oh wow Now and Then… i love that movie. that scene where one of the girls bangs on the door of the manhole in the rain screaming and crying for the other girl 😖😖😖
Ahhhh are you talking about this, Thora Birch's iconic performance? To be honest, all of Thora Birch's 1990s/2000s performances are! (some strong and offensive language in those clips that I linked, btw!
Please!! Yes! Emotions! Agreeing with the other anon's take on how that movie illustrated friendship! Loved how it paid subtle nods to the nuances and strength of female friendships in particular, as well as how that plays into identity. As I go through life and meet people, it seems like there's a group of us who are fond of that movie, and I like that! I feel like it represents something specific about us. Maybe generation and age, yes, but also a certain kind of gentleness? And a thoughtfulness? Y'all are making me want to host a viewing of it lol.

Do Randvi!
How I feel about this character
Tumblr media
I unabashedly and without shame adore Randvi. I will simp for Randvi until the end of time. Randvi could murder me and I’d go down singing her praises. I’m an absolute fucking sucker for stoic, honor driven characters to begin with. Wrap that up in a nice neat package of a sapphic woman pining for a forbidden lady love and I’m gonna buy all the merch (seriously, MAKE ME SOME FUCKING RANDVI MERCH).
Randvi is so quiet and careful in her desire, her pain, her suffering. She will sacrifice quietly and expect nothing in return, not even to be noticed. Staunch and stoic indeed.
Give me more of That Good Shit (TM).
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Eivor. That’s it. I never particularly shipped her with Sigurd because I got the impression right away that she wasn’t like... super thrilled with her husband. (I mean, look at the way her whole expression darkens when Eivor asks if Sigurd is back yet. That’s not happiness.)
Low-key I can see her in OT3s involving Eivor. Birna and Petra are my main targets for this.
I don’t ship her romantically with them, but I do think Randvi enjoys a little eye candy in the shape of Rollo and Vili.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
I don’t have any ONE person that I think is Randvi’s #1 Go To.
Okay that’s a lie, I do, but she’s like... 80% an OC at this point. And that is her sister Thora (mentioned in canon only in a letter you can find in the upstairs bedroom in the Fornburg Longhouse). So that crosses very heavily over into headcanon, but I think Randvi is extremely close to her sister and trusts her with things she would never trust anyone else with.
Within explicit canon, I think Randvi is close to Sunniva and Norvid, and not just in a professional sort of way. She trusts them.
I think she develops a very close relationship with Hytham, as he is one of the few who really understands and respects what she does for Ravensthorpe. (Eivor respects it, but I don’t think she really understands it.)
And she, obviously, becomes very attached to Coelbert. ;__;
My unpopular opinion about this character
Oooo, I don’t know if I have an unpopular one. Hold on, let me scrape the barrel here.
Well, I guess I can borrow from above for this, really.  No idea if this is actually unpopular, but it is something I have not seen anyone else discuss within the ship tag.
While I do think Eivor and Randvi are 100% Besties, I do not think Eivor is Randvi’s explicit #1 Bestie. I feel like Randvi is honestly one of the most emotionally healthy characters in the game, and she knows how to diversify her support system. Not to mention that Eivor is also gone a lot, so she cannot really just depend on Eivor. Plus, I think she is aware that leaning that hard on Eivor would not ultimately be very good for Eivor, as Eivor already tries to carry the whole ass world on her shoulders.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon
I wish she could have divorced Sigurd earlier (I fix this in my fic, The Saga of the Wolf-Kissed, btw). I understand that Hordafylke is where Sigurd finally gets his goddamn sanity back and thus has the sense to realize where things are at but... Randvi did not need that to get a divorce. Randvi has literally TONS of grounds to pursue a divorce with Sigurd - not least of which would be his continued spousal abandonment, even before they arrived in England. The Norse actually made divorce a pretty easy process, and couples were allowed to part for pretty much whatever reasons they wanted, really. Especially when there was no issue of children.
I do not see why she could not have divorced him earlier in the game, other than the fact that Video Games seem extremely opposed to writing *actual* romantic relationships. (Think about it, they almost all do their romance sub-plots like a Disney film. It it 100% about getting the girl, and almost never at all about keeping the girl. I want to go on dates AFTER I’ve got the relationship, god damnit!)
Also I wish she would let us get it on in private just like... idk, 1 time. Seriously, Randvi.

101 DRAGON AGE QUESTIONS | not accepting
for the sake of reducing the number of ooc posts i’m answering these all in one and just @ing the people who asked the questions! thank you for them all!
if you sent me one of these btw and rbed this meme yourself and i didn’t send you something, please let me know! i want to send you things back and must have missed you reblogging the meme. this includes non-mutuals.
1. How did you get into Dragon Age? | asked by @kaaras-adaar & @dreamerlavellan
Sort of by accident, actually. It was the summer between my freshman and sophomore years in university (2011) and summertime is generally a time of inactivity and depression because I cannot tolerate the weather here. My dad happened to own Origins and I picked it up because??? Fantasy? RPG?
Starting the game I saw you could play as a dwarf, who have been my favourites in fantasy since a child as The Hobbit is among my favourite books. Then after that I fell in love with the worldbuilding for dwarves and Gorim, my first actual Dragon Age love. I was more or less hooked after that. DA was actually not my first Bioware game, I was obsessed with Jade Empire as a kid so like Origins appealed to me immediately despite being far less fun to play than literally any other Bioware game I’ve ever played. The characters and world more than made up for it.
I beat it relatively quickly and my dad bought Dragon Age II which had come out earlier that day, actually against my suggestion because I’d heard it wasn’t good. And in this instance my dad forgetting something I said turned out for the best because I ended up enjoying DAII more in some respects. While it took me a while to join the fandom as a content producer I was a consumer and certified DA trash from then on.
2. Have you finished all three games? | asked by @kaaras-adaar
Kskjdfs yes. I’ve beaten each at least 4 times, but probably more like 8. The only thing I haven’t played are some of the Origins DLC because as much as I enjoy my replays I am so ready to be out by the end of the game (and I have the worst luck with Awakening bugs) and I also don’t have Sebastians DLC b/c his never goes on sale individually and I refuse to spend more than like $4 on him.
3. How long did it take you to finish the series? | asked by @kaaras-adaar
I honestly don’t know. I think it took me like a week to beat Inquisition without 100%ing it, I’d say my first playthroughs all probably took about that long. I tend not to do everything in my first playthrough. Like shard collecting didn’t happen until round two, etc.
7. Favorite DA:O backstory? | asked by @dreamerlavellan & @fatefaulted
I’ve played through all of them and I enjoy them all except Cousland, but my favourite is Aeducan. I enjoy the politics, the culture, the aesthetic of Orzammar. I love Gorim Saelac and the surprising amount of depth to this character who is designed to be thrown away after the prologue. I love how it ties you to the Darkspawn threat in a bigger way than any of the origins accomplish. I love how it ties you to the Orzammar plot later in the game, and playing Aeducan first is probably one reason why I adore that branch of the game. It’s a good origin that establishes its world really well and has great characters to boot.
11. Share a pic of your favorite OC from any DA game. | asked by @dreamerlavellan
I just want to share pics of my girl and Solas’ future husband.
Tumblr media
Ian Lavellan, non-Inquisitor written by @theshirallen
Tumblr media
Thora Cadash, dwarven Inquisitor and default Inquisitor for this blog written by... me lmao.
22. Favorite DA2 party combo? | asked by @fatefaulted
My main Hawke is a mage Hawke, so this party is horrendously imbalanced, but: Varric, Merrill, Isabela. They all just like each other and I think that’s neat. Although in act one my favourite is probably Carver, Merrill, Isabela / Varric. Unfortunately the game doesn’t want me to have a warrior in my party.
24. Favorite main-story quest from DA:I? | asked by @kaaras-adaar
It’s hard to pick between In Hushed Whispers and In Your Heart Shall Burn. I love seeing the red lyrium’d companions and the dark future of Thedas, and speculating on what happened in the intervening year. I love reflecting on what it must do for the Inquisitor to see that and have it be undone. I think it sets up the rest of the game really well, and in ways Champions of the Just doesn’t do quite as well.
In Your Heart Shall burn is a simpler quest but I think the power and emotions in the quest are so raw. Playing this the first time was riveting and I was on the edge of my seat. The triumph of closing the Breach, the strangeness of your first encounter with Cole (whose appearance at the gates is another reason I prefer IHW tbh, I think it’s more tension building than Dorian’s), Corypheus, crawling through the snow. Capping it off with The Dawn Will Come and the journey to Skyhold idk, it’s just such an emotional high point in the series that every time I replay I get goosebumps.
25. Favorite DA:I place? | asked by @fatefaulted
It’s a tie between the Frostback Basin and the Emerald Graves. I love the lore in both, as elf trash I prefer the lore in the graves especially if I can include the Din’an Hanin into that category. But the Avvar lore and Ameridan is also Very Good, and while I adore the giant trees of the graves the Frostback Basin clearly was able to have more resources poured into its design, and as a result the different sections of the map have so much more character.
A close runner-up is the Hinterlands, as I think the quests there are fun and it feels like home. I enjoy returning to it. Which is good, b/c I’ve played through it... a lot... I think loving it might be a coping mechanism, but also I love the vibe of the early game that’s best captured in the Hinterlands.
32. Favorite DLC mission overall? | asked by @fatefaulted
Trespasser is up there with Shivering Isles as my favourite DLC ever produced. Its hits every emotional beat I think it needed to hit, set up the next game with greater detail and intrigue than the initial epilogue, and I’m honestly dying to get to replay it again on Thora despite what it does to my nerves. The first time I played it I could feel my heart beating faster like wtf me.
37. Blood magic: yes or no? | asked by @hopewrought
Would I use it myself? No. Morally I think it can be reprehensible but also neutral, much like any other magic in the game. In certain characters I think even if used for good it may encourage unhealthy habits, but I think it can be learned to be engaged with in better ways.
59. Who was written really poorly? | asked by @theshirallen you can’t hide behind anon I know it was you
Oghren fucking Kondrat. When I think about the reasons Origins is my least favourite game he is among them. With Oghren there was a really good chance to portray an alcoholic abuse victim, suffering from severe mental health issues, and still mourning his wife, with the respect it deserves. Instead he just... is a gross sexist dwarf and his alcoholism is mostly played for jokes. And then he comes back in Awakening and... continues to be a gross sexist dwarf whose alcoholism is mostly played for jokes.
There could have been some really interesting stuff with Oghren, the Warrior caste of dwarves I think would suffer from issues similar to qunari warriors, where when they can no longer fill the purpose society has dictated they must serve, what then? They can’t do anything but fight. There could be comradery with Sten, or perhaps Zevran or Alistair, or any of the companions who have had the path their lives took dictated to them by societal forces they had no say in (even if they are happy with that direction). There are snippets of good stuff in here, the line “let us show them our hearts, Warden, and then show them theirs” is one of the best of the good-byes the game offers us imo. It’s a shame about what came before.
Like there are other characters, such as Sera, who I think were done dirty by their writers, but Sera at least got some growth in the DLC and there were attempts to address criticism of her character. Oghren in Awakening was just kind of a take two of an already poorly-done arc.
60. Who do you wish had been given more story? | asked by @hopewrought
I wish Briala had more, like that she had some impact on the story in universes where Gaspard isn’t crowned with her as his puppetmaster. She and the elves reappears in that but not if you reunite her with Celene or exile her, and I think it would’ve been neat. I also wish she’d had a chance to interact with Solas in some small way given how many parallels were drawn by one of his own agents during Masked Empire.
I also wish we had more about dwarves in general in 2 and Inquisition. We get some great lore in Inquisition that was set up in 2, but with our only dwarf companion being Varric, who honestly has a relationship with his race that at times is comparable to Sera’s, it pulls a few of its punches. I really think they have dwarves set up to be important players in the next game, with their architecture featuring heavily in the dev diary, buuut no dwarves to be seen. So who knows. Just give me dwarves in the next game who aren’t Varric Bioware pls. Let me kiss one maybe.
61. Favorite NPC? | asked by @kaaras-adaar
I’m not going to count advisors even though they kinda are NPCs and I’m going to answer one for each game so uhh...
Origins - Anora
DA2 - Feynriel
DA:I - Krem
Bonus - Lord Woolsley, the only unproblematic DA character
63. Best story moment? | asked by @ghilannainguideme
It’s a tie between the journey to Skyhold and the talk with Solas at the end of Trespasser and the resulting disbanding of the Inquisition (if you so choose). I really can’t separate them because I think the reason Trespasser works so well is how it calls back to the very beginning of Inquisition and that moment with Solas in the snow. It’s triumphant and sad, something’s ending, the fellowship is breaking, but you know all of you will continue to work towards a better world apart.
In DA:O I think it’d be saying good-bye before the final battle and in DA2 I think the moment where you can tell the Arishok he was right to take in the elves who killed that guardmen is good. Probably one of the reasons why I think Hawke-Arishok work so well as a protagonist-antagonist combination.
81. Favorite fanfic? | asked by @ghilannainguideme
I don’t read a lot of fanfic, actually. Save what I read on here, which I do count, but idk if other people do.
My favourite writers to read are @theshirallen, obviously. Joly wants to tweakIan’s personal quest but I think the version they have written now is still very good and you can find it here. I love reading Peace’s stuff and find their smut especially spicy in the best possible way, you can find a Merrill/f!Mahariel piece here! Gaia doesn’t write on Tumblr much these days, but she wrote a wonderful Tug/Sketch (the companions from Leliana’s Song) that you can find here.
I follow so many talented writers and I can’t list them all but here are a few I can fire off real fast: @theshirallen / @ghilannainguideme / @seahaloed / @sabraelin / @valorcorrupt / @mercysought / @hopewrought / @ofrevas / @skyheld have all moved me with their words at some point, be it in fic or rp.
82. Favorite fanart/fanartist? | asked by @ghilannainguideme
Again I just can’t choose jsdfks.
The easiest way is to just link my Solas fanart tag. Obviously this favours Solas artists, however, so also here’s a link to thedaswlw where there’s a boatload of amazing fanart all of wlw.
Of people I’m mutuals with I know @abracafockyou, @kaaras-adaar, @dalathin (currently inactive but I gotta link them), and @syntharts are all very talented artists.  I’m also a big fan of destinyapostacy, nipuni, elbenherzart, starscollected (on twitter), and many more.
97. What’s your favorite DA mod? | asked by @ghilannainguideme & @hopewrought
I’ll chose one as many as I want to apparently from each game again, b/c why not?
DA:O - I have to admit I find this game hard to mod because nothing can really salvage the gameplay or look of the game. I need Better Dwarf Model so I don’t have to look at the odd dwarf proportions in the game (the women have arms for days). Mostly I have armour mods. I like Grey Wardens of Ferelden so I can match Alistair in the final batte and have everyone in uniforms in Awakening. I do like Kirkwall Exports because I can put Zevran in the robes of the notorious pirate tho. I haven’t used this mod yet but I also love this mod I retweeted this morning.
DA2 - Again, I don’t mod 2 very much. You could probably make some kind of chart for correlating my enjoyment of a game versus my urge to mod it, with the more I love a game means I want to mod it more. With 2 I enjoy the combat and overall design of the characters more so I mostly use a couple of tweaks, my favourite is Ishs Scarf for Merrill which just adds a cute blue scarf to Merrill and hides the fact that elves in this game have weirdly long necks. Oh and a mod to fix the weird hand dirt.
DA:I - Equal Opportunity Solas mod, I bought the game again on PC just to use it. Being able to play Solas/Ian for screencaps was everything tbh. Other mods I enjoy are More Banter, which while I have better luck with banter it is nice to be able to count on it. I installed it this latest pt and I have heard location comments that have never triggered before. Black Hair for Everyone has changed my life because finally Thora doesn’t have grey hair. No Dirt Buildup is also amazing, as the dirt can cause some really weird blotting on PCs that’s especially noticeable on dark-skinned Inquisitors.
99. Where would you live (Ferelden, Orlais, Free Marches etc?) | asked by @heysales
Probably Ferelden. It is fantasy England and hey if I make it past Inquisition maybe nothing will ever happen there again. Somewhere in the Free Marches might also be chill. Not Kirkwall. Maybe Starkhaven? Honestly tho I just want to live in the Frostback Basin. Have a spirit friend. Shake hands with nugs.
101. If you could meet your Warden/Hawke/Inquisitor, what would you say? | asked by @dreamerlavellan
If I met Thora I’d tell her I’m proud of her. She’d be confused, but that’s ok.

Birthday surprise (Ivar/Reader)
A/N: Hello!💜 This is a small fic I wrote for @cbouvier23 birthday!💕I’m very late lol, but anyway, happy birthday and I hope y’all like it. I had this idea a few weeks ago but I didn’t have the chance to write it until now, it probably is rushed and not very well written, but I'm trying my best♥️
Btw, thanks for all the comments and messages, I will try to reply to all of them soon😘 and I still have some fics to read! I hope I can reply all the comments and read all the fics you’ve tagged me in tomorrow morning!
Warnings: Smut, Ivar is not a very good husband, reader feels neglected but... 😈 I love Thora and Hvitserk.
Words: 2025 (this was supposed to be a 1000 words fic)
Tumblr media
gif belongs to @multi-fandomations
Ivar never forgot anything when it came to you.
You should have known better, but you underestimated him, though you had your motives.
And there you were now, paying for it in the bed under him, moaning loudly with his hand on your throat, choking you.
Since he became king of Kattegat, you had been feeling a bit neglected. You got it, those were hard times, he was still looking for Lagertha, Björn and Ubbe and he needed to work hard to gain the trust and respect of the people. But you hardly saw your husband, and that annoyed you.
Of course he still had those small details that assured you that he knew you were still there, like making you sit on his lap during the feasts, caressing your hand softly as you sat next to him, with your head on his shoulder, watching him look at numerous papers and maps, tracing new plans.
Or those times when he came to bed in the middle of the night, grunting and breathing heavily due the pain on his legs and the tiredness. Ivar would rub his beautiful eyes and yawn before looking at you, asleep on your side of the bed, but facing his side and with one hand under his pillows, as if you were waiting for him to join you. He'd kiss your forehead softly and smile as you moved in your sleep, then he would lie down next to you, under the warm furs, and hug your cold body, which would immediately relax between his arms.
You heard him get up every single morning. As soon as the firsts rays of sunlight lightened up the room, Ivar abandoned the bed, leaving you alone again.
You were proud of him, how could you not? He had managed to become one of the most powerful men in all Scandinavia, and he was already as famous as his father. He was known for his smart strategies and plans, and everyone admired him.
But sometimes you wished he wasn't king. You watched some other couples with envy, sitting on your throne as Ivar chatted away with his men, drinking and laughing. He would stay there for hours, listening to his people, and when he turned around again, you would have left already, too bored.
You sometimes wished to have a relationship like Hvitserk's and Thora's. He seemed completely devoted to her, and she looked so happy... During one of your long walks with Thora (who had become one of your closest friends in Kattegat), she had told you Hvitserk and her made love every night and every morning, that he woke her up with kisses and every time he had to be away from her for a few hours, he would kiss her lovingly and tell her how much he would miss her.
You, on the contrary, couldn't remember when was the last time Ivar kissed you.
You remember the last time you both had sex, though, and it repeated in your mind every single night, when you were laying all alone on your bed, touching your body with your own hands as you missed your husband. It had been on his new throne, after a feast. There was people still on the hall, most of them already passed away and the rest too drunk to notice what was happening. You had rode him for almost two hours, and didn't even try to hide your screams. Of course Ivar smirked the whole time, and took his time pleasuring you with his fingers and his cock.
Maybe you should have talked to him, but you didn't want to make him angry or sad you knew how important was Kattegat... You couldn't risk the well being of an entire city only to have your husband for yourself for a few hours!
But would I risk it, though? Would it hurt if he took a free day and spent it with me in bed, making love and maybe conceiving a prince or a princess?
Though you must admit, that day it hurt even more.
Ivar left even earlier that morning. And you woke up a few hours later, when the sun was already up and you could hear the noises and screams from the people in the streets.
A bit disappointed, you let the thralls braid your hair in a different way than they used to, put on a new dress Ivar had bought for you a fortnight ago, with brilliant colors and fine material. It was made in a very distant land, and the cheerful colors made your eyes stand out. You had been waiting for an especial occasion to wear it for the first time, knowing Ivar would like it.
But when you got to the great hall, he wasn't there either.
You tried to hide your disappointment as you greeted Thora, who came early to give you a beautiful new bracelet as a birthday gift. You had breakfast with her, a bit more cheerful when she proposed you to go to the beach for a walk.
You were very glad Hvitserk found her.
Your husband's brother came in when you had already finished your breakfast, and hugged you so tightly you almost fell back.
"Happy birthday, little sister!" He said with a big smile, making you laugh as he lifted you up.
"Thank you, Hvitserk" you smiled back at him.
"Ah, you look beautiful" he winked at you caressing your hair as he smiled "I still remember when you were a little girl, too small and too nervous, running before me and my brothers" he sighed "And now look at you, a grown woman, married to the brother she hated the most and the new queen of Kattegat"
"I'm younger than you and I've done more things" you smirked, winking at him.
Hvitserk rolled his eyes and Thora laughed, grabbing his arm and kissing him softly.
Your smile faded immediately, and you looked away from them, only smiling again when you saw Ivar entering the hall, grunting as he walked with his crutch.
"Hello" you smiled at him, waiting for him to maybe kiss you and wish you a happy birthday.
Ivar didn't smile back, he only kissed your cheek and asked you;
"Do you have any plans for today?"
Before you could even answer, shocked to hear he hadn't remembered your day, Thora spoke.
"I thought we could go to the beach and spend the day in there, right, Y/N?" She smiled widely, and you managed to smile back though you wanted to cry.
"Good idea" Ivar shrugged "It's sunny today... I'm going to rest a bit" he frowned, touching his leg.
"Okay..." You bit your lip. Should you stop him before he left and tell him he was forgetting something?
That he was forgetting about you.
Thora comforted you that day, and she managed to make you smile a few times, as you told her embarrassing stories about Ivar and Hvitserk when they were children.
You ended up spending more time than you intended on the beach with her, and you had almost forgotten the disappointment of that morning when you went back to the great hall.
But when you entered your room, wanting to maybe take a bath and relax for the evening, you found something you certainly didn't expect.
There was an enormous table just in front of the bed. It was full of plates, with your favorite food in them. The room was illuminated by some candles and the thralls had changed the furs on the bed.
You gasped, your heart beating faster and faster and your lips curved in a small smile.
"Ivar" you whispered.
"Did you truly believe I would forget your birthday?" His voice came from a darkened corner on the room, and you bit your lip when he approached you, with his crutch in hand "I could never"
"You seemed so busy lately..." You didn't even tried to hide your happiness "I wouldn't have blamed you"
Ivar sighed softly, his blue eyes were fixed on yours, and his expression was relaxed. He wasn't King Ivar anymore, he was just Ivar, your Ivar.
"What did I do to deserve you?" When he was close enough to you, he  reached to cup your face with his warm hand "My queen, I've been the worst husband in the world, haven't I?"
"You haven't" you smiled, touching softly the hand that cupped your cheek with your fingers "I understand you have things to do"
"That's not an excuse" he leaned into you, pressing his forehead to yours "Please, forgive me"
"You're forgiven" you nodded, already hypnotized by his amazing eyes on yours.
Ivar kissed you. Oh, how you had missed his soft lips against yours, his taste, his passion...
He grabbed your neck and kissed you until both of you were out of breath. You panted against his lips, your eyes still closed.
"I hope you're hungry" he muttered, a mischievous smile on his lips.
You didn't really eat a lot of food.
Your body needed him, desperately, and you didn't even try to hide how much you wanted to touch him, to feel his hands on you again.
Ivar couldn't resist much more either.
Soon, you were naked, moaning and screaming with his tongue against your clit and his fingers buried deeply in your sex, curling at the rhythm of his tongue's movements.
Your hands were on his braided hair, and your hips moved against his mouth and his hand. His eyes fixed on you, studying your movements, the moans and sighs of pleasure that left your parted lips, even how you screamed when he bit softly on your clit and curled his fingers at the same time. He smirked every time you moaned his name.
You came on his mouth, and he licked all the juices that rolled down your inner thighs.
Then his lips traced a pattern on your skin, starting on your lower belly and continuing on your breasts, collarbone, neck and lips. You could taste yourself on his tongue, and it was the sweetest taste in the world.
You tried to unbutton his trousers, wanting to return the favor, but Ivar didn't let you.
Tonight is all about you, my queen.
He made you cum again, only with his fingers, with his forehead pressed against yours and his lips parted, looking at you amazed. Looking at you moaning his name in pleasure was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.
Then he thrusted into you.
You gasped and moaned in surprise, immediately moving your hips against his. Oh how much you had missed that feeling. His thick cock stretching your warm walls, hitting that secret spot just right, hearing his grunts and deep moans into your ear as his fingers caressed your neck.
He started slow and passionate, enjoying every single sound and move you did. But Ivar lost control pretty easily. How could he not when he saw you throwing your head back? With your beautiful neck exposed, untouched...
When his hand closed around your neck, you moaned again, and your walls clenched around him even more, making him growl and thrust even harder.
"I can't believe you thought I would forget your birthday, Y/N" he sounded hurt, panting on your ear.
"I'm sorry" you managed to say, though it was difficult to focus when he was fucking you so good.
It was the best birthday present you could ever ask for.
When you came for the third time, you sobbed his name, your nails dug on his shoulders, scratching his back. Your walls tightened around his cock, making him hiss as he let go of your neck and grabbed your hips, thrusting even faster until he came too, his warm seed coating your walls.
Both of you kissed again, this time the kiss was sloppy, but intense. Ivar bit your lip softly before breaking the kiss.
"Rest a bit" he muttered, smirking when he saw your eyes closing involuntarily "I will tell the thralls to prepare a bath" he kissed your forehead "For the both of us"

so what do you think about the episode?
I was afraid someone would ask me that bc I have some controversial opinions on the last episode of Vikings… So, let’s see…
First of all: WHERE THE FUCK IS FLOKI?
Tumblr media
I really want to believe they wanted to leave us with the suspense. It is too stupid for me to believe Floki died that idiot way. Such a huge character, such a big person, dying that way was too stupid, even for me. Like Lagertha - who was supposed to be dead LONG AGO and has NO FUCKING AGE to be dressed to battle as she was in the fucking trailer for season 6 - he’s part of the old cast and I really wish to see Floki in season 6, having a better ending than buried in a mountain tricked by the Christian God.
Now… One by one, and the shorters first:
Ubbe Ragnarsson
Tumblr media
The meeting with Hvitserk, in the end, was TERRIBLE. I was waiting for any kind of talk, even an angry one, anything. But they didn’t exchange more than glares and Hvitserk’s eyes were pretty confused, not letting me understand if he was sad because of Ubbe’s clear rejection or if he was mad for seeing his older brother there. A weak presence, strangely punctual, with no introduction and bad worked for something we wait through this entire season. I love Jordan’s acting, but in this episode, the script swallowed him.
Lagertha
Tumblr media
What in the actual fuck is she still doing in this show? She’s old, tired and has no purpose but spoiling Björn by being alive.
For someone who started this war with a selfish behavior, for a crown that wasn’t hers anymore, placing brother against brother because of her impossibility to accept Ragnar’s current wife - and queen of Kattegat - wasn’t her, killing dozens of people for cowardly refusing a single combat against a crippled sixteen years old boy, and fucking with an entire lineage because of her need to be queen for a couple of months, Lagertha seems to be receiving too much attention and too much care from the writers.
Please, someone send this woman to Valhalla SOON. Love Katherine, but Lagertha was over THOUSANDS of years ago…
Magnus
Tumblr media
Do I have to say something about this pitiful attempt to reintroduce the religious conflict into this series? This shit was presented with Athelstan (perfectly, btw), then with Ragnar (ok… good), then with Ubbe (fine, we got it, enough?), then with Hvitserk (what the fuck? Buddhism? And how in the actual fuck you just throw something you liked so bad away like he did with the little Buddha???), and Magnus…
Magnus was a TOTAL throw-away character, a total loss of time, with no real plot, no real participation, who did nothing but confuse the spectator and died without solving the mystery we all wanted to know: Was Ragnar telling the truth about sleeping with Kwenthrith or not? Think we’ll never know…
Amma
Tumblr media
I thought she would be with Magnus and give him some plot. Now, idk what to think about her. She seems to be a strong character loyal to Björn, but also, a character who came just for this season finale. Let us see… I hope to see another strong woman in this show, at least.
Gunnhild
Tumblr media
FUCK ME, WOMAN! I WANNA MARRY THIS GIRL! She’s amazing! Her battle skills were amazing! Her scene shooting straight to Ivar when everyone was shooting around was amazing! The way she fought EVERYONE to take Björn outta that place was amazing! I will fucking dry my stock of “amazing” with this woman. My favorite woman FOR SURE.
Harald
Tumblr media
I have to say I was reticent with Harald since the beginning. I think Peter is a huge actor and gorgeous man and stuff, but Harald always got me with a foot behind… However, this episode showed me he’s trully a loyal man, who sticks to his word even knowing he could be a son of a bitch and warrant his crown by letting Björn die. He was intense in this last episode and I hope to see good things from him in the next season.
Now… The polemic ones…
Let us start with Björn…
Tumblr media
I grew in hate for Alexander’s character since he started to act as Björn was when he was a child, showing himself an arrogant person, cheating on Torvi like fuck and doing things he reprehended his father for doing - for the ones who don’t remember, he was the one who reprehended Ragnar saying it was disgusting to know his father was fucking another woman that wasn’t his mother (when ubbe was made, btw).
However, I must admit in this last episode he was strong and intense. I would even be fallen for him if it wasn’t my analytic eyes who noticed since the beginning the enormous curve this season made to break Ivar and build Björn under the eyes of the public. So, I’m sorry Alexander - for his actuation is absolutely perfect and he’s good as fuck making Björn - but I still think Björn does not deserve the crown he’s wearing now and if it was to make Björn the king of Kattegat, Lagertha could only have waited until he came back from the Mediterranean bc Aslaug wasn’t denying his birthright and since Ragnar fell ill, she was collaborating with Björn to raise Kattegat into the great market center it became under their hands. So, no war would have been necessary and Björn would have ascended to King of Kattegat anyway. It was a stupid end, tbh. Sorry, sad, but true.
My baby, Hvitserk…
Tumblr media
I love to see him fighting, but I’m tired to see Marco’s character being beaten in this show. This episode was a real beat down to his character who was beaten from the beginning to the end. From discovering his beloved Thora was dead burned alive by Ivar, to having his flank defeated in the war, passing by not being able to kill or even reach Ivar and going under his brother Björn’s shadow once again after all he did to prevail by himself, Hvitserk was knocked out in this episode and the last hit was Ubbe’s arrival, embracing Björn and twitching lips to him that disgusting way, causing me chills of anger for seeing such a bad ending for this relationship.
Hvitserk deserves better than live under his brothers’ shadow until the end of this series and the trailer for season 6 really made me have chills about this possibility, since we clearly can see Ivar is proposing Hvitserk to join him again - or forcing a dagger against his throat for a positive answer, which is just worse than just propose.
Hvitserk has been being treated as a game by the writers, being beaten from side to side, failing in finding his destiny whenever he jumps sides and extending a conflict that could have been already solved in his plotline. Every brother has its own side. It is passed time from Hvitserk to grown into an independent character.
Passing it by, the battle scenes with Marco’s growls and marvelous acting are amazing and I can’t wait to see more of his acting - which is actually the only reason why I’m still seeing Vikings.
I gonna be beaten for this, but… Freydis.
Tumblr media
Everyone hated her from the beginning because of the bad acting Alicia gave for her. Fine.
Now let us take off Alicia from this show. Put anyone there, idk, anyone you like. Forget the actress. Let us look at the plot story that was presented to us and what it was really supposed to be.
Freydis was a slave girl from Viking people (not Christian origins), a woman who believed in the Gods and, more than anything, who believed deformities were a sign of the Gods’ favor. Period.
When she’s brought to talk to Ivar for the first time, she already knows who he is and she seems pretty fascinated for him - Alicia’s inexpressive face at this point kinda killed this fascination, but when Freydis says “I would do anything you ask me to do” she was supposed to sound fascinated, looking to someone she sees as a God. Ok? - and she says what she really believes about him: that he’s fated to great things since she knows he’s the son of Ragnar, from Odin’s lineage, a God, a man marked by what she believes is the sign of the Gods’ huge favor - since Ivar’s deformity is huge.
Forward, she’s seen looking at Ivar from the other side of his room entrance… As a free woman, she didn’t need to be there to serve him, which means she was there to see him. It gives us the impression that she was observing him, looking at him from some distance - what is proved if you remember the party scene when she’s also looking at him from far away. So, she was a woman with a crush on the new king of Kattegat, who was seeing her crush become everything she thought he would become. Freydis was a fascinated woman, who was noticing some interest from the man she was fascinated with over her.
Their interaction was supposed to be an innocent love starting. She was supposed to be shown as a woman who really was doing everything for the man she loved and believed was a god. Even fucking another man, giving up her own dignity to create an illusion for him to have the child he wanted so bad, just to warrant his dream. Killing to warrant his dream wouldn’t be broken. In her mind, she was really doing a huge sacrifice for Ivar. She was going down and far for him, for his love, for her beliefs. In her mind, when Baldur was born deformed, she received a HUGE gift from the Gods, for her son was marked by their favor and deformed like his foster father. In her mind, the gods were giving her their connivance, marking her child with a deformity so Ivar would never doubt the child was his and her illusion would give him his dreams forever.
She was a woman, in love, deluded and with a mind broken by her beliefs - someone recognizes it?
A man, wanting love, deluded about himself and broken by his legs’ deformity and disease???
That’s what I’m talking about!
Freydis was supposed to be a pair for Ivar, for real! We were supposed to have suspicious she could be manipulating him, but the acting of Alicia in this character gave us the total opposite, causing us to doubt there was any love in her actions when Freydis was completely in love for Ivar and deluded by his false divinity.
She really believed he was a god! And it all breaks when he kills Baldur for his deformity, showing her he never believed the same she does, her son was never favored by the gods, her sacrifice was nothing for him, and the illusion she fought so hard to create for him was shattered, for he didn’t want to be a merciful and loved god, but he decided to be feared and cruel against his people instead of following her advice.
Baldur’s death killed Freydis heart, her love for Ivar but more than that, her illusions and beliefs. She lost her faith, she realized all she believed about deformities and the Gods’ favor was a lie, and it brought her the realization that all she believed about Ivar was a lie. He was no god, he was just a monster in her vision, a monster who killed her little child and destroyed everything she created for them. She became a broken woman who was supposed to have shown in the end that the love of a mother surpasses everything, by betraying her “beloved” Ivar in order to avenge what he did to her son.
I’m sorry for Alicia’s fans, I have nothing against her, but her acting destroyed Freydis’ plot and she had a REAL GOOD plot in here! She was supposed to be loved, not hated. We were supposed to be mourning for Ivar’s way to kill her love. But here we are, hating and celebrating…
The poor woman deserved better and she really loved Ivar for good. The bad actress’ choice, in this case, swallowed a good plot after all. And I’m sorry for seeing this. With fewer scenes and less interaction, Eve Connolly was able to make us love Thora more than Alicia did for Freydis in an entire season… Sad, again, but true.
And, in the end, but not less important, Ivar
Tumblr media
A complete deface. That’s what I saw in this season.
Ivar was built to be a dual character, Alex made a HUGE job to show us his duality and, in order to promote Björn as Ragnar’s little favorite, Hirst defaced Ivar’s duality, feeding his ego, causing him to become a huge motherfucking asshole to make us hate him and open our hearts to sweet Björn’s cause.
Let us put things right here: Ivar was RIGHT. His mother was killed in cold blood by a bitter selfish ex-wife, coward enough to not to accept a single combat against him, coward enough to put brother against brother and kill dozens in a war that could have been solved simply fighting him when his ego wasn’t that swollen and all he wanted was avenging his mother.
Now, the initial purpose completely vanished in the battle of egos this season became and a character who had a real valuable reason to make war is now just being a spoiled little boy crying because his toys do not want to play his game the way he wants.
Sad and ridiculous to see the exact opposite we saw with Freydis: in her case, a good plot destroyed by bad acting. In his case, a huge actor being swallowed into a vortex of bad writing and bad plotting.
Like Jordan and Marco, Alex is being swallowed by the bad writing of the series and even then, he still shows his huge talent, carrying Ivar in his back as a heavy burden, showing us emotions in his eyes, feelings, sensations, breaking the bad plot with his intense actuation and causing us chills whenever he raises his fierce blues towards the camera.
Defaced or not, Ivar is still one of the best interpreted characters of this series and I am sad to see in the trailers that Hirst will go for madness to finish the defacing of Ivar, putting him totally sunk in the role of a villain when he was clearly a dubious character that could have been saved by a better use for Alex’s heavy talent.
Hallucinating with Freydis, forcing Hvitserk to join him as if his brother was nothing but a dog, Ivar is going down and down with the only purpose to allow Björn to glow in the eyes of the public since in season 4B and 5A, Ivar started to carry the series in his back and it was never the intention of Hirst that Björn could lose the position of, in Horik’s words, “Baldur” among the sons of Ragnar.
A sad plot for such a marvelous actor and a huge struggle from Alex to deliver us a phenomenal work from the beginning to the end of this season. Applauses for him and someone please stab the writers or come to fandom for some more ideas.
As Alex said himself: Some theories and stories from fans are “better than what is written”, but he didn’t say that… “Obviously.”
That’s what I think, dear anon! I hope you enjoy!
