dave tries to impress jade to get her attention because he likes her

he doesnt mind jade’s inane riddles honestly. he isn’t perturbed by how she just knows things like rose is, because he doesnt think into it too far. he trusts her
he spends a lot of time indulging in her interests and showers her in his music and poetry
they draw things for each other a lot <3 jade has the pictionary modus and seems pretty good at drawing and of course dave sent her sbahj as furries in the mail. sending jpegs over the internet is BABY NONSENSE. real boys send their childhood friend/crush pictures they drew for them through the INTERNATIONAL POSTAL SYSTEM to an unspecified island in the middle of nowhere, pacific ocean that gets packages dropped by plane so the recipient can tangibly hold it and hang it in their room

basically she allows dave to take initiative when HE feels comfortable and confident in sharing the things he’s self-conscious about. this really helps him be comfortable and form a strong bond with her
dave would wrap his arms around her to “ironically” imitate a pair of tangle buddy squiddles (while actually concealing genuine affection basically unbeknownst to himself) but he winds up looking just a little too into it for just an “ironic” bit yall……
jade is slower to realize her deeper feelings since she shows love to everyone (so long as theyre deserving of it!!!) it just hits her one day that she actually Likes him in a special way, while for dave it is more dynamic and gradual but very on the downlow, expressed in creative acts and services
once dave actually recognizes he’s really caught feelings for her down the line, dave and jade happily do the tangle buddies hug all the time. its like their handshake. its their weird couple thing

Space goes for breadth, for ideas, for expansive, holistic input, while Time goes for needlepoint focus and a rapid-turnover ability to pull through on the prompt. The deafening noise of the helicopter blades overrode every other sound at the base. The hair of the young man descending from the Helicopter stairs was swirling in the stirred-up air, making it hard for him to see anything at all. The pilot chuckled at the rookies obviously intimidated posture. “Go on, make yourself at home!”, he yelled. The youngster felt a bit more confident now, even if it was only a tiny bit.
You slung your bag over your shoulder and began walking towards the entrance, since you were told you’d be greeted there. You were meant to be at this place, but your low self esteem made you feel as small as a mouse. But you did graduate at the top of your military training, so you packed quite a punch. Other people would describe you as ambitious but sweet, which some dickheads saw as an invitation to pick on you.
“Soldier, Welcome!”, a man with a quirky fisherman’s hat greeted you. You offered him a warm smile, inhaling deeply before you spoke. “I’m assuming you’re Captain Price?” The air smelled fresh and was slightly cool, running a chill down your spine. The bearded man grinned at you, “Yes, indeed. And you are L/N F/N?” You saluted hastily, “Yes sir!” His grin widened a tiny bit. “At ease soldier, let me introduce you to my boys.”, stepped to the side, revealing a group of soldiers, all of them looking very unique.
“Hi, I’m Kyle but you can call me Gaz!”, the young man with an incredibly beautiful face smiled at you. You offered him a small nod while you were wondering what the hell his skincare routine was. “Soap MacTavish! Lookin’ fahrward to working with ye!”, his thick Scottish accent very apparent. He held his hand to you, giving you a hearty handshake. You eyed the next man carefully, examining his clothed face, which only revealed his dark brown eyes to you. “Ghost.”, his words felt like a cold hand crawling up your back, gripping your soul and ripping it right out of you. Your knees felt weak, and your posture shrank ever so slightly.
The rest of the team has introduced itself to you, each and every individual letting their character shine through. But that clamming, cold feeling still hasn’t left you. “So, rook. You can’t just fuck around and find you, so I’ll assign you a mentor. We don’t want to waste your potential, now do we?”, he paused quickly, looking at you intently, smiling. “…And maybe that bastard will learn something too.” He then directed his smile towards Ghost, causing him to roll his eyes at his Captain. “Lieutenant, would you please show our rook around?” Ghost only responded with a sigh and began walking away, not waiting for you to catch up. You quickly scurried after him, not before quickly saying goodbye to the others.
Ghosts’ steps were big, your smaller form was struggling to keep up, but you’d never admit that out loud. “Here are the barracks.”, he curtly nodded towards a big entrance, numbered with some ungodly long cipher. He also showed you the multiple gyms that the base offered, peeking your head in to check out all of the machines available. The washrooms were pretty close by, allowing you to quickly use the toilet, since you didn’t get the chance earlier.
Your mentor has proven himself extremely important to you, even if he was a bit gruff sometimes. “AIM STRAIGHT YOU ASSHOLE” or “GODDAMN IT, ROOK. KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED” could often be heard over the radio during your missions. But the more time passed, the closer you two got.
“You want one?” Simon offered you a cigarette as you two were standing outside of the base, a cool gust of wind passing through. You shook your head, thinking it might just be impossible to even light one with this wind. “Nah, got my vape.”, your voice was barely above a whisper. Your Lieutenant shrugged indifferently, picking his lighter out of the pockets of his jeans. He’d never tell you that, but he cared deeply about you. To him you were like a younger brother and he’s willing to defend you in any situation.
This day came way too fast, ripping you out of the daily routine you’ve been following for over a year now. A heavy, awkward silence fell over the base. The one-four-one knew what would happen, today you’d be joining the Forze speciali italiane (Italian special forces) and would be permanently deployed there, meaning you won’t be part of the 141 anymore. Most of the guys have already said their goodbyes, some of them had a pained expression on their face, others (Soap lol) were bawling their eyes out. But someone has been avoiding you all day. Simon. You urgently wanted to talk to him, knowing it would eat you up from the inside for eternity if you didnt.
You hesitantly knocked on Simon’s door, waiting a bit too long for a response. A muffled “Come in” could be made out over the steps of some soldiers down the hall. You entered the room, carefully closing the door. Your friend was sitting at his desk, writing something on a piece of paper. You sat on his bed, like you’ve done many times before. You two were silent for a while, both not sure what to say. Then you slowly began. “So… how are you?” Simon turned around in his chair and looked at you intently. “Shut the fuck up.” Just a few seconds later and you were pulled into a tight hug. This was all that it took to make you cry like a little child, sobbing in your friends’ arms. You were surprised to hear Simon sniffling too, was he crying? As you two parted, you saw that he was indeed crying as his eyes were red and his blond eyelashes stuck together because of the tears.
You looked at your shiny wristwatch, standing up again. “I really gotta go. I’ll miss you Si.” You offered him a warm smile.
And with that you were gone.
The smell of fresh cut trees adorned the air, leaving you content. Your hair was dancing in the wind, looking a lot like the flames of a hungry fire. For the past five years you’ve been part of the Italian special forces, being an important asset. You’ve worked your way up the ladder and could now proudly call yourself a Lieutenant. In the past years you have collected a lot of experience but not all of it good.
“We’re here L,t.”, the pilot pulled you out of your thoughts. As soon as the helicopter had landed, you jumped out and moved towards the all too familiar entrance.
“Rook! Or rather Lieutenant!”, Price greeted you warmly, patting you on the shoulder in a dad-like manner. You laughed, chit chatting with him as you continued walking. You met Gaz, Soap and Roach, making idle small talk with them, when Simon appeared out of thin air, as usual. He stared at you, not believing his eyes. “Y/N…?”, he whispered hesitantly. You walked up to him, happy to see your friend again. Tears were welling in your eyes, you thought you might never see him again. Simon hugged you with his strong arms, gripping you tightly, scared that you might just be a phantom of his imagination. You looked different, more mature, but also like you’ve seen some shit. You were still his friend from back then, but there was a hint of seriousness in your aura. Maybe it was also the gigantic scar across your whole face, indicating a serious injury, as it barely missed your eye. You guys definitely had a lot to catch up on.

Little notes app drabble about Gryffon, contains spoilers up to episode 92 electrodon.

Gryffon waits for the mutiny
He’s certain these captains can’t be all that in control of their ship, not when their crew consists of an semi-conscious man, a robot with a people pleasing problem, and a small boy. In fact, he’s sure the only reason a mutiny hasn’t happened is the fact that none of the crew looks like they could fight the captains.
He’d take the 3 v 1 if he still had something else to do, but with grimm gone he’s fine with playing their game of pirates. The kids don’t seem half bad, and they’re going to pay him, so he supposed patience will do for now.
Gryffon thinks Alphonse might be the best option for backup if they are ever going to do that mutiny. Of course, with the metal man’s ever growing confidence -a good look on him- he’s going to have to offer up something he would want in return for the betrayal. And he’s struggling to think of what he would want.
He clears his throat, resting on the railing awkwardly as Alphonse steers, “so, are you happy here?”
He should bite his own tongue off. That would help.
Alphonse either doesn’t recognize the awkwardness of the question, or doesn’t want to comment on it. “I am content. Navigation does not fill me with dopamine, but nor does it bore me.”
“Good, uh that’s good.” Gryffon spins the barrel on his arm, its a nervous tic, but no one has caught on to that fact seeing as it’s also incredibly intimidating. “Is there something that would, uh, fill you with dopamine?”
Alphonse goes still in the way Gryffon has learned means he’s thinking hard. “I enjoy building. Creation is-“ his voice goes a little staticky and Gryffon makes a note to ask him later what that means he’s feeling. Later though, when they’re actually friends, if that happens, “creation is special.”
“Cool.” Gryffon walks off, feeling like maybe he’s walked into more of a vulnerable conversation than he’d been expecting.
Despite the strength the kid possesses, his second choice for a mutiny is the man that does more sleeping than talking.
He doesn’t mean to spend his time watching him, but he has a hard time getting a read on him when he’s sleeping so any time he’s up and walking around he finds himself attentive.
He’s never swabbed the deck for so long before, as the man sits at the front of the boat and just stares off into the distance.
He’s been slowly putting together that he can’t use his arms, something he feels uniquely awkward about.
It’s clear the experience is new and jarring to the stranger, and part of gryffon wants to bring up the subject of his own arm, maybe try and give him a little of the hope that is missing in his gaze. He’s noticed that the man doesn’t ask for help with anything, gritting his teeth and making it work however he can. He’s more independent than gryffon had been and that fact alone makes him wary, clearly he doesn’t need help, he doesn’t need gryffons awkward attempts at comfort. They don’t even know each other.
“I know I’m comatose most of the time, but if you stare at me I’m going to notice.” The man speaking startled gryffon so hard he drops the mop.
“Sorry.” He would blush in embarrassment if he could. “Didn’t mean to… stare.”
The man shrugs and turns back to looking at the ocean, “I’m Drey.”
“Gryffon.” Gryffon says. He’s itching to talk more but can’t find a line of dialogue to open with.
“Chip isn’t usually like this.” Drey sounds like he’s trying to reassure him. “The kid’s been through a lot recently. He’s probably having a harder time keeping it together.”
Gryffon grunts in acknowledgement and shifts awkwardly, “the other captains handle him well. He’s lucky he has them.”
He thinks he sees Drey smile, “Yeah, they’ve got a tight bond the three of them. And the way chip works? I wouldn’t be surprised if he feels that same loyalty for everyone on this ship.”
Well. That would make a mutiny awkward.
“Is that smart?” Gryffon asks.
Drey turns and looks at him, eyes narrowed in the sun but perceptive nonetheless. After a moment he grins, “maybe, maybe not. But I don’t think they’ve picked wrong yet. They have a knack for finding the loyal ones.”
Gryffon chuckles, “you haven’t heard the mutiny I’m planning?”
Drey laughs and leans back to lie on the deck, “if you’re thinking of asking me to join I’ll have to disappoint. I probably owe those kids my life, and I’m just as stupidly loyal as chip is.”
Gryffon grins. “I figured.”
He approaches Drey later when the man’s stomach rumbling is loud enough for him to hear. He can tell he doesn’t want to cook, and he’s starting to think his skinny frame is due to exhaustion, more than metabolism.
“Mind giving me a hand.” Gryffon says. Immediately he thinks he should take a dive overboard because fuck that was the wrong choice of words.
Drey takes it in stride, raising an eyebrow and shrugging his shoulders, “I’m not using ‘em. “
“Poor choice of words.” Gryffon finds his apology easily accepted as Drey follows him into the cabin area. “I’ve been trying to cook for Alphonse. Introduce him to new flavors, to kind of… help with self discovery. Stuff he likes and doesn’t like.”
The more he explains it the more he wants to hide from dreys gaze. He doesn’t hide from his soft and cuddly nature, but acknowledging it is always hard.
“He’s been telling me everything tastes fine. Which is good but has me wondering if I’m fucking it up somehow.” Dreys stomach growls again and gryffon can’t pretend not to hear it. “And you, sound a little hungry yourself.”
Drey nods. “I could use some grub.”
Gryffon turns to start cooking, trying to reset the vibe of the room.
Drey clears his throat. “You haven’t brought up the arms.”
Gryffon shrugs but doesn’t deny his curiosity. “No one gets that injured without a story they don’t want to relive.” He lifts his prosthetic a little, “speaking from experience.”
When Drey doesn’t say anything and he doesn’t have the clarity of looking at him to see how he’s reacting, he adds, “and I’m not great at talking about it. Figured I’d offend you.”
Drey grunts. “Well, if it helps, I don’t remember how it happened. Everything that happened in the BLOCK is all mushed together in my head.”
“You were in prison?” Gryffon shakes his head, “fuck. So that’s what they do to prisoners, huh?”
There’s a sigh from behind him, “I think I may have been a special case. Family issues.”
Right. He’s a Ferin too.
“Family reunions must be exciting.”
Drey laughs, and gryffon feels like he’s somehow won social interaction. “I wouldn’t know. My invitation always gets lost.”
The boy is surprisingly eager to mutiny. Gryffon thinks part of it is his lack of understanding about what a mutiny is.
He’s a good kid though, due in part to the captains, but there’s something else about him. He carries himself like he’s used to toughing it out.
It’s part of the reason he accepts the role of lemonade stand security. He remembers being a cub, before everything had gone to shit. There had been summers where kids his age would roll out beverage stands for coppers, just to buy a few sweets or a new toy. Ollie doesn’t look like he’s done that before, and gryffon thinks Drey might be right. Maybe he is one of the loyal ones, hed just never had a place to put it before.
Gryffon wants to kill the captains. Not a mutiny, a murder. Three of them.
It won’t help, not when Jay is working overtime on bringing the shell that used to be Alphonse back to life and killing her would mean he’s gone for much longer. Not when chip speaks so earnestly about getting him back. Or when Gillion stays sleepless, steering and staring at the horizon like all he can think about is what went wrong.
Not when it’s probably his fault for getting too fucking high and leaving his friends to fend for themselves.
“We’ll get him back.” Drey kicks his shin. It’s his new form of expressing affection, as gryffon has learned. It doesn’t help, it just makes gryffon think about how he deserves to actually be kicked.
Gryffon decides mutiny can take a backseat to the harder task; keeping his crew together.

Summer headcanons (but you’re dating)
it’s been very hot here so the inspiration for this is obvious. i still have to add kai and wesley, but i’m not far enough into my friendship with them to confidently write this for them yet. will come soon!
Claude
Summer’s too hot for him, he is not a fan. The heat smothers his creativity, he says.
Claude can’t handle heat very well. He gets unwell easy and sweats a lot. Still, he likes to keep to a routine and doesn’t change his afternoon errand run to fit the warm weather. He often ends up dehydrated or almost fainting when the day is especially hot.
The result is that you have to look after him a bit more than usual. You like o deliver fresh crops and meals, just so you know he has something to eat in case he can’t finish his errands because of the heat. It is a labor you do out of love.
(And it’s a labor he loves you even more for.)
While he’s constantly hot and has little to do, you won’t find Claude at the beach often. He doesn’t like the sand and he doesn’t like swimming. If you do, it will take some convincing to get him to join you. You’ll have a great time if he does, though. He’ll walk along the shore with you, and keep the shells you give him forever.
Darius
Seasons in Withergate aren’t as obvious as in Sun Haven. Besides, the darkness prevents most heat from settling. Summer is not really a big change for Darius.
It is for you, though. Coming and going from Sun Haven and Nel’Vari the difference in temperature is quite a shock. The cool air is usually more than welcome, and Darius is more than happy to see you come more often.
Withergate doesn’t have any special summer activities, snacks, or even a nice beach . Since Darius comes to Sun Haven’s celebrations, he wants to make something special about Withergate, too. So, Sporadically, he lets people organize small themed parties. Not obvious summer parties, but there will be bright decorations.
He’s spent a lot of his time trying to keep you out, trying to make you feel like an outsider. Now, he’s accommodating his city to your seasons to make you feel more at home.
Donovan
Would absolutely love to spend a day at the beach. Since he talks about the beach any day it’s warm, you decide to invite him to your farm, where you have your own strip of land.
He’s very excited. He missed the warmth, and just look at that clear water! Try getting anything done with an excited Donovan running around your farm, probably dripping wet.
You love seeing him happy, and you love making him happy. If he’s comfortable, you’d invite him over more and more. He’d go into Sun Haven, too. Explore the city and it’s people. Donovan in the summer is another kind of happy.
Just be prepared for the smell of wet dog to linger!
Jun
Is maybe the most easy person to ever exist, he has no complaints at all. In fact, he has nothing but good things to say about any season.
Likes that it’s warm, even if the kids sometimes get cranky because of the heat. He knows just how to bribe them: a cookie each and a cold, fresh piece of fruit.
Jun is a big fan of doing fun things in the summer. He lies to use every minute he has, and spends his evenings or mornings painting or journaling. He also likes to sit near his pond during sunset, preferably with you by his side.
Likes to spend nights at your farm. He claims the farmhouse of much cooler than his home. If he stays the night, he’ll get up with you at six in the morning and go for a swim while you take care of your farm (but only if you insist you don’t need his help).
Just try focusing on your work when he walks back from the sea, hair dripping and skin cool and wet and shiny. He likes it when you stare, though. He still loves seeing you blush.
Liam
Still has to work super hard. You don’t know how he doesn’t end up having a heatstroke every other day. All he does is be inside his hot bakery or be under the scorching sun.
Is too busy for a full day of relaxation, but will regularly make time to spend a couple of hours on the beach with his sisters. Since the girls like you so much, you’re often invited.
Just don’t think it will be romantic, you’ll spend hours building sandcastles or plotting with the girls to splatter Liam with seawater.
As his partner, you have to remind him to drink enough. He simply forgets.
Liam is very busy, but one evening a week is dedicated to you, as long as you don’t want to travel too far from his home every week. It’s a sweet sentiment, and those days you’re usually treated to some kind of summer-fruit pastry made just for you.
Nathaniel
His armor is so warm. He doesn’t like to complain, but on an especially hot day, something might slip. Only to you, though.
He’s always grateful when he can get out of his armor. As much as you love him, he will need a shower before you can get all close and comfortable.
Nathaniel’s favorite spot to guard during summer is the docks. The sea breeze is always cool, and he likes looking over the sea. It’s even better if you join him for some afternoon fishing, but if not, Peter, Rupert, or Kai are near to have a chat with him.
Most evenings are spent with his men and women. They usually hoist the tables outside when the sun begins to set. Located near the forest, the barracks are usually not too hot.
He also likes calm evenings with you a lot. Some days he just needs a break from all the noise. Those days, he likes going down the beach again, or being on your farm.
When you bring him down to your farm, he’ll always try to help you with something. Have you been crafting? He can help you finish! Forgot to water some plants? You already did so many, he’ll take care of them for tonight! He claims he finds helping you relaxing, so you allow him to help in small ways.
Vaan
It’s cooler in Nel’Vari, because the trees offer shade from the hot sun. It’s still warm, something that can mostly be felt through the warm breeze.
It’s a different wind from other seasons, something he feels more than others. He likes to experiment with his magic and the summer breeze a lot. Little people complain about the extra wind.
Vaan likes lounging around even more during summer. He spends a lot of time with Nel’Vari’s people, talking and laughing while taking little serious. He still likes being alone, and lounges near your farm when he doesn’t want to be around others. He always hopes you walk past.
He really loves your farm. During the summer, he doesn’t visit Sun Haven as much. Instead, he’ll come to your Nel’Vari farm. He prefers it if you’re there, of course, but is also content to be alone among your hard work.
If he invites you to do something, it’s most likely very laid back. Just being in his house or your farm sounds perfect to him. He’s convinced you work too hard and need to relax more, anytime he can convince you to stop working for an hour or two is a win for him.
Wornhardt
He doesn’t like summer very much. It’s too hot, he still has a lot of work to do, and his doctors coat is simply too warm.
He’d like to just take the whole summer off, but he can’t, and since he does like being a doctor, he fights through it.
Since Sun Haven is so warm, he has to treat a lot of heat strokes, and it can get frustrating, seeing the same person come in with the same issues weeks in a row.
Of course he’s talking about you. As Wornhardt puts it, you should relax more and stop running around when it’s boiling hot. Being a farmer and all, you can’t just drop all your work. As doctor, he’s taken to surveilling you from one to three in the afternoon, forcing you out of the sun. As your boyfriend, he just wants to spend a few hours a day with you.
You’ll still work a little, even with him near you. You might teach him how to fish from the shade of a tree (he’s very proud when he catches the tiniest fish on his first try) or take him for a walk in the forest to gather some fruit (since he’s surveilling you, he can carry them).
It’s a bit annoying at first, but you like spending time with him and it’s undeniable that you feel better out of the hot sun.

J2 Chicon Main Panel 2023
The panel starts with Jared telling us he’s finally getting his knee looked at to get it fixed! He's getting it treated by a doctor right there in Chicago. Actually, his appointment was today, Monday, so hopefully, that went well 🙏He's been putting it off for a while so I'm glad he's getting treatment and I wish him a full and speedy recovery.
On to questions, why did Dean decide to get killed at the end of the series? I’m typing it as it was asked people.
Jensen jokes that if you look closely, if you play it in slow motion you can see him steering and telling the guy where the nail was, telling him to put him on it and end this misery 😂 But seriously, no, he did not choose that and neither did Dean but it was something that was heavily talked about and discussed. They knew that ending when they started the season and it’s no secret that it took him a while to come around to it, he didn’t want to see Dean die either but something they were talking about earlier in their meet and greet is that when really important characters get killed in shows, movies, and stuff it unfortunately does suck sometimes but it does make for good storytelling and good drama and that’s what they’re in the business of doing.
Jared says that Jensen’s not joking between s14 and s15 they knew 15 was gonna be the final season and they met with Dabb and Singer in LA who kinda told them the short pitch, they didn’t know what every episode was about or what every scene was about but they told the boys what they were working towards, and it kinda caught them both off guard and Jared thinks probably every season of SPN in the writer's room started off with one idea and it changed but he thinks he and Jensen both chatted about it in the earlier parts of season 15 that it kinda made sense in the storyline because he thinks if Sam had died first and Dean knew he had taken Sam out of college to bring him back into the life that would have been the end of him he wouldn’t have been a very happy fellow. So, he thinks it happened for a reason but it is SPN they can have people come back to life. And hopefully, we get to see the boys ride again. x
Other than each other who were their fav actor or actress in the show to play against? That gave them a lot to work with
Jared says one of the people who gave the most did it in a weird way cause he gave so little and that person is MC 🤣
He says he's teasing...but for like 2 days a month the guy was on set but in seriousness he loved Sully, he feels Sully was to Sam like C was to Dean. There was stuff the boys shared with a confidant they wouldn’t share with each other not because they wanted to keep secrets which they did often but you get to see a different side of Dean with C, and a different side of Sam with Sully. He also really enjoyed working with the Marks both Pellegrino and Sheppard.
For Jensen there’s are a lot of characters and a lot of actors that were really fun to work with he names two off the top of his head: Ruth, he says she came every day and was one of those actresses that would show up on set and elevate everybody’s performance levels, and it was so fun to watch her work but also be in a scene with her, another one is Lisa Berry and the funny thing about her is that she’s actually a big fan of the show so when the cameras weren't rolling she'd be like 'oh this is so cool don’t tell me anything I gotta wait for it to come out' and then they would yell action and she’d snap right into character that she's so good and again so fun to work with.
Jared asks Jensen if he remembers the snake guy in Yellow Fever, and Jensen replies that how could he forget cause when the snake started to crawl over his shoulder, Jared got up and left the room and all he heard was Jared going 'nope nope nope nope' 😂 Meanwhile, he couldn’t move cause he had 180 pound snake on his shoulder but the reason they mentioned the guy is that the actor who played him was a fan of the show and he said that all he had read was his scene so not to tell him anything else cause he wanted to watch it when it came out. x
What made them get into directing, what made them want to do it, and does Jensen have a future in directing?
It was a natural progression for Jensen, he kinda took an interest in wanting to know why the director would put the camera in a certain place, why they would have it move, why that lens would help advance the story especially and he really just kinda became interested in knowing more about it because he thought it might help him with his performance in front of the camera. It didn’t but what it did do is got him interested in storytelling from the other side of it, and the questions and talking with Kim Manners and Bob and Phil and all these guys who were masters of their craft he just kinda naturally became interested in it, and it was actually Kim Manners who told him he would be directing one of the eps one day and Jensen's reaction was to scoff and be like 'what? no'. But it came to a point where he said that if he talk to the producers and feel comfortable enough with giving him this responsibility he would do everything in his power not to mess that up so they did; it wasn’t something he demanded in his contract, he said if you trust and believe in me enough I will do the best I can and they did so he did it 6 times. At this point, he doesn’t have any directing gigs lined up, he is certainly open to it but right now there’s nothing like that because there’s a strike going on. But he does enjoy it and hopes he gets to do it more in the future.
Jared says he came in and was a natural he was beyond a natural he was…supernatural. x
If they were to create a bucket list what would be on that list?
Jared immediately goes: words probably 🤣 He doesn’t think he gets a vote in this but he’d like to become a grandparent sometime, and he doesn’t know, there are a lot of things he'd like to do.
Jensen also doesn’t know, he says has more of a not bucket list but it rhymes with that which makes Jared say bucket fist- I can't with him.
Anyways, for Jensen it’s less like I really wanna do this and it’s more I’ll do it why not; he’s traveled to a lot of places, and he’s sure there are places he'd like to see but he hasn’t sat down and made a bucket list yet.
Jared mentions that he wanted to go to Poland and then he got to go, he was excited and it was a joy x
What cologne are they wearing?
Jared has four different colognes: BLEU de Chanel, he was gifted a Gucci Guilty and Salvatore Ferragamo, and he has a Tom Ford one as much as I tried I could not hear clearly which one he has but I think it might be Fucking Fabulous. And, yes that is a real name of a Tom Ford parfum.
Jensen's is just a beard balm that’s called spicy wood.
Jared cannot resist and starts to make a joke about Jensen liking wood on his- and then cuts himself off. No comment x
What do they remember best from each season?
Okay, so the answer to this was a little over the place, especially near the end cause they needed the fan's help to figure out things from the later seasons I'm gonna do my best to recap it but it is going to be condensed and paraphrased for the sake of clarity. If you wish to watch the full moment, which was fun, I always provide timestamps.
From s1 Jensen remembers having divers hold his feet and hold him underwater with a young child in Dead in the Water and that was a very freaky feeling being held underwater especially when you’re responsible for some other person's child. Jared remembers, from that episode, the hot tub they had set off camera because the lake they were filming in is super cold and they had to be in there so long there were concerns they could become hypothermic so they set up a hot tub so in between takes they could warm up.
From s2 Jared mentions cutting his scalp off but that was actually s3 so Jensen shares about s2 that in AHBL pt2 when Dean gets thrown against the tombstone by YED the tombstone had been foamed so he could really dive into it but it only covered the arch, the base was still stone and he was young and stupid and he gave it a little extra, he turned at the last second and his ulnar nerve also called the funny bone hit the corner of the stone and he says his whole arm went numb then felt like it was on fire. But he didn’t yell cut cause it was Fredric Lehne's coverage so he just slowly rolled over and his arm was vibrating it was one of the most grueling pains he’s ever experienced and to this day that elbow, which is his left one, is much more sensitive if he bumps it even slightly it’s like hitting his funny bone all over again. They continue, in s2 Jared also broke his wrist and in season 3 he ripped his scalp off. For s4 they mention Ruby being played by G, season 5 is Swan Song, Jensen mentions he had a thing on his eye like the prosthetic and the glue started to melt and that season was also assbutt and the bottle not breaking.
Season 6 was soulless!Sam and Jensen remembers the shirtless pull up scene cause of course he does, for s7 Jared mentions Dick Roman, turducken, and Bobby dying.
Jensen: Season 8
Jared: was great
Jensen: season 9 was fine 😂
They continue, and this is when fans really started helping them out cause these men were struggling, for 8 Jared remembers the trials, at 9 is where Jensen says it starts to get really fuzzy.
From s10 Jared remembers not from set but from Van the 200th episode party, and Jensen remembers there was a high school musical episode. They continue with the fans help at s14 Jensen recalls the "marionette fight" between Dean and Lucifer and does a hilarious demonstration, he says it was the worst moment in his and Pellegrino's career they were just holding each other in the air thinking they’ll never work again. Wrapping it up with s15 Jensen says rusty rebar, and Jared says the wig was his I’ll never work again moment. Jensen says he remembers watching that episode and going 'oof what dead animals did they put on his head?' when he saw the wig 😂
Is there a weapon they think they didn’t get to use enough or a weapon they wish they had?
Jared answers the throwing stars, they never got to use them and he always thought it’d be clever for them to put salt on them or something. Jensen always thought it would be like a scene where Sam walks out and Dean’s mounted a 50 cal to the roof. Jared thinks if they had that and hula hoops filled with salt they’d still be alive. Jensen also mentions if they put their pistols on a bungee.
Jensen will say this, the angel blades they had- they had many cause they would constantly break. They had several variations the real ones cast out of metal and then ones that are called rubber weapons but which are actually hard plastic those things would break if you looked at it wrong, they didn’t work very well but the metal cast ones had such an even weight distribution on it. He misses spinning them and doing tricks with them, they would get into trouble with Robin from props because they would be playing with them and she'd have to take them away. They would also play with their flashlights and I don't know how to describe the noise that Jared makes when talking about this but it is so funny 😂
In the Star Trek fandom there is a hand sign for when you recognize a fellow fan or even come across one of the actors, what is the SPN hand sign?
The boys have nothing. They throw some ideas around, and then someone in the crows says rock, paper, scissors which makes Jared remember and share that while he was on vacation in Mexico with his fam he had a dream that he and Jensen were playing rock, paper, scissors, that is funnny and cute x
Last question! In the 15 seasons of acting out constant trauma how did it affect them? And how did they take care of their mental health?
Jared says there’s so many ways to think about this, and he never thought about it, but because they were playing in a sci-fi world there are no boundaries, they got to explore and play multiple characters and they both had wins and losses so long term it helped him learn to be curious, short term there were days he would get home after a really hard emotional scene completely exhausted, they’d have whole days of doing fight sequences and they'd be sweaty and tired but get home and be feeling great but then they'd have days that were emotionally draining for Sam and Dean and get home and be like 'I can't move' and feeling like they'd rather run 10 miles. At which point, Jensen says that Jared would run.
They’d get home late, and even if they didn't have a lot of hours before they had to go back to set, Jared would still get up and run his 4 or 5 miles, and Jensen would be like did you run? And Jared would tell him yes. And Jensen says Jared did this not because of physicality but it was mental for him, he needed to get up and have that moment. Jensen sounds so domestic talking about Jared going on his morning runs, and knowing what he needs for his mental health 💕
Running didn’t work for Jensen, for him what worked was burying himself in the work every day, and if he wasn't working he was moving traveling somewhere, or doing something to keep busy, busy was his buddy. x

for context, i was raised baptist, im queer, my mother converted in her late 20s i believe? and my father was raised strictly baptist as well. my mom has been listening to sermons on youtube obsessively, and my father will lose his mind if you (collective) say ANYTHING that has even the slightest chance of questioning the bible in any way. i’m closer with my mom than my dad, we both have adhd and im autistic, my dad is emotionally and verbally abusive.
i started questioning pretty much everything since mid 2020 ish??, and i just started accepting the idea that my parents would probably disown me, or at the very least ground me until they’re dead, if they knew anything about me that’s not an ✨image i’ve made specifically for them✨. (my main spotify acc has seen so many mental breakdowns it’s not even funny at this point😐)
anyways i just was wondering if there’s a Specific Reason i’ve been really really drawn to catholicism, catholic guilt, and really anything regarding that? it’s just been like A Thing for me especially really recently and i’m just always sitting there like “why tf do i feel like i have catholic guilt i’ve only stepped foot in a catholic church one single time and it was for a craft show????”
if there’s no specific answer that’s totally cool i just thought i’d try to ask someone who seems to know what they’re talking about bc ive been thinking about it a LOT recently
(i also feel like im letting down my grandma, she was the sweetest lady and she absolutely made my childhood so much better and im so grateful for her. she was pretty much the backbone of her church, she died seven years ago and i just feel like if she saw me now she wouldn’t recognize me even if she had every form of proof in the world it was me. i don’t know if she would even accept i was her grandkid at this point.)
It’s so great that you are giving yourself room to become more than what others expect you to be. We all deserve that. And it takes courage to create space for yourself, especially in a worldview that tends to reduce our self image.
I am so sorry that you are dealing with an abusive situation. Your safety is important and you deserve to have a healthy support system.
I think that the idea of “Catholic guilt” is a more popular trope than guilt from Protestant traditions. I see it mentioned more in personal conversations and in books, TV, and movies. It absolutely makes sense that this idea would resonate with you.
It can be helpful to study other traditions to give you context for your own experience, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to claim something from another religious tradition as your own. It doesn’t sound like that’s what you’re doing, I just try to be careful about stuff like that.
I was also raised in a Protestant faith, but I had Catholic friends and attended Mass at several points in my life. When I was still a believer, it seemed like there was a great chasm between these belief systems. But now that I have some distance from my former faith, I see that they have more similarities than differences. Shame and guilt run through them both. There’s guilt about familial obligations, Jesus’ death, and “sinful” actions. (I personally think that sin is just one god’s opinion and it matters more that we try to treat each other well than follow a non-negotiable rulebook.)
It may not be possible to be totally open now now, but I believe it will be in the future. I didn’t share my doubts when I was still dependent on my parents and it felt awful at the time to keep anything private. Because it felt like privacy implied guilt. But now I am grateful to my past self for waiting until I felt secure enough to share my doubts. I found people who felt safe and confided in them. I built relationships based on mutual respect and informed choices, which hadn't felt possible before.
I still have distance with some of my religious family members. But some of my more progressive family members and I have made a lot of progress in understanding each other. Love can overcome doctrine in many relationships, but not others. It’s a difficult reality to face, especially when you don’t have the opportunity to communicate with them. I know that I had to grieve the people I’d lost and the idea that I would see them in heaven. But there are people in this world who will understand you, support you, and hope for you to have a wonderful and fulfilling life that allows you to grow beyond their expectations. And it sounds like you already are that kind of person for yourself, and that is an impressive accomplishment in its own right.

everyone saying that M might be preparing C for his soulmate and all that, yeah probably but like you’ve said they could be together for years before they separated. Seeing how C has gone back to her countless of times and how many times they’ve broken up (times that we don’t even know about) it’s hard to see that C will let her go easily. I think cause it’s so public and he’s gone to the extent of getting engaged, I feel he’ll do anything to make it work so that he won’t get hate from the media. And cause they do seem to be trauma bonded together it’ll also be hard for them to let go of each other. At the premiere of “Life in pink” M said that they needed to break each other down and then build each other up again which honestly doesn’t sound healthy but could be another reason he’d stick with her for a long times, he’s known to think that pain is normal and good (he’s said in many songs that pain is a part of love so I’m guessing to him all this toxicity seems normal). And M has even shown that she does rituals and spells so who knows what kind of blood binding magic spells she has on him so that he won’t leave.
Can I just say that M saying that they have to break each other down to build back up again is the most toxic thing I've ever heard. And I don't know if she truly believes that rhetoric or she is knowingly pushing this agenda.
To break someone down is to keep chipping away at them until there is literally nothing left. That means you are cracking them open to reveal everything that makes them up, like a scientist does DNA. You are purposely pushing their limits to see their triggers and habits just for the sole purpose of knowing them completely. Finding out who someone is and breaking them down are two completely different things, and I think it's hogwash that she believes that in order to get to a good place in their relationship they have to break each other down. I am truly surprised no therapist has come out against that belief once it was said in the documentary.
C is currently in a relationship where he is a puppet and m is the show runner. In other words, he is a pushover while she is the one in control. He is highly dependent on m and there are moments where you can see their dynamic at work.
For example, in c's interview with Lavern cox at the Grammys, m is standing to the side like a proud mom. To a lot of people it came off as cute, but it kind of looked like this to me
He didn't seem confident in himself like all the other interviews I've seen him do before this relationship. It felt rehearsed like he was trying to believe what she told him prior. He said he was cool with the idea of not winning but I'm not so sure I believe that when he's constantly instructing everyone to run up numbers for all of his projects. You either don't care about winning or you do, there is no in between, and I think every fan or EST member can see that he cares about the success of his projects. He's a musician after all and awards are their badge of honor, it's natural for him to want to win.
Now, before y'all come at me, there is always someone who runs the relationship, I don't care how perfect you think a couple is, someone always has more power than the other. There are some couples who alternate that power, but there are those who don't, and c and m haven't since they got together. You can always see that she wears the pants because she is more confident, aware, healed, and has more experience with long term commitments. C on the other hand is more fragile, insecure, anxious and a list of other things that most of us already know. A dynamic like that makes it easy for him to return every.single.time because she is not holding him to a standard that he must come to her healed. She takes him in his brokenness and inserts herself as the healer

The Graveyard of Dropped Shows
So the thought occurs to me that I’ve dropped quite a few anime this season. Turns out, when you don’t pressure yourself to keep up with every show you start out of an obsessive need for cataloguing, it’s a lot easier to say goodbye to shows you don’t like. Who’d have thought? And at this point, I’m far enough into the shows I’m still watching that I’m mostly confident sticking with them to the end. Unless things really take a turn for the worse, but hey, we’ll burn that bridge when we cross to it. For now, I thought I’d just give a quick rundown of all the spring 2023 anime I started watching but gave up on for whatever reason. Cool? Cool. Welcome to the first installment of my graveyard of dropped shows!
Hell’s Paradise: Dropped at 4 episodes
This is probably the most unfair drop on my list. Hell’s Paradise is fine, I guess; as much as I hate the overly bloomed-out lighting Mappa decided to go with, the action’s pretty fun and I’m a sucker for a good Garden of Nightmares setting. It’s a perfectly adequate Shonen Thing that’ll scratch a lot of people’s itches. But man, the older I get, the less patience I have for what I’ve come to call Shonen Gender Bullshit, or SGB for short. And sweet buttery crumpets, this show is full of it. It takes all of one episode for Sagiri to transform from a competent executioner deuteragonist to an inexperienced damsel who exists mainly to be outclassed and taught lessons by the men around her while she stares on in reactive awe. The only other female characters besides her are either evil seductresses who flaunt their bodies for the audience at the first possible opportunity or saintly, far-off idealized wives who exist as goals for Gabimaru to strive for. And in a post-Jujutsu Kaisen world, there is no more excuse for your ridiculous shonen beat-em-up to not treat its ladies with respect.
Konosuba Megumin: Dropped at 2 episodes
Was there a time when I actually liked Konosuba? I’m sure there was, but every new installment in this series just makes it harder and harder to remember why any of us thought this show was anything more than passably amusing at best. And this is a spinoff centered on its best character! If anyone from this cast of losers and misfits had the strength to carry a side story of their own, it was the crimson witch Megumin herself. But absent the incredibly expressive, body-contorting animation that made Konosuba’s comedy work as well as it did, all you’re left with is a boring supporting cast, stupid fanservice, and jokes about guys being creepy perverts who want to molest women. Riveting.
Magical Destroyers: Dropped at 3 episodes
It’s almost impressive how lame Magical Destroyers manages to be. It’s got some of the most unhinged, creative animation this side of mid-2000s Gainax, all the angular momentum and unhinged editing of a lost Hiroyuki Imaishi show. You can tell the series creator started as a graphic designer, because he sure designed the fuck out of these graphics. Unfortunately, you can also tell he’s a graphic designer from the script. Because all that insanely creative animation is paired with some of the dullest, stuffiest, most conservative writing imaginable. If you were hoping for some clever subversion of the “otaku are the most oppressed minority” setup, prepare to be disappointed. This is just brainless wish fulfillment for insecure manchildren who want to feel like badass revolutionaries surrounded by super-sexy, super-powerful warrior women who nevertheless happily submit to some hapless dudebro’s orders. Every single artist involved in this slog deserved to put their talents to better use.
The Marginal Service: Dropped at 1 episode
How do you take a premise like “sexy firefighter super sentai heroes fighting aliens” and make it boring? Well, by slathering it in five layers of faux tryhard grit and grime, making every character the dullest possible archetype version of themself, and drowing the whole affair in a level of xenophobia so uncomfortable I barely made it through a single episode. Cygames just knocked it out of the park with Akiba Maid War, how did they go from that masterpiece to this?
Mashle: Dropped at 2 episodes
This show feels like someone watched One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 and thought “Wow, I should make a show like that!” without fully understanding what makes them so great. Everything is such a surface-level approximation of ONE’s writing talents, from the tired “Wow, this guy is so overpowered!” gags to the reheated “Despite my powers, I just want to live a normal life” motivation. Not to mention its own struggles with the dreaded Shonen Gender Bullshit. But what really killed Mashle for me is very simple: it’s primarily comedy, and it doesn’t make me laugh. Or at least, it doesn’t make me laugh consistently enough to justify sitting through the lackluster animation and cardboard characters. I’ll just watch Mob Psycho again, thank you very much.
My Clueless First Friend: Dropped at 1 episode
Okay, I lied: this is the most unfair drop on my list. As a simple story about a clueless elementary school boy unknowingly helping his classmate deal with bullies, there’s really nothing wrong here. But we have no absence of fantastic rom-coms to keep up busy these days. Just this season alone, My Love Story with Yamada-kun, The Dangers in my Heart, and especially Skip and Loafer have more than enough charm and wholesomeness to fill those needs. And unless you’re really fond of shrill vocal performances (seriously, whoever’s voicing the male lead makes him so irritating to listen to), there’s nothing here you can’t get much better in countless other places. Just Fine, sadly, no longer cuts it in the competitive world of anime rom-coms.

So, Barry and Dawn are off exploring and quantifying data (and also just having fun, because how often do you get told, ‘Yeah, just go as far as you want, you can’t get lost here’ in a different dimension?), and Lucas and Cyrus are left sitting on the edge of the island they arrived on, Lucas with his legs crossed, Cyrus with eevee in his lap and his feet just dangling into the void.
“I assume you have questions for me?”
Lucas startles a bit at this. “What makes you say that?”
Cyrus looks at his, one corner of his mouth twitching up a bit. “Everyone who knew me before has so far. I can even cover the basics for you. I landed on Red’s mountain with my pokemon, some blurry memories of Distortion World, and no idea that it wasn’t my home dimension. I haven’t recovered any other memories of ‘before’ since then, and even psychic pokemon haven’t been able to find traces of them left in my mind. I’ve spent my time relearning how the world functions, how to care for myself and my pokemon, and sign language. I currently work as a trainer in Professor Blue’s gym and as an occasional assistant in his lab; I also do deliveries around town and nearby areas if people ask me to. Giratina is not my pokemon and I’m not their trainer, we’re friends. I like space, figuring out technology works, spending time with my pokemon, and watching Red and Blue be idiots together.
“I don’t want my old memories back. I don’t know what happened between me leaving Distortion World and falling through an Ultra Wormhole. And... I don’t know why I did... everything I did before. I’ve been diagnosed with chronic depression, and I’m getting help with it now, but I don’t know...” he shrugs and shakes his head, “I just don’t know. And I don’t know Galactic Boss Cyrus well enough to guess.” he turns back to Lucas and gives another mouth-twitch smile. “Anyway, that’s the general run-down. If there’s anything else you want to know, go ahead and ask.”
“Why the hat?”
Actual laughter, “That’s your first question?”
“It was a surprise! You’re- you’re Cyrus, and you walk around in public now wearing a yellow cap!”
“One, it’s goldenrod, and two it’s cheerful.” Cyrus huffs, then turns away, a bit embarrassed, “And I thought Red’s looked cool. Just... don’t tell anyone that last bit, Red and Blue tease me enough about it already.” (moderately unhappy expression of soul-rending mortification)
Lucas is amused as heck, but promises his silence. And, even moreso, feels more confident to ask his bigger questions and trust he’ll get honest answers. “Why don’t you want your memories back?”
“...fear, mostly,” Cyrus admits after a short hesitation, “If I got them back, I don’t know how much I’d still be me anymore - me as I am now, I mean. What if having them made me want to go back to what I was doing before I can remember? Even if it would mean I’d have all the technical knowledge people say I had back, I don’t want to risk that. I don’t want to risk anyone getting hurt because of me again. And... this one’s more selfish, but he sounds like he was a really miserable bastard, and I don’t want to go back to that. I like my life as it is and I want to keep it. I don’t want to go back to being so miserably unhappy that I’d rather not feel anything at all than keep enduring it.”
Lucas processes this for awhile, during which Cyrus fusses with eevee’s fur and weavile pops out of its pokeball of its own accord to make sure Cyrus is doing okay then sit next to him. After he’s thought about it enough, Lucas decides to bring out his other big question. “Do you still think the human spirit is flawed?”
Now it’s Cyrus’s turn to think before responding, “...probably.”
Which is not the answer Lucas was either expecting or hoping for, but before he can start worry, Cyrus continues.
“But it would have to be, wouldn’t it? To get a perfect world full of perfect things, you’d need to have a perfect being made it. And, from what I understand even Arceus is capable of making mistakes. So I guess it wouldn’t be that surprising, to think that we’re inherently imperfect, as we were made by an imperfect being. Maybe that’s why pokemon and other people are so important - they give us the opportunity to see our flaws and refine ourselves.”
Ah, right. While he has amnesia, Cyrus is still Very Smart. But... “Why do you think Arceus makes mistakes?”
“If they didn’t, they wouldn’t have needed to reconcile with Giratina a few months back.”
“I’m sorry, what?!”
“You can blame Akari for that one,” Cyrus says, even more seriously than usual, and with a little dash of trauma lurking in the back of his eyes, “Giratina’s my friend, but do you have any idea what it’s like to watch a pair of gods sort out millennia-old family issues a few dozen feet away from you?! It was terrifying! And I think the only reason I didn’t get smote by Arceus at the end of it is because Giratina likes me!”
“That scary?” Lucas asks, part joking, part serious.
Cyrus nods vigorously, “The scariest moment in my life!” (pauses, considers) “Which I technically only have a couple years of memories for, but I doubt that anything’s likely to top it.”
“That’s fair.” Silence descends again, but Lucas is feeling more comfortable with it this time.

I’m 5’3 with a hourglass build but I’m always a little self conscious about my chest bc it seems to draw a lot of attention, sometimes unwanted. Other than that, I’m pretty confident though most would say I’m pretty quiet unless I’m totally warmed up to someone. I tend to be very stubborn and sometimes say mean things when I’m angry, but I always try to keep a cool head as much as I can. I have auburn hair and really dark eyes. Freckles and dimples that everyone seems to love when they notice. It usually surprises people bc I have really bad resting bitch face 😭. Pietro Maxomoff (x-men: evolution) Preference head canons
This albino speedster was such a little shit and I love it to this day
i’m gonna have a rant about my head cannons of his sexuality just cuz
Let me start this by stating that this boy has a weird relationship with his sexuality
Pietro is pan romantic meaning that he can have romantic feelings towards anyone despite gender
But he is bisexual in the sense that he has sexual feelings for anyone but he has a preference towards feminine people despite gender (this may have a different name if so feel free to correct me)
He drastically plays up his attraction to girls and death grips the concept of “really close bros” as he is terrified of being attracted to guys because of internalized homophobia.
I also think Pietro has issues with intimacy due to the gap in his romantic and sexual preferences
He will date bitchy bimbo girls, (the relationship being more like a series of hookups) and then leave because he wasn't romantically attracted to them
- And he will have really close platonic relationships with guys he likes that are very intimate but never become anything more, leaving him feeling empty and lonely.
Pietro would likely find the best long term partner in a less gender conforming person
Whether it be a fem guy, a masc girl or someone outside the binary

But he won't boss you around
If he does get insecure then he may be more pushy about rules and not necessarily explain why because he doesn't want to admit he is less then the over confident bad boy persona he puts on
It may take time to adjust to or even understand his resonating but as your relationship progresses he’ll have a big blow up moment and cry and the after that his outbursts will seem more endearing with the context
It will be less serious and more playful
he is cool if your not a troublemaker like he is but if you try and stop him or try to separate him from his group he will get upset
He wants you to hang out with him and even if your not participating it still means a lot for you to be there spending time with him
He enjoys seeing you interact with his friends and wants you all to get along
Pietro also loves pda
He is almost always touching you when your together
Whether his arm is on your shoulder
Holding your hand or holding you
He just loves being close you
It also allows him to non verbally communicate that your taken so he considers that a win

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 187 - The Battle Junkie Collision
“One of those chapters that remind you why Gege is so awesome..”
Legitimately I am always floored when Gege decides to go all in on a fight and not because of the typical “meathead” - for lack of better term- reasoning. This chapter was Gege showing off his ability to complicate his power system , within the battle without it feeling a forced moment of complexity to the power scaling (i.e Kashimo’s cursed energy having electrical properties). Don’t get me wrong, I hate power scaling - with a burning passion, like Jogo’s meteor burning.
However, this is a battle shonen and a top tier battle shonen will always have power scaling at its core. The very fundamental of it derives from a character (usually) trying to attain a goal that requires them be powerful, the strongest even. Jujutsu Kaisen is no exception- if anything it is an example of how the power scaling leads to such intriguing discussion, which sometimes cannot be fully explored without involving (accurate) lore; void of headcanon or bias. I say all that to say that the culling game has taken jujutsu kaisen to the core of this concept, making the fights we see become a form of character development, (the real meaning of development, as in learning about a character and how they tick - not character growth which is the evolution of a character’s mental disposition, actions etc) - while also entertaining the reader, even causing some to miss those little details that make jjk characters so good, but more on that in later sections.
Basically this chapter, without a doubt was one of those chapters that remind you why gege is so awesome, the sheer amount of raw action with meaningful nuance fuels this manga. The narration that Kashimo received the information for Hakari’s domain faster than he could activate Hollow Wicker basket, as well as the information that his activation is even faster than Mahito’s in Shibuya - it puts a lot of things into perspective. First - the fact that this version of simple domain was confirmed to be able to be used by Reggie and Kashimo has me wondering what exactly caused the creation of simple domain. Since Hollow Wicker Basket is a prototype or original form of simple domain, it really makes me want to see how Simple Domain’s founder (forgot his name too lazy to look up) created it and why he felt it had to be kept within his own clan.
See? I’m talking about an entirely different lore piece and that all came from Gege simply adding that narration - and not to mention the confirmation of Hakari’s activation speed.. absolutely insane on top of his other buffs.. I get why Yuta said what he said!
“To Kill an Immortal is to be...”
I love Kashimo for the simple fact that he reminds me of a story about a man who wants to become God. It sounds like I’m making a Black Star reference now that I think about it, but really thats the exact vibe I get from Kashimo. He’s talented, ruthless and clearly gifted with his cursed energy property - however what really grips me about Kashimo is his ruthless fighting style combined with his confidence. He's a scary guy, in a way that I think even Gojo would appreciate (even though he’d get obliterated by Gojo and would do so happily). I think thats what makes post gojo sealing such a phenomenal “era” for this manga, it makes characters like Kashimo feel more like a threat because we know Gojo can’t just come and show him up or guide the students to win.
It was perfect to use Charles as a means to introduce Hakari’s technique/domain then transitioning to the action packed fight - skipping out on the needed explanation for a complex ability like Hakari’s. Its really fucking cool how Gege does that so seamlessly.. I know some people hate to hear it but Gege really took Togashi’s writing style and ran with it. I love it though, he gave it his own modern and more meathead spin while keeping the core of the writing there and thats impressive.
Back to Kashimo, he really was a warrior in his day and we didn’t need to see the scene at the end of the chapter to know that. The fact he is completely unphased by this powered up Hakari is WILD. He is going toe to toe with him no problem, and in my opinion has the upper hand. The only thing (it looks like) Hakari has going for him is the immortality - but apparently that doesn't mean anything to our lightning man cause he wants to kill an immortal. To me, to kill an immortal is to be a God, thats why I get the vibe that Kashimo is really chasing God-hood. Do I mean that in a literal sense.. sure(?), but really I mean it in the spiritual sense. We know that back in the day jujutsu sorcerers were a lot more connected to the spiritual aspects of cursed energy. Just the idea of them accepting their souls being brought back hundreds of years later requires a level of spiritual awareness that I think modern sorcerers lack a bit - but to me that means Kashimo is fighting so hard because is in his spirit, he has the soul of a warrior so he consistently stayed in battle, always fighting until his body couldn’t keep up anymore. I’m head canon ranting I know, but seeing old man Kashimo really honed in to me that these sorcerers who come back are (probably) chasing after a spiritual fulfillment. I may do a different Meta on that entirely but to me Kashimo is chasing Godhood, as Ryu was chasing “fulfillment “ and Uro chasing “Recognition”. Not to mention chasing after the “King of Curses” to fight and prove who is stronger just sounds like a story out of a folk tale or mythological story of a man chasing “God”. Could be just me though-
The only thing that can confirm my head canon would be more insight on Kashimo as he is fighting Hakari, or a small flashback at the end of the battle, maybe even both. I will say, I am nervous for Hakari a bit!! (but then again not really).
“Hakari is a violent manga fan..”
All of Gojo’s students are crazy. Inumkai might be the only sane one. Maki committed genocide (in self defense, thats important), Panda is a comical Panda with multiple souls, Yuji is Yuji (need we say more?), Megumi is a psycho- the best kind of psycho, Yuta is a psychotic romantic, and Hakari is a violent manga-head. I love every single one of them and I just need one arc with them all together under Gojo.. please Gege.. I'm begging.. pleading.. I’ll pay--!!!
I mean really though, Hakari’s whole approach to fighting being based around using his luck in a skillful manner, then getting on a jackpot roll then becoming immortal while a song plays for 4 minutes and 11 seconds is hilarious. However, what it is more than hilarious is intriguing. One thing I feel like I haven’t seen anyone talk about is the core to jujutsu kaisen and thats the soul, body and cursed techniques. That has been the key things that have kept this series so interesting and adding twists and turns to what we know about the world. What I mean by saying this is that I feel like people haven’t discussed how insane it is that Hakari’s technique is a romcom manga that exists in real life combined with a pachinko game. His technique revolves around his domain activation just like Higaruma (also, notice how gege introduced the concept of rule-type domain expansions, then introduces higaruma, then shows us hakari’s domain - a character who could do it before the culling game unlike higaruma) and as explained with Higaruma he learned the concept of domain expansion and how it works due to his technique. It wouldn’t be far fetched to assume Hakari was the same!
Lets take it one step further - we know that Higaruma’s technique revolved around the motif of a suspect, judge, lawyer and executioner. This was obviously to play on his personality and occupation as a lawyer so what does it say about Hakari whose domain is a pachinko game using a romance manga as the motif? I’ll let you come up with your own personal conclusions on that but I will say, to me it makes him fucking awesome. He’s a cultured dude bro. Hakari is a warrior, he loves battle but also he’s a softy for love and romance to a large enough degree that its engrained in his body & soul, and I say that because of what Mahito and Kenjaku showed us about the body, soul and cursed techniques. Hakari is really special.. he’s a gambling addicted manga fan who likes violence at his core. I love him and seeing him confidently go at Kashimo gave me CHILLS. I hope he shows out in the next chapter , but who knows how long Gege wants this fight to last. I do hope we get to see a lot more of the action break down in the paneling like we did for this chapter, it was really cool and seeing the shirtless Hakari panel breaks were the best part. Dude is just Todo x5.
“Kenny is the cockiest bastard..”
I aspire to be the level of confident Kenjaku is. I mean truly Kenny is the cockiest bastard on earth, I think he rivals Sukuna in that regard honestly. Having the confidence to jump multiple eras and change bodies, tap into different souls and personalities, Kenjaku really is doing his absolute to accomplish his goal. He casually approached Kashimo who had just finished slaughtering people, and calmly shrugs off a taunt from Kashimo. He really is confident in himself, what if Kashimo just attacked? Kenjaku claimed the body he had wasn’t built for fighting, so what does that mean?? He is clearly a powerful barrier user, so why pick a body he couldn’t utilize his strength? A lot of questions I have for him and his motives.
What also stood out to me is the similarity with all the people Kenjaku has taken over. I might be over analyzing (per usual) but hasn't all of Kenjaku’s bodies shared the same features? Aside from just the black hair, its something about all of them that seem very very similar, kind of like victimology in profiling. What is it about the victims that caused the suspect to attack them? I feel like there is a profile to be dissected through Kenjaku’s choices for hosts as well has his movements throughout the series - can you tell I been binging Criminal Minds? Seriously though, Kenjaku seems to be showing his true nature through the scenes Gege has been choosing to show us since Shibuya ended, and I love every second of it. Give me more Gege, expose the crevices of Kenny’s mind bit by bit until his real backstory comes to life.
Random thought i had while typing - since Kenjaku has been around so long its like he is the direct foil to Tengen who was hiding and living “immortal” while Kenjaku was on the other side of the fence living for years “immortal” by jumping bodies and searching for his “truth” - the “potential” of cursed energy. Kenjaku is for sure a very very interesting character and I can’t wait to see more.
“A true Jujutsu Sorcerer ..”
I just want to point out that Kenjaku said Ryu had the most output of cursed energy during Kashimo’s era and we just seen Yuta take him head on.. with two other enemies at once and defeating someone they couldn't beat prior.. he’s a menace. A true jujutsu sorcerer.. and so is Kashimo, but maybe even more so because he has no care for others, only what he is interested in. He only cares about getting stronger and facing off against the strongest - im assuming because he simply loves the thrill of battle. This to me exemplifies what Uro was talking about to Yuta in regards to the strongest sorcerers being like calamities. That was what Uro witnessed, and Kashimo fits that perfectly. And honestly.. so does Hakari! Thats what makes this such an amazing match up because we are seeing true jujutsu sorcery! These battle junkies are going all out to wipe each other out and its that wild battle style that makes jujutsu Kaisen my favorite battle manga to follow fight wise (aside from hxh),
We’ll see how this battle unfolds but no matter what happens you can tell it will take both them to go all out and have no regrets to come out on top!

Letters from Baji Keisuke Chapter 15 Eng Translation “Nowhere”
I know a lot of people are still waiting for the English scans from Sena who does an amazing job (and shouldn’t be rushed) but since ch 16 drops on March 6th and there’s been no news of when to expect the English scans I figured I’d do a translation of the Spanish scans for anyone that can’t read Spanish, especially since ch 15 is one of the best chapters so far!
Please keep a few things in mind though:
1. I’m not a professional translator. While I’m confident in my ability to understand Spanish and translate to English, there are certain nuances that are difficult to translate directly without language sounding awkward. I will try my best to make decisions based on accuracy and readability and address my choices in notes designated with a *.
2. I do not have access to the Japanese raws of ch 15 (if anyone does please share where you found them). My translation is coming directly from the Spanish scans. Therefore, I can’t guarantee that there are no mistakes in the translations or that certain nuances from the original Japanese text have not been lost. Please take this as more of a general translation until the English scans are released.
3. Please go thank Yakisoba scans on fb for their hard work in releasing these Spanish scans. They deserve all the praise and once the English scans are available I’ll take this post down or update it with the link to the English chapter instead. I’m only doing this for any English speaking fans that don’t have access to fb or don’t understand Spanish.

I rarely go on Twitter these days but popping in and seeing yet again more bullying towards the same person for the same shit is really upsetting and I’m just an observer. Bullying is not cute I feel like I’m 13 again when I read shit like that.
Seeing a good omens fan get bullied AGAIN for a ship OTHER people decided is father/child despite them being literally the same age as well as OPENLY hating on their art style by REPOSTING their art. But the fan is the weird one bc they like The Bad Ship that everyone else has decided is a family dynamic. Not the people who continue to harass and look at their art and point and laugh On Their Public Accounts. “They’re weird and should stop” says the person going out of their fucking way to talk about them.
Like the true and honest disconnect of calling someone weird as if that’s a criminal offense, because they like a ship you don’t. And it’s NORMAL to proudly and confidently say how much you Hate them and how they draw and how it’s fine to say all this because their fictional ship of two angels is Weird.
I’ve seen ships that would make you explode. Bullying is not normal. It’s not Justified because you don’t Like something. It’s not even an, and I hate this fucking term, an “illegal ship”. The only problem is your personal dislike of it and the fact that you’re just shitting on someone who is popular. That’s it. If this person had 78 followers you’d just block and move on. It always comes down to popularity or lies.
And it’s so fucking sad seen 16, 17, 18, 19 year olds bullying other young people like it’s a fucking trend or cool thing to do. There’s 15 people max in this fucking show and you’re going out of your way to be a jackass to a person you could just block. YOU are talking about them when you don’t have to. You’re reposting art and bringing them up and being so happy to Finally hate on them in the open bc “they’re weird so it’s fine”
It’s shitty. It’s stupid and childish but also just genuinely shitty and mean spirited. All the talk about keeping fandom safe and pole are out here HAPPILY bullying people their age or younger for a fucking fictional ship that doesn’t even meet any of the Evil Ship criteria. Shit like this is why I hesitate so much in trying to talk to people or make friends. Bullying is not boundaries and how you treat people who aren’t even doing anything says way more about you than them.

I posted yesterday about the newly released archive of Daniel Kitson on the radio, which I am still very excited about. I was looking forward to that going up because I wanted to see it myself, of course, but I also thought there could be a chance that it would lead to getting access to further episodes, and that has already worked. I have several new ones, I have been listening to them all day, and it has made this day absolutely fucking delightful. Honestly I think I’d forgotten just how much fun they are.
Remember a few months ago, when I first listened to these and said I know no one else has heard these things or even could hear them so it’s a completely pointless post, but I am enjoying them so much that I’m just going to write the things I think about them and post them anyway? Well I’m doing that again. Notes as I listen to new episodes, that will at some point be on a website where other people can hear them too so that’s pretty cool.
- The first one is an episode Daniel Kitson did by himself at Resonance FM, in October 2006. At the very beginning, he joked that it would be funny to pretend the song he’d played was by Pat Benatar, and then he committed to the bit for the entire three hours. Which would fine, I mean it got a bit old but that’s sort of the point, labouring it past when it was funny anymore was in itself a bit funny. It would have been fine, if I were not listening to it and knowing that soon, I’m going to go back through this episode again, cut out the songs to make the edited version, and keep track of the songs in a document to make the tracklist. That is going to be really annoying to do when Daniel Kitson did not announce any of the actual artists’ names, and instead attributed every single song to Pat Benetar.
Yeah, good bit, Daniel. This is a really good bit. You should definitely keep this up for three hours. Don’t drop it or anything. Just keep doing that, in case seventeen years from now someone in Canada is trying to catalogue you and you want to make her life difficult. You have to stay vigilant.
- I’ve written before about the saga of Daniel Kitson annoying me by playing Lovers in a Dangerous Time by Barenaked Ladies while not acknowledging that it’s a pretty good cover of an incredibly good Bruce Cockburn song, taking a flagship song of a Canadian folk legend and making it just a good pop rock song. He played it once in 2006 and once in 2018, and I couldn’t tell whether he knew it was a cover and chose not to mention that, or whether he didn’t know at all, and I couldn’t decide which would bother me more. Though he finally played the original in his latest run, in January 2023, where he made several jokes about the first syllable of Bruce Cockburn’s name that suggest this was a name he’d learned recently, so I’m pretty sure he previously did believe it to be a Barenaked Ladies song.
Well, he played it again in one of these new episodes. Prefaced it with: “I’m going to play a Barenaked Ladies song. It’s called Lovers in a Dangerous Time, and I think it’s great,” which is the wrong way to preface a song that should be described as “Here is a pop rock band being competent with a song that is meant to be far and away better than just competent.”
This happened in an episode in which Gavin Osborn was a guest, and I hoped he’d correct the record when Kitson called it “a Barenaked Ladies song”, but unfortunately he’d gone out to get Subway at the time. I feel fairly confident that he’d have corrected that if he’d been there; it seems like the sort of thing he’d know. I think I assume Gavin Osborn knows every single thing that I would respect someone for knowing. I’m pretty sure I have agreed with everything I’ve ever heard Gavin Osborn say, and everything about him leaves me with the impression that if I could somehow hear a reel of every single thing he’s ever said in his whole life, I’d probably agree with every word of it. I just have a feeling that Gavin Osborn has maybe never been wrong about anything ever.
- So, in 2007, Daniel Kitson and Gavin Osborn wrote this show called The Ballad of Roger and Grace. I think they actually wrote it in late 2006, but didn’t start performing it until 2007. They did it at their big Regent’s Park thing together in June 2007, and at some point during the year, they went into a studio where they recorded a version of it that’s on Bandcamp. It was two intertwined stories, one told through Gavin Osborn’s songs and one told through Daniel Kitson’s stories. It’s really lovely to listen to. The first song in that show is called Charlie’s 18th Birthday, which is also on the album that Gavin Osborn released later in 2007.
This radio episode is from January 2007, so clearly when they were already working on the show but before they’d put it out into the world. During the radio episode, Gavin Osborn played the song Charlie’s 18th Birthday. And Kitson kept making jokes about how he’d never heard the song before, this was the first time Gavin had ever played it outside of his own living room, this was all new to them. They told a whole elaborate story about how it was a song about Gavin’s friend Charlie, which I’m quite sure wasn’t true, and it was just their way of entertaining themselves by pretending the song was one thing instead of what it really was, which was part of this show they were writing together. But given that they hadn’t started playing that show publicly yet and they never explained themselves on the radio, there was no way for the listeners to get that joke. Gavin was at least somewhat subtle about it, but Kitson kept stopping to giggle during this ruse and sounding way too excited about it, even though they knew none of this would make sense to anyone except each other. I’m not quite sure what the thinking was behind an elaborate joke that no one would get, but whatever they were doing, it was rather adorable.
- At one point, Daniel Kitson said “This song is for Andy Zaltzman” before putting something on. There was no context that made that make more sense; he had not previously mentioned Andy Zaltzman in that episode. My first thought was: “Andy Zaltzman doesn’t like music, what are you talking about?” My second thought was: “Oh God, it’s going to be a joke about him being Jewish, isn’t it?” It says something about what Daniel Kitson circa-2007 was like that I immediately assumed the joke he was going for was putting on something offensive and dedicating it to his Jewish friend. That probably isn’t ideal.
It wasn’t, people will be pleased to know. He was going for Here Comes My Baby by Cat Stevens, because Andy Zaltzman had just had his first child. It was fine.
- Daniel Kitson took some trouble to carefully read out the entire URL for Gavin Osborn’s MySpace page, not as a joke, but because that was genuinely the way to promote someone’s music. Welcome to 2007, everyone.
- Gavin sang a few songs I knew, and one song that is definitely not on any of his albums, because I have all his albums and hadn’t heard that one before, and it was beautiful. This is not the first time I’ve heard Gavin Osborn sing a song that he’s never put on an album, and it’s been really good. I don’t know why he has so many really good songs that he just doesn’t publish.
- I already had a Triple R Graveyard episode featuring David O’Doherty and Claudia O’Doherty (same last name is a coincidence, they are not related or married, but they were a couple for a while, in accordance with what seems to be a legal mandate that every comedian in Britain/Britain-adjacent islands at some point dates a comedian from Australia/Australia-adjacent islands, so it definitely seems worth clarifying that they’re not related) from the Melbourne Festival in 2008. I now have two more episodes of that same thing, with that same lineup, from the 2007 festival. Which is fucking excellent, because that one from 2008 is one of the most purely entertaining things I’ve heard. I am extremely pleased to have more of it. I’m actually writing this before listening to them, I’m going to get into the Triple R stuff now. I’m so looking forward to this.
Oh, and Andy Zaltzman. Did I mention that one of the other new episodes I haven’t heard yet features Andy Zaltzman? The Kitson/Zaltzman pairing is a rare one but so fucking entertaining, every time I’ve heard them together they sound like they have no idea how to talk to each other, I cannot wait to hear them do that for four hours in the middle of the night with no one else in the room.

As a cis guy, I’ve been considering going on estrogen and HRT.
Cis, in this case, being that I was born male, identified as a boy in my youth, still do identify as a man and use He/Him pronouns, and have no desire to stop if/when I do start on HRT. I probably wouldn’t still label myself as cis at that point, but until then I am just a guy.
I’ve been generally genderqueer and non-conforming, at least as far as I could be in the church I was raised in. Pink ties and long hair and occasional painted nails was closer to blasphemy than not half the time, but I was lucky enough to have a mother and sisters that had fun playing dress up with me so long as I didn’t actually wear a skirt to church.
Now I’m out of that church and in a world and a city where trans and genderqueer people are common, where my colorful socks are standard, where I don’t have to be limited to shoulder-length hair or even skirts. I can genuinely do whatever I want now.
And I’m thinking about HRT.
I’m not a girl, or at least not exclusively. Maybe genderfluid, maybe something else. I don’t feel dysphoria about presenting as a guy, and I’ve always enjoyed being seen as having positive male qualities. But I also think I would enjoy being seen as a girl, more often that I am now.
And under it all, it I had to give myself a specific label or gender based on how I feel inside, (at least compared to how I hear other people talk about it) I’d probably go with agender, or genderless.
I think, if gender is a construct and a performance, then it’s one I enjoy being an actor in, but for others more than myself. At home, I don’t feel any urge to wear anything particularly defining, and I don’t really want to transition in any way just for my own sake. Almost entirely, it would be so I could go out in public presented one way or another, meet people, make friends, flirt, play the part I’ve chosen for the day.
I’m thinking about HRT, so I can more easily do both. I want to be closer to androgynous, not so I can avoid the gender binary but so I can more easily play either part.
And, most importantly, so I can be a little weird about it.
I want to push some of the norms and expectations of those around me, have interesting conversations. I want to follow the rules of being either a guy or a girl so I can more easily break them in interesting ways.
Sometimes, I’d like to just be a girl in the eyes of others, body shaved, makeup on, outfit casual and normal, chill, friendly. Sometimes I’d like to be a little more sexy, loud, silly.
Sometimes I’d like to be a guy, tall and confident and cool and kind, or maybe with ripped jeans and funky clothes and hair styled all over.
I want to go outside as someone else, see how people react to it, and play into it, play around with it. I don’t know what my coworkers will think if I grow boobs but never tell them to call me different pronouns, and it makes me nervous, but also interests me.
I’m just worried, mostly, that I won’t be able to keep up with the image in my head. It’ll be a lot of work, and I’m not sure if some of the side effects will be worth what I’m trying to achieve, especially when I have other priorities, art and writing as well. As well as if I choose to bind fairly often, that won’t be good for my ribs long term.
I’ve got an appointment tomorrow to go in and talk about it and possibly get started on hormones, if I choose to. I’m excited, and nervous, and not sure what I’m going to do.
