What felt like a few days, had turned into weeks since you’d last actually exchanged words with Bruce. The house was silent as ever, you couldn’t seem to bring yourself to forgive Bruce: and everytime you’d convinced yourself that your anger had subsided, it simply all came over you again.
Back to square one.
The guilt was eating Bruce up, although he had no idea how to go about his emotions. He had a few things on his plate already that demanded to be dealt with, not as Bruce himself although as the man behind the mask. Bruce was struggling and you knew. He wanted to give you space, and yet at the same time, he was desperately holding himself from barging into your room. And then what?
It’s not like he could easily erase your memory of the publicised affair. Not like he could wash away the immense frustration and sadness you felt.
He caused that, that was on him and it was killing him.
Some nights, before Alfred had turned the lights off for the day, you’d notice  shadows circulating across the floorboards, seeping through the shallow gap between the door and the ground. It was Bruce no doubt, contemplating if he was bold enough to approach you or not. The only thing standing between the two of you was the door, and every night it ended with him walking away in a haste.
The innocent part of you, if you were being honest did miss him. You missed his touch, the sheer volume of his presence. You missed his voice and how husky it would sound. You missed the way Bruce would kiss you goodnight always, no matter what time of the night. Although, every moment you found yourself reminiscing the pure moments, was followed through with anger.
You had no idea how long this was going to last, this “grudge” you held. Although you couldn’t bear to look at Bruce for now, the thought of having to look him square in the eyes as you tried to talk it out, to some degree infuriated you.
It was only a matter of time...
***
“Y/N, Mister Bruce wishes for you to join him for dinner in the hall.”
Instead of Alfred arriving at his usual time with you dinner ready at hand to your door, he’d proceeded in empty handed.
“Alfred, not tonight, I-”
“Please, Mrs Wayne-”
That name, that title you now shared. During these past few weeks, it seemed you had truly forgotten that you were at the end of the day still Bruce’s wife. The event that had disrupted your relationship seemed to have caused you to erase the feeling that you were indeed his partner.
“He needs you. He really needs you now.”
You tore your eyes away from Alfred’s face, the sheer sadness or more so plea for you to resign your resentment was evident. He sighed.
“I haven’t seen him like this since the night his-... Well, you would know.”
He sighed, fumbling his fingers on his walking stick, as he looked down. Alfred knew Bruce better than anyone else. He was years ahead of you in knowing Bruce, and had come to see him during his lowest moments.
“Yes, okay Alfred, tell him I’ll be down soon,” You insisted with a half-smile. This moment came sooner than you expected, you felt unprepared, as if you were walking into a trap. Although having witnessed Alfred’s plea, it seemed Bruce wasn’t doing so well without you.
***
Walking down each step until you’d entered the main dining hall, you felt your heart sinking further into your chest. You felt like you had suddenly fallen ill, your strength has you gripped the railing lessen, weakness in your knees. Immediately, looking up from the ground, Bruce already had his eyes on you, and much to your shock, there was a hint of relief. He instantly stood up from his seat, his plate empty as he’d patiently waited for your arrival.
Yet no words exchanged.
He looked absolutely run down, exhausted. Lack of sleep perhaps, suggested from the prominent dark circles around his eyes. His hair looked as though it had remained unwashed for a few days, although it seemed he made the attempt to keep himself maintained for tonight, wearing a dark, black suit.
Alfred was present, as he set your end of the table ready, pouring you a glass of red wine.
“Thank you, Alfred.” You hesitantly smiled up at him before your eyes instinctively looked ahead towards Bruce. He was still looking at you, in awe that you actually had showed up.
Not long after, Alfred walked himself out quietly, closing the large wooden doors behind, leaving you both alone.
As you picked up your fork, your hunger beginning to settle in, you hear a faint cough before a familiar voice called you.
“Y/N, I-I want to apologise-”
Despite feeling Bruce’s gaze on you, you couldn’t bring yourself to watch him. One hand fumbling in your lap, as the other held the fork, playing with the entree before you.
“I’ve been missing you so much, these past few weeks not talking to you, not being able to be near you. The fact that you might just hate me, I-I can’t function.”
“What is this, are you trying to guilt trip me into forgiving you, Bruce?” You firmly disrupted.
He was taken aback, a puzzled look on his face began to appear.
“Y/N, no, I  could never do what happened to you intentionally, but I need you to know, Selina was the one that came onto me.”
“Wow, you guys are already on first name basis, impressive Bruce. Would that mean she knows who you really are behind that mask? She know you have a wife at home, worried sick night and day until you come back in one piece?!” You persist, your tone rising as the fury inside of you began to stir.
“No, of course not, Y/N, I-”
“Then tell me why you seemed to find yourself indulging in her advances, Bruce, why it took you so long to come to your senses?!”
“She needed my help, Y/N, I promise! We knew the same people, same culprits I-I had no choice but to help her, a favour for a favour. I got desperate for anything, I was hitting dead ends on this case... But I never knew what she was capable of, or what her intentions were. I’m telling you, she doesn’t know who I really am, and if she’d found out I’m sure she’d want no part of it.”
His fists had curled against the table as he slowly had risen himself up from his seat, leaning down as he steadied himself.
Although you felt mostly anger, you felt the tears swelling in your eyes, as you turned your gaze away from Bruce. As you attempted to compose yourself, you came to the haste realisation that the reason you’d felt all these immense emotions was because you’d still loved Bruce.
“I-Is she the reason why you spend more time in that suit than at home with me?” You hesitantly stuttered, sulking in between, as you felt the tears streaming down fast against your tender cheeks, looking up and back down from Bruce.
Instinctively and without hesitation, he came rushing towards you, crouching down your side, as his hands cupped your face gently, a thumb stroking the tears away.
“Of course not Y/N, baby, how could you ever think that?” You shook your head in response, shyly shrugging your shoulders as you couldn’t find the courage to speak.
“It’s my fault. I’ve lost sense of what it is to be your husband, I’ve misplaced what was important to me, and that’s you, Y/N, I mean it. I never stopped loving you but I got caught up in other things that I forgot how to.”
As your hand reached up over Bruce’s hand, the contact to contact feeling you’d once despised now the urge of all that had been missed had caught up. Before you’d had the chance to hold him, he walked back towards his end of the table, leaving you confused. Bruce had leant down, snatching a black bag from the ground that you hadn’t even realised was there, so discretely hidden behind the thick leg of the table. He walked back towards you, crouching down as his hand reached within the loose bag.
“I’ve been really thinking, ever since our fight. I’ve been contemplating all along when I knew the answer from the start-”
In time you looked away from Bruce to what he revealed to be the cowl of Batman. You looked even more weary.
“Bruce-”
“Let me finish, Y/N-”
As he demanded, you obeyed. Slightly easing yourself back in your seat, your hands in your lap, as Bruce mustered up his words.
“Between what I’ve become and who I’ve failed to be, I’ve always known what was most important to me. I’ve denied the truth that I’ve been struggling to balance this life and that life, and as a consequence I lost you. I took on this role, not only for my family’s legacy, not for vengeance, but to protect the people of Gotham, to protect the people I care about, to protect you. In the process of it all, I never saw it coming that I’d be the one to hurt you, Y/N. These past few weeks, I haven’t been myself. God, I’ve missed you-” His hand reaching over to yours, pulling it up as he kissed it, before placing it back down, still holding it.
“I’ve made the final decision. I want you to have this. I don’t want to be someone that verges to protect when I can’t even protect you from myself. I’d rather sacrifice this over the possibility of you leaving, Y/N.”
“Bruce-”
“I love you so much.”
That same hand released its grip from yours as he tugged your hair behind your ear, your hand softly grasping his wrist as he did so. The hand that had been holding the cowl, urged for you to take it, he had no hesitation pulling it back, as he insisted.
“Bruce, I-I can’t let you do this.”
“But-“
“I know, I know that you’re sorry for everything. I know that you’re guilty of what happened, and that you’ve struggled to come to terms with repercussions of this-” You suggested as your eyes peered over the cowl, back to Bruce.
“I know that it hurt you to see us like this. But I can’t let you give this up. It’s been hard, and with what happened, you know better than to let it repeat itself. I know this now… But I want you to continue, I can’t be the reason you might regret this in a few years time, when Gotham needs you most.”
“Y/N, but I failed-”
“And that’s what it’s all been about, Bruce. That’s just life. But you can’t give up after every hiccup. I am your wife, and I knew exactly what I was getting myself into. Not so aware of the other competition I had, but I knew there’d be nights where I’d be up waiting for you, to tend to your wounds and to support you. I married Bruce Wayne because even though you put that cowl from night to night, it’s still you.”
You could see a faint smile appear on his face, as yours did. He threw the cowl by the side, as he slowly stood himself up, pulling you in closer for a long, overdue kiss. Despite all the tension, the passion was still vivid.
“How’d I get so lucky?” He exclaimed pulling apart as his strong arms wrapped around your body. You’d never felt more secure than as you did in this present moment.
“Guess I’m just your blessing in disguise,” You chuckled, before resuming your long awaited night of bliss.

Okay but like. A slow burn with Bruce Wayne?
"Isn't it a little past your bedtime?"
The deep voice behind you makes you wince. You'd hoped to avoid his notice a little longer but- you should have known. Bruce Wayne knew everything. He'd probably known the second you crossed the city limits.
"A bit," you say turning slowly, looking up at him. "But I'm headed home now."
He nodded slowly. In the cowl, his face was inscrutable. But you knew he wasn't happy to see you. Four years ago, he'd made it clear he didn't want to see you again. And yeah. He'd been grieving. Jason, his son, was dead. He'd lashed out, hurt and furious and guilty. Like he'd done so many times before. But this time? The things he'd said you couldn't overlook. Not even for Bruce. So you'd left.
"Welcome home, Y/N," he said, opening your car door.
"Thank you, Batman."
----------
You curled on the rooftop chaise wishing you'd moved back while it was still warm enough to use the pool. And watched tiny leaf tornados swirl on the rooftop just below yours, and sigh. Just when you thought you were cried out, you were unpleasantly surprised to learn you weren't.
Another jolt of pain would rip through you. At this rate you were going to have to buy stock in tissues. When the sliding door opened, you jumped, ready to shout at them. But when it was Alfred, accompanied by your housekeeper, you relaxed slightly.
"Alfred," you say, "I'm afraid you caught me 'not at home'."
"My apologies," he said contritely. He'd intended to scold you for staying away from the house. For having to find out from Bruce that you were home. But now? He understood. You'd come home with nowhere else to go. Not sure where to go after your divorce. "But I thought I'd be remiss if I didn't do something to welcome you back." He proffered a plate of cookies gently.
"Jess?" you asked, turning to the housekeeper, "Will you make us some tea?"
"Of course," she said, "Anything else?"
"No," you answer, pausing "Maybe a wastepaper basket. I seem to have made a mess."
Jess looked at the pile of tissues and if she had any opinions, she didn't voice them. Turning to go and do as you asked as Alfred takes the seat you offer him, setting the plate down.
You curl onto the chaise and wrap your arms around your knees, feeling vulnerable and uncomfortable as Alfred regarded you.
"So," Alfred said, "Is the scoundrel still breathing or have you remedied that already?"
You snort in spite of yourself, wiping your face on your sleeve, "I don't want him dead. I wouldn't want to leave his kid without their dad."
Alfred blinked. He'd heard through the grapevine that he'd triggered the infidelity clause in the prenup. But- this he hadn't heard. "Y/N I-"
You shrug, smiling your thanks at Jess, "We'll wait on ourselves, thank you." Alfred waits until she left and the door had shut before turning back to you with a frown, "I hadn't heard-"
Another inelegant shrug and a sad smile cut him off. "I suppose he got tired of waiting- or got tired of being disappointed," you say. And Alfred watches helplessly when you hug your knees closer to your chest and lay your head down, hiding your face to try and get your composure.
He'd soothed many broken hearts over the years- but this he didn't know how to fix for you and it made him feel, for the first time in a long time, useless. "I'm sorry," he said softly.
When you start crying in earnest again, he moves closer, laying a hand on the back of your head gently and rubbing the back of your neck, "The circumstances are horrid, but I'm glad you're home, Miss Y/N. We've missed you."
"Bruce-"
"Master Bruce," Alfred huffed, "Learned the error of his ways about a week later after the dust settled. The only reason he didn't attend the wedding or call you after that was foolish pride." He picked up the box of tissues and handed it to you.
You huff a laugh and lean against his side, grateful for his presence. His calm helped. Unphased by the mess your life was in, he'd simply shown up and you could feel him gearing up to take control.
"I think he'd be pleased if you came to dinner with evening," he said honestly. "Kate is coming. And we have new children living there that I think you'd love."
You look up at him, hesitating and Alfred smiled a little. "Master Bruce will be on his best behavior," he promised.
"Do I have to dress for it?"
"No," he laughed. "The dress code has relaxed a little bit since Clark insists on showing up in flannels and 'formal' dress for Diana happens to mean armour."
"So I can wear jeans?"
"As long as they do not have holes."

The Blood Within Us Chapter 16
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Pregnant! Reader
Summary: Will the reader do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves when tragedy hits the Wayne family? How far will the truth be tested when she realizes she’s not the only one with secrets of her own?
Warning: smut, oral, oral receiving, lactation, lactation kink, armed robbery, abduction, minor car crash, fake officer
After the wedding reception, Bruce thought it would be nice for the two of you to get away from the manor to a penthouse apartment you both owned in the city.
He claimed it was both your honeymoon/babymoon, not that you minded. You two finally arrived on the top floor with both your bags.
“There’s one thing I have to do before we get in.” Bruce said.
You quirk an eyebrow, then you suddenly yelled in surprise as Bruce took you in his arms.
“Bruce, put me down!” You squealed, trying to smack him in the chest.
“It’s tradition to carry the bride before entering their honeymoon destination.” He smirked before the automatic door recognized you two from its facial recognition and allowed you to enter.
Bruce walks in with you in his arms as he began peppering you with kisses around your face and neck.
“Bruce, the bags-” You tried telling him, but to no avail, as you refrained from moaning the pleasure he was giving you.
“No one is coming up here, it’ll be fine.” He said in a rush, as his kisses became sloppier by the second.
He finally found the couch without him breaking eye contact with you, letting you sit on the couch.
His eyes became darker by the second, as he quickly tried taking off your clothes. Much to his surprise, all of your undergarments weren’t beneath your clothes.
“Cut me to the chase.” He said.
“I wanted you to have easy access.” You said, blushing.
“What a good girl.” he whispered, eyeing your clit that was begging for a taste.
He then grabbed a throw pillow near him and placed it behind your back for support as you arched your lower body, spreading your legs widely.
“On the contrary, I’m quite naughty.” You said, sucking your pointer from your left hand as you used your right hand to kneed your right breast.
He smiled coyly before striking into your folds, making you gasp.
He places your knees over his shoulder as a way for him to suck your juices deep inside you. He doesn’t mind your hand pushing his head more into your clit, as you pulled the raven locks that had small streaks of white you loved most. You tasted perfection.
Bruce looks upward and sees you looking down at him, sucking your finger more as well as massaging your boob. He saw a white residue slowly trickle down your chest, making you whimper.
You were lactating.
As you take your hand away from the back of his head, he pleads with his eyes for permission for him to stop what he was doing. You nod your head hastily, as Bruce took his lips away from your pussy, making a popping sound.
Your hands found their way to your swollen lips as you start rubbing them. He smacks your fingers away as he slowly guides his throbbing tip into drenched pussy.
You are about to scream at how big he’s gotten till he attacked his tongue to lick off the excess milk on your body. Soon, his mouth got ahold of your areola and sucked the nipple. A rush of milk started to go down his throat, as he was gulping up the contents.
You yell his name out loud repeatedly, as you felt his hot cum buried inside of you. Bruce switched to different breasts, continuing what he has done a second ago.
“You’re so - beautiful-” Bruce said between breaths.
“I know,” You said in a cocky way, only for him to nibble on your nipple to tease you rotten.
Soon enough, he carried you to the bedroom to be more comfortable. He tried telling you that you didn’t have to please him with his throbbing member (although it BEGGED for attention), but you gave him a quick blowjob in the shower.
Skipping to you guys finally resting, he places the last dollop of shea butter you had and seductively rubbed your belly as you moaned in your tired state.
That’s what you two have done for the past days, endlessly fucking each other and Bruce feeding you improved meals that you quite enjoyed. Except for when he attempted to make pizza from scratch, he left it on the stove too long (you may have been to blame) so you ordered some Chinese takeout.
Now, Bruce was waking up around 9:30 in the morning, the latest he has ever slept in. With his eyes still closed, he tries to hold you closer to his body but he couldn’t feel you. Opening his eyes, he realized you weren’t in the bed.
He hears you huffing, so he sits up from where he lies to see you trying to put on your shoes.
“Do you have to leave out of bed?” Bruce asked, still enveloped in the blanket you two shared.
“It’s nice to hear how our roles have changed.” You playfully said as you tried to place them on your shoes to no avail.
Bruce laughs and gets out of his position to where you sat, kneeling to put on your shoes.
“C’mon, we just got married a few days ago. Let’s just stay in, watch a movie in the screen room, feed you your favorite fruit.” He seductively said, trailing his finger on your bare leg to your inner thigh.
You shiver from his touch, feeling your heart race.
“I love to, but not today. I want to finish what I can before I go on maternity leave. Then, I’m all yours for the taking.” You said as Bruce helped you off the chair.
“I love you, you know that right?” He asks.
“Of course I do. Why do you think I married you?” You bite your lip, raising your hand to show the ring that rested on your left hand.
He kisses you quickly, grabbing his robe so he could walk you to your car, You waved goodbye to him and focus your eyes on the road.
Suddenly, the guilt began to eat you up.
You hate lying, but you knew that you had to do this yourself.
You finally arrived at your destination, walked up the stairs of the building, and walked inside.
“Hello! How can I help you?” the teller asked.
“Hi, I’m here to access a bank account under my name.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruce just walked out of your favorite bakery with the desserts you’ve been craving. He uses his free hand to dial your work number.
“Hello?” Akari, your assistant, answered.
“Hi, Akari. Hope you’re doing good. I was just going to let you know I’m stopping by the office to drop my wife some food for her and the rest of the office.
“Thank you so much, Mr. Wayne. I had no idea she was stepping into the office.”
Bruce paused in his tracks.
“She wasn’t supposed to be working today?” he asks.
“No, she told me beforehand that she had to go to the bank-”
Bruce dropped the box of treats on the floor and hung up on your assistant. He ran fast to his car and headed to where he thought you would be: Gotham’s First Bank.
He calls Alfred quickly.
“Master Bruce is everything alri-”
“Alfred, alert the boys! Their mom is in trouble!” Bruce yelled.
Finally, he parked his car on the side of the road, seeing a bunch of police and SWAT cars surround the building.
“Sir, you can’t enter the premise.” An officer tried to turn him away.
“My wife is in there!” Bruce raised his voice, his heart pounding faster not knowing if you were safe or hurt.
“Andrei, let him in,” Barbra said, seeing Bruce.
Andrei lifts the tape over Bruce, who turned his head to the officer.
“What happened?” Bruce asks as he came up to her.
“Someone rang the silent alarm 23 minutes ago, all we know for sure is that there are heavily armed people.”
“Dad? What are you doing here?” Bruce turns around to hear who called him and see it was Dick who looked very worried.
“Your mom’s assistant said that she went to the bank,” Bruce said, his features sharpened.
“What?” Dick said in shock, as he switched his sight to the bank.
“Grayson, don’t even think about it,” Barbara said, knowing that Dick would have run inside to make sure you were ok.
“Lieutenant Gordon, the SWAT team is ready.” an officer shouted in their direction.
Agents left and right swarmed around the building.
Bruce couldn’t think, not when he had no clue if you were okay, hurt, or worse. All he could focus on was the orders being shouted, the alarms, the heightened anxiety.
His phone rings, breaking him out of his state.
He answers it, seeing Tim’s contact.
“Dad!” Tim yelled.
“The SWAT is going inside, making sure-”
“She’s not in there!” Tim screamed again.
“She’s not?” Bruce said out loud.
Dick looks at his dad from his outburst.
The two men step aside from the commotion and place the phone on speaker phone.
“Talk to me, Tim,” Dick said.
“I’m looking at mom’s phone location. It turns out her phone was active twenty minutes earlier, located across from the bank where parking was available.”
Just on cue, Bruce notices that police officer Andrei getting a phone call and leaving in a rush.
Bruce follows him, Dick hot on his trail.
“Why are we following him?” Dick asks.
“The last time I was on patrol, two men entered Dent’s office. One of them was called Andrei.”
Dick could question his father, saying that anyone could share that name.
But when Bruce was furious, he is beyond being reasoned.
The two men follow Andrei until they see him stop by a car.
Your car was crushed from behind.
He takes the opportunity to sneak up on Andrei to throw him against your car door, holding him by the collar. “What did you do with my wife!?”
Realizing who Bruce was, Andrei just smugs at him.
“I didn’t do anything, I was just here to clean up the evidence.”
Bruce, now remembering that was the voice he heard a few weeks ago, was about to punch him until Dick screamed to stop.
Bruce turns around to see Dick crouched on the sidewalk, picking up a broken device.
“Mom’s phone,” he whispered.
The crooked officer laughs.
Bruce punches him across the face, then throws him again against the door roughly.
“Where is she?” Bruce commanded.
“I ain’t no snitch,” Andrei said.
Bruce was about to punch again until Dick held his arm away.
“Dad…” Dick begged.
He knew this wasn’t right. That’s why Dick became a policeman, to bring justice fairly.
Bruce lets his arm down and allows Dick to arrest him.
“I’ll let Babs know and turn him in. Go.” Dick said.
Bruce runs off to his car, now focusing to get you back.
But what happened?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Twenty minutes earlier*
This was it, you finally had it.
Everything that would expose Maroni was in your purse: all the files, recordings, you name it. It was like you were taking a million dollars in your bag, so you walked with purpose to your car. Now, all you had to do was head over to the police department.
A vehicle pulled over behind yours, crashing the tailgate.
The driver came out and looked worried.
“Geez, ma’am I am so sorry. I was too distracted that I didn’t realize I swerved the wrong way.”
“It’s fine, no worries.” You said in a rush, as time was of the essence.
“Allow me to wait with you so a service truck can arrive to tow yours.”
“You don’t need to, I’ll just call for a ride,” You said, already searching in your coat pocket for your phone.
“Whatever you say, Mrs. Wayne.” The man said.
You froze as you were about to open your phone.
You never gave your name to him.
You slowly turned your head and see him revealing a gun by his waist.
“Why don’t you give me the phone?” He says.
You give him your phone as he slams it on the concrete ground, crushing it with his shoe too.
“If you so kindly sit in the back of my car…” he said, coyly.
You carefully walk to his vehicle, where he opened the door so you wouldn’t pull any tricks. You sit down and buckled yourself, too scared to utter anything.
The man sits on his side and looks over his shoulder.
“I would have to make sure that your hands are tied, but the boss said to give you special treatment.
After all, you are his granddaughter.”

Baby [Bale!Bruce Wayne]
Pairing: Christian Bale!Bruce Wayne x Reader
Request: Hi! Could I possibly get a Christian Bale! Batman where reader is his wife and tells him she wants a baby?
Author’s Note: This story takes place at the beginning of “The Dark Knight”.
Tumblr media
Y/N sat in the bed, her knees pulled up to her chin. Rays from an early morning navy blue sky hit her through the window covered room.
It was the third sleepless night she’d had this week and it wasn’t because Bruce was out on Batman duties. It also wasn’t because a murderous, psychopathic clown was causing even more mayhem over Gotham City. No, instead it was over something else. Something she’d managed to shake off two months ago, but now couldn’t ignore any longer.
Everytime she opened her mouth to bring it up, her stomach tightened and body froze. She couldn’t muster enough courage to let the words out and would often say something else or “it’s nothing”.
She heard the knob to the bedroom turn and saw Bruce walk in. A soft, tired smile playing on his lips as he glanced at her.
“What’re you doing up?” he asked.
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “I couldn’t sleep.”
He crawled into the bed bringing her into his arms. “Seems like you’re doing that a lot these days. Are you feeling alright?”
She sighed, snuggling her head deeper into his chest. “I just have a lot on my mind.”
“Anything you want to share with the class?”
She let out of low chuckle. Bruce’s smile faded a bit, realizing Y/N was once again pushing whatever it was that was bothering her away. He’d noticed she was distracted and it went beyond the sleepless nights. Everytime he looked at her or watched her open her mouth to speak, her confidence shifted into fear and anxiety followed by disappointment and defeat.
He would’ve thought after two years of marriage she would feel more than comfortable sharing whatever it was that was bothering her or what was on her mind; however, he supposed some things were harder to say than others.
“Y/N, hon,” he spoke up. “I would hope you know that whatever it is that’s bothering you or keeping you up at night, you can tell me.”
Y/N lifted her head, her chest growing heavy as the knot in her stomach tightened. She sighed, closing her eyes.
“I want a baby.”
She opened one eye to see Bruce smiling at her. Her fears began to diminish, but she remain hesitant to rule anything out.
“Say it again, but I want you to look at me,” he told her.
She opened the other eye, lips pulled back. “Bruce, I want a baby.”
His smile grew larger, heart swelling. “Why didn’t you just tell me?”
Y/N playfully scoffed. “I didn’t know how you’d react! It’s not something like ‘Hey, let’s get a dog’ or something. This is a child. It’s nine months of pregnancy, hours of delivery, and then god knows how long of sleepless nights and then 18 years of being responsible for another human. It’s asking for another commitment among other commitments that you have going on.”
She sighed. “I just didn’t think you’d want one right now or ever.”
Bruce turned over to her, caressing her cheeks in his hands. “How long have we known each other?”
“Four years.”
“How long have we been married?”
“Two.”
“Don’t you think that if I didn’t want kids I would’ve told you or brought it up before we got married?”
“Well we never discussed kids at all before we got married.”
He just smiled, knowing she had a point.
“Alright, fair enough,” he gave in, chuckling. “I do want kids.”
His confirmation was enough to send a massive wave of relief over Y/N. But there was still one issue.
“But what about Batman?”
He shrugged. “We’ll figure it out.”
Her eyebrows furrowed. “Batman can’t just disappear and reappear.”
“But he can. He could even disappear forever.”
She sat up. “You would just give up Batman? No questions asked?”
“The city won’t always need me. Besides, Dent’s doing a great job of clearing out the streets.”
“But he’s not you.”
“He’s what’s best for the city.” He took Y/N’s hands. “I can’t be Batman forever if I’m gonna have a kid who needs me. I could do a good amount in nine months and then take a break.”
She smiled and placed a hand on his cheek, before leaning in to give him a chaste kiss. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Bruce went to pull her under him when Y/N pulled back.
“Are you sure about this?” she asked.
He smiled. “Absolutely.”

The Blood Within Us Chapter 18
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Pregnant! Reader
Summary: Will the reader do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves when tragedy hits the Wayne family? How far will the truth be tested when she realizes she’s not the only one with secrets of her own?
Warning: abduction, mobster activity, labor
Two motorcycles rode in the busy streets. Snow was slowly falling, but soon the roads were almost covered in ice.
The two cyclists parked underneath a bridge and took off their helmets.
“Anything out of the ordinary?” Jason asks.
The other person lets out their ginger locks, shaking his head.
“What are ordinary standards in Gotham City?” Roy Harper asks.
Jason rubs his jaw, releasing a sigh.
“I’m sorry, man. Ever since I heard about my mom, I started to just be in vigilante mode.”
Roy pats his friend’s back.
“Hey, I get it. But you guys are going to find her.”
Jason looks down at his meter. He doesn’t like people giving him false hope. He promised himself that he wouldn’t believe in those loose terms. If he lost you, there was no going back to his sanity.
Roy realized what he said may have triggered Jay, so he got off his bike to talk.
“We’re not strangers to losing people, especially in this line of work. But didn’t we have that strong optimism as kids? You know, ‘Speedy and Robin: the sidekicks of tomorrow?’”
Jason snickers. It felt just like yesterday, they met at a justice league meeting, and how they just bonded. They shared stories of how Roy stole Oliver’s wallet and Jason met Bruce by stealing his tires from the batmobile.
“I think you mean, ‘Robin and Speedy: boys in tights.’”
Roy laughs out loud, as his breath was visible in the air.
“I know it’s hard to think back when we were just kids, but we were so hopeful for the future. You need to think like that for your mom. She never lost hope in you, in any of us. So let’s not lose sight of getting her back, ok?”
Jason smiles and hugs Roy, internally thanking him. Jason needed to be motivated, to stay hopeful for you and his unborn sister.
Suddenly, Jason feels his phone buzz and he pulls it out.
“Tim?” Jason asks.
“Get back to the cave, Dick and Damian are coming back with intel,” Tim said through the phone.
“On it, be there less than 10.” Jason said, already hopping on his motor.
“Thank you, for everything.” Jason stated, looking at Roy.
“Just doing my job.” Roy smirked before he rode off in the distance. Jason started his motor and rode to the cave.
Once he arrived, he already throwing his helmet to god know’s where. He heads toward how his brothers and Alfred.
“Alright, what’s going on?” Jason asks.
“From our intel, Mom is being held at the old Gotham Hotel. It’s been shut down for the past 60 years due to illegal activity, according to old police records.” Dick said.
Tim pulls up a holographic 3D model of the building.
“Not only do we have to look out for any of the security, but a lot of people are wanting to hurt Dent by bidding on mom.” Tim said, a bit grim.
“What!?” Jason screamed.
“Restrain your anger, it will lead you nowhere.” Damian said as he sat in the corner.
“He’s right. None of you are able to get her back if your minds are not clear.” Alfred said.
Jason was about to say something until he scanned the room.
“Where’s Bruce?” He asks.
No one replied yet, but soon they turn their heads to hear boots walking toward them.
There stood their father, wearing his uniform.
His gloved hands held his mask. He doesn’t say a word as he passed the boys and stood at the end of the table.
He looks at them then back at the 3D model, already taking charge.
“I need eyes on the perimeter, someone to scout how many people we’re dealing with at the roof.”
“I’ll do it.” Dick said.
“Tim, I’ll task you to get mom. Find the nearest exit and take her to the mobile.”
Tim nods as he makes his way to change.
“There’s going to be guns blazing so I need some muscle on the ground.”
“On it.” Jason and Damian said in unison.
“Okay, let’s get them back.” Bruce commanded as he slipped on his mask.
All the sons leave to get ready, turning around as the worry for their father began to grow.
Tim returns, already in uniform. He looks uneasy as he approaches Bruce who was about to step onto the mobile.
“What do I do if one of us find Dent?” He asks.
Bruce looks over his shoulder.
“You’ll know what to do. I trust you.” Bruce said before jumping into his seat.
“How about you?” Dick said, joining them.
Bruce’s features harden.
“Bruce, whatever you’re thinking, it’s not right. We have to turn Maroni in the right way.” His eldest urged.
Bruce didn’t reply, his mind already set in his dark ways. Dick turns around, trying to find any support from his brothers to change their father’s mind. Damian places his katana in his sheath and runs up to the car, jumping in the seat. He shares a quick glance to Dick, letting him know that he’ll look out for their father. Dick nods his head and backs away from the car as it speeds away toward the exit.
Dick looks back to Jason and Tim who also look a bit hopeless. Grayson takes a deep breath, putting on his mask.
“We have one mission to do: save mom and the baby.”
The ride with Bruce was silent. He never stopped once while he drove, not even for the roads that were closed down.
Damian didn’t dare turn his head to Bruce, but he knows what he looks like: bloodthirsty. Damian knew the feeling, he felt like that every day of his young life.
“You’re worried I’m going to kill him, aren’t you?” Bruce asks out loud, breaking the glass.
Damian just stares at his hands.
“I don’t blame you, I’d do it too if I had the chance.” Damian mutters, feeling sick to his stomach as you’re out there alone.
Bruce looks at his son who looked conflicted.
“Your mom saved me, many times. Whether it be coming back to her with broken bones or a heavy heart, she took care of me… even when I don’t deserve her.”
Dami looks out the window, feeling like a helpless child.
“She’s more of a hero than any of us were.”
Bruce returned his attention to the road, his hands grabbing hard onto the steering wheel.
“She is.”
--------------------------
You and Harvey were forced back into a musty kitchen in the back of the banquet room. All of the guards were either outside guarding the area or counting in the people for the bid. You’ve felt more defeated than ever, especially as Maroni forced you to look at him and burn all of the evidence.
Harvey hasn’t said much either. He hasn’t even looked at you until now.
You were staring at your wedding ring as you were still tied to the chair. You’d think that one of the guards would take it from you, but you think they’d pity you a bit.
“Why am I here? I’m supposed to be protecting my daughter, and now I’m here, risking her life. What kind of mother am I?” You asked yourself, feeling your tears stain your face.
“You don’t have her eyes.” Harvey said.
“What?” you ask.
“Maroni was wrong when he said you looked like his daughter, I don’t even think he took a glance at you when you were born.” Harvey said.
“I don’t want to hear about her right now.” You said, looking away, feeling the past trauma wash over you like a tsunami.
Harvey looks up to you, his features changing. It was like he was turning paternal.
“You’re better than me, better than her, better than all of us. I can’t imagine anyone else that’s selfless and compassionate like you. I mean, who raised four boys for ten years and loved them as your own?” he asks.
You lightly snicker.
“They’re a bit hard to handle, but I’d do anything for my sons.” You said.
“And I know for a fact that they’re looking for you right now, especially that husband of yours. He’s been fighting for you all this time.”
You look down at your ring again, feeling heavier than before.
“I went behind his back, I promised him I’d wait but-”
“You wanted to get back at him, for what he did to you… for what all of us did to you.”
You stare at Harvey, shocked. Not because his words were cruel, but because it was the truth.
“You’ve been hurting for the longest time, and you shouldn’t be answering for my crimes. I’m going to get you out of here, and you’re going to take Maroni down.” He said.
“With what? He burned all the evidence.” You said.
“Not all of it.” He said, opening his closed fist and showing off a memory card.
Your eyes widen. “How... What…” You try asking.
“I knew that paper files could be easily disposed of, so I made all of my copies in here. I forgot I made it until Maroni spilled all the files on his table and I saw the card fumbling down. I faked that I was going to charge him so I could reach the ground and took the beating. You’re not the only actor in this family.”
You laugh, forming a small smile.
It was short-lived as you grunt lightly, hunching over.
“Are you alright?” He asks.
You nod your head, closing your eyes as you inhaled sharply.
“I’ll be fine. Just the stress catching up to me.” You lied.
Harvey didn’t buy it one bit, but he knew not to push too far.
The doors pushed open and two guards walk side by side with Maroni, who looked too happy.
“It’s a full house tonight. I’d love for both of you to attend if that’s alright.” He says cruelly.
You both don’t answer, but the guards forced you out of your chairs and walked you out.
Once you enter the banquet hall, your senses are heightened as half of the room were full of crooks, corrupted politicians, and foes of Gotham. They turned their heads as you came into the room, only displaying a sinister smile. You and Harvey were separated as he was kept to the side. A guard takes you to the stage and forces you on your knees, making you wince as you probably scrapped them.
Maroni claps his hands in delight, grabbing the attention of the room.
“Friends, allow me to introduce to you the spawn of your enemy.” He announced.
A grumble spreads around the room, some surprised or impressed. You felt you were an attraction at a circus, people watching you with vicious eyes and cold hearts. Soon your ringmaster turns to you temporarily, more villainous than any man breathing in this room.
“Let the chaos begin.”
After his statement, there was a sound that pattered across the floor, like someone dropped a metal sphere. It stopped in its place, then it exploded in a puff of smoke. The whole room yelled, almost as if someone was fighting others.
You held your breath, knowing what was happening. You know the mysterious gadgets that can go undetected in the public eye.
Maroni gets angry, trying to order his men to clear the smoke.
Suddenly, out came a man cloaked and masked. No one could see the majority of his face, but you did…
It was full of rage.
“Batman.” Maroni mutters under his breath, almost afraid.
Out of the shadows came out Red Hood, Nightwing, and Robin. A few men tried to take them down, but the young men knocked them out in seconds.
You hear someone landing behind you and see Red Robin in the corner of your eye.
“Are you ok?” he whispers as he cuts off your restraints.
You frantically turned your head around, suddenly realizing the disappearance of important people.
“They’re, they’re missing.” You stuttered as Tim released your restraints.
“You’re going through some shock. We need you to get out of here right now.” Tim said as he helps you to stand. Tim looks up, seeing how the fight hasn’t died down.
With you and the baby to worry about, Tim felt overwhelmed. You guys couldn’t make a run for it, especially since you weren’t 100% at strength. You begin to whimper at his side, holding your abdomen.
Nearby, Dick kicks a goon in his stomach. He sees his brothers fighting as well as his father facing Toyman. He scans to the end of the room and sees Tim holding his mother who looked like she was in pain. He quickly runs toward them.
“What’s wrong?” Dick asks.
“We need a clearing for her to get out.” Tim says.
“I- don’t think we can…” you panted, screaming again in pain.
Bruce turned around, hearing you. He doesn’t realize that the Toyman threw out a jack in the box until Jason joined his side and knocked it back to him. Bruce looks at his son in gratitude and focuses on the situation.
“She can’t stay in here.” Bruce said, his mind racing as all he could think was you.
Something broke inside of him broke. The way you were standing there in pain, it was like he was repeating the same day he chose to leave you. He promised you he’ll leave you again.
And he’s going to stick with his promise.
He decided to run towards you without wasting another second, fighting anyone that got in his way. Jason got his back and he was hot on his tail. They finally arrived to you in time as you were heaving. Bruce came closer as he took you in his arms and held you close. You were basically crying at this point, but you couldn’t tell if it was because of the pain or that he was here.
“Maroni has him somewhere, he has the drive for the evidence.” you uttered out before pain waived over your body, making you double over. Bruce holds you steady and decides to carry you in his arms, making you press your face in his chest while you hung onto him.
“Look for them and find the drive. This ends tonight.” Bruce said to his kids.
“The nearest hospital is two hours away including the snow. I don’t think mother’s able to make it.” Damian announced.
As if on cue, you whimper in Bruce’s arms. He looks down at you, feeling his heartbreak to see you like this.
He looks up to his sons who look worried. “Can you make a clearing for us?” Bruce asks. All of them nod their heads and turn to their opponents that were collecting themselves. They make a path for Bruce to run out and successfully made it out of the banquet hall.
“Hold on tight.” he whispers in your ear as he feels your grip get stronger. He aims his grappling hook into the sky and releases, getting hooked onto the ceiling You two flew straight up, away from the fight. Bruce swings his body to jump right onto an opening on the top floor and lands on his feet, as both hands are now carrying you again. He looks straight and charges to a door, kicking it down.
Bruce quickly walks in and searches for a bed in what appeared as the suite that looked untouched. He makes his way to the mattress and lets you sit on the edge of the bed. Your face turned more red and patchy, and your skin glistened from sweat.
“Hey, hey… look at me, darling.” Bruce bent down and took off his mask.
“Br-Bruce your mask-” you said, worried someone could walk in.
“I don’t care. All I care about is you and Lily.”
You begin to silently sob as your husband dries your tears.
“I’m so sorry. This wouldn’t have happened if i-” you release a blood-curdling scream, crouching forward.
He takes your hands and let’s you squeeze it, not caring if you break them.
“Don’t be sorry. I should be apologizing, for everything i’ve done to you. I’ve been lying to you since the start and you’re only here to make things right. You should have never felt like you had to this alone.”
Your eyes begin to water. “I’m scared Bruce,” you whispered, slightly trembling.
“I’m right here, and i’m not going anywhere.” he said.
You were about to say something until you felt an uncomfortable feeling. You grabbed Bruce’s arms, unable to speak as the pain intensify.
Bruce looks down and slightly pales, seeing that your water has broken.
“Baby, it’s time.” Bruce softly said as he helps you recline by the headrest. You shake your head, feeling too overwhelmed.
“No, I want to go home. I can’t do this here.” you cried more.
Bruce connects your foreheads together, as he started to tear up.
“I know, but you can do this, okay? Soon we’re going to have our daughter in our arms, and nothing will take that away from us.”
You look up to bruce who smiles at you, giving you the love you always needed.
“Ok…” You whisper.
He smiles at you and kisses your lips, then goes to your end.
"On the count of 3?" he asks.
You nod your head as you feel a contraction begin to take over your body.
"1, 2, 3, Push!"

The Blood Within Us Chapter 17
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Pregnant! Reader
Summary: Will the reader do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves when tragedy hits the Wayne family? How far will the truth be tested when she realizes she’s not the only one with secrets of her own?
Warning: abduction, mobster activity
It was nice traveling out to San Fransisco. It was so vibrant around the west coast, as it was full of life and energy.
Bruce flew you and Jason out as he was helping the Teen Titans with a case relating to Deathstroke.
He can tell most of the team members’ morale was down. It was a tough case and Dick felt like he brought everyone down.
Bruce suggested that everyone should take a break. They were just kids, and treating everyone to the city’s amusement park was a good decision.
“Mom, c’mon!” your sons screamed for you as they were heading out with their friends.
You laugh at their reaction. It’s been a couple of weeks since your two sons have seen each other since Dick moved to lead the Titans. You’re happy that they’re having fun.
“What are you thinking?” Bruce asked out loud as he came with huge cotton candy in hand.
You turn around, snickering.
“I thought today was for the kids?” You ask.
He rolls his eyes playfully.
“Somebody told me that they wanted this.” He teased.
“And I thank you, good sir.” You replied, taking the snack out of his hands into your own as you two walked side by side.
You walk around a bit until you realized that there’s no line for the Ferris wheel. You two decided to ride on it as you cuddled in your seat.
“You still haven’t answered my question from earlier.” Bruce said.
You give a soft chuckle as you look down at the Titans that were huddled nearby.
“I’m just glad we’re here together. But, they’re growing up so fast and they have their own lives. It feels like it’s been a long time since we felt like a family.” You said.
Bruce looks down, to see what you meant.
Jason was hanging out with Roy Harper, eating hot dogs near the vendor. Dick was flirting with Kory as they got off the carousel.
He doesn’t understand what’s eating you up until you look at a young couple pushing a stroller across the boardwalk.
He looks back at you, seeing your saddened eyes.
“You want a baby…” Bruce slowly says.
You exhale slowly, knowing you can never hide what you’re feeling with your boyfriend.
“Maybe? I don’t know yet. I mean, it felt like yesterday I was signing the adoption papers for the boys. I won’t trade that for anything. But, I just started thinking that having a baby would be exciting too. Finding onesies, changing diapers, helping them walk and speak dada… I just thought that maybe both of us can raise a baby, together.”
Bruce is silent. You turn away, thinking you’re an idiot.
“I’m sorry, you must think I’m crazy. We’re not even married and I’m already suggesting that we should try for a b-”
You got cut off as Bruce held onto the sides of your face and gives you a serious stare.
“I don’t think you’re crazy.” He whispered.
You take hands and place them where his hands were.
“Really?” You ask.
He smiles and laughs softly, staring at your beautiful features under the night lights.
“You don’t know how much I want that too. I can just imagine us growing a family together. And don’t doubt for a second that I want to marry you.”
You blush from his words as the two of you lower your hands but are now intertwined near your laps.
“I feel like there’s a catch.” You state.
He pauses for a moment, trying to find the right words to say.
“Last month when Arthur Curry’s baby son got kidnapped by one of his enemies, it gave me this fear. I know our kids will fight their way out but what if that happened to a baby we’ll have? Every night when I go out as Batman, I make more enemies. I don’t want them destroying the very thing I love the most: my family.”
You both hold each other closer, realizing so many dangers that lurk in the future.
“I don’t want that either.”
“Hey,” Bruce said, his pointer guiding your chin to look at him.
“I want us to try having kids. Just now, I’m not ready.”
You nod your head, understanding where he’s coming from.
Suddenly, you all come to a halt at the top of the Ferris wheel. You look down and see all the titans wooing at you, chanting for you guys to kiss. Jason and Dick react disgustingly, but secretly they adore you and Bruce’s love for each other.
You both laugh and turn to each other, blushing. Bruce leans in for a kiss and your lips met. A bunch of hilarious teenage screams was heard, but they soon ceased.
It all started to fade out: the teens' screeches, the loud music, everything.
Bruce can hear his name being called but was not ready to let go of you yet.
“Master Bruce.”
Bruce’s memory a few years ago fades away as he realizes what he was doing now.
Finding you.
Jason, Tim, and Damian were all in the cave, trying to research where you could pe.
Bruce then looks up to see Alfred, who looked worried.
“Shall I alert the League members?” Alfred asks.
“No, we need to do this on our own. Anything rash can put her and the baby in harm’s way.” Bruce said, looking down at the folded sonogram picture he’s had the past several months.
In the background, Tim was typing away on the monitor to find what he was looking for.
“Maroni has at least five safe houses under his name, all miles away from Gotham.”
“He would be a fool to bring mother there, any police would be surrounding the area,” Damian said, striking out the idea.
“Well, we need to find something. Time isn’t on our side.” Jason stated.
“He’s right, Maroni will be asking for demands,” Dick said as he entered the cave.
Bruce gets up from his chair, going up to his eldest.
“Any luck?” Bruce asks.
“Andrei’s not talking, we thought it’ll be a dead end. Luckily, Babs said that a lot of officers are missing, so we assume that they’re on Maroni’s payroll. If he’s wanting muscle, then he might be going somewhere big.”
“Then let’s narrow down to any warehouses that are in a 30-minute radius, you and Damian can look into that. Jason, I want you to hit the streets and see if you can track any of the cars of the dirty cops. Tim, try to look at any security footage around the area of the bank robbery.”
All of the siblings dispersed in different directions. The brothers fear that something may happen, but they try not to think of the worse.
Bruce goes to the monitor, trying to stare at the screen for clues.
But he couldn’t.
“Master Bruce, you’ll find her,” Alfred reassured him.
Bruce just bows his head down.
“Why didn’t she trust me, Alfred? I promised her that we’ll find him together, and she just went by herself. I don’t know if something happened to the baby, I don’t know if she’s okay or hurt, I…” Bruce can’t even fathom anything else.
There’s silence, but Alfred speaks up.
“Maybe she went on her own because you did too.”
Bruce looks up, stunned to hear what Alfred.
But it was the truth. Bruce decided his fate, resulting in his family thinking he’s dead to protect them. It wasn’t right, but he felt it was the only way.
And now, you did the same thing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You felt your breath thinning as you were in the back of the car.
The windows were tinted inward and there was a divider split between you and the man who took you so you couldn’t make sense of where you were.
Your mind was filled with anxiety, and the safety of you and your baby was uncertain. You felt her kick and you try to soothe your hand over your belly, but it didn’t work.
Suddenly, the car stopped and the driver opened your side.
“Let’s take you inside, Mrs. Wayne. It gets cold out here.” He said.
You get out as he holds your arm for you to follow him. You look around your surroundings, realizing you were at an abandoned hotel. It looked like it was older than you, and you couldn’t make sense of the faded sign that was displayed by the building.
There were men in suits surrounding the hotel, all fully loaded with weapons. They didn’t mind the sudden snowfall that fell on their shoulders, but you felt like you were getting cold by the second.
You were rushed inside to the lobby as the man who held you went up to another man who had a dark gray suit.
“Tell the boss I have her.” Your captor said.
The other man looks at you as you bow down your head.
“Had she had anything else on her?” the guy in the gray suit asked.
“Just her bag, I think it’s just some paperwork she kept.” The captor said, placing it on the table beside you.
You internally sigh in relief, realizing they don't know what the papers were actually for.
“I’ll take it where the old coat room is.”
“But what about the boss?” your captor impatiently asks again.
“He’s in a meeting right now. Put her in with the other one till he gets out.” the other man said.
He grabbed your arm again as he took you to an old elevator and brought you to the sixth floor. It was as armed by two men as they walk different ways on the wing. The man unlocks the door and shoves you inside as you fall on your knee.
“Have a fun reunion, maybe the only one you’ll get.” He says before slamming the door.
“Reunion?” you whisper to yourself.
“They think they’re funny, but they’re all idiots around here. Maroni is too broke to hire real guards.” a voice said out loud.
You turn around to see who spoke to you, your eyes widening.
“It’s you.”
The man pops out from the shadows, looking like hell as half of his unscarred face had minor cuts and bruises.
“In the flesh.” Harvey Dent said.
You look at him, seeing how he sits on a lounge chair. He winces a bit, grabbing his left side as he shifts.
“You’re not supposed to be here” He hissed through his pain as he got up, standing up.
“Neither should you.” You said, trying to get up as best as you could. Harvey goes up to you, then pauses.
He looked… scared like he didn’t know what to do. You realized that this was the first time a glass panel didn’t separate you two.
You hesitantly lift your hand in the air as a sign he could help you and lift you to your feet.
You decide to sit on the edge of the bed, taking a deep breath.
“How, how are you here?” You ask.
“I was trying to make a deal with the PD for my knowledge of certain crimes tied to a lot of men worse than me. I was stupid enough to not think that Maroni had a snitch, so they broke me out of Arkham before I could spill. And now they’re beating me to a pulp till I talk.”
You look uneasy, fiddling your ring finger.
“And they’ll get answers of where you hid everything.” you finished.
“How do you know about that?” Harvey hostility asks.
You try to avoid eye contact with him. Even if he was out of practice, Harvey was a skilled attorney. He could crack the truth from you before you even blinked.
“You have no men or resources to break yourself out, so someone did to get back at you. Any person who was smart enough could figure it out. And I know you, you needed evidence so the police had probable cause to arrest Maroni.”
“You don’t know me, or who Maroni is.” he spat.
“I know he’s my grandfather.” You said.
Harvey stays silent for a moment. He takes a seat far away from you, daring not to look at you.
You made your hands into fists on each side as your eyes were stunned from tears.
“I know he tried forcing you to stay with his daughter, my biological mother. And when you knew you couldn’t play this charade, you collected everything that could send him away for life. I know he threatened you that he’ll hurt me if you did anything out of line. So you left, leaving me the one thing that could bring him down: a bank account that came with a safe.”
That triggered him to look up at you. “I heard his men talking about a bank robbery, were you hurt?” He asks.
“No, I left before they came. But everything is in my purse in the coat room. I-I don’t know what to do, I had this plan to get you back and now I messed up everything.” You said, choking on your words.
Your breathing became worse as you felt your baby under stress.
“Hey, hey look at me,” Harvey said, getting out of his chair and sitting down next to you.
By reflex, you hold his hand tight. He was shocked but he doesn’t say anything, allowing you to breathe first.
Once you settled down, Harvey was the first to speak.
“Look, you’re going to be alright, ok? No one is going to hurt you or your baby. And come to think of it, Maroni needs you alive than dead.”
“What?” You ask.
Harvey takes a deep breath.
“I mentioned earlier that Maroni is broke. It’s been under the radar, but every man wanting blood knows he’s not invincible anymore. He’s most likely keeping you here as ransom. And now that you’re married to Gotham’s billionaire…” he says.
“He wants to get out of the city before people get to him.” You finish.
“Bingo,” Harvey replies.
You stand up, slowly pacing.
“That means we have the upper hand.” You whispered to yourself.
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. May I remind you that you’re heavily pregnant and I was almost beaten half to death?” He asks rhetorically.
“No, we can make this work. Maroni can’t make a public announcement if he wants to deal with the police. I can make a deal with him and transfer my shared account if I had access online. If he’s that desperate for money, he’ll take it.”
“I’m not risking that chance,” Harvey said, getting up.
“It’s the only one we got. Look, sending a transaction like that can alert my husband’s shared account. He’ll know how to ping the location from a laptop and send help. Please, we have to at least try.”
Harvey stays quiet for a moment.
“Fine. We’ll do it your way. But we need to have a backup plan in case he doesn’t through this act.”
“Lucky for you, I can be quite the actress.” You stated.
He almost laughs at your joke, but he stops himself.
You’re about to say something until the door opened wide.
The person who took you had armed men on both sides. He gives you a very evil grin.
“Let’s meet the boss, shall we? He’s been dying to meet you.”
The men took you and Harvey by the arm and guided you to the banquet room.
With each step, you felt your heart pounding. You felt queasy to the bone. It was almost like you were walking to the devil’s door.
The doors opened and revealed armed men lined near the windows. In the middle was an old man, lighting a cigar.
Once you saw him, you realized it was Maroni.
You and Harvey were forced to sit on the opposite side of the table. Maroni takes a puff and looks at you.
“Well, aren’t you two a sight for sore eyes.” He quips.
You don’t look up until he snaps his fingers, letting a guard grab your jaw to make eye contact with you.
“You have your mother’s eye,” Maroni says in disbelief.
“Don’t ever compare me to that woman.” you gritted out.
Maroni laughs, leaning in his chair. “You’re feisty, must come in through your father’s side.”
Harvey grinds his teeth, trying his best not to say something that will trigger Maroni.
“I didn’t care for your mother either; my only flesh and blood turned into quite the disappointment. I’m glad I threw her out. But you…” He gets up from his seat, walks to where you sat, and sat on the edge of his desk.
“You became quite the businesswoman. Already have national branches before the age of 27 and just recently got married to the world’s biggest billionaire. Mazel tov by the way.” He says as he takes another puff.
“You’ve been keeping tabs on me?” You ask.
“Well of course I have! We’re family, you and me. I have to watch out for my only granddaughter: where she works, where she lives, where she makes her errands to… specifically a bank I’ve been targeting.” He hints.
Another man walks into the room with your purse and throws the contents on the desk.
Maroni picks up one of the files and whistles, smirking.
“Though you won this time, didn’t you Dent? I was in no rush to punish you, you left your only child behind and half your face burned off because of well, me.” He laughs to himself.
His laugh was wicked, making you want your nails in your palm.
“You don’t scare me, Maroni." Harvey said out loud.
Maroni’s face drops and slowly walks to Harvey.
“You should be.”
Now it was Harvey’s turn to chuckle, then dragged on to a humorous laugh.
“You have no power over me, shoot me for all I care and burn the evidence. But your men should find out that you’re broke and that you’re just some desperate old man who’s trying to dry out her granddaughter’s bank account to fly out to some tiny island as a retirement gift.”
Maroni doesn’t say anything yet.
“Who said I was going to hurt you?”
Just on cue, two men hold you down tying you to the chair. You try fighting them off but it's no use.
Maroni now walks around you. “You see… I never was satisfied after I let you go, Dent. I really, really want to hurt you bad. But how could I? You lost your career, your title, your marriage, your reputation. Nothing could fulfill the humanity that’s in that empty heart of yours. But, one of my men reported back to me that a young woman started to visit you a few months ago. When I found out that it was my long-lost granddaughter, well I couldn’t pass a great opportunity!”
“What are you going to do?” you ask.
“Glad you ask. You see, I’m not the only one out for Dent. He made much far greater enemies than me. Even before he became two face, which is a crappy name, by the way, did much more damage as an attorney. Does the name Winslow Schott ring a bell to you, Harvey?”
Dent sits in his chair, his past now haunting him.
“Winslow was a man my age, better than me in morals. The news said that he was going to make a difference in bringing joy to kids by making hand-crafted toys. When he couldn’t afford the capital, Bruno Manheim was his ticket to his dream. But, Bruno used the business as a front and left town for Winslow to take the fall. Your father over here crossed examine the dear old man with evidence that proved that all contracts and property were in Mr. Schott’s name. The judge gave him a 10-year sentence and died before parole, leaving a young little boy behind. How sad is that?” Maroni says.
You stare at Harvey who looked almost broken. “I- I didn’t mean to…” Harvey whispers to himself.
“Now, that young little boy is the self-acclaimed Toy Man from Metropolis. He’s heading now to Gotham, like others you hurt to place their bid on your biggest prize Harv.” Maroni says, looking at you.
“No, No STOP.” Harvey screamed, trying to get out of his chair but the guards took hold of him, punching him across the face. Harvey is now on the ground, groaning.
Maroni lifts Harvey’s head to stare up at your crying state.
“I just wanted to show your daughter the real you before she’s taken away from you once again. I guess all that money that’s bid will get me to that trip you suggested. I heard the Bahamas are great at this time of year.” Maroni concluded before walking out with his guards to prepare for the auction.
Silence filled the air, except for Harvey’s grunts and your soft cries.
“How many people have you hurt?” You ask.
“Too many to count.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dick was confused as to why Damian asked to follow him to a random address in their civilian clothes. But when Dami said he may get a lead to find mom, Dick grabbed his keys and they were speeding their way to get there without a second thought.
Once they arrived, Damian got out of the car and made his way to the alley, jumping up to a fire escape and climbing upwards.
“So, aren’t you going to tell me who are we meeting?” Dick asks.
Damian doesn’t say anything, so Dick just decided to be quiet and trust his brother for the time being.
They arrived at the roof of the building. Damian looked like he had his guard up as his hands were in his pocket.
“So, you brought the older one.” a voice said out loud.
Dick whips his head to see where the voice came from.
“I wanted some backup in case you pulled your tricks of yours,” Damian said, not moving.
The person comes out, looking like her usual self but with a few burns that decorated her face.
“Is that the way to talk to your mother, Damian?” Talia Al Ghul asks.
Dick was about to fight her until Damian got in his way.
“Why are we here with her?” Dick asks.
“Because we need her,” Damian says.
Dick doesn’t look convinced, so Damian explained.
“She reached out to me the night of the wedding. I didn’t want to talk but she said she’ll do anything just to see me one last time. I know you’re trying to do justice the right way, but this is our only chance to find mom, Dick. Please.” Damian asked.
It was out of the ordinary for this kid to beg, but everyone has been on edge with your disappearance.
“Fine, once she tells us what we need, we’ll leave immediately.” He says.
The two brothers turn to Talia.
“So, what’s your price?” Dick asks.
“Can’t a mother just see her son before she leaves?”
Dick takes a step forward, looking serious.
“Tell us what you know about where our mom is.”
“Let me speak to my son alone for five minutes, then we have a deal.” she demanded.
Dick looks over to Dami who doesn’t react.
“Done.” the youngest mutters.
The eldest slowly moves away out of earshot for the two to talk.
“You’re going away?” Dami asks, a bit hurt.
Talia hesitates, not expecting to hear such emotion from her son.
“I’m just here to collect my belongings. I haven’t left the greatest impression on this city nine months ago, to be exact.” She says.
“All because of a stupid necklace.” he whispers, only for her to hear.
“I do not need you to understand, your grandfather only heard stories of it. But when we finally understood its power, we could have asked anything and bent this reality for ourselves.”
“What were you going to wish, on the Chaos Shard?” Damian asks.
Talia kneels to her son’s level, so they can be in eyesight.
“To be a family again.”
Dami lowers his head, eyes brimming.
“I don’t think we were ever that.” he says.
Talia exhales.
“I know.”
Dami looks up, a bit shocked. This was Talia Al Ghul, a ruthless woman who served her father and cared for nothing else. How can she be so cruel, yet show a glimpse of humanity?
“When your father made his presence to me on the day we were supposed to use the shard, all he could do was say your name. He said that if I bent this world to my liking, everything you loved would be gone. I couldn’t do that to you, not again. So when the Chaos Shard was destroyed, I decided to leave everything behind: my father, the league, all I was shaped to become. But I couldn’t leave you until I said goodbye.”
Dami wipes his tears on his sleeve and looks at her.
“I’m supposed to hate you. You almost took away the people that I loved. But my mom told me once that I’m the only son in my family who has both birth parents, and that I shouldn’t take it for granted. But she also told me that I can choose my family. You are still my mother, but I can’t forgive you… not yet.”
Talia’s features become softer, almost sad.
“I understand.”
As if on cue, Dick pops out from the corner and joins the two.
“Five minutes passed.” He said.
“Very well, I’ll tell you everything,” Talia said, getting up.
“Sal Maroni has both your mother and Two Face at the old Gotham Hotel.”
“That place has been abandoned for the past 40 years.” Dick said.
“Indeed, but it's the only place where people want to get even with Mr. Dent by bidding on his daughter.”
Both kids got scared.
“How do know about this?” Dami asks.
“Mr. Maroni contacted every villain who has cash. I did not want to partake in this and thought you and your family had the right to know.”
“Damn right we do.” Dick said, pulling up his phone.
“I’m calling Bruce, let’s head out.” Dick said, already making a run for it.
Damian was about to leave until he looked back at the woman who made him.
“Will I ever see you again?” he asks.
Talia gives him a small smile.
“I will be always watching over you, my son.”
Damian gives her the same smile as he ran after his brother into his car.
“Dad, they’re both at the old Gotham Hotel. Maroni is placing bids on mom to get back at Dent. A lot of bad guys are there to get blood.”
“Head to the cave, Tim told Jason to drive back as well.” Bruce urgently said.
“There’s no time for the police to head over there. What are we going to do, father?” Damian asks.
Back at the cave, Bruce looks over at the capsules that contained each uniform of his sons and his own Dark Knight.
“We’ll fight to get her home.”

The Blood Within Us Chapter 15
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Pregnant! Reader
Summary: Will the reader do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves when tragedy hits the Wayne family? How far will the truth be tested when she realizes she’s not the only one with secrets of her own?
Warning: signs of depression, pregnancy, past abandonment, mentions of alcohol
It was a nice November morning. It wasn’t too chilly outside and the sun was brightly shining.
Today was the perfect day for a wedding.
The Wayne Manor slowly started to fill in, bustling with caterers and early guests. The ceremony was going to be outside and then the festivities were going to be held in the banquet room.
The flowers were decorated, the musicians were tuning their instruments, and the chairs were all aligned to see where you and Bruce would exchange your vows.
The Wayne Family was getting ready themselves.
The boys were steaming their suits, chattering lightly about the whole wedding.
Dick just arrived, not noticing his hair was a mess and his eyes bewildered.
“Where did you come from, a wind tunnel?” Tim asked, buttoning his shirt.
“I - um…” Dick muttered, trying to say at least something.
“Brother can’t even muster out a lie.” Damian said, using a lint roller on his suit.
“I know where he came from: rhymes with Dory.” Jason said, laughing.
“Dude. Really not necessary.” Dick said, smacking Jason's head.
“Please comb your hair though, you know how your mother will fix it before she walks down the aisle.” a voice said, making the boys turn around to see their father in his tux that matched the rest of his son and his tie undone.
“You got lipstick on your neck.” Bruce whispered, offering Dick a hankerchief that he gradually took.
“You didn’t see mother, did you? I heard it’s bad luck to see the bride before the ceremony” Damian asked, as he was fixing his bow tie.
Bruce chuckles as he bends down to help Damian. “She’s in the guest room getting ready,” he said.
Bruce never believed in those superstitions, as he begged you not to escape the bed before it hit midnight. You said that you needed to, as you had to wake up early to do your hair and makeup. You left the bedroom then, and Bruce hasn’t seen you since.
There was a knock on the door and they announced everyone was decent.
“Hey Bruce?” All the boys turn around to see Dinah in her bridesmaid’s dress with a glass of orange juice.
“Mind if we talk outside?” She asks, looking a bit worryingly.
Bruce walks up to her, knowingly.
He turns back to his sons, giving them a sympathetic look. They don’t say anything, but they know their dad will make everything ok.
Bruce closes the door behind him and divides his attention to Dinah
“Is she alright?” he asked.
Dinah hesitates and looks down.
“She hasn’t spoken a word since I came, and it looks like she’s been crying all night. I know the two of you love each other deeply, but I want her to feel happy when she walks down that aisle to marry you.” She said.
“The beautician left a few minutes ago and I got her something to drink but, I think it's best you give it to her and the two of you talk.” Dinah said as she gives him the cup.
“Thank you, for everything.” Bruce said. You and Dinah had such a close friendship since he introduced you two to each other.
“In my time of knowing you guys, you bring the best out of each other. Now go to your girl.” She smiles as Bruce leaves.
He then arrives at your door.
“Darling?” he asks, not hearing a response.
“Dinah gave me orange juice for you to drink. I hope this isn’t your first breakfast.”
It was still silent. Bruce leans back on the door, sighing.
“Please, I can’t go on today thinking you’re not okay.”
A beat continues until he hears the door unlock. Bruce gets to his feet and you slowly open the door, not enough where he sees your face.
Your hand is out to grasp the cup.
“I had breakfast this morning, I’m not walking down the aisle with an empty stomach.”
Bruce can’t help but chuckle as he offers the glass to your hand.
You step away from the door, walking behind the dressing divider so you wouldn’t see Bruce. You hear his footsteps coming closer to you, making your heart beat faster.
“You read his journal, haven’t you?” Bruce asked.
You exhale from your nose as you look at the book that was in your lap.
“I couldn’t sleep last night, so I thought about reading something from his entries. He was there, Bruce. He saw me in the station the day my mom died. He almost wanted to take me home but he knew he couldn’t. So he called his aunt to be my guardian.
Half of my lifetime, I’ve been despising him. I thought he was a monster but it turns out he was protecting me from them. How can I be so cruel to my own dad?”
Bruce didn’t know what to say.
Yes, Two Face was a criminal. But he was Harvey Dent in a way, he just wasn’t the same after Maroni splashed that acid on his face ten years ago.
He hears you crying and he couldn’t take it any loger. He walks closer to the divider, pushing it aside.
You look up with wide teary eyes as you sit on a chair in your silk robe.
You wanted to scold him, saying that something bad would happen if he saw you.
But you needed him right now.
He kneels forward and sets aside the journal. Seeing a tissue box on the vanity near you, he plucks out a tissue and wipes away the mascara stains that formed.
After he dried your face, he held your small hands into his, grounding yourself.
“I feel like I’ve ruined today.” You murmured.
Bruce knitted his eyebrows, brushing his thumb across your knuckles.
“You didn’t ruin anything, in fact, I’m expecting at least one of the boys to have a mishap during the ceremony.”
You chuckled loudly as Bruce helped you out of our seat. He held you by your waist and looked down at your mesmorizing eyes.
“I know we haven’t had many good memories this past year, but let’s mark today the happiest day we can make. Because in less than an hour, I get to marry the love of my life.”
You blush at his words, then stare straight at his tie as you fixed it for him.
“And I get to marry my best friend.” You said, leaning in for a kiss.
“Nope! No kissing before you say ‘I do!’” a young voice cried out.
You and Bruce turn around to see an angry Damian and his mildly annoyed brothers that were probably dragged here against their will.
You couldn’t help but hold back laughter. Bruce speaks up. “Damian, it’s alright-”
Bruce yelps as Dick and Jason march forward and carry him out of the room.
“I didn’t wait 10 years for my parents not to get married, let’s get this show on the road people!” Dick said.
You laugh out loud as Dinah enters, confused.
“I have no idea what just happened.”
“You don’t want to know.”
You and Dinah look at each other and burst into fits of laughter.
Once you both die down from the high, she looks at you with pride.
“Are you ready to put on your dress?”
You nod your head eagerly.
“Let’s do this.”
Thirty minutes later, all of the guests were settled in their seats. The quietness fell as the music became stronger, and they all looked up at the aisle.
Alfred made his way up to the small platform and settled on his spot, where he got the best place to see his family march down the aisle.
Bruce makes his way first, showing a rare sincere smile on his face.
He stands next to Alfred, whispering softly.
“Thank you, Alfred.”
“What for, Master Bruce?” Alfred asks.
Bruce smiles down and looks at his father “For not giving up on me.”
Alfred pats Bruce’s shoulder and beams proudly.
“You’re my son Bruce, I would never give up on you.”
They share a small hug and they both look forward to the aisle.
Jason walks down, and later with Tim, Damian, and Dinah who weren’t far behind.
Soon, the music changed as you finally arrived at the foot of the aisle. Bruce forgot how to breathe, as all he could see was your eldest walking with you.
It was like you came out of a fairytale, as your dress was decorated with the smallest of pearls and your veil tucked in your hair.
What made your outfit more personal was the bouquet of lilies that you had in your hand.
Bruce didn’t realize how he was crying till Jason offered him a handkerchief.
Not a dry eye was in sight. All of the justice league members were crying, and one can distinctly hear an Arthur Curry sobbing next to a stoic martian.
You finally stood in front of Bruce, sharing the same loving gaze you two gave.
Everyone sat down and Alfred began the ceremony.
“Today we bring not only two people into matrimony, but a family. They have all faced many things in life, but the importance was that they were brought together for love. The couple has decided to share their vows to one another.”
Alfred steps back and it was Bruce’s turn to speak. He takes out a piece of paper, folded from his pocket. He was about to read it out loud until at the last second, he decided not to.
“I had this whole speech prepared, even written on this piece of paper two weeks ago. But I realized I can’t read it out loud. Looking at you right now, you deserve to hear what’s from the heart.”
Your cheeks turned red, and you felt like it was just the two of you existing in this moment as the two of you held hands.
“It took me a long time to know what love was. I lost so much over the years and I just thought that image of me finding my person was just a figment of my imagination. And then I got to know you. Your infectious laughter and your kind persona made my heart pound faster. The mere thought of losing you broke me. I didn’t realize I couldn’t live without you till I left eight months ago.”
You look at him with sympathetic eyes as you see him tearing up.
“Leaving you all behind was the biggest mistake I ever made. You have given me so much forgiveness, yet I can’t even forgive myself for doing such a thing. Even now, after being together for ten years and bringing up four kids together.
It took me a while to acknowledge my demons. But ever since I met you, you made them disappear. You brought out the best parts in me, making me more human than I ever felt. You show me that there is so much to look forward to, more things to experience.”
He said, taking a step forward and placing a loving hand on your belly, making you cry.
“I promise to you and our children that I will never miss the big and small moments. I want to take you dancing when I’m forced to attend those dreadful formal events. I will learn how to cook better so I could make you a romantic meal or be those dads to bbq on a saturday afternoon.”
The guests awed and laughed at his words.
“Lastly, I promise that I will never let you doubt a single second that I am deeply in love with you. We fell once, but I held onto you to make sure you were safe in my arms. And now that we’re standing on the ground, I’m here to profess my love in front of everyone who was a part of our journey.”
Bruce concluded, and you smiled with happy tears. He then takes out the handkerchief he used earlier and wipes away the water on your face.
“I’ll always catch every teardrop.” Bruce whispered for only you two to hear.
He takes a step back as you take your turn to say your vows.
You take a deep breath, and look up those sharp and handsome features you fell in love with.
“Growing up, I realized that there were a lot of unknowns. I didn’t know much of my family background and I gave up searching for it. Then when I got through college, there were less uncertainties. I realized what I wanted to do as a profession and I thought I’d be married to my job. Who knew I’d be marrying Gotham’s retired bachelor?”
There was a light laughter among the crowd. You saw how Bruce cracked a smile as he playfully rolled his eyes.
“That uncertainty of not having a family was proven wrong the day you entered my life. Not only did I get to love you, but I got to love these wonderful kids I call my sons. Even though all of them were brought up differently, they are all a product of you. You have shown them what a true man is: sacrificing for the greater good. And I know that at the end of the night, you have done so much to make this world a better place to live in, especially for our daughter.”
You try to hold a laugh, looking down as you feel a kick in your belly.
“I know the decisions you made were from selfless acts, but I want you to know that you don’t have to go through things alone. You have me, Alfred, our kids, and many friends that are like heroes.”
You could see how some people held a snicker to themselves with your inside joke.
“I thought of myself as an unfinished puzzle, missing one piece. You, Bruce, are my missing piece. You complete me in ways I can not imagine. I see the whole picture now, and I can’t wait to start another puzzle of our life together with our kids.”
You look over behind Bruce and see how all of your sons are crying. They quickly recoup themselves so you don’t have to dote on them. You and Bruce smile proudly at them, knowing that all they wanted was for their parents to be together.
“May I have the rings please?” Alfred asks. Damian walks up with a small box and opens it for you and Bruce to retrieve.
Bruce holds your left hand and slips your ring on your finger. You take his hand as you do the same for him.
“Do you, take this woman to be your wife, through sickness and in health, to have and to hold, till death do you part?” Alfred asks Bruce.
“I do.” Bruce said loudly.
“Do you, take this man to be your husband, through sickness and in health, to have and to hold, till death do you part?” Alfred asks you.
“I do.” You said with love in your voice.
Alfred looks at you proudly as he concludes the last remarks.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride.” Alfred announced.
Bruce takes you by the waist, making you yelp and laugh as he dips you into a kiss. The whole crowd roars and whistles as you wrap your arms around his neck. Once you let go, you two walk hand in hand on the aisle with your sons and Dinah following behind.
Once the dinner starts, you reentered with Bruce in the gala room. Then, you all started to eat and walked around to meet your guests.
You were talking to Lois as you were catching up with each other.
Bruce was a few feet away talking to Clark and Oliver Queen.
“Congrats Bruce. Married life suits you.” Oliver said as he took a sip of cider.
“You’re not drinking tonight?” Clark lightly jokes.
“Nah, designated driver. I want Dinah to have fun tonight.” He said, smiling at his wife who was happily drinking with Kendra Saunders (and were competing who would outdrink the other).
“Lois gave me the green light for me but unfortunately, champagne doesn’t have strong effects on a krytonian.” Clark said.
“I couldn’t help overhearing, but I do have a special brew imported from the last planet I flew out to.” John Stewart said, flashing an unusual looking flask.
“John, you amaze me.” Clark said as he got up from his seat for the two men to drink.
“How about you, Bruce, you drinking?” Oliver asked.
Bruce looks over his shoulder and makes eye contact with you, as you blush under his stare.
“No, I think I'd rather savor this moment tonight.” Bruce said, slowly getting out of his seat to walk to you.
You say bye to Lois as you meet Bruce half way.
“Hello, Mr. Wayne.” you said seductively (but in a humorous way).
“Hello, Mrs. Wayne.” He said, kissing your hand softly and slowly.
“Are we ready for our first dance?” You ask.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention please!” Dick said as he spoke into the microphone.
“I think yes.” Bruce said as he intertwined your hand together.
“Let’s welcome the new couple for their first dance!”
A bunch of whistles and applause spread around the room as you and Bruce made your way to the middle of the room. The music started playing and the two of you started to do a simple slow dance. Bruce was never the one to do complex choreography and you couldn’t do much due to being heavily pregnant.
But you couldn’t care less, cause now you were dancing with the love of your life.
“You made me think of something this morning.” Bruce said.
You hummed as you looked up at him.
“I should have married you a long time ago.” he said.
You chuckle lightly.
“I’m serious!” He said, a bit hurt.
“Bruce, I know that there’s a lot of things to regret… but we wouldn’t be able to grow from our choices. We probably wouldn’t have all our kids, including Lily.” You said.
“You never wished that I should have asked sooner?” Bruce asked, bewildered.
“Oh, You should have asked me to marry you when you showed me the adoption papers for Dick. Then Jason. Then Ti-”
“I know, I know.” Bruce muttered playfully.
“I was afraid that when the truth came out, you wouldn’t take me back. And that did happen.” Bruce said, holding you closer.
“Hey, look at me. Look at how far we’ve gone. I’m still here. I’m not going anywhere, as well as you.” You said firmly.
Bruce couldn’t believe how strong you were after all of his crap that you went through.
“One time, Clark said that if you weren’t pregnant, you would have beat the crap out of me.”
“Oh, I can still do that now. You just gotta drive me to the hospital if I go into labor.”
Bruce laughed loudly as well as you, then connected your forehead together as you returned to quietly dance with each other.
Slowly, all of the couples started to flood on the dance floor.
Dick and Korey were whispering sweet nothings as they slowly danced. Others like the Kent and Queen family were staring at each other lovingly under the soft lights.
Most of the younger heroes such as Jon, Damian, and Garth were raiding the dessert table.
Tim was talking to Cassie Sandsmark and Stephanie Brown, but the girls were wondering who Tim will dance with.
And then there was Jason, who looked fondly at the whole scene.
“I never heard you being so quiet.” Roy Harper joked as he got drinks for them.
Jason looks back at him as he gets his drink.
“Just never thought all of this would be possible, the normalcy I mean.”
“I’ll drink to that.” Roy said as they clink their drinks.
The two center their direction to Jason’s parents who were still slow dancing.
“It took them ten years to tie the knot.” Jason joked as he sipped his drink.
Roy could only chuckle.
“She was too busy raising all of us.” Roy said.
It was true, you were the official mother figure for all the kids in the superhero business. You helped Roy overcome his drug abuse, he never knew why until you told him of your past recently. He loved you more after that, and everyone was so happy that you finally got to marry Bruce.
Jason couldn’t help but smile. He then looks at his older brother dancing the night away until Barbra rolls beside him, asking to talk. Dick looked grim and the two left the dancefloor for some privacy.
Jason didn’t realize that his brothers noticed as well until they were all following them outside to the kitchen.
“What’s going on?” Tim asked as Barbra and Dick turned around.
“I got some intel on Two Face. Apparently, there’s more to the case then we realized.” Barbra said, looking a bit uneasy.
“Why are you guys out here? We’re about to cut the cake!” A voice said out loud.
Everyone turned around and saw their parents who looked so happy.
Oh, how that will change.
“I have to go to the department, but congrats to the two of you.” Barbra said before leaving.
Unfortunately, it left Dick to be the bearer of bad news.
“There’s something you need to know, mom.” Dick said.
Bruce was about to say this can wait till tomorrow, but you placed your hand on his chest, letting him know you can handle this.
“Go ahead.” You gave permission for Dick to continue.
“We found out that Dent was going to make a deal with the PD to release everything he had on Maroni and turn in the evidence.”
“What was he expecting for the end of his deal?” Tim asked.
“He wanted to reduce his sentence, and get moved out of Gotham for proper treatment. We think that one of Maroni’s rats is in the PD and heard about Dent. The day he was supposed to give information was when Maroni broke him out before he could speak about it.” Dick said.
“That’s why he’s keeping him, to find out where Dent kept all of the dirt on Maroni. But where?” Jason asks.
“It has to be somewhere no one thinks to look at.” Damian added.
Your head started to spin, where would be the last place Maroni wouldn’t even care to look at?
“The bank account.” you whispered.
“What?” Bruce said.
“The bank account my dad left me, it’s also a small safe. That’s how he was able to keep the evidence guarded, because he knew no one would open it unless I would. ” You spoke up.
“We’re not sure if that’s where he would store it though.” Dick said.
“If I could just go to the bank and open the account-” You suggested before Bruce interrupted.
“No, we don't know what can happen. I will not put your life at risk.”
There was an uncomfortable pause, and Bruce exhaled.
“Look, we lost each other once, I don’t want to go through that again indefinitely.” Bruce said, crestfallen.
You held his hand firmly and looked up to him.
“I trusted you all these years, for once, can you trust me?” You asked.
Bruce doesn’t speak until he takes your palm, kissing it.
“Okay, we’ll plan something tomorrow. But if it gets too dangerous, I’m making sure you’re out of harm's way.”
You nod your head as the two of you hug tightly.
You pull away as Bruce looks at the boys.
“C’mon, we still need to celebrate.” Bruce said, as your sons make a single file line out.
Bruce pulls you in by his side, staring at you with a loving gaze.
“I promise, both of us will work on saving your dad.”
“Together?” You ask.
“Together.” Bruce replied.
He pulls you in for a kiss as you both walk out to your reception, resuming the festivities.
But something deep inside you made you think that you were able to save your dad no matter the cost.
Even if you had to do it alone.

The Blood Within Us Chapter 13
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Pregnant! Reader
Summary: Will the reader do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves when tragedy hits the Wayne family? How far will the truth be tested when she realizes she’s not the only one with secrets of her own?
Warning: small car incident, skipping school
October was the worst month for the vigilantes of Gotham.
It was the month when all the villains decide to spread their terror in the city, making the heroes tired and worn.
Tonight was no exception as the Scarecrow filled a type of hallucination gas in the police station.
Dick was quick enough to notice the symptoms and alerted batman before the whole building would tear each other apart.
His father showed up, alongside Tim who came up with an antidote in record time.
Bruce was proud that Dick was training to be an officer, he was becoming a young man who was working hard for his profession. Bruce doesn’t want to admit that he missed his help as Nightwing, but he couldn’t care less. His son was happy, and that’s what mattered.
Bruce took the long way back to the cave, as he was finding the missing person who escaped Arkham: Two Face.
When he first found out about his disappearance, all he could think of was how you would react.
And it wasn’t helping that you were nearing your third trimester.
Bruce vowed to find him and turn him in, but Two Face’s tracks were hard to find.
It was like he didn’t want to be found.
Bruce gave up and headed back home, as Tim was drifting off to sleep in the Batmobile.
Once they entered the cave and got out of the car, Bruce loudly sighed in relief.
He was finally home.
He sent Tim off to his room, saying that he needs his rest since it was a school night.
Alfred approached him with a light dinner, as Bruce was too tired to stomach a whole meal.
Bruce was about to eat till he saw someone shift in his chair where the monitor was.
“She came downstairs to wait for you. I wanted to urge her that you’ll be arriving late again, but she fell asleep.” Alfred said.
Bruce’s face was defeated as what Alfred was referring to.
Ever since you heard of your birth father’s escape, you’ve been on edge. You’ve been lacking sleep as all you could do was worry that something may happen to you or your family. Bruce even felt guiltier as he was also the reason for your insomnia. Last week, you stayed up all night tending to his wounds when he was battling Killer Croc.
His left shoulder was badly injured and he was still facing pain. Bruce quickly ate and lowered himself to the ground in front of you, lightly shaking your arm.
“Darling…” He whispered, trying not to wake you up so harshly.
You fluttered your eyes and wiped them, looking down at Bruce.
“Let’s go to bed, you know sleeping in the chair isn’t good for your back.” Your fiance said, as you’ve done it a few times and resulted to light Braxton hicks the following morning.
You didn’t say a word as you were too tired to speak, so you got up and walked in tow with him to the master bedroom. Your finance was right behind you as he placed a comforting hand on your back.
Once you entered the shared room, you went to brush your teeth as Bruce shed off his clothes and took a quick shower. Once you were done in the bathroom, you sit on the edge of the bed and waited for Brue to come out.
He then walks out, glistening from the droplets he couldn’t reach. Aquaman couldn’t even be compared to how your Bruce looks now, wet and handsome. He tosses the towel in a nearby chair and slips on his underwear. He turns to get the two tubs from the nightstand and sat in between your legs on the ground, handing you a small tub of vaseline for his aching shoulder.
You rub the vaseline in your hands and place them lightly on his back. You then need your palms to his shoulder blades, as you lightly hear a grunt from Bruce. You stop for a second till you see his features at rest, as he was used to the pain.
As you were done massaging his shoulders. He gets up from his spot and looks down.
“Lie down,” he whispers softly.
You did as you were told, too tired to do anything else.
Bruce opens your shea butter and rubs the soft cream on your belly. You know he’s taking his time as the strokes on your stomach are slower from past nights.
“What’s wrong?” he asks you.
You position yourself to look at him with tired eyes.
“I’ve just been… thinking.” You mumbled out.
“Hopefully you’re not getting cold feet,” Bruce smirked, trying to lighten the situation with a joke.
You playfully roll your eyes as Bruce finished wiping the butter on your belly as he crawled his way to his side of the bed.
“We’re going to find him, you know…” Bruce said, knowing that Dent was on your mind.
“It’s just not my… him.” You caught yourself before uttering those words.
You turn around and face Bruce with a serious look.
“Don’t you feel like every time we move forward from tragedy, it strikes again?” You ask.
Bruce looks at you with sympathetic eyes as his mouth formed a thin line.
“All the time.” He states.
You slowly sit up from your lying position and look down at your lap.
“And it makes me worry that something bad will happen. I can’t face losing anyone else, Bruce. I just can’t.” You whispered as tears started to form. Bruce immediately gets up and hugs you, calming your sobs.
He knows he can’t promise that nothing will happen, Bruce made many of those promises and he broke every single one.
He lifts your chin gently and raises your sight to his.
“Many things will happen, whether we want it or not. But you won’t face those fears alone.” Bruce softly says.
You smile at him as you both lie down in the bed with Bruce holding you in his arms as you rest your belly on his side. You both drift off to sleep, hoping that your mind will be put to ease.
The following morning, you woke up alone in your bed. You slowly get up and get out of bed to see if Bruce left for work. You make your way to the kitchen where you saw your two of your youngest sons and Alfred eating breakfast prepared by
Bruce?
He turns around and smiles at you from the counter, as he was cutting fresh fruit.
“Don’t worry, he didn’t cook,” Tim said, as he took a bite of his meal. You chuckle lightly as you ruffled both of your sons' hair and kissed the top of their heads.
“Good morning dear, how are you feeling?” Alfred says as he helps you in your seat.
“Better from last night.” You said as Bruce gave you a kiss and placed a bowl of greek yogurt with chia seeds and your favorite fruits.
“I woke up a bit early this morning, so I thought I’d make breakfast and take the boys to school,” Bruce said as he was cleaning the kitchen.
“I’m excited to pick you guys up after school. We could check out that place you two have been talking about.” You said, remembering the plans you made a week ago.
“Actually, could we reschedule? I’m working on an art project for our school’s exhibit.” Damian said.
“Even me, mom. I gotta tutor someone in my chem class.” Tim added.
“No problem, we’ll plan next time.” You said, smiling at them.
Bruce dusts his hands off and stares at his kids.
“K, let’s head out before the traffic hits. Say goodbye to Alfred and your mom.” The boys quickly cleaned their plates as they said a quick goodbye to Alfred and pecked your cheek before heading outside. Bruce kisses you again before heading out.
“I love you.” He says.
“I love you, more.” You reply.
Bruce leans down to your belly and gives a quick kiss to it. “I love you most,” Bruce said to your bump, making you laugh.
He then heads outside to the car to drive out.
You turn to Alfred and smile.
“Now that I have the afternoon cleared, would you like to join me on my errands for the wedding?” You asked Alfred.
“I thought you’d never ask,” Alfred replies as you two get ready for the day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After Bruce dropped the boys, he went to work at Wayne Enterprises.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t focus as all he could do was stare at a picture on his desk of you and the kids.
With his lunch hour nearing, he texts a quick message on his phone before heading out to the local diner he likes to eat. No one cared who you were or who you were with, you just ate your meal and paid your way out. He pulls his way up the side of the street and walks into the glass doors.
The scent of last hour’s breakfast hung in the air. A middle-aged woman greets him in the front and they exchange a few words
The Wayne man made his way to a booth and pulls up a menu up to his face, trying to look busy.
He then hears the person he wanted to see shuffling in the seat in front of him.
“Sorry, I’m a bit late. Jon forgot his lunch and I had to fly back to Smallville.” Clark chuckled, shaking his head.
“You’re fine, I didn’t wait for long,” Bruce said, glad to see his friend.
The two men ordered lunch and were catching up from the past weeks.
Clark could see how stiff Bruce was as he was trying to enjoy his meal.
“Although I like our random lunches together, I feel like there’s a reason why you wanted to meet up in the middle of the week.”
Bruce sighs a bit, giving a dry chuckle at the end.
“I’m glad you don’t have mind-reading as your powers, that would be more annoying.”
Clark laughs a bit. “Don’t tell J'onzz.”
Bruce pushes over his plate.
“I need your advice on something. Don’t worry, it’s not concerning any caped business.” Bruce said.
“How… How was it like when you and Lois had Jon?” Bruce asked.
Clark was taken back from his statement.
“You can’t be serious,” Clark said, trying to see any hint of a joke as the Wayne man brought up four kids.
But this is Bruce he was talking to, and he looked very serious.
“I got really excited, but I also remembered if the baby would have any powers. Then I got worried if anything would affect Lois while she was carrying Jon. I was spiraling and I didn’t want Lois to find out. It wasn’t until I was hyperventilating when she was in labor that she had to calm me down. Then everything changed when our son was in our arms.”
Clark gets a picture out of his wallet and gives it to Bruce.
It was of the Kent family at their barn, laughing as it appeared that Clark was throwing Jon in the air (but he was actually flying) and Lois rolling her eyes at her two boys.
“The worry is still there, but I realized that as long as I have my family, I could do anything.”
Bruce smiles at the word: family.
His thoughts get interrupted before his phone rings. He scans the number that appeared on his screen.
“It’s the boys' school,” Bruce mutters before picking up the phone.
“Yes, this is he. What happened?” he says in the phone.
Clark didn’t use his hearing as he was giving Bruce privacy.
“I’ll be on my way.” Bruce said urgently and hung up.
“That was the headmaster. Tim and Damian are in detention.”
The two men get up, about to leave.
“Go, I’ll cover the bill.” Clark said.
“I already paid for it, I knew your order.” Bruce said
“I can’t be that predictable,” Clark said.
“You get a certain brand of burger here because they don’t have the same patties back in Smallville. You then get an apple pie alamode and even though you eat the whole thing, you claim that your mom makes the best.”
“It’s not a claim, it’s a fact.” Clark sassed a bit.
Bruce snickers and was about to make his way out. Clark quickly calls out for him and places a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“Your daughter is going to have the best family. Don’t sweat the small moments.”
Bruce couldn’t help but smile before he heads for his car, thinking that things will turn out alright.
Now, he had to worry about his two youngest.
Once he pulls up to the school, he already sees you and Alfred in sight. Bruce gets out of the car and goes up to you.
“School called you, too?” he asks.
You shook your head yes, sighing in annoyance.
“Can’t wait to see what happened this time.” You said, placing a hand on your stomach and the other on your back.
You and Bruce walk in tow to the headmaster’s office, as you two weren’t strangers of being called to the school.
When Dick was in school, he was often being a show-off: swooning the girls while he makes handstands on the monkey bars. The teachers called you and Bruce as other people tried to attempt whatever “The Flying Grayson” did, and often got hurt in the process (Why do kids think they could be trained acrobats in a matter of minutes? You have no clue.)
Jason was another story. He would sometimes get into fights as he would stick up to snobby rich kids who would pick on someone. He asked Bruce one night why should he be idle at school when he could kick ass to villains. You scolded him that there are other ways to stand up to bullies than showing your fists.
Now, you walk into the office while you see your two sons looking guilty and quiet.
The Headmaster gets up to greet you two. “Hello, Thank you for coming in. I wish we could have met under better circumstances.” She said.
You give her a small smile as Bruce helped you sit down, then he sat by your side.
The headmaster laces her hands together. “Earlier today, a custodian caught Tim and Damian sneaking out of a window during class hours.”
You turn back and see how your sons hung their heads low.
Bruce leads the conversation. “We were under the impression that Tim was helping someone to tutor and Damian was assisting with the art exhibit after school.”
The headmaster’s face turned confused.
“Although we have students who tutor after school, Tim wasn’t registered as one. Also, the student’s art exhibit has been delayed so the students aren’t supposed to be doing any pieces till further notice.”
Now, it was Bruce’s turn to look back at the kids and they shrunk in their chairs.
“But, I am most concern about these patterns from your family-”
“Excuse me?” You interrupted her.
“Darling…” Bruce whispered to you but you didn’t want to listen.
“Well in the past, your oldest sons haven’t been the best of students so that’s really reflecting on how you bring up your sons. Or rather, Mr. Wayne’s sons.” She replied.
You feel yourself burning up as your eyes were shooting daggers.
“I have you know, Headmaster, that my sons have gone through so much before they entered our lives. Bruce and I wasted not one second raising them as our own. Yes, what Tim and Damian did is unacceptable; But, they are good kids. So don’t question our parenting or how much we love our children.” You said, getting up and putting your purse over your shoulder.
“Let’s go.” You looked at your sons as they followed you in tow.
Bruce slowly gets out of his seat and looks at the headmaster.
“My fiance and I will talk to our sons about what they have done, but we will also discuss whether we will continue sending our children here.” Bruce concluded as he made his way out.
Once he walks to the entrance of the school, he sees you talking to Alfred to take the other car as you want to ride with Bruce to talk to your sons. Bruce silently unlocks the car and helps you in the passenger seat. Tim and Damian crawl to the back and buckle as Bruce starts the car and drives out.
The drive was silent as you were staring at the window while Bruce was concentrating on the road.
“I blame myself that I didn’t memorize the custodian schedule. That way, we wouldn’t be caught.” Damian says out loud.
You turn your head around.
“I couldn’t care less that you were caught, I care about WHY you two decided to leave school in the middle of the day mission impossible style?” you raised your voice.
“We had a lead on a case we’ve been working on and it couldn’t wait.” Tim replied in a low tone.
“So not only did you lie to me and your father about where you will be, but you both decided to just ditch school because of a damn case?” you asked out loud.
“And what case are you two working on? I haven’t assigned any the past two weeks.” Bruce added.
Damian grumbles something under his breath.
“I have no patience for you to be moody, tell me what you two are working on!” You asked angrily.
“We were looking for your father!” Damian screamed back.
Bruce presses the brake of the car out of shock. You jolt forward in your seat from the sudden shift, hissing as the seatbelt tighten your abdomen. Bruce immediately pulls over so he could see if you were ok.
“Are you alright?” Bruce asks concerningly, scanning if he accidentally hurt you.
“I’m fine, the halt took me off guard. We’re fine.” You assured him, holding his hand to ground both you and him.
You both turn to your sons who were also concerned for your being.
“Explain everything, now.” Bruce commanded.
Tim looks up to both of you and spoke.
“Ever since we thought you were dead, things were falling at the seams. Mom had it worse out of all of us. And when she started seeing Dent at Arkham, she started getting better. But when he disappeared, mom went to that same cycle again. We thought if we could find him, she’ll feel more at ease.” Tim said.
“Mother needs closure, and I thought if I got that for her, she’ll forgive me for everything I’ve done in the past.” Damian also said.
“What do you mean, Dami?” You asked, your voice softer from before.
Damian’s hands were in fist as you could see he was fighting the urge to cry.
“When I first met you, I despised you. I hated how you wanted to be my mom when I already had one. But then I realized that my own mother wasn’t coming back for me, I lost all hope. But you never gave up on me. She almost hurt you all those months ago and I can’t forgive her for that, she almost took away someone I loved.” Tim and Bruce hung their heads low as all you could do was cry.
Damian roughly wipes his tears away in his sleeve.
“And when Tim announced your lineage, I realized we weren’t so different. We had parents who chose their own needs than their own flesh and blood. I don’t care if my own mother is dead or alive. But you still have your father, and you still need your answers of why he wasn’t there.”
You try your best to reach out for him, and he quickly takes your hand.
“Damian, we can’t change the blood within us. But what we can do is change who we become and choose our own paths, our own family.” You look at at Bruce who shares a loving gaze at you.
You turn back to your boys.
“I love you and your brothers, nothing can break that. No matter how many times you boys get in trouble, I still love you. So please, don’t go chasing after someone that doesn’t mean a thing to me. All I need is my family, and that’s enough.” You said.
Tim and Damian get out of their seats and hug you as best as they can.
“We’re still not off the hook, right?” Tim asks out of the blue.
“Oh, you’re grounded big time.” Bruce replied, making you laugh lightly.
After everyone composed themselves, Bruce went on the road again and made his way at the manor.
He pulls in and parks the car, where he gets out to help you too.
Damian walks with you at your side when you enter your home.
“Remeber: no missions, internet, or training for the next week.” Bruce called out to his youngest as he was ear shot.
“Same to you.” Bruce said to Tim.
Tim lightly chuckles.
“Can I tell you something? It’s about why we decided to leave.” Tim asked.
Bruce looks up and sees you from afar, starting to lie on the couch in the living space.
“Sure.” he replied.
Tim shifts where he stood, looking uneasy.
“Dick called me during break saying that he found insight on Dent’s file. He said that he started seeing a psychiatrist at Arkham and was getting treatment for his dissociative identity disorder after mom’s first meeting with him. His results were improving, so I don’t know why he escaped if he was getting help.”
Bruce’s forehead wrinkles slightly as he was thinking.
“I’ll look into it. I’ll let your mom know about this, but no more suit work. I mean it.”
Tim nods his head as he made his way to his room. Bruce releases a sigh and walks up to you at the couch. You turn your head up to him and give him a small smile.
“Come lay with me?” you ask.
“You know I always take the offer.” He jokes as he makes his way behind you, wrapping his arms around you and your bump.
“Today was…”
“Yep.” Bruce finished your sentence.
Both of you were frustrated about how things climaxed, but at the end of the day, your boys only cared for your well being.
“I told the headmaster that we’re going to discuss if the kids will continue going to school there.” Bruce said.
You try looking at him from where you laid. “Bruce, I think that’s a bit melodramatic. Tim is almost done with high school and Damian was just getting settled in his surroundings. And I know how much that school meant to your dad.” You said, knowing that the late Thomas Wayne was an alum there.
Bruce laces his hand into yours.
“It’s not just the boys, it’s also about if we send Lily there too.” He said as his he holds you closer around your belly.
“Let’s talk about it tomorrow, today’s been really rough and I think I exceeded my brain power today.” You joked, but you were really drained from getting upset.
Bruce kisses your shoulder to show you he’ll wait as you guys mindlessly talk about other things.
“I went planning for the wedding today.” You said.
“Really? How was it?”
“It was good. We need to try cakes though this week, you’re always so picky.”
“I’m not that picky.”
“Yes, you are!”
You both chuckle from your light banter until you yawned and slowly closed your eyes till you were sleeping.
Bruce knew that you would wake up if he got up so he decided to join you for a nap.
Awhile later, Dick enters the manor and was about to announce his presence until he saw the two of you sleeping.
He smiles at how cute you guys looked and took a quick picture to send to his brothers.
Dick makes his way to Alfred to leave you guys where you are: happy in each other’s arms.

The Blood Within Us Chapter 9
Tumblr media
Summary: Will the reader do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves when tragedy hits the Wayne family? How far will the truth be tested when she realizes she’s not the only one with secrets of her own?
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Pregnant Reader
Warning: accident, mentions of miscarriage (does not happen), antagonizing journalists (should it be a warning?), risk of health
The sun crept in the bedroom, making you frown as you flutter your eyes. For a second, you thought you were in the manor, basking in the warmth with your fiance.
But, you were just in your son's apartment.
Jason has been so patient with you, as this was the fifth day of crashing in his space. Even if he insisted that you can stay as long as you need to, your son needs to start living his life.
That's what you thought for all of them. Dick has been stopping by more often to check how you are, even bringing over your personal items. You get texts from Damian, checking how his little sibling is to take your mind off of things. Tim hasn't returned your calls, but you understood he needed some space after he learned of your lineage.
Keeping a secret like that was such a burden, no wonder why he's been losing sleep these past weeks.
Alfred rang you up a few times, apologizing in every call, but you reassured him that he did nothing wrong.
It was someone else who should be apologizing.
Bruce hasn't contacted you in any way. This was typical of him when something bad happens, always staying his distance until he's ready.
You push that thought aside as you get up from the bed, wanting to satisfy your hunger. You then start working on breakfast quietly as Jason was still sleeping on the couch.
With the groceries you got this week, you start making Jason's favorite breakfast you used to make when he was a kid: banana pecan pancakes.
The waft of the scent stirs Jason in his sleep as he shoots his head up to the kitchen.
"Is that what I think it is?" He asks.
You smile at him as you start placing the pancakes on the table.
"Your favorite! You better come over here before I eat them all." You joke.
He smiles brightly as he jumps from his lying position and runs fast into the kitchen. He gives you a side hug as he steals the first plate in your hand. You both laugh at his antics as you both made your way to sit at the small dining table.
"Where did Dick go? I almost made blueberry pancakes but his things were gone." You ask Jason as you took a bite of your food.
He gulps down his food to reply. "Said he was taking a jog around the block. But he says he can meet you for lunch at your work." You nod your head as you gulp down a glass of water.
"Speaking of work, I need to grab my phone. I lost it sometime last night. One of my designers sent some sketches to my email awhile ago and I need to view them quickly." Jason stops what he's doing and appears guilty.
"I haven't seen it." he says, clearly lying.
You give him a stern look, so you get up to search it yourself. Jason is hot at your tail till you see it hidden under scraps of discarded books on the small coffee table.
You turn to your son with your phone in your hand.
"Why did you hide my phone, Jay?" you ask.
He scratches the back of his neck, but he gives a defeated sigh.
"Some dumb blog has been writing about you and Bruce, and it's not really pretty. I didn't want it to upset you." He says.
You exhale as every time Bruce's name was called out, your heart broke a little.
"Let me be the judge of that, but you're right. I don't need some gossip site to tear me down than the mess I already am.
"You're not a mess, ma. You're still healing and that takes time. Don't think you owe anyone an apology for what you're feeling" You smile at him as you tussle his hair.
"How did you grow up so much?" you ask. He casually shrugs his shoulders.
"Guess I've been hanging around you and Alfred a lot. Go get ready, I'll get dressed so I could drop you to work."
You smile at him as you turned around to get dressed too. Once you're both prepared, you go down the stairs to where the car was parked.
After you both say goodbye in front of your work, you head towards your office. Work hit you without caution as you attended a meeting to plan for this year's fall and winter line. You begin walking back to your designers and attended international calls. Once your break starts, you head back to your office.
Feeling curious, you use your computer to search about that article Jason was talking about. You felt disgusted how the paparazzi took photos of you without you knowing while you were doing errands. But, that was the price to pay when you were affiliated with Bruce Wayne.
You then hear a knock on the door and see Dick in his jogging gear.
"Hey, mom. Ready for lunch?" he asks brightly.
You smile at him as you get up from your chair. "Soon, but first... I wanted to talk to you about something."
You motion for him to sit on the lounge couch as you head there too.
You give him a serious look before you begin to speak.
"I've been thinking about this a lot and I want you to answer truthfully. Is it true that you want to apply to the police academy?"
He widens his eyes before he looks down for a bit.
"You found my application..." he says, his tone dropping.
You place your hand on his shoulder.
"A blank one. I just want to know what made you consider doing it." He doesn't hear a tone of dismay, so replies back.
“After my parents…” he said hesitantly, not wanting to state those words out of his mouth. You saw him distraught and grabbed his hand, soothing it for support. “I swore that I wouldn’t let that happen to any other kid. If I want justice for others, I want to do it right… So I'm applying for the police academy this fall.”
You stare at him for a bit and held your hand to his face. “I know that it means a lot to you to make your own path, so you have my support Dick. I’m so proud of you and know that your parents are too.” he started tearing up and gave you the biggest hug. He chuckled a bit and released a shaky breath.
“Whew, I don’t know why but I was worried you wouldn’t agree. You don't know how much this means to me.” you shake your head and rub his shoulder. “You’re your own person honey. Not me or your father should decide what you want in life and how to live it.”
Dick had a sad smile just as you mentioned Bruce. “Speaking of dad, do you think he’ll approve?” You give a big sigh as you fiddled with the pillow near you. “I can’t speak for him right now, but I think it's best to talk to him as soon as possible.”
He sees his mother’s distress, seeing how their separation has taken a toll on her health. "You read those articles, didn't you?"
You take a deep breath as you look at your computer.
"It just makes me sick. Wish I could get away from the press."
Dick turns to you and tries to brighten the mood “Why don’t we go for lunch? I think your favorite cafe is open if I'm not mistaken.” he said gleefully. You turned around to face him and gave the warmest smile.
“I would love that. Just head down to the exit while I close the office. It shouldn’t take me more than ten minutes to meet you there.” He gives you a nod as he helps you get up from the couch, kissing your temple.
As five minutes pass, you reach down to the bottom drawer of your desk, trying to find your wallet. You hear the door swing open, but only thinking it was Dick. “Honey, I think I misplaced my wallet. Do you mind turning off the monitor while I-” You face up not facing your son, but someone you have least expected to see. “Bruce.”
You couldn’t fathom that he was here with you in the same room existing at the same time. He shaved his beard and cut his hair, looking like the last time you saw him at the gala. Bruce begins to stammer. “I… uh… went for a drive after my meeting. Somehow I came here, I wanted to check on you.”
You look down and rub your protruding belly, a habit you started to do for quite some time. “I’m fine… I was going to lunch with Dick down the block.” you said quickly, now finding your wallet and leaving quickly with Bruce behind you. “Please, I want to make this-” he said, trying to gently grab your hand, but you resent his touch.
“What Bruce, make it right?! Like these past few days never existed after telling me our whole relationship was based on a lie?"
You were thankful enough that the whole office space was empty so no one could hear your argument.
"We need to resolve this, paparazzi have been banging on my door and I'm afraid they'll come to you next."
You scoff as you stare at him, fuming. "Don't you think I know?"
You see him stare at your side.
"There are pictures of you without your ring." he says in a whisper
You look down at your left hand, realizing. "My hand has been swelling since the pregnancy started. I never had the time to get it resized. But, maybe it's a good thing I'm not wearing it now."
Bruce doesn't break eye contact with you.
"What are you insinuating?" He asks.
You stay silent for a moment, trying to find an answer. "Maybe we don't know each other too well to get married." you said, looking away.
"You promised me that the lies will stop, but you’re still keeping secrets… it’s too much for me to even fathom to forgive you right now.”
You distance yourself between him, leaning on a nearer desk for support “Sometimes you make me feel like I can’t breathe…” you said as you gasped lightly, still trembling from the tears streaming down your face.
Bruce looks down in shame. He closes up to you, wanting to hold you in his arms like he did when he returned home, but you wouldn't allow it.
Was this the moment that he lost you?
Both of you shoot up and see Dick out of breath.
"The paps are here... we need to go now." Dick ordered as he grabbed your hand to the exit. Bruce took no hesitation and pursued behind to ensure your safety. Once you exit, flashing cameras and microphones blind your view as you try to get to your car.
Dick lost his grip on you, as he fared off in the crowd. You feel Bruce's hand placed on the small spot on your back, trying not to lose you.
“Bruce, I can’t…. Breathe…” you said as loud as you could, but the reporters shout obnoxious questions, ordering you to answer. Bruce tries to stay close to you, but the swarm of people overpowered.
You don't know how, but the overcrowding must have lost your balance, making your body collapsed on the floor very abrupt. You groan in pain as your hands quickly go to your stomach.
Bruce screams out your name, holding your body. He glares at all of the prying eyes around him, shouting around to move away or else. Once every cleared a path, Dick sees you in Bruce’s arms as he tries to soothe your sudden cries. “Mom! What happened?” he said running, kneeling to see what happened. Bruce quickly looks up to Dick.
“She fell, she must have impacted on her abdomen. Start the car, we need to go to the hospital.” No time was wasted as Bruce handed his son his keys. Dick sees the car not too far from here and starts the ignition while Bruce was behind carrying you safely and sat in the back of the passenger seat, your body never leaving his arms.
Dick drives like there's no tomorrow as you cried in Bruce's chest.
"The baby... I can't lose..."
"You're going to be alright." Bruce whispered repeatedly in your ear, silently praying for any God to make sure you and the baby were alright.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Where's Ma?" Jason screamed in the waiting room as he heard about your episode from 2 hours ago. He would have arrived sooner if he wasn't working on a solo project. Dick got up from his seat and went up to his younger brother. "She's stable for now. Doctor's did an emergency scan on her, the baby is alright for now. Her room is five doors down on the left, Bruce is watching her." Jason shook his head in disbelief.
"Everything was fine this morning...." Dick looked down "Mom may have a rough few months carrying the baby to full term. Bruce came out when she began to sleep and explained everything."
Jason glanced at the direction where her room was and muttered under his breath "What an expert he is.” Before he could take one step, Dick held his shoulder and forced Jason to look at him. "I know you're mad at him, we all are after what he did to her. But right now is not the time to be angry. He’s a mess ever since he’s been by her side, I think that’s punishment enough" Jason clenched his jaw, but nodded in agreement to his older brother and made his way.
Jason took a deep breath and slowly opened the door to the hospital room. He saw Bruce holding her hand tightly in his sitting figure as they were both asleep. He felt almost content by his adoptive father’s action.
When he was about to leave, a voice whispered out loud, "Could you get the blanket near the end of the bed? She's getting a bit cold." He recognized it as his father's and turned around and saw him half awake. Jason walked quietly to the bed and quietly tucked his mother like how she did for him many years ago. Jason takes a seat on the opposite side of Bruce, facing his mom.
“Alfred was running errands when I called, he picked up Tim and Damian back at the manor to see your mother when she wakes up. She needs her rest after today.” Jason finally exhaled in relief.
Jason took the seat opposite to Bruce, staring at his mother in disbelief. The room was silent, the only noise that was made was the heart monitor. Jason looked up to him, wanting to yell or cuss him out for destroying the few people in his life to care for him. Bruce slowly turned his gaze to you as your breathing was silently blissful.
"I know you been to Blüdhaven these past nights when you're off patrol." Jason said lowly, not wanting to disrupt the calm silence.
Jay looks up to Bruce who's eyes never left you. "Why didn't you just go to her?"
Bruce takes a moment to answer. "I don't know." Bruce whispers under his breath.
Jason then gets up and looks back again to his parents.
"If you loved her, you should have stayed. None of this would have happened." Jason stated as he left the room.
All of the boys including Alfred were in the waiting room, waiting for you to wake up. Bruce who was staring sadly at your sleeping figure.
“I never got to apologize.” Bruce started as he spoke out loud to you.
“Not for this past week, but for these ten years...” His eyes start to water, regretting all the hurt he caused you. “-wanting to be with you for intel, not telling you sooner of what I do, sending Dick away without your consent, losing Jason, straining your love with Tim, you getting mad that I had Damian while we were still together, all of it."
He inches his chair closer to you "Most of all, I allowed myself to slowly let you go. I thought that the best thing to keep everyone safe was if I left but I was wrong: Alfred, the boys, you, our baby-” he places his palm on your abdomen
“You are the source of my happiness, the light in the most darkest part of my life; I can’t go on if I was the source of your pain. I promise you, no more hiding anything.” He collapses to your side, burying his face on the mattress. He feels a hand slowly reaching out to him and sees you awake.
You don't get a word out as Bruce launched into your arms, sobbing in your hair. He feels you soothing his back as you cry as well.
He lets go and moves the hair out of your eyes.
"You meant all of those things?" You ask as Bruce starts to wipe away your tears with his thumb.
"Every word." he whispers back.
You hear the door opening and see your family flooding in the room.
"Mom!" Tim screamed out as he speeds up to your bed, hugging you tightly. Your tears return again, but happy ones as you reunite with all of your sons.
Damian then walks to your side opposite of Tim, sitting on your bed.
"How's the baby?" he asks sincerely.
Tim lets go of you as you sit properly in your bed.
"When they did the scan earlier, the baby is fine. They said they'll stop by once I woke up."
You can hear the relief in the room as everyone calmed down.
"You know, you can press charges to all of those paps." Dick said, crossing his arms across your chest.
You and Bruce share a glance. "I'm not wanting to mix myself in that drama at this moment. The baby is healthy, that's all I care about right now." you replied.
Bruce already looks like he's going to handle that situation in his personal time, but he stands closer to your bed for your support.
A nurse steps into the room and sees how filled it is.
"I guess this is a family affair." she joked as she went up to you.
"How we feeling, mom?" the nurse asks as she preps up the sonogram.
"A lot better now, I don't feel any pain." you reply.
The nurse takes out the gel and starts placing it on your belly.
"Good! Don't be alarmed that a bruise may form around the abdomen." she reminds you as she starts taking the wand and moves it around your belly.
When the scan lights up, everyone stares in disbelief at the growing baby.
You suddenly feel Bruce's hand into yours as he stares at his child on the screen. His breathing got hitched from how big they're getting from the last sonogram picture that was given to him.
"The placenta isn't ruptured, but we would like to have you stay overnight in case something were to happen. On the other hand, it seems that the baby isn't shy today. Would you like to know the gender?" she asks.
You gasp as you brightly look at Bruce.
"I'm ready if you are." you ask, smiling. He nods his head yes and you turn to your nurse.
"Congratulations, you're having a baby girl." she announced.
All of the boys cheered out, taking out their phones.
"I told you it was a girl." Dick said to Tim as he looked annoyed.
"Wait, did you all took bets?" you turn to your children who paused in front of you.
"We're not the only ones who took bets." Jason said, seeing Roy Harper venmo him on his phone.
"I don't even want to know how much you all lost." Bruce said seriously, making them all laugh out loud.
The nurse takes the wand away and looks at the full room. "Okay, all of you need to leave to give mom some rest. Only one person can stay overnight." The nurse said, turning off the machine.
Bruce looks down at you, possibly pleading with his eyes to allow him to stay.
You nod your head slowly and agree. The boys said their farewells to you as well as Alfred who pressed a kiss to your head.
The nurse told Bruce that the nearby couch was a makeshift bed as she did her last task.
Once you were alone, you and Bruce stay in silence.
"I heard from the conversation you had with Jason, that you went to Blüdhaven?" you ask out loud.
Bruce takes a seat at the foot of your bed, staring at you.
"I had a feeling that you would stay with one of the kids, so I sought out Jay's place. I didn't see you, but I knew you were there."
You look at your hands on your lap, picking on a cuticle.
"You're still Batman..." you whispered to yourself, feeling your throat close up.
"I know how the cowl makes you feel, but if you say that-" You cut Bruce off, looking at him with a look.
"Batman isn't the problem, it's you keeping secrets from your family. I know that I had my secret about my father, but it was because he was barely in my life. All he did was give my mother a bank account under my name and never looked back. After you left, I realized I needed someone to take out my demons and went to Arkham. I needed to breathe and it was the only place to do so."
Bruce ponders from your words. "What if I told you there's a place for you to do so?"
He scoots closer to your sitting figure. "The place I stayed for the past months, it's a small cabin my father bought before I was born. We can go there. Any questions you want from me, I'll answer them."
"Any questions?" you ask skeptically.
Bruce takes his hand into yours again. "Any, don't feel like you have to pull back. Day or night, I'll answer truthfully."
"Okay, after I'm discharged, we'll head out there." you reply.
You see Bruce bright up a bit as he kisses your knuckles.
"Thank you." he says softly
You give him a smile, suddenly yawning.
"Go to sleep, I'll step out for a moment to call Alfred to make arrangements for our trip."
You nod as you begin to lie on your side, as you see Bruce walking away as he took his phone out.
You trust that he's going to make everything up to you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Dent, you have a call." a nurse says through the cell.
Two Face flips his coin, muttering to himself to either answer or decline the call.
He calls out tales to answer, and sees the metal land on tales.
He gets up and walks with the nurse in tow to the telephone.
His hands pick up the phone and places it on the side of his ear that wasn't scarred.
"Who is this?" Harvey asks a bit roughly.
"Mr. Dent, this is Bruce Wayne."
Harvey is off guard, but recollects himself.
"What do you want? I don't need to be a charity case for whatever you're scheming." Harvey bites back.
"It's about your daughter, Mr. Dent." Bruce said, looking at the small window that connected to your room.
The half scarred man forgets to breathe for a moment. "So you know... what happened?"
"There was an accident, her and the baby are fine now. I'm going to take her away from the city for a bit, help her breathe."
Harvey chuckles to himself. "You come back from the dead just to be her shining knight. Is that why you're calling, to tell me that all she needs is you?"
Bruce hesitates for a second. "I know you care for her, sir. She hasn't explained the entirety of her upbringing yet, but I know you're the only living family she has left. That's why I was wondering if I could have your permission to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage. I know I asked her prior, but I wanted to do it right this time."
The nurse behind hims signals that he only has a few minutes left of his call.
"I have no right to give you permission. I was barely in her life, she's the only one to give you an answer. But... take care of her. Do what I couldn't."
Bruce sees you sleeping through the window, admiring your soft features.
"I promise, sir."
Harvey sniffs, trying to ignore the sting in his eyes.
"You're one hell of a kid, Wayne, Just like your father. Worked with him prior before you were born, smart man and cared about everyone. He'll be proud."
Bruce didn't have time to register what he just said as the line goes silent. He must have run out of time or chose those to be his last parting words.
All he could do was look up to the ceiling, hoping that his late father is proud of him.
But some part of him thought he had a long way to go.

The Blood Within Us Chapter 10
Tumblr media
Summary: Will the reader do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves when tragedy hits the Wayne family? How far will the truth be tested when she realizes she’s not the only one with secrets of her own?
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Pregnant Reader
Warning: none?
After spending overnight at the hospital, you were finally released.
It made you reflect on a lot of things, such as Bruce. Even when he came back, he didn't really sleep through the night with you. He was either in his study to update himself on Wayne Interprise as he resumed his role or in the Batcave, doing research. But, you had to have a clear mind as you’re both trying to have a second chance.
On your way back to the manor, Bruce could see that you were a bit nervous about your brief vacation that he promised. As he mentioned that there's not a lot of people who lived in the area and the hospital was out of reach from the distance, you began to worry.
"I trust you, Bruce. But what if something happens?" You ask as your right hand softly brushes the fabric of your growing belly.
"We'll have an emergency phone. Clark or Barry can arrive if anything does happen. But I promise you... nothing will happen on my watch." Bruce said as you arrived at the stoplight, taking your hand into his.
You give him a small smile and then let go of his hand as the light turned green. You promised each other that there will be rules on this trip:
No bringing work to the cabin
No vigilante activity
Bruce will answer any questions from you
You're able to bring an emergency phone to call the kids once you settle. They were glad that you're able to get some fresh air and get away from the city life.
You arrive by the manor, and see the boys loading up a different car for you to drive for long-term trips.
As you get out of the car, Damian rushes to your side.
"We packed all of your things, mother." He says brightly.
"Thank you Dami, but you guys know that we're staying for a couple of days and not a month, right?" You joke as you see more than five suitcases.
"Alfred packed food to last you guys for a while, he even wrote how to cook it on a paper inside of the baskets." Dick quipped up as he puts one of the final containers in the back of the car.
"I can cook, you know?" Bruce added as he walked closer to all of you.
"If my memory serves me right, Alfred kicked you out of the kitchen when you almost burnt last year's turkey for Thanksgiving." Jason added
"and that creme brulee you tried making for mom on new years." Tim chimed
"You can't even cook popcorn right." Dick joked.
Bruce rolled his eyes as the boys started laughing at his cooking skills.
You smile to yourself as you see the boys warming up to Bruce. You could imagine Alfred was up to this, he probably scolded them to not give their adoptive father a hard time as he truly wants to mend this family.
You have to thank him before you leave.
Tim makes his way up to you, his head bowed down.
"I know you're about to leave in a few minutes, but I wanted to apologise for everything." He said in a serious tone.
You exhale and hug him tightly.
"It should be me apologizing. I never had the heart to tell you boys about my father. I betrayed your trust Tim, and I'm sorry."
You feel him shake his head in denial and looks at you.
"You had the hardest time out of all of us these past months, mom. Like you said, visiting him made you forget that for awhile. I understand now, I was just angry and everything started bottling up."
You move his locks away from his eyes, seeing how much he truly loves you.
"When I come back, we'll talk more, okay? I want to tell you and the rest of the boys about my past. You all deserve to know where I came from." Tim nods his head and hugs you again one last time.
Bruce sees this and walks up to you two, following the other boys in tow.
"I don't want any parties, you hear me? Alfred will be taking a small vacation so the house better not be in flames by the time we come back."
All the boys agree, grumbling under their breath.
Just then, Alfred comes down the stairs with his own luggage.
"Thank you, Alfred. I hope this vacation serves you well." You said, as you approached him at the end of the stairs.
"I am very well excited to head back to England. Before you leave, Mrs. Lance-Queen dropped a little package for you in the car." You chuckle a bit as you remembered Dinah talking to you on the phone yesterday, wanting to give you something.
Alfred walks up to Bruce and whispers something as Bruce nods his head. All you could hear him say was "Thank you."
Finally, you and Bruce started the car and you waived Alfred and the boys goodbye. You start driving on the smooth road and await your destination.
The car ride was a bit silent, and you see Bruce deep in thought.
"So you said your dad bought the property of the cabin?" you ask, breaking the silence.
"Yeah, he bought it as an anniversary gift for my mom. They owned it before I was born, but I remember we’d go there for the winter when I was a kid. It was really fun." Bruce said, reminiscing.
You give him a small smile as you stared off to the window, leaving Gotham and entering the country side of the state.
It takes two hours to enter a forest, where you finally found a paved road that leads to a state of the art cabin.
The car slowed down as you both drove into the driveway. Bruce parks as he takes the key out of the ignition and opens the driver’s side. You take in your surroundings as you see how the trees touch the sky. You didn’t notice Bruce opening the trunk to get the bags out, already placing them by the patio. As you opened up your door, he gave you his arm so you could get out easily. You hesitantly hold on to him, breathing the fresh air.
Once Bruce opens the cabin door, you cover your nose as a wave of naseua hits you. "Are you okay?" Bruce said attentively as you stumbled back from his hand.
"The- The smell. You could really tell Constatine has been here." You try joking, guilty that Bruce wasn't bothered with the strong tobacco scent that lingered inside.
Bruce walks in, noticing that your pregnancy symptoms taken notice of the faint scent then he did, so he joins you out on the patio.
"Let me clear the air in here, maybe you could sit by the river to do some light reading." He says as you placed some books in the cabinet of the car.
"Are you sure?" You ask, not wanting Bruce to hassle around to get rid of the stench.
He takes your wrist softly and kisses it. "I want to. Go enjoy yourself."
You take one final look at him and you make your way down, getting your book and heading over the peaceful river. You notice a lonely log that was comfortable enough for you to sit on and you start to read.
20 minutes flew by and you see Bruce in the corner of your eye.
"Was able to air out everything. Want to come inside?" He asks you. You nod your head as you have Bruce help you off the log. The rocks underneath you were a bit slippery but Bruce caught you in time in his chest. You look up to him, a bit shell shocked, but you pull out from his embrace.
"Thank you." You muttered shyly. He doesn't say anything but he gives you a smile. You both walk up to the cabin where you were so shocked with the interior.
"Wow." you mutter to yourself, noticing the dark accents and the handcrafted detailed that was around the space.
"Have you ever came here before, you know..." you referred from his hiding these past months as you walked around.
"I visited the place from time to time, made sure that it was maintained. I never stayed long enough though. Reminded me too much of who I was before life hit me." He says, following you in tow.
You walk towards the master bedroom and see how most of your luggage was beside the foot of the bed.
"I'll let you change if you need to, I'll start working on dinner." You nod your head as Bruce made his way in the kitchen.
You start looking though your luggage and see a box with your name on it, attached to a letter.
I'm really glad that you're okay and you're patching things up with Bruce. Bought this for you to try on, love you!
- Dinah
You smile to yourself and lift up the box, laughing as you saw what was inside.
"Oh my goodness." you say to yourself, shaking your head.
You put the box away and change into comfortable clothes. Once you're done, you come out to the kitchen to find Bruce struggling with a recipe.
"Need help?" you quipped.
He looks at you like a deer in headlights, putting his head down.
"It's simple ingredients, but every time I try it, it's bland." he says, referring to the half made meal.
You take a small spoon and taste a small portion.
"You're missing some spice, did Alfred pack any?" you ask.
Bruce looked at what Alfred prepared and gave you the other ingredients. With his help, you both made a good dinner. Bruce was grateful that you didn't kick him out of the kitchen but instead include him into making it.
"I'm really sorry, it seemed so simple at first." He says, taking away your empty dishes to wash.
"It's totally fine. I started cooking for myself at a young age, almost went into culinary school." you reply.
"I didn't know that." He says, looking at you while you dried a plate.
"Yeah, my great aunt wasn't the most agile so I started cooking for her when she brought me in." You say casually.
He sees that you're holding back on why you were brought up by a relative, so he decided to just wait another day till you were ready.
"Oh! I almost forgot!" You said, rushing to the bedroom to grab something.
Once Bruce was done on the last plate, he dries his hand and walks near the fireplace, seeing you sat on the couch with a small tub in hand.
"What are you doing?" Bruce asks.
You turn to where he was as you lifted your hand with the item.
"I need to put on some shea butter so my skin won't irritate. It's been a night ritual. Want to help?" you offered.
Bruce brightens a bit as he sits on the coffee table in front of you as you lifted your shirt.
His breathing got hitched as he saw the dominant bruise on your belly.
"I know... I don't like it too." you said in a low tone. Bruce then takes the shea butter from your hand and opens it.
"Does it hurt?" he softly asks.
You shake your head no as you place your hand on his. "It's okay if you're uncomfortable." you tell him as he looked so solemn.
"No, I want to help you." Bruce says with more assurance in his voice. Then, he scoops out some butter and rubs it in his hand.
"Might be cold." He kids.
You smirk as you feels his big hands on your belly. You see how concentrated he bites his lip, making sure that every movement he smoothed out the butter.
He takes his time until most of the moisture finally dried.
"That should be it, I'm glad I could help."
You shifted space for him on the couch. "Maybe you could sit with me?" you asked quietly. Bruce thinks for a moment, then nods his head softly as he sat beside you.
You both stared at the fireplace for a while. It felt so strange, two people who deeply love each other being so close but feeling so far away. You slowly reached his nearest hand and placed it on your stomach. "She's kicking." You said sleepily as you tried to stay awake.
Bruce waited for a couple of seconds and felt the fluttering underneath his palm. You both move in sync as you turn on your side as Bruce starts cuddling behind you, his hand still in your middle.
"Did you want a girl when I told you I was pregnant?" You ask out of the blue.
You feel him hum behind you, his head in the crook of your neck.
"I wasn't sure what I wanted the baby to be. We brought up four boys together and I have no idea how to raise a baby, let alone a baby girl. But, I'm excited." He says, smiling to himself as he imagines a life with a little girl in his arms.
You then take this accepted silence for a bit as you breathe out in content.
“We should take the kids here during the break” you murmured quietly. Bruce was about to agree before he stared down at your now sleeping figure. He gets up with you in his arms as he swiftly carries you to the master room and tucks you in bed. He also rubs your belly one last time and gets up. His actions were noticed as you caught his hand in time before he left.
“Stay…” you said with your eyes closed. Bruce couldn’t tell if you were asking or telling him, given your dazed state. But he makes the decision as he opens the covers again, holding you in his arms and kissing your head. “Always.” he said as his slumber succumbed to him, with the night being at peace with these broken people.

The Blood Within Us Chapter 12
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Pregnant! Reader
Summary: Will the reader do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves when tragedy hits the Wayne family? How far will the truth be tested when she realizes she’s not the only one with secrets of her own?
Warning: abusive parent, drug overdose, death of family members (not the reader)
It felt like last night was a blur. From the sudden pain to Bruce helping you through in the nice warm bathtub, you must have fallen asleep. You don't remember Bruce draining out the water and carefully take care of you as he dried you off and slipped on a comfortable pair of undergarments on you.
You stirred in your sleep, feeling a bit sore from the other night. But what almost woke you up was a voice speaking softly.
"You gave us quite a scare last night." a gruff voice said.
You realized that it was Bruce, who placed himself beside your legs, talking to your belly. You decide not to open your eyes and listen to his conversation with your little girl.
"I swear I swallowed my heart when I saw your mother in pain. I thought I almost had to deliver you, and you're not quite done growing yet." Bruce said, referring that you were nearing your second trimester.
"But I can't wait to meet you. I'd never been more excited for anything. I thank your mom for giving me this, a second chance to be in your life. I know I'm far from being forgiven for missing so much but, I'm here for you and your brothers... I promise to stay for all of you."
He pauses for a moment, grinning to himself as he could visibly see that you weren't sleeping anymore as your breathing changed.
His silence makes you realize that you're caught red-handed, so you fluttered your eyes open, contently smiling at your fiance.
"You're really sweet, you know that right?" you murmured as sleep was escaping you. Bruce rolled his eyes playfully and climbed his way behind you, taking in the faded scent of lavender from your bath.
"You're feeling better?" He asks. You nod your head yes as both of your hands cradle your belly, looking at how the bruise has faded over the past days.
"I love being here, I haven't enjoyed such a peaceful time." you said out loud.
"But?" Bruce said, looking at you.
You twist around to face him, placing a hand on his burly chest.
"I think it's time to go home. Not that it's a bad thing, but I'm so scared that these past days would just..." You don't finish your sentence, too afraid of what Bruce may think.
"You think that this is like a honeymoon stage." You nod again, softly biting the bottom of your lip.
Bruce releases a sigh as he brings you closer as he could with your belly in the way.
"I will not stop loving you, darling. You're all I ever wanted and even more. You've given my kids a mother and you're going to be even a great one once our little girl is born." He said, touching your belly softly.
"And I'll remind you why I love you for infinity and little after that." You sniffled for a bit, as Bruce kissed the top of your head, then the tip of your nose, then at your lips.
His kiss was blissful, making you feel warm inside. He pulls away, seeing how all of your worries washed away.
You push away strands of hair away from his face.
"Let's go home?" you ask.
"Let's go home." he says.
You both get out of the bed to start packing. Once you were done, Bruce took all of the things in the back of the car and helped you walk down the stairs. Bruce quickly pulls out the phone and calls Dick to say that both of you are arriving soon. After the call, he helps you in the car and starts the ignition. Once he pulls out of the dirt driveway, you look back to the cabin and smile to yourself at all the happy memories you've made. You look back to Bruce and silently agreed that you'll come back here again, but with all of your family.
Later on, you realized that you have entered Gotham as the country skies turned into a dull gray. It wasn't far on till you reach the manor, where you see Alfred and the boys standing by the entrance of the manor.
Once you pull in, you immediately get out of your side and your sons raced down the steps to hug you.
"I missed you, boys." You murmured to all of them.
"We missed you more." Dick said.
You let them go, but Damian is still hugging you from the side. You ruffle his hair softly and smile at him, not minding he doesn't want to let go yet.
Jason and Tim were already taking out your luggage as Dick and Bruce were lightly talking. Dami let you go as Alfred greeted you, taking you by the arm as you head inside. “How was your vacation, Alfred?” You ask.
“Quite refreshing, but I was ready to go home.” He said, agreeing with him.
Alfred had to excuse himself as you made your way to upstairs to the study room.
You sit on the couch, breathing steadily as you see Bruce who’s leaning on the door frame.
“You know we can wait for a little bit.” Bruce said, as he could see you're eager to talk to your family.
“I’m done waiting, Bruce. It’s time that they know.” You said.
Bruce calls your sons as they make their way upstairs and he sits by you, kissing the top of your head.
“They’ll be fine, you don’t have to worry about anything.” He murmured.
All you could give him was a nervous smile as the boys started to flood in.
“Are you guys okay?” Dick asked.
You take a deep breath as Bruce holds your hand in support.
“We’re fine, but um… we wanted to talk to you about some things. It’s time that you know about my past.”
“Ma, you don’t need to tell us.” Jason said, not wanting to make you uncomfortable.
“I want to, Jason.” You reassured as you begin to talk about what you’ve been avoiding for so long.
“I don’t know how my birth parents met, but somehow they had me. My uh, my birth mother…” You started to tear up, nearly choking till Bruce wrapped an arm around you for support.
“My birth mother was very abusive. She would sometimes lock me in the apartment where we lived. I would starve sometimes and I had to make myself meals by the time I was five. There was this jam jar that was one the top shelf that I wanted to eat and I almost grabbed it and it shattered on the floor. She came and saw it happening and she… she would hit me and scream that I was a mistake.”
The boys were silent, looking at you with wet eyes.
You found your inner strength and continued your story.
“I just turned 9 and I woke up to see my mom on the couch, still like a statue. I told her to wake up and I knew something was wrong. I walked out of the apartment and knocked on my neighbor's door and told them what happened. Soon, the police came and the morgue took the body away, all I could hear was that she had an overdose. I was in the system for a few weeks until my great aunt heard of me and took me in. Life became better.
It wasn’t until junior high when I started to wonder who my dad was. One night when my great aunt was sleeping, I looked in all of my files about myself in a folder she received from the police. My birth certificate didn’t have his name and I just thought he was dead or long gone. It wasn’t until I saw a bank statement under my name and saw who’s been transferring money since I was born: Harvey Dent.
Everyone knew who he was, he was Gotham’s best attorney. He had a recognition like no other. Then without thinking, I sent him a letter to his office. I told him everything about me and how I think he may be my father. I sent him so many letters but he never wrote back. I soon stopped after my great aunt passed before I graduated high school.
From then on, I was alone. All I could focus on was my education and finding my calling. It wasn’t until I was at a part time job at a vintage store that I realized I wanted to make clothes. So I moved on with my life. I never looked back because I knew there would be better things to come. And I found four amazing boys, the love of my life, and a little girl on the way.”
The room was silent for a moment until someone repressed a sob. Your vision focused and saw Tim muffling his cries. “Oh baby.” You said, slowly standing up as he launched himself in your arms.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” he muffles in your chest. All you could do was hug him as close as you could with your stomach in the way.
A minute pass and you two let go, and all eyes are on you.
“I didn’t realize all that pain you went through, if I knew before-” Tim stuttered out.
You place a hand on his shoulder.
“A true mother doesn’t give her children her burdens.” You said.
Dick looks at Bruce who looked solemn in his seat.
“Did you know about this?” Your eldest son asked.
“No, all I knew was about the bank account. Your mother wanted to share with all of you first.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, but how did you start visiting your dad?” Jason asks, not wanting to dehumanize your living parent with his villain name.
“When Dick voiced his concern about the nightmares I’ve been having, I realized I needed to confront all of my anger to someone. One night, I just decided to go to Arkham and see him for the first time.” You said, thinking back.
You were sitting in front of a glass panel with a telephone on your right. Your hands began to sweat as your nausea was building up. But you repressed the feeling and you hear a door swing and see the man you’ve waited your whole life sit down in front of you.
You don't even know what to say. This man has caused so much havoc and death to this city, this was the man who killed your son’s biological father.
Why are you here?
You hear a buzzer in the air as you see uniformed people sitting behind the glass.
And you saw him right in front of you.
He takes the phone off the wall and speaks through it.
“If you’re some news reporter wanting a headline, I’m not giving a statement of any kind.” He says in a grouchy tone.
“I’m not here to interview you.” You said through the phone.
He leans in closer to get a proper look at you, and you could visibly see a shift in his mood.
“Who are you?” he says, almost in a whisper.
“I think you know who I am, dad.”
He shushes you quickly, looking side to side.
“Are you trying to get yourself killed?” He says.
“Why do you care? You never even met me.” You spit back, rage in your eyes.
He huffs and purses his lips.
“What are you doing here?” he asks, almost genuinely.
You were about to open your mouth, but the words don’t come out.
“I- don’t know. You’re the last person I ever wanted to see. I just, needed to go somewhere without feeling like i’m falling apart.” You whispered.
The whole city knows about what happened in the museum, how your family is still mourning the loss of your late fiance. Even the people in Arkhum are up to date with the news. But he doesn’t reply, knowing that you were probably not there for sympathy.
“You look like you’ve been through hell.” He says.
You laugh bitterly, shaking your head.
“Thanks.” You said sarcastically.
He gives you a small grin as he seems almost relaxed, this was the first time he has ever had a real conversation without being viewed as some sort of monster.
“You’re here for a punching bag, to take out all of the nasty things that you’ve gone through.”
You sniffled a bit, folding your lips inward.
“Something like that.” You admitted.
He shakes his head up and down, thinking.
“Does anyone know that you’re here?” He asks, referring your family.
You look down in your lap, avoiding eye contact.
“I’m guessing that’s a no.” He says.
“Look, I’m not here to reconcile. But what I want is answers: why did you leave and if you ever gave a damn about me.” You said.
“Do you play chess?” He says out of the blue.
You were speechless for a moment.
“Yeah.” You said with hesitance
“Let’s play. I’ll tell you whatever you want after every match.”
“I don’t understand-”
He cuts you off as a dangerous look is in his eyes.
“Imma be frank, I need complete focus in order to keep myself in control. And it looks like you need something to distract yourself from what you’re going through. It’s killing two birds with one stone.”
A guard comes to collect him and he stands up, looking at you.
“Come on Tuesday nights, biweekly. I don’t want anyone to be suspicious.” He says as he departs from the visiting booth, leaving you alone with your thoughts.
“...and so I did. We only talked if I had a question but we mainly just played. I haven’t seen him since your father came back.” You said, turning to Bruce.
“Will you ever visit him again?” Damian asks quietly.
You shook your head no.
“It was a mistake to visit him in the first place, I was in a state of grief and I thought that was my way of coping.”
The boys don’t interfere with your statement.
“But he’s the only family you have.” Bruce spoke up, taking you all off guard.
“You can’t be serious.” Jason said, confused.
“I get we’re all being more compassionate about things, but he’s in Arkham for a reason.” Dick joined as all he wanted was to protect you.
“I’m the one who put him in there, and the one who originated his path to Two Face. If anything, I’m to blame for the mess we’re all in.”
Bruce gets up and stands in front of you.
“If I ever got the chance to talk to my dad one more time, I would take it. And don’t you still want him to answer why he left?”
You look down on the ground, but Bruce takes your hands for you to lock eyes with him.
“You took a chance on me, why not give a chance on him?”
“I’ll think about it, okay? I don’t want to make any promises.” You said. Bruce nods his head and you both envelop in a tight hug, letting go of all of the turmoil you have faced in your life.
“Mother, what’s on your left hand?” Damian asked out loud.
You lightly chuckle and you look at Bruce had a sly smile.
“Why don’t you tell them?” you murmur with jest.
Bruce looks at his sons with pride. “I proposed to your mother again, and she said yes.”
The boys seemed to change their solemn state into a joyous environment, smiling.
“Congrats you two! When’s the wedding?” Dick said.
“I’m thinking in November? We want to get married before Lily makes her debut.” You said, now attached to Bruce’s hip.
“Wait, that’s what you're naming the baby?” Jason asks.
Bruce smiles and looks down, rubbing your belly.
“Yeah, we’re naming her Lily. But her full name will be Lilith Robin Wayne.” He said.
All of the boys gasp, hearing the middle name.
“You don’t mean…” Tim whispered, as the news was still settling in.
You muffle a laugh but you give a wide smile.
“You boys have given me so much these past years, I only sought it fit that your little sister is named after four amazing brothers.” You said.
And with that, all of the boys hug you and Bruce, never feeling so happy in their lives. All of you squeal in delight as you enjoyed the sweet moment.
“I think it’s time to show you guys something.” Dick said, looking at you and Bruce.
You and him share a confused look but your youngest son takes your hand and out of the study.
“Come! We’ve been waiting impatiently.” Damian said like a kid in excitement (which he was rarely was at times) as Tim and Jason joined in tow. Bruce chuckles and says he’ll join, but he turns to his eldest son.
“I want to talk to you briefly, it that’s okay.” Bruce said.
Dick nods his head and stands in front of his father.
“Your mother told me that you wanted to join the police academy.” Bruce said.
Dick’s mouth is suddenly dry, but he stands his ground.
“I know that kind of gets in the way of night patrol but-”
Bruce places a comforting hand on Dick’s shoulder.
“I want you to do it.” Bruce said, giving a small smile.
“Wha-what?” Dick asks.
“I shouldn’t have put you in the cowl when I left. I see so much of myself in you, but it’s not true at all. You’re better. And the fact you want to protect this city without hiding in a mask makes it more admirable. I’m proud of you Dick, and I want you to follow your dreams.”
Dick’s eyes begin to water and he hugs his father tightly.
The two men stand there for a moment, feeling that they are no longer at odds with the other.
Bruce lets his eldest go and pats him on the back.
“Let’s see you and your brother’s surprise.” Bruce said as Dick lead him to the guest room.
Once they enter, Bruce was at a lost of words.
The room was a forest theme nursery.
You were in the middle of the room, hand on your mouth as you were overwhelmed by your sons’ surprise.
“You did all this?” Bruce asked, joining you at your side.
“Yeah, Tim found what we needed as Jay and I moved the equipment in here. Damian painted the mural of the animals.” Dick said, watching his parents take in the room.
You walk closer to the ivory crib and started bawling as you saw the mobile on top.
“We asked Alfred to find this when he traveled back home. That way, her brothers will always look after her.” Tim said as you stared at the four robins that hung over where your baby will sleep.
“This is so wonderful. Thank you boys.” You said as your still crying. All of your sons began to hug you again, happy that you love it.
Bruce stood at the corner, smiling at the scene. You open your eyes and look at him, whispering to come closer. He obliged and join the hug.
A second later, Bruce gets a buzz in his phone. He looks down on the screen and feels grim.
“I’m sorry, but there’s an emergency in Arkham. Someone escaped.”
All of the boys let go and stare at their father, then to you.
“Go.” You said urgently as the boys headed down to the Batcave.
Bruce kisses you softly and puts a hand on your belly.
“Will you be alright?” He asks.
You nod your head and he leaves you standing the in the middle of the room, feeling your nerves build up and start to wonder.
Who has escaped?

The Blood Within Us Chapter 11
Tumblr media
Summary: Will the reader do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves when tragedy hits the Wayne family? How far will the truth be tested when she realizes she’s not the only one with secrets of her own?
Warning: smut, sex, signs of labor, braxton hicks, nudity
“I told you Dami, we’re fine. You don’t have to fly with Jon so you could check how we’re doing.” You said through the phone as you were laying on the couch.
You and Bruce just finished lunch when he called. He claimed that there were sitings of “wolves'' during this type of season and wanted to make sure nothing happened to you. Bruce smiles where he was standing, knowing all of your boys worried about you night and day.
“Look, baby… I need to go. Your father wants us to do some sight seeing on a light hike. I love you.” You concluded your message as you hung up. You turn around and face Bruce who’s smirking.
“It’s literally the fourth day and your sons are worried that I’ve been eaten by wild beasts.” You joke as you get off the couch. Bruce comes up to you with your hiking boots to help you slip them on.
“Well at least you’re getting phone calls.” He joked as he was tying your laces.
“Hey.” You lightly scolded him, making him look up at you. “You’re still their father, and they still love you.” You reminded him.
Bruce gets up and releases a sigh, giving you a soft smile.
“I know, but I think they’re more worried about you since you’re carrying special cargo.” He jokes, lightly rubbing your belly over your top.
You smile at his affection and kiss his cheek.
“C’mon, let’s head out before the sun sets. I intend to do as much as I can on this trip.” You said, already heading outside. Bruce rolls his eyes and helps you out of the patio so he could lead the way.
On the trail, you notice how beautiful your surroundings were. Bruce even found an opening where you could see the majestic site. Glad that both of you could sit on a higher rock, you snuggled closer on Bruce’s arm as a light chill crept on you both.
“So I was wondering… have you thought of any names lately? For the baby?” Bruce asks out loud, taking you by surprise.
“It’s more of what I don’t want in a name. I can’t stand those celebrities who name their kids after random things. I want our baby girl to have a name that means something to us.” You said, wrapping your arms around your belly.
You see that Bruce was wanting to say something, but he refrained from doing so.
“You have a name for her, don’t you?” You tease as you let go of him.
Bruce groans a bit, looking flushed.
“You might think it’s a bit cheesy.” He says, putting his hands in his pockets.
“Try me.” You said, crossing your arms at your chest.
Bruce murmurs something under his breath, embarrassed.
“I’m sorry, what?” You ask.
Bruce lightly kicks his boot in the dirt as he’s building the courage to say the name out loud.
“Lily. It was the flower I gave you on our first date.”
For a second, you forgot how to speak.
“You don’t like it, don’t you?” Bruce says, looking a bit sad.
You shake your head. “No, Bruce… I- I thought you didn’t love me at that time.” You said as your heart clenched.
Bruce’s features changed as he realized what he said.
“My god I didn’t mean… I’m such an idiot… Let me…” He stuttered till he collected his senses and looked at you with loving eyes.
“Ever since my parents died, I forgot what love was. I buried myself seeking vengeance that I even forgot what it meant to be alive. I had to create myself into a phony persona, be Gotham’s bachelor so no one could even think of who I became at night.”
Bruce takes your hand and stares into your eyes, holding onto you like you could fade away.
“I admit that I planned our interaction together. I was supposed to collect intel. But… the more you started talking to me, the more I wanted to get to know you. Even before our date, I was a complete wreck for some reason. I never even went on a real date before and I walked in a random floral shop and got the first flower I saw. And when I gave you that flower afterwards, your eyes just… sparkled. For some reason, I wanted to keep that sparkle in your eyes as much as I could. It took me two years to realize that I loved you. I was a fool to even play you like I did. You became such an amazing mother to the boys and gave them so much love than I ever could.”
Bruce takes a pause, looking down. “I lost so much time with you, and I regret every second of staying away from this sweet girl…”
Bruce says, placing his hand on your belly as he feels a kick.
“I want to do everything in my power to regain your love, trust, and that sparkle in your eye when I gave that Lily.”
You begin to sniffle as tears start falling from your eyes.
“Have you prepared this speech just so we could name our daughter Lily?” you ask him, trying to wipe your tears. Bruce stops you and dries them himself, feeling your soft skin in his palms.
“There’s actually one last thing I wanted to ask.” He says, getting up in front of you and going down on one knee.
You begin to sob more as your right hand flies to your mouth.
“Bruce…” you muffled out.
He begins to tear up as he folds his lips inward.
“I made you wait for the longest time and regretted it so much. You don’t know how badly I want to call you my wife, for you to be Mrs. Wayne. I want to do this right this time, if you’ll have me again?” Bruce asks, opening not the ring he proposed to you the first time, but his mother’s ring you’ve seen in photos.
You get off from your seat and go closer to him, holding the side of his face.
“Even if you ask me again tomorrow and the next, I would always, always say yes.”
Bruce releases a shaky breath, but smiles widely at you. He slides the ring around your finger and stands up to kiss you with all of his strength. Both of your tears mix with each other and you finally let go to breathe.
“You hear that Lily? Your parents are getting married.” You say to your belly.
Bruce laughs at your affection, as well as joyful that you loved the name.
You then look up to him, as all you wanted to do was to have Bruce to yourself.
“Why don’t we go back to the cabin? I’m wanting to give you something too.” You said, as your eyes glinted from the sunset before you. Bruce is a bit confused, but agrees to do so. You take his hand into yours and you walk all the way back. Once you enter, you force him to sit on the couch and have him wait.
Bruce realizes what’s going on and impatiently waits as the minutes pass on. He then snaps his head as he hears the bedroom door open to reveal you in dark lingerie. It was a black lace two piece, hugging every curve on your body just perfectly, but deep down, Bruce knew he could tear that in seconds.
“Dinah gave this to me as a joke, but I could clearly see what it’s doing to you right now.” you said, seeing how Bruce’s eyes turned darker by each passing moment not touching you. With wide steps, Bruce goes up to you, taking in all of your goddesslike complexion.
“You’ll have to excuse me of what I have to do next.” Bruce said, leaving his hot breath by your ear.
“Don’t worry, I never intended to keep this any way. I know you’ll buy me more in the near future.” You tease, pulling his shirt closer to you.
He gives you a devilish grin as you keep teasing him.
“You sir, haven’t formally taken me around this cabin.” You say, licking your lips.
“I guess I just have to take you at every inch of this fine establishment.” Bruce murmurs before leaning in to kiss you as both of your arousals began to rise.
From there, he carries you to the kitchen, the bed, and even the shower where you two fucked with such passion. You both realized that your love making has been overdue and you were enjoying the feeling of being inside of each other. You’ve down any position you could comfortably do and now you were by the carpet at the fire place, where both of you were lying as Bruce fucked you from behind.
You can’t remember when he tore off your lingerie but you couldn’t care less as you reached your climax yet again. You could feel him jolt behind you as he released the 3rd time that night. His hands snake up to your swollen tits and he grabs them fully. You release a loud moan as you could feel Bruce’s hot breath at your neck.
“Something about you so full with my seed does something to me, you put me in agony and I’ll forever be on my knees to beg for your mercy.” he whispers in your ear.
Your breath becomes haggard as his perfect words made you wetter by the second. Once he takes his hands away from your tits, you intertwine your hands into his as he finishes his thrusts. You both stay there for a moment, not wanting him to pull out as you feel so close with one another.
You whimper as you feel him leave you, but he pulls you closer from behind and kisses your shoulder. You lightly chuckle to yourself, making Bruce raise his head.
“What are you laughing about?” He asks, giving you a toothy grin.
You stare up to him as you move away a few strands from his hair.
“When you pepper me with kisses after every time we make love… it always means that we’re ready for bed.”
Bruce begins to laugh also as he never realizes his actions. He then gets up and carefully scoops you in his arms to the bed like he’s down these past nights.
After he places the blanket over both of you, he stares at your tired figure as you fight the urge to sleep.
“I love you.” he whispers lightly, not wanting you to wake up, but hoping that you could hear his words.
You softly mutter the same as slumber finally overcame you. He holds you closer to him as he also welcomes sleep.
But after a few hours, he knits his eyebrows as he feels your body gone from his arms
His consciousness was somehow screaming at him to wake up. Slowly, he sits up from his figure and immediately wakes up to see you sitting on the edge of the bed breathing heavily.
Bruce gets out of his side and kneels in front of you, your eyes shut as you take a sharp breath in.
"I didn't want you to wake up." you whispered to Bruce as you sensed his presence.
His jaw locks as his hands slide to your waist, trying to figure out if you were in labor or something was wrong with the baby.
“Braxton Hicks?” Bruce asks. You nod your head yes as your hands try soothing your stomach.
“I felt the false contractions 20 minutes ago. They’ve been irregular so that’s why I didn’t want to bother you.” You say, as you’re trying to even your breathing.
Bruce frowns a bit, not wanting to deal with this alone. “You should have told me.” He says out loud.
You don’t respond as another harsh kick hits you again, making you whimper a bit. Bruce doesn’t waste time and carries you to the bathroom.
He quickly draws a bath as you sit on the closed toilet. Feeling that the temperature was alright, he guides you in the tub, making you sigh in relief
Bruce kneels by the tub and massages your back to ease the tension in your muscles. After a while, you feel the false contractions cease and you ask Bruce to lay behind you so you could lay down on his chest. He obliges as he could sense you were feeling much better once he joined you in the warm water.
“I know it’s really late, but I’ve been meaning to ask you something. It’s just… I don't know how to ask it.” you murmured, not wanting to disturb the peace.
“I told you, any time of day, I’ll answer your questions.” Bruce replies.
You take a breath in and look up to him with wide eyes.
“When did you know you could trust me?”
Silence fills the room momentarily.
“Do you remember the night I broke into your apartment?”
There was a thud in your apartment.
You woke up abruptly, thinking that a burglar broke in. You go in your closet to grab a sturdy umbrella and dial 911. You slowly got out of your room and looked out in your living space.
“Hello, please state your emergency.” the call stated plainly on the end of the call.
“I think someone is in-” your reply was cut short as you see a man leaning on your sliding window. He becomes limp and crashes onto the floor, unconscious.
“Ma’am?” the voice called out to you.
You hesitantly walk up to the body on the floor. You see that it wasn’t just a man, but the masked crusader: Batman.
His eys looked at you slowly, then closing them again as you could clearly see he was badly injured.
“I’m sorry, it was just a stray cat that came through my window.” You said as you hung up the phone.
You then kneel down to the vigilante and wrap one of his arms around your shoulder, taking him to your bed. As you turn on your lamp, you see how something clawed on his chest. You try prying off his armor as best you could so you could see how much harm was done on his body.
You stopped in your tracks when you could hear him mumbling something. You then registered what he was trying to say: your name.
You yank your hand back from his chest, startled. You know that voice… that voice that calls your name like it was a song. It was a voice that is similar to the man you’ve been dating for quite some time
Moving back from your position, you sit on a chair by the bed, hoping that the man on your bed will wake up.
You had a lot of questions that needed to be answered.
A few hours later, Bruce opened his eyes as he felt the sun. Suddenly, he felt alert as he touched his face.
“Don’t worry, I didn’t take it off.” a voice said softly as she was referring to his mask. He turns to the left and realizes it's you, sitting down while you were reading a book.
“You had a gash on your chest and I could tell your ribs were bruised. I was able to do what I could.” He slowly got up and realized his upper chest was bandaged heavily, along with his left arm. He also saw some parts of his clothing was on the edge of the bed, assuming you tried your best to clean whatever blood or dirt was on it.
“What time is it?” he said groggily as he did his best to get up. You went over him as he almost collapsed on the floor.
“It’s 7:30 in the morning, you’ve been out cold when you broke into my place.” you said, helping him sit on your bed.
He grunts softly as he sits on the soft bed, one of his hands wrapping around his chest.
“Out of all the gin joints in Gotham, Batman had to stumble into mine?” You lightly joked as you brought a chair to sit in front of him.
“Why didn’t you turn me in?” He asks himself, trying to disguise his voice.
You scoff lightly, crossing your arms. “You really think I’m that shallow of a person to do such a thing? You’ve literally done more justice for this city than anyone ever has. I can’t say that the crime rate has lowered, but you made a difference here.” You said, placing a gentle touch on his knee.
You slowly rise from your chair, looking at him as if it was your last.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but you have two options here. One: you leave out my window and I forget I’d ever seen you. I’ll understand if you never want to see me again also.” A light tremor is detected in your voice, making the masked hero look up to your glossy eyes.
“And two?” he whispers.
“I go out to my kitchen to make us coffee, and we’ll talk when you're ready.” You say, turning around to give him the privacy he needed.
Two minutes pass and you make yourself coffee. You wipe away the tears from your face, thinking that he must have left your room. Suddenly, you hear a few footsteps shuffling to you.
You see the man limping to where the kitchen table was. But at that time, his mask was in his hand, and you got to see that beautiful face of his.
He looks up to you, so scared yet so relieved of showing his true identity.
“I’d like to have that coffee if the offer still stands.”
You give him a small smile as you reveal the two mugs in your hands. You walk up to him and sit by his side, offering the warm drink which he gradually takes.

Batman Fancast
Tumblr media
I'm so excited to announce my next upcoming series! I also wanted to create this fancast to have a reference on how the Batfam would look like. I know how Bruce has like a thousand kids... so for this storyline, I decided to narrow the list. I also added notes of why I picked certain actors to portray the DC characters
*Update: I am also revising some parts of this series as I need to truly captivate each character’s backgrounds*
So without further ado, here is the Batfam!
Tumblr media
is a business owner for the biggest fashion label in Gotham City, including international branches
reader's color palette are browns, ivory, beige
has a secret past that will soon be revealed
plays the piano
Tumblr media
Oscar Isaac as Bruce Wayne
I believe Isaac's acting abilities can truly bring Bruce's dark and brooding demeanor
you can believe that Bruce would be THIC like super built
Although Bruce can be quiet, he's very affectionate to the reader and to his kids
Bruce's color palette is dark gray and black
Tumblr media
Thomas Elms as Dick Grayson
I fell in love with him when I watched "The Order" on Netflix, a must watch
I mean, look at him and the comic art... THEY BASICALLY LOOK THE SAME
Dick is like a golden retriever, (I don't think need to explain why lol)
aspires to be a police officer
color palette: different shades of blue and light gray
Tumblr media
Noah Centineo as Jason Todd
I think that Noah can match Jason's rebellious personality
He has a youthful spirit and I think he can be quite comedic
Jason is a TALL boi, and I think that Noah has excelled in that category
rides his motorcycle religiously
listens to different genres of music
mama's favorite to the reader
color palette: a dark red with darker tones of brown
Tumblr media
Finn Wolfhard as Tim Drake
Finn would be so good as Tim
I would think that Tim would be so stressed cause he thinks there's a lot expected of him
working on grades, being a detective like Bruce, and also interning at Wayne Enterprise has made this anxious baby so tired that he became a
COFFEE ADDICT
color palette: bright crimson with a mustard yellow
Tumblr media
Lucas Jaye as Damian Al Ghul
I believe this child will bring the SASS
actually enjoys reading literature
secretly a mama's boi to the reader
but that small boi will throw FISTS if someone tried to talk badly or hurt a single hair on you
