so i watched the School for Good and Evil, and i just. there's just one. really big issue i've seen, other than the acting (which. Yikes.)
The rule for Good, is that they can only defend, they cannot attack or the sides switch and good becomes evil and evil becomes good an everything kind of falls apart, which is what happens later, Good side attacks innocent Evil side (prompted, but still not excusable) and they become the visage of evil while the Evil side switch to the image of Good.
BUT...
the Good Prince already attacked and killed something before all that went down, and nothing bad happened to him, other than getting decked for it.
He killed the big bone bird. He killed Gregor. He wasnt actually defending anyone either, because Gregor never posed any threat to anyone, he was trying to be seen, he was trying to show them that he was there, that he needed help, he was asking for help and he was killed for it.
yeah, he thought he was saving her, but that doesnt matter, he wasn't, he jumped to conclusions and attacked something that wasnt attacking anyone, therefore he couldnt have been defending anyone.
zuko's character design in netflix atla is sooooo lazy.
he still has both eyebrows & his ear is unsinged. there's no scar makeup over the burnt eye changing the face/eye shape & it's basically just a big bruise done with eyeshadow paint.
it's one of the big reasons i just can't see the character in the live action, because it flat out ignores the design of the og animation & straight up doesnt resemble him
also it's really annoying the one character w facial disfigurement who is universally loved (instead of being used as a symbol of permanent moral villainy and ugliness i.e. Bond Villain Cinema Syndrome) basically had his disfigurement taken away in live action
hate when you find a character whose so infuriatingly Your Type that its embarrassing like yeahg no one is gonna be surprised when i announce this is my new Guy Of The Month
people are calling what happened today in gaza “the flour massacre”
the flour massacre
these people just wanted to get food for their families, something as basic as flour, one of the things that the very core of humanity is built on, and israel used it as a trap to murder them in cold blood
evil is not enough of a word. there is not a word to describe what they are doing to palestine. they are bleeding her out, they are torturing her and crushing her and hoping that nothing is left to remember her by when they are done. how can anyone stand and watch what is being done with indifference? how can you watch this level of human suffering, this crime against life and feel nothing, do nothing
JUST SAW A FED-EX DRIVER JUMP OUR OF HIS TRUCK AT A REDLIGHT AND RUN UP TO A SECOND FED-EX TRUCK (THREE CARS AHEAD) AND THE GUY LEANED OUT AND THEY JUST KISSED ON THE LIPS? HELLO?
i say i like tragedies and everyone’s all like ‘why do you like sad stories? are you depressed?’ and never ‘how was the catharsis? was the catharsis fun?’
every single time israel fires on people picking up food or humanitarian aid it truly cuts me to the core. obviously it's equally horrible to fire on civilians escaping the invasion or to bomb hospitals or refugee camps or people just living in their own homes. but there's something so brutal about hitting people right when they have gathered for life-saving aid. by firing on them there the IOF have set up an impossible dilemma where starving people have to choose between death by bullet or death by hunger. they have left no room for palestinians to choose life. i do not know how my government or any other government can just sit by and watch while innocent people continue to be gunned down for the crime of existing in israel's eyeline.
