arc v 66-80 thoughts! oh my God So Much Happens All The Time. we got to the fourth opening/ed already??? im halfway into the series I think and im shocked by the implications of the op/ed (that we'll seemingly be spending another full arc in synchro. not complaining I just thought this would be shorter, at this rate most of the series will be taking place in synchro wont it?? whats the synchro to standard episode ratio...)

-aaaah crows kids showed up to watch him duel and it had him worried for the majority of the duel. cute. (also I hope theyve been ok since hes been in jail/here at the friendship cup locked in a fucking room) im glad he won…

-….and concerned bc Crime Dad broke into yuyas room to tell him the losers (and also ppl who get taken from the prison) go to some kind of underground garbage plant to basically be WORKED TO DEATH. see when a few eps ago we learned some ppl get taken out of prison and never return I assumed they just were. shooting them to kill them out back like ole yeller bc of overpopulation. nope! cant decide if this is better or worse than that assumption… both are pretty bad…

-how tf is layra supposed to do a riding duel!! theyre so tiny! where will their emotional support stuffed animal sit! tf! im glad yuya and crimedad are treating this as awful as it is and are also pissed. what the FUCK and god layra RUNNING to yuya and clinging to him and yuya tearing into reiji saying 'if YOU wont protect layra /I/ will!' LIKE. LOVE THIS ENERGY YUYA. I feel like reiji is 100% withholding info about layra but still. kid is TERRIFIED and yuya had SO many valid points (layra still wanting to be with big bro reiji and trusting him auugh)

-reiji is a bit Too Calm abt all of this so I cant imagine this is his first time handling this kinda situation. and layra having a goddamn meltdown panic attack when reiji leaves and running after him BEGGING him not to leave and saying 'ill do whatever u want!! always!!!' I DONT LIKE THIS. NOT ONE BIT. at least reiji was like 'its okay. im proud and happy youre defying me bc it means ur developing a will of your own' and having ninjaguy fight in layras place…like. very many feelings abt this. I still can't fault reiji 100% either bc we Learn layra is from a 'war torn region in a certain country' I KNEWWW IT I KNEW LAYRA WAS ADOPTED the timeline with reijis dad going to academia didnt make sense for reiji to have a younger sibling. my original theory was xyz dimension but it didnt look like heartland in the little bit we could see. so just some random war-torn country…um. so they have ptsd. and reijis mom is like 'yeah hes got no will so he can be a useful asset to us!" throw the whole woman away. tf is wrong with u ppl. at least reiji is defying his mom on this and wanting layra to be happy… oh…reiji im so sorry sweetie both u and layra have such shit parents….maybe its actually for the best reiji took layra with him, i would not fucking trust his mom with this kid! reiji is just Cleaning up his Parents messes. actually that perfectly explains his Hyper Responsible personality. he prob never got to be a kid….IM SO SAD. AAUGH! ygo is nothing w/out family drama

-yooo shinji is fun actually, I feel like him and shun would get along great. both freedom fighters. shinji trying to start a RIOT with his duel. love that. (also just love ninjaguy too. i didnt love either enough to root for one or the other, im fine w/ whoever wins but shinji had a CAUSE yk)

-so reiji is fine w them being sent to the forced labor place. I mean. all of them but the top winner WILL be so ofc he had a plan to get them out of that. not at all surprised bc hes been THEE best at planning and staying cool as a cucumber. not even worried abt it if hes in charge. if reijis not worrying neither am I

-smile chojiro is a great character. i love his whole motto 'dont be ashamed of defeat, dont be complacent in victory' im also glad he didnt just throw the duel to keep yuzu from going to the forced labor camp (I mean…/i/ would have if I was fighting a 14 yr old girl kajhfkj gotta protecc the kids or whatever) but that wouldve cheapened her win. I KNEW she would win and im so proud of her. yuya tearing up when she used his catch phrase to let him know shes ok ;__; god that duel made me SO emotional theyre both great

-I knew serena would win fast against some rando named 'tony' with the blandest design ever. did not disappoint. but the other characters made comments like 'oh if I wasnt dueling today I coulve slept in'…theyre only doing like FOUR DUELS PER DAY IN THIS TOURNAMENT?? PEOPLE GO TO A STADIUM TO SEE (4) DUELS???! oh my god thats so ridiculous. how much is a ticket in???…how long have they been in synchro dimension??? like, they were in jail a While too werent they?? so like. a MONTH?? LONGER?? everyone is gonna be so behind on school when they get back. yes thats what im worried abt.

-yuya getting mad this is all unfair and yelling its wrong and the 'friendship cup' should be canceled bc the losers just get sent to the forced work facility (slave camp. yuya, just say it for what it is) is like..well whatre you gonna do abt it! we already had a lil speech abt how the 1% of this world are living it up and the 99% are in slums, having to clean up the MASSIVE waste the 1% cause and having to struggle to SURVIVE and your only NOW getting really pissed abt it? (also, too real) you HAVE a pocket demon we havent seen in like 30-40 episodes…bring it out and let it eat the rich people and the cops! whats the problem!

-OH MY GOD. jack atlas and reiji and layra hanging out having dinner together. i am going to lose my mind. HE THINKS YUZU HAD THE MOST PROMISE OUT OF ALL THE DAY ONE DUELISTS TOO!!!! BRO. JACK. -yuya's eyes lit up for like 0.2 second. I wish I could tell if that was yuto's influence or yuyas demon (?? I need a better name for it. but we havent SEEN it in like. 30-40 episodes LMAO let alone had any kind of explanation, so) I geeeeeet that sending ANYONE to the horrible forced labor camps is bad, but yuya. you gotta get to the top if you want ppl to listen. you cant single handedly do much, you are 14. 'bc of me he was sent underground' if it wasnt him itd be u. and its not like u took him there urself, chill yuya. we'll fix this stuff im SURE

I feel like serena is just gonna pummel him into a pancake and yuzu will give him a smack with her fan and a tight hug and he will break down like a little nervous chihuahua. this is my prediction.

-new op and ed this ep too btw! LOVEEE the new op, prob my 2nd fav next to the first one. really good soft metal sound. new ed is also REALLY GOOD. awww all the girls together!! and even. sora and jack next to each other. god last ed was my fav but this one is FIGHTING it I cant pick which I like better LMAO theyre REALLy good. interesting imagery too. MAYBE im reading too much into it but jack and sora are both on the outskirts of the grass…are they going to interact? and sora is sorta balled into himself and turned away from everyone else, but he very much still IS with them in the grass. makes u think….

I'm hoping the next arc..we get to see yuri more finally (and for yuto to make a comeback, which. obv he must before the series ends…) and also I want to see ruri and rin more!!! and more lancer interactions in general I want them to hang out and be buds…I know the whole plot is stopping an inter-dimensional war which does fuck severely but I just. dunno. some slice of life eps would be nice after this arc…everything has been go go go fast heavy for a while and i need. a breather (that isnt a recap..)

-something I realized about Character designs (im in the middle of doing fanart while watching haha) Yuya's dad is dressed like a ringleader. yuya is clown-coded (aka part of the ringleaders circus). yuyas dad disappeared. so…would it be insane to assume he might be Behind stuff, like a plot twist villain? I know hes at least INVOLVED SOMEHOW (he gave yuya his pendulum necklace too didnt he…much to think abt) ….hm…. also! fun thing I didnt notice until now is yuya is color matched with his odd eyes isnt he? both are red/green? thats so fun

-yuzu v sergey was a big pile of bullshit. she didnt deserve to lose the first match of the 2nd round. I saw it coming and it still pissed me off. i wanted her to WIN, or at least get to the finals! generally just really annoyed over it. fuck you sergey and fuck you to the ppl who wrote it like that

-yuya v shinji (who I cant help but think of as a k-mart generic brand yusei from the neurotypical section instead of my Beloved Brand Name Yusei from the Autism section) was Tough. yuya is trying to fight for an interdimensional war (…his goal of making everyone smile pushed aside for the moment…which is like. fair. rn dueling is a tool of WAR or REVOLUTION we cant do those with smiles usually…) but shinji is trying to start a revolution against the upper class…neither of them are WRONG and it sucks but yuya as the main character Couldnt Lose. And the stunt Roget pulled after sucked for everyone :< ...cant believe crow actually believed it tho god. I know its for plot reasons but imo hes smarter than that..

-I will say im SO glad sora is back. omg hiii sora :D he 1. saved yuzu 2. WENT TO MAKE SURE YUYA KNEW YUZU WAS OK??? so fucking good Im so Glad. (also bonus points to ME for calling this happening. sora NEVER had any ill will towards the two of them, i KNEW he was attached to them) hes gonna join up soon isnt he :3c i KNEW it. <- pleased I called this (tbf I thought itd happen way later but who knows if its actually happening now or if yuyas just planting seeds of doubt in his brain. sora already is calling academia a hell so. he just needs a gentle lil shove in the right direction...also I want to see him and shun make up an be buds. that might be asking too much tho...shun doesnt owe him forgiveness but...it would b CUTE)

-then him and yuya just sit and talk about it…sora admits theyre his first real friends I AM LIVING RN. BEST BEST TROPE EVER. HE HAD SUCH A HARD LIFE TOO FUCK U ACADEMIA. he SCOURED academia and even checked standard to find yuzu…so sweet… his big plan was to let yuya let him take serena back home instead of yuzu and thats like. even IF yuya was that heartless (which hes obv not…) and they did that, its a band-aid solution bc dennis will prob report yuzu… ergh.

-yuya said he TRUSTS SORA TO KEEP YUZU SAFE. IF HE CANT HES GONNA FEEL LIKE SHIT. HES /GOTTA/ SWITCH SIDES NOW JKDHAKFJ

-they then hype yuri up more like 'ohhh its only a matter of time before they send him!' PROMISE, ROGET?? I WANT TO SEE MORE OF HIM. ITS LIKE. EPISODE 80 AS I TYPE THIS….I THINK WE'VE GOTTEN LIKE. 1-2 MINUTES OF SCREENTIME FOR HIM EVER.

-BY THE WAY. sora is a goddamn parkour master, jumping around on buildings and stuff my god. I know he was trained and stuff by academia whcih we saw a bit of in a flashback montage…but its lichrally insane. anime parkour

-oh my god crow v shun is next. why do birds have to fight….. sad! my prediction is crow wins just bc shun doesnt have any real personal stakes rn...I mean sure the lancers are trying to prove their might or w/e but on a personal level shun has no beef w crow or synchro yk. whereas for crow hes got beef w jack (and now yuya possibly due to the shit roget did lol) so. obv feels like crow will win for meta reasons. same w/ whoever serena ends up dueling later, but we'll see!

They....did though ...(full argument under tag bc i just rmbrd read more exists)

We see aged up coco n nutts and if they were adults in yes pre ... They wouldnt look the way they do in the show.When you see the comparioan pre and post time skip its obvious that this teen to adult. They grow likw three full heads taller. What eighteen year old growa that much taller..also we see a flashback of coco n nozomi at nozomis high achool n cocos wearing a high school uniform too and doesn't look out of place amongst the high schoolers...

Like otona kept it vaguer than ppl wouldve liked and i understand the teacher part is troubling and sets a bad example for kids and keeping it it otona is a problem. But saying that otona did nothing just isn't true. Also they stated that like for however many years its been since nozomi started college to now that coco hasnt visited her.

They're trying to fix mistakes they made...not unlike how tokyo mew mew new changed things. Making it love at first sight though yeah thats a change i fully disagree with because it makes it worse. And I understand the point theyre trying to make that bc coco n nozomi were fated loves that immediate love comes from tht....

Ok also the age and teacher stuff rlly has ppl not even touching the fairy stuff? She stuffed him into her backpack bc he was annoying. All of the fairies rely on the precure to help them get their kingdom back which puts all of the fairies in a tricky position. Like we know the precures rnt gonna let them down. But like its not a sure thing for the fairies.

Coco was technically her teacher for two years but theres so few classroom scenes in Go!Go! that its easy to forget he was a teacher.

My closing statement is that i understand if you feel like this is too morally dubious and that you disagree with it being in the show at all. And i know i sound like a scumbag going 'here me out' over a talking stuffed animal that turns into and an adult woman who met this stuffed animal when she was fourteen year old. #earlier on my way out of work i saw this old lady standing around the paying for parking machine for awhile looking kind of confused #i thought about asking her if she needed help but i didnt #i walked by her kind of slowly and i was looking at her sort of waiting to see if she would ask me if i knew anything abt the parking thing #but she wasn't looking at me she didnt seem interested so i kept walking #now i feel bad i wish i had asked her if she needed help #i dont know anything about parking rules but like. i know how to use those machines and she was old maybe she didnt know #you know #i feel bad #and when i was out of town like a month ago i was in this old guy's game store in this tiny little town #and the owner of the store was chatting w them and my parents would have paid for it if i picked smth out #but all i liked in there were the stuffed animals and it wouldve been a waste of money to get one #i didnt want to waste money on smth stupid or a board game I'd never play but now i wish I'd just picked out a fidget toy or smth #i shouldve bought smth from his little store idk it probably doesnt make a lot of money and he was so nice i felt bad #that was a month ago and it haunts me i think abt it every day and it always upsets me #it's just little things like that I always wish i had done more or helped more or been kinder

An Unexpected Reading Partner

The Pokemon Center still shone bright from the dark atmosphere outside and behind the building was a young raven haired boy training his pokemon, A Greninja, Pikachu,Hawlucha,TalonFlame and lastly a Noivern all together, the boy knew fully well that he had only limited time before came the time when the league starts and he was willing to stay up all night to train but he also knew that he would have to give his pokemon time to rest so he ordered them to retreat back infront of him, the boy smiled "You did great today guy's we'll surely win the league after all our hard work!" Ash exclaimed pumping a fist into the air as his pokemon let out cries of joy Ash then looked up at the sky and saw the moon almost at its full peak "Its getting late,I think its time to head in" Ash said as he started pulling out his pokemon's respective pokeballs and pulling them back in, Pikachu however leaped back up his shoulder and began taking a nap, Ash chuckled a bit and petted his partner gently and began walking back inside the pokemon center and towards the room of which he rented out for him and his traveling companions,

Once he entered the room he found two beds already occupied by the two lumiose siblings but immediately realized another bed was empty, he scanned the room for a sign of the honey blonde haired girl and eventually found her sitting on a couch reading what seemed like a book from under the shelf of the television, the girl didnt seem to have noticed Ash coming in seeing as she was so sucked into her book, the boy raised an eyebrow in curiosity,wondering what type of book she was so engrossed in that she hadnt even noticed him entering the room,he chuckled a bit from her determination to finish that one book even if she was looking a bit tired, unfortunately his light chuckle managed to grab the attention of the busy honey blonde "Ash! Your back!" Serena beamed and Ash smiled back "Yep,figured my pokemon could use a little down time, even pikachu agrees" he said gesturing by pointing towards his mouse like partner now sleeping on top of his head, this earned a giggle from the girl on the couch "Anyway, what happened to those two?" Ash said while walking towards his own bed and placing his partner upon it then pointed towards Clemont and Bonnie, Serena turned her head following the direction of his finger "Oh them? Im guessing Clemont was really tired from running all the way here, I mean once we entered the room he actually just went face first unto the bed, and Bonnie? Im not entirely sure to be honest, I dont know maybe she was just exhausted from being really hyper on the way here?"Serena explained earning a laugh from Ash "And how about you? Arent you tired?" Ash asked taking a few steps closer to the girl eventually ending up standing infront of her, making the honey blonde blush ever so slightly although that moment didn't last long as she was suddenlt interrupted by herself yawning all of a sudden this earned a light chuckle and a small smirk from the boy infront of her "Yeah, But i thought it wouldve been rude to sleep when you havent even came back the room yet,then i found this book and decided to read it to, I dont know, pass the time while waiting for you," She came to a pause and looked back at the pages of her book "And turns out this book is really interesting, i honestly got so intrigued by it when i reached the 5th page" She explained her eyes roaming left to right reading the book "It must be if your still up reding it," Ash responded "Say, what's the book called?" Ash asked as he sat down next to the girl earning another slightly darker tone of red from her cheeks but of course Ash hadnt noticed that small detail "Well its called 'Amour Journeys' (fite me i couldnt think of another book title lmaooo) its about a girl and a boy with their group of friends traveling around the world with their pokemon but that girl and boy had feelings for each other and didnt know how to tell each other" Serena rambled on, seeing her so happy about something always made a smile on Ash's face beside her, laughing a bit he then said

"So its that good then?" Ash asked raising an eyebrow in amusement Serena then nodded with a big smile on her face twisting her self to face him while doing so, she shoved the book inches away from the boy's face expecting him to be able to read it but from that angle it was nearly impossible but she hadnt processed that bit just yet "See! It's really romantic!" Serena gushed out dreamily as she retreated back to her previous sitting position and continued on reading, a smile still evident on her face, her words got Ash intrigued and honestly he was not one for reading but if Serena spoke so highly of it he thought it wouldnt hurt so he could gave it a look, he leaned in closer to the girl earning another blush from her but nonetheless she kept silent and continued on her reading but unfortunately the feeling of Ash's warm breath just at the edge of her neck tingling her was now starting to be distracting her and now she couldnt keep her mind straight, Ash had finished both pages and was expecting Serena to flip to another one but weirdly she never did,he look at the girl to see she was looking a bit, Overwhelmed(?) "Uhh Serena are you okay?" Ash asked completely oblivious to the situation he trapped the girl in "Uh-H YeS im f-Fine!"she stammered out and used her shaking fingers to turn the page and the both of then continued reading.

A few more minutes went by, maybe 20 or 30? But either way time had went by and weirdly enough Ash found himself enjoying the book and was now totally sucked into the story however Serena grew even more tired by the minute, every so often her eyes drooped close but bolted back open when she felt herself falling asleep, Ash seemed to notice her groggy behavior but didnt say a word and continued reading 'ill wait till she falls asleep, then ill take her to bed' he thought to himself.

Another 10 minutes went by and Serena couldnt keep herself awake much longer, she gave into her exhaustion and closed her eyes shut completely forgetting about the fact that right next to her was Ash who was reading with her, her hands was still gripping the sides of the book but her head was dropping down and eventually landed on Ash's shoulder.

Noticing the sudden weight on his shoulder he looked down to see the honey blonde peacefully asleep on him, he didnt know why but he felt a small tinge of warmth crawl up his cheeks,but he didnt mind it and honestly he quite enjoyed it but he figured Serena would liked it if she were in a much comfier and comfortable position rather than just sitting up.

He then carefully took the book out of her grasp which was quite easy to do so, seeing as her hands were loose and relaxed, he placed the book down beside him then looked at the girl sleeping on his shoulder once again, he smiled then altered his position for him to lift the girl up in his arms like how a newly wedded couple would hold his wife, he then walked to his bed seeing as it was the closest to the couch and placed her right next to pikachu who had seemed to notice the figure laying down beside it and immediately cuddled up next to the girl, who subconsciously wrapped her arm around the pokemon like it was some sort of stuffed animal, Ash smiled and laughed lightly at her child like demeanor when asleep, his thoughts were cut short when he suddenly felt a gush of cold air brush right past him and immediately realized the his bed was right infront of the air conditioner and that without a blanket a person sleeping on it would most likely be freezing and shivering while asleep, so he took off his electric blue jacket and placed it on his pokemon aswell as the honey blonde,thinking that merely his jacket wasnt enough, he went to the tip of the bed and lifted up the comforter that was neatly folded and placed it just above the shoulder of the honey blonde aswell as his pikachu.

He noticed a stray strand of hair infront of the girl's face and made a sudden move of tucking it back behind her ear, he found himself entranced by the girl's face,her beauty perhaps (a shit here we go again with the sappiness and cheesiness, great job me-)

He felt a familiar warm feeling crawl up his cheeks once again, he then stroked the girls hair wondering how ones hair could be so smooth even though the wind and air outside was so humid to make even his own hair frizzy but nonetheless he liked the feeling of her honey blonde locks, he stopped doing that thinking it was rather weird then stood back up and walked towards a nearby light switch and flicked it off and then found himself back on the couch, he didnt bother changing seeing as the other havent aswell and the cold air wasnt that much of a bother for him infact he kind if liked it, he then glanced back at his bed where Serena and his pikachu laid sleeping peacefully and smiled to himself and eventually found himself dozing off aswell.

Cassidy and Elizabeth were twins. Michael was 8 years older than both of them. i talked about how michael was here, so on this post i’ll talk about how the other two were!

Cassidy was a very scared child all the time who got sensory overload easily. he was sensitive and cried at the smallest touch. he collected rocks and stuffed animals, and hated the animatronics and the pizzerias. too loud for him. he’d cling to his dad or mom and cry half the time, usually just crying himself to sleep by the end of the ‘trip’. you all know how his and michael’s relationship was. he loved michael and looked up to him, but Mike was the biggest asshole a sibling could be. he terrified him to no end. with lizzie, it was different. she would do his hair, paint his nails, and help him look for rocks. she was a great sister, but was bratty when it came to her toys.

Elizabeth was definitely William’s favorite. she was a child actress, and got pretty much everything she asked for. she could sing beautifully, was a good dancer, and could act very well for her age. she was a doll, william made sure of that. although she was bratty and insensitive at times, she was deep down a very nice girl. she wouldve been so much better if she hadnt been spoiled, but there’s no changing that now. she liked to dig up worms and throw them at people walking by, or put them under Mike’s pillow. she loved making Mike’s life a living hell, and he hated that he couldnt do the same to her without getting scolded by his father. they got along, but they never stopped arguing or pranking each other. there were a few times that Mike took lizzie with him and his friends to go egg houses and cars.

I was thinking about stuff from elementary school again

So like

At my school we weren't allowed to bring stuffed animals to school unless we saved up enough gold slips to have that as a reward for a day

I regularly disregarded this rule and kept a stuffed animal in my backpack without my teachers knowledge

But there were a couple instances where I got ratted out or one occasion in second grade where I'd let my stuffed dog have its head poking out of my backpack and because its head weighed more than its body it fell out and another kid grabbed it and I was sobbing and had to tell my teacher about it

And I got scolded for it every time

HOWEVER

Not only do I think that rule is just fucking stupid

But as I was thinking about it

Having a stuffed animal in my backpack was like 90% of the reason I didn't just try to fuckin bounce at recess some days

Like I may not have technically lived within walking distance but I still KNEW how to get home from my school. Go down Princeton til you get to the big 4 way intersection. Turn left. Go straight til you get to the gas station. Turn right. Walk past the gas station. Turn right again then BOOM theres my apartment.

So there were days when I strongly considered just making a run for it at recess. Realistically I probably wouldn't have made it very far before they caught me. But my fear of getting in trouble might not have been enough to stop me from trying if I hadn't had a stuffed animal in my backpack that I would be leaving behind if I left then. And that was a distressing enough thought that I never actually tried it.

#hell i got left outside once cuz i didnt hear the whistle and was very absorbed in what i was doing so i didnt notice the other kids going #in and i noticed after my class had already gone in and i ran up to the teachers before they could direct the other 2 classes in #and that was the only reason they noticed i didnt go in with my class #so if id just hid out for a minute until they all went in i probably wouldve had a good 5 minutes before anyone realized i was gone #and couldve made a break for it #probably couldve made it at least to the end of princeton before anyone caught up to me #oh and there was that time in middle school when my science class did ''a walk through the solar system''#where the teacher had marked out to scale how far all the planets were from each other within like...idk a mile? 2 miles? from the school #and made us walk there and back for the class #and me and my friends werent super athletic so we ended up getting left behind on the way back #one of my friends called her mom to pick her up #but the teacher just straight up left us out there #that was another time id considered just saying fuck it and going home #and while i didnt have a stuffed animal in my backpack at the school waiting for me my anxiety was much higher by that point #so that held me back then #but i still considered it #honestly if i hadnt been so worried about getting in trouble i probably wouldve accepted my friends offer to ride #back in her moms car with her lol #one time we got my friend althea to ask the security guard at our middle school what hed do if we all just made a run for it #during our outside time we got after lunch #i dont remember what his answer was tho #anxiety also kept me from bouncing at lunch in highschool lol #we got to leave and go to any of the fast food restaurants near by at lunch and we usually had our backpacks with us #ik there were kids that did just bounce at lunch #but there were cops everywhere so i wouldve wanted to go home instead of just hiding out somewhere til the end of the day #and i didnt have a car til the last week of senior year #like yall were lucky i have anxiety otherwise i wouldve just peaced the fuck out when i wasnt feeling it #my dad certainly did #my dad is me with far less anxiety #except i probably wouldnt have ever set the bathrooms on fire

BACKSTORY

Rio doesn't remember much about her childhood, but she remembers living in a house with a loving mother and father.

Her life was changed one night when she was 4 years old. As her mother layed her in her bed, she told Rio that no matter what she heard downstairs to not scream or go down there.

A terrified Rio heard the sounds of her parents being murdered hours later. As the perpetrator was searching the house, he discovered Rio huddled in her bed. But, instead of killing her along with the rest of her family, he decided to kidnap her.

For years, Rio was kept a slave in that person's house. Only hearing of the outside world through TV, radio, and overhearing conversations between houseguests, she had begun to have fantasies of what the world outside the house must be like.

She would find out on the day she was murdered. In the middle of the night, her kidnapper took Rio to an alley armed with a Stand Arrow. Since a Stand Arrow leaves no visible wound after the act, he assumed that Rio would die and whoever found her body would assume she was a runaway that died from malnutrition or something.

However, Rio awoke hours after having the arrow stabbed into her abdomen. But strangely, the alley she remembered being in had changed into a pink castle. With the small bits of knowledge she had, she just thought to herself "I must be dead. So this must be what heaven looks like..." and went back to sleep.

2. There’s a line in the song White Room “She was kindness in the hard crowd” and I like when the musical references tie in to the character’s personality.

At the time of Rio being discovered, I personally headcanon that La Squadra wasn’t fully formed, and the only members being there were Risotto, Sorbet, Gelato, Formaggio, Proscuitto, and Melone. (Illuso, Pesci, and Ghiacchio would be the more recent members) (Sorry if all this is wrong, i havent actually read the manga ;_;)

Anyway, one of the members would be concerned about a pink castle being where a pink castle would not usually be. And they would be more concerned when no one else on the street even payed attention to it, as if it wasn’t there. But, as if the Stand knew someone was there, a door appeared on the castle’s wall. Hesitantly, they opened the door, ready for a battle.

...instead, they saw a disheveled, malnourished, young girl curled up on the dirty ground. When she opened her eyes and stared up at him, she finally spoke.

“God? ...how long have I been dead?”

Eventually, the gangster would take Rio to their home and ask for her story. The original plan was to let the child take a bath, have a meal, and then take her to an orphanage. However, certain details made the gangster feel more pity, like how Rio didn’t know enough about her past to remember her own last name or birthday. But, as soon as she described her “death” via a gold arrow, the assassin realized something bigger.

If someone had access to a Stand Arrow, there was a chance they were part of Passione. It would be dangerous to leave Rio alone. This would eventually (after explaining the situation to Risotto), lead to Rio becoming a resident of the La Squadra safehouse.

Life With La Squadra

Rio would be hesitant at first to ask La Squadra for anything. Not just because they’re intimidating criminals, but because she was already grateful for everything they had done for her. They saved her life, but also bought her clothes and things a kid would need. They also figured out that she was probably 10 years old. Her only request upon being given permission to live in the safehouse was that she would be taught how to read.

As time passed, the walls, both mental and physical (White Room’s fault for the physical ones), between Rio and the other members began to fall. She had begun to view every member as a father figure, even referring to them as “Papa [name]”.

Learning to read also showed the members that Rio was intelligent along with being kind. She had developed a habit of checking out books from the city’s library and copying the text by hand into a notebook as she read it, giving her a copy of her own. While she enjoyed children’s books, she enjoyed non-fiction even more, because it gave her more information about the outside world.

The other members would actually be happy to take Rio out in public when they weren’t on missions. (Especially Formaggio because hed act like she was his real daughter to try and look like a dilf) It would always be entertaining to go from having an intelligent conversation with a booksmart 10 year old to watching them get excited over ice cream or a big teddy bear.

Rio’s favorite things to collect would be stuffed animals and warm blankets. Also books, but she copies hers from the library, so she feels no reason to want to buy any.

Despite being happy and calm most of the time, Rio still has trauma from her past. Certain triggers will suddenly end up with White Room suddenly appearing around Rio, with the memory in question being displayed on the walls for all of the members near her to see. When White Room fades, Rio has usually started crying, and needs a few minutes before she can speak again.

When Rio eventually started copying medical textbooks, she asked (because no one hid the fact that La Squadra killed people) if they could bring a corpse back so she could dissect a body herself. Sorbet and Gelato would be the only ones to say yes, and actually follow through.

Rio eventually learns about Christmas. On her first December 25th with the gang, she gives everyone a knife painted in their favorite color.

Since I headcanon Pesci and Ghiacchio as the youngest of the La Squadra boys, Rio would call them her Big Brothers.

White Room

The whole time she’s with La Squadra, Rio has been training White Room. Eventually, she learned her stand has 3 abilities:

1. It can create a room.

2. It can manipulate the room. The size, the color, etc. She can even display her own thoughts onto the walls.

3. If she understands something completely, she can create a copy of it that only exists inside the room.

Rio realizes she can use her stand for killing was when she was 11. A stranger trying to rob her while she was running an errand alone brought up a fight-or-flight reaction, leading to White Room crushing the attacker as if they were inside a trash compactor.

When Rio learns that she can copy items that she understands, the first thing she asks is to learn how a gun works. The rest of La Squadra had known she would end up as part of Passione someday, because honestly they couldn’t see her having anywhere else to go, but they were wary of letting her join THEIR part of Passione since there was a very high likelihood of death. However, Rio quickly learned the ins and outs of weapons. She proved herself to be worthy as a member of La Squadra when she completed a mission, killing a man by slitting his throat with a knife created by White Room. At 11 and a half years old (possibly because no one really knows how old she is), she became the youngest official member of Passione at the time (and possibly youngest ever).

Rio prefers to work with her father figures on missions rather than work alone. Her strategy is to secure the perimeter of the area with White Room, so the target can’t escape and no one else can enter. Then, she waits with a sniper rifle. She wants to have her papas and brothers backs, and act as support in their battles. It makes her feel like she’s returning the support they always gave her.

How Rio Would End Up In The Events of Vento Aureo

Rio would be 12 years old when Sorbet and Gelato die. As the picture frames were being opened, she would recognize a body part as something she saw in a medical book.

The realization that it was her Papa Sorbet’s body would click in her mind, but she’d refuse to believe it. As the members of the team place the frames in order, they all start to regret letting Rio be in the same room.

She later gets the news of Gelato’s death.

Rio openly weeps at the funeral. This was the first time her heart ever truly felt broken, since she wasn’t old enough when her real parents died to really remember them. It takes Rio a while to start acting like her old self again. Like the rest of La Squadra, she never forgives the Boss for this. Despite feeling anger when Risotto told the gang to just “Forget about Sorbet and Gelato”, she understood that any act of revenge that wasn’t thoroughly planned out would make her or worse, more of her papas and brothers to suffer the same fate.

AU Where Bucci Gang and La Squadra Team Up Because That’s What I Wish Would’ve Happened (Also i just dont want to write Rio dying like they do in canon)

Seriously tho if Giorno or maybe buccellati would've gone on the shopping trip this au probably wouldve happened

Rio would be 14 at the time Giorno happened and the events of Vento Aureo took place.

Rio would love having people closer to her age around. I imagine she'd become friends with Narancia and Fugo (because Narancia can have fun and can give her the childhood fun she never had, and Fugo because finally someone with brain cells). I imagine she’d see one of their study sessions one day and just join.

Tbh Trish and Rio need each other. They need other girls in their lives.

Rio is okay with Mista, but likes Sex Pistols more. Buccellati wishes it wasnt too late for him to adopt her

If the boat scene would still happen in this AU, I think Rio would go with Fugo. It's not that she's scared of fighting the Boss, it's because La Squadra doesn't know if they can handle her dying at such a young age. They tell Fugo that if he's leaving, to take Rio with him in order to track down any possible living relatives (or anyone who could possibly know Rio's true identity)

Before they leave, Rio tells the group to find her again when they come back. She had faith that with their numbers and combined abilities, the 2 gangs could take down whatever was in their path. Sadly, when Giorno reaches out after the events of VA, only a few survived.

Rio would, of course, end up joining Passione again like in Purple Haze Feedback. This last image is a design of an older Rio (maybe age 16-18)

Do you not know how cards work?

This is a long one, and was originally sent through a messenging app to a friend so apologies for any weird formatting/tense inconsistencies in the first place. This happened Jan 2 at Coals.

Line is slow, there's me and another girl on register. Other girl gets a customer so when the next one comes I tell her I'm open; she said that other girl has the rest of her stuff but then she gets it and comes over to me. Her entire purchase is: chocolate covered nuts (3$), Barbie gift wrap (4$), and some boys' levis (47$ or whatever). The levis and candy are excluded from %age off coupons but rewards and other store cash coupons will work. She didn't have any when I asked, so I told her the total would be 58.49, since we also have literally 1 coupon that works in stores rn, and everything else is online only--i knew this bc I checked retailmenot and the app today before work, and have been telling people all day.

So the lady asks if we have any coupons, I tell her: Yes, we have one for x of y amount of intimate wear and the other ones are online only. She tells me she's going to check RMN "not that she doesn't believe me--oh wait I guess i don't" or something similar but kinda joking in that specific assholy way.

I tell her no problem there's no line take your time the reception is kinda bad so it'll give me time to bag you up. She loads RMN, sees that there's online only offers, then looks at the 2 in store ones which are 1) a weird 10% off for egift cards or something or 2) a promotional %age discount for opening a store credit card...which would not work on the anything except the $4 giftwrap, and the lady already has a store credit card so shes ineligible.

So then she looks at her total and asks me if there's really nothing out there and I'm like "unfortunately not", but then she remembers she just did a return and got a credit of about 33$ back to her card, and asks if she can use that.

I tell her sure, it'll just go on your card and show up as different items/transactions but itll just be the difference (like $26) that goes on her statement. I then ask if her rewards account is attached to the store card, she wasn't sure so I told her to go ahead and swipe bc of how the computer works, it wasnt, I asked for her phone number and found the rewards account. I then told her "okay, total is 58.49," which she approved so I hit total, then OKed the amount--which is the last part where I'm able to cancel anything, but we've passed that and the computer is now telling me to ask her to sign the pin pad and I cannot cancel.

Lady then asks: did you apply my credit, and I'm thinking you know how a card works you're like 50.

I tell her "it'll show up as a return of 33$ and then this transaction of 58.49$, so it'll be about 26$ leftover that actually goes into your owed balance." She again asks why her credit didn't show her and i explain again. And again. And another time. I'm halfway tempted to advance some receipt tape to actually write out an example of what it'll look like but again, she's like 50 she should know what it looks like and how it works.

Luckily there's still not really a line so the one or two groups that come up, the other girl handles, but I'm anticipating a small rush, so I tell the Lady "hey, at this point there's nothing I can do because the computer will not allow me to cancel anything. If you don't want to put the 58.49 on your store card, please sign the pad and I can call a manager over to do a void after since it's a store card and you can pay another way. While she's here, she can probably explain the statement thing better than I can." The explanation part is a complete and total lie because she's just going to say the same exact thing I did but it's a manager so.

(I explained how the system works to my friend later: anything with a symbol cannot take % off coupons, and if theres a wrong price, a manager has to do an override. The levis were the correct price so there was literally nothing I could do even if I wanted to help her.)

The manager comes over & asks whats up, and I explain the "credit" situation, and have the receipt ready in case Lady wants to do a void after. Immediately after, the lady tells her, with a Pleasantly Grouchy expression, "She's (me) being a grouch." Keep in mind I've actually been nothing but pleasant and have never gotten a Bad customer comment since I started working in september--occasionally I'm tired but I'm still nice.

Manager then tells her "Since you used your store card, the return went back to that and put 33$ back to your availavle balance, so the 58.49 will even out and the rest will come off." As in, what I told Lady at least 5 times. Manager had to explain it again, and she literally said "it's like a debit card where it'll show deposits and withdrawals with a little minus sign"

Lady asks, "weren't they supposed to give me some thing?"

Manager: "returns are issued back to the original form of payment, so if you had used some thing else, they wouldve given you a merchandise credit", at this point Manager picks up a previously used one as an example and shows it to her. Afaik, MCs are if someone paid cash or with gift card, and store cash coupons get merchandise credit cash coupons. Everything else goes back to the card or credit card.

Manager then walks away to organize some stuffed animals up front, but is still nearby, because customer has been mollified, and I hand her her bag and I'm doing the end of transaction process: circle savings, survey, name.

Anyways the last bit is:

Right as I'm about to do the receipt stuff, Lady tells me, with that same pleasantly grouchy look, "So i guess the moral of the story is to always ask for merchandise credit."

I kinda just smiled because she honestly did not listen to the manager because RETURNS DON'T WORK THAT WAY.

(I forgot to mention that the manager looked at the printer like she wanted to draw out how the statement would look as well)

But the funny paet was after she left my manager came back (she was like 3 feet away) and I told her "I told her the exact same thing you said."

The manager had a weird look on her face then just said "...it's math. She probably doesn't pay the bill anyway."

Then i told her that Lady said I was being a grouch (honestly just wanted to clear it up and make sure it wasn't going to affect me bc i had just asked to stay on after the season) and Manager said that she just blocked it out bc she thought Lady was talking about her so that was good lol

Semirelated: the district manager knows me by name. I didn't recognize her when she came in earlier and was paying at anothet register, but she was using the app and couldn't apply a coupon so I told her, the same manager from above, and the cashier "unfortunately that one is online only," and the manager came around and told me I did a good job.

tldr: Customer, a lady who is at least 50 years old, does not understand how cards work. She did a return on her store card, tries to get credit for a purchase, gives me a hard time about us not having any coupons. I call a manager over and between the two of us, we've explained how a card works at least 10 times. Lady lies and accuses me of being a grouch to my manager in an attempt to get a discount, over what would be $26 to her. 30 minutes earlier, the district manager and the same manager noted that I was helpful and nice.

This is an au placed before the lighteners return. Oh and Jevil jas a historically accurate Jester outfit because fuck you.

||A Time So Far Ago||

The memories so distant... It felt cloudy in the stuffed animal's mind. But the more Seam sat there, remembing the smells and noises of that time, the images began to string together to make a vivid memory.

" Try to keep up, Seam! " a small figure with purplish-blue paled skin and a white mullet ran backwards, it's snake-like tongue looking out of fools mouth as fools tail wagged. " its not my fault I'm slow! I have thick cotton! " the small imp laughed, spinning around to do a somersault and wait. "Well we'll miss the lighteners festival! Just teleport! " " oh you know I can't do that, my magic isn't fitted for teleportation. " the imp pouted, playing with the back of fools mullet before running to the top of the hill. Seam followed suit, panting while sitting down next to the kid. " I wanna be there one day! Right on the Kings' float! I wanna be juggling knives! Showing off my suit magic! Throwing candy at kids! It'd be so fun to be performing for the kings. " " yes it would. I'd be right alongside you, as a magician. " the imp laughed an unusual laugh, watching the colorful festival down below. " Jevil the magnificent Jester and Seam the amazing Magician! Hand in hand bowing in front of the four kings and queens! " Jevil had stood up now, holding fools hand out dramatically for Seam to grab. Seam laughed, stood up, and took fools' hand, both bowing in sync as they laughed.

Something in Seam's soul tingled at the memory, at the imp's smile. At fools' stubby little horns. It made Seam wish to visit fool again but.. Seam couldn't. The world was in such despair and the 'Seap' was the only safe space for the shop keeper. Though maybe.. Just maybe.. A little bit of freedom couldn't hurt.

" NGHHH- POP, POP GOES THE JEVIL! " the Jester laughed, pushing chaos' head back onto the stub of chaos neck. Chaos buttoned the patchwork uniform back up, putting the hat connected to the hood back on. Freedom was lonely and often times boring, but the thoughts of chaos' old friend kept it interesting. Jevil had spent that century mastering tricks like a professional fool would. Chaos was no amatuer jester, no, no. Chaos isn't, isn't. Chaos may dress in what amatuers typically adorned but chaos was skilled! For years, years chaos had practiced, practiced! Chaos stared at the dirty old pile of Lancer's old toys. The king would often order guards to give any broken or disregarded toys to the buffoon to keep chaos entertained. It had hurt the king when he locked chaos up. A jester is always the closest to the king. Mostly because jesters could be honest to the kings without being executed. Jesters were also vital on the battlefield. Chaos was only locked up for chaos' own good. They wouldve let chaos continue to perform but the tricks were getting more and more dangerous, some seriously harming the jester so they had no choice but to force the magician to lock chaos up.

The jester hated the freedom. It was fun at first but chaos had now soiled chaos' pants in more than one way, was too sweaty and dirty to even move, and the games chaos played with chaosself only last a few minutes. But then a visitor arrived.

" Jevil. "

" ... Seam! "

" I've missed you old friend. "

" cool, cool. What are those rags, rags you have, have? "

" new clothes for you. I guessed your size so they might not be accurate. I've also made some apple pie for y- "

The clawed hand snatched the clothes from behind the darkened bars, very quickly changing.

" ahhh! Perfect, perfect! They don't have toilets in freedom, freedom. So I'm glad you brought these, these. "

".... Too much information. I just thought you wouldn't want your old performance clothes anymore. "

The jester pushed chaosself up to the bars so Seam could get a clear look. The absence of staples on the line around the neck showed Jevil had popped chaos' head recently, there were obvious claw scars and others all along the face and body, and two nips in both pointed ears like they'd been cut.

" Jevil... "

" oh don't worry, worry! They hurt no longer! "

Seam had noticed some self inflicted scratches and bites but said nothing, only got out the key, a small door appearing. Seam walked through the door, holding the pie out for the jester who scarfed it down on 5 seconds. Seam just stared the the imp, watching chaos finish the pie. The magician stepped closer, wrapping Seam's arms tightly around the prisoner.

Jevil smiled, tongue lolling out of mouth. Chaos pulled the tongue back, biting on chaos' lower skin with Chaos' overbite before hugging back.

" hey Seam, Seam. Guess what, what? "

" what is it, old friend? "

Jevil's head popped off the neck, springing up to be eye-level with Seam. The tongue rolled out the mouth once again, only to go back in as chaos gave Seam a small kiss on the nose. Seam got the hint and gave Jevil a sandpaper lick on the cheek like it was a kiss. The Jester laughed, pushing chaos' head back down and springing up on their tail.
