frankly i am SO tired of how fandom keeps trying to “gotcha” neil gaiman into dropping a homophobic/acephobic/queerphobic take when he is not any of those things and clearly created these characters to transcend that kind of quibbling (aka in the truest sense of queerness which is an abolishing of all restrictive bullshit). on top of that i can’t even count how often he has told people on like a million separate occasions to have some nuance and that fandom has carte blanche to see themselves canonically represented in his characters. it must be fucking exhausting to log onto this platform every day (when he could be literally anywhere else doing anything else) and to constantly be met with highly leading questions when he’s been writing canon queerness since before some of these keyboard warriors were even born. it’s exhausting as a FAN to see someone who clearly acts with genuine love, compassion, and seemingly limitless patience for the community in mind in his every interaction be dragged through the mud on the daily. it’s as though people can’t wrap their mind around the fact that he has been acting in allyship for literal decades. there were background trans and nonbinary characters in the show. david tennant has a nonbinary kid and wears a nonbinary flag pin literally everywhere he goes. michael sheen almost pursued a career in drag. these are not enemies to our community? these are our allies and people keep insisting on the daily on willfully reading bigotry into their actions. the fact of the matter is crowley and aziraphale can fuck nasty in your fanfiction or they can never touch each other in their entire immortal lives and neil gaiman will be out picketing for your inalienable right to freely represent both as well as anything else along that spectrum, while y’all line up to leave inane accusatory shit in his ask box. he’s a veteran of fielding hate mail from fundie groups that threatened the very existence of the type of representation you accuse him of not offering and staunchly stood by continuing to include it. it would be nice if that hate mail didn’t come from the group he’s actively catering to. ffs, it’s EMBARRASSING.

you know, I think the reason why there's a lot of strange takes about c!wilbur is that not enough people in this fandom have kids (be that actually being a parent or just being responsible for someone younger than you in some way).

"wilbur had absolutely no obligation to take care of tommy/fundy/tubbo, and in fact it's a Good thing that he left them because he's mentally ill"

is a take that Always reads as strange, but instantly drives off a cliff when you actually take care of kids.

don't get me wrong, I relate to wilbur a Lot. he's an extremely important to character to me.

but what's being described here is called Child Neglect. fundy is wilbur's actual son, tommy and wilbur both consider each other brothers, and tubbo is Tommy's brother while wilbur considers himself responsible for him in some way.

All wilburians recognize that wilbur felt responsible for the people in l'manberg and pogtopia, how he agonized over not feeling good enough. and that's Extremely relatable As someone who is mentally ill and in charge of a child.

taking care of a child At All is hard, double so when you're mentally ill. when you're struggling to take care of Yourself but still feel responsible for the lives of other people. when you have to meet needs for somebody else that you can't meet for yourself.

but you can't just like. choose not to take care of your children anymore and have that just be neutral.

sometimes you need to make Choices, you need to rest, you need to take care of yourself. that is all true. but you can't fully disengage from Being a parent without it fucking up your kids.

he Can leave certainly, but he can't do that without it affecting his relationships. he can't do that without it hurting people. and Realistically he can't do that without hurting himself, considering he's cutting himself off from every support he has and going to work minimum wage where nobody knows him.

which simply would not help my mental health if it were me.

and I think some people who see themselves in wilbur don't like that, because it doesn't feel Fair. to have responsibilities for other people when you're barely scraping by. to feel like a bad person for trying to take care of yourself. but that's why having kids is Hard. it's not for everybody, though you don't always get the choice.

and it's exactly Because of that that I think wilbur is extremely interesting representation for mental health, And exactly why I don't like boundless sands as an ending.

because that position that wilbur represents is Real. spiraling over feeling like you can't be what you need to be while Knowing that you Have to be there anyways is an Extremely common thing with mentally ill parents. l'manberg as a Family is real and has always been real.

and the fact that it's Difficult and Complex is the point ! wilbur hurt the people who love him most, and yet those people still love him, still need him, still Want him.

yes wilbur is representation of a mentally ill person, but more than that he is representation of a mentally ill Parent. and that distinction is Meaningful. I also think that distinction isn't as relatable to the very much so younger audience of the dream smp.

of course, that take is Also blanket weird as hell because unlike real life (I hope) the people that wilbur left behind were being hunted by a serial killer and then exploded. it's not a good move for his mental health on account of his entire family did very much so explode and die.

Dream: He is very happy and calm, feeling safe and being able to calm down if he’s feeling anxious. A nice, sweet, tender cupping would make him feel loved and that you are there for him if he needs you.

Sapnap: He’s probably be very surprised because they'd never done anything like that before, I think he’d feel really happy and loved, and probably smile a lot. He’d probably just hold your hand for a while, or put his arms around you, just because it feels good, he might end up blushing a bit too, because it'd be a little embarrassing to have someone do something like that out of nowhere. But he’d definitely enjoy being with someone who was comfortable showing their affection in that way.

George: He would be so confused, He’d would be like woah.. then probably laugh a little because it would be so funny. It really depends on you, he is not too big on physical touch. I think it could be nice for him to have a partner who likes physical touch so he’s happy but surprised.

Wilbur: He would probably have a mixed reaction of confusion and some form of happiness. He would be confused as to why you would do it and what you would do after but at the same time he would probably enjoy the feeling of your hands on his face.might just try it on you too and see how you liked it

Fundy: He would probably blush a lot because he’s very easily embarrassed about it. But he would really appreciate that. It would truly make him feel loved and I’m pretty sure it would put a smile on his face. He would probably try to cup your face too if he was brave enough. It would be the perfect moment to do so.

Karl: He would feel his heart swell with love. He feels like he’s waited forever for someone to be this interested in him. For you to cup his face shows you really know and appreciate the real him. He would think of all of the people who were doubtful, and say to himself, “Haha, I made it! They were wrong!”.

Eret: Feels like it would be an affectionate gesture coming from you. Would most likely blush and not know what to say or do. It would probably make them feel loved and special. It would be a very sweet moment that they would not want to end.

Foolish: He would be flustered as he would not expect you to do this suddenly to him. He would smile and look at you with love, then he would then give you a kiss on the cheek just wanting to show you the same kind of soft love you gave him along with the warm fuzzy feelings.

Niki: She would be so flustered! It would be the cutest thing ever. Like she would immediately blush and smile and her heart would beat really fast. She would also be so happy knowing that you wanted to be so close to her and hold her face. She just wants to be loved and for that to happen would be so cute and amazing to her.

Ranboo: The most realistic answer here is I would say he’s shocked for a moment but he would let you. He would just stare back, then smile a little. After that he would ask "what was that for?" then laugh a little and say "but it was cute" then go in for a hug.

It’s October 2023. c!Ranboo and c!Tubbo are almost 20. They’ve been married for 3 years. Michael isn’t a toddler anymore and grew up to be a lively kid, twice the size he was before and incredibly smart. It’s cool weather today in Snowchester, and the snow covered cabins are bright with Halloween decorations. The family are in their mansion, no trace of fear or sadness in them. c!Tubbo, c!Tommy, c!Wilbur, and c!Jack are making Jack-o-Lanterns at the dining table, cracking jokes and making each other howl with laughter. c!Ranboo fondly rolls their eyes at them from where they’re sitting by the fireplace with c!Techno and Michael, making Michael giggle while the three of them sorting through Halloween decorations to hang up inside. c!Phil and c!Niki are mixing cookie batter on the kitchen island, smiling as they converse over the lively Halloween music. They all soon join together to eat dinner and design their Halloween cookies. c!Fundy knocks on the door, a gift in hand and a sly smile on his face, c!Quackity following him in with a cheer. c!Eret joins, cozy fall sweaters in her arms to hand to everyone. c!Puffy and Foolish arrive shortly after, bringing a customized costume for Michael and the othere. Soon the well-loved home fills with friends. There’s no arguments. No battles. No betrayals. Just laughter, warmth, and joy. Everywhere else, the land is healing. Bloodshed and war are no more in the Greater SMP or anywhere for them. Houses stand peacefully, as they once were. People smile at each other and chat happily along the Prime Path, all trace of malice and resentment gone. Everything is peaceful again. The future was bright. No pain or suffering from the past, only healing and moving forward.

I have witnessed so many cosplays of L'manbur and GOOD GOD do some of you look wonderful. My favorite has to be the ones on the railroad tracks. Just the aesthetic is 👏👏👏. But yes I got inspired and this is the result.

It sets him on edge for the whole rest of the day. Like literally he's checking every reflective surface if his tie and jacket are straight.

Very subtle in the fact he really needed that to come from you of all people.

Catholicism doesn’t really exist in the game but it also kind of does. Basically, Johnathan didn’t know that God existed until one day all the angels started coming down from heaven to have a war with the demons from hell. And then Johnathan made a pledge to go serve god and heaven and kill all humans living on earth because they were like “unfit” or “unclean” or something. So then Johnathan’s friend Walter goes to hang out with satan and then they become enemies :( But he’s basically catholic even if he doesn’t directly call himself that so i’m gonna say yes.

Johnathan literally fuses himself with god to become merkabach. He is unhinged. At the start of the game i thought he was cool because he didn’t want me to kill my best friend like WALTER did. And unlike WALTER, johnathan didn’t fuck up the boss fight with the minotaur. But then johnathan became really really bourgeoise or bougie idk whatever idk how to spell it. And then johnathan was like “FUCK POOR PEOPLE” and i was like no girl nooooo. But johnathan wanted to fuse himself with god and wipe all humans off the face of the earth because heaven thought they were impure. So he was trying to invoke the angels of destruction so badly and i was like johnathan you can’t do that son, and so i had to beat his ass. And then by extension i had to also beat god’s ass. And then i don’t really remember what happens but johnathan was essentially the most catholic guy in existence considering i don’t know anybody else who was chill enough with god to do steven universe fusion with him.

ok so like in smt theres alignments . chaos neutral and law. jonathan is the local lawboy and this means hes like the one who rather follow the rules already established and reject radical changes. but anyways hes also shown to be some sort of follower of god in this world and also of the like. local religion or whatever in mikado (where everyone is from) and hes very devoted to the cause and to keep things peaceful as they are now instead of trying to change shit up like walter (the chaosboy)

has one fight with friend and decides to become an angel about it and nuke tokyo off the map

Fuses with literal biblical angels to become another angel that then wants to genocide anyone deemed ungodly/unclean by the biblical higher powers (which includes the entire population of Tokyo. And people who read manga).

He becomes a vampire after his money-laundering fundie simp sent him to the Holy Land. He's so torn up over his lover having dementia and God allowing so much overwhelming death that he decides he's going to try to Cure Death Forever but oh boy is it a slippery slope and the man is surrounded by enablers.

Tommy was the heart of L’Manberg.

He lived and died for it. He loved it longer than anyone else and was loyal to it regardless of the ways it failed him. He inspired the anthem and everything L’Manberg stood for, Tommy stood for too.

Tubbo was the body of L’Manberg.

He built L’Manberg. He built Manberg. He built New L’Manberg. Everyone else could give the nation everything they had, but it wouldn’t have existed without Tubbo. Not in the way that it did.

Wilbur was the mind of L’Manberg.

Without his ideas and without his dreams, L’Manberg never would’ve existed, and it never would’ve been a synonym for freedom or joy. There never would’ve been a deceleration or a war or an election or a nation without Wilbur to think of it. And he blames himself for its downfall because of this.

Fundy was the spirit of L’Manberg.

Fundy had lived in L’Manberg through all three of its administrations. He was born there. He pulled pranks on the nations people which made it what it was. And Fundy believed in L’Manberg and it’s message until the end of schlatt’s presidency. Then he lost all trust in it.

Niki was the soul of L’Manberg.

She fed the nation. She fought for it. She understood the vision of it. She loved the people inside of it for so long. She broke when it did. Niki gave up it lost its final life. Eventually she did move on.

All of them were L’Manberg. All of them lost L’Manberg. The country died, bit by bit, every time one of them lost faith in it.

George-

He would pick you up, and bring you to bed, and even if you woke up and scurried back to him he would do it again and again, to avoid the chat from seeing you like that.

Karl-

Karl was play with your hair, head on yours while you slept in his arms, he would be so happy. He would be so delighted to have you asleep on him again, he loves it.

Sapnap-

He does not notice, until a donation points it out. He looks down at you and starts poking your cheek. If you wake up from it he will bring to the bed, if you don’t he will not bother you, maybe hold you to his chest.

Fundy-

He probably would grab something pointy or that makes a weird nose and poking you with it, trying to wake you up. It makes him happy when you’re mad, he finds it funny honestly. When you wake up you’ll whack his hand away and he will smile. He’ll pick you up and hide you in a corner of the room people can’t see to sleep.

Wilbur-

He smiled, turning the camera off, your body curled into his, asleep. You were adorable, asleep on him. Maybe he could put it in a song, make a song about you. He loved it. He would bring you to his bed to nap, continue streaming but try to stay more quiet.

Tommy-

His brain stops. He stares at you, not knowing at all what to do. Then he gets a suggestion to wake you and he won’t, he does not want you to wake up. He will bring you to his bed. Not that he’ll be able to pick you up but dragging might become an option.

Ranboo-

Frozen in place, his brain does not stop all it does it go ‘What do I do’ ‘I love them’ ‘Why don’t I do this more often’ Then he shuts the camera off, and he stares at you, not that you can really tell. He is so excited and will end his stream or just talk without a camera.

Tubbo-

Oh what a man, he will pick you up and lay you on his bed, covering you with blankets and trying to make you as comfy as possible, and will kiss your cheek and go to his stream again. Or he’ll flick your cheek.

Little details I love about dsmp charlie (that were obvious already but I love pointing them out for the 14757366 time I just need people to understand the potential of this dude.)

- he hates how humans eat. He just finds it disgusting HHSJAJS

He said it specifically in foolish stream that he hated how humans eat, chew and then swallow and let it sink down "a tube" (our throat) and he was really disgusted and weirded out by it.

Then if I remember right he also said that for him, that's not the case. He just puts things inside his slime and let's it absorb (which is less disgusting in his opinion.) < forgot if it was true or not for this small little part.

- he has no idea about sex or reproduction in general, heavily implying slimes reproduce asexually (asexual king 🙏‼️)

And that the others think of him as innocent despite him proving that he is not, he's just old as hell and NOT a human

Foolish tried to explain it as a joke to mess with him, with the "when two people love each other very much.." but everyone, especially Fundy and quackity, made foolish shut up because charlie shouldn't know yet (implying they think of him as innocent ^)

In my opinion charlie would either be disgusted by the actual process of reproduction or sex in general but if you explained it to him as "two people made a baby :D" he would think humans split like slimes HSHSOOAOSLAPSJ

- charlie probably thinks sleeping is the best thing ever.

Like, we know he likes sitting it place for a long time, and what's better than laying down for around 8h thinking? (As he can't sleep or close his eyes)

- he's so bitter and cold when angry dude, it's beautiful.

first of all, we saw how kind of everyone in the smp when angry always scream, cuss, or throw hands, but charlie is probably the only one who doesn't.

He's silent, he's calm, and he's collected. But the best part is how easy he kills.

Not because he takes such a short time, it's how easy he does it. We were basically shown from the start that charlie as a nihilistic, he did not care about death. Not because he didn't understood what it was or knew what it was, but because he didn't care about it.

he knows PERFECTLY that humans can and WILL die, and he doesn't care about it. He often always talked about how things don't matter because everyone will die at the end, and he finds it difficult to focus on such little things (like soccer or any sport) when it'll literally be over one day (because he finds them useless to watch and observe, so he just doesn't.) so he enjoys looking at the actual important things (apparently humans are one of them, but he probably watches everything as it dies and reborns again, so.)

He cares so little about death, that he can kill someone without remorse. Literally, when he understood that purpled ALSO manipulated him, he wasted no time in throwing purple off and kill him. And he just, went on with his day.

And not like you can make him feel bad by talking about how you don't wanna die or have so much to do, he. Will. Not. Care.

He will deadass answer "everyone will die in the end, I'm just speeding up the process"

His nihilistic mindset was something that I was always interested in.

- according to lore, as much fun it is when people draw charlie as a green dude walking around instead of a human looking guy, that is not the case.

in lore we've been told that slimes are able to shapeshift into anything and are great at it, they can perfectly copy something and it will difficult understand the difference, but that's because they use blocks, they don't talk, they don't do anything, of course it's hard. But this also means they can copy and recreate texture and looks perfectly.

And this means? This means that charlie was probably a very realistic human guy walking around. He canonically has the uncanny valley feeling. The only thing that throws him off is his odd behavior, (and poor lying skills.) And the fact that he has two slimes on his head and shoulder. (What charlie describes as "human bits")

We know this because of the slime lore we've been told and the skin. Charlie changes skin depending on what happened to the character (when he was dormant and in the finale he was more slime looking.) And considering that for most of his lore he was "human looking", the uncanny valley fits, I'm NOT CRAZY I SWEAR (love how people draw him as a green dude walking though, very silly.)

- this might be a stupid fact, but he literally steals people's bones. Like my man saw Jschlatt and went "holy shit, bones, sick" and took them.

- the fact that his slime hurts when hungry, or he was simply stating that he was hungry by trying to mimic how humans often say that their stomach hurts when hungry (or when it makes noises lol)

- he CAN split, he just can't leave it, so this makes me think that he can split and reform as he likes.

- he's possibly older than foolish. We know he's old, but according to quackity he's centuries old and he knows foolish "from a long time ago" (idk how old foolish is though.)

- I'm pretty sure it's not stupidity, but when he ate the pupper fish, he saw how it gave him nausea and all, but decided to eat it anyway, and I think it's because for him poison is not deadly but for humans it is.

He's not stupid come on, just silly.

(it was probably like eating something spicy.)

Pride's a strange time for me. For years it was a quiet, sad, hopeful little silent celebration for me -- for as long as it took to get my family all the way out of the cult where we trained, and worked, and worshiped, and lived.

Whenever we run into people from the cult who've made it out -- really out, not just left but stopped believing in the demons that haunt forbidden things waiting to latch onto us, and the immediate perfection of the soul, and our responsibility to personally bring about the imminent end of the world -- when we find them it's like finding family. They know what it was like.

So we sat around the table, the other night, talking about how the church attached to it closed down, and how much worse we felt for a while after we left, and how much better we feel now. And then one of them said that the cult might be about to close too. They're running out of money. They have been for a long time, but they've got no land and no companies left to sell.

So I went into Pride with a strange feeling of collapse -- restraint gone with the walls of the place that used to stand between me and the rest of you.

My sister just left a few months ago. My mom a few months before that. Neither of them has really processed how it was, though they've started to understand a bit. When I try to talk to them about it, they shut down. The boundaries of the things they're not allowed to think still hold. They might always. Hell is a deep fear.

It's strange that the one thing I'm thankful I took from the cult was my partner. I'm so glad I've got him -- me, a dyke, not that I knew that when I got married; my first kiss was my wedding day and we hadn't done more than hold hands. He was the first one to ask if I wanted to leave. He wanted me to be okay more than he wanted me to stay. He's been the first one to gladly hear all the things I was doubting and all the forbidden things I'd learned. He's made space for me and kept liking me while I've learned how to be angry and sad and assertive and tired. He's figured out how to be my partner now that I can't be his wife any more.

For a while we had plans to separate as soon as I finished college. My cult's college degree is unaccredited and I have no work experience outside them and the church. I don't even know how to write a resume. We've had to postpone that indefinitely. Kiddo has multiple disabilities, and one of us needs to stay with her, and my partner has work experience, so he's bringing in the income. We're in a holding pattern. And yet.

Our house does not belong to them. None of our income comes through them. They don't have access to records of our spiritual care or our mental health. I have an ex-fundie lesbian therapist, and meds, and friends. I've got a queer book club. I can go to Pride with my family, look across the street at my friend from the cult praying and protesting the event, and know that if she sees me, it doesn't matter any more. I own my soul.

Year by year the boundaries of me get clearer. I don't feel like a ghost now, and I'm figuring out how to be a person.

I've been here on tumblr for twelve years, over the whole course of this slow escape, from the year I married my husband until now. A lot of what I saw here helped me imagine a happy future for us, and learn about queer history, and give a sense of family and a place in the world. I know some of you are coming from similar pain, and I hope you know I'm with you. And I don't talk about my life on here that often, but it's good that I can. The only people left living with me love all of me. Happy Pride, y'all.

grace is in her mid-twenties instead of her thirties, but she still has kids. we're going with a four year old and a two year old. she recently left her her husband because he's trying to go like... fundamentalist as opposed to her very evangelical roots. think quiverful and stop being active in community life shit. and grace is like??? uh... no? we are having Four Children and i have Very Important Things to Do and When Our Kids Are In Grade School I'm Going Back to School and Into the Workforce, jerk? (the jerk is gabe.)

she decides to divorce him and is suddenly... a single mother with two young children and no work experience. oh boy. mark and karen aren't HAPPY about her divorcing her husband, but they also trust her judgement and aren't actually from the very patriarchal and Procreation Is the Only Way to Honor God school of fundies. the chastities only have one kid, after all, and for all their faults... they seem like a loving couple. i dunno. i'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on this one.

so grace, mother of two and recent divorcee, enrolls in greendale community college and moves back in with her parents, who help her take care of the kids.

steph- as jeff. this is not because the names rhyme but that IS kind of funny. she's in her mid twenties and just got disbarred for Not Having A Law Degree, How the FUCK Did You Fake That?!?!?!?!? hint: her dad is a lawyer both before and after becoming the mayor and steph is very good at just. making shit up and trying to sound like she knows what she's talking about.

she ran away from home late in high school and slowly built up a life for herself and a job and a string of partners that she couldn't really connect with because, huh. maybe lying about your age and your schooling and your everything makes it difficult to connect with people emotionally? who woulda thought.

her friend ziggy is a professor at the school and is able to get her in, and she realizes that since she's actually here. in school. she has to figure out how to scrape by. a... study group? maybe? ugh. she hates that idea.

pete- as annie edison. he's 20 years old and still trying to cling to his high school dreams by his teeth. unlike annie edison, he was bullied extensively, but JUST like annie edison he was very successful in high school and a lot of that was because of misuse of stimulant medications.

due to an overdose during high school finals week, he's able to graduate but lost his spot as valedictorian because he got zeroes on his finals and final projects due to missing it. he also did not get to walk at graduation because he was. hospitalized. as the doctors tried to figure out how to wean him off these things and deal with the interactions between his diabetes and a constant misuse of stimulants for over a year.

rehab took almost a year, and his parents are so unpleasant about his failures and the fact that he lost out on all these amazing schools he applied to for getting caught that they can't even. be kind about him recovering at all or getting into community college SO that he can go to a university like he hoped. it gets so nasty with his parents that he packs it up and moves onto ted's couch, which at least. is better than being guilted for breathing at home.

HE is the first one that steph approaches about a study group, but not as much because she wants to sleep with him (like jeff and britta) as because he seems like he'd do her homework for her and "a group" that's only them will make sure he doesn't think this is a DATE but also if she doesn't look for anyone else she doesn't have to deal with that.

ruth- as britta, but she's the one who least easily maps onto her character. a lot of that's because britta is a lot less well written than the others? the big thing we're going with for ruth is that she's done a LOT but she's been unsuccessful with stuff. protests, relationships, acting career, community organizing, relationships. she's in her early thirties and back in her hometown trying to take care of some gen eds so she can get licensed to teach acting and make some kind of consistent money.

she is VERY horny, she is actually quite talented, and now that she's not a bullied high schooler anymore she is actually super hot. that's the reason that when she says she wants to join the "study group" when she overhears steph pitching it to pete steph decides to actually go with it. (they have an on again off again thing for a while but it doesn't really work out. steph and ruth end up making each other MORE insecure and really digging into each other's tender spots.)

richie- as abed! he has so much autism! he draws manga and relates to the world through anime! he decides to attach himself to steph very early on because he's like "now that's an anime protagonist right there ladies and gents" and she's like i don't know what that means. and he's like!!!!!!! YOU!!!!!! iT MEANS YOU!!!!!!! his relationships with everyone becomes the heart of the story and he is NOT a loser.

max- as troy. he took a terrible fall right before his team went to state. they probably would have won if he was playing, but he wasn't. so they lost. he was injured so badly that he spent a month in a wheelchair, a few months on crutches and then a long time in physical therapy. he kept thinking that maybe (maybe!) he could still play college ball and trying to pitch himself to schools desperately over the summer, but he can't and his grades were shit. so he was only able to get into greendale.

he doesn't still do physical bullying (largely because he's still shaky from his injury) but he is VERY mean and joins the study group for two reasons: grace decided to insert herself into the situation and he thinks it's really hot she turned him down and is older, and two: he knows he won't make it through this community college thing by himself. he doesn't have any leeway anymore from being a sports star and he knows he's bad at school.

pete doesn't want to let him in because they went to high school together (like annie and troy) but max was his bully instead of his far off crush. so he's like yeah no thank you i am not interested in this. if he's here i'm leaving. and the whole rest of the group knows that he's going to pull them through this by the teeth so they're like maxwell jagerman if you do not Make Amends to that boy we aren't gonna let you sit at our lunch table. he's almost ready to see if he can just bully someone else into tutoring him instead, but then grace gets flirty like If You Repent Maybe I willllll go for you. so he tries to make things better and they become A Study Group

slowly, he starts to grow as a person and open himself up to having fun and being kind. he and grace have a romantic entanglement that the whole group just HATES that eventually dies, and then he and richie get into a Whatever Troy and Abed have going on. i think it's qpr but interpret how you wish

ziggy is a botany professor and what? of COURSE they're not growing weed in the greenhouse to sell to emma perkins and her dispensary. hahaha you've got this all wrong they are an UPSTANDING professor of an UPSTANDING subject! which does not include marijuana!

grace and ruth, actually, eventually end up together after their entanglements with max and steph respectively. ruth is amazing with grace's kids? and she's also very very sexy and their roleplay helps grace feel... less bad about herself and her desires? she works through some internalized hatred for both having sexual desire and being bi and ruth both finds it all very attractive and is mature enough to help her through it? they both have The Life Experience that max jagerman and his very limited emotional intelligence... did not

steph and pete keep accidentally being attracted to each other and getting VERY upset about it because that is a guy that wears bow ties and is still so tightly wound he might snap and that's a girl who cheated her way through two degrees and a bar exam. the age difference is a little less than jeff and annie since i aged pete up a little and steph down a little, but it is still VERY weird and they cannot figure out if either of them even want to be in a relationship or if it would be good for them or what. but by god do they keep gravitating towards each other. and each time they collide again they're a little more compatible (I NEVER WANTED YOU AAANNNYYYWAAAYY)

I don’t know how y’all are feeling, but I’m so grossed out by streamers right now

So I’m going to give you some smaller youtube creators to watch who are so fun, and not owned by a studio that is refusing to pay their workers.

Watcher Media - Do you like ghost hunting, puppets, and food? These three former Buzzfeed employees started their own video company and they are a true delight. Shane, Stephen and the Bergooz talk about ghosts, history, food, and murder. Worth a watch!

Tasting History - Max Miller, former Disney employee, started a food history podcast that teaches you about what people ate in ye olde times, and why. You can tell how passionate he is about his subject matter. A very chill time.

Mythical Kitchen - Do you like gremlins and food and gremlins who make food? That’s basically Mythical Kitchen. It is Good Mythical Morning’s bizarre, anxious kid sibling who may have sniffed bath salts last night, but has the best of intentions. If Nicole didn’t constantly remind him that it would kill him, I’m pretty sure Josh would eat wood glue.

Disney Dan - If you’re a Disney human, Disney Dan is a great way to scratch that itch. He does deep dives into park costumes and touring show costumes, including some deeply terrifying showings from the dawn of Disneyland. He’s so much fun. He has a great laugh, and you can tell he’s having such a good time.

Defunctland - Short form documentaries about all sorts of both well-known, and very little known subjects in pop culture. He does such compelling work. I cannot recommend this channel enough.

Ask a Mortician - Do you think about dying, and the ethics of the death industry? Get onboard with the Order of the Good Death. There is something really interesting and refreshing about death positivity, or, being well informed about the industry that your family will invariably have to deal with once you die. Being unafraid to tackle the idea that we all gotta go sometime, and we can make good choices about what happens to our bodies when that happens.

Be Kind, Rewind - A super solid Hollywood history channel, tackling a lot of topics pertaining to women in the industry.

Fundie Fridays - I knew nothing about fundamentalist religion before I started watching this channel. Jenn and James are so informative, and they do their best to show empathy to those who truly need it amongst subjects that are truly horrifying sometimes. TW for information about sexual abuse and other disturbing subjects, but so informative and so important to know.

Food Wishes - Join Chef John as he cooks up delicious dishes. So chill. Such good vibes.

Demystifying Chinese Cooking - Traditional Chinese food is an entire world all it’s own, and you should know about it!

Girl with the Dogs - Canadian Animal Groomer who tells you all about the breeds she grooms, and also how to handle difficult animals with compassion and safety. She also uses a lot of her funds from youtube to give free grooms to animals in need, and promote animal adoption.

Shipwrecked - They describe themselves as stupidly smart comedy, and that’s very true. They’re an indie film company, creating historical fiction that is really lovely and funny.

Kittenlady - Hannah and Andrew run Orphan Kitten Club, a non-profit dedicated to caring for abandoned neonatal kittens. They’ve been doing a lot of traveling to learn about kitten and cat care around the world, and shine a spotlight on shelters and colony caretakers internationally.

I could literally go on forever. But these are the ones that are super standout for me at least right now!
