February 8th 2024
Everyone rejoice! I left the house for the first time in 2 weeks today!! I went and got my work uniform clothes!!! And perhaps some treats for myself because I Beat Covid (i am actively fatigued constantly). I also talked to an academic advisor from my old college and they said I was 100% good to start the transfer process! I gotta call my old HS’s superintendent/main office to get ahold of my HS transcripts though which is always a painnnn. But I felt productive enough today because I got out of the house!!! I went places!!

20/50 days of productivity
I am so looking forward to the weekend and not studying for two days. My focus comes and goes in waves at the moment, and taking a small break will help me, I feel it in my bones. The weather is once again very rainy which is not helping me at all, because I'd rather be either sleeping or reading in my bed. On the bright side today I accomplished my second weekly goal and I am all caught up with my history of religions lectures. So the two main tasks I had set for myself this week are all done. Now for everything to be perfect I would need to be also done with the third chapter of the book I am studying, although I am not entirely sure I will manage to finish it all tomorrow, since it's so dense and I am struggling quite a bit. Even getting to the halfway point of it would be great, but it's a tomorrow problem. Now I just want to turn off my laptop and rest my poor eyes.
Productivity:
watched and annotated the last lecture of my history of religions class

finished the June cover page and calendar in my bullet journal
started annotating the second chapter of M. Detienne's Creation Of Mythology and I am basically rereading the whole thing because my highlights suck so baddd what a waste of time (ideally tomorrow I will finish the second chapter and work on the third fully but we'll see)

🩰2024 Reading Journal🎀
My sisters and I got matching journal sets for our 2024 reading goals; mine has a ballet and ribbons theme. (You can see some of the associated washi tapes in some of my spreads!) The big blank spaces next to the book titles are going to have small custom-print stickers of their book covers once I've read enough to print a batch. The two-page spread is for Bookopoly: a year-long reading challenge that I officially started in February. I would have made it around the board once already if I hadn't landed on Go To Jail. :/
I'll do separate posts at some point for my individual reads; I don't think there's enough interest to make one post per book so I think I'll do 5 or 6 books at a time.

There are many facets of feminism, and there is one that almost everyone could fit into, you may not agree with some facets but others you will. (Liberal, intersectional, radical, Marxist etc.)

The hard part about journaling: forgetting to do it 😓 I decided I wanted to practice my german this evening, so i opened my drawer of resources and started looking through. Decided to take a look at my journal and see what was in there, turned to the bookmarked page to see I completely forgot about the “Ein Satz pro Tag” challenge i made for myself. I’ve missed most of March! Haven’t even made the header or numbers in pen! Funny thing is, the last time I wrote in it was March 8th and the sentence is “Heute schreibe ich “Ein Satz pro Tag” von 18.02 bis 08.03” because i forgot about it in February too!
Truth is journaling is still new to me and not a habit I have. it’s hard to keep up with. I do have a log I keep for every day, marking how I’ve interacted with German (studying, listening, reading, etc).
I made this challenge to get comfortable using more complex language, and to talk about my day. I am okay with not writing in it every day, but i Do want a sentence for each day. Whether I write that sentence the day of or a week later doesn’t matter to me. The “rules” I set for myself are simple:
One sentence for each day of the year
Sentences are entirely from my own head (no outside help)
No corrections the same day as writing. I’ll go through when I’ve learned more and correct them
No repeat sentences
Anyways, i’ll get the hang of this sometime. For now though, I have 2 weeks of sentences to think up 👍 (and if anyone has any tips for a forgetful neurodivergent brain…)
