close, so you decide to take matters into your own hands when you twist your hands into the fabric of his shirt — pulling him in for a kiss that feels natural despite how he stiffens at first.
but when itadori feels the way your lips press against his, it’s like something dangerous snaps in his self control and suddenly your body is thumping against the wood of the wall, his hands gripping tightly at your hips as he licks messily into your mouth, drinking you up and groaning at the first, wet glide of your tongue along his.
you curl your arms around his neck as you croak his name, noticing the way his eyes are screwed shut as he pins you to the hard wood behind you, feeling you wiggle against him and he groans before his warmth leaves you.
itadori is breathing hard when he pulls away suddenly, pupils blown wide as they scan over your features with parted lips and desperate pants. “fuck, i’m sorry, is—is this okay?” he gasps and you’ve never answered faster than when you rasp out a yes, kissing him fiercely as he grinds against you — large palms roaming along the new dips of your figure he’s yet to explore until you’re mewling against his panting mouth and hitching your leg around his waist.
“can i touch you? p-please..” it’s messy, rushed the question as you feel him smear spit along your chin as his mouth moves, but he doesn’t pull away — if he had a choice, he never would given how breathless and eager he feels.
“please, yuuji! i want you.” itadori feels blood rush to his thick cock at the breathless plea, his dark jeans suddenly feeling tighter as his arms leave you — in favour of almost tearing off his varsity jacket to throw it on the floor, and you feel your world shift suddenly when your back is pressing against the thick fabric after as you both hit the ground.
“needed you s-so bad, for you so long.” he purrs, voice cracking under the heavy weight of his desire and arousal as his big body pushes its way between your thighs, and you feel dizzy when you melt under the weight of him, letting him rut desperately into you like an animal.
he’s absolutely enamoured by you, panting as he smears kisses along your jawline — sucking at your neck as his hips rub and grind into yours, groaning when he feels you grab at his broad shoulders with each press of his lips.
you feel one of itadori’s rough, strong palms stroke down your thighs — pushing your skirt around your waist as he continues to press kisses along your skin, igniting your nerves along the way as you twist, looking down to meet his wild eyes as he crawls down your body — pushing your shirt up to suckle pink, blooming marks against the skin.
“you’re s-so pretty, ‘s this okay? want you, fuck.” there’s a carnal drop in his tone, a low lull and you feel the sound vibrate against your skin before he’s pulling away with a wet pop — trembling hands moving to quickly pull down your panties only when he hears you gasp out another yes, followed by a tentative swipe of his fingers along your already embarrassingly slick pussy.
itadori smears kisses down your hips, spit coating your thighs before he’s lifting your weak legs over his shoulders — panting like a dog when he gets his first glimpse of your pretty pussy and he lets out a wrecked groan, low and long before he’s immediately shoving his face between your thighs, taking a long taste of your cunt.
your back arches at the sudden stimulation when you feel his tongue flatten against your clit, but it only takes a few seconds before his muscled forearms are keeping you pinned beneath his huge body, your hips twitching as you cry out for him — grabbing at the blush strands of his hair before your thighs and lungs tremble on your next inhale.
everything about how he eats you out is messy and itadori feels lost in his own pleasure as he loses himself in your addictive cunt, the taste feels like fucking heaven on his tongue and he moans; ragged and hungry when his hips instinctively rut into the carpet below him, the sudden stimulation on his heavy, leaking cock causing a pleasured vibration to rumble through your clit.
every swipe of his tongue feels like it sends bliss racing through you, arousal pooling dangerously in your stomach as your eyes prick with pleasured tears — his pace never eases and you feel like you can barely breathe as he showers you in strong licks, panting warm along your glistening folds when he pulls away to admire the way your slick shines when it’s mixed with his spit.
it’s embarrassing how quickly you feel your orgasm, the sight of itadori’s huge frame humping the floor between your thighs as he loses himself in your taste only making it approach faster. you feel his nose knock against your clit as he smacks lewdly, feeling your warm walls flex around his thick tongue when he dips it past your fluttering hole. he’s panting and fucked out, and you’re pretty sure the lower half of his face and cheeks are soaked as you feel your arousal pool onto his jacket below you.
he feels so fucking good, and you feel lost in a dizzy dream when you meet his heavy gaze once more, watching the muscles of his back move through the tight fabric of his white shirt — you would never have thought that your college’s loveable quarterback ate pussy like it was his first meal in days, but you think the realisation might just make you like him even more when you feel his lips close around your clit to suckle lightly.
you feel something dangerous spark along your nerves when his huge palms rock you against his mouth, reducing you to pretty pants and babbles of his name before he’s pulling away with a long whine that makes it sound like it physically hurt him to pull away from you.
“p-please—don’t cum yet, can you make you feel even better—fuck, i gotta feel your pussy ‘round me, baby.” itadori moans, voice tight with need as he rips his belts and pants open — messily tossing them down his thighs until he’s groaning at the sudden freedom from the loss of the restrictive fabric.
even in the darkness of the old closet you can see the thick curve of him in his boxers, he’s huge and you can almost see the way it twitches with carnal need — not that your surprised with how impressive he is. but it only makes your mouth water when you watch him pull down the final layers of fabric between you, the throbbing, silky curve of his cock grazing along your thighs as he looms over you with a growl, letting his cock drag through the messy, glistening folds of your cunt.
“do you think you can take it, baby? i know you’re gonna take it s-so well. oh so fuckin’ good.” itadori chokes, wide eyes meeting yours and your lips part to sound out a sweet uh-huh when his swollen head catches under the hood of your clit, your legs squeezing around him impatiently before he’s breathing hard through clenched teeth and reaching down to grip around the base.
your mouth drops open to moan when you feel him rub against your clit, hips twitching up wildly and needy as you chase the stimulation and he feels so fucking dizzy at the way you moan for him — shameless and uncut and he’s all but forgotten you’re both about to fuck on his varsity jacket, that’s spread out on the floor of some gross frat closet.
the next swipe of his cock through your folds presses it against your twitching hole and itadori tries so hard to keep his eyes on you through the pleasure when he finally sinks in. but you’re so fucking warm and tight, and the way your fisting at his shirt makes an almost animalistic growl vibrate through his chest as you twitch at the thick spread and he’s pulling you in for a sweet kiss — a contrast to the way he’s bullying his cock into your tight cunt.
“too big, yuuji—ah!” you moan brokenly against his lips and itadori can’t help the pride that swells in his chest as his eyes flutter, his grip dragging you across the floor as he pushes himself deeper into the desperate hug of your walls, shushing you as his teeth drag along your bottom lip.
“but you take me so well, baby—fuck, feel so good. you’re doing s-soo good.” he growls and groans like a man possessed with a slow, wet withdrawal of his cock, rolling it back into you a little each time as your pussy squelches lewdly and his hips press tight against your hips with another mewl.
you can barely breathe with how deep it feels like itadori reaches, the pleasurable sting making the room below you spin before you’re caught off guard with the first harsh smack of his hips between your thighs — the sudden quick pace fitting for someone with such an athletic prowess as you dig your nails into his broad back just to keep yourself grounded.
every wet withdrawal of his hips is so fucking loud and each deep thrust of his cock feels like it reaches even deeper as you a moan of his name kicks from your throat, your desperate attempts at keeping quiet being fucked out of your mind with the way your body is crumbling under each of his thrusts, your orgasm already so close as you hear him babble, wet against your cheek.
“never wanna stop..hnnn, you feel so good. need—shit, need more, wanna feel you, baby.” itadori growls against your skin, and you can hear all his need and want for you in the way he moans your name with each exhale — grabbing at your body like he’s afraid you’ll disappear as he splits you open beneath him.
his eyes are hooded when he looks at you, pink hair smeared along the thin sheen of sweat on his forehead as he presses deep into your body — blunt head of his thick cock pressing against the swollen spots inside of you and all you can do is take it. your voice bounces of the walls of the small, darkened closet as you pant and lilt your head back — clawing red marks down the ivory skin on itadori’s back.
it’s almost inhumane the way his quick, intense pace grows heavier — your body jolting beneath him as he digs his cock up inside of your pussy, the bruising grip he has on your hips being the only thing keeping you underneath him or else you would’ve bounced rignt off with each heavy, wet connection of his hips — driven by the brute strength in his muscled body.
your orgasm hits you suddenly, so hard and good that it almost hurts and your toes curl as your fingers move to grab at itadori’s hair, trembling and clawing at his biceps with the other as you cream around his cock. but he doesn’t stop, not when you’re panting and gasping with each shockwave of bliss below him — the vibration of his groans echoing somewhere deep in his chest as his cock thickens inside of your soaked cunt.
“please, baby—lemme give y-you my cum, will look so good. let me, baby.. fuck, gotta hear you say it.” he slurs and you hiccup before you’re moaning out another needy yes, tightening your thighs around his waist in the hopes it’ll keep him trapped inside.
but itadori’s pace stutters at the first too tight, milking compression of your walls, gritting his teeth with a surprised grunt when his jaw clenches and his eyes watch more cream pool around the base of his thick cock, your walls throbbing with every unforgiving push of his hips.
then he looks at you as he cums thick and heavy inside of you with a long, agonised groan, you’re underneath him and fuck—you’re so pretty. his classmate who sits behind him in class and who he walks to practice with on wednesdays — who cheers for him at games and looks so fucking ethereal when they’re cumming around his cock, he’d fucking dreamed of a moment like this.
it’s addictive, you’re addictive, itadori thinks when he pushes his thick load into your tight cunt, babbling out curses and praises as they curl down your skin while he pins you completely. his primitive instincts take over as he continues to fuck into your messy, sensitive pussy until you’re both spent and a mixture of your cum is smeared along your thighs, only following it with a few shallow thrusts to accommodate the thick rush of cum he unloads inside of your puffy walls.
“baby, you with me? does it hurt?” you finally hear him mumble against your cheek, pressing his lips to the skin after as he kisses you back to him, back to where he’s got you pinned to the closet floor while his fingers massage at the probably soon to be bruises on your hips.
you blink slow, hazy before you’re looking up at where itadori is still looming over you, he’s flushing deep as he catches his breath but he’s still quick to scoop you up into his chest — making sure he’s not hurt you as he looks at you with a pouty, sleepy expression.
“yuuji.” you whisper, throat dry and raspy but you watch him smile as he holds you delicately, a hard contrast to his rough grip a few moments ago as he gives you puppy dog eyes.
“you’re alive, baby! you scared me, did i hurt you? you’re okay?” he asks again and there’s a tenderness to his words when they’re not spoken through his usual bright grin. but you look at him again before you’re smiling and snuggling into his strong shoulder.
“i’m okay, it was so good.” you sigh, shaking slightly when itadori pulls you to stand with him — supporting the trembling of your thighs with a strong arm around your waist before he’s grimacing as he picks up his jacket, sending you another cute pout before you’re both laughing at the cum and other fluids that’s soaked into the fabric.
“awww, does that mean you won’t wear it, baby?” yuuji whines, and you smile again before you let him curl you against his chest — pulling you in for a kiss that’s slow, but still a little messy as he presses you close and you let yourself pull him even closer for a moment, not ready for it to be over yet as you wind your arms around his neck.
he squeezes you to pull away, only to help you clumsily smooth down your clothes, making you both look semi-presentable. “does this mean you’ll go on a date with me?” he grins and you scratch your fingers through his still slightly damp hair as his hands smooth along your sides and he tilts his head at you.
“first you gotta clean your jacket so i can finally wear it.” you reply quickly and the sound seems to make itadori’s smile stretch even wider, but just as he leans in again, your lips parting when his brush against them —the door of the closet is abruptly torn open.
“there you are, yuuji-kun! how was the confession?” satoru drawls but his hazy eyes reflect an unfiltered, knowing sort of amusement when they look over your disheveled appearances. but it’s just as charming as it always is when you watch itadori flock to the older student, big warm hands resting on your hips to keep you wrapped up in him.
you listen to them ramble, trying to ignore the teasing gaze of both gojo and geto as they drawl and hum their words — wigging their brows at you when itadori tells them ( while missing a few details ) about how he needs to wash his jacket before you wear it. but your attention is quickly stolen from a certain dark haired, disgusted looking fushiguro from where he appears next to itadori.
“you’re both gross.”

the hallway between classes were so full. crowded by students walking in eight cardinal directions. your head felt dizzy, it's like you're seeing everything underwater. your steps came to a halt when you were met with a row of lockers. palm against the cold metal as you gain back your stability.
peter must've seen you from the other side of the hall. frowning as he took in your state.
he walked over to you, cautiously. "you okay?"
you looked up to meet his eyes, immediately closing them back when the ceiling light hit your vision. "not feeling well."
peter placed his left palm over your cheek, rubbing them softly to soothe you. he didn't know if it helped but he smiled nevertheless when you nuzzled your face further into his hand.
you wanted peter to give you a hug, maybe his shoulder can be a good resting spot for your heavy head and his warmth can relax your muscles.
and of course. peter did. without you even asking.
"wanna go to the infirmary?" he asked softly, rubbing the side of your head as you completely lose all energy, so now he's the one that held you standing.
"mmh," you replied, not having the energy to form real words.
"alright then let's go," peter started to pull away but stopped midway when he felt you struggling.
"pete, i'm sorry i can't, i have to lay down," you whispered. so soft and low. if he weren't that close to you, he wouldn't hear it.
"that's alright, just slow steps," he encouraged.
he missed his class but he didn't care. he just wanted to be there with you. showing his affection because of his new slash old found love he has for you.
your migraine has not subsided at all the following day. you decided, for good, to skip class. there's no point in going to school when you're sick anyway right? you'll have ended up in a worse condition by the end of the day.
peter was searching for you left and right, he knew you were sick and he is worried sick about your whereabouts. he called you several times already but you never picked up.
when school finally finished, which for him was the longest six hours of his life, he immediately went to your house.
your mother was the one greeting him, saying that you're resting in the comfort of your bed. he went upstairs, after getting your mom's permission, and knocked on your door softly. "hey, it's me peter, can i come in?"
you gave him a very soft hum, thanks to his advanced hearing he can hear you just well.
you were lying on your bed, covered in tons of blankets. peter felt warmth rushing through his chest, seeing you like this. he approached you slowly and kneeled beside your bed.
"how are you feeling?" he asked ever so gently, hand on your shoulder with the blanket in between.
you peeked an eye open, your room was dimly lit, only your vanity lights were on. "better than yesterday," you answered, pushing yourself up slowly. "the migraine is not as bad as yesterday, my head is hurting- just a little."
"oh okay," peter replied. "do you need anything? i can bring you food or drink or water? do you need painkillers?"
you smiled, reaching for his hand, "i'm fine pete, just cold. can you turn up the ac please?"
peter did just that, jumping to his feet to take the remote.
after that you fell into a deep sleep again. peter was there the whole time. he was thinking about... stuff. stuff he wants to tell you.
he sat on your bed right beside your blanketed legs, his hands over them. he looked at you, your sleepy face, perfect hair, soft cheeks. you are his friend. best friend in the whole world. no one understands him like you did. just a few months ago he realised that his feelings may have grown.
it's not just a friendship kind of love but a lover kind of love.
he recalled the amount of time he had cried on your arms. laughed together with you. talk about embarrassing things he had done and had regretted. nobody knows him like you do. and peter would not let anybody know him like you do.
you're the only person that he can be vulnerable with. the only one that he can just be himself even if it's not the best. the only one he trusts.
"what are you thinking over there?" your voice pulled him out of his thoughts. he gave you a smile and you gave peter space for him to lie down.
"just thinking about thoughts... ?" peter answered but it's more like a question.
"thoughts about?"
"nothing."
"you know you can always tell me anything right? no matter what it is," you assured the boy.
"yeah..."
"so...?"
"you're sick right now, you should be resting," he said instead.
you sat up, stretching your muscles as you scrunched up your face. "i feel a whole lot better now... hey do you want some meal and we'll talk about whatever you are thinking about? cause by the look of your face, it's something that has been bothering you hm?."
peter thought about it for a while, but he really didn't have to. it was about time for him to tell you how he feels. he just hoped that you feel the same way.
your mom brought the two of you dinner to your room, you thanked her before she left and urged peter to eat. "pete?"
"yeah," he cleared his throat, "um i don't really know how to start this."
"it's okay, you can take as much time as you want, i'll be here," you said as you take a spoonful of the dinner.
that's also another thing about you that made his feelings even more clear. you never pushed him. always waiting for him to be ready.
"i like someone," he started. you stopped what you were doing and turn your focus fully on him. your heart felt like it has been crushed. "i know we never talk about y'know- this kind of stuff together but the thing is, i like her so much maybe i even love her, i don't know yet though cause i don't really know how love feels- but i sure do like her a lot."
"and does she know this?"
"no... but she knows now" peter answered, hoping that you'd get what he meant.
"what do you mean?"
peter sighed looking down at his lap, "well she's my best friend. my only friend actually. i really really want to be more than friends with them because she is everything to me. i smile every morning because i know i will see them later that day. i spent most of my time thinking about the two of us together. and you know just how worried i was when they didn't go to school because she was sick."
"peter-" you warned him.
"y/n, listen to me-"
"peter please don't," you whispered. you thought you would be jumping and giggling if peter ever confessed to you but instead it's the complete opposite. you don't want this. you can't have this no matter how much of you wanted him.
peter's eyes were brimming with emotion, shiny tears fighting their way not to roll down. "you don't feel the same do you?"
you wanted to say yes. yes you feel the same, you like him so much and that's what you're so worried about. "peter it's not that easy. we- we can't," you shook your head.
peter's brows knitted together, he was bitting the insides of his lower lip. "that's ok. i'll just go home now. i'm sorry for making things weird yeah? just forget everything i said. tomorrow is a new day." he forced a smile before he is out the door.
just like what peter has said 'tomorrow is a new day' so you acted like yesterday never happened. you walked into school, seeing peter by his locker. you smiled at him. "morning!"
"morning, y/n," peter said back, voice cracking.
"let's go to class," you suggested.
through out the day everything was just like how it used to be. you still sit besides each other. still eat lunch together. everything was the same... except that peter can't look at you for more than three seconds and you two don't talk as much anymore.
peter still walked you home, though there is no goodbye hug.
you wondered if you had made the wrong decision. what if you just accept your feelings and let peter in? but the thoughts of ever, god forbid, breaking up with him is what makes you back away from accepting his love.
you love peter so much. more than you can ever say. in a world of boys he's a gentleman. he proved so today. even after getting rejected and having his own heart torn into pieces, he still walked you home.
the next day though, peter seemed to be avoiding you.
you tried to come to him several times but he just gives you short replies. you couldn't blame him. he has every right to do so.
it has been two weeks since. you missed your peter so much. you missed his cheeky smile. his science jokes. his laugh that never fails to make you smile.
sure you can live without peter parker, but would it be as exciting? would you let the only person that knows you best slipped away like that just because you pretend to not return his feelings?
it was such an emotional rollercoaster. on one hand you want to wake up beside peter, but on the other you worried that he'll realize that he's better alone so you'd break up. you want to cuddle up next to him, but you fear he'll get sick of you and break up.
why does every intimate thought of him always ends up with breaking up?
you tried to bottle up your feeling until you can't anymore. so here you are now, knocking at his door.
he opened up, looking as tired as one can be. now that you really look at him, you notice his beautiful freckles that doted all over his nose and cheeks, his smile lines around his eyes, his pretty eyes that you love so much. even in his exhausted state he still looked so- so perfect.
"y/n? what're you doing here?" peter spoke.
"i want to talk to you." you mumbled, looking down at the pavement.
peter was silent. complete silence.
"i want to tell you that i do like you too, peter. i was just being dumb because you're my best friend for years and if we ever get together, what will happen when we break up? i don't want to lose you. so by pushing my feelings aside i can just continue like nothing happened... but i can't stop thinking about how i have hurt you. i completely denied and hurt your feelings and i can't forgive myself for that."
peter put a warm hand over your shoulder, rubbing his thumb back and forth.
"it's fine. if you don't want this then we don't have to." he said.
"but i want this."
"you do?"
"yes but-," you took a deep breath, "but what if we broke up?"
peter shook his head at that, "we haven't even got together yet and you're thinking of breaking up?"
"it's not funny."
"y/n look at me, i love you. i will not let that happen. and if you really think about it, what is there to be the reason of our break up?"
"i don't know something might come up."
"we know everything about each other, we understand each other. if there's something, i'm so so sure we can work it out," peter placed a hand on your cheek, forehead touching.
"really think so?"
"of course," he replied. "i'm also sorry for saying that so suddenly. i should've known better."
"it's okay peter, we're here."
"yeah we are, and we are not leaving each other yeah?"
"promise," you said.

ஜ ˖ ࣪ masterlist ࣪࿐ྂ ENTRY ONE : A NEW LIGHT ࣪࿐ྂ next : where did it all go wrong?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ஜ ˖ ࣪࿐ྂ. even after all these years, detective itoshi rin has never gotten over the murder of his wife. he swore that he'd find the killer and figure out what really happened to you that night. the case ended up getting out up as a cold case, however. one day, though, he happened to stumble upon your diary while clearing up the attic to move to a new house. as he went through it, he realised that maybe it wasn't murder, perhaps something else. now with new leads, he manages to open the case  again, with a new hope to find out what happened to you, but personal matters start getting in his way.
series : detective! itoshi rin! x dead! fem! reader, mentions of death, marriage, angst, rich! rin, mystery au, abuse, violence, black mail, unrequited love, threats, widowed rin, yn and rin have child named “mai” stalking ノ 2.1k wc. ノ mentions of eating disorder, yn has shitty parents. (more could be added.)
Tumblr media
Often, Rin found himself having dreams about you—odd ones, never normal—at least the ones that started normal. He was in your shared room, and you were twirling in your wedding dress, the exact same thing you did four days before your wedding. He’d come up behind you, and suddenly he was in his tuxedo. The image of the two of you became distorted, and you’d fall on the floor, blood all over his suit and hands, your wedding dress drowning in blood, and your face was lifeless.
The first time he woke up, distressed, he immediately checked your (untouched) side of the closet, making sure the wedding dress was still in good shape.
Sometimes he’d head to his daughter's room (the last thing he really had that reminded him of you) and hug her. “Dad, are you ok?” The eight-year-old mumbled, sleep most obvious in her tone. “Yes, I’m okay. Go back to sleep,” he assured, trying to fight back tears that burned his eyes.
She was the carbon copy of you, with the same hair, nose, and even the way she acted. The only thing of him in her was her bright blue eyes.
Sometimes, he’d simply cry. All that his brain has been begging him to do after bottling it up and staying strong for his child.
He shut his car door, walking up to the entrance to his daughter's school.
“Mai, your dad is here,” the teacher called, and she quickly turned her head away from her friend and waved at him. “She’s doing good in school, yeah?” He asked as Mai ran up to hug her father. He picked her up, and she laid her head on his shoulders. “Shes amazing! You’ve got quite a disciplined daughter right there.”
She definitely got that from him; you were always up to no good.
“Good to hear,” he smiled, something he found himself doing quite often ever since your death six years ago. It was a big change from his stoicness and his tendency to be rude and cold, but he had to change for his daughter. You weren’t there to balance out his personality.
He opened the car door for his daughter. “Put on your seatbelt, or I will tackle you,” he threatened, but it didn’t seem to affect her, not with that obvious soft look on his face.
It was a long, staring contest before he sighed. “Fine, I guess we’ll just hit a car, and you’ll fly out.”
The eight-year-old giggled, “Sounds fun.”
“If you do, I’ll get you ice cream,” he tempted, and the girl nodded in agreement. “Deal.” She finally put on her seatbelt, and Rin got into the driver's seat.
“Dad, can you ask a question?” Mai asked, as he found himself in the middle of long traffic. “Of course.”
“What was a mama like?” She wondered, her voice filled with curiosity. “She was amazing,” he smiled softly, a real one this time. “She looked like you, and you act just like her, you know? She would be so happy to see how much you resembled her if she were here right now.”
The kid smiled and said, "But will I ever have another one? Or is it just you and me forever?”
Rin furrowed his child’s question. “What do you mean?”
“Well, everyone in my class has a mom. And I wonder, Will you ever have one?”
In a way, Rin felt anger at the question. No one could be you or be like you; no one could take your place in his heart.
“I’m not sure, honey.”
His phone buzzed suddenly, just in time, and he picked it up to see who had texted him.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t long before the clock read five o’clock, and he could see Emi’s car parking outside.
Aoki Emi, your best friend, or she used to be before you died. She was there for him during those rough times, even when his own family couldn’t.
Her crush on him was, well, painfully obvious. Even before you died, he could tell.
However, the boy ignored it; Emis crush wouldn’t do anything; he only had his eyes on you.
But what pissed him off? Even if she was the only person who was there for him, who he would consider a “close friend,” everyone never understood that he truly didn’t like her like that. Even Isagi, Bachira, and Chigiri all encouraged him to be with her, other than Otoya, who seemed to have a crush on her. Even his own daughter.
He’d admit to anyone else that she was attractive. She is tall and blonde, with green eyes and a small beauty mark beneath her bottom lip. Not to him, though. He wanted only you, even if you weren’t there; he was forever loyal to you.
Maybe he should cut ties with the girl; after all, what good did she serve him anymore? He thought about that multiple times, but Mai hated the idea. She loved her, almost considering her her new mother. (The thought disgusted him.)
Boxes were all that was found in the house, other than the smell of food that filled the house as Mai munched on the food. He would be moving everything the next day, and all that was left was his room and the attic.
“Do you think you could do my room, and I’ll be doing the attic?” he stated, and she nodded warmly. Suddenly, he was pushed away by his short daughter. “Mama!” She exclaimed as the blonde girl lifted herself up.
Rin furrowed his brow. “Not mama, it’s Emi,” he corrected his daughter, and a frown fell on her face. “Right.” Emi mumbled as she placed the little girl down. “So your room, you said?”
He nodded as she grabbed a few boxes that lay on the kitchen counter as she walked off. “Go watch TV, as long as you like; only for today, however,” he said as he patted his daughter on the head. “Yay!”
He quickly headed to the attic, which he’s been avoiding for weeks now. It was dusty and filled with old things; luckily, many were already placed in boxes.
Some remained unboxed, however. He went to the pile of things and grabbed a box.
Surprisingly, this was easier than he thought, as he quickly grabbed the dusty items and placed them in the box.
But a dusty grey leather book caught his attention. It said nothing, and he wasn’t sure why, but he was curious.
For Emi, she seemed to be doing better. Rin had packed most of the things, but she was still pondering why she even agreed to this.
She opened his drawer stand, and suddenly she was met with a picture of you. She loved you; you were her best friend.
But as she went through the pictures, she realised just how much you’ve taken from her. You were always better—in her eyes. Prettier and smarter is why she always studied her ass to best you.
As she went through the pictures of you, she reached the ones of you and Rin simply and one that included all three of you. All the way back in junior year of high school. It was Christmas, three weeks after you and Rin first started dating.
You had dragged her along despite the fact she wasn’t invited because you were “nervous to meet his parents and brother.” She was annoyed but went along.
It was fun, but she remembers exactly the feeling of jealousy. You win everything, and you just had to steal Rin from her.
You all stood in front of the camera, Rins arm across your shoulder, and she sat in a chair in front of you both, forcing a fake smile, which was nonexistent in Rins face.
The rest of the pictures were only you two, taken by Rins parents, who were excited for their son.
She got tears rolling down her cheeks as she crumbled up the picture and placed it in her pocket. “You just had to steal Rin from me; steal everything for me, bitch!” She whispered and yelled, making sure no one could hear.
Rin wouldn’t notice she took it or burned it.
Rin opened the book. Diary entry one. 6/8/2008 Huh, diary? Was this yours?
Lately, I’m not sure; maybe I’m imagining it. Rin has been quite distant. I don’t know why we’ve only been dating for a year; why is he already so distant? I think he might be going through something; I'm not sure. I’ll give him space. Other than that, life’s pretty good, I guess.
This is from... sixteen years ago?
Entry two. 3/4/2009. It has been some time since I completely forgot about this thing. Life isn’t that good, not anymore. I solved things with Rin. But my grades are dropping, and I’ve gained some fat. I hate my body right now. My parents aren’t proud; they keep comparing me to Emi. I hate that. Is it bad that I feel a little jealous? I’m not supposed to; she’s my best friend, and I love her. But all I can hear is how amazing she is all the time. I can't say this to Rin; I don't want him to worry. Im trying. I really am, I swear; I'm studying, I have a part-time job, and I'm working on losing fat—not in the best way, I guess, though.
He saw dried tear stains around the paper, which smudged some of the text.
Entry three. 4/6/2009. My parents found out I'd been staving myself; they got me a therapist. I guess it’s good to know they care. But god, they pitied Emi more when she broke down crying when she found out. Like, hello? I’m the daughter who’s been going through this eating disorder; why do you care how much I've saddened her? They should be worried about me, not her; you are my parents, not hers.
Entry four: 5/6/2009 Rin found out . Now he won’t leave my side; he saw how little my parents care. So, I’ve been going to his house lately. He reminded me to eat, and he watched me do it. I hate it, but I know he’s just looking out for me. I love him. He’s all I have right now, really. I guess I have Emi too, but she’s really just thriving in my parents attention right now. Don’t you have your own?
He skipped a few pages, which ended up leading him to the ones you’d written six years ago.
Diary entry, I don’t know; I lost count. 23/11/2018.
This was only three weeks before you died.
Fuck life. My hormones are all over the place. I love Mai; she’s so cute. She has Rin's beautiful eyes. But my body looks so bad again. I haven’t been eating lately; I’m trying. Emi’s noticed something’s up, but I think I’ve hidden it well. Rin is so much help; he stays up late and wakes up when she starts crying.
Diary entry: I still don’t know. 24/11/2018 I’ve relapsed again. Rin realised he was mad. He isn’t understanding; you think he’s just worried? I don’t know. Lately, my friends have been distant, even Emi. I don’t know, I miss them, but I need someone to talk to too. My mom only talks to me to ask about her grandchild; she never asks about me. She got mad when I told her I hadn’t spoken to Emi in a while either. I feel like crying; I want to so badly, but I know if I do, I will crumble.
Diary entry. ??? November 25, 2018. I feel detached from life; I don’t know. I feel so close to ending it. I’m still keeping it cool around Rin and my daughter, but it’s getting harder every day.
He closed the book there. That was the most he could read. No way was it suicide; you wouldn’t. It made him want to open that case again; you didn’t do it, no way you did.

It was early in the morning by the time you and Ethan had finished your little mutual masturbation session, and you were both tired and exhausted after sharing multiple orgasms back to back, but that didn't stop you guys from texting each other back and forth till sunrise he wanted to talk to you on the phone some more, but you were too shy after everything you did with him so you decided texting would be better.
Heeseung: So I feel like we rushed into this a little fast, so maybe if it's okay with you, we could talk and get to know each other better.
Your heart jumps at the thought of him actually wanting to get to know you. When you first called him that night, you never even thought of something like this happening, but you weren't complaining either.
You: Sure, I'd love to
He smiles, fingers dancing across his keypad to reply
Heeseung: So, I guess I should get this out of the way first. My real name is actually heeseung and not Ethan.
You cup your mouth in shock while reading his text.
You: There's no way.
Heeseung: Why? Do you not like it? You can still call me Ethan if you want. I just thought I'd let you know.
You: No, I do like it, but I just moaned your fake name for the past hour. Why didn't you tell me sooner?
Heeseung: Sorry, angel, but I do have to admit I love the way you call me Ethan.
You: But what if I called you by your real name?
Heeseung: Fuck don't say that now. I'm gonna get hard all over again just thinking about it.
You: Not saying it 😬
Heeseung: So, are there any secrets you're hiding from me or things I should know before we start talking?
You: What, no, why would I?
Heeseung: I'm playing Angel, so tell me more about yourself. You had me intrigued since day 1
You blushed, kicking your feet excitedly as you went on to tell him more about yourself. Some trivial things and, surprisingly, a lot of personal things that normally you found hard to open up about, but with him, it was so easy, especially cause he opened up to you about a lot of things as well.
The sun was up while the two of you texted away with each other, talking about an array of various topics until you both had to go to sleep. Finally, you had school in the morning, and he had worked at a sandwich shop he had told you about earlier.
Heeseung: Angel, I'm so sorry. I gotta go now. I have school and then work tomorrow, but if it's okay, I'd like to talk some more.
Your heart flutters, still not able to comprehend the fact that you were actually talking to the guy you met on a phone sex site, and on top of that, he was actually interested in getting to know you.
You: I'd love to. I'll be home by three my time.
Heeseung: Okay, I work part-time in the afternoon, so I'll call a bit later, okay, Angel?
You: Okay, goodnight etha- I mean heeseung
You tease.
He chuckled at the text, eyes burning from staying up and talking to you for so long, but it was so worth it.
Heeseung: Goodnight angel
Tumblr media
Heeseung: Morning
Heeseung texted you first thing. He knew you'd probably still be asleep after staying up so late, but he knew you'd see his text at some point today.
He was right cause you woke up hours later and saw his text responding to him immediately.
You: Morning Ethan
Heeseung: Look who finally decided to show I was so lonely without you. 🥺
You: Please as if 🙄
Heeseung: Wow, here I am, trying to be cute, and you just diss me. That's cold, especially after I sent nudes. 😔
You: Aww 😀
Heeseung: Rude
Heeseung: So anyway, are you still at school? Was it fun? How is your day going so far?
You smile at your screen, getting all giddy because he's actually taking an interest in what you're doing.
You: I'm walking home now, but yeah it was fun but also kinda boring if that makes sense.
Heeseung: It totally does, angel, and I'm happy you're finished. You deserve a break.
You: Thank you
Heeseung: Wait, you don't mind if I call you angel, right?
You: Of course not. I love it when you call me that.
Heeseung: Good girl.
You: *blush*
Heeseung: Cutie, so I was thinking maybe once I get off work, if you'd like to chat for a while, are you still up for that?
You: Hmmm, sure, I'd like that.
Heeseung: I get off at five, is that okay?
You: Works for me.
You: But wait, aren't you supposed to do your other job?
You ask after finding out he worked two jobs along with school.
Heeseung: Shh, haha, yeah, but like, of course, I'm gonna skip it for you duh🙄
You: Heeseung, don't do that.
You reply, letting him know that you shouldn't be his priority over working.
Heeseung: It's whatever, just something I do for quick cash cause I'm good at it. Besides, missing one night isn't going to break the bank.
You: If you say so.
Heeseung: I do say so. I'm gonna get back to work before my manager scolds me for being on the clock while on my phone. Expect to hear from me later, though, okay?
You: Okay! Have a good rest of your shift. I look forward to hearing your voice again😉
You add, attempting to flirt a little.
Heeseung: Keep talking like that and watch the way I walk off the job so I can go home and call you.
You: 😬
-
"So, angel, if you don't mind me asking, where are you from?" You were both home relaxing on your beds while you FaceTime each other, except he was the only one showing his face.
You go on to tell him where you're from, and as soon as the words leave your mouth, his face falls completely flat.
"You're joking? Like, please tell me you're joking."
"No?"
"That's hours away from here," he pouts. "Like thousands of miles."
"So?" You shrug.
"So? I was thinking about meeting you, obviously not this soon, but like maybe later down the road once we get closer, but I guess that's probably not gonna ever happen."
"That's what FaceTime is for," you chuckled, trying to hide your happiness. You couldn't believe he had actually thought about meeting you.
"I can't touch you through the phone," he deadpans as your giggling comes to a stop.
"O-oh," you whisper shyly.
"What? Something wrong?"
"Nothing, just trying to get used to your forwardness."
"I can tone it down a bit since we haven't known each other that long, you know? I just thought since we already you know it'd be okay, but if not I'll stop."
He rambles on and on.
"No, it's fine. I like it, and I feel really close to you already, like two peas in a pod." You smiled even though he couldn't see it.
"Really?"
"Yeah, we covered a lot of ground last night," you laughed.
"We sure did," he smirked, and by that look, you already knew he was about to say something. "So, how about you let me put my pea in your pod?"
"Stop it." You covered your face, cupping your cheeks that were burning from embarrassment.
"You're so easy to tease," he giggles. "So is it like cold where you are then?
He asked instead of teasing you some more.
"Yes, and it's a bit past midnight already," you groan.
"Midnight? So, should I let you go now?"
"I think that would be best, yeah."
He popped his mouth. "Dang it, well, okay. I can call you again tomorrow if you want at the same time?"
"Same time. Goodnight, Ethan."
He rolls his eyes jokingly. "Night night angel"

F1 AU // GALLAVICH
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ian Gallagher is a racing driver, a young star of the McLaren team. Mickey is just a car technician, who only recently joined the team as a trainee.
/long read backstory below/
Okay, I've thought about this a lot. So.. Shameless US but.. huh? living in UK?
First of all, because Formula 1 is more popular in Europe. Secondly, because I want to alter the story of Mickey's growing up. Make it a story about a little boy persevering towards his dreams. And how a simple childhood passion can grow into a potential job opportunity.
If briefly, below I talk about Mickey's developmental stages, along with his final emigration from Ukraine to the UK.
I'm not going into Ian's backstory here. But I'll mention this in more detail at the very end of the post, if you get to the end. Ha ha. Have fun reading!!
---------------
Mickey was six, just a little boy, when he first saw a F1 race on TV. And he was amazed by how quickly the cars could go and how quickly the mechanics performed at pit stops. (Are these even mechanics? Well, they turn the wheels, dad does the same thing in the garage and considers himself a mechanic).
When the next year he went to school in his first grade, then to all the teachers' questions or questionnaires with their “What do you want to be when you grow up?” he confidently answered as clearly as his childish language could, that he would definitely become a F1 mechanic. Even though he received only gentle smiles in reaction to his naivety of being a kid, the desire took root in his little head.
---
As he grew older, he continued to enjoy racing, watching every race weekend he could. And while he was a child this did not cause any particular problems. Mom encouraged him in his interests and every New Year gave him tiny branded cars of the teams he loved. But as he gets older, the more often he hears from dad that he is interested in some stupid things. And he didn't want to hear a word about racing at all. As soon as Mickey mentioned it even once, he was cut off mid-sentence.
These are not real cars.
Real mechanics work in a garage with real cars, not kids' toys for show.
Come down to earth. It’s all somewhere far away and you never even get to one of these races in your life.
---
Well, Mickey talks less about racing out loud anymore. Especially after mom's gone.
Tiny model cars disappeared into the closet's darkness.
His dad began to drag him into their garage more often so that he would get used to work and not wander around idle, lost in his stupid dreams. He had to skip live racing broadcasts as a result. It was sort of suicidal acts to turn this on in the garage on a small TV instead of some dumb music channel with hit songs. Mickey had learnt long ago to keep his mouth shut.
Just listen. Bring it. Grab it. Repair simple details. Don't go under the hood. Don't touch this, don't touch that. And especially don't break anything. Blah blah blah.
Jesus, are you even a man? Take your gentle hands away if you're not ready to get dirty.
---
Despite everything, Mickey still had a dream. One day, he hopes to watch a real-life race. Hear the noise of wheels flying over the track, the roar of engines, the screams of a supportive crowd. He prefers to never talk about his own desire to work as a car mechanic or engineer in F1.
---
Mickey was sixteen when he left after ninth grade for a vocational college to applied mechanics specialty.
Because, well, he had good reasons for leaving school two grades early. At the very least, he was already tired of going to school. He didn't even have any friends there. Yes, he communicated with classmates, but that's not it. It's forced. Just so as not to be an outcast and maintain the status of the Milkovich family by playing dirty tricks at school and bullying others. Did he like it? Absolutely not. These guys were idiots with stupid jokes and always picking on chicks.
They kept asking if he liked any of them and talking about how they looked all the time. Mickey never liked anyone. It wasn't that the girls were ugly, he just didn't find them attractive. But he pushed these thoughts away and ignored them. Left it somewhere near to the tiny race cars in the darkness.
Also, classmates called him into fights on regularly. Not that he was against kicking someone's dumb ass, but that he would prefer better reasons than just trying to prove whose class is above.
Another reason is that, in their family, working with their hands and having a real profession are more valued than going to higher education. Because this is a job for real men. Where will all these managers, lawyers, accountants, stupid psychologists be when their car breaks down? Mechanics will always have work and profit.
As well, Mickey is deeply curious about the workings of the engine and wants to fully understand its mechanisms. He will therefore be able to study this in practice with teachers, rather than with a psychotic bastard who screams at the slightest opportunity.
The only thing Mickey truly wanted to learn at school was English. Not because he loved it. This gave him at least some hope of "breaking abroad for the sake of a good life". Perhaps the main reason for his success was that he had a really great teacher who pushed and encouraged him. Sometimes he would stick around after class and stay just to talk with her. Mickey felt parental care, which he hasn't received lately.
“I believe that you can achieve a lot, Mikhailo. Just believe in yourself.” She told him and he believed her, hugging her a little longer so as not to show his wet eyes.
And well, after leaving school, these words sometimes came to mind during the saddest times, when he returned home after a long day of school combined with an exhausting shift in the family garage. Every time he spoke with his dad, he felt terribly devastated. The dream was literally slipping out from Mickey's hands. A pipe dream, is that what they say? Well, at least he'll try to do something.
---
Mickey was twenty when he graduated and by this time he was actively saving money, hiding it in different places. Also, he planned his escape from home, considered the best routes, and looked at what things he should take with him, confused about whether he would ever return home again.
As he approached his twenty-first birthday, he finally decided to do it. With only a spark of hope, he was ready to leave for nowhere. And okay, Mickey was a realist; he was aware that things might not work out at all and that he would have to return back eventually. But he'll do anything, though, to make sure that this doesn't happen, to avoid having to meet his dad's derisive gaze once more as his goal gets mocked.
After all, a dream is a dream, right? He also had skills and language abilities in his pocket. So he's really ready to do anything to attain even the tiniest success.
---
To get to UK, Mickey had to go through a long journey of transfers from bus to train, from train to plane. He's terribly tired, but here he is. He stands and watches as the new country greets him with heavy rain.
He first found it difficult to adjust to other people's smiling faces. There were a few times when he didn't feel at home because everyone was so friendly and lovely. And these people were incredibly talkative. He'll have to get used to this if he plans to stay here.
The first difficulties he encountered occurred at the department while filling out a form for migrants.
“Mik.. Mikai.. Mikaelo?”
“Mikhailo.” Mickey interrupted.
The employee's eyes stared blankly at him.
He sighed. “Ugh.. Mickey? Yeah, Mickey.”
“Okay, Mickey. Here you are.”
---
Mickey got a job as a mechanic for a small business fairly quickly thanks to his abilities. He was so easily and warmly accepted into the friendly team. Here he first felt respect while working. Mickey got assistance from the job department in extending his visa to stay in the country. His job also provided him with a tiny apartment, deducted from his paycheck.
After a while, feeling a little more self-assured, Mickey started saving money for qualifying courses that would help him in the future.
---
Mickey was almost twenty-four when he successfully obtained all the qualifications that were necessary for the job, as well as to be sure of himself and his knowledge. During this time two full racing seasons had passed. He attended only one race at Silverstone. This was his almost full year in the UK. His skin broke out in goosebumps when he saw the track in person. It wasn't quite what he expected. Mickey literally stood in one place and once in a while cars would drive by. On TV they show a larger overview, but still. He was excited. In this grand prix, a new young racer from the McLaren team took third place for the first time. His name seems to be Ian, and he likes to take risks on the track, driving the car while presenting a strong sense of confidence. And his hair perfectly matches with the team's car.
He missed the second race due to a qualifying exam. But he's not upset. Mickey is closer than ever to his dream. If everything works out, he'll see even more racing. If not, well, then he'll continue to work repairing regular cars. Perhaps he'll be able to attend grand prix events in other countries during his holidays?
But now it's the middle of the season and he's standing in the lobby of the McLaren Technology Center. He's trembling a little and his wild eyes are scanning everything in the immediate area.
Mickey can't believe the reality of what's happening. No he didn't become a mechanic. But.. it's still impressive. He was interviewed and tested to become a temporary vehicle technician for the team as an intern. He was told something about a possible career advancement and access to other things once he completed more qualifications, but he's not sure he heard everything correctly.
Later they tested him on team tests on the track. He's surprised that he was able to concentrate on his speed and did everything exactly as needed.
He actually became… exactly the one who changes the wheels and does minor repairs. He joined the technical team and will also work on pit stops during the races. And well, okay, if everything that's happening isn't a dream, he's really happy. Extremely happy. Of course, the longer he studied, the more he wanted to do engineering and development. But that's the tiny step, right? This is already more than anything he could have imagined. He saw the race in real life from the stands, and now he got the opportunity to see everything from the staff. He'll interact directly with the racing car. He might even hear how the team interacts with racers. Unbelievable.
Through the noise in his ears, Mickey hears someone standing beside him talking in a muffled voice.
“Hey! You're a new technician, right?”
The guy had already taken off his helmet when Mickey turned around. He softly smiles while stroking his fiery red hair.
Mickey stared at him. When he was brought to the track, he thought that some tester was sitting in the car, but not their young star.
“Yeah. Hope so…” He twitched his lip and scratched nose. “You're Ian, right?”
Of course this is Ian, what a stupid question. It's too embarrassing.
The redhead smile became even larger.
“Yeah…”
And just as he was about to add something else, one of the staff called Ian to go back and he hurriedly turned to Mickey and said quickly, “Oh, uh, see ya later then, gotta go.”
---------------
I'm glad I finally wrote and drew this. This idea has literally taken over my head so much that I don't have the energy to write Ian's backstory in the same way. Once again I am convinced that writing is hard work. And I want to say again about my love for writers. YOU ARE INCREDIBLE. For my brain, drawing is easier than writing. But it was fun!
!!!AND!!! THE MOST IMPORTANT THING! If someone suddenly wants to write a big multi-chap slowburn fic or little drabble or do anything, I'll be happy so much with absolutely anything!!
---------------
Let's talk about Ian now. I was actually going to write a backstory for him too. Maybe at least some minor notes, but I'm not quite sure how best to connect his bipolar with racing. Usually because racers drive go-karts from childhood, get into the junior league and generally build a racing career for years. Maybe he had a breakdown somewhere between seasons and it was quickly noticed?? I don’t know… And I think about how the team constantly checks him, which at times upsets him and forces him to prove to everyone that he is fine and able to drive the car.
Most likely, in this AU, Gallaghers are either rich, or Ian has a sponsor, if you know what I mean… From this fact, a whole lot can change in story. And the second thing seems more likely to me.
I was thinking about how Ian joined the McLaren team at the age of 21, and by the time he first met Mickey he was 22. He had been stable for a long time on medication.
So I'm also considering the possibility that somewhere between his 17-19 years he disappeared from the radar and came back when he found a sponsor who could pay for everything he needed and help him get into the F1 league. At first it was the weakest team, until his potential was noticed and he was offered to move to another team. This fact with the sponsor will probably put a lot of spokes in the wheels (ha).
Racer's body is undergoing an enormous physical strain, so they spend a lot of time in the gym. And Ian really enjoys working out with his team.
Another interesting fact: racers have a super-strong neck to be able to cope with gravitational forces during the race. Therefore, special attention is paid to neck in training. (It seems from the moment I found out this my little fixation began…)
---------------
I think there's a lot of pining here or something. They seem to be nearby, but due to different job responsibilities, at completely distinct levels. And I really want to read something like this with so slow burning.
So, I guess you can consider this as a big prompt for writing, if it inspires you.
Thanks for reading! <3

request: Could you do a Vanessa x Reader fic, where the reader falls for her, but due to their past, constantly being rejected, or falling in love with awful people. The reader begins to distance themselves from her and ignores her calls, texts, and doesn’t talk to her on the night shifts. One night Vanessa comes in and sees reader isn’t there but sees a note, explaining themselves. Telling Vanessa that you can come and talk to them in another room or just leave and never talk to them again.

i came to work today late as always, but i was surprised to notice i was the first one there. i walked around the pizzeria to look for any signs of mike but he wasn’t anywhere near. confused i went to our shared office, the camera room, just to find it empty as well. i let out a deep sigh and sat down on the chair before cameras to watch for him clocking in even later than me, but that never happened. a few hours went by as i lost any hope for him coming in today, i rolled my eyes at the whole situation and decided to give him a talk the next time we see about not even informing me im was gonna work alone tonight. watching the cameras i saw police car pulling up to the parking and let out a groan at the sight. what could it be this time? i wanted to groan again but then i saw a blonde leaving the car and heading straight to the door. confused i tilted my head and watched her as she calmly stood there and finally rang the bell. like on fire i stood up from my seat disturbed by the sudden sound and opened the door for her. she gently pushed the door and went in visibly looking for someone. i left the office and went straight to the entrance to meet her and ask what is the reason she showed up tonight. when i made my last turn i saw her and my heart immediately dropped. she was one of the most, if not the most beautiful woman i’ve seen in my life. collecting myself i went up to her and finally spoke up.
“hi officer, is there any problem?” i asked still being confused on her being here. she just laughed and i swear, the sound of it would be the death of me.
“name’s vanessa.” she said as she hand out her hand for me to shake. “and no, there isn’t any problem in particular i just wanted to see how you guys have been doing.. here.” she added and softly smiled, i would say even too softly. without thinking i shook her hand and smiled as well.
“oh. okay then.” i said more to myself, not having any idea how badly that one conversation would affect my many upcoming days.

tonight me and mike were sharing a shift again. surprisingly we both showed up at time so it was a pleasant one right from the beginning. around two am, a certain blonde police officer came up again. mike was a bit surprised at first but i explained to him that two days ago she was here too just to see how the shift was going. i don’t think he believed me but i couldn’t do much about it anyway. i walked over to the door to invite her in, mike following me with a bit sceptical look on his face. i chuckled as i reached the door opening it for the pretty blonde. her face almost immediately lighted up when she saw me. i could feel my face blushing.
“vanessa, this is mike. my shift buddy.” i introduced him as he gave her a small wave. she smiled to him waving back.
“i’m vanessa.” she greeted him with a wave back and i smiled at the interaction.
“is tonight any problem or you just checking up as last time?” i ask being more confident than natural even confusing myself. vanessa moved her eyes to me once again and chuckled.
“no problem at all, just checking.” my smile widened more as i moved away from the door to let her in. she did so, and started talking with mike again.
“i hope you, you both, don’t mind my presence here. i get all the shifts around here so coming in seems… like a bit of variety to my night work.” she said and mike just shook his head signalling that it’s okay for her to be here. she then looked at me and i did the same thing as he did, earning myself a beautiful smile from the beauty standing before me.
“it’s okay, we don’t really do much around here either” mike spoke up and she moved her attention to him once again. “and my ‘shift buddy’ seems to be excited with you being here” he said with a smirk and i rolled my eyes at him. she laughed at his words and walked away going to the stage room.
i walked up to mike and gave his shoulder a punch for what he said. he laughed at my actions and rolled eyes with a soft smile.
“what has gotten into you?” i asked being confused but mostly surprised at his previous words. he just looked at me with a begging look and laughed once again.
“please, i see how you look at her and how your face lighted up when she parked her car here.” he said and i felt my face blushing again. maybe there was a bit of truth in his words?
“don’t be ridiculous, she’s just some police officer and you’re acting like i she’s the love of my life” i said and scoffed giving his shoulder another punch. he dodged away and chuckled loud enough only for us to here.
“i’ve never said anything about her being the love of your life.” he said and smirked as i scoffed again. “and that’s exactly how i know, you like her at least a tiny bit.” he added and i rolled my eyes.
“you’re being outrageous, i’m just being nice, she seems nice so im being nice.” i tried to explain myself realising i was only digging my own grave. he laughed this time and i pushed him away walking away from him and following her to the stage room.
when i walked in i saw her standing before the stage talking to freddie. what an adorable sight. i took myself out of the trance and walked over, closer to her not wanting to spook her.
“they’re pretty cool.” i said with a smile looking at the animatronics. she immediately looked over at me and smiled.
“seems like they like you too.” she said with a laugh and i didn’t fully understand her but just laughed along with her. her eyes went to the animatronics again only to go back to my face again in a second. i smiled noticing it while looking at her too and smiling widely. she chuckled softly looking at my face and maybe it was my imagination but she stole a glance at my lips. i wanted to say something but mike interrupted us.
“i can watch the cameras for a while if you want to talk with her.” he said standing at the doorframe with a smirk on his face. oh god. i rolled my eyes moving my eyes from her to him and nodded my head.
“if you want to.” i shrugged and he laughed at the way i tried to sound nonchalantly. vanessa chuckled as well and i felt my face red up again.
“you know where to find me.” he said and saluted to me walking out of the room and going to the cameras once again.
vanessa looked at me with a grin as she fixed her belt, i swear she was doing that on purpose as well. she started to wander around the room looking anywhere but at me. i shook my head slightly at her actions.
“so…” she started and stole a glance at me going back to looking around once again. i stood there observing her with an uncontrollable smile widening on my face. “you’ve been working here for long?” she asked and i almost laughed at the question and the silence part she wanted to say but never did if i was working here for long with mike. i slowly started to walk to her putting my hands in my pockets.
“not too long, but some time, yeah.” i answered and smiled at my own mysterious words. she stood in her place and looked at me with amusement painted on her face.
“and how’s it been? you like it here?” she asked still looking at me as i was slowly walking towards her.
“it’s okay, at least i made a new friend when i started working here.” i said with a smile referring to mike and my relationship with him. she smiled at my words but i could see how that smile was turning into a smirk.
“a new friend huh?” she asked grabbing her belt once again looking at me gently rising one of her eyebrows.
“yup.” i chuckled being close to her now, maybe one meter away. “just a friend.” i added with my own smirk.
“i see.” she smirked fully now and looked me up and down not being so subtle about it.
“why?” i asked wanting to see how she was gonna reacted. her smirk just grew more.
“just asking.” she shrugged moving her belt along. i rolled my eyes playfully at that. “trying to see if i could ask you out.” she said bluntly and i immediately lost my smirked not being ready for her to be so straightforward. after a second my smile came back.
“maybe you could, just need to try.” i chuckled as she moved a bit closer to me reducing the space between us. vanessa bit her lip smoothly, looking at me with a smirk. she started the sentence but mike interrupted us again.
“don’t wanna ruin your moment or anything, as i was excitedly watching you two through the cameras, but that thing.. you know what thing… in our office broke down again and i need you to fix it.” he said scratching the back of his neck while looking at us. i looked at him with mercy in my eyes shaking my head.
“yes, sure.” i said and started walking to him being done with everything at that point. vanessa laughed and collected herself almost immediately, while clearing her throat.
“i’ll be going, just got another call.” she said and i looked at her over my shoulder with surprise. “we’ll get back to that conversation another day.” she added with a chuckle as she excused herself and walked out of the room, leaving my speechless, going to the office once again.

i was right on time again and smiled noticing that mike wasn’t there yet. i confidently walked into our office and put down my stuff sitting comfortably in the chair and looking at the cameras. what i didn’t expect was a police car pulling into the parking this early. i tilted my head and watched as vanessa left her car and walked to the door. leaving my office i quickly went to the entrance wanting to let her in. i smiled seeing her through the glass and immediately opening the door for her.
“mike’s not here?” she asked as she went in, looking around.
“nope, not yet at least.” i said and closed the door. “but he’ll probably get here soon, after last time i told him to always inform me if he’s not gonna make it.” i shrugged and looked at her with w smile.
“i see.” she chuckled and went to the stage room, i followed her like a lost puppy. she said her greetings to the animatronics and turned her attention to me.
“long time no see?” i laughed and she laughed as well, moving a bit closer to me. i tried to move back but unfortunately, or not, there was a table behind me so my legs just hit the wood. she chuckled at that and made another step towards me.
“you can say that.” she said softly, the smirk suddenly turning up to her face. i smiled dumbly to her observing as she was coming even closer to me with every second.
“why so early tonight?” i asked looking at her face and unconsciously licking my lips. her smirk widened.
“just wanted to see you.” she shrugged and i felt my face blushing once again. “and maybe i hoped for mike to be late.” she added with a chuckle and my eyes widened with surprise and amusement.
“any particular reason you wanted to see me, officer?” i chuckled as she was now standing directly in front of me, her nose almost touching mine.
“maybe, maybe not.” she said with a chuckle looking at my lips and licking her own. oh boy.
“hm?” i murmured not knowing why my voice suddenly got quieter. she looked back into my eyes and move her hands so she was leaning them against the table on both of my sides.
“maybe i enjoy spending your shifts with you.” she murmured as well, making our moment even more intimate that it already was. “or maybe i wanted to be alone with you.”
“or maybe both?” i chuckled softly looking at her lips as well noticing how the corners of it went up as i said that.
“maybe both.” she agreed while softly nodding her head, gently bruising her nose against mine causing me to giggle.
i chuckled and kept looking at her lips all the time wondering if she was gonna make the move or not. “well then, enjoy it.” i said softly, looking up to her eyes only to notice she was looking at my lips as well.
“oh, i am.” she said and looked into my eyes, kind of looking for permission to do what we both wanted to at that moment. i chuckled and nodded my head bruising her nose with mine.
vanessa move her head closer to mine, fully touching my nose with her and almost connecting our lips when we heard mike’s voice.
“y/n! i’m here finally!” he shouted and i immediately locked myself out of vanessa’s embrace going straight to him and leaving her hanging there, with a very confused expression on her face.
i walked to mike and greeted him, immediately pulling him to our office with a scared expression on my face. he looked at me confused and noticed vanessa in the stage room as we were passing by and his face immediately changed to worry.
when we finally reached the office i closed the door behind us and looked at him with a puzzled face. he bit his lower lip thinking about words he should use.
“again?” he asked and i felt tears collecting in my eyes. he opened his arms for a hug and i immediately went to hug him.
“again.” i said with tears now rolling down my cheeks, hugging him tightly, wetting his shirt.
it wasn’t the first time he saw me starting to like someone and then getting fully damaged mentally by just liking them. he knew about all my past relationships and how affecting for my mental health they were so it wasn’t an unusual sight for him. in the moment of i guess heat with someone the adrenaline covers my fears but seconds after i feel like crying and screaming for not wanting to go through all the pain and trauma relationships can bring. vanessa was making me feel all bubbly and happy again but every night when i got home from shifts with her i spent half of the day crying not knowing why i was actually feeling that bad. i hoped it would be different this time but the fear of rejection and bringing myself back to normal life again was stronger than any bubbly feeling.
i hugged mike tightly once again and then let go of him, looking with puffy eyes at his face. he just grabbed my hands and stroked them not saying a word but it felt like he said a thousand. i smiled tiredly to him and sniff trying not to cry once again.
“maybe it’ll be different with her.” he finally spoke up and my heart dropped even at the mention of her. “go home tonight, i’ll cover for you.” he said and i looked at him surprised but smiled even more.
“thank you.” i said and squeezed his hands going for my things and leaving the office. i walked to the entrance and looked over to the stage room, guessing i’d see vanessa there but she was gone. the stage room was empty and i felt this weird cold sensation in my stomach again. i squeezed my eyes and opened the door going straight to my car and driving home but not missing the fact that her police car was gone as well.

i was alone at work tonight, fate wanted me to have my own shift that night. i was sitting in my office and watching the cameras when i noticed police car pulling up to the parking. i rolled my eyes not wanting to see her tonight, still not being ready for whatever it was gonna happened to her. vanessa went up to the door and rang the bell once, twice, three times and i didn’t respond for once. observing her through the cameras she knocked on the door then looked straight into the camera waiting for something to happen but it never did. she let out a deep sigh and got back and to her car driving away. i let out a deep sigh myself and put my hands on my face, thinking. being tired of everything that i was feeling i grabbed a napkin that was laying nearby, grabbed a pen and started writing my heart out hoping to give it to her one day.

tonight it was mike’s turn to have his own shift. as soon as he entered our office he saw the napkin with vanessa’s name on it and knew i wouldn’t leave something like that unintentionally so he knew he should handle it to her when he sees her. he decided not read it, even though i wouldn’t mind it that much.
few hours went by and vanessa turned up to the pizzeria. she didn’t pick up on our schedules i guess. she knocked on the door and mike immediately went to open it.
“she’s not in today, it’s just me.” he said with a tired smile.
“that’s what i was hoping for.” she said inviting herself in and going straight to the stage room. mike looked at her confused but closed the door and followed her to the room.
“so uh- what brings you here?” he asked scratching his neck once again. vanessa sat down on one of the tables and let out a deep sigh.
“she doesn’t like me, does she? i was too straightforward, right? i did something wrong, didn’t it?” she asked quickly becoming an anxious mess. mike went to sit beside her and took out the napkin from his pocket not showing her it yet.
“no, you didn’t.” he said and showed her the napkin with her name on it. “y/n is just… she has been through a lot and it may not seem like it but every interaction with you gave her a headache. and not the right kind.” he explained and vanessa’s face darkened even more, looking away from him.
“she doesn’t like me back. i knew it.” she said and wanted to hop off the table but he grabbed her wrist, stopping her from doing so.
“that’s not what i meant.” he said and squinted his face. “look, y/n just… she doesn’t know how to get used to those type of feelings again because of everything that has happened to her.” he said and let out a deep sigh. “it’s not about you, if i’m being honest you’re the least important thing in this whole mechanism. it’s not about you, it could be anyone and it would be the same.” he said and vanessa felt like she was going to start crying in a second. “but if i’m being honest, you’re the right person.” he added and she looked at him confused. “y/n normally wouldn’t even let anybody she found attractive near her in fear.” he said looking at the napkin in his hands. “but with you… she did. and you know how close she let you get. it means you must be different. in a good way.” he said and she uncontrollably smiled. “listen, i’m not gonna talk for her so just have this and… decide what to do with this. but please, don’t let her get false hope. she… im afraid she couldn’t take it.” he said and gave her the napkin also hopping of the table. “i’m going to my office, you know where to find me.” he said and left the room leaving vanessa with the napkin in her hands.
she looked at it anxiously and finally opened it, seeing a handwritten letter written to her.
dear vanessa,
i’m so sorry for everything that happened i mean, when i just ran away scared. sadly i can’t control all the things that im feeling, but believe me i wish i could. you didn’t do anything wrong i would say you did an opposite to that i just… i dont know how to handle what im feeling and i really don’t want to ruin anything. when im with you, you’re making me feel like im on top of the world but when im alone again i feel like a piece of shit. i know it’s fully my problem so i don’t want to bother you with this or anything else connected to me but i just wanted you to know that u really like you and i literally would do anything for these feelings to go away but i can’t. if i wasn’t feeling all of this i would’ve already asked you out and probably ask you to date me but even the thought of it makes me feel like im going to vomit. not because of you, of course, but just at the thought that something can go wrong i just… i hope you understand and i hope this letter doesn’t hurt you as much as it does me. i would do anything to fall for you without feeling… the way i am.
y/n
vanessa felt her eyes water up as she read the last sentence of the letter. she squeezed the napkin in her hands and immediately got off of the table walking straight to her car and driving to my apartment. i have never told her where i live so i guess being a police officer comes with its pros.
when she knocked on my door i was confused on who would be at my door at this hour but when i went to open it and saw her my heart dropped again, just like when i first saw her. i wanted to close the door but she grabbed it first.
“please, let me talk to you.” she said holding the door and looking at me with tears in her eyes. i shrugged and moved away from door letting her in. she closed the door behind her and immediately went after me. “listen to me.” she said grabbing my wrist and i looked at her surprised and scared. she immediately let go off my wrist and took a deep breath. “will you give me two minutes?” she asked and i nodded my head, standing in front of her.
“quick.” i said, being able to only get one word out do my throat.
vanessa took another deep breath and looked into my eyes. “i want to try. i want to see what will turn out from this. i know you’re scared, but i don’t want to hurt you, i know you probably heard it a dozen times, but please, give me w chance.” she said and tears started to form in her eyes. “i want to be with you for as long as the world will let me and even after that. we don’t have to jump into relationship of course, but i just want to be here for you even as a friend. don’t just cross me out of your life because you’re scared. i know how it is, believe me but…” she looked away and blinked a few times. “i want to try with you. i want to be here for you i want… i want to be yours and more importantly i want you to be mine. not on my conditions, not on yours, not on the worlds conditions, on ours. however we make them. i want to be here when you need me or when you just want to talk about everything and nothing. i want to be in your life and i want you in mine. when i first say you that day i knew i wanted to try and i hoped and still hope you’ll want to try as well. i don’t want to scare you or hurt you and ill do anything in my will not to do those things but if i eventually do, just tell me and i’ll do better, for you.” she said and grabbed my hands with her squeezing them. “please, i don’t want to loose you so quickly without even getting to know you. i want to give you my days and nights to just try and help you overcome your fears and everything bad that you’re feeling. i want to be that person and i know it might hurt one day, cause we never know what’s going to happen to us, but… isn’t it at least worth a try?“ she asked and a single tear rolled down her face. i bit my lower lip thinking what to say.
“okay.” i say simply and softly not being able to say anything else, being overwhelmed by her words and everything i was feeling at that moment. she smiled, and i knew this smile already was the death of me.
she let go off my hands and gently put her own on my face stroking my cheeks with a smile and tears still floating from her eyes.
“can i kiss you now?” she asked and i looked scared and felt scared but decided to agree, after all.
i nodded my head and her smile grew even wider. she moved her face closer, touching my nose with hers and just staring into my eyes for a long moment of silence. after a while i smiled to her my hands going to her belt and moved my head up so our lips would finally touch. she kissed me immediately, but she did it so softly i almost didn’t feel the kiss. our lips danced together for a moment and then she leaned away looking into my eyes again. i smiled to her and giggled not feeling so scared or trapped anymore, nor as close as i did that day in pizzeria. her smile widened as well as she whispered.
"i hope none of us is gonna regret it, ever."

[And After?]
(kind of a part II but could be read as a stand alone)
You broke up with Atsumu your final year of high school.
Was it because you both would be in separate areas of Japan and you didn’t want to go long-distance? Partially.
But when you uttered those words, you both knew that wasn’t the real reason.
You stood in front of him, eyes downcast and refusing to meet his.
“I’m leaving for Yokohama. I got accepted to university there.”
His eyes widened and you smiled wryly.
“No congratulations?”
“Congratulations.” Atsumu couldn’t help but say flatly.
“I’m guessing you’re going to continue volleyball.” You felt a tinge of regret. You hadn’t bothered to ask him about scouts or recruitment.
He nodded. “I’ve already gotten offer...None close to Yokohama though.”
You gave him a small smile and shrugged in what you hoped looked like a nonchalant way. “I want to focus on my studies and I don’t think I’ll be able to do that if I’m trying to make a long-distance relationship work.”
His hand clenched and his eyes took on a stubborn look that usually signalled the beginning of an argument. “I’ll make it work. I can come visit and I’ll make time when I’m not practising to call and -”
“Atsumu.” He ached at the resignation in your voice.
“‘Tsumu, I need to get away from here. Just start again y’know.”
His eyes flitted toward the boot on your ankle and you unconsciously shifted in discomfort, at the real reason why you were making the decision. He cursed - at it and the entire situation and you couldn’t help but blink back the tears forming at the corners of your eyes. It wasn’t his fault - it was entirely yours.
There was a thud and a ‘oh my god’ rang out from the women’s volleyball captain.
Atsumu was beside you in an instant. He had watched, wide-eyed in horror, as your leg had crumpled, taking you down with it.
“Give her space,” the captain’s voice rang out as you clutched at your ankle, face twisted in pain. “What even happened?”
“I tripped -,” you spit out through clenched teeth. Atsumu saw how your foot had been wrenched in a position it should never be in and felt a rising panic he tried to stifle. Years of experience on the court told him that this was not a minor injury.
You looked up at him with pleading eyes, and he scooped you up, speeding away to the nurse’s office and away from the pitying looks of your teammates.
You groaned in pain and looked at him with panicked eyes. “Atsumu, this-”
“You’ll be fine. It’s okay, it’s going to be fine.” He chanted as if it would make it true.
Your skin had already turned purple and the area surrounding your ankle had swollen up bigger than an egg. You whimpered, both at the pain shooting up your leg and fear of the consequences of what just happened to you.
A trip to the hospital later and you found yourself hobbling back to school in a few days, ankle held tightly in a brace and leaning against crutches. You knew your ankles were weak from a few sprains over the years and they finally gave up and the muscle had torn.
Atsumu had held you while you sobbed as the doctor told you that you couldn’t play for the rest of your final year and most likely needed rehab for longer than that. He was there, waiting outside the classroom to carry your bag between classes and helped you around school. He was there when he found you, squatting with your back against the outside of the gym doors, crying about how unfair it was and he was there to shush you when you beat yourself up for being so clumsy.
It took a while, but eventually you came around and accepted the situation - well you made your peace with it as best you could. You focused on steadily on doing rehab exercises, gritting your teeth and sweating through the pain. You began to joke around again, bickered with Atsumu as you held hands in the school corridors when you graduated to just wearing a boot, and went back to chatting animatedly with your friends.
Atsumu had tried to be positive and not treat you any differently to maintain some sort of normalcy. But when he realised you no longer came to watch the teams practice, he found it hard to swallow the lump in his throat and felt his chest tighten. He stopped looking towards the stands at games, knowing you weren’t there, and forced a fake smile that reflected yours when you politely congratulated him on his wins. He’d never felt such helplessness whenever he caught you staring absent-mindedly out of the window during class, your eyes dull and shoulders slumped.
“The change will be good for me and I don’t - I don’t really want anything to do with volleyball anymore," you said, confessing what he’d known all year.
“It might seem dramatic because I know I can do PT and get better again but I’ll never be back to how I used to play.” You shrugged again casually and he hated it.
“And honestly? I was tired of it anyway. I can’t remember a time I haven’t had bruises or walked without stressing about getting hurt. I like waking up at a normal time and not at the ungodly hours of the morning and not having to force myself to exercise or eat a certain diet. I want to go somewhere completely new and live life free without remembering how difficult all that was.”
Atsumu felt hollow. “But you loved volleyball so much you never minded that before?” He wanted to yell. But he knew it was hopeless - you were determined to throw volleyball away and he was always going to be a part of that.
And so, you were throwing him away too.
“Don’t worry, I’ll still be cheering you on, even if I’m not there,” you gave him another smile that he wanted to scream at.
He couldn’t bear to see how hard you were forcing yourself to be normal and he pulled you into his arms and squeezed tightly, as if you’d disappear right then and there.
“We can keep in touch okay?”
He nodded into your shoulder, not trusting himself to say anything that could drive you any further away than you were already were. He knew you well after dating you these past couple of years. He knew how stubborn you could be about certain things and while he was equally as stubborn, he didn’t want to end things with the two of you screaming and arguing. He needed to accept that you needed to heal and that you didn’t want his help in doing so.
Your hand stroked the back of his hair affectionately, untangling the knots and failing to soothe him.
“I’ll see you around, Atsumu.”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few years passed. You survived university and you managed to get a job back in Osaka at an arts museum and were grateful that your hard work had paid off. You got a new apartment, dated here and there, and went out with friends. All in all, you were content with your life.
And some nights after work, you’d make a cup of tea,
snuggle into some blankets on your couch,
grab the remote,
and watch the MSBY game.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You loved being at the museum. Everything was neat, orderly, and most importantly, quiet. The silence, save for soft murmurs, was comforting. You didn’t have to speak much and spent most of your day hanging out with paintings. It was a stark change from the sounds of balls smashing against wooden floors, sneakers squeaking, and the constant cheers of teammates. Playing such a team-oriented sport had forced you to be around people all the time and you savoured being able to introspect and have alone time now.
You were in a particularly good mood that day. The cute barista had drawn a flower on your cup, you managed to get on the bus on time, and a new exhibit with one of your favourite artists had just begun.
You weaved in and out of different rooms, occasionally writing down information on your ipad regarding the works to present at a meeting later. The muffled atmosphere was music to your ears until you heard a loud laugh accompanied by not-so-silent whispers.
Ugh who is being so disruptful? Do they not know basic etiquette for places like this?
The voices grew louder as you walked in that direction and you shook your head. Probably some youths who didn’t know respect.
You strode into the room ready to scold some rambunctious teen boy when you locked eyes with a very familiar blonde-haired guy.
He had put his hand by his face in an attempt to whisper to a girl beside him and had frozen with his mouth open when he saw you. You kept a straight face as you walked forward, catching yourself nearly snorting at the “caught-with-his-hand-in-the-cookie-jar” expression he had.
“Excuse me sir,” you said sternly, “I’m not sure if you read the sign outside, but you are supposed to keep your voice down here.” He straightened stiffly at your tone and the girl he was whispering to looked at you with alarmed eyes.
“I-I’m sorry ma’am.” She stuttered out.
Atsumu tried to stifle a laugh, saving himself by coughing as your eye twitched. Ma’am? I’m not a grandma.
You whipped your attention to him. “And I’ll have you know that we don’t have any exceptions - even for superstar volleyball players.” Your voice was cold but your eyes held a familiar shine, and he relaxed. He made a note that you still sucked at having a poker face and he could tell you weren’t actually mad.
“What about the handsome ones?” He said grinning but faltered when you didn’t crack. Perhaps he didn’t know you as well as he used to.
You finally sighed and Atsumu mentally danced in victory as you finally gave up your act. “Especially the handsome ones. We hold those to an even higher standard.”
“What are you doing here?” he demanded and you shushed him, dragging him out of the room.
“What are you doing here?” he said whispering this time.
“I work here. What are you doing here?” you shot back, “Since when do you go to places like this?”
“Actually he’s been into art for a few years now,” you turned to see Osamu walking towards you grinning. “Hi y/n.”
“'Samuuu,” you greeted and gave him a hug while Atsumu twitched at the exchange.
“Yeah well I -,” the setter said, scratching the back of his kneck and looking uncomfortable, “It’s an important part of society and culture and stuff.” It's not like he used Osamu to mildly stalk you over the years or anything weird like that.
You looked at him incredulously. "And you chose to come here?”
“No, my fiance wanted to go,” Osamu cut in. “Apparently it has one of the best collections.”
The blonde girl who Atsumu had been whispering to peeked from behind his figure waving. “Hi!”
You blinked, surprised. You had assumed the beautiful girl was Atsumu’s girlfriend. Not that you cared of course.
The three of you exchanged pleasantries, Osamu mainly driving the conversation. His restaurant was doing well apparently and he and the girl were due to be married in a month or so.
“Congratulations!” you squealed, beaming at the both of them.
“Yer welcome to come,” Osamu said winking and you giggled. Osamu was always easy to talk to and you were glad that hadn’t changed.
“I’ll have to see if I’m free,” you replied with a smile and internally pushed the thought of seeing Atsumu looking radiant in a suit and standing at the end of an aisle out of your mind.
Speaking of the man, he had been uncharacteristically quiet during the conversation - a fact that did not escape his twin.
“Well,” Osamu said, “Kaori wanted to check out the special exhibit so we’ll head there first.”
The now dark-haired brother dragged his fiance off and with that the two of you were left alone.
“I should head back-”
“How are you-”
Both of you stopped and he scratched the back of his kneck again. “Right yeah you have to work.”
You nodded. “I should go.”
He bit his lip and looked at the floor. You couldn’t help a small smile looking at such a large man looking so timid.
“Atsumu.” He glanced up, your eyes locked for the first time. It registered how he was a man now, the softer curves of his face had become more angular and he was even taller than before with a broader build as well.
“It was really nice to see you again.” A glimmer sparked in his eyes your statement.
“And we have some cool new exhibits coming up you know since you’re so interested in art and all now…” You trailed off as he shot you a breathtaking grin and you desperately tried to ignore the fact that you were still weak for it even after all these years.
“Yeah I saw some of the posters. I’ll drop by if I see something I like.” He winked and you almost rolled your eyes as you turned to swiftly walk away, heart pounding in your chest faster than it had in years.
Why did I have to blurt that out??? You groaned internally before speeding off to your meeting. You remembered the warm brown of his eyes. Yep. Definitely still weak. Damn it.
After that, Atsumu started showing up to the museum. Every Saturday in fact.
You did a double-take the first time you saw the setter standing in front of a painting with headphones on. You walked over to stand beside him and peeked at him, catching his attention.
“What are you doing here?” you found yourself parroting when he lowered his headphones.
“It’s a museum,” he said confused, “I’m looking at the artwork. You said to come by?”
“I-” you tilted your head to the side, a bit flustered at his re-appearance. Ah that was a stupid question why y/n why??
You bit your lip. You didn’t think he’d actually come. Wasn’t he busy??
“Okay, please enjoy our collections.” You said in a formal voice before walking away, cringing at your awkwardness.
But after a while, you began looking forward to Saturdays and would make an excuse to wander the halls to see where he was. He’d shoot you a toothy smile when he saw you before turning back to the works with a pensive face. Hasn’t he memorised the works by now? You shook your head as you headed back to your office. He did have poor memory from what you remembered.
As you sat down at your desk, you thought back to what happened years ago, remembering how overwhelming everything felt. It took all this time for you to become yourself again and it had taken nearly repressing most of high school to succeed in forgetting all the trauma.
But after seeing Atsumu, you remembered all the good that came with those times too. How you’d hit Atsumu with the volleyball the first time you met, the fighting and bickering that came after, and how surprising it was that the two of you ended up dating. How he used to walk you home after both your practices ended and helped you with your serves. How after your injury, he spent his time not practising nodding off beside you in the library to keep you company and his goofy smile when he saw you supporting him at games . He’d even show up at the part time job you took your final year in a desperate attempt to find something to occupy you during all the free time you suddenly had by pretending he was a customer. You fought back a smile.
Kind of like he was doing now.
You swung your feet as you sat on the edge of the fountain, the both of you sipping on iced coffees. He’d taken to accompanying you on your break and you’d often go to a nearby cafe together.
“Are you even allowed to be out in public like this? I mean Sakusa-san’s always in a cap and glasses whenever I see him in the news photos.”
“Omi hates being social to begin with so he’s extra paranoid when he goes out.” Atsumu shrugged before grinning cockily. That cockiness made you bristle in annoyance - a reflex of yours that hadn’t changed. “What, scared you’ll get caught in a scandal with me?”
“I just don’t want your fangirls coming after me,” you said flatly.
He scoffed in response. “Don’t tell me you’re scared of them?”
“I don’t want to be harassed about it. I’ll end up getting pushed around,” you frowned.
“As if,” he snorted, “You aren’t the type to be bullied so easily.” He felt the ghost of a volleyball slamming into his back and chuckled.
Your frown deepened in disagreement and Atsumu glanced at you before continuing. He never liked to see you doubt yourself. You used to be so confident, standing on the court steadfastly with your eyes alight with mischief. Even when you told him you got into university, there had been a prideful look on your face that he had been relieved to see.
“Though it might be a good idea to have a few photos snapped of us. Our PR team says I need to shake off this playboy image.”
“Image?”
An indignant noise erupted from the man beside you. “Contrary to popular belief, I am NOT a fuckboy. When do I have the time to sleep around? I’m either at practice, matches, or here with you!” He pouted and crossed his arms.
“I’m honoured that the great Atsumu Miya chooses to grace me with his presence during my busy work day,” you said dryly.
“Exactly, you’d be lucky to be caught with me,” he said, winking.
“Still a celebrity I see,” you said shaking your head and opted to look away to focus on the bustle of people around the plaza.
“I’m not bothering ya, right?” You looked at him, confused, as he kept his gaze on the passersby as well. “Ya know, from yer busy work day.”
“Since when do you care about things like that?” Miya Atsumu was not the type to ask permission to intrude on someone’s life.
“I didn’t know if it would be okay,” he said softly and in a tone much more serious than you expected. “To see you again. I know we tried to leave on good terms but…”
You knew what he was talking about. It was good terms - well the best you could do at the time but there was a sense of uneasiness. As if you lost something and you had been so eager to get away that you didn’t realise just what you lost. Seeing him again brought memories back, memories of a time that meant a great deal to you.
“Why do you come back then?”
“I can’t seem to stay away,” he said, chuckling weakly.
“Don’t tell me you haven’t gotten over me yet or something,” you teased, trying to lighten the mood. When Atsumu didn’t respond you felt your breath hitch as your throat felt suddenly tighten. You snuck a peek at him and when your gazes locked, both of you cleared your throats looking away quickly.
“Osamu’s wedding is next week,” he suddenly said, pulling you out of your thoughts.
“Oh right. He must be excited,” you smiled. It was nice that your friend had gotten such a happy ending.
“Want to be my plus one?”
“I believe I was invited.” You raised an eyebrow at him.
He mirrored your raised eyebrow and said, “What, so you’re bringing a plus one?” You laughed at his audacity in automatically thinking you didn’t.
“Maybe I am? You never asked me if I had a boyfriend ‘Tsumu.”
He frowned. “Well do ya? It’s hard to do better than me, you know.”
“Wow, you’re still a dick.”
“And you still dated me. So do you?”
You wanted to press your palms to your eyes in exasperation. How was he still the same?
“No I do not have a boyfriend, Atsumu.”
“What a coincidence,” he said, shooting you the toothy smile. “I don’t have one either so we can go together.”
“You don’t have a boyfriend?”
This time it was Atsumu that felt a surge of exasperation. “A date smartass. So it’s perfect if we go together.”
He cut off your noise of protest at his sudden declaration by waving his hand, “I think your break is almost over. I’ll text you more about it later okay?” he said and walked off, turning around once to frantically wave goodbye at you.
You gave a half-hearted wave before making a shoo-ing motion at him. As you watched him finally turn and leave, you felt your smile slowly fading. You wanted to keep Atsumu at a distance and you had a strong instinct to flee - to go back to ignoring that part of your life. But how could you? You stupidly still found him charming after all these years. Miya Atsumu was slowly managing to worm his way back into your life and you found you were reluctant to kick him out.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the insistence of his fiance, Osamu had decided to hold his wedding near the beach. You had been stunned at how pretty the venue was and admittedly a bit jealous at how gorgeous Kaori looked when she was showing you her wedding gown. You were also a bit nervous at spending a whole weekend with Atsumu around and knowing his personality, he would make sure he’d be harassing you the entire time.
Your suspicions were indeed correct. After you arrived at the hotel, you slid your key card into your room lock and found the red light blinking, preventing your access to a hot shower you desperately needed. You grunted in annoyance, dumping your heavy suitcase on the ground and aggressively slid the card in and out. The red light continued to greet you and you swore in response.
“Why is this not working??”
You heard a click and the door opened to reveal a damp Atsumu, towel slung around his neck and wearing nothing but boxer shorts.
“I thought I heard a sailor with a potty mouth,” he grinned, rubbing the end of the towel against his hair to dry it.
“Atsumu?? What are you doing in my room??”
“y/n I think you mean my room?”
“What? I’m in room 261?”
“You’re in 262,” he said simply and pointed down the hall.
You blinked at him and he snatched the card from your limp hand, lifting your discarded bag from the floor.
You spluttered uselessly as you trailed after him. He slid the card in and green light betrayed you. He easily opened the door and looked at you pointedly, “See this is what it looks like when you use the key for the right door.”
“Whatever,” you grumbled and just as you were about to thank him, he strolled through the door.
“What are you doing? I never said you could go in!”
“Nice,” he said looking around. “It’s the same as mine.”
“No shit,” you were about to say but yelped again when he dumped both your suitcase and himself on the bed.
“I swear your bed is softer,” he remarked as he laid sprawled out on his back.
“You’re getting it wettt,” you whined and he propped himself up on his elbows, his eyebrow lifting.
“You have a hot, shirtless pro-athlete on your bed and you’re complaining about the bed getting wet?”
“I think I’m more questioning why you have boxers with ducks on them,” you mocked trying to ignore that you did, in fact, have a hot, shirtless pro-athlete on your bed.
His lips stretched into a familiar shit-eating grin. “Maybe you’re just grouchy that YOU aren’t wet on the-.”
“MIYA ATSUMU,” you screamed, horrified as you rushed over to clamp a hand over his mouth. Of course, you being you, you nearly tripped as you reached the bed and you yelped as strong arms pulled you forward.
Your palms landed on a VERY solid chest and you looked up to see Atsumu’s face dangerously close to yours. Your eyes widened and you pushed yourself up only to have warm hands grip your thighs, stopping your attempt to get off of the offensive boy.
His eyebrows shot up as you sat, straddled on top of him. “Now we can change that if you-”
“UGH,” you threw your body weight to the side and tumbled off the bed.
“Nice to see you’re still clumsy.” He peered down at your dishevelled figure sitting on the floor glaring at him. “How you managed to play a sport, I’ll never know.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Atsumu regretted it. He internally cursed as you refused to meet his eyes, lips twisting unhappily. His mouth was dry as he tried to smooth over his mistake.
 “I mean I didn’t-” He stammered.
“I don’t know if you recall Miya,” You nearly spit and you saw him flinch as you stood up putting your hands on your hips. “But I was an EXCELLENT volleyball player.”
Yours eyes flashed at him in a defiant way and he nearly fell for you all over again.
“Ehh but your serves kinda sucked.”
“Oh I don’t think you’re in a position to call my serves shit Mr. ‘Don't make me lose my focus or I’ll throw a temper tantrum’.”
“Though,” you pondered for a moment. “You don’t seem to mind people cheering nowadays.”
He sat up, a triumphant smile slowly spreading across his face this time. “Oho and how would you know that? Has someone been stalking my games?”
Your eye twitched and your mouth opened and closed. You wracked your brain desperately for a way to deny this without sounding stupid before settling for a lame, “Get out Miya.”
“You know if you wanna come watch all you have to do is ask, princess,” he said half-jokingly, half-hopeful that you would make the request.
“Leave Miya,” you repeated, refusing to acknowledge that you did want to see him play. “I’m going to take a shower and I don’t wanna see you when I get out,” you warned as you moved towards the bathroom.
“I can help you if you feel lonely~” he chuckled as he heard the door slam. Not wanting to push your wrath any further, he got up stretching before leaving the room.
He was greeted with a face identical to his standing outside the door.
“Ah so this is why you asked for the room next door to y/n.”
“You were listening? Creep.” He said, striding past Osamu towards his own room.
“I’m glad the two of you seem to be getting along,” he heard the amusement laced in his brother’s voice.
“Yeah,” Atsumu said softly with his hand paused on the handle of his door. “I hope we are.”
There was a silence between the two brothers and they distantly heard the sound of kids running down the hallways of the hotel somewhere.
“What? Too reluctant to leave her already?”
Atsumu grimaced and Osamu nearly threw his hands up. “I know you’re whipped but she’s next door ‘Tsumu.”
“Osamu,” Atsumu said in a serious manner that made his twin scrunch his face in concern. “I forgot my key card.”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun was setting as Atsumu blearily opened his eyes. He hadn’t had a nap in years and it felt weird to actually get some rest. He rolled over to grab his phone and saw a message from his brother.
If you plan on waking up anytime soon, we’ll be down at the beach.
He groaned and opted to scroll through instagram when he got another message.
[y/n]  is here too.
He remained unmoving on his back for a moment before groaning again and rolled his eyes up towards the ceiling at the bait his twin set. Pulling on a pair of red basketball shorts and throwing on an old Stussy shirt, he made his way down to the beach.
The sound of seagulls and crashing waves greeted him as his feet hit the sand. There were yells, the sounds of laughter, and he was surprised to see a volleyball net set up nearby. His eyes flitted towards Kaori blowing Osamu a kiss from across the net and froze as he saw a familiar figure yell at her about fraternising with the enemy.
There you were, face glowing with excitement, standing at the service line and spinning a volleyball in your hands. His feet took off towards the net before he could think and his gaze was glued to you as your palm made contact with the ball.
He could practically hear your ‘tsk’ sound as Osamu dug it up and he couldn’t help but worriedly look at your ankle as you crouched low. Kaori jumped to block and his heart pounded in anticipation.
You darted out and dove, sending the ball high into the air. You scrambled to quickly get up and jogged back, your eyes following the set arching back towards you.
Atsumu unconsciously held his breath as he watched you jump, feet kicked back behind you and arm drawn back - the orange sunset behind you highlighting your form.
A malicious smile spread across your face as you found Osamu jumping up to reach over the net and you spiked against his arms.
“OUT,” his fiance screamed as the ball ricocheted off the block and outside the court.
“C’mon ‘Samu,” Atsumu heard your teasing voice. “You must be getting old if you let me score off of you like that.” You finally noticed his figure by the makeshift court and perked up. “Oh, 'Tsumu’s awake!”
He finally let out a breath when he saw you and Kaori waving excitedly at him. “Atsumu! Come join us!”
“Aw, how is that fair,” Osamu’s teammates groaned. “You guys can’t have a professional player on your team!”
“Suck it up,” you stuck a tongue out at him. “Atsumu is mine so you can’t have him.” You laughed gleefully at the protest that came from the opposing side and you playfully nudged him as he came to stand beside you at the net.
He smiled down at you for a second and as you stared into his eyes, momentarily mesmerised. He looked at you with such familiarity and warmth and you couldn’t help but shyly smile in return.
Your gaze was interrupted by a low growl.
Atsumu’s eyes flitted up to meet his twin's through the net. “Pro or not, 'Tsumu you’re going down.”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The games continued until the stars were coming out and you all settled around a fire, snacking on fruit as a reward for all the exercise. You felt the sand shift and Atsumu plopped down beside you.
“I didn’t know you played.”
You grimaced at the slight hint of betrayal in his voice.
“I can’t seem to stay away,” you laughed, repeating his words from the fountain. “I play some pickup games here and there.”
“...and you’re all healed now?”
“Yeah,” you said quietly. “I go to PT but the muscle has been healed for a while. I have to wear a brace when I play but it’s more out of caution.”
“It still creaks sometimes though,” you made a face.
“Still. It’s good to see you stand on a court again.”
You looked over and winced at the expression on his face. He had a wry smile that didn't suit his face and a distant look to his eyes.
“I’m sorry Atsumu.” His gaze remained trained towards the darkness of the ocean. “I realised I never apologised for treating you badly back then. I know it’s not an excuse, but I was angry and hurt and all I could think was to get away to protect myself. I couldn’t think about anything else - anyone else.”
A muscle flexed in his jaw. “I know. I know better than anyone but god y/n, I was there for you wasn’t I?” He couldn’t help the reproach in his voice. “And you,” he bit his lip. “You just threw me away.”
With those words, Atsumu realised what he’d been feeling since your breakup all those years ago - resentment. He felt guilty for doing so and he’d pushed it deep down but it was threatening to spill out from him now.
“‘'Samu quit playing and then you left,” he said hoarsely. “You both left me alone.”
“You had your team,” you tried to argue weakly.
“Wasn’t the same.” He shook his head, broad shoulders slumping and he tucked his knees up, resting his head on them. “And you said that you would always be there for me," he said in a small voice.
This boy - no this man - had done so much for you. Back in high school and now, he remained insistent on being by your side, even when you pushed him away.
“I’m sorry,” you repeated lamely. “I can’t thank you enough for supporting me and loving me then.”
“And I’m thankful that you’re in my life again.” You reached out a hand to cover his. His palm turned and he wrapped his fingers around yours. “I know I’m late,” you hesitated, gathering your courage before taking the plunge. “I’d like to be a part of yours again, if you’d let me.”
The blonde setter finally looked at you and his eyes crinkled in a joyful manner that suddenly made you see the image of a younger, teen Miya Atsumu - the one you had loved so much. You both felt something - as if you found a missing puzzle piece fallen on the floor - placed back into its rightful place.
“I’d like that."
Epilogue
“Relax, she said she’s running late right?” A sullen boy with raven curly hair pushed Atsumu towards the court. The stadium was already loud as people waited in anticipation for the MSBY match to start.
He nodded, repeating to himself that you indeed sent him a text earlier saying you would be late. Besides, they were just warming up. The match hadn’t started yet and there was plenty of time left.
The empty seat beside Osamu seemed to mock him as he recalled the time when he ached upon seeing it empty yet again. He shook his head as if to clear it as the whistle blew to signal the teams should start warming up their serves.
“WHOO let’s go ‘'Tsumu!”
His eyes couldn’t leave your figure, clad in his jersey, lifting both your arms in the air and shaking pom poms. He let out a smile, one goofy enough that Sakusa rolled his eyes as he mouthed an ‘i love you,’ towards the stands.
He looked away triumphantly at your stunned figure as the whistle blew, this time to signal the beginning of the match. He focused his mind toward the game giddily and cemented his resolve that they would win today.
Because the seat was finally filled. You were there.
Right where you were supposed to be.
