INTRO POST !

hello!! my name is noah (he/him preferred, they/them acceptable) and i’m a 22-year-old trans guy and a fanfic writer! after months of reluctance, despite stealthily making my way across other t-word related blogs on this platform using other accounts, i finally decided to officially join the t-word™ community on tumblr! i’m still in the closet with my close friends outside of this corner though honestly. (so please don’t interact if you know me/think you know me outside of this part of tumblr or talk about this with me elsewhere!! i would greatly appreciate it! <3)

the fandoms i have written for are as follows: voltron, obey me, sk8 the infinity, a3!, b-project, and utapri. right now my hyperfixation is stranger things (despite posting little to no original content since falling back into this rabbit hole), and since i’m currently in the process of slowly phasing myself back into writing on this blog, please only send requests concerning this fandom! this list will also be updated as i join more fandoms and is subject to change.

when i write x reader things, i tend to refer to you as “mc” (for obey me) or “x character’s s/o/friend” (depending on the type of request) in fics/headcanons and will stick with they/them pronouns. i want all folks of all genders reading my stuff to feel like they’re there and that they’re included <3 that being said, i kindly request that you not ask me to write anything where the reader has a specified gender (ex. putting “with female s/o” at the end of your request). thank you!

Listening to lipxlip honestly makes me really happy

I don’t think people realize that I literally started to actually learn Japanese and write so much more than I had before because of them 😭

Before I got into lipxlip, back in early 2020 (as I got into them around late April of 2020) I was trying to find something that brought me a lot of joy. I fandom-hopped a lot, and even when I stayed in a fandom for a long time (like dgr or utapri), it still didn’t bring me all that much serotonin. Sure, I was hyperfixated, but I didn’t really spend money on merch or anything.

Not to mention, my music tastes kept changing, so finding songs to vibe to was always tricky.

I was actually losing interest in everything because of a really bad depressive episode.

And then my (ex) friend got me into lipxlip (though at the time I had told her to get into Tsukiuta in exchange but she never did lol). I liked them. I was decently content.

But I honestly thought that I would never be able to get into the fandom because there was so much about Honeyworks that I didn’t understand.

But I kept learning more, and I saw some popular blogs on here and I was just !!! wow.

And eventually, the Romeo novel was released, and I really wanted to learn more, so I ended up starting to self-teach Japanese. Hence the eventual translation of the novel. It helped me grasp some concepts better, but I was still pretty shaky. I’m not gonna lie, my tls are pretty shaky still. But they are better than before. I understand more than before.

And while you don’t have to know a lot about your interest to have fun with it, I’ve had a lot of fun learning more and being able to provide not just my own creative content, but being able to provide canon content for the people who are interested.

I still have really bad depressive episodes, but I now have something to fall back on. Something that makes me really smile and enjoy.

And not to mention how relatable the characters of lipxlip and even mona are. It’s honestly really helped me.

That’s why I continue to translate even when it gets stressful, because the end result feels well worth it.

(Also Julietta still makes me stupidly happy)

Coming Soon to a Half-Dead Utapri Blog Near You: The Ballad of the Little Unicorn

Hi, everyone!

As I'm sure most of you who keep up with this blog are aware, the past few scenarios were a blend of Utapri and My Hero Academia. More specifically, the Utapri characters and what would happen if they met Eri from MHA. Those scenarios did a lot better than I thought they would (especially the ones with STARISH and Quartet Night lol) and I had a lot of fun writing them.

The thought of this crossover still hasn't left my mind in the month I spent writing those scenarios, so now I'm announcing a work in progress that I will be working on along with other headcanons, imagines and scenarios:

The Ballad of the Little Unicorn - an Utapri and My Hero Academia crossfic

That's right, a longer story relating to those most recent scenarios is in the works!

I'm still working out some minor details regarding the work itself, such as the number of chapters I want it to be and some plot points, but I do have a basic summary of what this work will generally be about:

It's been nearly four months since young Eri was rescued from Overhaul's clutches by Deku, Mirio, and the others involved in the mission against the Shie Hassaikai. The little girl has improved significantly since in trusting others, catching up in her knowledge when compared to other children her age, being happier, and simply being a child.

One day, however, Eri's newly-found normal life comes to a screeching halt when she wakes up from a routine nap to find herself in a city park far from where UA stands. She soon meets a beautiful young woman, who agrees to help the little girl find her way back home after accidentally bumping into her. The woman, who introduces herself as Haruka Nanami, takes Eri back to the performing agency where she introduced her to the members of STARISH.

The boys quickly agree to Haruka's idea to let Eri stay with them until she can help her get back home safely until one of them points out that their boss, Shining Saotome, would not allow anyone outside of the agency to be within its walls unless it was for a collaboration piece with another agency. On top of this, he would almost certainly use the little girl's powers for selfish gain should he ever find out about them. Not wanting to risk angering their boss while also not wanting to put young Eri in harm's way, Haruka and STARISH agree to keep the little girl's presence a secret from the rest of the idol agency while caring for her and continuing their work on an upcoming concert collaboration with two other idol groups. How long will they be able to keep the secret? Will Eri be able to get back home safely before Shining finds out about her existence? Stay tuned to find out.

This fic is mainly going to focus on Eri's interactions with members of STARISH and Shining Agency, but to my Quartet Night and HEAVENS fans, don't you worry! They'll be in this work as well!

I hope to post a new chapter every 1-2 weeks starting mid-November to catch up on all the requests - the first of which should be done by the end of this week, but I will let everyone know if anything should change about when new chapters will be posted. Of course, I will still do the things I was doing before starting this project: scenarios, imagines, headcanons and match-ups (yes, I do those now too).

This is the first full-blown fanfic I've written for this fandom and it is longer and in a different style compared to my usual works, but I'm excited to try to post some new material for this blog. I also can't wait for you all to read each chapter as well.

I hope you all are excited for this project to come to life as much as I am!

I’ve published fics for Bleach, Diabolik Lovers, DRV3, Shingeki no Kyojin, Tokyo Ghoul, Litchi Hikari Club, Innocents Shounen Juujigun, BnHA, Senjuushi, Utapri, and Voltron (although I try to forget about that one...)

I have a fuckton of other fandoms that I would write for, though, and I’ve at least considered, if not planned out fics for Golden Kamuy, Naruto, Kuroshitsuji, Yuri on Ice (I’ve been forbidden from this one lol), Bakugan, and more.

Where You Post: On many, many blogs, depending on fandom. @invertedphantasmagoria is my main, though, and all of my stuff goes up on my Ao3.

Most Popular One-shot: Either starving or Undone. Starving was a work of legitimate effort, so I’m pretty chill with that one getting attention... but Undone is just churned-out smut and I hate that it’s so popular -_- Both of these are nowhere near my usual popularity, though, mostly because I’m pretty incapable of writing anything one-chapter.

Most Popular Multi-chap: Aaaaand here comes the monster. Normie DRV3 Requests, featuring over 23,000 views, over 900 kudos, and about 250 comments. I have no idea what caused it to become so popular, but it continues to amaze me.

Story you were most nervous to post: BAD END for sure. It’s literally just self-indulgent torture porn and probably the meanest thing I’ve ever written. And I’m only four chapters in. It’s just going to get much, much worse. >.>

How you pick your titles: Usually I use song lyrics!!! :D And also usually, I use lyrics from something I listened to while writing the fic. This lonely moment of today’s titles were all taken from the Vocaloid song “Warau Mannequin”.

Do you outline?: Yes. Oh yes. I live off of outlines tbh!! o3o I write out extensive scene plans for every fic, including my goal/required wordcounts. I also have developed a really weird habit of calling every outline document some version of “Story Meat”, usually somehow relating to the fic itself...

Complete stories: Many. For all the fics I start, I’m actually not that bad at finishing them. I don��t want to list all of them out here, so here’s a link to my “Complete” tag on Ao3. :3 There are 14 completed fics up at the moment, not counting the 6 I still have up from when I was 15.

In progress: Ha. Haha. Um. Let’s not get started on this one.

Shining Live Fanzine: Concept Pitch

I believe @utapri-idol-hell has already mentioned this upcoming project on her blog so, without further delay, this is the completed concept pitch for an SL-themed Utapri fanzine!

(Note: there is also a link to this post on twitter! If you have a twitter account, please consider retweeting the post from this account so that non-tumblr users can also see this!)

I would like to first put emphasis on the fact that this is a concept pitch. That means this is a presentation of the initial idea to anyone who might be interested in this project. At this point in time, most of the rules and concepts are still malleable - they can be changed and shaped according to feedback from this post.

If you are interested in this project (as either a contributor or as someone who would want to acquire a copy of the zine) please consider filling out this feedback form. Any responses will be useful to determine how the zine moves forward, but the feedback is particularly important in regards to the “Application Methods” section of this post (see below).

There are, however, three rules which are already “set” and would not be changed. They are as follows:

This zine would feature work from both artists and writers.

Due to Broccoli’s history with ordering “cease and desist”s against utapri doujin artists, this would be a non-profit zine. Thus, digital copies would be completely free.

The concept for this zine is based on the intention of it being a fun project that would appeal to the majority of the fanbase. Therefore, some rules are set in place to avoid content that might spark conflict and/or be geared towards a specific audience.

Below the cut, this post is split into three sections: Concept, Rules, and Application Methods. Each section is clearly noted with a header. “Concept” covers the general theme, content, and layout; “Rules” covers additional restrictions and/or allowances for the zine content; and “Application Methods” covers various possible ways a writer or artist could possibly apply to do a page for the zine. That last section is particularly important, because at the moment the application method for the zine has yet to be decided and the final decision will depend feedback.

There’s quite a bit of information below, so for anyone who is dyslexic or has any other reading difficulties, the most important information is in bold.

The ask box is also open for anyone who has any additional questions, or would like further expansion on something mentioned in the following text.

The initial concept for this zine, was that it would (hopefully) be the first in a series of SL-themed zines that followed the chronological release pattern of the in-game events and gachas.

This seemed to be a good way to establish a kind of content equilibrium, so that no specific character/event/gacha appeared too often or too little. The pages would be themed after the events/gachas and each one would have a specific amount of pages allotted to it. Since KLab has only screwed the rotation once thus far, it seems like an easier method of creating balance.

Originally, it was going to be an annual digital zine with a high page count. However, since people have expressed their interest in physical copies of a zine, the concept was revised into something that would also translate well into physical format.

The following are the revised restrictions/guidelines for the current concept of the zine:

The total page count would be 44 pages. This includes the front/back cover, index and closing pages.

The content would cover from the release of the game (Aug/Sept 2017) up through January 2018. This covers 8 gacha and 10 events, not including the SL UR set which would also be featured.

Each event and gacha would be allotted two A4 pages of content - one for art and one for a piece of flash fiction. The cover and its related story would have double that amount: front/back cover + a two page short story.

The zine would have the potential to run in both physical and digital formats. Digital zines would be completely free (hence, non-profit project) however they will still require the purchaser to put in an order/request for the file. There will be no public download link posted.

All contributors are entitled to a digital copy without placing a request. Free physical copies may be a possibility, but that depends on a number of factors (namely the amount of contributors, zine orders, and if a print run is made at all) so I can’t promise anything at this point.

Print runs would be made if there is enough demand for physical copies, and there would only be one run per zine. This is reduce the risk of Broccoli viewing the zine production as a competitive merchandise and thereby becoming offended by the project.

(The following rules were put in place regarding the intentions and concept for the zine. Since this is a concept pitch, each rule is followed by an explanation of why it exists. If you believe any rule is unnecessary, or flawed, please note that in the feedback form! Passive-aggressively ranting about it on twitter doesn’t help!)

The UR Rule

The featured UR pair (for gachas) or the featured UR/SR pair (for events) MUST be the focus of the piece. Other characters can be mentioned and/or appear, but the piece has to be clearly centered on the two featured characters for that set/event. This is to help ensure the balance of content set by following the release patterns.

This goes without saying, but the pieces must also be themed after the event/gacha for which they are the pages for. A simple mention, hint, or acknowledgement toward the set/event isn't strong enough to be considered a theme.

Non-Shining Live Characters Are Allowed

Although the zine will be SL themed, all other characters that are part of the Utapri franchise can be featured within artwork and fiction pieces submitted to the zine. Since they’re official characters, I see no reason to purposely block them out.

The UR rule still applies, however, so these characters cannot become the focus of the pieces.

Keep it PG 13/15

This is partly in place to acknowledge the younger fans of the franchise (as well as those who aren't big fans of higher rated content) and partly because there is no fail-safe way to verify someone's age over the internet.

There are a lot of minors who consume and produce adult content for this fandom, and while their choices are theirs to make (I'm not the fandom police, it's none of my business), I don't want this project to be held responsible for distributing inappropriate content to minors in case issues do arise.

It's also worth noting that this rule does not only apply to sexual content (because some people think R18 only means sex). A piece depicting other mature themes - such as serious cannibalism, gore, or class A drug use - would not be acceptable.

No Romantic Ships

I feel like this is going to be the least popular rule, so the explanation for this is twice as long. Hear me out for a minute, and, if by the end you still think it’s unnecessary, by all means put that on the response form!

There are two main reasons for this rule.

Firstly, although shipping as a concept is extremely popular within fandom, individual ships still only cater to very specific audiences within the fanbase. No matter which way you twist it, no matter the popularity of any given ship, no single ship is universal. Some fans don't even connect to the idea of shipping in the first place.

Under most circumstances, that's completely fine, but within the context of a fanzine that's intended to appeal to as much of the fanbase as possible, allowing ships starts to seem very juxtaposed to that goal.

Case and point: if I have to include an extra contents page that lists all of the ships mentioned inside the zine so people can pick and/or avoid certain ones, that, to me, completely negates the idea of having a zine that most people can just pick up and read without issue.

Secondly, as I'm sure most people already know, ships are a primary source of conflict and motivator for harassment within fandom.

In terms of problems arising from including ships in a fanzine, I'm mainly worried about contributing artists/writers as well as the other admins getting harassed for content they did or didn't include within the zine. As someone who has not only seen utapri fan blogs run offline because of ship-based anon hate, but has also seen people ridiculed and kicked out of groups for not liking a popular ship, I would rather not risk exposing contributors and admins to that kind of toxic behavior.

When thinking about potential application methods for zine contributors, I realized that the traditional method - where people send in entries and these entries are reviewed/accepted/denied by an admin panel - may not be the best suited for a project that a) is supposed to be fun, not stressful and b) is looking for as many applicants as possible to hopefully be a success.

After brainstorming several alternative ways that applications could be handled, I decided the best possible way to choose one, would be to ask people who are interested in contributing to the zine how they would prefer to apply. After collecting the feedback, the most popular application method would be the one used for this zine.

The following are three different possible application methods. Each has a description of how it would work followed by a list of pros and cons for that method.

Method 1: First Come, First Serve

This method is very well-known, and very straightforward. Essentially, the list of available pages is posted at a specified time and date, and contributors would simply message the zine admins to claim whichever pages they want to contribute for. The first person to claim that particular page is the person who that page is allocated to.

Method 2: Random Chance

There are two variations of this method.

Application for Specific Pages: using this method, applicants would apply for specific pages at any point during the application period. Then, once the period has ended, the contributing artist/writer would be drawn at random for each page.

General Application: using this method, applicants would apply to the zine in general during the application period then, once the period has ended, the contributing writers/artists for all the pages would be drawn from the same pool. Applicants would be allowed to veto certain characters/sets/events and trade among each other if desired.

Method 3: Traditional Application

This is the method that’s most often used to manage and select applications for a zine.

An applicant would send in an entry form during the application period that contains, among other possible things, which pages they would like to apply for and an example of their work. At the end of the period, all entry forms are reviewed by the admins and the contributors for each page are decided by majority/unanimous vote.

Hello Guysss! 2018 is ENDING in a few days!

Actually, very very few days.

And yes while I haven’t been here for a very very long time, not that much active in posting and as we all know, Tumblr with its change of rules and regulations, most of us will most likely be on Tumblr less for various reasons.

However, doesn’t mean I’m completely quitting Tumblr. Instead, this will just be one of the blogging/writing/writing-socmedia platforms that I will have less active presence for. Meaning, I won’t be as active, but I’ll be here occasionally.

Whaaaat? But whatcha gonna do with this blog from now on then?

Good question. So here are the things that’ll (very 99.95% happening):

- Complete overhaul: Older posts blah blah the archives will remain, though I need to do a lot of backup. Newer posts will mostly aim to specific Tumblr-only fandom contents that I am into here. For example, if I am on Tumblr and I am gonna post something related to BSD, it’ll only just be on BSD.

Of course I am in other fandoms as well but that’s why the tags are extremely useful.

- A bit cleaner, perhaps simpler theme for easier navigation: I haven’t totally figure this one out yet but I’m just thinking of changing to a new theme soon that’ll be more clean and simple, but also concise and direct that navigating will be easier.

- Occasional Sales Post: Because the thing is, I do have followers and most of my buyers and potential buyers are on this blog, so I think it’s easier to connect and contact through this main account/blog. It’s also easier for me to review on items that are on PO/sold/pending, etc. Basically, keeping accounts will also be easier on here.

Okay, so you will still be selling things on this blog?

Yes.

In regards of what I’ll be selling on here, it’ll mostly be Bungou Stray Dogs.

But there will also be other series.

Such as: - Hypnosis Mic - Akenasasu Shoujo - Persona 5 - Marvel Universe - UtaPri - Others “But you’re not even a fan of some of these titles...”

Yes, but that’s because if I can offer a split and there are people who want to buy, then I’ll offer for sale. Also, depending on the characters in it, I would usually take 1-2 out of the box split for a friend or myself. Usually for titles I’m not a fan of, it’s the former.

What about your fanfics? Will you still post them here?

I’m not too sure about that just yet, tbh. Part of me don’t want to rely too much on posting new fanfic works on this blog just because I have an audience here, but I also want to really start fresh and anew so I am considering making a new separate blog just for my fanfics.

New M/NSFW written works may be updated there (but as we pretty much know, grey as it is, written p’awrn’ could be compromised).

If I am going to publish in a new blog site, I’ll update as well.
