Steve and Gareth as cousins warm up, part two!

Reminder: Someone on Twitter proposed Steve and Gareth as cousins whose family had a major falling out, and then someone else brought it up recently and long story short no idea who to credit the idea too bc you can’t search for SHIT on Twitter but it's theirs not mine.

Warnings: Steve and Robin Get (canon-S3) Drugged. 

"I'm just saying the other theater is cheaper." Eddie said around the straw jammed in his mouth. 

He carried the largest bucket of popcorn Starcourt’s movie theater offered, alongside the two boxes of candy he'd also demanded Gareth buy him. 

"Easier to sneak into, you mean." Gareth corrected, with his significantly smaller bag of popcorn. His, he planned to share with Jeff, Grant having snuck in his own food. 

Gareth himself would have snuck in the cheaper (and far larger) snacks, but Eddie had thrown a fit about going to the mall to see a new movie instead of Hawkin’s far older theater. 

Of course, the older theater also had several disadvantages, key of which was terrible seating, and so, Gareth had bribed him with whatever treats he wanted. 

His wallet took a hit but fuck it, at least they got to actually see the screen. 

Not that they even made it into the fucking theater, because someone chose that moment to crash into Eddie. 

Popcorn kernels and soda flew everywhere, with Eddie only avoiding it landing on him and Gareth both by years of dealing with this exact bullshit in school. Of course, the mall wasn’t school, and neither of them had their guard up. 

"What the hell man--" Eddie spat, immediately on the defense, as they both turned to see what jackass wanted to cause problems this time. 

Except Gareth had recognized the person who bumped him. 

"Steve?" Gareth asked, causing  his cousin to totter around and face him. He was in his Scoops Ahoy uniform, which remained to be absolutely ridiculous, but that hadn't been what had drawn Gareth's attention. 

No, that would be the absolute wrecked face staring at him with a doped up grin. 

All thoughts of the movie immediately faded away. 

"What happened to your face!?" Gareth demanded, immediately stepping up into his cousin's space, eyes darting over the damage. 

Recent black eye, split lip, blood splatter all down one side of his neck, nevermind his clothes… 

"Robs!" Steve called over his shoulder instead of answering, body moving as if he was walking on a wildly rocking boat and not solid ground. "Come 'ere!" 

He beamed, which had the horrific effect of resplitting his lips. "Meet Gareth, my baby cousin!" 

"I am two years younger than you." Gareth argued on automatic. He didn’t look to see how Eddie took this little piece of info--he’d figure out what he’d say later, when Steve wasn’t covered in blood. 

It did not stop Robin from reaching out to pinch his cheeks. 

She too, Gareth realized, was clearly high on something, both of them giggling and weaving on their feet. 

At least Robin didn’t appear to be hurt--or at least, not hurt as badly as Steve. 

"What the hell did you two take?" Gareth demanded, looking between them as he quickly put his popcorn back off to the side. 

"We didn't take anything, dad." Steve said bossily, rolling his eyes. He spoke in a voice so unlike himself that Gareth knew his own face was doing something crazy. 

Not that he could stop it because what the hell. 

"What my patriotic friend here means is that we don't know." Robin added, smacking a hand onto Steve’s shoulder. 

(The entire sentence was slurred and sounded like she'd shoved candy in her mouth before she started talking.) 

"You don't know?!” Gareth asked, taking in the way Steve flinched when Robin touched him. Added a mental note to check his cousin's shoulder too. “How do you not know?" 

Gareth wasn't panicking, he wasn't, except he absolutely fucking was. Steve's dad was going to kill him, disown him, and throw the body out of his house--in that exact order. 

Gareth’s parents wouldn’t take him in, not unless his mom felt she could use it to one up her sister in some way which meant that Gareth was going to have to sneak Steve in and out of the house like he was some--some puppy Gareth was trying to keep and--

"Did someone give you two something?" Eddie asked, interrupting Gareth’s spiraling. 

"Give is a very strong word." Steve said with a snicker. 

Robin nodded so much she looked like a bobble head. She leaned in, nearly falling into Gareth in the process. “In fact it’s not the word I’d use at all! I’d use…” She trailed off, screwing her eyes up in thought. 

“Made us?” Steve suggested as Gareth finally gave in to his instincts and reached out to steady his cousin. “Forced us?” 

“Socked it to us!” Robin added with a weird amount of glee, and the two of them once again collapsed into giggles.

Literally, forcing Gareth to try and steady them both. 

Which meant Eddie was right--they’d been drugged. It made perfect sense-- Steve wasn’t the kind to experiment with drugs beyond weed. Had in fact, given a very long lecture about how he’d make Gareth go on runs with him if he ever found out Eddie had given him anything stronger than weed. 

There was no way he’d change now, and especially not around a jobsite. Particularly one as busy as the mall. 

"You can't tell anybody." Robin continued, eyes so wide they were more white than pupils. "But we got truth serumed!" 

As if that made any fucking sense. 

Gareth turned a half frantic, half disbelieving look to Eddie--whose own face scared him almost as badly as Steve's did. 

He was hiding it, and doing a good job of doing so, but Eddie was the one person Gareth knew better than Steve. 

Right now? Eddie Munson was furious. 

Not mad, or upset, or even as pissed as he had been the time Tommy Hagan had thrown his drug box in the river. 

He was enraged. 

"Hey." He said, and the only thing more shocking than realizing Eddie was this mad was hearing him talk in a calming, almost playful voice. "Sounds like you two sailors had a pretty rough time. Why don't we go to the bathroom and get you both cleaned up? I bet you'll feel a little better." 

It was clearly the right move, because both of them looked downright delighted. 

"He thinks we're sailors!" Steve said, cupping a hand around his mouth and leaning to talk in Robin’s ear as if he was whispering. (He wasn’t.) 

Robin’s grin grew impossibly wider, before Eddie stepped forward to help Gareth half guide half herd the two into the nearest bathroom. 

"I know you." Robin said, squinting dramatically as Eddie opened the door with his regular flair, bellowing for anyone in the place to get out. 

It was Steve's turn to nod enthusiastically. "That's Eddie, Robbie." He said.

"I'm honored King Steve knows such a humble peasant's name." Eddie bowed as Gareth finally got both Steve and Robin into the bathroom, trying to get them to sit on the floor before they fell on their asses. 

Which just made a hurt expression appear on Steve's face. "’Course I do. You have really pretty hair." 

It had the effect of making Eddie look like he’d been punched and Gareth had to quickly turn his bark of laughter into a cough. 

"I bet it's soft.” Steve continued, as he pressed his back against the tiled wall and slowly slid down to the floor. “Gare, is it soft?" 

"It's very soft." Gareth agreed, trying to wet a paper towel with shaking hands. Finally he gave up entirely, ripping the plaid sweater he had tied around his waist and shoving one of the sleeves into the sink. 

“Oh my god.” Robin said abruptly, sitting up from her own slouched spot on the floor as if she’d suddenly been stricken sober. “It’s him! He’s your type!” 

“What’s my type?” Steve turned to her, as Eddie leaned his back against the door to the bathroom, blocking anyone else from entering. 

“It’s like--like Nancy! But boy Nancy.” Robin seemed to think this made a ton of sense, and given Steve’s immediate groan maybe it did to him, but Gareth was too freaked out to even begin to process what the hell they were on about.

Probably nothing, given they’d been drugged. 

Eddie seemed to pick up on his general anxiety and poor attempts at shoving down his own freakout, because he gently called out Gareth’s name. 

“I think it’s wet enough.” He added with a raised eyebrow. His eyes drifted purposefully to the sink and with a curse, Gareth snapped shut the water off. 

His hands were still shaking. 

“Give it to me.” Eddie said gently, moving to take the shirt from Gareth’s hands. “Here, swap me Gare, and guard the door.” 

Gareth did, as Eddie knelt down to take Steve’s chin in one hand, and carefully began dapping his wounded face with the wet sleeve. 

“May I ask what battles you two sailors have been involved in?” He said, continuing to sound like playful, fun Eddie and not like he was about to murder half the town (which, Gareth could tell by body language alone, is what Eddie actually felt like) “Did you happen to catch a glimpse of the villains who did this?"

“Robin melted into Steve, rubbing her face in his shoulder. “You wouldn’t believe us.” 

Eddie smiled his most charming smile, a full blown rouge grin he played up as he continued to wipe and dab at Steve’s wounds. “You’d be surprised at what I believe in, my fair lady.” 

Steve tried to talk, but ended up hissing as he ran into Eddie’s fingers. 

“Russians.” He managed to get out, when Eddie quickly took the sleeve away so he could talk. “We got kidnapped by fucking Russians. Also we kinda saw some shit and they’re after us. Possibly you now if they saw you with us.” 

There was the briefest of pause as Steve and Robin stared at Eddie, as Eddie stared back. 

Then Steve and Robin as one started howling with laughter, so hard that Robin’s head ended up in Steve’s lap with Steve’s own head resting on hers. 

Eddie turned to give Gareth a pinched look. “Russians.” He said, still calm despite it all. “Right.” 

Which had to be the fucking drugs speaking. 

Gareth just took a deep breath as Eddie managed to gently prod Steve back into putting his chin in his hand, shaking his head ever so slightly. 

He didn’t know who he was going to actually have to murder, but at least Eddie looked to be on board with acting as his backup.

About Dyersfilm’s “leak”

For all of you who don’t know, dyersfilm is an insufferable individual who used to go by the name of swiftlynatalia. She is racist, homophobic, transphobic, and even made fun of her supposed favorite actress’ eating disorder. However, people on Twitter (especially mlvns) entertain her because she had reliable sources during the filming of S4, and after during post production. She had some true leaks, many being the same that Reddit got right, while others only she had. She was also wrong about quite a few things, but generally she was reliable.

It is worth noting though that she is extremely biased against byler (many of the leaks she got wrong for S4 were pertaining their storyline) and absolutely hates the ship.

This time around, she was getting some leaks during the first couple of months of filming to her curious cat, but she herself claimed that these were not reliable leaks whatsoever and that she was pissed because this time she doesn’t have access to the real sources she had for S4. She has complained about this repeatedly for these past few months. The leaks she has gotten tho, many she has mocked and made fun of because they don’t align with what she wants from the show. She also made a “disclaimer” when the show started filming again that she would not be posting leaks about Byler because she hates us all, and yet every single one of those most likely fake leaks she got she posted, and many of them talked about Byler. She would post them and mock them for “clearly being untrue”. She has barely gotten a single Mlvn positive leak this whole time, and when she’s gotten at least something that alludes to them having scenes together she immediately ran to post it and alert all her friends, even tho she herself knows all of these are most likely fake.

For weeks now, her curious cat has been dry af because I guess nda’s are stronger this time, or no one wants to leak shit to her (she’s rude as hell). she posted the following ask 10 days ago. Someone asked her if she knew about any Mike and El scenes and she said no. Keep this in mind for what’s coming next…

Then suddenly yesterday, she alluded to a Jonathan spoiler she’s supposedly pissed about, but refused to post it like she’s done for everything else. People quickly thought it might involve Byler because she said she wasn’t going to post “leaks” about it, even though she had already lol. So they asked her and she said that “yes, it has to do with Byler.”

Then shortly after this someone asked about Mlvn again, this was just today. Again, note how she proceeds to say she knows nothing about Mlvn 😭

Bylers on Twitter noticed her answers about Mlvn and her comment about a supposed byler leak involving Jonathan and started speculating. She ofc noticed this, and not even after an hour of her saying she knows nothing about Mlvn she goes on to say this.

She knows nothing but somehow she knows Mlvn is stable? The bipolar disorder of these answers could rival my own bipolar.

Mind you, we all know that she would’ve jumped up at the first opportunity to post any leak that implied Will was pining and miserable, her and her friends would’ve had a field day over it. And yet, she only clarifies this after…

Not to mention how utterly ridiculous this all is. They’ve filmed stuff up until episode 4 (from what we know), why the hell would Will be pining and hung up over Mike if Mlvn is endgame? That makes absolutely no fucking sense. They would have him immediately fully patch things up with Mike and move on, not be hung up on someone he can’t have in the middle of an apocalypse. Especially not after the Duffers said he’s getting a happy ending. Will getting a happy ending but still being in love with Mike halfway through the last season with Mlvn being endgame is absolute lunacy.

Especially when you consider the fact that narratively, in a sense, Will has already moved on. He doesn’t expect anything from Mike, he doesn’t think Mike can like him back. He saw Mike confess his love in front of El, he helped that confession happen. Will literally has no problem with Mlvn anymore pls 😭 He saved them!!

Will is somehow upset at Mike not feeling the same way…when Will already believes Mike doesn’t feel the same and doesn’t ever expect any reciprocation 😭

Either she’s wildly twisting this supposed leak out of context to fit her own perceived narrative of what should happen, or she’s straight up lying about this.

AITA for asking my parents to pay my tuition for the semester, lying about how I lost my scholarship, and then planning on lying to my dad regarding his requirements in exchange for him paying the tuition?

My (20X) college has a scholarship for offspring of faculty members, and I was lucky enough to have my application accepted by the college that my dad (53M) works at. This means that I get a full ride scholarship; if I graduate within 4 years, I won't have to pay a single penny to my college (books and supplies not included, of course).

Unfortunately, the scholarship does have two requirements; I need to have taken at least a certain amount of credits semester before (not a ridiculous number), and for that semester, I need to have gotten over a 2.0/4.3 GPA. Easy enough, right? Who can't get a GPA over 2.0?

Well. I suffered a mental health downfall the past semester and I ended up failing half my classes. I was unable to sit my finals. I know this wasn't smart of me, and I think I should've done something about my academic situation other than just wait for the semester to be over, but I had quit a semester due to my mental health decline previously and I didn't want a repeat of that. In any case, I got a GPA of about 1.6. I'm not on probation but I did receive a warning.

Fortunately, this doesn't mean I lost my scholarship for good. I just need to fulfill those requirements in the upcoming semester and I get it back.

I realized I did need to pay my tuition this semester two days before tuition fee acceptance closes and I debated telling only one of my parents. My mom wants me to finish college no matter what, and my dad has told me that he does not care anymore as long as I don't stress him out. He's also told me he no longer has any expectations for me whatsoever. I did also consider talking about it with my brother and borrowing money from him to put together the tuition fee.

I figured I'd bite the bullet and just told my dad, who I know has been stressed about my future and how badly I'm doing in college. I just casually dropped it as I was making breakfast for myself and then we had a lengthy conversation that my mother (51F) joined when she got back home.

I don't remember much of the conversation (I may have memory problems) but the AITA mentioned part is that I lied to my parents and told them I did sit all my finals and try my best. I didn't. I tried that for mid term exams but I had nothing to write, so for finals I didn't sit them at all. This happened with three of the classes I was taking. I just didn't take my finals. My dad was suspicious of my claim; he said that as a professor himself he wouldn't fail students who at least submitted homework and sat their exams to write anything at all, but I maintained that I tried.

The conclusion was that my dad would be willing to pay my tuition if I got my shit together and also deleted my social media, which he thinks is a drain on my time and energy. He's not wrong. I deleted my Twitter accounts immediately afterwards (which my parents don't know about) because I've been thinking about it, but I can't really bring myself to get rid of Discord, where so many of my friends are. People I've met while studying internationally, long-term friends who moved to other countries; Discord is the only way to contact these people.

This is the AITA part; if my dad follows up on that particular requirement to check if I deleted Discord, which he particularly dislikes (he has previously confiscated the electronics I bought with my own money that I earned, after he saw me on muted call at night with some friends), I plan on deleting the app/program on my devices but using it anyway as a website. This would be a betrayal of my dad's trust in me, but there's no love lost between us anyway. He's already told me he doesn't love me unconditionally. (Yes, I'm his biological child and he did raise me.)

I also feel like an asshole because I could've settled this with the help of my brother; I'd pick up a job during the winter break to pay him back, but it would have been done eventually. Or I could've just gone to my mom. She works her own job, and we could've figured it out together without telling my dad. I told my dad anyway, wanting him to pay the tuition, even though I knew that talking about having to spend money on his kids stresses him out deeply.

My mom also told my dad to go to therapy (in detail, so I know it wasn't just something she said as a throwaway thing) during the conversation. It did get heated. I don't disagree, but I don't know if that'd be okay; mental health is stigmatized where I am, and my dad as a grown adult man and a respected professor if seen going to therapy could have his reputation kind of effected. It wouldn't have happened if I just brought up this whole situation quietly up to my mom, or just my brother.

So I lost my scholarship, I lied to my parents about the technicalities of how that happened, and I'm asking for some amount of money from my parents but also planning on lying to them in regards to the terms they set out. AITA?

yntakestheseas  a lot of yachties go and do the Caribbean season which starts around November, do other seasonal jobs like skiing or go home until the following April. I personally stick around Europe (there is still work) and usually end up doing couple of trips to Dubai or the Seychelles, it really just depends on who you work for! But good luck! Its a great job to have

Your profile pic was you with a soft, pink filter wearing a bikini top with pastel, heart shaped cups. Your banner was a pattern of those candy hearts with phrases like “Lick me” and “Cutie”.

Your bio simply said: “Miss me! Miss me! Now you gotta kiss me! ~<3”

He stood there trembling, feeling so hot even in the cooling air of the open refrigerator. He imbedded your username into his memory, taking a screenshot just in case. He grabbed the drinks and headed towards the living room.

Right as he hit send, the “bing” was accompanied by the “ding-dong” of the doorbell.

He opened the door to a playfully aggressive Eli and perplexed Matt. Eli pushed Klitz into the living room and onto the couch, spewing out ridiculous accusations along the way.

“You can’t lose your virginity first, that’s not happening, I’m not going to let that happen!” Eli spat, pacing the room, punctuating the sentence with pointedly wagged fingers towards Klitz.

Matt’s ears perked up.

“Wait, Klitz do you have a girlfriend?” He interjected between the interrogation scene.

“Guys, no. I don’t have a girlfriend, no one is hitting on me, I’m no where close to losing my virginity soon! Leave me alone Eli, and check your texts, geez.”

Klitz put his hands up in defense and defeat.

Eli’s eyebrow quirked up.

“You still haven’t answered if you saw anyone you recognized.” He prodded.

The room fell silent then erupted with wise words from Eli.

“So you did see some puss!” He whisper shouted while scrunching Klitz’s shirt, shaking him about on the couch.

“Ok! Ok! I will make a deal with you. If you leave right now and don’t blow up my phone, I will tell you at school. Deal?”

Klitz bargained with the horndog, which was immediately accepted with full enthusiasm as a hand came down to Klitz’s, shaking it jarringly.

“Deal!” He exclaimed with immense force. He quickly hurried Matt and himself out of the house, feeling as if they got out fast, the truth would get to him faster.

Klitz flopped sideways on the couch with a sigh. He opened his phone and into his twitter.

He had a lot of “studying” to catch up on.

I really like your Eat Predators videos. I know you said you’re done, but part of me wants to hear all your thoughts on the latest stream (which I started watching out of morbid curiosity and then had to rage quit). It’s annoying to see her turn on the (women) directors of the show when she, first of all, acted like she absolutely loved the docuseries while it was trending and then jumped on the “actually it’s bad” bandwagon for clout, and secondly, sat down with them in the first place knowing damn well that people just do not get paid to be featured in docs. It’d be like getting paid to give an interview with a journalist and would be ethically ridiculous. Now she’s acting like she was bullied into being interviewed because she wanted to be featured in the final cut more? That’s just petty. And honestly, she should have known that her story, as fair as it is, does not and never has compared to racist harassment, sexual abuse, being forced to do the insane sexual shit that the writers were forced to do, etc. How was Dan Schneider the bad guy in her story except insofar as he didn’t prevent children from bullying each other (which he should have done, but there are a metric ton of teachers, parents, and other adults who are guilty of the exact same thing). She’s a grown adult but acts like a child who doesn’t understand the industry that she literally grew up in.

How do you feel about the accusations against Percy?

I'll answer this one time and then I won't make any more comments on the matter.

I followed the whole thing from day 1 and was more than willing to accept that the allegations could be real. However, I was also vaguely present for when a girl stole another girl's con photo of her with Joe.sph Qu.inn, claimed it was her and that he'd assaulted her. Which of course, proved to be a false allegation when the actual girl stepped up and said how that was her stolen picture. I've been on the internet since elementary school and have seen how it can be a powerful tool to expose abusers who otherwise would've never seen any justice and also how people will use those same methods to ruin someone else's life. So with all of this in mind I was ready to believe them but if they wanted me to disavow a guy and join in on trying to end his career I needed hard proof.

I followed the entire thing, saw their claims, saw the evidence that was given from their end and the side of people who'd found holes in said claims and evidence. I aimed to try and find people who contesting the claims but weren't Percy stans to try and keep things as unbiased as possible. The claims of the accusers frankly fell apart the more stress they were put under. their timeline was vague and inconsistent, there was at least one event, party they claim he had at his house in Vancouver where things occurred, that he could not have possibly been at because he was in Atlanta filming The Gifted. Aries claimed first to have gone to school with him, then knew people who knew him, then was just speaking up for the victims. She said it was hard to see her abuser blowing up now and getting famous, someone mentioned how he was already in The Gifted, a decently popular marvel show. She didn't know about it. She claimed to be Marvel fan. He's also been acting since he was a small child and fairly well known already in Canada, were they both live yet she claimed his career was only now getting big. This is basic info and if she really was close enough to have been involved in this in any way she would've known it.

There were claims of a police report being filed, when people asked if there were any records of this (something that would be theoretically possible to get if they did not already have a copy, not a ridiculous ask) they then claimed they didn't file one "because the police are useless". All this inconsistency and lack of anything solid, especially a timeline -- something they would not need any documents for to get decently right -- has lead me to believe at this time that the allegations are false.

On top of all this the people who believed and supported those making the claims willingly spread child pornography of him all over twitter as if any allegations make it okay to disseminate child porn. Which does not you know, make me really wanna be on your side since that's kinda something I'm morally against.

I understand that sometimes the only way to get any justice is going to the court of public opinion. The justice system is imperfect and sometimes going online is the only way people can get any kind of justice. Journalism was the only way we learned about Weinstein. However, if you just say shit on twitter, a site not know for it's veracity of facts or ethics, with no solid evidence I will not join in your crusade against anyone. If there is no way to prove or lend credibility to you claim I will not blindly believe it. I want that proof both because innocent until proven guilty is how the law actually works but also because if I am going to bat for you against everyone I meet from now on over this I want that bat to made of something more substantial than cardboard and vibes.

If more substantial evidence against him were to come out in the future I will reevaluate my position on the matter and adjust accordingly. It's not that I don't want to believe them, it's that I don't want to be used as a pawn in someone's campaign to form an internet lynch mob. I do not want to be used as a tool to ruin someone's life for sport or petty grudges. I take claims like this seriously and so if it cannot stand up to a basic stress test I cannot in good faith believe it. Because if I cannot make sure it's real then the angry mob your leading could very well be damaging the life of someone innocent and I don't want to be party to that. Believing all victims does not mean automatically throwing away critical thinking and believing everything they say, it means helping them get their defense and offense straight and backing them up the whole way through. If you can't prove to me you even knew him how am I supposed to defend your stance to the rest of the world?

alright, i need to ramble about something incredibly niche and specific to me that it probably won‘t bother anybody else. but.

being online too much, specifically being in this fandom too much, seriously fucks with my head sometimes. i already have a really hard time trusting my own head because during bad weeks, eighty percent of it is filled with intrusive thoughts that aren‘t true anyways. i‘m slowly learning how to not believe them, how to recognise them and anchor my trust in other things. but i‘ve only started on this process and i have twenty-two years of habits to unlearn, so it‘s gonna be another while before i‘m at a good place i think.

in the mean time, i‘m still going to struggle with my own perception of the world. most times, i don‘t know how to correctly judge a situation or completely misjudge something. my confidence in myself is completely shattered because i can‘t trust my own thoughts, and so i‘m very careful about making quick and harsh judgements about others, especially in online spaces where all i know about the person are a profile picture and a display name. i screenshot a lot of things and send them to my friends to ask for their opinion, to ask for reassurance and test out where my current thoughts lay and how much i can rely on them. and i don‘t ever call someone a term unless i thought it over at least 150 times.

others, as i‘m starting to see, don‘t think things over 150 times. they don‘t seem to think it over once, and sometimes they straight up lie about it or purposefully use a term that they know is not correct. to put this abstract statement into context: i just saw someone on twitter compile a list of „haters“ (their words) because these „haters“ expressed that louis is not on top of the priority list for going on tour and if they had to choose, they would choose someone else over louis. apparently, that is enough to warrant the term „haters“ and statement sentences like „they are louis haters as they choose others over louis.“

now, i‘ve seen plenty of others calling this person out and telling them that they‘re being ridiculous. which might also be the only logical thing to do, but it definitely wasn‘t my first reaction. my first reaction was to think „shit am *i* secretly a louis hater? have i just made it all up in my mind? am i a horrible person?“ (you get the picture) which might also seem ridiculous to you, fair enough, but if i hadn‘t seen those other people calling them out and explaining how that is not a fair conclusion to make, i think i would have spiraled a lot further and maybe even ended up convinced that i actually was a horrible person and i‘m just manipulating everyone into thinking i love louis. now think about what would happen if this was about something more serious than petty fandom fights.

i‘m fully aware that this is a me problem, and as stated above, i am working on it. i also have a wonderful support system with my friends and i know when to take some time away from being online. but still, i‘m sitting here, wondering, if it really is necessary for others to be so quick in calling names? because you can‘t tell me making a list of people and purposefully calling them „haters“ (when they probably knew fully well how it‘s not the truth) wasn‘t intentional? why do people feel compelled to lie so much? do they seriously not know that lying about these things can seriously fuck someone up and just don‘t care, or have they never taken a second to think about the power and range of their own words? because some people who were on that list were able to laugh it off, but if i had been on that list? yeah, no, i don‘t even want to think about the spiral that would have started. or what would have been at the end of that spiral for me.

i can‘t even remember anymore where i was going with this, but just. ocd and intrusive thoughts suck so much, and they affect fractions of your life and your self that you can‘t even begin to imagine until you actively live it yourself. i just wish that the one thing that has brought me so much joy over the years, a community that praises itself on being a loving and accepting community, would actually be nicer to each other and treat each other with respect. not everyone is equipped to brush things off, so many people are a lot more vulnerable to manipulation and gaslighting, and i wished that at least fandom could be a bit more gentle with it. i guess not though.

Aw man I have so many thoughts on Drill and Scrap Knight. Copy n pasted pretty much word for word from a twitter thread bc I don’t want to resummarize them. Put under a readmore for dialogue spoilers up to Drill Knight’s boss fight.

I was fully prepared to be obsessed w any other Hexcavators, but Drill Knight was surprisingly delightful. You don't understand him like I do.

He has the vibe of someone who didn't really think of his life in the long-term but is also terrified of death.

He likes the infamy gained from his heists bc 1. He's an attention whore.

But like. On a deeper level I think he's desperate to not be forgotten. He genuinely is prepared for the possibility of dying young, but he doesn't want to be forgotten just as quickly.

It's said in camp NPC dialogue that, besides Scrap, the other Hexcavators were pretty new. It's not a group that was around for a long time.

And just based off of the other Hexcavator dialogues, it seems they see it as a temporary thing too, or at the very least don’t plan on staying long-term. (Taken from SK wiki bc I didn’t want to go through screenshots again.)

They just have to do this one heist and they're all set. So it's really neat to see Drill say this line. He cares about this seemingly temporary group and it is so interesting and sexy of him

Anyways. That’s the Mostly canon compliant stuff here’s the fanficcy stuff I wrote about Scrap and Drill based off of their apparent unique relationship.

I would’ve put this under another readmore, but apparently you can only have 1 on posts so now you have to deal with my insane rambling.

I think Scrap is like. Pretty old. Like. 58 or something while Drill's somewhere around his 30s. They're equals for the most part but the age is important.  

She’s in no way the epitome of an adult who should be responsible for a kid let alone a teen. She’s like a wine aunt who's kind of a bad influence, but she still has valuable insight on life that Drill very much values.

They met when Drill was like. Some weird scraggly little teen and they've been pestering each other since.

 DK: There's no thrill in a heist without danger ScK: Well, there's no thrill without skill, you little shit. Lemme show you how it's done before you keel over or something.

  So that day rolls around and she just wakes him up like ScK: Wakey wakey birthday boy! Or should I say... Birthday man ;D

And Drill is still trying to figure out whether it's a Tuesday or a Friday morning. 

ScK: We gotta do something big for your big day! Like... Or or like... Or maybe!!! Fuck it were doing all of the above. We're gonna have a busy day today so LETSGO And then they rob a couple sorcerers and one of Pridemoor's treasure vaults 

 And by the end of the day they're breathless. It's become dark by then and the only light they have besides the fleeting setting sun is the dim glow of the magical relics they stole refracted in the facets of gems they also stole. 

They're trying to keep their voices down, but the excitement is too much. It wasn't a big deal though. They were the best scavenger and the best thief! 

Their chatter finally slows down and they just sit there for a moment to appreciate the chilled air. "Oh shit wait. Gotta do this before I forget" scrap breaks the peace to go rummage through their loot and drill glances over, curiously.

ScK: Tada!!

She pulls out an expensive looking bottle of wine and a glass that somehow did not break while inside the bag. 

DK: Oh... Wow  DK: Let me guess. You plan on getting blackout drunk again?  ScK: What? No, this is the fancy shit. Obviously it's for you.  DK: Really now? ScK: Yeah, really! I know your standards are high and all so I made sure to get the best of the best for you! Why did you think I dragged you all the way to Pridemoor's vault? DK: The various magical relics? The ridiculous amount of gold? Really, I can't think of any other reason.😒 ScK: Those were also very compelling reasons, but this one's the big one!

And she holds out the bottle and glass for him to take.

DK: ... You do realize that the legal drinking age is 21, right? ScK: What?? Where's the guy who raided Pridemoor's vault with me just an hour ago? Here I was, thinking you didn't care about the law. DK: Obviously I don't. 

And then he takes the items from her. but like. listen. listen.

"I didn't think I'd live past 18" 

And he's now at that middle point and that fact is just sinking in.

Y'know that feeling when you're overwhelmed w emotion or whatever but you're in denial about it / trying to push it down bc it's stupid?

You're in conflict with what's going on bc by all means it shouldn't be happening, and you're trying to keep it together to not dour the mood bc it's supposed to be fun/happy.

He's like. frozen in place for a moment because everything's just setting in. 

"Holy shit. I'm an adult." And he's reluctant at first to actually try it bc he couldn't really fathom the possibility.

ScK: Aww, come on! Don't tell me you're chickening out on me! ScK: Hey.. earth to Drill? Yoohoo! ScK: .......Are you alright?

He then (tries) to chug the whole bottle to deflect the question, which is something you absolutely should not do if you want to be correct about drinking wine.

She knows something is up but just isn't sure how to handle it. She doesn't really bring it up but still tries to lighten the mood. 

And she's not exactly equipped to handle something like that bc she's very much someone who pushes down issues too.

Far from an amazing influence.

Recognizes an issue, but doesn't personally address it. “He's a tough guy.. He's not gonna want to talk about it with me and that's fine. He can handle it himself.”

Note: He doesn't, and now Scrap has to reconcile with the fact that she actually has to act responsibly because she does in fact care about this loser and doesn't want him hurt.

It's not going to be as easy as just repressing it and laughing it off later, because the weight doesn't solely fall on her shoulders this time.

Something something she acts mean and pushes people away because she doesn't want that responsibility over another person in that way again. She's fucked up in that position more times than she wished she did and doesn't really trust herself to be in that position ever again.

The convo is important for the both of them bc Scrap has to confront that shared mindset of not thinking about anything longterm and find reasons that would comfort someone about it + acknowledge that amount of responsibility she has over her friend and take that seriously.

And like. I talked about Drill's deal. Actually looking forward for the future. Starting to delve more into the long-term.

DK: The highest quality wine from Pridemoor's vaults... Honestly, I have no idea how I'll top that when I actually reach drinking age. ScK: Well, that'd be a problem for when you get to 21! We could rob Pridemoor’s Castle itself! DK: ....Yeah. Yeah, that sounds cool.

I think I gotta speak to a specifically German fandom for a sec. Three Investigators Fandom, you are allowed to dislike the new movie coming out. However, a few pointers.

• it is obvious that they try to adapt the style and feel of earlier books and episodes rather than the current ones - possibly because they are hoping that if the film is successful they can continue making them, working their way up to the more mature cases that are coming out now

• to literally everyone who is raving on about how "those are not the 3???" - it is a trailer. A trailer. Less than 5 minutes. That is not enough to judge how the entire film will be, but we do get some good glimpses: Justus is a know-it-all with knowledge untypical for a boy his age, Peter is a bit of a scaredy cat, sporty and he gets a bit sassy/salty at Justus at times, and Bob is quite literally shown in the trailer researching something. What else so you want?

• the amount of people who are commenting on the actors baffle me. I have seen some of the most stupid comments. No, Bob having long hair does not make him a girl and no, this film is not a "political gendering" one - also him having long hair is literally canon in the books and audio plays. Another thing that is common is Justus not being thin so how about we don't publicly bodyshame a child for looking the way the character looks?!

• so many people are demanding the VAs dubbing over the child actors and like - that is not gonna work. In the audio plays their voices work because we know just these voices as these characters, but in Live Action, men of about 50 ish dubbing over children would be ridiculous. Plain and simple.

Nobody is saying you gotta like the movie. Nobody is forcing you to watch it. But maybe consider that the books can have multiple adaptions that can each be good in their own right, not to mention that the films are gonna the accessible to Deaf and HoH people which the audioplays are not, and the films are probably gonna help the fanbase grow as they go from seeing the film to reading the books or listening to the audio plays. And finally, we all know the audio plays won't be going on forever. We all know that the day will come that Jens, Oliver and Andreas stop voicing these beloved characters. We also know that even if they found amazing new VAs, the audio plays just wouldn't be the same. If this film is successful though, this might be a way the Three Investigators could live on for at least a little longer after the audio version ended.

Just some food for thought, fueled by some very angry people on Twitter and YouTube. Signed, a person who has been collecting 3??? for ages and who, at nearly 22, is actually quite hyped for this new adaption. It could be shit and then we always have the books and audio plays, but it could end up actually being good too.

Okay fuck it I'm making this post.

So, we all know the dsmp fandom, especially on twitter, has a bit of a problem with leaktwt and often lots of controversy springing from stuff obtained by kiwifarms. I'd like to talk about this, because it's been pissing me off for months and it's getting ridiculous.

Please stop trusting information like this, or at the very least be cautious with how you interact with it, take it with a large grain of salt or maybe even a handful, don't take it at fucking face value and consider to yourself: why did they obtain this information and how did they obtain it.

Especially the how, because I've noticed the amount of illegally obtained data, from information unobtainable without some form of hacking to a lot of cases of spear phishing. Spear phishing, for those who don't know, is a targeted form of phishing against a specific person; phishing is often described as trying to obtain personal or sensitive information, and here the definition is applicable as digging through years worth of information otherwise inaccessible to the average user without purposefully searching everywhere for it, specifically information from or about a specific person.

This happens a lot, we see many cases, from the people who keep doxxing ccs, to the more recent things with certain information from Steam about Wilbur being made public despite the fact it's inaccessible without some sort of digging or manipulation, and now with (I believe, idk i've not really been looking at it for obvious reasons) the whole Tubbo thing and I believe that was leaked private messages of a friend, I could be wrong there. Either way, there's been so many cases of doxxing, leaked private messages, information inaccessible on the front end of things and it's getting to a genuinely worrying point.

And this isn't because I care about content creators, but I do care about upholding data privacy. Yes, even if they've said shit in the past, please don't go digging and digging because that does fall into spear phishing, and at the end of the day it is very dubiously legal at best. This is something we're taught about in fucking cyber security courses, for even further perspective on how bad it is. Not to mention, often this information is dug up by infamous leaktwt or kiwifarms, which are pretty known for bad faith digging up of shit.

These people dig it up for clout, they dig it up for attention, they do not care who gets fucking hurt and often bringing up old shit is going to harm more people than it fucking helps. It's even worse when you try to hold someone accountable for something someone else did, especially years in the past like it's their fault.

Just, please, stop supporting this, stop circulating this shit like morning gossip, because you're not only hurting people for no good reason, it's also often spreading illegally obtained information from people who commit cybercrimes on the regular. It breaks data protection laws, it breaks someone's fucking privacy.

Content creators are people. Respect their privacy, for fuck's sake, and stop egging on leaktwt/kiwifarms, because at the end of the day you're just telling them it's perfectly fine.

And their campaign of digging things up and harming people in bad faith doesn't end at your favourite cis white boy. They will harm minorities, and they already do, just for clout and fun. Stop it while you can before it gets out of hand, and make it clear they aren't welcome, because the fandom doesn't make it clear enough.

This isn't, of course, to say you cannot be critical of information found about ccs, but please don't allow a side effect to be encouraging or inadvertently making leaktwt/kiwifarms believe it's safe for them here, and that they are supported. Be critical when your fav is found to have said awful shit in the past, give them time to clarify, but also just... be a little critical about how accurate that info is, and who is supplying it. If you find yourself thinking 'now is this really legitimately obtained?' then maybe don't spread it, because it could be fake but a lot of the time it's already been addressed and is simply spread in bad faith.

And sure, they're exposing shitty stuff right now, but what happens when they doxx someone's address for fun?

Data privacy is important, it affects everyone, and even the worst people deserve to keep it. Sure, law enforcement and courts might be able to obtain this stuff, but you're not law enforcement nor a court and you're not entitled to personal data whenever.

Can I just say that I love the addition of "ABC, you know what to do!" to your recent asks 🤣 I think that we can all agree that if the finale by some miracle turns out to be a great episode that isn't Lucy and Buck getting 90% of the airtime, it's because someone else intervened. Did Timmy come home?? Speaking of him, I love (sarcastic) how he JUST chose to randomly post a Buddie BTS that he acknowledged in an interview as being a specific nod to the shippers and the fountain shooting up being a "metaphor" and open to audience interpretation 🙄 That man has always been *SO* ridiculously online that I'd ordinarily say that he knew exactly what he was doing by posting that at this time, but since deleting his Twitter, maybe he lost some of that online-ness and it really was just out of the blue. Idk. The lizard part of my brain wants to think that he saved the finale and there will be a different Buddie metaphor at play (ahem, the couch) but the other part of my brain is preparing for an Eddie/Marisol date in a montage 🤮 And maybe Buck with the baby and Kameron on his couch 🤮🤮 Wishing us luck, because we will need it!

Look, I just think ABC could pull off some really funny shit when they take over but that's only if the do the right thing and put their foot down about who is planning the arcs on the show. I'm not expecting a huge announcement out of it, *maybe* if we're lucky there will be something about her stepping down by HER choice due to *insert PR nonsense here* but I'm moreso going to be looking at the episode quality and pacing and arc because the show has had a markedly different feel since she took over. At least ABC will be promoting TF out of it to try and keep up viewers with the network switch so we might get more information that way on what to prepare for.

I'm also not going to pretend Tim is the greatest either since he handpicked KR to take over and LS has been a mess pacing and arcs wise too this season so IDK what was going on in those early 911 seasons, if there was someone else involved or if LS's issue is something RL related. But no matter what something has to change because this show deserves to go out with more than a fading whimper over its last few seasons.

Also, I have to say I'm fine with Buck getting a lot of screentime and taking charge during the big rescue because regardless if the writing earned that for him over the season (they didn't), it's something I WOULD like to see for Buck and I am HERE for some firefam feels after we were robbed in 6x11. I do NOT want to see L at all so I'm already bracing for that nightmare but hopefully the renewed backlash means they won't waste too much time on that. As for the rest of Buck's stuff, I'm prepared to be disappointed by all of it but hopefully it also won't take up too much time. And maybe if we luck out ABC will just handwave away anything too egregious and ignore it like it never happened.

Also, I could be totally wrong and we'll get something super amazing for Buddie which would be great! I love being proved wrong when I was pessimistic about something! But I'm not gonna get my hopes up, that doesn't work for ME personally. Good luck to all of us and good luck to ABC who are inheriting a hot mess and an absolutely rabbid fanbase.

I’ve been trying my best to stop being hard on myself but it’s difficult. My perfectionism is gone but my ADHD sure isn’t.

The thought that other people can work perfectly fine [even when they don’t want to] while I struggle to work [even when I want to] makes me upset. I’ve accepted that that’s just a part of who I am and to simply let it pass but nowadays I can’t help but beat myself up for it.

Like I want to have a consistent upload schedule. I want to draw this, I want to draw that, I want to make a video on this, then a video on that, and the list keeps going on and on. Being able to work consistently seems impossible to me...

I think the one thing that frustrates me the most is how I work a lot but also accomplish nothing at the same time. I am drained by basic tasks and can only do little by little every day and to me, that’s not enough.

But slowly, I’m starting to be proud of myself for it. It’s still an absolute pain to struggle with executive dysfunction and such but reminding myself that “hey, at least I’m trying and that’s what matters” makes me feel better.

Also, I’m still 17. That is young. I don’t know why but a lot of people (myself included, obviously) think they should have their life together as soon as they hit 18 and it’s ridiculous. That’s not how that works.

I’m still a minor for crying out loud. I really shouldn’t be stressing over work and all that lol. Actually, I’ve taken a break from Twitter because of this and due to other reasons.

I’ve also been doing what I want to without forcing myself to work. I mean, I still work… I still actively try to finish my character sprites but I don’t go out of my way to make it the main goal of my day. I’m slowly getting to the finish line and that’s cool!

I can’t deny I’m very nervous about coming back to YouTube though. Dunno why but I’ve been more self conscious about my work. I don’t have high standards for myself anymore but I just *FEEL* like my content is lacking something... I also have no clue what video to do first. Nothing’s really made me feel passionate. Minus my OCs. So that might be the cause for that lacking feeling.

Dunno if I'm making sense here but yeah. I swear every time I go on hiatus I feel like I’m going through a path of self-discovery LOL I like it though, it’s nice.

Anyway moral of the story: don’t beat yourself up if you have ADHD. Now that that’s off my chest, back to posting silly shit :3c

it’s actually really easy to figure out, almost too easy. now, if you follow someone new, you get the accounts they follow in your feed (which i think is weird, but i actually get the logic because they might follow something you’ll like), but if you hide it or straight up ignore it, you won’t see it again. there’s no hashtags on there, either (at least not at the moment), which… i kind of like? hashtags are so abused at this point—looking at you, tumblr—that it’s rather relieving to not see that. so, if you see something you like, you “repost” it (which is like retweeting or reblogging). you guys hate something that uses a mechanism that was once tumblr’s lifeblood and has taken a back seat to the goddamn like button. i… have no words.

okay, two things. number one: when you sign up for it, you are immediately given the option for a public account or a private account. of course, that doesn’t really do much to keep you away from zuckerberg’s reddened eyes (as those of us who have been around facebook will tell you), but all of us who signed up on wednesday were well aware of what we’re getting into with it. we were all like “this is good*” * meaning “for now that is”. it’s so fucking obvious that you don’t need to state it and put words in our mouths (how did we exactly come to this conclusion, anyway? that “not available to europe = privacy out the window”? i’m not in the eu, so help me out here) number two: and i cannot emphasize this more, USE YOUR HEAD. i looked into it immediately after i saw the announcement a couple of months ago and came to the conclusion that i probably needed it. it’s meant to accompany instagram, too—hence why you need an ig to get it and why you need to delete your instagram to rid of it; which tells me the bad reaction to this on here has been a major case of knee-jerk reactions without reading into it first. i’ve been in need of a place like that, a place that’s sort of twitter-ish but is a more user-friendly (and it is! it took me three days to gain 20 followers on threads; twitter, it took me a month; tumblr, it took me two months). if i was a sex worker, i wouldn’t touch the place with a ten-foot pole (and i sure as fuck wouldn’t link my personal facebook to my business instagram, like… i stopped doing that in 2012 with facebook and twitter because i thought it looked bad. really, who does that, especially if you’re a sex worker?) people on here are utterly abysmal when it comes to critical thinking and the fact so many on here are bitching about this tells me no one thought it out and instead ironically took the cowards’ way out. and this is a corollary of that but… if you got nothing to hide, stop worrying about this. really. some of you going all lecture-y about this probably don’t remember the patriot act after 9/11, how we had our privacy invaded with wire-tapping and checking the mail. hell, roe v. wade, at its core, was about a right to privacy. we all have a right to privacy, but violations of it have been going on for decades and truly getting it back has been such a tall order that it’s nearly impossible. plus, all of you saying that it’s an invasion of privacy will always make me laugh because you guys are the same generation letting technology rule your lives and letting a harebrained app like tiktok completely destroy your brain, heart, and attention span, like it’s so ironic.

and just like with american elections, it really comes down to the lesser of two evils. i don’t like zuck or elon, but i’ll take the former because at least i know what i’m getting myself into there; elon has just destroyed everything in his wake to the point of no return (so weird to think that in 2018, i thought he was going to save us all, too). but i promise if you’re in north america, and if you have your location turned off on the instagram app in settings, you’ll be fine.
