** insert the yearly disclaimer that everything is fine and this is just maig being an absolute sap **
hi :)) somehow, by some miracle, we have made it around to yet another anniversary, and i can say with utter disbelief and overwhelming gratitude that hidden is now SIX YEARS OLD. i feel like a damn grandmother telling y’all a story here but, when i started this place in a 2am spite fueled, sleep deprived rage, and then hit the tags that same morning at nearly 5am, never once did i look at a main and think i’d be making a six year anniversary post. that we’d even stay open for that long, that this would grow to be… bigger than me, bigger than the team or hidden  itself. hidden is a home to so many, a place where people can be themselves and find a community together, and that has everything to do with all of YOU.
the members who have been here for 6 days, or 6 years, those who have been here and poured their hearts out onto the dash, who have been here just to play a joke character.. the members who have come and gone, the members who are here now, all of you are the reason hidden is the way that it is. you all have created this incredible community with each other, that sometimes all i can do is just sit back and admire all of you. the way everyone has been so welcoming and warm to every new person who has joined, that you all have welcomed people in with open arms and genuinely like ?? no prompting from us ?? just from being yourselves. not only is this a home, a true real home in such a difficult world, but god the TALENT ??? i have never seen such amazing writing, or editing, the absolute joy you all have in writing your characters comes across so easily, the support you all have for each other. the events that we have, i don’t think could ever be pulled off with another group. i truly am sitting here just consistently in awe of all of you. i really could not do this without all of you here, you are the heart of hidden. the warmth in this place, the joy, the backbone, everything is you, friends. thank you for allowing me to be your head admin, allowing me to be utterly odd and strange and still loving me the way i love all of you, thank you for supporting this team, and this place. thank you for all the time and energy you put in here, and know that it does not go unnoticed. truly, just thank you.
and now, for 5 people’s absolute favorite time of the year, the moment when i gush like a proud mom about my admin team. please allow me to highlight these people, to lift them up for everything that they do, to show them the gratitude i truly hope they feel every other day of the year. sunny: gotta always start with you, my day one, the other half of my brain. i don’t know what i would do without you, genuinely. hidden would absolutely not be here today without you, without your support of me and my absolute batshit ramblings that i send in your dms, the way you have been able to look at a situation and calm it down with just one message.. for being the voice of reason that i need, for being the best friend i could ask for. finding each other wasn’t an accident and i’m so glad that i have gotten to know you through this weird fucking hobby and found so many more to share with you. also?? thank you for being there during my wedding, for keeping my head on straight that day. i love you so much. ♥ jodie, i just fucking love you fam,  the absolute heart of the team. you are one of the kindest, most fiercely loving person i have ever met. if someone is struggling, i know you are right there to offer any kind of help you can (even if it's biting someone). you are always the one who i know will be there to have someone’s back, to support everyone when they need it. and i hope you know that that goes both ways. you are so loved on this team, thank you for all the research you do, thank you for taking all the marvel questions, for being the other teacher of my star wars school, for always laughing with me when we’re about to do something utterly ridiculous to get us yelled at. i am just so thankful for you, and i know i would’ve gone nuts if i didn’t have you here making me laugh. kasey, my player 2 (or i’m player 2?? idk), my bluetooth connected bitch. i swear people think us being the same person different fonts sometimes is a bit, and really it’s not. our shared braincell just doesn’t know how to function alone. thank you for always being there when i need to vent, for being able to offer a kind way of telling me to chill tf out, for being my platonic life partner. i know you hate the sappiness but i just need you to know that i couldn’t do this without you either. also a quick thank you for also being there during my wedding, for allowing me to be unapologetically myself and keeping me calm and laughing during all the insanity that was going on that week. just thank you. really, i love you so much, bitch, i won’t make you suffer with being loved on more.
aria, the actual owner of the braincell, the powerhouse of fc suggestions and research. your knowledge and ability to find suggestions and solutions to complex situations always has me in awe. i know when i see you typing in the chat, we’re going to get an answer, a solution or something new to consider that helps us fix whatever is going on. you truly are the reason things get solved around here. and also thank you for being the other face on the main, the way that you and ollie clear the inbox so fast always has me dumbfounded. and thank you for every check you have done, every moment you have spent here with us. i hope you know when i see little guys in shows, i always go “oh aria would love them”. your icons in the chat / your names always have me dying. you’re truly so fucking funny fam, the comments you make in dnd take me out. i just hope you know how loved and appreciated you are. thank you for being my friend, i love you a lot. and ollie, i don’t know what the fuck we would do without you. seriously, like only a year and a half in and you are ???? the reason the main gets cleared out most days. i don’t know how you do it, one moment it’s full and the next the entire mains cleared, the pages are updated, you and aria are working through their list of fixes and the entire check is done (INCLUDING MY PARTS :(( ). despite all of our teasing about changing the password on you, i hope you know that none of the work that you do EVER goes unappreciated. i also am just so glad that i have gotten to know you better over the past year and a half, that since you joined the team i am so glad that i get to call you my friend. also, i always know when i send a new frog, you’ll come in yelling about loving them and it always makes me smile. you’re so loved by me and the team. thank you for everything. okay, i’m done now.
i’m making myself stfu friends i promise. just, hidden you have no idea how utterly blessed we are to have these five as our admin team. i know i barely even know sometimes, because fuck i couldn’t do this without them. i just am so filled with love and appreciation for every single one of you, those who are here now, and those who may be lurking and have come and gone. know i love you all. and just THANK YOU. it is the greatest joy and blessing in my life to call myself your head admin. thank you for making hidden your home. here’s to SIX FUCKING YEARS and all the ones after it!

i have small hope for macden because i feel like sunny writers room brains would go Wouldn’t it be funny if two of the characters who sucked absolute ass and have had terrible times of strain were actually healthier in a romantic relationship than the other people they hang out with… but i also believe they think it’s not as funny as fucking it up sooo bad, if they ever made it canon. this is the plight of A Sunny Loser
yeah i mean again i still think that since they went thru the trouble of bringing back the Cat In The Wall metaphor from Break Up in s15 and having Dennis' arc echo a lot of the same beats as Mac's storylines in HOHC, MFHP, Mac Day, etc. makes me think there's something being set up here... Which isn't even mentioning the more obvious Brokeback refs including Den breaking his fuckin back on a mountain at the very end and caring a little too much about a tattoo on Mac's body that he wouldn't be seein unless he's already seeing/planning on seeing Mac's upper thigh on a regular basis it's.. just... if they don't do shit in s16 i'll be fuckin confused. but i feel like the girls have said that since Foreverrrr so idk! I do agree i think rcg are def scared of botching the storyline cuz again if they didn't care about botching it they would've done something with it already, and they nearly did botch it with DDL.. and I remember while they were writing s15 last year Rob mentioned his desire but how difficult it was to specifically bring a gay man into the writer's room so I feel like part of the feet dragging is coming from a place of good intention since Rob has a whole 'i gotta do right by the gays' thing lmao. but that being said I feel like they have written Mac/Den well already, so they just need to have a little faith in themselves LOL. If they're just afraid of failure the whole time it'll come thru in the writing n it won't be good. They gotta have some confidence in what they're writing and that itself has a lot of pull.
I personally think that they should just go for it because it'd be a way to freshen up the dynamics (esp if they are really gonna keep going for a few more seasons or possibly indefinitely) while still keeping it consistent. A lot of people seem to think that Mac/Den getting together would 'ruin the show' or forsake the formula... But I feel like both the s14/s15 finales had a very 'fuck our original formula' subtext to 'em anyway. And also I personally miss Macden's dynamic being like it was in Manhunters/Frank's Pretty Woman/Dines Out... Eps like that show that just bc MacDen are happy together doesn't make them better people so it'd still fit with Sunny's overall 'this is a show about bad people' motto. And I think it wouldn't be THAT different if they were overtly out and in a relationship cuz they have been written to have romantic subtext n sexual tension right along anyway. It's just been a matter of rcg going back and forth on whether to have the characters themselves realize that and embrace it or not. Cuz we see even in eps like 'Jumper' and 'Big Mo' that rcg have concluded that always just playing it safe and sticking to the formula or "the algorithm" is less satisfying than writing to what feels more satisfying in a story. I believe MFHP was kinda a major turning point for them and also worked as a sorta "dry run" for how a MacDen storyline might play with audiences.
But again, who knows! It seems like they're having fun in the writer's room so far at least, and so we'll have to wait n see what that means for MacDen's stryline if anything when we get there LOLLLL.

August
WC: <4100
Mentions: Sexual innuendos, cursing, slut-shaming, Affairs/Adultery, Lying, Deceit
A/N: It’s an AU, basically where James and Lily don’t end up together, and the War ends before they graduate. Snape and Peter don’t become death eaters IG but that doesn’t really matter later on. Unedited, but it’s the last day of August so I gotta get it in NOW.
Pairings: James Potter x Reader, James Potter x Lily Evans, (future) Lily Evans x Reader

Salt air
*
You and your boyfriend of two months are sitting on the shoreline of the shared beach near your houses. You’ve lived in the same neighbourhood for as long as you can remember, but never really noticed each other until your formative years. And the chemistry was undeniable, which is what led you to that precise moment.
“Hey, James… What do you think is going to happen when we go away for school?” you ask meekly.
Being a Beauxbaton student is as luxurious as it sounds. You never have to put up with brutish and grotesque boys in pissing contests, and while there may be catty classmates, there’s no fighting over boys. No heartbreak. No major drama.
That being said, that didn’t mean that none of you had boyfriends. You all had your fair share of suitors from Durmstrang or Hogwarts or some other school in the country. And yours was James Potter.
He is the epitome of a perfect boyfriend. He remembers small dates, like the exact day your cat died, and knows exactly what you need.
You don’t think you’ve loved anyone as much as you’ve loved him.
And that’s precisely why you’re so afraid to lose him.
You knew that the long distance between you would be difficult. What started as a summer fling quickly became something more, and James changed from a friend who could make you laugh your guts out to the boy that makes your heart sing.
He has his arms wrapped around you like a comforting blanket, and you know exactly what he’s thinking. The distance isn’t going to change my love for you.
But he doesn’t realize that it’ll change the amount he can express. And that’s going to be frustrating. You’ve only been together for a little while. So how would this even work?
“We just have to trust each other, darling. I love you, and you love me. That’s all that matters.”
“But James-”
“No buts,” he states stoically. “Nothing is going to change this. You just need to trust me, trust that this is going to work.”
James
*
And the rust on your door
*
He had told you exactly what he meant. That he loved you, and that you could trust him. He knew that he loved you, and that love had taken root in the deepest part of his heart. So when he opened the door to Sirius, Remus, and Peter’s room, since he would not be staying here this year, he not only felt excitement for the new year but sheer happiness at the fact that he had found someone who loved him as unconditionally as he loved her. He did feel some remorse that he wouldn’t be staying with his gaggle of mates though.
“Mate, what’s that grin on your face for? Haven’t gotten in any trouble without us, have you?”
Apparently, James’ inner monologue reflected on his face because all his friends were made aware of the grin on his face.
“No, I just…”
He’d managed to keep the relationship a secret from Sirius that summer because you didn’t want the already confusing relationship to be found out by the Wizarding World. For reporters to make it more convoluted and twisted than it actually was.
“I’m just glad to be back,” he says, deciding he needs to discuss with you if he could tell his friends about your relationship just yet.
*
I never needed anything more
*
When he saw Lily in classes the next day, a pang swam through his chest. He didn’t see her yesterday on the train. He wasn’t focusing on that. But now he was. He noticed that her red hair had been cut short to her shoulders and that she appeared much more confident. Her school blouse had the first two buttons popped, showing just the slightest bit of rosy cleavage.
No.
He had promised you that you could trust him, and you could. He knew you could. He was going to be the man that you deserved. Lily was in the past. Lily was a speed bump on his path to finding true love with you.
But why did the way he felt about Lily now feel as strongly as it did before?
And it didn’t help any when she waltzed up to his desk and straightened her arms right in front of his face, pushing out her chest, and making his lust and sexual drive soar. He was sure it was evident. That he’d broken out in a sweat, but he attempted to play it off as cool as an Autumn day.
“Hello James,” she greeted. “How was your summer?”
He gulped. In front of his eyes was a woman, the woman that he had wanted so desperately. He didn’t know her intentions, but he knew his thoughts. And if you could see his thoughts, could hear them… he knew you wouldn’t be pleased. He knew you’d realize that you’d been right in not trusting him. “Summer was fine, Lily-flower. And you? Hang around with Snivelly, any?”
“No, we haven’t talked since the end of last year. But I’m thinking that this is more room for opportunity, to make new friends, see the light, you know?” she grinned and it lit up his heart.
“So, I was talking to Remus, and he told me that I should give you a chance to be one of those new friends,” but the way she said friends implied something more. “And at first, I objected, and then I realized, I never really gave you much light in my eyes. Do you think you could change that, Jamesie?”
And fuck, if that didn’t make his heart race a little.
Lily
*
Whispers of "Are you sure?"
*
Lily and James were kissing passionately and furiously as they stumbled into her bedroom. Since becoming head girl, she had gotten her own dorm room. James had also gotten one, but Lily didn’t want to see how messy that room was.
She moved her hands from in between their two bodies and picked up her wand to cast several different nonverbal charms.
When she was done, she pushed James down onto the bed and began tearing off her clothes. And then his. When she was done and they were lying beside each other he muttered a final “are you sure?” to her, and she nodded. He kissed her with ferocious passion until the kiss became something more.
This happened again, again, again.
*
"Never have I ever before"
*
When James left Lily’s room for the fourth time that month, she pressed two fingers to her lips in reaction to his goodbye kiss.
“I’ve never felt this way about James. About anyone,” she thought.
He made her feel alive, he made her grin, he made her giggle, and he made her heart flutter when he was around her. Of course, she knew this when she approached him. She just didn’t think it would escalate to this level so soon.
She wants to shout to the world the way she feels about him, the way he makes her feel. How he can take her breath away and make her feel like the most important and most special girl on the planet.
Like she was made just and entirely for him, and that the same applied for him to her.
She couldn’t stop her wild dreams, the ones of vivid love and passion, the ones where he would kiss her, take her hand, and profess his love in grand displays. Where he’d fight for her and never leave her.
Fantasy and delusion never left her mind when it came to him.
*
Your back beneath the sun
*
He and she both lie underneath the sun, soaking up its rays, sharing its warmth, staring at the clouds trying to make out certain shapes.
It was a sunny December day, which was rare, so they were getting as much out of it as they could.
“James, we should study,” she lightly approached the devastating topic. “It’s not like I really want to, but what kind of example are we setting as head boy and girl?”
“Well, If we go back up to our dorms, nobody will know if we’re studying or doing something else,” he said with a wriggle of eyebrows.
“No, James!” she laughs, and he joins her. His pearly teeth both ensnaring her mind and rendering her unable to focus on anything but him.
“When’s the next Hogsmeade trip?” he asked casually while he laid back down with his head facing the sky.
“Most likely before the holidays.”
She saw his face contort when she mentioned the Christmas break.
“James, what’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing, I’m just thinking about… the war.” His face was pale, and his face sour.
“I’m thinking of joining the order after I graduate, but it’s still scary, you know. I’m worried about my mum and dad.”
“Your parents are going to be fine, James,” she assured him, but she knew he would be fully relieved until the war was over and all death eaters were locked up.
*
Wishin' I could write my name on it
*
She was sitting with Remus in the library when he brought up James. Let the record show that he brought up James, not her.
“So, how is everything going with James?”
She sighed lightly. “It’s magic, Remus. Pun intended.”
He chuckled. “I’m glad you feel that way, Lily. Really, he’s a good guy once you get past that facade he puts on. I knew you’d like him.”
“Yes,” she says faintly. Doubts flood her head about his own feelings.
“What’s wrong, Lily?”
Her eyes turn down to her paper before reaching up again to meet his. “It’s silly, but… sometimes I wonder if he truly feels the same. I mean, most people don’t harbour feelings for one person for this long. What if all along it was just lust, and he’ll cast me away now that he’s satisfied that urge.”
“Lily, I promise you, James has had eyes for no one but you for many years. I highly doubt that it was lust, James isn’t like that.”
“You know,” she smiled. “You’re right. I just wish this didn’t have to be kept so hush-hush. The amount of girls I see fawning over him is grotesque.”
“So then ask him,” he pushed.
She took that as a challenge. “Alright. I will!”
*
The next time Lily saw James, they immediately rolled into bed and did what lovers do. But after that is when she posed the question.
“James, would we- will we ever be able to make this public?” she asked in a stern voice.
She saw thoughts swimming in his head for a moment.
“Lily,” he rolled onto his side. “We- I… This needs to be a secret for now. I mean, we are waist-deep into this war, and with my plans to go into the order, I can’t risk anyone coming after you.”
His logic made sense to her, and the wizarding world would get too caught up with the son of a prestigious wizard family being with a muggle-born in the middle of all of this.
He was right, she just had to swallow her jealousy for now.
*
Will you call when you’re back at school
*
The next week, there was a Hogsmeade trip, and despite them staying near the Marauders, really, it was a date for James and Lily. Or at least that’s what it felt like. An unofficial date.
They bought each other gifts to open over the holidays, kissed discreetly under mistletoes, and held hands while walking through the village.
When they went to get butterbeer for the rest of the group, there was a long but comfortable silence for a while.
“So what are you doing for the holidays?”
“Just going back home, maybe making some treats with my mum,” he said casually. “What about you?”
“Same as you, I guess. I’ll miss you, though.”
“I’ll miss you too.”
She tapped her foot absentmindedly as they waited. “What if I came with you?”
“What?” Panic flooded his face. “No, you couldn’t come with me, I’m afraid. My house is an Order safe place. If a death eater found it, you could be in danger.”
“You’re in danger just being there.”
“And you’re in danger by just breathing, Lily! That would be a double danger. I’m not risking that.”
She cringed at her sudden need to be close to him. “Right, sorry. It was a silly idea. A mindless thought.”
His face softened when he saw her embarrassment. “I’d love to bring you home, Lily, but it’s not safe.” But by now she could tell that he was lying, there was something more.
*
I remember thinkin' I had you
*
On the train back from London going to Hogwarts, Lily sat with Marlene and Dorcas, she hadn't seen them quite as much as she would’ve wanted since the school year started, and now was the perfect opportunity.
Lily felt remorse and guilt for not telling her friends about such a crucial part of her life, her relationship with James Potter, and truly she wanted to, but what if they judged her? And Marlene has had a reputation for having a loudmouth. What if she said something and word got out?
They conversed in idle gossip before an interesting topic was brought up. One that left Lily infuriated, and ready to murder a smug bastard.
“Have you heard about Potter and that Beauxbaton girl?”
Her eyes raised in curiosity and scorn. “What Beauxbaton girl?”
Dorcas revealed as much as she knew about you to Lily, your name, family, status in the Wizarding World. By the time she was done, Lily was struck with disbelief.
“And you’re sure they were kissing?” she said in response to Marlene’s information about the article in the Daily Prophet with a picture of them kissing.
“Yes!” she exclaimed.
“I have the article right here,” Dorcas mentioned.
“Way to bury the lead.”
“Oh shush,” she said and handed Lily the newspaper out of her bag.
She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. The man she had been with for the past four months was kissing another woman. With Tongue.
“Well, that’s fantastic for him,” she said sourly. “He must feel so proud to have gotten a pretty girlfriend after pining after me for so long. I wonder how long it’ll be before he tries pining after me again,”
“Who knows, maybe it is serious,” Dorcas proposed.
Lily growled. “I don’t think it’s that serious if he’s sleeping with another woman.”
Marlene’s eyes widened. “You don’t mean-”
“Excuse me, I’ll be right back,” she said before exiting the cabin of the train and heading to find James Potter.
“So,” she said when she reached his compartment. “How long have you been seeing her?”
James looked shocked to see her. “Lily, I can explain.”
“Can you? Please explain then. Is this why I couldn’t come with you? Why you had to keep us a secret James? For Godric’s sake, how long have you been seeing her?”
He gulped. “Since the summer.” Even Sirius looked shocked.
“I lived in your house, and you didn’t tell me, mate?”
“Not the time,” Peter chastised.
“Are you serious James? You spouted all of that you love me bullshit when you were with someone else?” Her eyes radiated anger. It was like staring into the mouth of an actively-fire-breathing dragon. “Does she know about me?”
“No, she doesn’t,” he admitted.
Lily said one more sentence before stalking away. “Well, you better tell her, or I will.”
*
But I can see us lost in the memory
*
Lily had no intention of telling you anything. She didn’t even know you. How would she send an owl to a total stranger and tell them that their boyfriend has been cheating on them with herself?
Lily never set out to be a homewrecker. But she didn’t even know she was wrecking a home, to begin with.
This was James’ fault, and he was going to own up to it.
Besides, It deserved to come from him. Lily knew how she felt about being told that she was the other woman from some outside source, and she didn’t want to do that to anyone at all.
But not even the sting of betrayal could mask the ever-flowing sadness that emanated from Lily. She truly believed he was in love. And maybe he was. Just not with her. And that was okay, but she didn’t deserve what she was put through.
Still, that doesn’t stop the fact that she, herself, was in love with him, and how is she supposed to ever get over that betrayal.
*
August slipped away into a moment in time- 'Cause it was never mine
*
Within the next few months, Lily had fallen into a rut. Her grades began slipping, her mood and cheeriness faltered. Even though the Wizarding World War had recently been won, with death-eaters being locked away, that didn’t change her mood, because she wasn’t in the mood to celebrate, to begin with. Her friends noticed her down-in-the-dumps aura, and despite knowing the cause, and how it wasn’t their fault, they couldn’t help but want to help her, to fix her.
But no one could repair the damage that James Potter caused to Lily but Lily herself. And that started with making amends.
“I have to send a follow-up letter to that girl. So I’ll ask you. Have you told her yet?” She cornered James in the library because, despite Head Boy and Head Girl duties, they didn’t see each other much. After all, he was avoiding her as much as she was avoiding him.
He gulped, “I haven’t. Lily, I can’t tell her. It would kill her, she was so worried about the distance and when she saw me at Christmas break, she was so happy. I don’t want to ruin that.”
“You should’ve thought about that before you started an affair with me, James. An affair I didn’t agree to. I didn’t want to be anybody's mistress. And she deserves to know, and I am going to send her a letter. Today! So if you don’t tell her, she will find out from me. I’ve given you months.”
“Lily, don’t do this. Please. I can’t tell her over an owl. It has to be in person.”
She faltered. He was right. His heart may have been in the wrong place, but his head is in the right one. Doing that, telling you over an owl could have devastating consequences. It was a discussion that had to be had in person.
“Easter Break. That is your chance, James Potter. After that, If you don’t I will.”
She turned on her heel and was about to leave the library when he grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
“Lily, you have to understand, I never meant to hurt you,” he said. “I have fancied you for so long, and when you finally reciprocated this year, I didn’t want to pass up that chance. I was wrong. You are so amazing, and I shouldn’t have done what I did, but please believe this. You deserve so much, and I couldn’t and could never give that to you, but when I did this, I never meant to hurt anyone. I didn’t think it would go this far.”
She scoffed. “Well, it did, James. You hurt me. You betrayed me, and you betrayed her. Neither of us deserved that, no matter what.”
*
And I can see us twisted in bedsheets
*
Guilt twisted in her stomach every time she thought of you. Jealousy was surely a stage at first, everything about you had her enchanted, your hair, your eyes, your glowing skin. She was enthralled, and she could see why James was too.
And then she remembered his nights in her dorm, on her bed. Tossing and turning with her, his lips on her mouth, and she didn’t feel envy. She felt regret and culpability. If she had pressed James harder about whether his feelings really were the same as before, if he’d really wanted to do this, maybe he wouldn’t have done it.
And then she wouldn’t be in this position, and you wouldn’t be about to come crash-landing on impact with this heavy, and taboo truth.
But this wasn’t about her, Lily realized. This was about you. And how you were going to feel once James told you what happened when the train meets the station, and that is all Lily can think of as she sits on her bed, staring out of her window. When her owl knocks on the window to deliver her mail, the headline of the Daily Prophet is what catches her eye. “The Prodigal son in an affair with a Muggleborn witch!” It goes on and on about how a secret inside source heard an argument between the two of them in the Hogwarts library.
There is no doubt that you have seen this, and James didn’t get to tell you. Lily didn’t get to apologize to you. This just got a whole lot worse, and Lily didn’t know how she was going to deal with the sudden turn of events.
James is the villain here, she reminded herself. James is in the wrong, but she knew that she was still an unwitting accomplice. And her gut wrenched as she pondered on that very true fact.
*
August slipped away like a bottle of wine
*
Lily had to get away from the wizarding world, so although she didn’t plan on going home for the Easter holiday, she had to now.
She was being shamed for her insidious relationship with James, by certain people, mostly Snape and his friends, that bastard. Most everyone was supportive, they realized she had no idea about your relationship, but she was still worried about what you’d say to James, but more about what’d you’d say about her.
Had James told you that she didn’t know? That he lied to both of you. Would you be mad at her either way?
Shame pulsed through her body, and she couldn’t imagine what her mother would say when she told her if she ever did.
Though when she got home, her mother instantly noticed that something was wrong.
Knowing she couldn’t take her mothers knowing stares and hard gaze, she instantly confessed to everything that happened over the semester. Her mother didn’t judge her for having premarital sex as Lily thought she would, but rather comforted her daughter and reassured her. “If James is a half-decent person, he will tell her that you did nothing wrong, and she won’t be mad at you, Lily dear.”
Her mother's reassurance helped, but her rose bush of worry wouldn’t be clear of its thorns until she spoke with you.
*
'Cause you were never mine
*
When the break was over, and Lily was about to board the train station to the red engine that is the Hogwarts Express, someone was waiting for her at the door to the train.
“My train doesn’t arrive until later,” you say plainly. “I wanted to get here earlier though, to speak with you.”
Lily feels like she’s breaking out in hives under your eyes, and it’s not a good feeling.
“James told me about how you didn’t know about me, how you wanted him to tell me sooner, didn’t want me to find out from tabloids like you did.” You smiled at her.
“It really hurt me when I found out. I didn’t want you to feel that way, but you still deserved to know. I’m just sorry you found out like that anyway.”
“James already boarded the train, but I wanted to let you know we’re no longer together if you still wanted to be with him,” you said meekly.
Lily’s eyes grew to the size of saucers. “Godric, no! He’s a git.”
You laughed.
“I know we may not be able to be friends, but maybe it’ll be better if we work through all of this together, all three of us,” Lily proposed.
“Yes, individually, dually, all together, doesn’t matter, it needs to be resolved.”
Lily sighed a breath of relief. “Somehow, I feel lighter.”
“Me too.”
As Lily was about to board the train, you called out to her. “Lily!”
She whipped her head to face you. “We can be friends if you’d like, you know.”
That made Lily smile, and honestly, it made her heart bloom with a vague, but familiar feeling.

Modern Soulmate AU | Watanabe
Tumblr media
M O D E R N   S O U L M A T E   A U   |   W A T A N A B E
-- You see in black and white until you meet your soulmate. --
There have been violent protests for days now and this morning graced us with a magnitude 5.9 earthquake. Suffice to say I’m feeling a little ~shooketh~ (pardon the pun; I’ll show myself out haha).
Anyway, I’ve been writing a lot of angst lately and wanted a change of pace. I love the idea of soulmates, so here’s an AU featuring university professor Watanabe. I’m super tired at the time of this posting so grammatical tenses are all over the place. I’m sorry. I zoned out so hard during this that it’s half stream of consciousness lmao.
Also, it’s in dot-point format because I have no time to write it into an actual oneshot *cry* Also, if anyone cares, here’s what I have planned for future instalments in this series:
CEO Lee | Secretary Reader
Pop singer Kamui | Backup dancer Reader
W A T A N A B E   |   U N I V E R S I T Y   P R O F E S S O R
Watanabe has seen in faded colours since the start of the semester. He knows his soulmate is a student, but doesn’t know who.
It’s not until you stay behind to ask him a question that it happens. He turns to you and his world bursts into riotous technicolour. Your world explodes into colour, blues and greens and yellows beyond your wildest dreams.
For a moment, both of you just stare at each other. Watanabe is speechless, blown away by the colour in your cheeks and the light in your eyes. You’re backlit by the soft afternoon sun and all he can think of is how beautiful you are.
You’ve always considered Watanabe handsome but unattainable. You’d always figured someone like him would be taken. All the good ones were.
But now, he was your soulmate. The knowledge feels impossible and knocks the very breath out of you.
“It’s you,” Watanabe breathes, so quietly you barely hear him. His hand reaches out. Long fingers are inches from your face when he seems to remember himself. He drops his hand. Clearing his throat, he asks you how he can help.
You’re so shocked at the blazing colour of the world that you’ve forgotten your question. “N-Nevermind, professor. I’ve gotta go.” Heart hammering and face flaming, you rush from the room as fast as you can.
The next few weeks are super awkward. You’re not sure how to talk to Watanabe and he seems to be avoiding you. He rushes out after every lecture and doesn’t meet your eye. Even though your world looks so beautiful now, it feels grayer than ever.
Watanabe feels miserable and impossibly conflicted. He wants to get to know you, to hold you and kiss you. Knowing you were out there alone was a pain he could hardly bear.
“You’re kidding,” Bruce says over beer one day. He eyes his lonely friend. “Keep it secret, Watanabe, but you have to do something. This doesn’t just happen to anyone, you know.”
You stopped going to lectures, unable to stand the reality of Watanabe purposefully ignoring you. Was it because you were a student? Or… did he have someone else? The very possibility of another woman filled your heart with envy.
Noticing your absence, Watanabe grew concerned. He was a university professor, after all. Regardless of whatever bond connected the both of you, you were still his student.
He reached out to you via email. Y/N, I haven’t seen you in lectures lately. Is everything okay?
Your response was curt. Thank you for checking in, professor. I’m fine, just been feeling a bit unwell lately.
Guilt shot through Watanabe. It seemed it was your turn to avoid him. He knew he deserved it. His heart ached. Bruce was right. Something had to be done. I see. I don’t want you to fail the subject.  I think we should have a catch up over coffee to discuss your progress.
Your heart skipped a beat. Was Watanabe asking you out on a date? Or were you reading way too much into it? Regardless, you dressed well. The day was bright, warm and sunny. You’d grown used to the brilliant colours, but still took immense pleasure in seeing the autumn leaves fall.
He was dressed in a casual button down and slacks, long hair knotted at the back of his head. Handsome without trying, as usual. You eyed him warily. He’d made his intentions clear so far. You didn’t want to start off on the wrong foot. Still, something in you ached for his touch. You tore your eyes from his lips.
Watanabe admired you. He hadn’t been able to stop thinking about you, but seeing you again up close, he was taken aback by your eyes. “You came,” he says simply. “Of course,” you reply casually. “I don’t want to fail the subject, after all.”
Watanabe quirks a smile. “I’d certainly hope not.” The two of you sit down. The conversation is initially focused on your academics and all the content you’d have to catch up on. However, it soon spirals into something else. You make him laugh, a deep rumble that kindles something in your soul. He possesses a sharp intellect that you’re desperately attracted to. Time passes in the blink of an eye.
“I should go,” you say, gathering up your things as the sun is setting. The sky is overcast, pregnant with heavy clouds threatening rain. “Yeah,” he agrees. “My bad.”
“No,” you counter boldly. “My pleasure.” His eyes widen, but he looks away. He says nothing, but the disapproving frown tells you enough. Your smile fades. “Watanabe...What is this?” His answer is bitter. “Wrong,” he says.
Hurt and anger burn in your chest. “Wrong?” you echo. You point to your eyes. “You think this is wrong?” You slap your palm to your chest. Your voice breaks. “You think this is wrong?”
“No,” he growls, frustrated. “Never. But I’m a professor and you’re a student. I can’t take advantage of you.”
“You’re not taking advantage of me! This is meant to be! I-Is there someone else?”
He stares at you in disbelief. “No, of course not. I just...can’t.” You bite your lip. “I can’t bear to be around you,” you say softly. Raindrops splatter onto the pavement. “I’m going now.”
You turn from him and walk into the pouring rain. Watanabe runs after you. “At least let me take you home. You walked here, right?” You keep walking, trying to ignore the magnetic pull of him. “I’m fine.”
“Dammit woman,” he says, voice low. He grabs you by the arm and forces you to face him. You have to look up to see his face. “Why are you being so difficult?”
Something in you cracks. “Because,” you say heatedly. “I can’t bear to be around you! To want you so much it hurts. To want to touch you and kiss you and be beside you. To know that you’d rather be alone than with me!”
“That’s not true!” he roars back at you. “I want you. So much. I want to leave my marks on you and make you my woman. But I can’t! People will judge you and I won’t allow that.”
“Fuck them,” you reply. “You’re just a coward, Watanabe.”
His hold on you loosens in shock. You take the opportunity to break away. The sky was black now and the rain showed no signs of relenting. You hated how brightly the moon shone and how beautiful the night was under her silver touch.
Suddenly, a hand pulled you back. Lips touched yours, warm and velvet soft. Watanabe kissed you deeply. His tongue snuck into your mouth, twining with yours like long-lost lovers. His hand curled into your hair. The other encircled your waist, pulling you flush against him.
Reluctantly, he pulled back, resting his forehead against yours. His breathing was heavy. “I’m not a coward,” he whispered in your ear. “I just don’t want you to suffer because of me. Others might not understand. They might attack you. I don’t want you to hate me.”
“I could never,” you answer softly. “Never, Watanabe.”
The two of you made it back to his car. But it was a good deal later into the night that you returned home…

Read part 1 here
I woke up at 10 am, fully clothed with a fully clothed Sheamus sleeping soundly next to me. His back was facing me and I watched his body fall and rise slowly, entranced by the freckles that dusted the pale skin I could see.
What the hell did I do?! I kissed him and he spent the night in my bed! I scrubbed a hand over my face before realizing that there was no use trying to take all this in. Whatever, at least we didn’t have sex.
I decided to try to act as normal about this as I possibly could- I wasn’t attached, we never did anything. I got up out of bed and headed straight for the bathroom.
Sheamus awoke to a comfortable bed that was not his own. He rolled onto his back and caught a glimpse of me brushing my teeth in my bathroom.
Ah could get used to this. A satisfied smile graced his face as he laid on his back, his arms behind his head. She looked different than any other girl ah see in the morning. If ah’m being honest, ah don’t stay long enough to see much of ‘em after ah’ve seen all of them.
Here ah am, though, laying in my jeans in the bed of the girl ah used to like in high school. The girl who never picked up on my flirting, never realized that there was another reason ah wanted only her to edit my essays. The girl who always smelled like citrus. She smelled like citrus last night at the bar too. Maybe that's what fucked with my head.
Sheamus turned onto his side to catch a glimpse of the clock on his phone, 10:05 am. At this point, ah would have been long gone. A girl sometimes likes to stay so I usually never have a one night stand at my place. Ah have to stop comparing… this isn’t a one night stand. She’s different.
Sheamus turned onto his other side and watched me brush my teeth.
She’s wearin’ the clothes she wore last night, her jeans and tight black top.
Looks a lot like a one night stand.
“G’morning, y/n.” He spoke from the bed. It startled me slightly but I don’t think he noticed. I rinsed my mouth before walking back into the bedroom. I wasn’t wearing any makeup and my hair looked kinda messy. I felt comfortable, I didn’t feel the need to not show my face until I looked presentable.
For a second, it looked like she was mine.
She’s not yours, lad. Don’t get all screwed up now.
“Good morning, Sheamus.” You would think this would be super awkward, but it wasn’t. There was a comfortable silence as both of us searched for the right words to say but we both came up short. After I realized that we weren’t gonna say much, I turned to my closet and slipped off my black shirt, revealing the black bra underneath.
“Is someone ready to sleep with me now?” Sheamus teased, sitting up in the bed. I didn’t have anything witty to say so I simply unclasped my bra and let it fall down my arms. His breath hitched as his eyes raked over my figure. I’m sure he was praying for me to turn around, but I didn’t. I grabbed a crew neck sweatshirt from the closet and slipped it over my head.
Sheamus couldn’t help the disappointment that filled him as he watched me slip the large sweatshirt over my figure.
“Do you want some breakfast?” I asked before taking off my jeans and slipping on pink pajama pants. Sheamus looked shocked and I explained myself. “I’m sure you don’t usually stay for breakfast but you’re still here and I’m hungry.”
Sheamus smiled before climbing out of bed. I wanted to act smug but I couldn’t, I was too busy staring at him as he got out of the bed and stood before me. His arms were muscular and defined and I could see his abs through the thin white fabric he was wearing-- butterflies shot to my stomach and I felt heat between my legs. Oh my fucking god, I gotta get out of here. I walked out of the room before he could see my face get red.
Sheamus emerged from my room a couple minutes later, he was holding his shirt and placing things back in the pocket. A travel sized toothbrush and deodorant. “You’re kidding. You bring travel-sized toiletries to your hookups?”
Sheamus looked at me with a weird expression. “Yeah, I also always have an extra condom, some people like mornin’ sex.” He said it so simply and he stared at me like I was the crazy one. “Ah’m like a boy scout, y/n, always prepared.” I laughed at him before handing him a paper plate with an egg sandwich on it.
“I hope you like sunny side up, I forgot to ask.” I told him, while carrying my plate to the small wooden table in my apartment.
“Don’t worry, ah like everythin’.” Even that sounded seductive, he either meant it to be or I was going absolutely mad.
We didn’t talk about anything important as we ate, just random, comfortable, small talk. Somewhere during our conversation, something clicked in Sheamus’ head. “Y/n, I know ya keep brushing this off, but I really do like ya.” He paused and my mind raced. He didn’t let me speak though, the next thing he said seemed to answer my fears. “Ah’m not just sayin’ it cause I want to sleep with ya, ah’m sayin it because ah was more content just sleepin’ next to ya than ah’ve ever been sleepin’ with any girl.” I was silent. My mind went blank. “Ah haven’t felt this way in a long time.”
“Who made you feel it before?” I asked quietly, my eyes looking downward at my coffee. I don’t really know why I asked it, it kinda just came out.
“You. In high school.” My eyes shot open, but he kept talking. “Ah had the biggest crush on ya, why do ya think I asked you to edit my papers every day?”
“Well I thought you needed help writing. You always did make the same mistakes though,” I paused as the pieces fell together in my head. “Oh my god. Sheamus, did you just make stupid mistakes in your essays so I would help you?” He nodded. “Why didn’t you tell me in high school? I always liked you too.” Now it was his turn to open his eyes in shock. “Why do you think I helped you? You were so charming and you seemed so helpless.” There was hope behind his eyes. Snap out of it. “But that doesn’t mean anything now. I don’t want to sleep with you no matter how much you might like me.” The hopeful glow behind his eyes disappeared.
“Ah don’t wanna just sleep with ya. I wanna be with ya.”
That was worse. Does he say this to all the girls he deems difficult assignments? I couldn’t trust him, I wanted to but I couldn’t. My stomach was doing flips as I imagined being with him. Waking up with him every morning and spending long nights in his arms- but that would never happen. He’s lying.
I couldn’t hide the skepticism on my face. He saw it but didn’t say anything more, I don’t know how he expected me to believe him. I wanted to be serious but I couldn’t make anything serious come out, “Well, if you want me that bad you’ll have to prove it.” I was hoping to say something along the lines of ‘Sheamus I can’t trust you and you know that.’
“Ah can prove it, y/n. Ah promise ah can.” I rolled my eyes and he smirked. “Just you watch, y/n. Ah have to go to work now but ah’ll come by the bar tonight.” His voice sounded so smooth and so confident- I was melting in my chair. He grabbed his flannel and walked up to me still sitting in my chair, he bent down and I looked up at him, thinking he was going to say something. But he kissed me instead. Then he smiled and left my apartment.
What the fuck?
What have I done?
I watched the door for a few more minutes, I was stuck in shock. I couldn’t believe what had just happened. After a while, I had managed to get up and go back to my room to grab my phone. “Megan, you’ll never believe what happened.”
“Did you sleep with him? Was it amazing? Tell me everything!” She squealed.
“Well, not really, no. It’s a long story.” I heard her get settled through the phone. “We kissed last night, at the bar, he stayed until closing. We had been talking and flirting all night but I just thought it was an attraction thing. But when he kissed me I instantly knew what everyone was raving about.” I paused, expecting something from Megan. She was silent but I shook it off. “So then we went back to my apartment and ended up in my bedroom but then I told him that I didn’t want to sleep with him. So then do you know what he did?”
“Did he leave?” She shouted. “How could you let him leave?!”
“No, no,” I started, “he didn’t leave. He just kissed me again and told me he wasn’t gonna force me into it. Then we fell asleep… fully clothed. We woke up and I made him breakfast and we talked.”
“Are you sure this was Sheamus? It sounds like he likes you.” Megan teased.
“Well then he told me that he liked me!” Megan gasped. “Yeah, he told me that he’s liked me since high school and that he was gonna prove to me that I can be with him.”
“That… is bonkers. Y/n he likes you! That’s great, but why does he need to prove anything.”
“Because I can’t get over things the way you can, Megan. I’m not as optimistic as you. I can’t get attached to him. I’ll be so hurt when I see that he’s moved on to other girls. And what if I’m working? This won’t last, there's no way he won't get bored of me then I’ll see him at my bar and I’ll have to serve him while girls fall all over him begging for him to spend the night again.”
“You already sound attached, honey.” Megan said, sounding defeated.
“I know. I get it though, he’s hypnotizing.”
“I know he is. But, I wouldn’t worry. I know a lot of girls Sheamus has been with and none of them have ever said anything like that.”
“Really?” Don’t get your hopes up.
“Yeah really, he’s never forced anyone into anything but he doesn’t stay the night with girls who don’t wanna sleep with him and he never stays for breakfast. He always wakes up before you then gets dressed and is gone. Sometimes he gets roped into morning sex but never breakfast.”
I stayed silent but I felt relieved- I know I shouldn’t care. I should feel indifferent, what do I care that he’s never treated any girl like this? Plus, he’s probably lying.
“Well, I gotta run but I’ll swing by the bar tonight.”
“Please. He said he was coming.”
“Of course, I’ll see you later.”
“Bye.”
Silence. I let myself flop onto my bed and I felt myself being drawn to the side of the bed he slept on. It smelled like cologne and whiskey.
-
I got to the bar at 4:30 to open for 5. My heart pounded, I had no clue what was going to happen. At 4:50, I let Megan in through the back and at five, Sheamus filed in with my regulars.
“You’re here early,” I teased as he approached Megan and I. I knew the only thing I could do was keep it light and normal. Megan can’t leave and, eventually, a girl will come and take him away.
Megan, Sheamus, and I chatted idly as I served my regulars. We talked mainly about high school, considering we all went together, and a little about college. We talked about our jobs and that’s when Sheamus spoke up.
“Oh. That reminds me. Ah’ve got to finish fixin’ sink pipes for a friend, ah got the final piece to the sink in the mail this mornin'.” He stood up and stared right into my eyes before finishing his statement. He looked at me as if he knew exactly what I was thinking. “Ah’ll be right back, y/n. This shouldn’t take longer than 25 minutes.”
I nodded and he ran off, it was only 6:30, younger people wouldn’t start coming in until around 8.
“See, I told you I couldn’t trust him. There he goes running off to ‘fix pipes’.” I mimicked his accent. It hasn’t even been a day since he told me he’d prove that I’m more than just a body to him.
“I think you are still. He just left. We’ll figure out if he’s a liar or not in 20 minutes. If he comes back in time, I think I’d trust him. He seemed kinda worried about leaving you here.” Megan was being too rational. I needed someone to be extra crazy and not support a friend’s budding romance with Mr Lonely.
I wasn’t consciously expecting him to get back, but I was watching the door between serving customers. After 20 minutes, I craned my neck to look at the clock, 5 more minutes. I was still looking at the clock when I heard the door open, I stopped looking at the clock and there he was, walking towards me. I couldn’t help the smile on my face and Megan, upon seeing my expression change, turned too.
“Was someone waitin’ for me?” Sheamus teased once he sat back down in the stool.
I ignored his question. “How’d the sink go?” I asked, sounding more impatient than I wanted to.
“It was fine. Easy fix. I just had to attach a final piece then turn the water back on.” His voice was normal and genuine. There was no hint of guilt and I believed him.
“What about that condom you keep in your pocket? Where’s that?” Megan chimed in. My face went red, if he didn’t already know that I liked him too, he does now.
“Ah didn’t bring it…” he started, only to be cut off by Megan.
“Didn’t bring it? Or already used it?” She accused. I know I said earlier that I wanted her to be crazy. But now that she was, I’m not sure I liked it- I didn’t want her to uncover any truth I wasn’t ready for.
Sheamus looked annoyed. He didn’t focus on her when he spoke, he just kind of stared at her with a glazed over expression. “Ah didn’t bring it.” He paused. “Ah wanted to prove to y/n that I didn’t want to sleep with anyone else.” Sheamus turned to me and noticed my embarrassment and his expression changed, “plus, you know how I operate, lass, would I ever spend only 20 minutes with a woman?” His voice was almost cold, it sounded like he was almost scolding her for making me feel weird.
After the ‘scolding,’ his mannerisms instantly changed and we returned to normal conversation. Megan didn’t seem phased by his tone or gaze from seconds ago. She, like every other girl in Pittsburgh, seemed to fall for his charm and never stay mad at him.
I found it weird that Megan, nor any of my other friends, were jealous. When the rest of my group showed up around 8, they all flocked to Sheamus and Megan told them the “good news.” They were all excited for me. They were supportive and smiley, something I wasn’t expecting.
If what Sheamus wants is true, that’ll mean he’ll retire as the man you can call for a good fucking. Why are they not upset?
Sheamus turned down 3 girls at the bar that night. My friends stayed with us the majority of the night and we had a normal conversation. They no longer treated him like some god who had seen them all naked, but like a friend’s boyfriend. It was weird, but nice. I enjoyed feeling like he was mine.
I know I shouldn’t feel so comfortable right now. The only girl in the bar that he hasn’t seen naked was me. That should scare me, right? He’s seen all of my friends naked, he’s kissed them, he’s slept with them next to him, he’s had sex with them.
Why am I not scared? Y/N!!! He could have anyone in this bar. I should at least be worried!
-
Our first week “together” went by unlike any week I’ve ever had, it felt like I had been dropped into an alternate universe. Sheamus must have felt like he was going to explode- he hasn’t had sex in a week. We talked everyday, he went to work and so did I, the first night we spent together had been the only one. It should have felt normal, but it didn’t. Normally, I wouldn’t have anything to do with him, but I was beginning to understand why so many people liked having him around. Aside from the fact that I expected him to fuck another girl at any moment, he was enjoyable to be around.
It was a Wednesday, two weeks into our companionship, I had just closed the bar and Sheamus was with me. On usual weekdays, Sheamus didn’t stay too late, he worked early in the mornings and I never wanted to keep him up later than he had to be. He stayed with me tonight only because his first job of the next morning was at 11.
Sheamus was standing behind me as I was locking the door and he suddenly spoke, “Ah want ya to come back to my place tonight.” He blurted. I noticed that he had been slightly on the quieter side tonight and I knew he was mulling over something, I guess that was it.
I had never seen his apartment, rumor has it that no one has. He doesn’t bring girls back to his place… ever. I wondered why but I didn’t ask him. “Oh wow, really?” I said both excited and sarcastic.
Sheamus smirked and nodded, “C’mon, love,” he started. My heart stopped beating at the nickname. It’s not a big deal. I had to remind myself that him calling me “love” was not actually him saying he loved me. I knew the Irishman liked to tease, but something inside of me didn’t want to think of it as just a tease or a nickname. “Ya haven’t seen my flat yet.”
I followed Sheamus to his truck, he had driven me to work today, and I climbed in. The drive was filled with a comfortable silence, I caught him singing softly to the songs on the radio but I didn’t mention it. I found it cute and I knew if I called him out, he’d stop.
We arrived at his building, it was only a short drive further than mine but a lot nicer. I followed him out of the car and through the lobby. Sheamus paused to speak to the man behind the security desk. “Hey, Tony, how are ya fella?” I wasn’t surprised, Sheamus was a local personality, everyone seemed to know, and love, him.
“I’m good my man, I’m good. How are you?” His New York-Italian accent was thick. “And who is this lovely lady?” He asked, looking past Sheamus at me. “Ya know I’ve never seen this guy bring a girl here, it must be serious, huh?” I blushed and Sheamus spoke up before I could.
“This is y/n. She bartends over at Jack, ya should stop by it's a nice bar. She’s turnin’ me into an honest man.” Sheamus joked, wrapping his arm around me and pulling me close. I smiled up at Sheamus knowing that, despite his joking tone, he meant it.
“Well I’m happy for you two, enjoy your night.” He said happily.
“You too, Tony.” Sheamus spoke before turning toward the elevator with me still wrapped in his arms.
I looked back and waved at the man behind the desk, “It was nice meeting you.” It was the first thing I said since climbing into his truck.
“You too, y/n.”
I don’t know what I was expecting to see in Sheamus’ apartment. I kinda was picturing something like mine, small, on the cheaper side but still nice and plainly decorated. That's not what I saw. Sheamus’ apartment was much bigger than mine. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen and living room. Nice big windows that would let in wonderful natural lighting, a beautiful black leather couch, a large TV, and tasteful decor. He looked back and noted my visible confusion. “What,” he started. “You were expectin’ more of a bachelor pad, weren’t ya love?”
I nodded. “This is really nice, why do you never bring girls back here?” I didn't want to know the answer to that question originally. I had thought it was because he lived minimally, I could see now that he didn’t.
“Well ah didn’t want any of them in my house, fer some reason. Ah guess ah wanted to be able to leave. Ah don’t like them gettin’ too attached.” His reasoning was simple. “But ah want you here. Ah want you to get attached, ah’m already attached to ya I feel like it’s only fair.”
I smiled and let him lead me into his bedroom. More large windows and elegant black furniture that contrasted with the clean white walls. The only thing that hung on the wall was a Celtic Cross by his bed. He had photos and momentos, but they were in frames on his dresser and night tables. I didn’t stop myself from looking around. I picked up a picture of a small boy with pale skin and red hair smiling brightly in the arms of a jolly-looking woman with matching pale skin and mousy brown hair. “Is this you and your mom?” I asked, turning back to him with the photo in my hand.
Sheamus grinned and reached up to grab the back of his neck with his hand, I watched as his muscles flexed and the black fabric of his t-shirt rode up, showing shimmering white skin. “Yeah, that’s my ma’.” He moved to stand beside me and pointed to himself.
“You were adorable.” I said, my eyes locked on the small smiling boy in the photograph.
“Ah’m not adorable now?” He asked, a dramatic pained look on his face. I laughed at him and looked back at the small boy in the photo.
“Not as cute as you were here. When was this.” Sheamus had never talked about his life before moving. If he didn’t look or speak like a leprechaun, I wouldn’t even have known he was from Ireland.
He hesitated before leaning his chin on the top of my head, “Ah was four. She had just told me that she was takin’ me to a football game for my fifth birthday. My dad took the picture, he couldn’t come to the game, that or he didn’ want to.” Sheamus took the picture from my hands and placed back down on his dresser. “But enough of that, love.” Sheamus always seemed to know what I was thinking, he knew I wanted to ask more questions but he didn’t want to answer more questions about his father.
Sheamus turned back to me and leaned down to kiss me. His calloused hands held my face and I instantly forgot about what I wanted to ask him. He lifted me up and placed me gently on his bed before crawling over me. We remained clothed until my hands pulled on the hem of his shirt. My shirt came off after his but that was the only thing that came off. Sheamus waited until I made any moves and I didn’t want to tease him. He never made me feel bad about wanting to wait but I couldn’t help feeling a little conflicted about it. My fingernails raked over his pale skin, leaving red trails in their wake. Sheamus pulled away from my lips but didn’t go far. He moved to kiss my chin, his moustache tickled my lips. His soft lips moved down my neck to my collarbones and I couldn’t suppress the moan that escaped my lips. Sheamus pulled back briefly, smirking at the fact that he could unravel me with just his lips. My eyes shot from Sheamus’ face to his neck, exposed and strong, pale and begging to be bitten. I wrapped my arms around his neck and lifted my shoulders off the bed to attach my lips to his skin. Sheamus moaned as my lips ghosted along his ear and down towards his collarbone. Sheamus moved to his knees and wrapped one of his arms around my back to keep me pressed tightly against his firm body.
“Ah want ya, bad.” He moaned, his voice coming out uncontrollably. I pulled back from his neck and glared into his blue eyes. I didn’t have to speak, he knew what I was thinking. “Ah… uh. Ah mean ah want to… date ya bad.”
I smiled at him as he continued to hold me tightly against him. “Yeah, I’m sure that’s what you meant.” I moved my arms from the back of his neck to cup his cheeks. I pressed my lips against his and smiled against them. Sheamus laid me back down and pulled away from the kiss.
“Ah didn’t mean to make ya uncomfortable.” His voice was soft and he looked at me sweetly. His fingers brushed across my face gently and pushed a lock of hair behind my ear.
“You didn’t make me uncomfortable, Sheamus,” I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled myself up to his ear. “We’ll start dating after the first time you fuck me.” I whispered before letting myself drop onto the bed below him. I smirked as I stared up at his shocked face. His blue eyes were wide and his lips were slightly parted. “But that won’t happen yet, now let's go to bed.”
Sheamus groaned dramatically and flopped onto the bed beside me. He rolled out of bed only to take off his jeans. He tossed me a pair of sweatpants and asked if I wanted a shirt, I took off my own jeans and agreed to the shirt. The shirt was green and soft, it had an Irish flag across the chest. I turned away from him and slipped my bra off before pulling the shirt over my head. It was long and reached above my mid-thigh. I didn’t put on the pants, the shirt was long enough. Sheamus smirked as he watched me crawl back into bed. Ah could get used to this. He pulled the white sheets and puffy black comforter over us before he wrapped his arm around my waist. His bed was soft and warm, my clothed back was pressed against his bare torso and my bare legs were tangled in his.
I could get used to this.

My Romance Kdrama Rankings and rec.:
*warning: possibly a lot of spoilers but tbh mostly just a redone synopsis of the shows*
Also a bit lengthy as hell
#12. Melting Me Softly
Tumblr media
This show didn’t do that well as much as it was expected to, considering it even had Ji Chang-Wook as the male lead and the adorable Choi Bo-min who was introduced and quite possibly helped quick start the recognition for his kpop group Golden Child. I’ll admit I expected more of this and I don’t hold anything against the script writer who I heard did Strong Woman, but I kept in mind that the whole premise itself was also very complex to work with. Besides the fact it had two very cute and good looking male leads to draw me in, what really did it was the said premise. This is coming from a girl who is in love with Fallout 4 where the playable character was cryogenically frozen and then thawed out two centuries later, that shit slaps with me for some reason and I was excited to see it play out in this.
The romance is okay I guess, still “aww” worthy and has an intense kiss scene that’ll go down in Ji Chang-Wook’s kissing portfolio no doubt, as well as a hot kiss with his former and now aged flame that is only dreamt of. What drives the romance is the male lead with his puppy dog eyes and loving gaze, only a few have COMPLETELY mastered this in the kdrama buisness. Choi Bo-min was a complete adorable cutie who seemed to have fallen in love for the first time and I couldn’t help but fall in love with him (we’re also the same age but that’s besides the point and I’m completely in love with Rocky from Astro so like, I gotta keep this professional).
Time and time again I have issues with female leads in dramas and feel like the men pick up the slack when it comes to acting, this was one of those times. She was funny and quirky but seemed very out of focus on serval aspects. I think her most redeeming trait besides being made for the media and entertainment business in the show was her completely devotion to her brother.
#11. Suits
Tumblr media
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Park Hyungsik is my favorite korean actor hands down.
I’ve seen bits of the American version, the original version, and it didn’t interest me in the slightest. I took a chance on this because I saw this cutie wearing a suit and converse and maybe that’s my kink, who knows, but I was fucking HERE for it. Now I’m a huge slave to romance and the shows, romcoms, that shit. I need to ship, I need to see the love, possibly write a fanfic of it, save gifs of the couple being cute or someone pining. But this show didn’t focus on the love story brewing on the side, it focused on its original intent and purpose which was Park Hyungsik and Jang Don-Gun’s partnership as mentor and mentee, the practice of law, and Park Hyungsik’s storyline as someone who got mixed up in the wrong crowd and fauxed having the license to practice law. The love story you get is the reason it’s on this list and why it’s ranked lower, but all in all this was a good show and one of the few exceptions to a non romance focused show.
#10. Suspicious Partner
The only reason this doesn’t have a pic is because I can only use ten and I gotta figure which would need one and which wouldn’t.
To start off, this show is fucking hilarious with the cast dynamic. It was like what, 40 episodes? I didn’t realize I needed a prolonged show until this came along. At times, it seemed like the main plot was dragging and I was reminded of why I prefer typical kdrama fashion of a one season within 12-32 episode limit, but it made up for it.
Yes, yes, Ji Chang-Wook, the god of kissing, stars in this. My first introduction to him was actually Melting Me Softly and because of how he did in acting with what he could, the emotions he portrayed, I sought out another show of his pre-military duty. God, he fucking serves in glasses and a suit. His character’s jealousy regarding Nam Ji Hyun (his romantic interest) and Choi Tae Joon (Ex best friend, slow burn, exes to friends to platonic lovers that’s one sided while the other can’t stand him, 35k words) instilled the notion that he is fucking funny as hell when needed and such a mood. You want to see the (not even romantic rival bc Choi and Nam are best friends) spraying with a water hose on your lead’s rival? Want to see a hot guy like Ji Chang-Wook panic and try shoving him out of the house when the girl catches them working out? It’s gold.
The feud with the moms -granted they didn’t realize the knew they were the mom’s of the leads-, the slow burn of enemies to friends with the girls, the redemption of a broken friendship, the crackhead and large old baby played by Lee Deok Hwa and the poor father figure who is tired of everyone’s shit portrayed by Jang Hyeok-jin. It’s everything you need for at least a week. It’s possibly a great starter show to ease one into the fact that most dramas don’t hold to that many episodes.
The romance is great, the fucking pining on Ji Chang-Wook’s side is great, the kissing scenes are fucking one for the history books, and you’re guaranteed to be giggling to yourself in several scenes.
Oh and there’s like, a serial killer but yeah, romance!
#9. What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?
Tumblr media
The reason why it’s not so high on my list despite being popular is quite possibly some of the side cast.
While Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young severed as a fucking power couple and their tandem dynamic was strong as hell, there were characters who made the show’s story seen to drag out despite it being 16 episodes (see what I mean by usual number??). For one, we learn that a brown haired Lee Tae Hwan is not gonna make for a silent crush in this show. No, brown haired Lee Tae Hwan just gets on your nerves and despite it being purely because his character is mentally blocked in this twisted memory, he forces the main character into staying isolated within his own pain and nightmares from what really occurred when they were children. He lies to his family, keeps it hidden from those who are close to him and love him, suffers alone. It’s what keeps him away from chasing after Secretary Kim besides his egotistical personality -which I never thought could be so great but it is. The main character’s brother in his endless pursuit to chase at Secretary Kim himself starts to gnaw on your chill as you watch him subconsciously force this notions that they’re tethered to one another, deserve each other, etc. While you can’t entirely fault him for how he is given the psychological trauma he endured, you can get annoyed with him very easily for the other accounts and purposes.
The side story of the roof top guy with the one suit -I’m sorry, he’s great in 2PM but I can’t stand him in about every drama he’s in- and the seemly rookie girl become more of an obstacle when you just want to watch the main focus. The driver of the main character is hilarious but his romantic interest is over the top at times. Sometimes it just takes away from the show.
#8. Hotel Del Luna
Ah, I wish I could’ve put a pic.
To kick this off, can we like get a spin off with Kim Soo Hyun? Thanks.
FINALLY, A FUCKING FEMALE LEAD I STAN COMPLETELY AND WOULD WATCH EVEN WITHOUT YEO JIN GOO THERE FOR A ROMANTIC INTEREST.
This bitch, IU, fucking slays in her role as a hotel owner for the dead before the leave for the after life. Everything she does is iconic -yes, the fucking cocking of the rifle, the child like smile seeing diamonds, blessing the poor boy with the ability to see the dead then let him get chased per her own amusement before business. I really would’ve watched the show even if there was no romance. Whether it’s modern times or her orignal lifetime before being condemned to a life of immortality hell and aimlessly running a hotel, she makes for a strong lead. Her reasons for wanted to avoid love seemed so valid compared to other female leads who completely brush guys off. She doesn’t want love, and yet she doesn’t want anyone else touching Chan Sung (Yeo Jin Goo) because she’s not dumb enough to let go of something that makes her feel alive. While her character is legitimately described as cold and greedy, her intentions for holding onto him reveal an insecure part of her that’s been tucked away for centuries. His dedication to the hotel and her, to helping the ghosts move on and such, it’s great and makes for a binge full night.
It’s only ranked lower because the ending sadden me when I realized it was him picturing how they would meet one another again. And because they teased us with Kim Soo Hyun, like that’s cruel.
#7. Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (aka Goblin)
Tumblr media
Tbh, this show would be lower if it weren’t for the Reaper and Sunny, as well as Deok Hwa.
I’ll probably get a lot of hate for this, but I couldn’t stand Kim Go Eun in this. I’ve watched her in Cheese in the Trap and thought she was good and stuff, but this I found myself growing annoyed and glaring at the television while my mom preached upon her behalf. The goblin was funny, his dynamic and weird polar friendship with the Reaper is quite possibly what really made the show, but I failed to see the spark between them until the time skip. Then, THEN, I could tolerate her a bit better.
Maybe it’s because she was protraying someone around my age in high school, but she went from this independent and driving girl to someone who became too needy and clingy. She acted like a little girl in front of a crush when she could’ve handled it more marturely with the said maturity she showed before meeting him. Granted, I know she had a very difficult home life after her mom died and she saw ghosts everywhere, and her living with the Reaper and Goblin was like this warm family she felt safe in, but I just couldn’t. Her endless pursuing of the Goblin got on my nerves and she would get upset, but then again did she ever act like an adult and do the most natural thing? Aka sit down and discuss the whole situation.
“If you’re comfortable, can you tell me why you think I’m your bride?/Why is there a sword in you?/What happens if I pull it out?/ What do you want me to do?/etc”
No, instead it was a constant “I’m the goblin’s bride”, “I’m your bride”, there was this bratty entitlement laying underneath the cutest exterior that was so apparent for someone my age, and I got pissed when she admitted to have seeing the sword the first time around. Like this man has been in total agony for fucking forever and you strung him along hoping for the possibility that you may be the key to him finally getting the ending he thinks he’ll get. It was selfish, she didn’t even know him but insisted on seeing how to be his bride. She should’ve stepped back and thought the situation out carefully. It wasn’t until that blessed time skip that I started to like her better. She wasn’t a kid then and became mature like she needed to be. There’s the need to flaw a character, but her’s was always biting at me.
Oh yeah, Sunny and the Reaper are the true couple in this story and their love that’s star crossed in two lives really hits you. There was more chemistry than the main couple, there was confusion in flirtatious banter, there was stupidity for first time romance against a tired experience woman, there was the hidden history that they both remembered after the time skip. The angst, the pure acceptance, the guilt and remorse. They made the fucking show alongside the Goblin and Reaper’s bromance and Deok Hwa’s “I just want a credit card and to be irresponsible but these two dumb fucks keep almost revealing their true selves to the world and I’m fucking done with these children”, on top of God taking his body as a vessel and becoming 10x cooler with that hairstyle while drinking with Fate (such a badass who loves her children I can’t, I stan the side character too).
#6. My ID is Gangnam Beauty
Tumblr media
Oh my god, my introduction to Astro. Cha Eun Woo (aka Lee Dongmin). My god, if it weren’t for my mom, sister and I officially ruling Cha Eun Woo as god tier in terms of looks and making him this untouchable bias we can’t have, I would have never let this adorably hot as hell dancer and rapper distract me. Really, I kept wanting to be distracted by Rocky but I felt like I couldn’t miss the visual god in the front. Blessed I finally was able to divert my attention to the one I wanted to watch so very much and became my bias wrecker. Mom loves Moonbin like he’s her own son and we’re not her children, sister loves MJ’s psychotic idiocy.
ANYWAYS, the female lead, Kang Mi Rae, was stiff as hell when watching it a second time around and at times, knowing their age gap can be bothersome, but it was a cute slow burn of her and Cha Eun Woo’s character, Do Kyung Suk (sounds badass too, doesn’t it). While he appeared stiff as well, probably could’ve played a robot if he wanted to, I felt like he did well portraying his character who grew up in a dysfunctional house where their political father’s position took presidence over family. He was taught it was unmanly you cry, he never smiled (idk how Cha Eun Woo did it, this cutie never stops smiling or laughing), he never spoke up, etc. He appears socially handicapped until Mi Rae appears back in his life and he slowly let’s go of this anger as the story progresses. She learns she doesn’t have to be so self conscious about her plastic surgery or who she used to be because he loves both.
The villian of this story was well thought out (only kdrama where my dad actively participates in the discussions because he hated her so much and says her name with such spite while bragging he knows at least one Astro member so that’s his “idfk what a bias is but I’ll go with the Gangnam kid”). She brought the tension and there was the window to pity her and realize something was most definitely wrong in a tragic way. She sought after Kyung Suk like a prized trophy when he didn’t express interest, stepped inbetween blooming relationships, set boys off a progressive course away from her, and turned one kid psychotic. That was just with her obsession to have the boys fawn after her; completely disregarding her endless efforts to knock Mi Rae down a peg or two in meticulously planned schemes. She was incredibly smart and cunning, it can’t be denied and she drove them closer together in spite of her tries to wedge between them.
Really, this made me wish that the Webtoon True Beauty that’s supposed to get a drama adaption will cast him as the main male lead Suho. It’s almost similar but Suho seems more dimensional and expressive and I feel like he would truly shine there.
Stan Astro.
#5. Extra-Ordinary You
Tumblr media
Ah, this one hurts me. @macaknight, just watch it.
This is a young love one and one of the few that’s not absolute cringe worthy. Set in high school where yea, there’s drama and it’s in Asia so there’s that weird “all mighty and supreme group that conquers the school” called the A3, a girl (Kim Hye Yoon) with a heart condition learns she’s a character in a manga -doesn’t realize she’s not the main one tho and that’s hilarious alone. She finds a focus with this unnamed student who stays in the background and shadows (portrayed by SF9’s Rowoon). The girl, Eun Dan Oh, is someone to worship and cherish, especially since she’s so young and very promising. I thoroughly enjoyed her character and how her efforts to derail the natural progression of the story with the catalyst of student number 13, later on Haru. There’s so many fucking twist and turns, characters to let your heartbreak for as you wish to adopt them and protect them from the world, it all hurts so much but in a masochistic against yourself kind of way you can’t let go of.
Those who are aware they’re in a comic book, they all struggle to break their “character’s” roles and expectations. The second male lead of both the drama and the drama’s manga is sick and tired of playing the violin and being this unrequited love interest that’ll lose in the end, forever the friend. Dan Oh is livid she’s expected to die from her heart disease and is forced to endlessly pine for her childhood fiancé Baek Kyung who is a complete asshole to her while in character. Number 13/Haru is tired of being an unnamed background character who continuously suffers and gets toyed with by the author. Dried Squid Fairy lunch maker is sick of how he must remember shit that’s kept a secret as he tries in vain to keep the story on track to avoid repeated mistakes and consequential devastating punishments to those who don’t follow the storyline. Yeo Ju Da (the main character of the manga) wants to experience the love story she wants without the drama. Baek Kyung want to prove himself and that he genuinely cares for Dan Oh but is forced to be an asshole because that’s how he’s written.
It’s a fucking mess and it’s fucking fantastic. The friendship of A3 (Lee Do Hwa the vionlist, Oh Namju and Baek Kyung), Lee Do Hwa and Dan Oh’s powerful best friendship after being self aware and confiding in each other (honestly I want a drama with just two of them, they’re so cute and funny together), the A3 that happened outside for those self aware between Dan Oh, Number 13/Haru, and Do Hwa where they all genuinely care for one another, Dan Oh’s acceptance that her manga best friend is a bitch but nice to her and the male lackey of their group is funny, etc.
I didn’t think another self aware comic book character show could happen without ripping off W-Two Worlds, but it did. They did it.
#4. Angel’s Last Mission: Love
Tumblr media
That song that goes “It’s alright, it’s alright” in a sad melodic way? Yeah, they play it when it’s not alright.
This show has heartbreak galore, even in the first episode for numerous reasons. They don’t want you to be alright for the most part and yet our sadistic selves can’t help but suffer through it. L’s portrayal of being an angel is such a gift, I didn’t know I needed it. I was dead set on living my life until I saw this and felt myself crumble to bits.
You want sacrifice? You got it. Tears of cute boy and a girl who can’t catch a break? Check. Plot twists? Lmao, it’s a kdrama. Yea. Angst and hurt? Fuck yep.
While you’re at it, listen to the song too so you can suffer some more.
#3. Descendants of the Sun
Tumblr media
THIS WOULD BE AT THE TOP IF IT WEREN’T FOR THE FACT I AM COMPLETELY IN LOVE WITH THE FIRST ONE AND THESE TWO GOT DIVORCED IN REAL LIFE. I still wish the best for them and their child. I still hurt but love them.
So much fucking chemistry and angst, so much hurt and wounds (it’s legit a show with a military background and characters), so much cool fight scenes and surgeries. Their soundtrack slaps, the backstory of characters really set the tone to their current stories, shit overlaps somehow, the female rivalry is hilarious, the cat and dog friendship of the male leads warms my heart. They have such iconic stills and scenes.
The main leads connected so fucking well they got married in real life (we don’t talk about the end result, I’m still crying but I get it.) This kdrama is probably one of the staples to korean dramas in general.
Another female lead I really liked as well as the second, I just struggled at times with Song’s character at times because of the pain she put them both through.
#2. W-Two Worlds
Tumblr media
This is my go to for recommending korean dramas to someone for the first time -I got an ex hooked on it that he cried several times throughout it/life 1/4 of the varsity boy’s soccer team has seen this because of me.
This is the comic self awareness show that I didn’t think could be redone, but kudos to you Extraordinary You, you created an orignal that breaks my heart.
This show hurts so much as well, I don’t watch them if they don’t hurt in one way or another.
Lee Jong Suk stars as the main character (Kang Chul) who is also the main character of his own comic book he stars in. The issue is that he’s self aware and that there’s something wrong with his world and life. His webtoon/manga creator is trying to kill him because having his creation alive is driving him to insanity and was the only comfort when he pushed his family away for his career and alcoholism. The creator’s daughter is alerted that her father went missing while cooped up in his room while drawing Kang Chul’s death and end to the manga without a resolution to his storyline (Think of a korean Batman without the suit and brooding personality). Plot twist that’s in the synopsis, she gets pulled in by Kang Chul inside the comic and can come and go if it pertains to him because he controls it without realizing.
You have a main character who is written as this playboy orphan and sole survivor of his mass family’s murder that questions his existence and purpose BEYOND how we do. He meets this girl who speaks almost cryptically to him without realizing and knows more about him than needed or given, and now he’s experiencing oddities besides the notion of love that he can’t understand because it’s not how he is written and the glitches in his world.
This show is twisted in a psychological sense that messes with a comic character who is now alive and real, fucks up the mentality of the creator, puts the daughter in an immense amount of stress when she was just trying to be a fucking surgeon, yes, black haired Lee Tae Hwan is crush worthy in this unlike brown haired Lee Tae Hwan in Secretary Kim. (It’s the hair, you change the hair on a character and everything is different).
The exploration of what love is that works alongside the devoting dark plot of the culprit murderer really drives this show as well as the couple’s endless efforts to save/protect one another in any means necessary, even if they both suffer from it.
These two truly can’t live without one another and it shows with all they do for each other. There’s nothing they wouldn’t risk to keep one another in their arms.
And Lee Jong Suk delivers his share of being one of the King of Korean Drama Kisses as well, gif saving worthy and iconic ones as well.
#1. Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon
Tumblr media
Park Hyungsik. Park Hyungsik. Park Hyungsik. Park Hyungsik.
Need I say more?
We stan Park Hyungsik’s character, Ahn Minhyuk, in this blog. We basically stan Do Bong Soon as well for how happy she makes him.
This is possibly totally bias but this is one of my two white noise korean drama shows that I continuously find myself rewatching time and time again. And that’s saying something since I only have one white noise show that’s in English. Three shows total.
People had issues with the script and what the actors had to say, but for the most part I thought the love story and the rival one was pretty well written, then again I kept watching different translations on different sites. So I wasn’t bothered at all. People also didn’t like the side characters and stories regarding the sketchy well dressed gang she hospitalizes in the first episode that stuck around until the last but I felt it was important to have them to prove how having Bong Soon in their lives can change a person and how she has this affect on people overall.
My god, the love story. Bong Soon has this massive crush on police officer and high school friend she was sweet on, Guk Doo, who doesn’t seem to acknowledge her feelings and is all about protecting the law and stuff (I can respect, I’m a LEO kid). He isn’t aware of her abilities of being incredibly strong and nearly indestructible. Nah, instead, CEO of AIN Software, Ahn Minhyuk, accidentally finds out and is like super chill but excited and curious about it and her??
He hires her as his bodyguard in the mist of receiving threats regarding his family company and they find an odd balance with each other while Minhyuk falls in love with her so hard, he literally tries to protect HER from danger. He’s so wonderfully extra that it’s no wonder Park Hyungsik and Park Seo Joon are best friends in real life, they both have the ability to play someone so over the top in a cute and funny way that you appreciate it about them. A cutie with a button nose and weird ears decked out in monochrome color scheme and dark sunglasses, whistling as he rides a hoverboard around? Die for 100%. Someone who gets crazy jealous and presents it in a healthily humorous way by dramatically posing to securitygates of his company that open automatically for him? Stan. Wants Bong Soon’s attention while she’s in a room away from him so her opera sings her name loudly and dramatically? Worship.
While it’s hard to watch the slow progression on her end yet the obvious budding of it, it’s understandable since she’s been in love with Guk Doo ever since high school and has assumably never had a boyfriend in hopes that he would reciprocate her feelings. So the second time watching it and stepping back to analyze, I could forgive her.
All the while, Minhyuk making Heart Eyes ™️ at Bong Soon for literally everything she does makes you feel. The way he holds her and treats her like she’s this precious porcelain doll that could break it handled the wrong way speaks volumes considering he knows of her Herculean strength. He openly loves her when he comes to realize what she means to him -which is a lot sooner than you’d think but welcomed-, and looks at no one else but her. The love story probably would’ve also happened faster if everyone didn’t think Minhyuk was gay (that’s a solid fact, I’m not joking), only those close to her and see how he acts/looks at her realize “lmao, he ain’t gay Hunni”. Minhyuk is this cute hottie that girls wish were straight (it’s fucking hilarious) who acts like a complete lovesick dork with Bong Soon. He freaks and spazzes out when she calls him a nickname or acts cheeky with dropping honorifics, speaks aloud to himself of his thoughts regarding her, literally can’t contain himself when she acts cute to get on his good side and distract his anger.
Oh and there’s like this serial kidnapper too so there’s badass scenes of the two working together, power couple def.
Their soundtrack slaps too and you somehow end up vibing with it. The song You’re My Garden on it, I learned to sing it because it’s one of my top favs.
They’re just the cutest with their hamster and puppy dog relationship. It’s my go to show and I won’t stop watching this. It’s so obvious how Park Hyungsik grew to fall in love Park Bo Young (that’s a legitimate fact) when filming and their bts cuts are too cute, I wish they were dating in real life.
(Also, we have another King of kiss scenes -to those who watched this drama already, you know the scene, iconic 🔥🎼)

Homily on Sunday Best by Surfaces
This week Fr. Rossi will be talking about the song Sunday Best by Surfaces! Here is the preview of his homily:
Surfaces’ Sunday Best “Feeling good, like I should Went and took a walk around the neighborhood Feeling blessed, never stressed Got that sunshine on my Sunday best.” “Sunday Best” is part of Surfaces’ album “Where the Light Is”. That’s a perfect title! The duo, Forrest Frank and Colin Padalecki, seem to spread summer sunniness wherever they go. __________ Some songs connect immediately upon release, while others take a bit longer to find an audience. The latter applies to “Sunday Best.” It took the track a while to really catch on with fans, but recently it’s had a sharp spike in popularity. __________ Originally released in 2019, the relentlessly optimistic jam is currently making huge waves on Spotify, where it’s been streamed more than 100 million times. Why now? Ever hear of COVID-19’s shelter-in-place? __________ An earlier Super Bowl sync certainly helped and viral sensations don’t happen overnight. But this is the kind of song that people in-shelter discover and then share with their far-away friends. The simple fact is it puts a smile on your face in spite of everything. __________ In fact, that is the Texas duo’s mission statement. “Our music exists to spread love and positivity across the world,” Forrest and Colin write on their website. “For those hurting, for those who feel lost, we want all our songs to be a pathway that can lead to brighter days.” __________ They certainly achieved that with “Sunday Best.” In addition to instantly raising your serotonin levels, it’s also extremely catchy. “Got that sunshine on my Sunday best,” they sing in the chorus. __________ The term “Sunday best” refers to the finest clothes you’ve got. You know, the ones you wear only on special occasions. Like the clothes the boys wore to Baptist services back in Texas when they were kids. __________ So, Surfaces is saying make every day a special occasion like your “Sunday best”. Specifically, adopt a positive attitude all the time: make the best of every day, no matter what it brings. __________ Now, that’s easier said than done. How can we achieve this? Well, it’s good to remember that feeling positive about things is not about merely living through a favorable event. __________ Rather, they argue, you’ve got to have that outlook even when facing the harshest challenges. And the boys’ cheerfulness and exuberance in the uplifting video is so palpable, who can doubt them? __________ Notice something else: “Sunday Best” is all about showing, not preaching. “Hey, look at us,” they’re saying  “We’re ‘feeling blessed, never stressed’. __________ They want the office workers in their music video—and us—to know that tedium and negativity are inevitable. Therefore, commit to daily edification. In other words, “just do it”: promote optimism in every situation. __________ “Every day can be a better day despite the challenge All you gotta do is leave it better than you found it It's gonna get difficult to stand but hold your balance I just say whatever 'cause there is no way around it.” __________ Surfaces has definitely launched the summer of 2020 in the right way by releasing an upbeat color book-themed music video. In the video, which features YouTuber Hannah Meloche, Frank and Colin break up the bored 9-to-5 crew with a slew of party favors and good vibes. Ultimately, they bring this gang to their feet for a massive dance fest. “See the way the office workers transition from bleak to happy,” Frank says. “It’s a perfect example of the message we want to share.” __________ "Sunday Best" reflects the duo's Christian convictions. "It's just something we believe in," says Forrest, a self-taught musician, who grew up surrounded by music and singing in the church choir. "These are things I've picked up through my faith, which is very real to me, but I don't want to preach. “The lyrics are an expression of my heart." __________ "We want people to feel the way we did when we wrote the songs in ‘Where the Light Is,"’ shares Colin. "I've had experiences with anxiety and depression in my own life. “We want to communicate our hope, faith, and good energies, so the listener can channel that same spirit. “Wear joy like armor. Be the color in this grey world." __________ “Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”                                                                      Gospel of John 14:21 Last Sunday, Jesus’ apostles had a million anxious questions. They know that he will ascend into heaven soon and they’re really worried. I finally DMed for my Best Friend and his Wife. An open letter to under confident aspiring DMs
So I started D&D 7 years ago with my best friend, his wife, and his mother as our DM(she had serious DM mojo back in the day so her son convinced her to play with us, his wife did DM a session one night for shits and giggles). His Wife and I were new to the idea of d&d, I remember my only relationship to it was I knew a couple inside jokes from a few people I went to school with but I had no desire to try it until my best friend found out I hadn’t even tried it before.
We played 3.5 that first campaign, and I loved it. Freed a town from a tyrant, slated a wyvern and uncovered the secret backstory of one of our party members.
Eventually his life saw him headed to the east coast, and I, living on the west coast, was left to dream of playing another campaign with them someday or even continuing the one we already had(Azoth Drake my gestalt Knight/Fighter is immortalized in character sheet pdf form on my pc to this day). I can’t tell you how many ideas I had for settings and characters, how many homebrews I made with hopes I would show it off to my first d&d group one day.
One day we three reconnect and start playing a PS4 game online together, him, his wife and I that is. We decide next time we get a chance we will play a new 5e campaign(since I learned 5e and studied the books thanks to other d&d groups I recently played with in the past 2 years preferring those rules to 3.5 or pathfinder).
I get the news they are coming for New Years around September. I have months to work on things and I’m worried I will either overprepare and railroad them, or I’ll underprepare and it will be All Sunny in the Forgotten Realms(but in a bad way). Also CR, the hardest thing to do is make a fair CR for a party that is just two adventurers. We decided to do it gestalt(like our first campaign, just take two classes and get features from both each level, sounds complicated, really easy and it makes the player a bit overconfident despite still having a normal amount of health for their level and just one turn in combat) that way they can fit two roles of the party instead of having to play two characters or having me play a healbot for them. And my best friend loves the idea of making it a “Witcher” type campaign with bounties on monsters and a political plot in the overtones.
With New Years looming we tidy up the final loose ends as far as what we need to know about the world and the characters and I get the opportunity to write in a few new things for precise flavor. I even made a failsafe that I’m glad I had prepared in case of premature player character death(My interpretation of Terry Pratchett’s Death will meet them on the road to the afterlife and check one of many pocket watches, the particular one designed so that it reminds the character of themselves, he’ll then tell them their deity would be angry if he let them pass on before their time and direct them away from the light).
I got more than I bargained for for certain. They followed the first clues I gave them and solved the problems I posed in ways I didn’t expect, so I had to ad lib most of the first contract they had. At the end of it his wife’s character lobbed a rock at the fleeing commoner NPC that was the key to complete the quest, being capable of killing it with 1+ her strength mod damage. Still they came up with a way to make it work reasonably and I let them get paid.
The first night they roleplayed staying at a tavern inn. My best friend’s character off put by his traveling partner’s homicidal tendencies decided to sleep alone. His wife’s character stayed up all night partying and we rolled on the carousing table for the result. She apparently gambled and won a lot of money and became a local legend. We had a lot of fun roleplaying after that.
On the way out of town I rolled on a table for an encounter, 1d4 Goblins, and I rolled 1. 1 goblin, oh well, that’s all I would have them encounter then. I created a lovable scamp goblin who considers the roadside to be his personal kingdom, and I named him after the Tomb of Annihilation’s Queen Grabstab. They didn’t kill him despite his annoying posturing, in fact when he asked for a toll my best friend’s wife decided to toss him a gold peice, but more about him later.
The next contract I made too difficult, admittedly on purpose(not every story has to be a happy ending), they could certainly solve the mystery but getting the full amount involved saving children from an entire Night Hag coven that had already eaten them. They faced only one Night Hag and after a long battle the Night Hag retreated leaving the child they followed into the foggy marshes behind. Even then I had the payment come in the form of an IOU from that one child’s parents who weren’t able to scrounge more than a few copper at the time. They settled for a larger sum later. I plan on paying them more money the longer they give the family to earn it(and I want them to forget about it if possible so I can surprise them later with enough gold to get their characters something nice like 1d4x10 for every week they give them).
Then it happened, I underestimated 4 cultists and 3 cult fanatics. That battle was more brutal than the single Night Hag I had thrown at them before. The strategy could have used some work admittedly, they had ranged attack options they forgot about that could have been effective rather than getting overwhelmed by 7 weaklings. Also his wife didn’t move from the center of the dogpile, despite me giving her hints that she was the most logical person to attack for four out of seven enemies so long as she remained there, meaning she was taking a lot of damage every round, I was trying to convey the message without metagaming but she was confident that she could survive. Just before the end of combat her character died, a tense moment for me as I’ve never had a character die in one of my campaigns and her husband’s character managed to barely survive the final 2 enemies left after her death. He had 10 health and a new cart to carry his dead companion back to town with.
I continued the session by using my one time resurrection failsafe, I’m glad I thought ahead but I felt I had to really exaggerate that I prepared the way I would give them a chance to come back once they first died, honestly a party of two is easy to overwhelm. Hey, even all knowing gods can fuck up and install a reset button, even great DMs aren’t perfect? I don’t like fudging rolls so I had to think of a clever way to make it seem like Death itself(Kelemvor, if you will) was giving them mulligans.
Then we partied in the tavern again and her character once again made slightly less than a mountain of gold by gambling and my best friend’s character broke even. They found a royal missive asking for experienced adventurers to join an expedition to an island to investigate some strange goings on. They decide to head to a new location to hop on a boat headed for the island. On the way out of town they ran into Grabstab and allowed him to join them for the next part of the adventure.
They fought an ambush of giant wasps. Grabstab even delivered the killing blow to one of them. The fight was mostly interesting because it was on horseback while pulling a cart and the wasps could just barely close distance at full speed, it made for an action packed fight. The players even tried to get away at first, and their speed turned out to be the thing that saved them.
That was the session. I established a homebrewed world, had them hunt monsters that were in their own right the mystery to solve, I killed a PC, brought a PC back because of divine intervention(death is my employee and does what I want), and I gave them a companion character with a wacky personality.
We plan on continuing in discord, maybe in a month or two. I feel like I impressed them though, I could tell they were enjoying their time in my world.
In hindsight; convincing them to have a companion character would have been better to do sooner, I could have used it to save a character from death before having to blow a secret deus ex machina. Also, the cultists were searching for them in the background right after they entered the first town, I could have warned them that they were being hunted, it may have derailed things but at least the ambush would have been better justified. The Night Hag was a good fight, and the bleakness of the result of that quest could have been fixed, I’m thinking about having the Night Hag’s sisters strike back at some point and somehow they save more children than just the one. And I should be clear that a commoner has 4hp and a rock to the head can kill them.
If you’re ever interested in DMing I suggest you put yourself into it with the best intentions. Players will end up doing things you don’t expect, like holding their ground and fighting to their death, if you think you’re putting them in too much danger find a way to save them before they are dead, not after, I’m fine with the way I fixed it because it’s what I wanted to do eventually but I wanted to hold onto it for after a bigger fight than where I used it.
This experience was supposed to be my masterpiece but it really taught me that I have a long way to go before I’m we’re I want to be as a DM. But all the same, I appreciate my DMs more than ever. And if you are worried you might not be ready my advice is to try it out and be surprised. I wasn’t a failure, but I gotta work on this campaign for next time I run it, I know I can’t get it just right, and my players still seem invested. I can say that I’ve gotten pretty good at eyeballing the challenge rating of a fight at least. I could have killed both of them if I decided to put more than one Hag in the second quest and they reasonably could have beaten the cultists but one of them being overwhelmed without knowing it is something I didn’t see coming.

Summary: Aizawa Shouta had a good life. He was a happily married pro-hero teacher, had two cats that loved to make his life difficult, and soon, if things went well, he would have Shinsou Hitoshi as a son. Thanks to an unexpected attack by a man with the League of Villains, though, Shouta is turned into a cat. While he had a fondness for cats, that never meant he wanted to be one, especially when no one seems to recognize him and his friends and family are trying to find him when he’s right there.
He had been planning to find a way to change back, but instead he ends up following Shinsou Hitoshi to the foster home he lives in after hearing some worrying information from the teen himself. Shouta himself was guilty of venting his frustrations to cats, but hearing that Hitoshi would be locked outside in the cold if he was late getting home was just another clue among countless that something was wrong. He has to get back to normal, but he’d be a poor hero and a shit father-to-be if he didn’t follow the kid and make sure he was okay.
Besides, quirks like this usually had a time limit. Right?
              <<First Chapter>><<Previous Chapter>><<Next Chapter>>
                                              Chapter Three
‘Alright, kid, if you have a secret secondary quirk that deals with hearing the thoughts of cats, now would be a great time to tell me about it.’ Shouta thought the words as loud as possible, unsurprised and yet still disappointed when Hitoshi scratched under Shouta’s chin as if he really was nothing except another street cat. ‘I don’t look that different as a cat, do I?’
“You’ve been through a lot too, huh?” Hitoshi’s voice was soft and quiet, Shouta frowning when the kid brushed over the scar under his eye. ‘Too,’ he had said. Shouta didn’t like that. “It’s okay. The scars always fade away eventually.”
Okay, that Shouta really didn’t like. He knew Hitoshi had a rough past with the way he spoke about some things, but the kid was so walled off it was hard to get anything personal out of him. Hizashi liked to call it karma, but Shouta was scared with how much of himself he saw in Hitoshi some days.
“Oh, hang on, I got just the thing for you!” Hitoshi moved to sit in the middle of the sidewalk as if he couldn’t care less, Shouta wishing he could laugh as he saw Hitoshi dig around in his bag before pulling out cat treats with a wide smile. “I feed the strays I see from time to time, so I always make sure to have a few treats on me. What do you say, buddy, want some?”
Right. Hitoshi, his student that he had a great deal of parental feelings for, was attempting to feed him cat treats. Blinking up at Hitoshi, and seeing the kid look so cautiously hopeful to the point he was holding his breath, Shouta withheld a sigh and moved forward to eat a few of the treats.
Really, it was a logical decision. His body was exhausted and, while this may be an entirely different story if he were human, the cat treats would go a long way in restoring his energy and settling his hunger. It had been almost a full day since he had last eaten anything, after all, and this was better than nothing.
If part of the reason he did it was so Hitoshi would look a little less worn down and tired, well, no one had to know that except him and maybe Hizashi when this mess was over.
“You’re pretty lucky, kitty. I usually leave earlier than this, but today has been… pretty bad.” The dark tone of voice had Shouta feeling more of those parental type feelings.
Since he couldn’t sit by the kid and offer him silent support, he settled for pawing at Hitoshi’s knee and giving a warbling meow that had him wincing. Honestly, how did people think he was an actual cat?
“Thanks for trying to make me feel better.” Hitoshi offered him more cat treats and a tired smile, Shouta only eating the treats to try and cheer Hitoshi up. “My…” Hitoshi trailed off, looking away for a moment before pushing out a sigh. “My teacher, Aizawa-sensei, is missing. He’s a pro hero who was on patrol last night and he didn’t come back.”
‘Oh, kid…’ No wonder Hitoshi looked stressed and worried. Shouta knew his homeroom was no doubt running amok and attempting to confront the villain that had done this to him, but he had hoped Hitoshi wouldn’t have to deal with the stress of this. ‘And I can’t even tell you I’m alright, huh?’
“It’s actually pretty funny.” The smile Hitoshi had on was hollow and fake and seemed to be a mirror image of the smiles Shouta once gave to Hizashi. “I didn’t learn about it until later, because, see, I train with him, right? He’s training me to get into the Hero course, so we train after school and he teaches me… everything, pretty much. He’s never late, though, but he was today. He was late and then half an hour passed, and he didn’t show up and I actually thought he just got sick of dealing with me.”
‘What?! Oi, kid, I know you have as many self-worth issues as some of my students, but you have to know by now that I wouldn’t give up on you! Isn’t that obvious? Am I not obvious enough?’ Shouta’s lecture came out sounding like yowling similar to his cats when they were angry, Hitoshi only laughing instead of looking properly chastised.
“You sound like Yamada-sensei,” Hitoshi grinned, trying to distract him with another cat treat. Shouta ate it out of pity and idly wondered how many treats Hitoshi kept on him. “‘S okay, Yamada-sensei came in around the time I started thinking that. I honestly thought Aizawa-sensei was dead for a few minutes with how he looked.”
‘Oh, Hizashi,’ Shouta sighed to himself, no doubt sure that Hizashi was worrying himself to pieces over this entire mess. The USJ incident hadn’t been that long ago and Shouta still saw traces of Hizashi’s fear from that event. It was in the way he hovered next to Shouta’s right where his vision was weaker, and in the way he sometimes flinched and tensed if he couldn’t automatically spot Shouta when entering a room.
“He offered to take over my training, but we just talked, instead,” Hitoshi said, rubbing at Shouta’s cheeks and almost managing to distract Shouta. Another thing to take note of, it seemed, was that his new body responded as a cat would to outside stimulus. “It was… bad. He didn’t even have his hair spiked back or anything and he was quiet. You probably don’t know this, kitty, but Yamada-sensei is actually Present Mic. Present Mic isn’t ever quiet, but Yamada-sensei can be, sometimes. This was a bad quiet, though.”
‘Not that I’m not grateful, but why do you never talk this much when I need you to? Do I need to start attaching microphones and cameras to cats before sending them your way?’ Shouta wished he had the words to complain, settling for swatting at Hitoshi’s hands when he started getting too distracted.
“You know, kitty, sometimes I wish I wasn’t so broken.” The words startled Shouta into almost jumping, his full attention now on his kid. Hitoshi didn’t seem to notice, staring off into the distance, instead, and seemingly lost in his thoughts. Shouta wished he could just properly frown or, even better, nudge Hitoshi to go back into the school or the dorms or the spare bedroom he and Hizashi had started unconsciously cleaning and decorating for a teenage boy who loved underground heroes and cats.
When Hitoshi started to gain that frustrated look of having too many thoughts that he didn’t know how to voice, Shouta tried for another meow, headbutting Hitoshi’s shoulder, thinking to himself, ‘Sorry, kid. If I was more careful then we could be having dinner right now and you two wouldn’t be worrying so much.’
“Thanks for being such a great listener,” Hitoshi smiled, looking to come out of his thoughts as he gave Shouta another scratch before glancing at his phone, frowning the moment he did. “Sorry, kitty, I gotta get home. I’ll be locked outside if I’m late again and the temperature is supposed to drop tonight. If I get another sore throat, then my teachers will find out about it. I barely snuck by with the last one.”
‘I knew you were sick that week! You kept insisting on physical training over quirk training and refused to even talk half the time.’ Now Shouta was glad he had kept sneaking the kid vitamin water that was good for that kind of thing. ‘Honestly, you’re lucky Hizashi was so wrapped up in work that week or…’ Shouta’s thoughts trailed off into a background hum as the words Hitoshi had said finally registered.
Locked outside. Locked outside when the weather forecast, last he had checked, was supposed to be near freezing. That hadn’t been a joking tone, either. That tone was simple, tired, and so matter of fact it was like Hitoshi had been complaining about how tomorrow would be chilly instead of sunny.
“Thanks for listening to all my rambling, kitty. Maybe I’ll see you again sometime.” Hitoshi gave him a smile before pushing himself up and brushing his pants off, starting to walk away from the school.
Shouta knew, without a doubt, that he should be working on getting to Hizashi and Nedzu and contacting the police. One of them, no matter how many it took, would realize who he was eventually. It was best to get this matter over and dealt with sooner rather than later, but Hitoshi was walking away as if he had the weight of the world on his shoulders, a longing, sorrowful, tired expression that he never let others see if he could help it.
Shouta’s body was moving before he could even think, new and unfamiliar paws breaking into a quick sprint that had him catching up and falling into step beside the now startled teen.
“Oh! You wanna walk with me for a while, then?” That tired expression seemed to lighten and Shouta knew, without a doubt, that he made the right choice. Hizashi would be okay; especially once Shouta explained why he had been gone for so long, but if he let Hitoshi leave on his own now, then Shouta would be a pretty shitty father-to-be – especially after hearing something like that.
“You know, you’re pretty strange, for a cat,” Hitoshi said after a few minutes of comfortable silence. “You’re not a normal cat.” The words had Shouta perking up as he shot his head towards Hitoshi, delighted that the kid might have realized who he was, even if it had taken him a while. “You’re some sort of god in animal form, aren’t you?”
Maybe it was a good thing he was a cat, if only so Hitoshi would never know he laughed at that. It was hardly Shouta’s fault, though. He just… he had never heard Hitoshi say something so childish. It was nice. It was good. It showed the kid was more comfortable than he had been all those months ago.
Jeez, it had only been a few months, but Shouta had already latched onto the kid as much as Hitoshi had latched onto him back. It had been hard not to feel something for the kid when Shouta first saw him at that Sports Festival. Even bandaged, high on pain medication, and fighting off a burning headache, Shouta had still seen so much of himself in Shinsou Hitoshi.
Hitoshi had come so far from that suspicious, beaten down teenager that had been expecting trouble and detention when Shouta had first approached him after classes were over with a proposition. Now here he was, against all odds, laughing and joking about a ‘stray cat’ being a god in disguise.
‘Do you even realize how far you’ve come, Hitoshi?’ The kid always complained about never seeing any change in himself, but he had come so far.
“I can tell you’re laughing at me,” Hitoshi pouted, dramatic and childish as he threw his arms about much like Hizashi might to make a point. “I mean, just look at how big you are! You’re probably as tall as me- Here, c’mere, kitty.”
Hitoshi prodded and nudged at him, careful and wary in a way that spoke of being bitten by strays before. Shouta made sure to butt at his hand before standing himself up on his hind legs just to satisfy whatever tangent the kid was on now.
“See, look at that! You already come up to my chest!” Shouta… did. He knew he had been turned into a house cat, but now he was re-thinking that he might be some sort of other big cat. When standing up on his hind paws he easily reached a little below Shinsou’s chest. Shouta had to be four feet head to tail at least- Actually, maybe it was four feet without the tail. “You’re either a divine creature in animal form or a big cat that escaped from the zoo.”
‘Your guess is as good as mine, kid.’ Hopefully the quirk that had been used on him didn’t have any delayed surprises. He didn’t want to know how this could get worse. ‘Come on, Hitoshi. Let’s get you home.’
Dropping back down to all fours and giving Hitoshi a nudge to get him moving, Shouta found himself content to listen to Hitoshi ramble about his day as he started walking again, complaining about Nemuri, who was his homeroom teacher, and the sub for Hero Ethics, which was the class Shouta usually taught. Hitoshi seemed to have so much to say and, luckily for them both, Shouta had a knack for listening to chatterboxes ramble about their day.
As they walked, though, Shouta couldn’t help but to think about how much better it would be if he was able to respond back, Hizashi on Hitoshi’s other side and adding to his stories to blow them even more out of proportion.
One thing was for certain; Shouta needed to find a way out of this mess.

Unsustainable - (3/9)
Tumblr media
!Disclaimer: I do NOT ship the people on the banner or any gifs showing up in the fanfic. They helped me visualize and are part of my writing experience. Much love for Tom Holland & Cody Christian!
Summary: An accident happened in which the reader has gotten powers. The reader is struggling to adjust to his new powers but also to keep them secret from Peter as they become closer.
Pairings: Peter Parker x Male Reader
Word count: 2635
The following days went by as any school day. Although the nosebleeds were still present, nothing else seemed wrong. On the other hand, the Raven came around from time to time, still not clear to what purpose. But it didn’t speak anymore, it watched but ignore you at the same time. While you visited Peter, May wouldn't let the opportunity pass to help you with the nosebleeds. She was convinced her homeopathic ointments would work. In great lengths, she'd explain the different flowers and what industrial giants use to poison us. Although Peter was ashamed of her at times. She was a loving and caring woman, not only for Peter. Laying on the couch, she would apply salves and ointments in and around your nose. She was convinced it worked. As soon as she's finished you quickly continue to Peter’s room, Peter looking ashamed of his aunt. But afterward making fun of the weird smell. At that point, you couldn't smell anything. If that was the only aftereffect. Returning home the trembles returned once again, and more severe. For all certainty, this wasn't caused by Aunt May's salves, but this couldn’t go on. The trembles became more severe and frequent, and even more difficult to hide. Luckily he offered help.
Unfortunately the next morning, it was something completely different. A nasty rash had formed on your nose as it burned horribly. Throughout the night, in your sleep, you probably scratched your nose repeatedly. Therefore it bled in several places as the skin looked torn open all along the nose. A nasty sight. The only way to hide this was with bandages. Or stay home…
At your locker, you gathered your stuff for the day. The burning sensation at around the nose was terrible. The urge to scratch was irresistible. The schedule for this week was on the inside of your locker door, you scanned the table as a familiar face popped up beside you.
“Morn-” Peter stopped talking, biting his lower lip while glancing at you. “Morning Peter.” You respond with a playful smile. “How are you this fine morning?” You reply with a sarcastic undertone.
“Please, tell me this is not May’s doing.”
“Nah, I shaved my nose by accident this morning.”
“Sarcasm really is your strong side isn’t it…”
“I can think of better ones.”
“C’mon man! May is really serious about this. You have to tell her!”
Tumblr media
“No! I’m not gonna tell her Peter. She tried so hard. I’d be a real bummer to her.”
In the background, the school bell rang. The halls of school just became two times as busy, students rushing from both sides. Peter took a step closer, just inches away from you to add some weight to his words. And since you were a couple of inches taller than Peter. It was more evident than ever, as he looked up to you with his puppy eyes.
“Y-You don’t understand. She asked me to invite you over tonight. If it hurts you gotta tell her.”
“It’s alright Peter, it’s just really itchy.”
"No, it's not (Y/N)! Anyone can see it's not working. Do me a favor. Please tell her.”
“What? How is this doing you a favor?”
“B-Because she has all kinds of ideas for ointments for my bruises and cuts I sometimes get from my internship. If they get the same result. I-I can’t continue doing my work there. Mr. Stark is really afraid of germs and infections. I can’t let that happen. I’ll let you smell one of them tonight. They’re horrible.”
“Wow Peter, putting the fate of your internship in my hands. Well, I guess you finally get to spend some more time with your friends after all. No running out the movie this time.” You grin as you finish up at your locker.
Peter’s wasn’t a person who’d get visibly angry. But his face spoke for itself. If he had the strength, he’d probably folded you in your locker. Like Flash and his buddies did to Peter last year.
"Get that look from your face. I'll hop by later today!”  You playfully ruffle your hand through his curly hair. “Stop it (Y/N)!” Peter responds with a grin on this face.
Suddenly Ned showed up through the crowd. He pushed himself towards Peter, pulling his hoody. "Let's go, Peter! We're gonna be late at chemistry!" Peter was grabbing at his throat, gasping for air as he's pulled into the swirling mass of students.
“See you at lunch!” You wave at them. In response you see Peter’s hand sticking above the crowd.
Lunchtime. Since it was a beautiful day, you choose to sit outside. The regular spot under the tree in the courtyard. A wooden bench surrounded the tree. The tree provided a sufficient amount of shadow for this warm day. And combined with a small breeze, the perfect spot. With the tray on your lap, you look out for the rest. MJ was home for the day, ill apparently. You send a text her way you would come by later. What followed was a stream of memes and weird gifs. She'd been texting all day, but in class, it was difficult to keep up with the spam. Slowly working your way through your lunch, continuing to text with MJ while waiting for Peter and Ned.
"P-P-Penis Parker!" Was chanted on the other side of the courtyard. Peter and Ned came through the door as Flash and his buddies waited for him. Before you get a chance to react to the situation. You see Peter pushing open the door with his tray, Flash kicking the door right back. Peter didn't see it coming and tumbled on his knees, and Ned stood behind him helplessly. Peter's tray went flying as his sandwich and drink went airborne and landed in the flower garden beside the door. Defeated he got up, looking at Flash as he and his buddies walked off laughing. Peter scuffled over to you, with a defeated look on his face. Crashing on the bench, throwing his backpack on the ground, arms crossed. "I'm sorry Peter."
“Not your fault (Y/N).” Peter lets out a big sigh, hanging his head in defeat.
You ruffle through your bag, as you pull out a couple of muesli bars and Snickers. Handing them over. “The least I can do.”
 “You shouldn’t, really.” Peter grumbled.
“I’ve got nothing left, sorry Peter.” Ned mutters as he stuffs his last sandwich in his mouth.
“Go on. Eat something. Can’t show up at your internship with an empty stomach.”
“That’s true. Thanks, you’re the best.”
“H-Hey! I thou-…” Ned replies with his mouth full.
“He’ll get what’s coming to him someday.” You look towards Flash and his buddies. Sitting on the fence, still going on about Peter. Pointing and laughing. Your mind gets clouded with thoughts that are a bit too dark for such a sunny day. If only…  You're awakened by Peter’s elbow in your side. “Stop it (Y/N). It’s fine.”
 “Lost in thoughts, that’s all…”
“You seem quite occupied these days (Y/N).” Ned looks at you.
 “How so?”
“I dunno know, you stare and gaze a lot these days. If something is bothering you.”
“Oh… No, just… a lot on my mind lately. Sorry.”
“Where were you at gymnastic anyway?” Peter turns to you.
“Don’t have to attend for a couple of months. Got some problems with my left arm. You know… from my trip.”
“You didn’t tell us.” Peter looking confused.
“Mister Jamerson wrote you up as absent.” Ned added while drinking his apple juice.
“Oh well, headmaster Mueller is aware and signed my papers.”
“So, what happened on that trip?”
"We went on a hike, and I fell, dislocated my shoulder, and pulled some muscles. Takes a couple of months to recover.”
“Sounds bad, where did you go hiking?
“Europe.” You react way too quickly. If you had it all prepared.
“O-…”
The sounds of flapping wings in the distant fill the courtyard. The conversation falls silent as the attention of the three is drawn to the other side of the courtyard. The sky above the yard was black with large birds as the sound of squawking birds became louder. Somehow a familiar call to you.
Tumblr media
“A-Are those crows?” Peter says with disbelief.
 “They’re raven.” You react instantly. “I think…”
“Where did they come from? “  Peter mumbles as the three look up at the sky. The Ravens started to circle, as out of nowhere one of them nosedives down, right at Flash. Before Flash can react the Raven spreads his wings just before he hits him. An awful screech echoes over the courtyard as the Raven darts back up and Flash tumbles down from the fence. Flash wasn't hit, but the sudden fear threw him off balance. His friends ran away the second Flash fell to the ground, leaving him alone to the flock the birds. Not that they had any means to deal with them… Terrified he looked up from the ground as the ravens circled him. For a moment he had overcome his fear as he darts back up, climbing onto the fence. One single screech from a raven unleashed a rain of pebbles. Flash hanging half onto the fence looks up as a shower of pebbles fall upon him. The students in the courtyard watch in silence as he hangs half over the fence with tears running down his face.
The ravens disperse as soon as they came. The courtyard falling silent again, only hearing Flash his snickering. He picks up his bag and runs inside avoiding eye contact with anyone, pushing students aside on his way to the door. "What the…?" Mouth open, Peter didn't finish his sentence. You hear a soft dud, and you look over to Ned as his sandwich lays flat on the floor. "That… was awesome!" Peter turning visibly annoyed to Ned. “You said you didn’t have any sandwiches left…?”
“Hah! That w-…” Ned’s excitement subsides quickly as soon as he sees Peter annoyed look towards him.
"This can't be a coincidence." Peter turns to you with a look of suspicion. "Am I right (Y/N)?"
“I don’t know Peter.” You snarled at him.
The school day went by quickly. Flash was nowhere to be seen around school. But it was definitely the talk of the day. You sat beside Peter again during math. From what you thought was suspicion in his looks, there seemed to be nothing left. The Ravens, they still kept your mind occupied. The one raven that flew down was terribly familiar.
Peter didn’t have time after school. Something had made him really enthusiastic as he ran out front excusing himself. “I have things… to do at my internship. See you guys tomorrow!” He left you standing there with Ned. You both watch Peter jog away. The blazing sun shuns down as you both stand halfway on the steps of the school entrance. Ned turns to you. “Well, I gotta catch the bus, have to go to the dentist. I’ll text you when I’m done.”
“Good luck Ned. Talk to you later!”
You wave some students goodbye you know from class as you start your way home. It's only a couple of block away. And since the weather is right, you instead take a walk back home. The sun shuns bright between the skyscrapers. You put on your favorite cap to protect your eyes from the sun. Walking home wasn’t bad, especially since your favorite corner shop was a couple blocks in-between. They served the best (your favorite flavor) milkshakes in New York. With one hand you fish ear pods out of your pockets, and as always entangled with keys and pens. After the struggle with ear pods, you plug them in and continue your way, opening Spotify up you scroll through your favorite playlist. Turning by the corner shop, you pick up your favorite milkshake and continue on your way. Down the walkway into the park. The park was covered with trees, offering much shadow from the heat of the sun. You stroll down the parkways. People lay on the grass enjoying their free time. Parents playing with their children, an elderly couple resting on benches and the usual ice-cream cart. You continue your walk down the path.
  “…You didn’t look…”
You cough violently as you almost choke on the cold stream of milkshake when you heard that dark voice from within again. Coughing hysterically you look around searching for that damn bird. It had to be the damn bird again. With watery eyes, it was difficult to take notice of any shapes. It was frustrating. You knew you couldn’t draw the attention from the other people. But you kept looking around. The damn bird could be anywhere.
 “… The bench…”
In front you down the pathway stood a wooden bench, an old garbage can sat beside it. Nothing out of the ordinary. Several feet behind the bench towered a massive oak tree. The big crude roots stuck half out of the ground which grew up into the sturdy bark turning into large looming branches. The colorful green leaves blew calmly in the wind. It stood full grown, unable to see most of the branches. You approach the bench, with one eye on the oak. Half expecting to the raven to lurk from one of the branches.
 It wasn’t…
You sit down and wait. Instinctively you remove your earbuds like you expected a conversation to happen at any moment. A flutter of wings made some noise on the left of you, as the claws hit the top of the bench. You look over and observe as the Raven lands on top of the bench. It's beak pointing straight ahead. This time it seemed more impressive than when it sat in the window. Its black figure stood proudly on the bench, long black feathers gently blowing with the wind. It was larger than any other raven you had seen, but one detail struck you more than anything else. The eye. From within the eye emitted some kind of searing red energy. Then it struck you. A familiar color. You knew that color all too well. As you mind wandered off, the raven turned its beak toward you.
“…Afraid of the truth?…” You hear from within.
“Wha-…” You try muttering a word.
“…Stop… Talk to yourself (Y/N)…Focus… Think about what you want to say… I read your thoughts…”
You hesitate for a moment. Then it struck you, the accident earlier in the courtyard. You thought about how you wanted to punch Flash so hard, make him pay for what he did to Peter. Peter always was a scapegoat for Flash and his friend. They didn’t bother Peter when you were around. But they always found a way to bully Peter, or Ned. But seeing Peter being bullied over and over again was painstakingly difficult not to act out revenge some time. But Flash had more friends then you could probably handle. Someday... But did... Did the ravens act…?
 “…You are right. We did…”
You look around the park. No one seemed to have noticed the Raven and you. Must have been a weird sight you think to yourself. A single guy chilling with a raven in bright daylight. You sink back deep in thoughts staring across the parks green grass. This Raven has to have answers to your questions. What are you anyway? What binds this raven to you? Did you become a druid of some sort? Weird…
“…All in due time. For now, beware of Peter...”
What has Peter to do with any of this?
“…He’s onto something (Y/N)…How is your left arm…”
“…Master…”
What? What did it just say? How did it know? Master? Since when? How?
“…I was affected by the same thing… In that alleyway…”

I was tagged by @echokomazgeda over on my main blog- @halsey-nightmare - but I’m doing it here ‘cause this is my most fandom-centric blog! Goin’ under a cut since it’s so long. Thanks so much for the tag!!
MY SHOWS (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER) :
Broad City
The 100
Runaways
Chambers
The Haunting of Hill House
QUESTIONS:
1. who is your favorite character in 2?
Octavia Blake, my butterfly warrior queen angst child.
2. who is your least favorite character in 1?
Gosh, I don’t know if I have a least favorite. I guess Bevvers, because he’s kind of there for you to hate him, lmao. But even he turns out pretty funny and endearing by the end.
3. what is your favorite episode of 4?
The finale, specifically the scenes of Sasha and Becky fighting for control of their heart.
4. what is your favorite season of 5?
There’s only been one, so far. It was incredible, maybe my favorite piece of media in the past few years. If you like scary stuff, watching The Haunting of Hill House!
5. who is your favorite couple in 3?
Absolutely Deanoru, hands down. They’re the whole reason I started watching. My gloomy goth girl and her sunny princess sweetheart.
6. who is your favorite couple in 2?
Of the currently surviving couples, it’s a pretty stiff tie between Memori and Becho. Of the sunken ships, it’s Clexa and Linctavia.
7. what is your favorite episode in 1?
That’s almost impossible, there are SO many good ones. I love the Hurricane Wanda episode. I love the one where they do shrooms and fuck up their professional lives. I really love the one where Ilana is taking care of Abby, after she gets her wisdom teeth removed. There are instant classics in every season.
8. what is your favorite episode of 5?
“Two Storms” obviously. The way it’s all done in five long, constant takes, with zero cuts. Knowing how complicated and difficult it was to get it done on time and with the right equipment. The actors all doing incredibly. It’s like, a perfect piece of television.
9. what is your favorite season of 2?
I liked season 2 and 3 a lot. I have a soft spot for season 5.
10. how long have you watched 1?
Gosh, I think the second season was out. So like four years? It’s over now, but I’ll always go back to it when I need a pick-me-up.
11. how did you become interested in 3?
I owe it all to tumblr, and the wlw who posted about Deanoru. Sapphic characters pull me into a show like nothing else will.
12. who is your favorite actor in 4?
Sivan Alyra Rose is amazing in her role as Sasha Yazzie. She’s also the very first Native American person to have a starring role in a major television production. I cannot recommend Chambers enough, tbh.
13. which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?
They’re very, very different shows. If you told me I could only watch one forever...probably Broad City. But that’s only because it’s such a happy, uplifting, silly show.
14. which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?
Broad City! Only because it has more episodes.
15. if you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
I don’t know if I would want to go anywhere near that horror show of a town, tbh. I guess I’d pick Yvonne, since she’s a computer genius and she’s sapphic.
16. would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?
Weirdly enough...maybe?? With how Chambers ends, the powers the kids in Runaways have wouldn’t be so far-fetched. And I think Sasha would really like the Runaways, especially Nico.
17. pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple
Ilana and Bevvers. Two total weirdos, socially awkward, but strangely charming and authentic? There’s a reason they become good friends by the end.
18. overall, which story has the better storyline, 3 or 5?
The Haunting of Hill House is a goddamn masterpiece. The slow reveal around Nellie’s ghosts and demons, the deep-dives into each of the lives of the siblings, the flashing back between past and present to connect their history with their current situation...it’s dope, dude.
19. which has the better theme music, 2 or 4?
I don’t really remember Chambers having a theme song, but I hate The 100′s theme, so I gotta go with Chambers, lol. Chambers has the better soundtrack in general.
As usual, only do this is if you want to! Tagging: @twinzmoon @boomheda @osleyakomwonkru @bellarke-addict @blodkru @tiredmoonslut and anyone else who sees this and wants to do it! Just say you stole it from me (or don’t, I didn’t write it, lmao, but I’d love to see your answers!)

Hey!! Love your writing and I'm so excited for all the one piece that's about to show up! To start off, would you mind doing romantic hc's for ya favs? I know there's so many so to cut down how about the top three?
beautiful thank u I love this
Law
•Law isn’t inherently romantic, but he definitely has his moments. He’s a pretty emotional guy when it comes down to it, so he’s bound to let some of that emotion out, and it takes the form of romance when he wants to let his partner know how he feels
•It’s mostly in private he’ll get ‘romantic’. That basically means intimate. He’s kinda touchy? Holding his s/o’s hand, brushing their hair, stroking an arm or a thigh (trying to make it as non-sexual as possible but he’s got that cute smirk on his face which just ends up making it sexual so yeah good job Law). Even if it’s just a small physical connection, it’s nice. It relaxes him
•But those smirks and smiles!!! Law has such a relaxed, loving smile, only meant for his s/o. It’s so cute???
•Law also shows affection and romance through his leniency? Like, he’ll do things for his s/o that he wouldn’t do for other people
•You’ve been craving some sort of food that they don’t currently have on board? Law will have Penguin or Shachi go ashore to a market and find it. Law will surprise you by having it made for your dinner, though he doesn’t let on to the fact it was meant to be a surprise. His deeds go unnoticed, and he likes it better that way. He gets a little shy when he’s praised for romantic gestures
•He likes joining his s/o out on the deck of the his submarine on nice nights when the rest of the crew is asleep. There they get to just relax, look at the water, the stars, talk about deep things, make jokes, etc. Law likes those heartfelt moments
•Comfortable alcohol nights with his s/o. Not heavy drinking, just sipping on some beer or something and relaxing together
•Being a doctor and all, he feels it’s his responsibility to make sure his s/o is always in good health which means they’re getting some intense chiropractic treatment if Law feels it’s necessary. So yeah they’re getting lots of massages. He knows it’s relaxing for his s/o, and it feels good, so he’s willing to put those amazing hands to good use and let them get treated every once in a while (he tries to keep it innocent). They make small talk, but Law mostly wants them to stay silent and just relax into his hands, let him do all the work
Ace
•Ace’s idea of being romantic includes literally being his s/o’s slave. Will do anything for them. Whatever, whenever, wherever. Literally anything. It’s pretty great? But also a cry for help lmao. He does it in a ‘please I will do anything for you just let me love you’ way. This man has a lot of love to give please have mercy on him
•He takes his s/o out on little trips to the nearest island pretty often. Just the two of them on his lil boat, relaxing out near the shore. Sometimes they’ll even travel far to new islands when Ace isn’t constrained by Whitebeard duties
•He gets romantic during playful moments? And vice versa. He’s just a playful guy, and romance makes him all giddy sometimes. Ace and his s/o lie in bed together all cuddled up, making fun of each other, making fun of other people (Marco and Thatch mostly), TICKLE FIGHTS, just a bunch of laughing and giggling, all that cute stuff
•Probably gets his s/o’s initials tattooed on him somewhere at one point. He can’t help it. He knows he’ll probably get yelled at and teased by his crew, but he doesn’t care. He wants his s/o’s name on him? Like hell yeah?? I’m yours?? That’s romantic to him
•Ace is also very romantic when he’s drunk off his ass. You can’t pry him off of you. He just keeps telling you how great you are and that he loves you and that you’re amazing. He’ll probably throw up on you or fall asleep on you but it be like that sometimes
•Lots of cuddles and napping together, especially after Ace hasn’t seen his s/o for a long time. He has a difficult time keeping his hands off of them when he’s missed them so much
•He’s always bragging about his s/o and hyping them up, especially when it comes to something they’re proud of, like a hobby of theirs. Even if it’s just bragging about how smart they are, how creative they are, even just how good-looking they are omg
•Ok but Ace taking his s/o back to Foosha Village and getting to show off his new boo to everyone. Busting into Makino’s bar like “MAKINO LOOK WHAT I GOT”. He’s gotta show his s/o off in every corner of the ocean I guess
Sanji
•He always jumps at the chance to be a romantic dork for his s/o. He doesn’t care how goofy or sappy he looks. As long as his s/o is happy, that’s all that matters
•He has a soft spot for slow dancing okay. He knows it’s old fashioned but he knows how to slow dance really well and jumps at the chance to teach his s/o
•Sanji prepares soothing bubble baths for his s/o almost every night, with sweet-smelling oils and soaps, candles lit everywhere. And a bottle of wine waiting. He’s so extra. He won’t insist on joining them but if they ask… who is he to say no??
•Obviously when it comes to cooking, he will only serve his s/o the best food. Sometimes even better than what Nami and Robin get. Sorry ladies. But Sanji literally spends HOURS thinking of recipes to serve his boo. He legit has a full-course meal plan for his s/o every single day
•His s/o always gets breakfast in bed by the way. ALWAYS. Sanji gets up at the crack of dawn just to make it
•Would also love to teach his s/o how to cook one day?? He knows that’s his job but cooking lessons could be fun
•If he’s away from his s/o for a while, he calls them up (on their matching Den Den Mushi ok) and acts so afflicted, like their absence is just unbearable. Whining and fake crying, the works. Everyone on the Sunny gets a headache
•He has pictures of his s/o all over his kitchen. Literally, all over. If his s/o has a bounty, the bounty posters are up too. The Straw Hats walk into the kitchen and feel like they just entered a shrine for Sanji’s s/o. And if they complain about it, Sanji gets all defensive. He claims seeing his s/o everywhere keeps him motivated
•He of course has the worst but sweetest nicknames for his s/o. Sweety, darling, baby, honey, etc. So cheesy, but he can’t help it

The Deification of Jason Gideon - Part Two
A/N: Part two of my entry for Loki’s ( @jodiewhittakers ) writing challenge! Part One can be found here
The conversation with JJ rocketed around Emily’s mind like a pinball, slamming into her skull with a ferocity that she begrudged. He wasn’t worth that pain, at least not to her and yet in a way she was the same as her teammates - completely bound to Gideon despite the fact he’d abandoned her too.
Despite the fact that he was dead.
Sleep was a long time coming and the greasy breakfast and bitter coffee the next morning couldn’t make up for that. The funeral wasn’t until the next day but Emily didn’t want to spend another minute beatifying the dead man. That was the only thing the team seemed to want to do though so after breakfast she dressed and dragged herself over to Rossi’s. She was going to claim a jet lag induced headache for leaving without warning yesterday. Emily knew full well that JJ wouldn’t have told anyone what she said, neither would Hotch.
Because they care about this family
Unlike Gideon
Unlike me?
Gideon left them
So did I, twice...
That wasn’t the same.
Wasn’t it?
Emily sat in the rental car outside of Rossi’s house, unable to move. Was that really at the heart of this? Guilt over moving to London manifesting as anger towards Gideon? She hated him because she hated herself?
It wasn’t the same. It wasn’t the same. It wasn’t the same. It wasn’t-
A tap on the window brought Emily back to earth. Reid waved awkwardly, Emily half started to wave back until she realised he was gesturing for her to wind down the window. God she needed more coffee, like an IV full...
“Are you okay?” Reid bit his lip.
“Tired” said Emily “Flight was hell and the hotel mattress is really lumpy. You’d think I’d be used to it by now but...”
She trailed off, shrinking back into the seat slightly under Reid’s disbelieving look. He opened his mouth to speak and then closed it again.
“I’m sorry for running off yesterday” said Emily, to fill the gap. Reid nodded.
“It’s okay. I get it”
You really don’t
“Thanks Reid”
“You know as nice as this car is” he said with a smile “It’s nicer inside. Plus Rossi and Garcia are cooking brunch”
“Together?”
“Not exactly” said Reid as Emily climbed out “Rossi apparently has strong views on vegetarian sausages and Garcia’s sandwich fillings are...unique.”
“I’ve gotta see this” laughed Emily. As the two of them headed inside Emily tried to figure out if she felt lighter seeing her friends or whether it increased her apprehension. When Reid awkwardly slipped an arm round her shoulder and gave a reassuring squeeze she decided it was the former.
“Thanks” mumbled Emily. Reid didn’t reply, he just flashed her a wobbly, watery smile as the headed inside.
Hotch and JJ had talked. It was clear by their subtle tag teaming to steer the conversation into different directions whenever they came close to the subject of Gideon. He wasn’t disregarded completely but the two of them managed to act as a buffer against wallowing.
There were four messages on Emily’s phone from Mateo Cruz, all about the eulogy. Emily hadn’t replied. Instead she had helped Garcia prepare a lentil and quinoa salad and berate Morgan as he whined about the lack of meat.
“I can make corn beef hash to make it up to you” promised Emily, which finally got him to quit. That and Rossi’s perfectly cooked bacon.
The atmosphere was less tense and more like old times now and Emily let herself start to feel safe again as Reid rambled on about the history of cooked breakfasts in cultures around the world and Hotch shared his views on the only decent way to make an omelette.
These beautiful, broken, caring people.
Her family.
When Reid summoned a pack of cards seemingly out of nowhere and the group  moved to the lounge to play, Hotch tapped her on the arm. They hung back unnoticed, waiting for everyone to leave.
“Look” said Emily when they were finally alone “About what I said yesterday-”
Hotch held up a hand.
“I get it Emily, I really do. It hurts and it’s frustrating and it feels hollow but right now it’s what they need.”
“Need or want Hotch?” asked Emily “They’re re-writing their history with him.”
Hotch nodded, a sad and almost resigned look on his face.
“Gideon could be a bastard” he said “He did a lot of good things for the bureau and for the team but he could also be selfish and petty and careless with people’s feelings.”
“Like me?” Emily asked. Hotch frowned and then he let out a short, laugh.
“How the hell is that funny?”
“Never thought I would hear you compare yourself to Gideon” chuckled Hotch “God the first time you were sent out with him, you and Reid went with him to Guantanamo. He really didn’t want to take you.”
“Yeah that was clear” said Emily.
“You produced your go bag out of thin air, he was stuck. You corrected him on the plane - oh yeah he made a point of telling me that. He also told me how you beat him at chess on the way back”
“Twice” said Emily “He made us all prove ourselves to him. Not as agents or profilers. That’s our job, I get having to prove you can do that. Gideon wanted us to prove we were worthy of his attention, his consideration. Well none of us proved we were worthy of his compassion or his respect did we?”
“I know it must have seemed that way to you” said Hotch and he continued before Emily could protest”And yeah he did come across cold, he didn’t let people in but you need to remember you were the only team member who didn’t work with him before the Adrian Bale case.”
Emily fell silent which Hotch took as a cue to continue.
“It messed him up Emily, more than you could possibly know. Six agents that Gideon knew personally, that we worked side by side with each day were killed in front of him because he got it wrong. Six families lost a parents, a child, a sibling. Six friends died. Six potential lives snuffed out and six more of those photos on the wall all because he made the wrong call.”
Emily knew, she’d spent years walking past those photos each day and she had heard the story about the botched hostage negotiation a thousand times.
“We all have that one case” sighed Hotch “The Reaper, Tobias Hankle, Carl Buford...Ian Doyle. We’re all haunted and broken and gnawed at by monsters that we face down. When Gideon faced his monster down he was devoured along with people he felt it was his duty to protect. The bureau wasn’t big on making sure its agents were supported back then. Why do you think he acted the way he did with Reid’s addiction? It was the way he was helped.”
Emily just stood there feeling simultaneously untethered and pressed down under a heavy weight.
“I’m not saying he didn’t do anything wrong” finished Hotch, softly “I just ask that you don’t judge him for his weakness as it measures against your own strength.”
He didn’t wait for her to reply but instead headed back to the lounge to watch the argument that the card game had inevitably descended into. Emily was left alone in the kitchen, a slight chill in the air and something stuck in the back of her throat that tasted almost like grief.
It was sunny which struck Emily as inappropriate for a funeral. Morgan had told her that when they had buried her own empty coffin years ago it had also been a nice day. Garcia had taken that as a sign at the time that Emily had been watching them, later on she took it as a sign from the universe that they didn’t need to mourn. Emily wasn’t sure which one of those applied to today.
There was a large crowd at the cemetery but most of them were FBI personnel. The top brass were making a show of things. Cruz was up at the front, offering Gideon’s son his condolences. As he stepped away he caught Emily’s eye.
“You’re a difficult person to get a hold of” he said, striding up to her.
“I needed to be with my team” said Emily, her chin sticking out, hands on her hips.
“It would be good if you could say a few words as a representative of a foreign agency. It doesn’t have to be much but it would go down very well”
“For all the observers. Gotta have the right optics.”
“Is that a no?” asked Cruz.
“I can say a few words” said Emily “I’m not making a speech though. Just a few words.” Cruz nodded and headed back towards the front as people began to take their seats. Emily sat between Garcia and Hotch. Hotch gave a small nod and Garcia clasped her hand tightly and gave her a reassuring smile through her own tears. On her other side Garcia was holding on to Reid’s hand equally tightly.
The service started with an overview of Gideon’s life, his family and his work founding the BAU. His son got up and talked about having him as a father, how it wasn’t always the easiest thing in the world but how important he knew Gideon’s work was not just to the bureau but to the people he’d saved.
After that Rossi stood up and talked about their early days working together, the long trips and lonely nights. How they had to fight for recognition and how half the time it felt they were making things up as the went along and how proud Gideon would be to see how far it had come since then.
Reid declined to speak, finding the whole thing too difficult so finally Emily took to the podium. The walk up felt like the longest of her life, the only sounds were the birds in the trees and the gravel crunching beneath her feet. Was her breathing loud or was it the absence of other noise?
When she got up there Emily looked out at the sea of faces, a hundred pairs of eyes all looking at her with expectation. Hotch and JJ looked worried, Reid and Garcia hopeful and Rossi and Morgan had small, reassuring smiles on their faces.
The birds carried on singing and she wondered what type they were. Were they song birds?
Gideon would know.
Emily took a deep breath to steady herself before she began.
“I worked with Jason Gideon for roughly a year” she said “his reputation preceded him and I was keenly aware going into the BAU that he was a man who held agents to high, even impossible standards, who didn’t suffer fools gladly and who had an unrivalled knowledge about the behaviours and emotions that drive us as humans, while not always being sensitive to those”
The crowd was silent apart from one, awkward cough at the back. Emily swallowed. JJ had closed her eyes, hands clasped in front of her. Sunlight was bouncing off the white, glossy casket, half shining in Emily’s eyes. The anger in her belly had cooled to a low, sour simmer.
“There’s a line from one of my favourite stories - ‘Most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally evil, but by people being fundamentally people’. Jason Gideon was fundamentally a person, he was so utterly human, more so than anyone I’ve ever met. He taught me a lot and some of those lessons I think may have even been intentional. He taught me about how you should and shouldn’t treat your family, the people you love and care about, the people you would die for.”
Her gaze rested on the BAU, hands clasped and eyes shiny with tears, every last one of them.
“They were important lessons” finished Emily.
“Was that Dickens?” asked Rossi, coming up behind her along with the rest of the team. Everyone was heading to a nearby conference hall for food and drink and Emily fell into line with everyone else.
“It was Good Omens” said Reid.
“It was either that or ‘There never was an apple, that wasn't worth the trouble you got into for eating it.” It seemed the more appropriate of the two” said Emily with a small shrug.
“When we fake buried you, Reid read Wordsworth” said Rossi “It was beautiful”
“Really? Thank you” said Emily “Which one?”
“We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind; In the primal sympathy, which having been must ever be” quoted Reid, slipping his arm round Garcia’s shoulders as she began sniffling again.
“No one is allowed to die from now on” she said, wiping ther eyes with her lacy sleeve “I mean it, I’m not having it. Any of you die and I’ll kill you”
“I’ve had one funeral” laughed Emily “That’s enough. I’ll just live forever now.”
“How are you holding up?” asked Hotch as he and Emily slowly fell behind the rest of the team, “I know that must have been hard for you”
“I told the truth” said Emily
“Phrased in a palatable way?”
“Even I wouldn’t derail a funeral” said Emily “Anyway, I did it for my family”
“You aren’t like him Emily”
“Neither are you Hotch”
He smiled at her and offered his arm and together they walked after their family in the sunshine.

Archenemy: Glenn Howerton On Menacing Joe Manganiello
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
As eager comic movie fans wait for Marvel to roll out Phase Four, or for Wonder Woman 1984 to hit HBO Max; RJLE Films has a superhero sleeper of its own coming to screens on Dec. 11. Adam Egypt Mortimer’s Archenemy is the story of Max Fist (Joe Manganiello), a one-person crime fighting phenomenon, now powerless and sent to our dimension to live on the streets. Though Max’s homeless life might be bleak and muted, the film is full of colorful and outrageous characters. The larger-than-life menace that looms over Max is “The Manager”. A mustachioed, golden blonde Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, A.P. Bio) brings this 21st century crime boss to life. Think of him as Michael Corleone, by way of Urban Outfitters.
Stepping into the shoes of an overbearing, take no prisoners, big bad is a new venture for Howerton. It didn’t deter him one bit though, as we learned in our exclusive talk with the actor about the difference between living with a character for 15 years (Dennis of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) to having to create a lifetime for one you only inhabit for a short shoot. What follows is our discussion with Glenn Howerton about bringing The Manager to life, and what it takes to create quality entertainment. Oh, and be sure to read Howerton’s thoughts on the Four Seasons Total Landscaping fiasco over here.
DEN OF GEEK: It’s always nice to see you do pretty much anything but it’s great to see you as this fun, out-of-the-box kind of villain.
GLENN HOWERTON: Thank you, I appreciate it. It’s so fun to play bad guys. I know every actor says that but it really is true, it’s just a chance to follow your worst impulses as a human being. It’s like you’re getting to exercise a part of yourself that you can’t in your normal life because you want to be a good person, hopefully.
Well I also feel like this is the kind of the character that you can also create a very large backstory for.
Yeah, for sure. I think it’s difficult when you get used to working in television because with a character, it would be easy to forget that the reason I know how to play Dennis so well (depending on how well you consider I play the character) is because I’ve gotten to live with this guy for 15 years. I also created the character, I wrote the character so I know that character inside and out. I know that if an improvisation were to break out I would know how to answer as Dennis. That’s how well I know the character, because I know how he would react in any situation.
With a film, you don’t have that luxury. Knowing what makes him tick, knowing what his buttons are…you want to know all that stuff so when you show up to the set no matter what gets thrown at you, you can react in character. I didn’t want it to feel like something that I’d done before so I spent a lot of time talking to Adam Egypt Mortimer. We spent countless hours talking about the character and thinking about it myself and just going over it, and over it, and over it, and over it. Which is not something I normally do, but it’s also not something I normally need to do, because most of my work has been in television.
This is also the type of film where you need a certain confidence in the filmmaker, or it’s going to end up on an episode of Paul Scheer’s How Did This Get Made? What gave you that faith in Adam, for all this?
I had faith in Adam for multiple reasons. One, I’d seen the movie that he made right before this, Daniel Isn’t Real, and loved it. I just thought it was beautiful. It was really moving, and horrifying, and scary, and real, and worked on multiple levels. Then just sitting down with Adam and talking to him about this, I was like, “This guy has a vision for this.” The way he talked about the movie, the way he talked about shooting it, the way he saw the script, the way he saw the world, the way he described it – this guy has definitely got a vision for this. It might be really strange and it might be really odd, but I like really strange and odd things. I didn’t get the impression that there was any world in which it was going to be bad.
Adam’s still technically an up-and-coming filmmaker. So it must be nice to work with someone who is at the point where he could really take chances.
I don’t understand where his confidence comes from. Because as you say, he doesn’t have a ton of films under his belt and we didn’t have a lot of time to shoot this movie, or a big budget to shoot this movie.
As a matter of fact, I’ll give you a perfect example. The very first day that I showed up to set, we were supposed to shoot a scene where we pull up, and we grab Hamster (Skylan Brooks), and throw him in the car. Skylan was super, super sick, and couldn’t show up that day. But we couldn’t afford to lose a day of shooting. So Adam, that morning or late the night before, wrote a whole new scene for me and Amy Seimetz to do.
If you’ve seen the movie it’s the scene where we’re sitting in the car, and we’re talking for a while and then at the end of that scene I go and bash Hamster on the head, and that was just Skylan’s stunt double. We had to conceive of something, pretty much in the moment. Then when we got the script on the day, Adam was like, “I don’t think this totally works,” and me and Amy sat and rewrote it. We really had to be on our toes. But I wouldn’t have been able to do that had I not known the character as well as I felt like I did.
We’ve seen you do action and something like a shootout before, but I’ve never seen you do it in such a smooth and kind of serious aspect. Do all those previous experiences meld into this or is it a different type of training you need to delve into?
I think it’s a product of a few things. I didn’t start out in comedy. I always did comedy, but I really started out down a much more dramatic path. So my approach to comedy has always been a little bit more like the Alec Baldwin approach. It’s really no less real when it’s funny, than when it’s a drama. It’s a really just a slight click of the dial one way or the other where that makes it funny, or serious. That can be kind of a thin line between the two. I’ve always come from a dramatic point of view like making the needs of the character, very, very real. It’s just that when you’re writing it or when the conceits of the character are so ridiculous, that’s what makes it funny – instead of doing some sort of goofy-ass performance.
Then to kind of click over into drama – I mean it’s definitely challenging and it was definitely scary. I think the scariest thing for me in doing something this dramatic was the fact that I’m not a menacing person in real life at all. I’m 155 pounds and Joe Manganiello is 200 pounds of pure muscle, six-foot-four, and audiences have to be able to watch the movie and go, “Joe Manganiello’s character has to be scared of that guy.” Or at least within the world of crime…I’m a crime boss I have to be intimidating to other criminals. That was a little scary for me because I haven’t been asked to do anything like that in a long time, but it was fun.
I gotta say, you definitely had the best running in a different direction while shooting behind you pose I’ve ever seen. It was very smooth.
That was one of those things where Adam asked me to do that and I was like, “Oh my god…” In my head it’s like I went back to being a kid and thought about watching you Die Hard or watching action movies and I was like, “Oh shit, I forgot I’ve always wanted to do that.” I’ve always wanted to do an action scene where I get to shoot a gun and run around doing action-y stuff. It was like playing and being a kid again. It was so, so fun.
During these pandemic times do you find yourself honing different skills like that on your own? Getting yourself ready for when things can return to normal.
I don’t know if other actors do this but I’m a little bit insane. When I read scripts, I often find myself acting them as multiple characters. Even if I’m watching a movie, and I’m by myself; I’ll pause and sort of take on the persona of the character. I’m getting very personal here, this is really nutty behavior for the average person. But as an actor, I really do kind of get off by climbing into the skin of somebody else and just getting to think a different way and behave a different way and I’ve always been obsessed with that ever since I was a kid. Just understanding the psychology behind how someone can behave the way they behave.
I talk about the pandemic as if the world seems to be shut down, but obviously you guys are still getting scripts and you’re still writing. For instance, has it led to any delays in the scripts for season 15 of Sunny?
No, it’s not, because Rob has been working on the second season of Mythic Quest. I’ve just been working on other things, developing other projects that I’m excited about, finishing a script that I’m writing with a writing partner. I’m mostly focusing on reading a lot and writing a lot and kind of studying the craft of screenwriting because I kind of fell into it.
I certainly didn’t have any training but when I’m writing I want to live up to … I take what I do very seriously. I don’t take it for granted that I’ve been offered the privilege of being able to write scripts, so I want to be good at it. I want to know what I’m doing. I don’t want other screenwriters who actually studied and worked hard to become screenwriters to look at what I do and go, “This guy’s just kind of sailing through it.” I want to be educated.
I mean that’s the way to do it right? Even when you consider something like, for lack of better term; slapstick. Doing it right means having the training behind it.
There’s of course nothing wrong with being naturally talented at something. There are a lot of naturally gifted actors who can just kind of do it. Or for whatever reason they’re just good at it. They didn’t have to go to Juilliard to get good at acting.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
That was Brando’s thing, right?
Yeah, and there’s nothing wrong with that. What I do have a problem with is if there’s a sort of an inability to acknowledge that it might be easy for you but it’s not just because the craft of acting is easy. I would also argue that you might be an extraordinarily gifted actor naturally without training, but you’re probably only good at one thing. You might be able to be really good at writing comedy but if you haven’t studied the art of screenwriting, you’re probably not going to be able to write a drama. Whatever you lack in terms of your knowledge of structure, you might be able to make up for a lot of that if you’re super super funny and you can write a comedy, but you won’t be able to do that if you’re writing something else. I like to do a wide variety of things. I like to write screenplays, I like to write TV, I like to work in drama and comedy. I like to work in a lot of different genres; so it keeps me on my toes.

Hi. Just read your passionate defense of Karen Page. I gotta tell you, your insight into Karen's internal thinking process is so well-thought out that I think no one else on Earth could have described it better. There was one question that did cross my mind that you could help me with: "why exactly does Karen get so much dislike among the DD fandom?" Because I've also seen hate for her that has nothing to do with the whole "learning Matt is DD" thing and I just don't know what to think.
Oh, thank you for your kind words Nonnie! Wish I got more lovely asks like yours. :)
Well, that’s a question that has been on my mind too. I usually don’t get too deep into fandom matters because things can get really toxic down there. But even I get to see people hating on Karen from time to time. And most times there’s no apparent reason? It’s usually just “ugh I hate Karen and I can’t wait for Bullseye to kill her!” When there is an identifiable reason it’s mostly related to Matt. Many point out the misogyny in all this, which I tend to agree. But I don’t think this is enough to explain the dislike that Karen gets among the Daredevil fandom. I mean, to some people it’s difficult to see how exactly this misogyny plays out. So here is my guess:
I think the reason there’s so much Karen hate is the same reason I love her so much: Karen is a disruptive character. More so, Karen is an incredibly disruptive complex female character. She was written to be that way. How so? Well, first we have to have in mind how much netflix!Karen differs from comics!Karen. I’m not a cb fan but from what I have read, the original Karen Page from the comics is basically a textbook case of what’s wrong with how female characters are written in media and particularly in comic books. The Netflix writers made a point of writing a Karen that is the opposite of that. So we got a female character that is presented to us as classically feminine: a smiling pretty blonde with big blue eyes and elvish features that likes to wear floral prints, pencil skirts and high heels. In this she is very similar to the comics!Karen. But that’s where their similarities end. Netflix!Karen is not a damsel in distress, she’s not a mere accessory to Matt’s plot, she’s not a pretty trophy to the male hero. Karen has a mind of her own, she’s her own person, she has her own motivations and she acts on her own terms. This makes for a character that does not conform to the usual female characters tropes and stereotypes and I think this frustrates people’s expectations. Karen is an outwardly feminine character who is in place to be a romantic interest to the main character and I guess most viewers expect her to act in accordance with how such characters have been portrayed before: sunny, pure, in need of protection and always ready to defer to the hero. They don’t expect her to go on her own quests, to have a character arch that’s not solely constructed around the male’s and to often ignore his wishes. You know what I mean?
Think about how female characters are usually portrayed. Does she show independence, assertiveness and does not defer to men? Oh, probs ‘The Cold Bitch’. Or is she sweet, loving, caring and feminine? ‘The Madonna’. If she’s a badass who takes no shit from big scary dudes? ‘The Virago’ or ‘The Cool Gal That’s Almost Like a Dude’. Is she any of the previously stated plus sexually active and got involved with more than two males along the narrative? ‘The Whore’, no redemption. Karen shows all the above characteristics yet she fits none of those roles. She is caring and feminine but also independent and assertive. She’s all heart but she also carries a hand cannon in her purse and she’s not afraid to use it, even if it’s against The Big Bad Punisher. She was kidnapped and threatened but instead of simply cowering and waiting for rescue she fucking killed her captor. She does not fall into the hero’s arms ignoring all the shit that he has done once he comes to her and reveals his secret. Karen Page came from being a classical ‘woman in the fridge’ case in the comics to be a complex, flawed female character who defies established gender roles and stereotypes in the show. I think this disrupts the usual narrative and frustrates expectations and I guess people don’t know how to process this. Have you ever seen some people implying that Karen is sexually promiscuous? Yeah, it’s real. Even when the only romantic relationship she had was with Matt and they never got to the sex part, thank God Matt had the decency of refusing. Even when she’s one of the few main characters in the Netflix Marvel series who has never been shown having sex or talked about having had sex. It’s pretty much what happens to women in real life, you know? Not conforming with what is expected of them often leads to getting rejection and hostility from other people.
Well, that’s my take on it. Of course it’s hard to assume what somebody else thinks or feels, but I guess this is a way of explaining the general tendency. What do you think?

i went...... hard y’all this is so extra and embarrassing but i spent like,, over an hour writing this down so ur all gonna see it u better.
Why did you choose to play the character that you do at Crimson Revolt?
im gonna be honest like………………………………. i picked dirk bc i wanted to play ezra miller lmao. I KNOW HOW SHALLOW THAT IS DONT LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT OKAY I CAN EXPLAIN!!!!!!!! alright so before i apped for crt the first time i was at…… a pretty low place confidence-wise bc i’d just left the first rpg i ever joined (also the first rp thing i ever did) and it was a pretty,,,, messy departure lmaoo i gotta admit i could’ve handled that better orz. BUT ANYWAY so i went looking through the ezra miller fc tag bc i’d just discovered this fabulous person and had vague ideas about a character that could fit the fc (dramatic, cheeky, a lil flamboyant) and was also thinking “i will never fall in love with a character the way i did my previous ones again” and more dramatic bullshit along those line bc like i said,,, bad time. obviously i didn’t find any active rpgs that had him in use so i checked crt bc i’d seen it around before and liked the look of it, so i sent the main an ask like “do you see ezra miller working for any of your open characters?” the admin at the time pointed me to barty crouch, peter pettigrew and dirk cresswell.
i just want to take a moment to digest that i could literally have played any of these three, cause all i had at the time was a vague idea of a character and a fc to match. i remember i spent days trying to decide between barty and dirk cause neither skeleton fit my vision perfectly and they both seemed aimed more towards an angry jock-type character (especially dirk his fc was miles teller which…. should give u a good idea of what the admin at the time had in mind for him) ( i mean the first skeleton. the one on the main now is one i rewrote after the main crashed back in june.) (just to clarify: the original skeleton had just as much potential to evolve to a complex and intriguing character as any other skeleton here at crt. i just had my vaguely dramatic ezra miller bby and i wanted it. lmao.) but i liked challenging set characterizations and bringing unique perspectives to contrast against any expectations the admin/s might have about a character. which is why i tend to go for skeleton rps, you get more freedom with those. eventually i decided on dirk bc i liked the sound of aversio and grey moralities appeal to me greatly. i spent a long time delving into the character’s backstory and personality and all those deep-seated insecurities and compelling contradictions that make dirk up to be the person he is now. by the time i submitted the app i was thoroughly in love with the character and haven’t stopped since. he’s my most developed and my most beloved character to play thus far.
Do you have a favorite holiday?
NOPE. as long as im surrounded by people i love and a lot of snacks im good.

What is your Zodiac Sign?
Taurus.
Three most recently watched on Netflix?
SURPRISE! i don’t have netflix. most recent stuff i watched tho are Stranger Things 2, IT (2017) and…. i can’t remember orz. but im obsessed with stranger things taLK TO ME ABOUT STEVE HARRINGTON PLS I LOVE HIM SO MUCH *SOBS*
Describe your ride-or-die friend.
don’t call me out like this…………………………………. i don’t make friends in real life people are difficult and i am awkward orz.
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
the ability to focus whenever i want at whatever i want for however long i want and actually manage to be productive with my time. what do u mean this is not a superpower i need it to be one.
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
i have no sleep schedule to speak of. sometimes i sleep at five am and wake up at eight am to get to my classes, then have a six hour nap when i get home and stay up until four am again. sometimes i go to bed on eight pm and wake up at four in the morning and still sleep through my classes, take a small four hour nap when im home and spend obligatory time with the fam for a couple hours lmao. it’s like im just sleeping or waking up either way im always a step removed from a zombie. there is. no reason for any of this i just do it.
What is your favorite color?
YELLOW. it’s so bright and sunny and iouwodc. i love it.
What is the last book you read? What is your favorite?
ahhhh i can’t remember my memory is failing me. which is sad cause i used to pick up a new novel every other day but i just can’t be bothered anymore ugh. i think my favorite was the whole PJO & HoO series’ – i haven’t read the last book yet tho, so i’ll start rereading all ten books when i get the chance.
Where would you rather be right now?
on a bed. sleeping. alone. with a lot of blankets. solitude appeals to me on such a deep level guys u don’t even know.
Have you ever watched the sunrise?
the ones i remember are three – once when i was a kid with my mom, bc i wouldn’t go to sleep and it was approaching sunrise and i rambled about wanting to see the sun come up so my mom was like………………… ‘*throws hands up* ok u lil monster u win’ and took me to the roof to watch the sunrise lol. it was glorious. and cold. bc winter. the second time was with my cousins who were sleeping over (for the first time in a loooong tiiiimmmeeee) and we decided to spend the night up on the roof bc why not. the last time was with my brother i think he was up there fixing something or the other and i was just there….. to be annoying lmao.
Do you listen to music when you write? If yes, what kind of music?
oh no i can’t. i need everything and everyone to be quiet or i can’t write a thing.
What’s the one thing you especially love about roleplaying your muse/s?
what do i love about playing dirk…… his impulsive and his bright attitude and his endless optimism. he has such an uplifting presence and a cheeky sort of charm that makes it impossible for people not to love him, that makes his worming into other people’s hearts so entirely predictable and entertaining to play out. he is a myriad of contradictions – the difference between what he thinks everyone deserves and what he thinks he deserves is appalling, and with time it becomes clear that when he says things like “everyone needs someone to lean on” or “everyone could use some support” he is not referring to himself as a part of this ‘everyone’, if even on a subconscious level, does not find himself worthy of such kindness. he is a character so full of love he is spilling and overflowing with it, his raw emotions and his turbulent nature one of the dearest parts of him to me. the thin line he walks between being kind and violent, loyal and unforgiving, genuine and secretive. all the little details that make him up are reason for me to love him as dearly as i do.
What’s your favorite type of weather?
cold, but not too cold, y’know? just enough to wear a jacket but not so much you spend the night under five covers and a thermometer lmaoo.
What’s your best RP experience?
crt. no contest. and im not just saying that cause i’ve been in a bunch of rpgs by now and they all either a) lack dedicated admins/members b) are cliquey and non-inclusive at all or b) fall into inactivity a meager month or two after opening. crt is one of a kind.
Who inspires you?
this is actually a tough question cause i never really stop to think about it?? i draw inspiration from everything around me and it’s kinda like…. im constantly absorbing stuff from the environment im in and it’s like i’m always half-thinking about writing at any given moment, if that makes sense?? dunno.
Spread some love: mention someone you’ve met that has influenced you or your writing in a positive way and explain how!
ahhh okay so. before i tried roleplaying i stumbled upon this rpg in the fandom tag over a year ago and it’s basically been the catalyst for my time in the rpc. i was looking through the character’s blogs and found someone playing peter and i was like……….. not fond of peter at the time tbh but this person’s writing was so fucking incredible i checked their blog daily, just to see how this thread or that thread would go. their take on a character i’d only held distaste for before was so compelling and complex i was drawn in all the way, i’d even come to love the character so much and was constantly disarmed by the smallest to the biggest details in that person’s characterization – at least the details i could pick up on, some i’m sure went way over my head at the time. some details i still remember vividly and they’ve helped me shape my first character and have influenced my writing thereafter. i learned a lot about the duality of a character’s mind and how to express inner conflict by observing that person’s writing. (yes i sent them a nerdy af message gushing about all that bc they hadda know man…. they hadda know.)
