a little environment studyblr-like at work too 🖤
we had a photoshoot scheduled and we were prepping all the stuff, colours matching and notebook at hand so clearly I had to take this couple of pictures to post cause it's been too long since the aesthetic left this blog ✨

Also brauch ich ne neue Brille, bzw Gläser. Mein neues Stück heißt New Age.
Sonntag:
Gute Nacht

Hi My name is Carter and this is my intro post :)
Some things about me (I’ve tried everything and the first paragraph won’t format correctly I’m so sorry 😞)
~ I’m 16 and my birthday is in January (I’m Aquarius ♒️) ~ESTJ but kind of unsure about that 🤷🏻‍♀️ ~Queer / Genderqueer 🏳️‍🌈 ~I’m big on human rights ~My first language is English and I am learning Spanish. ~I hope to go to UW in Seattle and dual major in pre-med and political sciences, and then go to medical school. If that works out I’m interested in fetal surgery or epidemiology.
Why make a studyblr? 💡
I’m not naive I’m vaguely pessimistic so I don’t kid myself into believing that my blog will help many others. But if it does I’m very glad for that. The main reason I made the blog is to help me stay motivated and immerse myself in a community with similar goals.
Academic stuff 💡
I’m an Mostly A occasional B student. I’m hoping to get all A’s here on out. I have 15 college credits and I will be getting more this year. Dual credit is marked with ✳️ My courses include. For Fall 2017 Semester - Chemistry ✳️ - AP English language ✳️ - APUSH (US history) ✳️ - Also taking Spanish II For spring 2018 (may update this) - Honors Advanced Math (I think this is a mix of pre calc and college algebra) ✳️ - Info Tech I - Microbiology ✳️ - Political Sciences ✳️ - Medical Terminology ✳️ - Healthcare Sciences I
My interests 💡 ~ I find science in general very exciting
~ Music! I played saxophone and sang in choir until I moved to a high school that had block scheduling. ~ Medicine. My sister gave me a book when I was in fifth grade about Henrietta Lacks that she had to read before going to med school and I’ve been in love with medical sciences ever since.
~ I love animals! All of them. Every. Single. One. But I especially like dogs and seals.
~ I write for fun but I would never pursue writing as a career on its own. I would be open to writing about science someday though. ~ I like books that have a mysterious lead like the Mara Dyer trilogy, We Were Liar, and Looking For Alaska.
~ I like a lot of TV shows and movies I can’t even list them out.
~ I love poetry specifically Rupi Kaur ( I know everyone’s into her) and Jesse Cale. ~ I enjoy visual art like museums ~ I act and love it! Just the arts in general I love. ~ I’m very politically aware and I’m passionate about my beliefs. ~ I love to bullett journal ~ I love plants, the moon, nature.

Something else you may want to know about me is that I struggle with a few mental illnesses. To be specific I am diagnosed with Anorexia, Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD. I won’t post about these on here very much as to avoid triggers but I am ALWAYS AVAILABLE if you need or want to talk and would love to talk about the struggles of dealing with these disorders AND trying to live an organized and driven academic life.

Quick question: What is your opinion on Bullet Journals and do you find them effective? In being able to complete tasks?
I currently have a monthly calendar and in agenda but still can’t seem to finish what I started, so I was just curious if they’re as helpful as they’re advertised.
Thanks

Journaling and writing
When I was in art school we were encouraged (or mandated if you will) to have a sketchbook on our person at all times. It was a record of our thoughts, ideas, inspirations, basically dumping ground for your brain.  It was a place to work out concepts, jot down your thoughts, and dream. I also used mine to schedule my week, organize my assignments, basically keep up with my very, very, busy college life. When I got out of college I kept up the habit for several years and as you do somewhere between starting a new career and having a kid I fell out of the habit. A couple of years ago now when I decided to start taking my writing and blogging more seriously I tried all kinds of planners in an attempt to increase my organization and productivity.  I even tried bullett journaling and finally went back to what worked in college - a black hardback sketchbook with an elastic closure and holder for a pencil or a pen (I prefer pencil as it doesn't smudge if you spill coffee on it.) This one is a little over a year old and almost full. I'm trying to work my way through a short story and looked over and sort of felt accomplished. There is a lot of work and planning and hopes for the future in that book. Anyone else keep a sketchbook/journal/notebook? Tell me in the comments what your favorite type of journal is.
Hope the summer is treating you well my lovelies!

So far keeping this journal has been pretty productive, I have already set some 2k18 goals to shoot for as well as a tracker for the time of the month (PCOS is a bitch yall). Than I'll be able to keep track of all my bills, savings, hopefully soon to be credit score for a future home, than spendings for the month. So I can watch what I need to change, might have to put myself on a no spend on make up here soon lol. Than I'm keepin track of time I have at work so i can plan things in advance, a Christmas present list for family, (I'm hopping on that shit early this year) and just the weekly layout of the month day by day. I want to add more. Like goals for the week to post on Instagram more through out the week and so on. Once again thank you @rawbeautykristi for inspiring me to get my shit straightened out. As soon as I made the plans to do it, your Bullett journal posted, it was a sign. Lol Hopefully yall get inspired to do the same, and if you have any ideas or are there certain things you like to keep track off, let me know I might give it a shot for February. 💜📝 #rawbeautykristi #bulletjournal #gettingshittogether #pcos #weightlossgoals

Tara Aghdashloo ((@taraaghdashloo)) is a writer and filmmaker based in London. She started high school as a freshly landed Iranian immigrant in Toronto, Canada. She had decided she wanted to write since before she knew how to. . Aghdashloo pursued her story-telling dreams at Ryerson University’s Journalism School, and published articles and reports for a range of newspapers and magazines, while finishing an internship at the Ottawa Citizen Newspaper. She published her poetry collection in 2011 before moving to London, where she completed her MA in Global Media and Postnational Communication at SOAS University, and shifted focus to broadcast production. After a few years with the BBC World, she worked at Manoto Television and wrote, produced, directed, and presented a number of shows and documentaries until 2016. She’s been published in the Guardian, Bullett Media, The New Inquiry, Ibraaz, Fashion Magazine, Art Rabbit, Adult, and Ottawa Citizen, among others. . Her forays into curation began as she co-directed and curated TIL Gallery in East London for two years. She’s now working independently on film and documentary projects, while writing, as always, in both English and Persian. Tara Aghdashloo Studios is her production company. . My latest blog post from the cosy dragon: Review: Nicole Lara – Bullet It!: A Notebook for Planning Your Days, Chronicling Your Life, and Creating Beauty
Bullet It!: A Notebook for Planning Your Days, Chronicling Your Life, and Creating Beauty Nicole Lara
“Dotted grids, handwritten fonts, and fun doodle tutorials make this more than just an organizing notebook. It’s an artistic keepsake for your life. And perforated pages make it easy to remove your favorite pages and display them in your home.”
I can’t tell you anything about the quality of this journal. I have a feeling that most hard-core Bulletters would look down their noses at this book, because it has guidelines to help you think of creative ways to present things. Additionally, those perforated pages are a temptation to remove things you shouldn’t remove! If a journal is about being honest, then having an easy way to rip out pages is not the way to go.
I found this to be a good gift to give to someone I didn’t know anything about. If they were already a Bullet Journaller, then they might appreciate having a new one to test out. Or if they weren’t, they could be tempted! I think I’d firmly recommend this as a suitable Christmas gift for those people who are hard to buy for. At the very least, they can use it to make grocery lists and rip out the pages!
I’m not sure how I feel about ‘Bulletting’ in general. Honestly, before I received How to Bullet Plan, I didn’t understand why anyone would want to pay good money to buy a journal full of dots. Now I can see the allure. Ok, mine wouldn’t look pretty, but ever since I started tracking a couple of goals, I would like to try out the practicality of it. I’m a serial list maker, and it could be cool. Stay tuned to see whether I take it up.
