I've been reading David Harewood's (excellent) book Maybe I Don't Belong Here: A Memoir of Race, Identity, Breakdown and Recovery, and I was not surprised that his time on Robin Hood was relegated to a single paragraph, but I did find that paragraph extremely on point:

"I returned to London where I got a call from the BBC about joining the cast of their new series of Robin Hood as Friar Tuck. I ended up creating a sort of Ninja monk version of the friar, and they seemed to like it. A Black Friar Tuck actually made the evening news and was considered fairly controversial. Finally, a television part with a little imagination had come my way. But after a cracking intro, the experience didn't quite turn out how I'd hoped."

Tucker is so annoyed right now. He's tired, and look, usually his reincarnation happens without him knowing in the beginning, but it hasn't this time. Thankfully the brain can only have long term recall around the age of two so he didn't have to worry about… all of that.

spider, before even befriending ao'nung, being so tiny and fleshy and fragile, putting the other boys big brother mode into overdrive.

like he can barely stand the kid, but he can't help but like.... linger next to him.... sling an arm over his shoulder.... muscle memory from tsireya makes him just instinctually pick him up and away from danger.

and he's embarrassed, cause he 'hates' this human, he's one of the demons, why should he protect him. but also, like, he's embarrassed by his own internal monologue: look at him, he's just tiny, so tiny, have to take care of him. just a baby, a little baby, so fragile, so defenseless. he's not that bad, he's kinda sweet, sweet baby.

he hates it so fucking much, cause he keeps doing the stupidest, bug brother shit he can, and spider keeps looking at him strange, cause it's like the second they're around each other all common sense flies out the window like a trapped banshee, and ao'nung wants to die.

I had a wonderful Ghosts are Dragons idea thanks to @fairy-lights-and-blobs 

Nocturne, the great feathered wyvern of dreams, son of Morpheous, created of the sands of dreams itself, might be a bit, oh what’s the word, stumped. He had been twisting through the smog of the living world, and honestly should have been unseen. Keyword being should. 

Because? 

There’s a tiny? Hatchling? Growling at him when he slips into a warehouse, having been searching for a… misplaced item. And he says it with a question mark because? This is a hatchling, he knows his own senses, but they’re also… seemingly stuck in a human form. 

Dear Dreams, this is worse than how Phantom was- and he had been so injured from too much ecto at formation, even for a baby Primordial, that… Ugh, Nocturne wants to slam his horns against the ground repeatedly. 

Alright tiny red hatchling, let him just scoop you up aaand… alright, off to the Zone to see doctors, because really, he wasn’t expecting to get another child, but he’s also not going to just leave the equivalent of a chronically sick toddler!

regulus chuckled. "nothing new, then. i, personally, am still laughing at zabini's dress. who told her that such a huge bow would make an impact, rather than make everyone in the room glare at her?" he asked, stifling a laugh.

"i've no clue, but she looks horrible, for a woman who claims to be such an elegant lady. hey, wanna ditch and go smoke in the rose garden?"

There is an unnamed show where the protagonists are glorified by the plot while doing horrible stuff with only like meta jokes about how fucked up it is/ not a lot of real thought put in by the creators. Because that show is aware of it, they address it pretty poorly and then go back on it immediately like... and that comes off as that show being okay with killing a group of people even if one of the siblings is a member of that group of people.

The Wittebanes’ have a similar relationship to that one in that show and they are the worst codependent sibling duo ever and the show knows it and that’s a huge part of Philip’s story. Philip’s a horrible person and doesn’t care about the bodily autonomy of his sibling while also putting his brother an a pedestal. He doesn’t care that his brother is a witch or made that choice for himself, it’s all about Philip and his needs. His crusade against innocent people for the supposed harm they did to him and his brother (under the guise of religion/his mission/”these people are bad”) is horrible and the Owl House is like all in on that. No sympathy for Philip. Ultimately it’s only a tragedy because of the people Philip left behind like Evelyn and Darius, and ofc Caleb and Hunter. 

They’re doing the same/ similar shit it’s just totally about the context and I think that’s very silly. It’s wild that you can watch two pieces of media with this dynamic and one of them is like... “this abusive codependent relationship with consent problems is fine” and then the other one is like “This is not okay.”
